20 Best Cat Furniture Repellent (2022 Updated)

I bought these to keep our new cat off of our dining room table, and a shelf in the living room. Georgie had gotten up on the living room shelf in the night, and knocked everything off. EVEN ALEXA! We didn’t find her until morning.

Apparently Amazon needs to add a new Alexa skill: “Help! I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!” And his other favorite place to play in the dark is our dining room table. As you can see in the photo, these mats are less than daunting.

First, there aren’t enough for our table (the one on the shelf works). Even if I added the one from the living room, I would need 2 more. I crinkled some heavy duty foil to put in the gaps. That worked much better, as it didn’t move.

BUT, Georgie quickly realized he could just tap them over a bit, or push them off onto the floor, get up on the edge of the table, then bounce over. These mats don’t come with anything to keep them in place — they need little suction cups.

I tried to roll up painter’s tape to hold them in place, but it didn’t stick to them. They do, however, work on human feet very well! In all, I don’t know if I’ll order more for the table. I’ll probably try to find some that have something to hold them in place.

UPDATE – I returned them today. They’re useless on smoothe surfaces.

I was tired of my cat constantly jumping onto my computer desk and leaving footprints and hair all over. I saw this and thought this was the answer to my problem, I will say they worked; kitty hopped on the desk once, landed on the scat mat, and immediately jumped off.

I deducted one star â ï¸ because the quality felt really flimsy, as if a single bend would cause the plastic to break (it’s the hard type of plastic). Nevertheless, the mats served their purpose. So despite the cheap quality feel, I would buy these again if needed.

It was mixed results in the two cats that this was used on. It did deter one cat but not immediately and he became frightened of the user of the spray. The other cat actually liked it because it gives a cold burst of air, kind of like computer air in a can.

It is an aerosol can. It doesn’t seem very practical unless you keep the spray with you all the time. Basically, you have to spray the cat when they exhibit unwanted behavior, avoiding the face. I didn’t see any ingredients on the bottle or packaging.

To me this seems like the equivalent of using a spray bottle but it’s air. This may work well to break up a cat fight but we didn’t see results on aiding with other unwanted behavior.

My bold cat will not stop clawing up the carpeting in out bedrooms. As a renter, this causes a lot of stress. I’ve tried anything I can think of and tips from the vet or online research, Nothing deters him.

Since using Stop That behavior corrector he does it less. He still goes to the same spots over and over again. Although it has not stopped him completely I am relieved that it has made him do it less.

This is the first product that has even made stop some. When we hear or see him, we give a spray as directed and he stops, he won’t try again foo hours to sometimes the next day. I hope with continued use he’ll stop all together.

I like to think our two cats are the perfect little angels, but truth be told, they have a bit of a naughty side at times. Both like to use our furniture as a scratching post and they started climbing on my desk, which is usually full of stuff.

I needed something to correct their behavior. Sentry Stop That! is just that product I needed! The sound of the spray immediately makes them stop and I don’t have to worry about harming them. They have learned very quickly, what they should not be doing.

If your little angel has a bit of a naughty side, you can feel confident this product will curb that behavior and it won’t take long.

I believe this product works but you have to cover 80% of the area. I put it around the border of my flower bed. Didn’t keep them out. They just jumped over it. Had to buy more to cover most of the area and that’s only one flower bed! It’s a horrible expense one has to make to keep cats out of their property.

I do believe this helps but they find other places on your property to **** in or spray! Now it’s my patio. Had to buy furniture covers because I saw a cat lounging one day. Now they spray on the covers, which are costly.

Had to buy more of this product again to put where I saw spray marks. This product works, you just have to cover most of the area you want protected because cats are slick and they will find a way around it.

Bought this on a whim. Squirrels were climbing my bird feeder pole and robbing all my bird feeders. I cut about 2 inches off (the short) way and wrapped it under my lowest bird feeder on my pole. It must of been a good day to learn a lesson, about 8-12 squirrels came on over for breakfast, I was watching them, and they were watching me, watch them as they seem to not care if I throw rocks at them , yell at them, open the door and let it slam it, etc.

That first morning I just watched, they seemed disappointed that I didn’t try and scare them, but the first dude , who always climbs first to eat and then pushes all the seed off the platform feeders for the little guys to get some, started to climb.

I seen him stop and notice something different, but then he just kept on climbing. Then it happened. That mfer must of gotten the pokey thing in the exact spot that maybe is the equivalent to a human getting a sliver under their fingernail, because I never seen a squirrel flip out mid air and scream/bark as he did.

I spit my tea all over my front door and the other squirrels seemed so scared they couldn’t move, they could only watch their buddy freaking out. I actually felt bad for the squirrel, but it’s been a few days and no squirrel has attempted to climb the pole, let alone even come into my yard to even eat the seeds on the ground that are for the ducks, bunnies and chipmunks.

My next test is to put some fancy feast under a strip of it and see if it works on the cat that’s always trying to get my ducks. Will update once I get that going.

I put this mat on my front porch because my neighbors cats kept spraying my front door and pooping on my front door mat. I’ve been battling this behavior for YEARS with zero success. It was to the point where the paint on my door was peeling be use of all the urine eating through the paint.

I didn’t expect any miracles when I ordered this mat because I’ve had no success up to this point keeping the cats off my porch. I GOT A MIRACLE. The cats stopped spraying my front door and pooping on my porch the day I put the mat down and have not been back sense.

I never expected such a Big difference right away. My porch no longer smells and neither does the inside of my house. I chose this particular mat because the spikes are very close together and I noticed on other reviews to other mats that people said their cats would gingerly walk between the spikes and still *** on the area because they were spaced farther apart.

The spikes on this Matt are very close together. too small for a cat to walk between them. I have to step over this mat to get into my house and to me that is a small price to pay to not have cats peeing and pooping on my porch.

When I first got the mat it wanted to stay rolled up so I put some rocks and plants around the outside and now it stays down on its own. I still keep small plants on the corners of it though in order to keep the wind from blowing it around.

I would 100% recommend this mat for cat owners or anyone who wants to keep cats off their property!!!!!!.

I put a few planter boxes in front of my apartment and the neighborhood cats thought it was the best thing for you know what. Tried all sorts of things to keep the kitty out. My friends suggested cyan peppers or egg shells, wikipedia recommended coffee beans, my mom said to get a water bottle, and my uncle who is a farmer suggested toothpicks.

After failing with the natural deterrents and not wanting to try the toothpicks I found out about the “cat mat” listed here. Cons: I had to cut the mat to size which was sort of a pain because it was awkward and curling up.

As the plants grow up from the ground the small squares can impede development and the mat will need to be adjusted to accommodate. I also wish the package came with more stakes. Pros: I got home after being away and could tell the kitty tried to dig a little but did not like it and gave up without offering a deposit.

After a few weeks, the cat would just walk on by. Eventually, I was able to just put the mat around the border and it seems to do the trick. Total win for me.

Honestly, I got these because I have a fox stalking my birds. They need to add about 5-6 more yard staples to make it come close to enough to stabilize it and knowing how much the material costs to make these makes me wanna cry looking at the price tag.

but its a needed item. It is 1 of the better priced ones. But I need longer mat options. I hate trying to order and have a 10 item limit or needing 30 because the roll is cut shorter than I need with no longer options.

If the seller can make me a longer roll for a good price, I need more. im literally lining about an acre with them, because that’s how long my bird pens are (ish). And why the limit on how many I can buy if ur not sold out? I’d love a roll about 20 ft long.

just saying. Yes this stuff works. My digging pup decided to step on it, she decided it was a pain too much to bear and took off yipping. I am satisfied, but I worked in plastics, I know the prices on the equipment and the materials.

so that will always sting!.

So, I needed to replace my old scat mat (which I loved. it worked very well for many years). And considering the $$, it was a big deal for me. Now, it’s been several MONTHS (note: not years), and this “new” one is not working at all.

Well, I take that back, the “unit” makes noise and says it’s working, however it is not zapping anything or anyone. Not even a fly, which my old one would do. Besides that, having to remove the unit every time you need to replace the battery is a hassle, awkward, and sometimes literally a pain if you accidentally hit the side-mounted button that turns it on while trying to re-install the unit on the mat.

Which is almost inevitable. Additionally, I had ordered a previous “new design” but received the wrong size. Tried to use it in a different, larger area, and after an even shorter time, the wire started detaching itself from the mat.

So, money wasted on that one, too. I am so very disappointed in this “new design” I want to give it one star, I just can’t make myself do that because it *did* work and deter for a limited time. Just not my $$’s-worth.

Wish they’d change it all back.

I purchased different sized mats to deter my cats from marking in certain areas. I’ve used the previous generation mats from PetSafe which did allow for AC adapters. However, the AC adapters caused the mat to discharge every few seconds (not ideal at all).

That’s probably why the 2nd generation does support them. The new mats look a bit more robust & have a new controller. The new controller is better with a small display to let you know type of deterrent (sound/shock) as well as number of times it’s been triggered.

Battery life is decent but I only turn these on at night to extend battery life longer. However, there is no backlight on the display so you can’t see it in the dark. Otherwise, these mats do deter my cats & they avoid the area after the first shock.

I knocked down 1 star as the 2nd generation doesn’t support an AC adapter at all, has no backlight on the display & these are still pretty pricey.

This is not really the same product as before. I purchased this item a few years ago and thought that I would be getting the same thing but boy was I surprised. I should have known that there would be a difference when there was no longer an option to purchase the adapter.

My fur baby likes to constantly test the waters and see if the shock is still on and so the adapter is perfect since I can keep it plugged into an electrical socket. With this option you have to constantly change out the batteries.

WHO has the time for that. I can barely remember to change the batteries for the remote. This will be going back. Hopefully I can still find the 1st generation out there somewhere.

I purchased 1 can of Halt for myself and 1 for my neighbor. We walk our small dogs and have concern for coming upon a stray dog. Stray dogs are rare in out neighborhood but there is always the possibility.

Neither of us has had to use this product so I cannot speak to its effectiveness. The can appears easy to use and small enough to carry easily. There is comfort knowing that a method of defense is at hand if needed.

The shipping was very speedy. I think I received three days after ordering. Thank you Chewy. I rated this 4 stars because I have not had reason to test it.

I’ve been doing a daily fitness walk in my neighborhood for years. New people moved into the neighborhood, and during my walk, I unfortunately had to use this item as their dog came running out into the street after me with teeth bared and growling.

The spray stopped it in it’s tracks and it retreated to it’s yard rubbing it’s face on the grass. I felt bad, but keep you dog leashed or fenced when outside. I’ve owned 2 German Shepherds, and your dogs shouldn’t run free to attack walkers.

I do not need to tell any of you how terrible a dog attack on your pet is. This shoots a pretty good stream. But you have to keep some things in mind. Know which way the wind is blowing. It will get blown back at you.

It will not kill anybody elses pet but I am sure the argument afterwards is terrible. I did use this on a loose dog that went after me on my bike and also a cat that ran across my yard after my 9pound dog.

It worked. Get them in the face. These days when it is harder to get mace and carrying a stick is considered assaulting in some states I find these a very resonable preventative. And do not let your dog chew the can at home.

I got 3 of them because I have multiple couches that my dog cant resist. I had to use all 3 on one couch because they only cover a cushion each. They are battery operated, had to purchase batteries separately.

I leave them turned on all day (theres an on/off switch). When touched, they let out a quick high pitched sound. They work well, she has only been sleeping in her beds. I also like that she doesnt need to wear a collar with a sensor in order for it to work.

I will purchase more for the rest of the couches.

I have had several dogs and they like to sleep on the couch, ok, no problem. Well our new pup has a problem with digging. She has started to dig the cushions causing several hole. I bought one for the couch and love seat.

Now they stay off the couch completely. And they have even started laying in their own bed! Definitely recommend if you want to keep your pups off the furniture.

These worked well at first until I was at work one day and a pillow had fallen over on the mat causing the alarm to sound non stop. The alarm is very loud and high pitched. So just make sure there aren’t any objects around that could fall on the mats.

After about 2 years of using both of my mats just stopped working even after replacing the batteries. If mine hadn’t stopped working I would give it 4 stars.

So, I’ll start by saying that this did work. It was self explanatory so I set it up while my boyfriend read the instructions to see if there was anything we needed to know. My cat has a bad habit of hiding in our basement stairs and ripping up the carpet.

She like most cats, gets stressed about everything and things that’s how to deal with it despite all her scratch toys. We’re obviously not fans of this and have taken to using pads that make noise when she walks on them.

The issue with those is that you have to cover three whole landing in our stairs which we use daily. This looked like a promising solution. So once setup, I showed my cat and let her get close until it went off.

It did what it needed to do and she ran away to her scratching post. While doing this, my boyfriend informed me that the instructions state that the product is not safe to get in our faces but it’s somehow fine to spray into my cat’s face.

I’m not really a fan of this knowledge and I’m skeptical of how it’s fine being sprayed in her face but not mine. We ultimately stopped using it for this reason since we didn’t feel it was safe for her.

So, it did work the one time. I’m unsure the long term effectiveness that it’d have though since we stopped using it once we learned this additional info and felt it unsafe.

We adopted a kitten a few months ago from our local shelter, all was well until recently when virtually every morning when I walked into the kitchen to discover him sleeping on the kitchen island, not only sleeping on it, he also knocks items off it onto the floor.

With the PetSafe SSSCat Spray Pet Deterrent, I did find attaching the top motion detector sprayer part to the canister as it comes separated somewhat difficult to do. It requires 4 AAA batteries (which are not included) to be inserted into the battery compartment located on top of the motion detector, on/off switch is also on the back side of the detector.

The spray angle can be adjusted up and down. I set up a web cam to record and then placed the can of SSSCat Spray Pet Deterrent on the island before bed and turned it on. Camera showed as he jumped upon the island it activated and sprayed him, he jumped down immediately only to jump back up repeatedly with same results.

After about five nights of him getting sprayed multiple times, I believe he finally realized it wasn’t a good idea to get up there anymore as he has not been seen on camera since. Definitely will be keeping a few cans on hand as I’m sure it won’t be long before I will be putting them to use.

We have two cats that attract about six other neighborhood or feral cats to our property. We have sprayed this to keep our own cats off the front porch and from under the deck, which the intruder cats love to frequent.

We are now down to two different cats continuing to visit. Many of the others have moved on. It is taking a little longer to break our own cats from visiting/marking the deck and front porch, but we’ll get there.

I have three cats in fenced in back yard. They are outdoor cats. I just want to keep them off the main turf area and allow on other areas in yard. I have treated the main turf areas with the concentrated spray for the last 5 days.

So far so good and am still observing and spraying the main turf area every day. Will continue for 7 to 8 days and see what happens.

I’ve used this cat mace for a couple of weeks and so far I am extremely happy! I’ve had 2 cats around my little pond and ending up missing 2 fish. I would find either at all hours of the day or night.

One cat would even sprawl out by the pond. The key is to be consistent in spraying, so they finally get the point it stinks to come around here!! Super fast shipping too!!.

Useless product because it does not scare my cat. He looks at the spray of the spray with curiosity and continues on his way.

Perfect to stop the cats sleeping on top of our cars! It’s simple to set up, lasts a long time and the refils are easy to order.

Does what I want with out upset the cat or dog I would definately recommend it

My cat for the past 8 years jumps on the counter to jump up on the fridge, then jumps up to open ledges around the kitchen, she also enjoys sitting in the christmas tree branches-all 10 lbs of her. So this can of ssscat shots out a spit of air and makes a sound that discourages her from even trying.

I very sparingly turn on the can aiming the perimeter as close and wide as possible,to what needs protecting when I leave the house, or go to bed. I also use foil under the tree over the presents (looks like ice- not a bad look actually) and the cats do not like foil either.

I stopped using ssscat for the cabinet crawl because the can of ssscat is way too expensive. so for that problem I keep non-breakable, non-dangerous storage in those spots giving no room to land. Bottom line: Don’t buy, not worth it, if you do, use only in specific areas short periods of time that keep your pets safe.

An excellent product tor keeping the cat away from counters, plants, or fish tanks, but proper placement is a big problem. Most of the contents are wasted when people set it off in heavily used areas such as counters and doors.

It has never worked in training the cat not to dash outside when a person opens the door to exit, because the person sets the device off and the cat is so fast, she is gone before it activates. It’s best use is keeping cats from digging in houseplant soil, upsetting trash containers and exploring kitchen surfaces when no one is home or at night.

It only takes a few squirts from the air can to dissuade the cat from wanting to use an area. Other family members turn off the device to prevent activation when they use an area, then don”t turn it back on when they leave; so inconsistent use only confuses the cat and she does not get trained.

So the best use of this device is when people are not using a room.

This stuff works well. but it’s only good for 100 sprays. Cats are a lot more stubborn than that, so it’s not nearly enough. Instead, I place the sensor/actuator on top of a can of compressed air that I buy at the h/w store for $6.

Much cheaper and lasts much longer. BUT you have to exercise care in prying off the original plastic air-spray trigger off the replacement cans. The price for these “original equipment” SSSCAT cans is unnecessarily greedy.

I work at a doggy daycare where we have to have these on us at all times and I really appreciate them. To be honest whenever a fight happens my first instinct is to just grab them and pull them apart so personally, I don’t use the citronella much.

I do know a dog trainer we work with who uses it ALL THE TIME though and he loves it. It does deter fights in most cases unless they’re really in a severe fight where they cannot be broken up. I would recommend using the spray first bc it’s an easy and quick way to get them to stop, and reaching in can get you very hurt.

I always just end up sticking my hands in and grabbing dogs but I will tell everyone else to use the spray!!! Our trainer also uses it on the more reactive dogs bc he says it has a calming effect on them.

It’s completely pet and human safe, i’ve seen this man spray himself in the face with citronella before to show people it doesn’t harm the dogs. He also likes to rub it on himself sometimes if the dogs tend to jump or nip.

I would say to definitely have one of these no matter if you’re a dog owner or you go to the park or not. It can be extremely helpful.

I have only deployed this spray twice in the past ten years, as a deterrent against dogs who have been off-lead and have approached me and my dogs in an aggressive manner. You have to be ready to use it at close range, so practise before deploying it.

A rapid and sustained (only a few seconds) spray will send the other dog running away. I have only used it on medium sized dogs, both bull terrier types, and only when there has been one dog. Thankfully, packs of dogs roaming the streets are a thing of the past.

I first purchased this spray after my cocker spaniel was savaged by a bull terrier who had escaped from its yard. Ever since I have never walk my dogs without it and continually check to make sure that it still works (and hasn’t leaked its contents).

While I may never use it again, just having it with me gives me greater confidence.

For years, we used this spray at the doggy daycare facilities to break up dog fights. It did work to break up the majority of fights oftentimes just long enough to get the dogs separated before they would attempt to resume fighting.

Direct Stop is a citronella spray meant to buy time and (hopefully) get dogs to release if they’re latched on. It will not end a dog fight completely nor stop a dog from pursuing you – continued defensive measures would still be necessary if the loose dog is not yet contained.

Direct Stop will not break up 100% of dog fights either. If a fight is serious enough or a dog persistent enough, not many things will work to deter or end it. Dogs will fight through water hoses sprayed in their face, ears being torn, being dumped in a pool, fire extinguishers emptied in their face – serious dog fights are hard to break up.

Many bark collars also use citronella so dogs with a history with bark collars are no longer detered by it. When purchasing this product, have reasonable expectations and a Plan B for if you are ever confronted by a loose dog when out with your dog or by yourself.

This is my first line of defense if I am confronted by an unfamiliar, aggressive dog but definitely not my only. It is also not a replacement for behavior modification. If your dog is fighting frequently with another dog in your home, please contact a trainer that uses scientifically supported methods.

I have three indoor male cats and on rare occasion, one will mark an area if he sees another cat outside the windows. This stuff works to get rid of the “organics” left behind in the carpet. Be sure to soak up (as much as possible with paper towels) the urine when you first find it.

Apply this product and then restrict access to the area (if possible) while it degrades the urine. I give it 2 wks and the problem is gone. I’ve had cats for most of my life and can tell when they discover a marked area.

Now, they ignore the previously marked area after this product does its magic. Just keep them away while the product is working so that they don’t reapply more urine. Wish this was available 20 yrs ago!! Thank you to the chemists!.

Dumb Cat works. It truly does as long as you use it as directed. I have three cats – one tends to stand up when he pees. While I have very tall, covered pans, once in a while, he shoots it out the hole.

One box is on tile, one on concrete, one on carpet. Dumb Cat eliminates the odor on all of them. It also eliminates the odor on the mats that are outside the pans, which catch most of his mess, but not all of it.

It’s also worked on a cloth tote bag of mine (and the clothes inside, ew) when he marked territorially once after a “visit” from a roaming neighborhood cat. I knew to get Dumb Cat when the need arose because it’s the only product we used at the cat-only vet practice where I worked.

The only thing there that it didn’t work on was a wood box where one of our disabled cats slept all day. But she had no bladder control and so the box was continually being soaked with urine. Dumb Cat was the only product that my boss would recommend to clients, and we sold it for years until we were no longer able to get it from our supplier.

We were thrilled when Petco started to carry it.

IšverstiShow in original languageBeware, if you look closely enough over 95% of the 5 star reviews are paid or incentive based. Nearly all other buyers were unsatisfied. Wouldn’t have bought this if I had noticed it earlier.

Walmart also seems to be pushing those 5 star incentive-based reviews to the top too which is a bad practice. Going forward I’ll be doing review research online outside of places like Amazon and Walmart.

com before buying items. This item is not worth your money or time, look for an alternative option.

You might want to take that statement off the bottle, as I sprayed by garden and flowers, it rained (drizzled) a very little not even a heavy rain, and the next day they ate it all, so I don’t believe it to be rain resistant at all, I spent 10 dollars on a product that doesn’t work and is mislabeled.

I’m very disappointed with this product/purchase.

IšverstiShow in original languageLast year squirrels ate about 80% of my crop of cherry and Better Girl tomatoes in my tiny backyard garden. I tried Tomcat animal repellent granules, and that worked for about two days.

I tried covering the plants with bird netting, but the squirrels chewed a hole right through it. This year I did a two-prong attack. I sprayed the actual developing tomatoes with Tomcat Animal Repellent liquid and I put out two squirrel feeders loaded with ear corn to provide an alternate source of food.

Aside from losing a few cherry tomatoes and a lot of ear corn, my system seems to be working, but I don’t know whether to credit Tomcat or the ear corn or both. Anyway, this year I have a good crop of tomatoes.

Like many gardeners, I have been known to allow myself some “splurges” in considering what to plant. This year it was a purchase of 30 saffron crocus bulbs. With much excitement, I ordered them back in February, for arrival in October, and spent the intervening months dreaming of all the saffron-infused recipes I would create.

Finally, along with fall rains, my saffron bulbs arrived, and my husband and I weighed where the best planting site might be. Ultimately deciding on putting them in several of the planter boxes on our kitchen deck railing, my husband headed out, bulbs in hand, to make that happen.

It would seem I wasn’t the only creature watching my husband with joy and delight from afar as he methodically planted those tiny bulbs. Back in the house, not even 10 minutes later, his profane roar revealed the SPEEDY arrival of a squirrel – perched next to the first planter, gaping hole in the dirt, MY crocus bulb lovingly cradled in his paws, gnawing for all he was worth to down that bulb before my husband could reach him.

What to do?? Thankfully, Gardener’s Supply came to our rescue with Cat Scat Mat! A quick measure of our planter boxes showed we’d need 2 rolls, which we ordered on the spot. The planters, in the meantime, came inside to put a door between my prized bulbs and those pesky squirrels.

Despite a cross-country jaunt from Vermont to Seattle, our purchase arrived within the week, and we busily measured, cut, securely installed our shiny new Cat Scat Mat with soil staples (also from Gardener’s Supply!), and returned our planters to the deck, now safely outfitted with a non-toxic barrier to further predation.

I bought the scat mat in December not because I was having cat problems in my garden, but to train my 9 month old kittens to not walk along a very high railing above the entry way in my house. It is remarkably effective as an indoor cat training tool! The spikes are spiky enough to discourage inquisitive kittens, but not spiky enough to really cause any damage.

It’s fabulous! Come next spring I know that there are going to be more than a few places where I can put the spikes in my garden that will help solve problems that I’ve had for years with bunnies and with birds.

All around an excellent and versatile product.

I don’t have problems with cats — the diggers in my garden, and especially in potted plants, are chipmunks. I turned the mats upside down, with the spikes sticking into the dirt, and they stay put pretty well.

I suppose a larger animal, like a cat, would still be able to move them around, but the chipmunks (so far) have not figured it out. I used to line all my pots with medium-sized stones, which works but adds heat and I’ve used up all the stones I can find.

This looks to be a good solution. Had to cut irregular pieces out of the roll, and overlap, but a well-placed stone covers gaps and helps hold the mats in place.

I live in a semirural area where mice or rats can get in anytime of year, but especially during the early Fall months when outdoor temperatures drop. I found it quite easy to hook up the spray attachment to the container.

I was not sure about the sprayer needing batteries at first, but when I operated it, I found that it sprayed very evenly and smoothly. If a person did not want a spray handle that uses batteries, the product can also be emptied into another spray bottle.

This is a very minor concern, since the product is only used about once per month. I sprayed this product in my laundry room and porch, which is where they tend to find a way in. I would say “so far, so good,” at this time, since I have not seen any rodents since I first sprayed this Tomcat repellent a week ago.

I did recently hear a mouse rooting around in a closet about 2 weeks ago, but since spraying this product, I have not seen or heard a mouse. I would have to use this product for a longer time to determine if it works over a long-term period, however, such as all through the Fall and Winter seasons.

As far as the scent, it has a very natural, fresh peppermint scent. It also contains cinnamon and garlic, but I do not pick up these scents much since the peppermint overshadows any possible stronger, offensive garlic smells it may have.

The scent is moderately strong and does linger on for several hours, so if strong peppermint scents bother you, you may want to use it at night or when you are not home. I really like that this product is totally natural and does not have any strong chemical ingredients or toxins, since I do have a dog in the house.

I recommend this to anyone who needs or wants a natural product to use that is also effective to repel rodents.

We have some neighborhood stray cats, so I was looking for something to put around the house that wouldn’t harm them. The Tomcat rodent repellent spray seemed like a good option. I’ve only done 2 applications so far.

I did all around the exterior of the house and then the garage walls and just inside the garage door to try and keep the rodents from entering the garage. It rained, so I did the exterior again and went ahead and doubled up inside the garage even though I probably didn’t need to since the rain wouldn’t affect that area.

Included sprayer is easy to use and works well. Although there is an initial scent when spraying it dissipates within a hour. After initial use it was sort of hard to tell if it was working or not, so I decided to spray around the deck as we do have racoons that like to venture onto our deck.

I can say in the 3 days since spraying the deck the racoons haven’t triggered our camera. Could just be a coincidence and only time will tell. So far I’m mixed as I can’t tell if it’s discouraging rodents or not inside the house and only time will tell.

Best thing I have used. Cats used our garden for years as their toilet. But once we had a toddler I wanted it to stop. I bought these not expecting anything but I have had them for a few months now and not one cat has poohed once since putting these in the bedding area.

They are like a miracle. Been using for several months through all weather and quality is great and batteries still not had to replace yet !!.

This product is absolutely brilliant. I was sceptical at first as I had bought something some years ago to scare off the cats fouling in my garden. I could hear the bleep from it and it didnt stop the cats.

But recently after re-doing my front rockery and putting netting around, I saw that a cat was in the rockery, I banged on the window and it jumped over the netting. Three minutes later I was still there and another cat came along, sat in front of the netting and then jumped over.

Time for action !! I bought a pack of three of these and put them in straightaway. The effect is amazing. I have Ring video cameras at the front of the house and to see the reaction of the cats is quite brilliant.

One of them, from across the road, who actually uses my soft soil for its toilet three times a week at least, came along as normal and stopped when it saw the scarer or heard the sonic and jumped back, squirmed a bit and then walked off.

An hour later it tried to come in from a different direction and got broadsided by one of the other scarers. It ran off !! Its fabulous !! A few of the other bigger cats do tend to walk past and steer away from it but even they are disappearing.

But the main thing is no fouling in the first week of use. I cant hear the sonic sound that they emit, I canonly hear a click when it picks up movement and a red light comes on, so it is not disturbing in anyway.

The one slight drawback is that the stake is in two pieces of aluminium and I really feel it could do with three pieces just so that it can be pushed into the ground a little bit more so its more stable, but it is only minor really.

I couldnt recommend it more highly.

Excellent product! I was skeptic about purchasing these types of productswondering if it really works. Im amazed, it works! It does give off a sonic sound, which causes not only the cats but also the foxes that come into my garden to scamper.

Its been just over a week and the batteries are still going, will keep monitoring and hopefully the cats/foxes will find elsewhere to do their business before I have to change the batteries.
