It did take a bit for one of my cats to adjust, but that is expected. The other cant wait for me to fill his bowl. I know for some the price may be off putting compared to lower quality brands, but you will actually save money by getting this food.

As the first ingredients are meat, your cat will be well satisfied than they would with foods with fillers. With other brands I felt like my cats were always still hungry and I had to continue to fill their bowls.

My cats eat this food up like it’s a treat and you will feel like a much better cat owner.

I have a cat who would not eat for 3 weeks. We had recently moved and she became jaundice. She lost about eight pounds. The vet could not find anything specifically wrong with her. I tried all sorts of foods with her.

I picked up this bag at a small store in town and bingo, she ate! Now this is all she wants. She is regaining her weight and is once again back to her old self.

Both of my kittens love this dry cat food! The ingredients are high quality protein and grains and it doesn’t have any meat byproducts. I like that it’s good for kittens and adult cats so I don’t have to switch once they’re older.

The food has added vitamins and minerals for overall health as well. I bought the food at my local pet store. It’s on the pricier side but worth it because of the quality and assurance that my cats are getting healthy wholesome food.

This was recommended by a professional for my kitten, so I ordered it – without reading the ingredients. You’ll notice the company does NOT list them on the can (maybe it’s on the back of the label?).

BUT. scroll down on the Chewy website to read the “Nutrition” section. I was shocked to see the first two ingredients are water and pork by products, especially considering the high price of this product! When I compared it to several other good quality brands, at least their #1 ingredient is a real protein like chicken (not by-product or meal), and often the 2nd and 3rd ingredients are also real food.

And most are very similar price points to this Royal Canin (I calculated cost per ounce). That means this food isn’t great for your growing kitten, and WAY overpriced by comparison with several other brands Chewy carries.

(yes prices have all gone up, but I doubt that is Chewy’s fault, as some reviewers have suggested. prices are up everywhere, so pretty sure it’s the manufacturers and/or supply chain problems). I won’t buy any more of this for my kitten, once the last few cans are gone.

And I’ve already switched to another brand of kitten kibble for the same reason – both way better quality for very similar cost.

My 15-year-old cat was diagnosed with kidney failure a year ago. Since then, it’s been a struggle to find a wet food variety she enjoys and is reliably in stock. Thanks to global supply chain issues, we ran out of her preferred food and she barely ate anything for a week, despite being offered various choices.

I started to think it might be time to make the worst phone call to the vet ever, but decided to try this based on some frantic googling. Well, that frantic googling paid off! My dear elderly cat LOVES this food.

Now that she’s getting adequate nutrition, she’s stopped some of the confused behavior she was exhibiting, she’s grooming more, her coat looks shinier, and she’s back to being her usual selectively affectionate self.

I am SO happy this food is available and would recommend it to other cat parents who are nursing a furry friend through hospice. I’m relieved that I can enjoy a bit more time with my imperious companion now that her quality of life is where it should be.

My cat likes and needs this food. Due to supply-chain issues, I’ve been unable to get either the prescription version of this brand and flavor or the non-prescription version of same. The version I’m writing this review on is the non-prescript version.

I could not find either version for months. Then I saw that Blain’s Farm and Fleet had some for sale. The catch — shipping was nearly $40. So I passed it by until I could “afford” the $40 shipping fee and buy enough product (a case) to make it worth the money.

I’m not happy about paying that shipping fee, hence a 4-star review. My cat likes the food and was happy to resume eating it after a few months’ hiatus. Though Blain’s shipped the food quickly and by priority mail so that I received it within a few days of ordering, I’d have preferred a lower shipping charge.

The quality of this brand and flavor is good, as indicated by even my other cats liking it just as month as the cat for whom I ordered it.

I wasn’t too thrilled about the ingredients list for this product, but a vet we’re just starting with broadly recommended some brands and Iams came up. I had never tried Iams before, but it appears to have a relatively limited lineup so that made selection fairly simple.

I was concerned about the dried egg product in the ingredients, which is present in several of their formulations, since egg has been identified as a possible cat allergen. However, the aging boy Felix hasn’t seemed to become upset with this food, digestive or otherwise.

He’s probably eaten Blue Buffalo and American Journey the most in his younger days so the transition to this food was likely familiar. I’ve been told cats broaden their palate of what constitutes food or not-food when they’re very young so variety and exposure can go a long way as kittens to hopefully prevent future finicky behavior.

So far he’s been picking this food out to eat and leaving behind the specialized diet urinary food I’m trying to get him to eat! He hasn’t had a vomiting episode as of yet that would implicate this food as the culprit and he can be prone to throwing up, so that’s good news.

My senior kitty Spike (er Doo) was eating the Purina one senior kitty hard food and thriving. One day I opened a new bag and she wouldn’t touch it. None of my 11 cats would. I’m guessing they changed the formula.

Fast forward a week and a bit of money and I found this. Tried all the senior hard food on the market and this was the clear winner. It’s the only one she went back to time and time again. Thank you Iams for making yummy nummies for my little princess.

I have older cats and was researching for a dry food that would help keep them healthy. After receiving this in the mail, my cats were showing signs of stomach problems and almost stopped eating entirely over the next few months.

I recently took one of them to the vet and described in detail the care they were given. It was then advised that I check the expiration on the cat food bag. It had expired March 17,2021. I received it in December.

I will now be extra vigilant looking at the expiration dates of everything I order online, because this was frustrating and expensive.

The biggest selling point of this food is its price, assuming you don’t have a fussy cat. When we first adopted our two little ones at the start of 2019, we explored some food options and after some months landed on this canned chicken food.

Both cats seemed to enjoy it without fuss and ate 3 meals a day, sharing a 5. 5 oz can. However, come the turn of 2022 our cats would stop eating it. We tried purchasing a different case, thinking maybe it was just a bad batch, but no luck.

We tried other wholehearted wet cat food flavors and they refused. We ended up switching over to Soulistic and Weruva as a result of this, which are far more expensive options but have good ingredients.

I would have loved to stick with wholehearted as it’s the cheapest stuff you can get really, but COVID and supply chains must have caused them to change their ingredients/recipe or source something differently because whatever changed had turned my cats off.

Even now, a year and a half later, after one cat passed I tried to offer the one remaining a chance to return to the wholehearted wet food as well as the wholehearted dry chicken flavor and she still hates it.

She will eat the dry begrudgingly but will literally walk away from wholehearted wet food and starve rather than eat it. I wish I knew what happened, and I wish I could prove it, but as I said, my cats must smell something that I can’t recognize because they have wholeheartedly said no to wholehearted.

Feed your cats at your own risk I suppose, and if they aren’t fussy, it is at least the cheapest way to keep your cat fed wet food (and probably dry too for that matter).

Pros: Agreed with the group, liked by the group, listed ingredients Cons: dark and smelly and full of strange assorted bits — not flakes Made in Thailand. As per the list of pros and cons, the cats liked this and tolerated it well.

The food is the smelliest out of all of the Wholehearted fish varieties we have tried. I wanted to rotate my cats’ diet to a chicken-free diet as they have been eating chicken for years. If you are familiar with the Wholehearted grain-free chicken flakes, this is not like flakes, it is more like morsels, but not like the formed morsels.

Morsels as in bits of this and that in a thick base. I found a string of something, and just odd bits. Knowing that it’s produced overseas, this made the quality a bit suspect to me. For Wholehearted canned fish, I will stick to the Pate (often out-of-stock and sometimes more mousse-like as it should be, and sometimes like a dried-out version of mousse) and the Tuna and Salmon Morsels (looks like mushy cardboard, but at least looks like pet food).

When I opened this minced food, I’ll admit that I was surprised. Other minced catfoods I’ve seen in the past are really fake looking, but since that had been the norm for me, I had to do a double take.

This cat food looked like actual meat minced into small chunks instead of weird, artificial chunks. My cat is a senior cat with a history of hyperthyroid issues, so I’m picky about what I give her. I try to steer clear of anything with a bunch of weird ingredients, and as much as kitty likes it, we have to skip anything with fish in it.

The cat also gets an upset stomach easily, so I have to watch it when switching things up. At the same time, she gets bored easily, so we often try new foods. I was really pleased with this food overall.

It’s made with good ingredients, and my cat was immediately excited to chow down on this new flavor. She didn’t have any digestive issues switching to this one either. I would definitely buy this again.

Side note: The food comes in sturdy cans with pulltops. This is important to me because it’s convenient, and the food made it to my house without getting super-dented or busting.

I love the clear and attractive design of the packaging, offering you all the information you need upfront with ease. On the back it is easy to work out daily feed amount with both weight and age recommendations.

The package quality if fab for my household, because Vinny our 17 year old cat who this is for, is somewhat of a rascal and over the years has managed to rip through many food cartons to feed himself after opening cupboards.

So to feel a nice firm but also recyclable plastic is great. This 3kg Turkey flavour senior food designed especially for sterilised cats is something we have never come across before, it doesn’t have a overly strong or offensive smell and the kibble is a nice small size for an ageing cat.

There are also lots of added vitamins but no added colours or flavourings, kudos on this front. At 17 our boy has tried many foods and these days is fussy, he has been known to turn tail after a sniff without even taking a bite, but as soon as the bowl went down in front of him, he was eating and for the first time in maybe 3 years he emptied that bowl and within the hour was sat by it meowing for more! I would say we are off to a flying start! Vinny is regularly asking to be fed, which is an improvement, this had been something that had began to wane over the last few years, we had put this down to old age (along with his slight drop in weight).

Well I’m pleased to report that we have seen an increased appetite and a gain of weight thanks to his love of this food! He is looking sprightly and acting more youthful even. He’s made quite a dent in the bag and is very vocal the second he see’s it, thats a huge thumbs up from this fussy moggy.

Both a visiting friend and the mother-in-law have spotted the difference in him and enquired about it, we can only put it down to this food, and to that end highly recommend it. The balance of vitamins and nutrition as well as taste have hit the right note, and a positive change in our well loved old boy means we are a permanent customer going forward.

So I wanted to try the Pro Plan Optilight Dry Cat Food for a couple of reasons-my cat is slightly overweight and his hair is shedding all over the place. He is a massive fan of everything containing fish.

The dry food we have the chance to try is Turkey and Rice. I am not sure if this is the reason but he is eating less. We started feeding him with Purina Pro Plan on the 19th of July as we’ve been abroad at the time of the actual delivery.

The bag is 3 kg and the kibbles are on the small side, easy to eat and not too stinky which is a plus in the hot weather. I haven’t noticed the chance of the hair shedding yet but I am an optimist and I’d give it some more time.

I am scoring the product 4 stars just because he hasn’t been long enough on it so I can see all benefits. Though he is not eating as much as when we buy his usual favourite brand he is not as greedy as he used to be so I count this as a great plus.

I will probably keep buying Purina Pro Plan in future and to be honest, can’t wait until the next vet appointment to see how much weight he has lost. We are constantly reminded he needs to be on a diet.

upon opening my package when it first arrived, I was really surprised by the quality of this new range of cat food. The targeted benefits were clearly stated on the outer packaging as well as guidelines on how much to feed your cat according to their age and weight.

The dry food had a nice aroma to it and was a nice size. My cat was instantly intrigued when I opened the packet and he was very eager to try it out. My cat is a sterilised adult and enjoys both his wet and dry food.

He is an indoor/outdoor cat so requires the right amount of nutrients to ensure he stays and looks healthy. After a few days of trailing this dry food on my cat, I can already notice the added benefits it is delivering to him.

He is full of more energy, his coat is shinier and he is eager to have his food when he comes in from outside. I would highly recommend this new range to any cat owner and you will see a difference in your cat.

My cat will eat anything. (Literally. I’ve seen him eat a Pringle, a bite of hotdog — plus the bun! He even tried to steal my Chipotle right off my plate once. ) Hard cat food does not interest him though.

*Backstory here: before we adopted him from a local shelter, he, all his siblings, parents and I believe another cat family were living with their human until the human died. So before anyone realized it, the cats were left to fend for themselves and I think they worried about where their next meal was coming from.

So they ate whatever they could find. We don’t feed him human food…but if it’s left sitting in his reach he will go for it! Thankfully he’s becoming more understanding that we will always have food for him.

At this point, he’s spoiled and just prefers the wet variety! For this reason I think he finds hard cat food boring, but he eats it. When we got this Now Fresh he was literally biting the bag trying to get into it! We may be getting more to see if maybe he will get less picky! Picture is him immediately after coming in my office.

I normally do not do this, but I am going to write this review. This food has really changed my cats’ lives for the better. I have (2) cats that are 13 years old and approaching 14. They used to regurgitate their old cat food (which is a very expensive well known brand that is supposed to cater to sensitive stomachs and senior cats) and I would have around 7-8 piles to clean up a week and this has been an issue for years.

I used to think that this was part of my cats getting older. I can tell you I been using this for 2-3 weeks now and I have not cleaned up a single pile. This food is very small and easy for them to digest.

My cats are very active and their coats are very shiny and soft now. After having my cats for as many years that I have, I can tell that they are a lot happier and I can tell a change in litter box. Even the stool is fuller and not super dry and hard which I am assuming is helping the cat go to the bathroom.

I will for sure continue to purchase this food until there is not a need to purchase cat food anymore.

I received this product free from Influenster for my honest review. My cats instantly were all over the bag when I opened it. We have 2 senior cats and my oldest boy couldn’t wait for me to put it in his bowl.

Anyone with senior cats can probably tell you vomiting can be an issue, since starting this food my sensitive stomach kitty hasn’t vomited once! My long haired boys coat is even looking shiner! The pieces of food themselves are smaller than your average size which allows for older cats with sensitive teeth to eat it easier.

If you do have a cat that eats fast this can be problematic though as they can easily swallow the pieces whole and end up vomiting. I really like that the bag has a thick Velcro like seal on the inside to keep in freshness and make sealing an easy task.

The resealable bags with a thin seal always seems to open and not seal tight and this thicker sturdier seal gets the job done with no fighting. All around this is a hit in our home!.

This food is not bad my cat likes the taste and it doesn’t upset her tummy. The only issue I have with it is the third ingredient on the package is corn. Corn is not healthy for cats; it is just a filler that pet food companies use to increase their profit margins.

Granted some cat foods have corn as the very first ingredient, and I would never ever buy those. Science diet has chicken as the very first ingredient, which is the only reason I’m still willing to purchase it, but ideally a cat food should not have ANY corn in it at all.

Additionally, I don’t see any promise on the package that Science Diet does not contain any meat by-product. If you want a cat food that has no corn, wheat, soy, or meat by-products check out Blue Buffalo.

It is more expensive though, and higher in calories than Science Diet. I guess there is no perfect cat food out there just yet. The bottom line is, if Science Diet truly had your cats health as their first priority, there would not be any corn in their cat food.

I have been buying this food for a while now for my 11 pound Yorkie. This is not a Chewy problem. This is a Blue Buffalo problem. So the pellet usually is a very small biscuit, which is why I buy it.

I stock up on food so I will always have food for my dogs if times are hard, so I have probably had this bag a year. The pellet size looks more like a small rabbit pellet, about 3 times the length of all the food I bought before of this brand and type.

I worked in a feed mill for Land O’ Lakes for 16 years. The bigger the chunk or pellet, the faster you can push it through the pellet mill/die = more production. Or the pellet operator set the knives that cut off the pellet totally wrong.

Anyway, my dog doesn’t finish the bowl since I opened this bag, I throw half of it away. And I have two more bags that might be the same length. She just doesn’t like the bigger pellet. Next time, I buy different food.

KittyBear was on this when we first adopted him and we switched him to a different brand and a wet food as recommended because he has very little teeth left due to old age and spending most of his life alone or in the shelter.

Anyways, somebody gave us a bag of this after their kitty passed away because they couldn’t use it. I couldn’t refuse the bag because I didn’t want to hurt their feelings so I took it thinking I could give it to someone else.

Well let me tell you, as soon as a I put that bag in KittyBear’s room (yes he has his own room lol) he flipped and started scratching at it. I gave him a little and he acted like he had eaten his first meal in weeks! Long story short, he snubbed his wet food and ONLY wanted this after that.

It has great ingredients and he’s been acting a little more spry since being on it, so I can tell its doing good for his body. I will only buy this from now on.

I bought this hairball formula in hopes of slowing down the rate of hairballs our cat would have and it led to a whole ‘nother array of problems. I had been feeding our cat the original Purina Chicken/Rice combo and she took it fine and we had no problems.

The moment we switched over to this formula, our cat started having random sneeze attacks and many instances of gagging. While we thought “I guess it’s doing the trick, gagging but no hairball” it was definitely not worth the discomfort it brought onto our cat.

She also started having incontrollable poops. She’s very good about using her litter box but on this food she would just have to instantly squat all over the house. A lot of the times it was pretty liquidy too.

Last but not least, there was also some vomiting. So while we didn’t see as many hairballs, the vomiting made up for that (chunks of dry food). We bought a new brand and she has been back to normal since.

In case this hasn’t convinced you: we also went away for a weekend with a cat-sitter on duty but didn’t clarify which bag to feed from. She ended up feeding her this hairball formula one more time and immediately saw the same results.

(Quickly corrected when she messaged us and is back on her good food). I would NOT recommend this product to cat owners. I still had the majority of the bag and it’s now straight to the trash because I don’t want anyone else’s cat to have the same reaction.

When I adopted a 14-month-old female cat in August 2021, I wasn’t told she was pregnant (and maybe the owner didn’t know). I hadn’t yet taken her to my veterinarian, but was thinking of getting that done soon, especially because she was starting to look “chubby.

” In October, she gave birth in my closet to one kitten. I knew I needed to get them checked, and it being a Saturday, I had to take them to an “emergency” vet clinic. After a couple of hours waiting in the lobby of the “first come/first served” clinic, we were seen and the veterinarian discovered there were still two kittens in the womb, the much larger one blocking exit of the other.

A C-section was performed. Both kittens were not breathing and CPR was performed, but only the smaller kitten survived. So 2 kittens, and in 30+ years of having cats, I had never before had a kitten.

Within 2 days, my regular veterinarian saw all 3, and recommended I get dry kitten food for the mama cat and, soon enough, the kittens. I reviewed several online lists of the “10 best dry kitten foods,” All contained Purina One +Plus Healthy Kitten Formula.

I started out getting the 3. 5 lb. bags, but soon had to purchase them SO often. Purina offered me a $5 coupon on 6 lb. or greater bag, so I found 16 lb. bags at PetSmart and used it there. The mama cat and 2 kittens all LOVE the Purina dry kitten food, nearly to the exclusion of proffered wet kitten foods.

All are doing well and the kittens, especially, are so full of life and rambunctious !.

Years ago I had a male cat that would get urinary tract infections (fixed male cats are the most likely to get one) and I learned about watching the ash content within my cats’ food. The 3 cats I had at the time were all long haired (different breeds) and so hair balls were common.

So, I was looking for a cat food with low ash content that would help prevent urinary tract infections while also breaking down hair balls so my cats could get rid of excess hair in their digestive systems and, oh yes, has meat as the first ingredient.

For a while I was mixing Purina One Hairball Formula and Purina one Urinary Tract Health formula and a little later I added the Senior Cat formula. It was a hassle. Plus I wasn’t sure if I should make the mixture equal parts between the formulas or should there be more of one and less of the others? Then Purina One came out with it’s indoor formula and it pretty much did it all! It was for all life stages, it had low ash and had the ingredients that promoted urinary tract health (yes, I’m a label reader and proud of it too), plus the ingredients to break down hairballs, and it has Turkey as the first ingredient.

It had everything! I changed over and my cats down through the years have loved it. I also feed it to the feral/ wild cats in the neighborhood. It helps to keep their waste from being so rank.

The food is made with real chicken, something my cats accustomed to as we feed them chunks of chicken everyday too. We can tell our cats, who are absolute picky eaters were skeptical at first yet accepting it after a few more sniffy inspections.

So, we are confident that our cats have come to a conclusion that the canned wet food is indeed made with real chicken as claimed. As our vet has suggested to mix food that we prepared ourselves with commercial ones with vitamins and nutrients added to ensure our cats are well nourished, this is to prevent any likelihood that own cooked food may lack such.

So Purina Pro Plan Complete Essentials definitely can fill that void as it is high in protein with ingredients that has antioxidants to strengthen their immune system whilst omega-6 fatty acids and vitamin helped to keep their skin and coat in top shape.

Most importantly, my cats seemed to enjoy the food; so highly recommended by them!.

Love that WalMart had the cat food recommended by my vet. BUT was distressed when I opened the package and 12 of the 24 cans were dented. Not just dinged. Really dented so that they were leaking. and therefore unusable.

It was due to both the packaging and the packing. AND the FEDEX delivery! 1) The Purina box was way too short giving zero support on the sides to of the top row of cans (thus the 12 out of 24 damage).

2) But also the packing was one strip of bubble wrap tossed in on top of the cans. nothing wrapped around the sides of the low Purina box and not enough on top to provide any kind of stabilization to the box contents.

And a double whammy: 3) The entire side of the box was wet for some reason. And Finally, the FEDEX driver placed the WalMart box on a shelf on the patio grill. and I couldn’t find it for a long time.

It’s only 10 steps to my front door and everyone else delivers packages right up to the door. When I looked out my door in search of the box throughout the day, it was no where to be seen. I went out in the freezing weather twice and didn’t find it until my 3rd attempt when I’d gone into the garage, raised the door, and was backing out to drive around the yard to see if I could find it.

(I’m 74, walk with a cane, and am never grumpy. so you can see why I felt as if I’d struck out. 3 for 3!) This was too bad because I’ve always given both WalMart and FedEx 5 stars!.

My kitten is obsessed with this food. It was recommended by my vet as a good option as well as Hills brand food because both companies have heavily researched ingredients supporting what’s known as a science diet (as opposed to a wholistic diet, which is also a good option).

Kittens need a lot of protein for the whole first year of their life (not just when they look tiny) and this product delivers exactly that. I’ve given him other brands which he happily eats, but this one makes him extra excited (ie he screams his adorable little head off in anticipation when I open the can and he makes sure to lick the bowls completely clean).

A knowledgeable local pet store employee also endorsed this brand as a great science diet option because of its first few ingredients. He also recommended giving cats food with chicken liver as an ingredient and that’s one of the three varieties in this pack along with white ocean fish and salmon.

My cat loves all of them. This is the way to go!.

I was quite excited to receive this kitty VoxBox free from #Wellness and #Influenster just in time for my Ocicat, Kopi’s 17th birthday. Kopi has gotten a bit picky about what he will eat as he’s gotten older and mostly subsists on a diet that I don’t love nutritionally, but that he loves.

If he will eat it, he gets it is the new Kopi feeding rule in my house. Anyway, much to my surprise great pleasure Kopi likes this kibble ate quite a bit of it at his first sitting. I mix it in with the treats he gets because I do still prefer him to eat canned food since drinking water kidney problems can be issues with older cats.

Regardless, I do think that this is a great kibble option will likely buy it in the future since Kopi likes it it is of higher quality than what he currently eats.

When it comes to cat food I usually stick to the more budget brands because my pockets aren’t that deep. I have three cats, one female and her two sons. They aren’t too picky when it comes to kibble, but they do have their phases when the usual isn’t good enough.

This had me worried I wasn’t going to be able to feed them anything else after trying this food. Compared to what I usually feed, the kibble is substantially smaller. I would say they are about the size of peppercorns.

I don’t have any kittens, but my grown adult cats had no problem with the size. The smaller size also made it easier for my oldest cat to eat. The chicken meal and rice recipe is a flavor my cats really enjoy because they would devour this kibble and beg for more.

Even though I find their constant meows for more food to be annoying, I am glad they are enjoying the food. I love when I look at the ingredients and the first things I see is not cheap ingredients like corn or wheat.

In this case the first few ingredients are chicken meal, brewers rice, deboned chicken, pea fiber and turkey meal. Which are all a fine choice to have in a good quality feed. This food also claims to serve as natural hairball control, but my cats don’t suffer from this problem so I don’t know how effective it is.

However, I think it is still a nice benefit to have as cats do groom themselves and it can’t hurt with the occasional hairball. Other than the hairball management the feed also has more great benefits for my cats that are great for their health.

The bag says it supports their digestion, metabolism, skin and coat which are all very important to a cats overall health. My cats really love this food and I like the ingredients and benefits of feeding it to them.

The only criticism I would have for the brand is to make this great stuff available in larger bags as a 5 pound bag won’t last long with three cats.

As an owner of a cat, that is considered geriatric in cat years, this hard food is a great nutritional source for my cat’s overall wellness. This food boasts ingredients that are conducive to a cat’s overall well-being such as hairball management, healthy skin and coat, metabolism and digestion.

The ingredients have added vitamins, minerals, and trace nutrients all of which balances and enhances my cat’s overall wellness. My cat, a gray and black, tiger-striped tabby cat, who I affectionately call, Salt because of his colors is a male that requires a combination of both soft and hard foods within his diet.

I try to really ensure that both are evenly balanced. Thus far, he seems to thoroughly enjoy this food as I have transitioned him into eating it slowly; as a result, I have not experienced him throwing up his food which demonstrates his digestive system is accommodating this food well.

I love that the kibbles are smaller in size which helps me to monitor his consumption per meal. He has eaten the can of Pate’ Chicken Entrée and he seemingly liked it as well! I prefer feeding him 3oz cans which helps me monitor his consumption during meals.

I am elated about this product and what it is doing for my beloved, Salt’s overall well-being. I am planning to make future purchases of this awesome product!.

My 9 cats love this food. I feel so much better about their food when they eat Nutro. The price is a bit high, but lets be honest, you get what you pay for and the healthier the food and options, the pricier it can be.

I rescue and also feed feral cat colonies. Although I can’t feed this to them regularly, I can definitely get them some good food periodically. I do this all with my own money so it is tough, but when I can, this is my favorite food for them since the verdict is all of them love it.

Customer Service Chewy Image11/27/2021 05:31 PM I was told by Nutro that they still produced 2 dry adult dog foods that still used selenium yeast and not sodium selenite. The Ultra and the Limited Ingredient Diet.

Your web page shows on the ingredient information view for the Limited that Selenium Yeast is used but on the bag I received ,the ingredient information shows Sodium Selenite. Apparently Nutro has changed to using the Selenite.

You should update the ingredient information view to reflect the apparent change.

I adopted a three year old, male cat from a shelter I worked at for most of 2020. Chandler–my rescue kitty–always had crusty skin and regular hair loss; upon taking him to the vet, I found out he suffered from severe flea dermatitis as well as “unknown allergies”.

I did quite a lot of research into common food allergies and discovered that most cats suffering from skin sensitivities react poorly to most foods. I decided to take Chandler off of all food that contained beef byproducts and spent an afternoon researching different food brands before choosing this brand.

Not only does Chandler absolutely LOVE this food, his skin has completely cleared up. I do not notice any scabs, hair loss, or irritation on him. I highly recommend including fish oil with this crunchy food–it is amazing for skin sensitivities and over all very healthy!.

I have a tiny 7 lb 10 yr old rescue Bengal Cat who was brought into the shelter by the owner half bald and starved (from what the Foster Mom told me) turned out to be a severe allergy to Chicken (causing diarrhea pand runny eyes) and other health issues.

It took 6 months in Foster Care for her fur to grow back in enough to cover the pink & recognize her as a spotted Bengal, and many (most?) of her teeth were reabsorbed or pulled by the vet. Her tail is bonier than my finger and looks like a long bee stinger.

But other than that, she is a totally little cuddlebug that melts into my arms when picked up, loves to explore & play, and is VERY fiesty. She needed a very clean and healthy diet to rebuild her immune system, muscles, fur, and liver function.

Almost all Cat foods, even Seafood flavors, have some form of Chicken as their 3rd ingredient, and a ton of cheap starchy fillers. A wild cat’s diet is only 2% carbs (mostly from whatever is in Mouse guts) and high carb food just feeds all sorts of feline diseases, so I minimze feeding cat chow.

Problem is she LOVES chicken and human food, and finding a flavorful and healthy Chicken-less high protein cat food she would consistantly eat has been difficult. She would scarf down a new food 2 days, and as soon as I bought a case, she wouldnt touch it.

She also then would not eat whatever previously liked food I mixed into it. Most of these foods were $2-$3 for a little 3 to 5. 5 oz can, and she was either eating 2 or 3 per day or it was ending up down the disposal if my other spotted cat also wouldn’t eat it.

The Wellness is liked by both cats, healthy, Chicken-less, and only $3 for a 12 oz can. One reviewer said she found nematodes in the food. 4 out 5 animals on earth are Nematode worms, and a handful of soil has thousands (so raw vegans probably eat millions).

There are 20,000 different nematodes, and many (most?) are less than a. in size. So is it a concern? Only if it is live roundworms, but no one has found those in canned food. As for the people comparing Wellness to Friskies (or even Purina), and ignorant of the cheap ‘filler’ ingredients plus ‘meat by-products’ (scrapings off the slaughterhouse floor) will only result in high vet bills for years in the end when the kidneys start to fail, stones build up, cancerous growths need surgery, and/or diabetes sets in.

Being an ‘Active Senior’ and hating going to the doctors for aches & pains myself (and always a ton of blood tests since Docs have forgotten how to do clinical diagnosis) only to find out it has no cure in Western Medicine, I want to make sure my cats are healthy and remain Active Seniors, too.

Vetinary is actually more advanced than human medicine, since researchers could kill and open up their sick test subjects. A farmer would not want to spend $500 in vet bills on a $200 pork-pig, so cures had to be inexpensive and effective.

The farmer would also have their Vet sacrifice a sick pig and have it examined up close to save the herd from an illness. Pediatricians can’t do that. So bottom line: Learn about nutrition & health, & feed your cats high quality foods like Wellness, even if it is not something you would personally find appealling.

You can experiment on your animals, too. See how a nutritious organic near-natural diet compares to chow (cereal based) or prescription diet full of GMO grains full of gluten & RoundUp. Then see how little things like cutting out dairy (a hormone-filled baby cow food, designed to quickly create big cows) improves your own health.

I have had to find an alternative to the food that was endorsed by the adoption organization because of extreme shortages and supply chain issues with the brand I was told to use. We will call it “A brand” as it was the go-to for about 10 months of their lives.

When I expanded their flavors with “brand A” around hat time they eventually began snubbing poultry pate varieties in favor of only 2 available flavors that had a minced texture with the addition of some starch vegetables.

However, when those stopped being regularly available only a couple of months later, I was at a loss what to feed them. I threw away a case worth of abandoned pate that just dried up in their dishes as they ate only dry kibble for a few weeks.

I figured they’d come back around but they were not having it. After some research I decided to try this and they accepted it readily. I am afraid of having the same issues by only having one “go to” brand so I have rotated this into their diet.

At this time I consider this one the best of the bunch because they clean their plates. I am considering trying other varieties of this brand but I will wait until we finish up something else that I want to rotate out of the mix.

The mince is small but it still has a perceivable chunk texture to it. Sometimes my cats remove the chunks and munch on them next to the plate but that doesn’t really bother me. I’m just happy they seem to enjoy eating wet food again.

I was really happy to have my kitten try wellness wet food! We received 6 tuna and 6 chicken complementary cans from Influenster and wellness pet food In exchange for my honest review ! I mixed the can with a bit of dry food my kitten (8 months old ) had left in his bowl and it didn’t last more than 2 minutes! He really loved it! I usually just stick with dry food but he loved it so much, I will integrate wet food into his diet a few times a week!! I switched my cat to this food as a result of the food she had been on for 4 years suddenly switching the recipe without notice which caused the poos. I had only noticed the recipe change after looking in the ingredients.

So we thought to try a better quality food and so far she likes it. She has to actually chew it so that is good plus she has lots more energy. So far she doesn’t have the squirts like her previous brand other recipe, still in the process of completely switch over.

Hopefully she can stay on this. Looks much more nutritious than other food too. Much darker brown and looks fresher.

I love that this food has not just meat but fruits and vegetables as well. No nasty additives. The cost for the amount of pounds is great too. The other food I was giving my cats has kept increasing their prices which has gotten quite expensive.

My cats love Natural Balance food as well. My cats are 2 years and 6 months, so having an All Ages option saves money as well.

My cat was constipated to the point of being sick and her stool was dark and hard. After about 4 days, she is now regular and a lot peppier. When I saw the ingredients (veggies and fruit) I never thought she would eat this but.

she loves it. Looks like she might be losing a little weight too but early to tell.

This is my Luna’s favorite. I love the ingredients used in Authority’s products. They’re very good for my girls. She always eats it very quickly so I assume that means she loves the flavor. It’s not the cheapest option out there, but you’re paying for a higher quality of ingredients.

My cat Louise seriously loves this food. She is currently eating up every last drop of it! As a picky eater, she absolutely loves this food and as her owner it makes me really happy to see her loving this food, as that is not something she always does.

The vet says my 5 year old tuxedo cat needs to lose a pound. Since ive fed her Authority brand since day 1, I was interested in trying this one. She likes their dry food, but his never been a wet food cat.

I gave her half a can with her dry food, and she ate it all. Its only weight loss if she is limited!.

Both of my cats eat this as well as wet food. My older cat has been eating this food for a couple years now after trial-and-error with multiple different foods. This has kept him at a healthy weight, is easy for him to eat, helps keeps his fur nice and soft, and helps give him the energy of a kitten.

My younger cat was introduced to this food when he was at the right age to start eating dry and he immediately took to it. It does the same for him as the older cat. The pieces are a good size for the kitties and they don’t seem to get tired of the flavor.

My parent’s rescue cat was struggling with allergies and the vet couldn’t figure out the problem. I recommended they try Nulo in case of a food allergy. After starting with this food, his allergies completely cleared up and it seemed to turn his health around for the better.

I will continue to buy from Nulo and support them as a company.

My cats LOVE the Nulo wet food and I’ve very pleased by the formula so I was excited to try the dry also. I chose this formula because it is for cats and kittens and I thought it would be a good choice for transitioning my almost-adult and my adult cat to the same food.

I was surprised to open the bag to find kibble that is 1/3 the size of the other kitten foods my kitten has eaten for her first year. The little circles are barely 1/4 inch in diameter while the Instinct (and others) were over 1/4 inch across in the middle.

It would take 2-3 pieces of Nulo to = 1 piece of Instinct. I do still love the brand so I plan to do my homework on the kibble size before purchasing another bag. When I was mixing in this food with the larger kibble, it sank to the bottom and I ended up with little bits in the bottom of the feeder.

Once 100% on this food, it made a big mess around the feeder. It falls out of their mouths as they chew and they don’t want to eat the little bits left behind. To use it up, I sprinkled the partial bits into their wet food.

This would be appropriate for young kittens or for adults with the need for tiny kibble but it isn’t ideal for my cats. As disappointed as I am in the food, I LOVE the packaging–so one star for the food and one star for the packaging.

The bag has this neat almost velcro-like closure which is very convenient and doesn’t pop open like the ziploc-type closures or the bags you have to cut open and then tape or clip closed.

We adopted a kitten in June at 10 weeks old. She came from a rescue where she was getting Kitten Chow and canned food. Her belly was bloated and she had terrible gas. The vet gave her another round of wormer and told us to keep an eye on her.

The wormer didn’t change anything so I decided to change her food. I kept her on the same canned food, but knowing Kitten Chow is pretty low quality, started with the dry food. I went with Nulo because the first 5 ingredients were meat.

Within a few days the bloating and gas went down and after about a month she was all cleared up. She’s been on it for a few months now. She seems to like the taste and the bites are small enough for her little mouth.

I had been doing another senior formula and my cats were so so about it. I give them wet food in the AM for hydration and 10 greenies total for treats. I tried this bc 2/4 kitties has loose stool and is long haired.

Awful. Tried the vet forumila but they didn’t really love and didn’t help. They all love this formula !! Only one is a senior we shall see if it helps with her get up and go. but the vet said it wouldn’t hurt the other 3 to munch on it as well as long as they weren’t kittens or pregnant moms.

All really thought it was treats and it’s always the first to go ! I also got a small bag of the naturals indoor and they all love that as well !! And of course all get their fancy feast in the morning by Purina 😉 spoiled.

I have found a new cat food. All I can say is that in surprised. I was already using Cat Chow cat food for my cat when I was picked to try the senior 7+ cat food. I figured what harm could it do. Well, he actually handles this so much better.

I never really thought about getting a food with specific age formulations for my cat but I’m so happy I was able to try it. The food is smaller in size which is a bonus since usually older cats can have teeth issues.

When we first put it out for him, he was hesitant but then once he walked over he decided to eat it all. I would recommend anyone who has an older cat to switch and try this formulation. They won’t be sorry.

This contains several grains, all of which are not really good for cats. At least the first ingredient is chicken by-product meal. We take care of homeless cats, and unfortunately cannot afford to feed them as well as would like.

So we give them meat or canned food, and supplement with this dry food. The cats all seem to like this one, unlike some of the others we have tried.

We don’t know her exact age, because she lived in two previous homes before we adopted her. However, our fairly fussy cat was very impressed when we first tried her on the Perfect Fit Adult 1+ Dry Cat Food chicken and salmon varieties and she has been enjoying them for the past few years.

Now that she is getting older, it seemed a good idea to try her on the Perfect Fit Senior version of dry food, so we bought 3 bags on impulse. So far, she has been showing signs of enjoying the new food and although she tends to “graze” throughout the day, she looks very forlorn when she has emptied her bowl before bedtime, so we add a small amount to keep her going during the night.

This is all three of my cats favourite biscuits, used to get them off amazon – 3 smaller bags which still didnt equate to 2. 8kg. The price seemed to double on there so I went on the hunt for a new supplier – which is where the petshop.

my cat is very fussy, just walks away if it is not too his taste. he goes hungry rather than be seen to eat what he rejects. But the Perfect Fit wet food and biscuits he will eat. Not every day or every meal but very regularly which is more than can be said for most of the wet catfoods.

Moved our cats into Royal cabin when we brought our 14 year old senior lady home – tremendously better than the Felix she had been eating! We give this to both our cats (1 is 2yr and the other 14yr) and they love it – our senior lady comes running at the mere suggestion she may get an extra sachet! Checked with our vets that it was suitable for the younger cat and got the full sign off – has all the same nutritional benefit as regular royal canin adult but with some additional ingredients obvs for the older cats to get extra support so that was a big factor in the decision Definitely recommend!.

I needed to find something extra tasty for my elderly cat (14), because she has been given medication and I really wanted to avoid poking tablets down her throat. She usually prefers dry food, but I thought I’d try mixing her medication in this because the reviews confirm that it is extremely palatable.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that my cat went absolutely nuts when she got a whiff of the food and enthusiastically licks the bowl clean everytime, even with the powder mixed in!!.

I have 2 senior cats – one of them is a bit of a fussy eater. Both sniffed the Royal Canin 12 plus dry food & decided it was great. Usually there is leftover dry food in both their bowls but not with this.

Now they nag for dinner each night – usually before it’s time to have it. They have only been on it for 3 days so I can’t comment on any health impacts. To find a good quality dry food that they both love is a bonus.

My only concern is that they might become bored with the flavour, but for now they love it.

Right off the top, the instructions on the bag are clear and correct – for example they suggest mixing the cats old and new food together to prevent upsetting your pets stomach. I felt like the producer was knowledgeable and caring based on that start.

The packaging was good, my cat tried to run away with the bag and it held strong. I have 3 cats so the bag was a bit small to really give it a good long try. Also, due to shipping issues with the company I typically use I could not mix the foods together.

My cats had no issues digesting this food, no mix, right from the start. It was easy on their stomachs. I could not see the effects on their skin, but I do know they had no breakouts or itching as with other foods we tried.

When I moved the cats back onto the old food, the old food upset their stomachs! All 3 cats ate the food with no issues. I would consider switching to this food on a more permanent basis. I would give it a longer test run to see if there are any issues that come up.

Our cat, Ninja, loves her new food! She gobbles it up each time. I love that it has good ingredients, it’s healthy, and has many flavours. The one we received has dental benefits which is a plus! I like the packaging.

The bag is easy to open and close and STAYS closed. I’ve had issues with her old brand, the bag won’t zip back up and you are no longer able to close it. I normally buy her old brand at a specialty pet store and it’s expensive.

The price has recently gone up a bit too. To make it worse, it’s been difficult finding her old brand during Covid-19, it seems they have been having supply issues. All things considered, I’ve been frustrated with the old brand and looking to make a switch.

I compared the price for both brands and vetdiet is significantly cheaper and the ingredients are better. Since Ninja loves her new food, we will be switching her to vetdiet going forward.

My sister’s kitten really liked this brand! I appreciate that this brand has chicken as its first ingredient, rather than ‘fillers’ such as corn. Vet-diet actually states that this product contains no wheat, corn or soy, and instead provides essential protein that kittens need to grow.

There are added antioxidants and prebiotics to support the immune system of kittens, which is beneficial to their growth and development! The package even provides a chart to ensure kittens are fed the recommended amount! Note: I was sent this product in exchange for a review.
