20 Best Cat Sling Carrier (2022 Updated)

My puppy doesn’t love it, but I do! I can take her shopping and have both hands available. I took her to the nail salon and got a pedicure and just had her stay in her bag on my lap. She does get really hot in it.

It would be better if it was more breathable.

I got it for my mini poodle puppy who likes being with me and going places. She likes it but unfortunately she will grow out of it, as the body is small and she won’t be able to use it. Good quality and easy to use.

Love this bag. My Maltese fits nicely with room for a small blanket. She love to be carried around.

Just received this and it’s perfect for my 8lb dog. She has a number of health issues and gets very nervous with storms etc so this will keep her much calmer by my side. Very well constructed. Soft and comfortable.

I got this for one of my chihuahuas who likes to be in my arms while I’m at the computer. Since I need both arms/hands to type, I had to figure out how to do that. Then I found this dog sling! Now I can be on the computer while he’s ‘snug as a bug in a rug’ in his sling! I highly recommend!.

9lb Yorkie has plenty of room to lie down in the SlowTon Hands-Free Padded & Adjustable Sling Dog & Cat Carrier. When lying down, she can’t be seen and cannot look out unless she stretches her neck. If she is sitting, she can see where she is going – the choice is hers.

There are two buttons that can be used to close the top if desired. Strap is adjustable, nicely padded and comfortable. Material is nice and somewhat ventilated. Can be machine washed and air dried. I found this more comfortable that the carriers that have two straps and sit on your front.

And, I can see her which I like better than a back pack. Since I couldn’t decide by looking at the picture and description online, I also ordered the Cozy Courier Pet Products Dog & Cat Carrier Sling but will be returning.

It is not as roomy – she barely fits lying down; however, she does not have to stretch her neck to see out either lying down or sitting. There seems to be some kind of plastic lining in between the material.

I wondered if this would be hot. The strap isn’t as comfortable for me.

My dog loves his new dog carrier! He’s a growing boy and has grow out of his old one, I’m so glad I bought this one! It fits him perfectly and it’s super comfortable around the shoulders. But I’m so glad I checked the bag before letting him jump in just like that, when I opened the dog bag I saw these very sharp scissor clippers in there.

I’m not sure if was accidentally put in there or if I was suppose to cut something on the bag, but from the looks of it I didn’t have to cut anything. Nevertheless I’m glad I managed to avoid my dog getting seriously hurt.

I’m not upset at all about the bag;it’s a great bag, for all I know these clippers could’ve just accidentally been packed with the bag, So if you’re see this, this is my warning, please double check this bag before letting your fur baby go in it.

I’d hate for anything to happen to them.

3. 5-4 stars. It is a bit deep for my elderly 13 year old long haired chihuahua (going to add a pad or blanket in bottom. ) While he likes being in it, once in it, he has a hard time finding the spot to settle down in becase he goes below the top, and likes his front paws out.

With regard to getting him into it, it would be better if you could flatten it out, stand the dog on it, and then have a pull cord to bring it up around him. This would make it easier to then put the occupied bag over your shoulder.

It is difficult to get him into it if wearing it first, he is slightly overweight and gets a bit frantic and splays his legs which get caught on the sides and then one goes in and the other comes out! However, once in it, he likes being up high, and can finally see what is on the counters, his nose sniffing away! It is easier for me (older as well) to cart him around this way, and helps to alleviate his anxiety over his decreased vision.

It is very comfortable to wear and carry my pooch in.

I purchased this cat cage for holiday travel over some very long drives (10 hours one-way) for my two cats. They’re a bonded pair and separating them into different carriers makes them nervous. First of all, this sucker is HUGE.

My boys are both on the smaller side, but even so, this carrier has more than enough room for both of them. That also means that it takes up my entire backseat, but that’s fine. I was also pleasantly surprised that the mesh actually held up to some ferocious attempts by one of my cats to escape.

I clip their claws, but I was still worried that they might break through if they tried hard enough. Luckily that didn’t happen and the mesh is still intact after two long drives. My only two complaints are: 1.

The soft mat at the bottom of the cage doesn’t velcro into place, so it slides around a lot if you can’t find a way to secure it. 2. There’s no built-in cover for the shorter mesh-sided door. Otherwise, this is an excellent carrier.

My cats love it. I leave it out all the time under my standing desk and they like to play and nap in it.

I got this because I thought the cave like area this carrier had would be good for helping my scardy cat adjust to being crated. My scardy boy absolutely refuses to get into crates, and he’s very wiggly so I have trouble getting him into them.

When I know I have to crate him I’ll set this crate out and leave it open for the cats to investigate and sleep in. They like how big and cave like it is so they often sleep in it. Although I still struggle with him, I can get my scardy boy in this crate and it works out because I can put his siblings in there with him so he doesn’t freak out so much when we travel.

Down sides of this crate are that it doesn’t have a firm bottom so the cats can “sink” and that the zipper isn’t as sturdy as I would like. The first time i used this crate my big boy popped the zipper open and both he and my scardy cat got out.

I do still use this, but I closely monitor my cats. I don’t think I would buy again just because I have learned that I need a sturdier crate.

I have a very smart cat who insists on getting on the table when I’m trying to eat dinner. He can also open doors (and turn on water) so shutting him in another room is not an option when he gets up for the second or third time.

I bought this for that reason. All three cats have been in and out of it when it’s set up. I’ve only had to shut Kulli in it once because they have fun playing in it when I open it up before dinner time.

As reviewers noted, it doesn’t stand up straight as in the picture. They easily tip it when playing in it. It has also been knocked flat by the smallest one jumping on it. Not to worry though–no damage done.

Kulli has also clawed at the screen windows and done no damage. It seems very sturdy. This cage would have been great when we were moving across several states and worried about the cats being in their small carriers while driving or in a motel room.

I bought this to take one of my cats to the vet for a reoccurring ear problem. When I took her in a regular carrier, she would scratch and bite the staff, just to get her out. She had to be sedated for her ear to be examined.

With this bag, she was amazingly calm, and the vet could examine her ear, with no problem. It was unbelievable. I might mention too, that she had to wait to be seen for a long time, and did great being held by me, while in the bag.

I did partially unzip the bag, to ensure she wasn’t getting too hot. The bag is thick, so I would suggest making sure your kitty remains cool, and keep a check on the neck closure, so it doesn’t get too tight or scrape their skin with the Velcro.

For us, it was a life saver.

I love the concept of this bag. Our problem is probably more related to user error. We were only able to use one of the cat-in-the-bags we ordered and it was with our easiest-going cat. One of the other two cats scratched up my step-father’s forearms with her back claws when he tried to put her in it.

We had to wash his arms, treat them with an antibacterial ointment, and bandage them so he wouldn’t bleed all over the place. I will say that his hands and arms were in the bag with the cat when she injured him.

I am sure she was scared. The youngest—and largest—cat got curious and walked right into an open plastic kennel. My mom came through the room right at that moment, so she quickly shut the kennel door and we were able to get him to the vet to get his rabies shot that way.

It would work better if we watched a video tutorial before using them with our cats.

My 22 pound Big Male Cat is impossible to get into a kennel. I was leery of this cloth carrier at first, but after my first use, I AM SOLD!!! He was so much calmer, relaxed, happily immobized, AND not doing the usual freak-out.

I unzipped it, laid it over his reclining body, slipping his head through the opening and tightening it (important) and then zipped it shut around his entire body. He LOVED having his head “out” and appeared to feel he was more in control, or maybe it was him still feeling some dignity.

I certainly felt far more confident. Only problem, during covid I could not go INTO Vets office with him, unfortunately the vets staff was clueless about how to put him back inside the sack to bring him out to my car.

So there IS that. But I am HUGE FAN of this carrier.

I used this carrier for my cat’s first flights. It was absolutely perfect for travel. Enough pockets to store the important things and a perfect size to fit under the seat in front of me. My cat was safe and comfy throughout all the travel since the inside is spacious and made of soft material.

Material is super sturdy for any scratchy pets. Straps were perfect for carrying it over my shoulder like a duffle and then easily using it as a backpack instead. There are plenty of panels for your pet to see you and get fresh air and zippered parts for easy access to your pet if need be.

So happy I purchased this! Product shipped so quickly – can’t believe how fast it arrived.

I purchased this because I wanted a backpack so I could be hands free and my pup would feel secure. I love that it has padding when it lays flat under the seat and on the bottom when it’s upright. It has fantastic ventilation and love the small pockets.

The bag is very comfortable to wear and lightweight. It fit with space to spare on my AirFrance flight (I know planes differ) my 6 pound yorkie had more than enough room! The only modification that would make it better (and this is me just being picky) it would be nice to have a large zippered pocket on the back for an iPad or folder for paperwork when traveling.

I love this backpack! The quality for the price is amazing! I like that this backpack isn’t too big, Freya is still a kitten and I think for a smaller size cat this pack would be prefect. The feel of the materials are nice and I love the soft liner in the backpack.

The pocket and bottle holder are nice features the have as well. I highly recommend Mr. Peanuts backpacks over some other well known cat backpacks, because the quality so much nicer!.

This is an amazingly high quality cat carrier that is also extremely functional. I love the versatility of the coverings to give my cats a view / privacy. The top is wonderful for getting them in and out easily as well as keeping them corralled at the vets.

The bed is extremely plush, my kitties use it as a den which I encourage so that they’re not scared when the carrier comes out and they need to go somewhere. It’s large enough I can transport my bonded pair at the same time quite comfortably.

I do warn that it is pretty large. Make sure you have a car seat space big enough to use the seat belt straps properly. Mines a tight fit and they have to go in my passenger seat they can’t go in the back.

It can also be kind of heavy so make sure you’re taking your own strength, arm length, and physical capabilities into account before ordering the large size.

This is one of the best things I’ve ever purchased for my two travel averse girl cats. It is worth every penny! They absolutely love this carrier!! We call it the Royal Carrier. 🙂 As soon as I presented it to them, they crawled inside and instantly started making muffins on the really soft plushy pillow.

We keep it out at all times and they sleep in it together throughout the day. We took our oldest to the vet last week and while she was still not super thrilled to travel, she was so much calmer because she was able to see really well through the large mesh sides and I could easily unzip a panel to pet her.

It is a large carrier, but it is really worth it because I often take both of my girls for their annual exams together and they can easily ride in it together with plenty of room. If we ever wanted to store it, it does fold up flat.

But I think there would be mutiny if we put it away! Definitely would recommend this carrier to anyone looking for an upgrade.

Bought this for my cat who isn’t a fan of confinement. The open sides allow her to look around more and feel the breeze (which she always loves sniffing). She would occasionally push against the door of the traditional plastic carrier, but hasn’t tried to push out of this one.

She’s 16 and we go to the vet more often now so it’s great to have a carrier she feels more comfortable in. It’s definitely sturdy, has clips to secure the zippers if you have a pet who tries to wiggle out, and accurate measurements (I got the smaller of the 2 options, but if you have a larger cat, get the bigger size!) Easy to wipe down the inside and wash the cushion, which is very soft.

My younger cat also napped in it the first day I put it out. If you have a cat who loves the outdoors but hates harnesses, and live in a place with nice scenery and lots of sidewalks, it would def be worth getting the stroller type wheels for this carrier too.

Cool way to safely experience the outdoors if you aren’t into the backpacks.

Nice little carrier that does the job!Very light weight & easy to use. (i would say its worth the price) Only downside is the weight of it. My cat loves to hangout in itbut when he gets playful, whichever direction he goes, so does the carrier! So I loop the handles over a hanger & it instantly turns into a suspended tent, hang it anywhere! Problem solved, he is safe & out of the way :)(Will post a pic of this shortly).

I purchased a carrier to take a feral cat that had adopted us to be spayed. I already had a collapsible canvas carrier but my house cat does not have claws so I was concerned that this cat with claws would tear through the fabric.

Plus my house cat the smarty she is knows how to unzip from the inside, so we have to used a paper clip clip to hold the zippers in place. I came across this one it’s a hard plastic, apparently better quality than the several I saw at the vets, those cats had chewed or clawed larger holes from the vents.

This one checked all the boxes. It was well thought out. It opens both from the top so that the vet was able to lay her gently in there, it also opens from the front. Which is plexi glass giving her a less claustrophobic feeling and me easy viewing.

A great easy open latch for me, but because of its placement in the solid part of plexiglass she can not get her paw out to open it. It has separate water and food bowls, which can be pulled out through a little fold down hatch, so you don’t have to open the cage to feed and water.

A bar between prevents the cat from getting out that way. Besides a handle it has an over the should strap which for someone who walks with a cane it a god send, there is enough length so I can put across my body.

It does break down into a lower footprint. The only thing that would make this complete is a drawstring bag to keep the 4 components together. Great carrier, great price. Worth it!.

I’ve had the Cabrio cat kennel for many years (10+) and it’s held up well. I was surprised to see so many negative reviews. It does take a little time to get it put together, but once all the pieces are in properly it is a solid good quality carrier.

If pieces are falling off it it may not have been put together correctly. Of course, the quality may have gone down since I originally purchased it. I like that it has a no skid bottom inside and lots of ventilation.

I put a puppy pad inside and cover that with a towel or blanket for my cat. It isn’t lightweight and might be a problem for some people carrying it. I’ve never had the front door pop off or any other issues with this carrier.

It is large and can be unwieldly to carry when a cat is inside it. I and my cats are happy with this sturdy long lasting carrier.

We were so excited to get this carrier! We had decided that we’d work on getting some new carriers to transport our cats to and from vet appointments. The cheap ones weren’t very sturdy and were falling apart so we opted to try one that was more expensive.

Unfortunately more expensive doesn’t mean better quality in this case. The assembly was simple, but the “cabrio” feature can hardly be used properly. The two sides will not join together without a log of struggle, and one of the kittens got her paw stuck in there while I was trying to get it closed for a trial run.

It took far too long to get it secured, and even then it didn’t feel sturdy. I’m afraid to use it to take any of our fosters anywhere. We typically LOVE Catit products. This one just didn’t work well at all.

Got this for a rescue cat who is at least 10 years old and only weighs a little over 3 lbs. She obviously belonged in a home at one time and is so affectionate. She loves to be held. But like most people I have lots to do around the house and can’t sit around holding her all the time.

Being she has lost so much muscle mass, she needs something that conforms to her without putting pressure on her body. This is the perfect carrier for her. It’s like a mobile hammock. She can still snuggle next to me as I work about the house.

Don’t let her weight deter you. This carrier is definitely suitable for larger cats and small dogs. She is in recovery from being on the streets for such a long time and this is a Godsend. Wish I had one when my other cat had a broken leg and jaw.

This would have been perfect. Mildred and I both recommend this.

I really like the construction of this sling. The only issue is that I am 54 and the sling is not adjustable so it lays around my hip I would really like it to be up over my waist so that I support her with my arms a bit but still have some support from the shoulder strap.

It would be better for me if it was adjustable.

Very well made dog carrier super comfy to wear doesn’t strain your back or neck wearing your little pup or cat on you. My doggie loves this and it also has a leash to connect to their collar for safety.

Definitely recommend it.

This dog sling was something I was initially on the fence about purchasing for my pup (he’d surely grow out of it immediately) but I am so glad I did. For those first weeks where it’s hard to leave them on their own for too long and they can’t be on the ground in public until fully vaccinated this sling made it possible for me to keep doing what I needed to hands free.

I am around horses often and move around a lot so being able to bring the pup along without having any worry about picking up illness or getting underfoot/underhoof was key. He did grow out of it pretty quickly but it got us to the point of him being fully vaccinated and able to hang on his own a bit better.

It was by far the most secure option in the small carrier product offering and I had so many people asking where I got it and taking pictures for reference that I ultimately gave it away to a pup-expecting friend when it was too tight a squeeze for us.

Highly recommend even if it’s not something you would be able to use for that long the cost isn’t so steep and the ease of use and peace of mind are huge.

My adult pup weighs slightly under 4-1/2 pounds. It worked great for him, but it’s hard to imagine an 8-pound dog being comfortable in the sling. I could be wrong. I did take some very firm cardboard cut to size, wrapped it in a towel, and inserted that in the bottom of the sling to give Taavi something firm underneath him.

The sling seems well-made, but the bottom doesn’t really offer firm footing. Taavi decided not to stick his head all the way out. just his nose! He really did enjoy the ride :-).

This is great for my new dachshund puppy who can’t go on walks until she’s had all her shots. I already have a dachshund mix and a chihuahua mix I have to walk so I can easily carry the puppy while I walk the other two.

The only thing I don’t like about this is there is a big gap between where the zipper ends and where the drawstring cinches. Its NOT like the pic where the end of the zipper meets the drawstring cinch, big old hole.

The puppy doesn’t seem to mind, as she usually just hangs one paw out this gap, but sometimes she squeezes her head through it, she was only 2lbs when we got her, she’s growing so she really wont be able to do that anymore.

There is tons of room for the puppy, she can poke her head out, or she can go back in and nap. There is plenty of room for her to grow with this. It works for us.

I think the all around service and the product was very good. My dog has hip issues and this is perfect. She loves it.

Bought this for my elderly chihuahua, who has arthritis and can’t always keep up with our younger dog on challenging walks. He took to it immediately and seems super comfortable in it. The design is simple and functional, and the sling is well made.

I really like the attached tether inside the pouch, I just attach it to my dog’s harness and feel confident he won’t jump or fall out. Size works fine for both me (shorter woman) and my husband (large man).

This is definitely for small dogs (or very chill cats), I think 15 lbs would be the outer limit.

My puppo is a little large for his breed. He’s a thick 13-lb Chihuahua, who needs to come with me everywhere for psychiatric PTSD support. I had been leaving him home for a while because it was difficult to travel anywhere with him, just keeping track of.

And since he is small, many people think it’s okay to come and touch. No! I found this in my local Petco and immediately tried him in it, we left the store with him on my hip, snuggly and content! 🙂 It’s warm, soft, and cozy and feels like it REALLY supports his body without having him sitting awkwardly.

He just rests his head and chills now while we are out and about, and since he is ON my body, people are less inclined to try to interact with him. Also, his warmth and feeling him physically beside me eases SO MUCH of what I struggle with daily out in public spaces.

The only thing I would love to see, is an adjustable strap maybe? But it’s SO SOFT that it doesn’t really matter (/.

My 7 lb dog fits great in this. We use it for shopping – he walks around the shopping center and goes in the sling when we enter stores. I’d say it’s almost perfect. Almost because it’s pretty heavy material for summer but ok if your in air conditioning.

Given that I haven’t been able to use this to its fullest yet because of quarantine, I think this is a great product. It’s lightweight, thoughtfully constructed, and feels durable for the price. My pup and I have been testing it out, and while getting her into it was an adventure in the beginning, now she patiently settles right down into it and we comfortably walk around together.

I love the simplicity of this bag and how comfortable it seems to be for both of us. I imagine it will be getting a lot of use this summer. One thing I would say though is that I wouldn’t recommend it for a dog larger than 11in.

My dog is 11in and I feel like a 12in dog would be uncomfortable. Since it’s listed for pets up to 12in I recognize this is a pretty small margin!.

This is the best carrier and I have tried a bunch. Even made one out of an old purse and it worked good but was hot. This one takes the prize though. And the fact it folds into that little bag is just another big plus.

This hand carrier is easy to travel with my miniature Yorkie. The wide shoulder straps helps with my pet’s weight while carrying him around. It’s comfortable, sheek and the color compliments my attire for the day.

I really like this pet carrier. I have a 6lb Scottie and it fits him perfectly. However I’m giving it 4 stars because it doesn’t have a comfortable lining. The adjustable strap is great! It makes him secure without making him rock back and forth too much.

The pockets in it are awesome as well! Very helpful for my wallet and my dogs treats etc.

We have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi- 14 weeks now- 8 pounds. he is kind of loose inside but is able to sleep doting my daughter’s walks. We purchased this model because it will be perfect when he reaches his adult size in a couple of month.

The shoulder handle is comfortable and the secure leach is a plus. We love it!!!.

I bought this for a cat originally but decided that my daughter needed it more for her little chihuahua. She and her husband absolutely love it. Their doggie fit inside beautifully with plenty of room.

He is a full grown chihuahua. The little cell phone/ change purse feature was an additional perk. It is located in a place that is convenient and does not rub against you while wearing. Just wish these came in more than 2 colors.

I bought this sling in hopes of taking my Maltese out to the park. He sometimes is so lazy that he prefers to be carried and not walk. He weighs nine pounds and I couldn’t get him to fit in it comfortably.

He seemed a bit too big for this sling. Although the quality looked very good. Keep in mind that if you consider buying this sling for your fur baby, it has a warm material on the inside of it. So probably not a good idea in the Summer time.

I contacted Chewy about returning this for a refund, to my surprise, they immediately refunded this purchase and asked me to give or donate this sling to a furry friend in need! Wow, If Chewy cares this much about our helpless fur babies, I will keep buying from Chewy!.

It fits perfectly around me and my chihuahua loves the snug fabric! Looks so adorable on! I can slide my phone in the sling. keys go on side. Perfect for the mama of a fur baby! Fits well for winter spring and fall! The fabric is warm & cool !! Adore.

My cat actually enjoys being in here. She loves the cute little window she gets to look out of. I use it when she’s in the car and she’s chill the whole time. Doesn’t feel great wearing it as a backpack but I was never into backpacks.

Seems like great quality. I’ve had mine for months and it’s doing well so far. It feels sturdy. I don’t predict it falling apart like the traditional cat carriers.

This backpack cat carrier is super cute. It is on the smaller side so not for big cats. My kitten loves it though. I got her used to it by putting treats inside and leaving the little door on the side open.

She likes to play in it even if we aren’t using it. There is plenty of air flow for her.

This backpack overall is nice. While it ended up being a little smaller than I thought I could use, it still served the purpose. My only complaint is the window on the front is basically impossible for me to turn.

I had the hardest time fixing it. Other than that it was great.
