20 Best Cats For Indoors (2022 Updated)

Both my vet and breeder recommended RC Bengal. Cats were on that for years and all was awesome. Pandemic strikes, no more RC Bengal to be found. This is a good replacement, though possibly less palatable? My slightly overweight bengal slimmed down – which was probably a good thing anyways.

I thought I might save a few schillings and tried another good brand, my older kitty got some dandruff and her coat looked really poor, so it’s back to RC. I feel like the price increases are pushing it.

My cats just love this food. It is hands down their favorite! They see the bag and know their favorite food has arrived! They have eaten Royal Canin their entire lives. Well, their lives with me. They were both around 6 months old when I adopted them.

My female found me. She just showed up on my back porch after a snowstorm, and it was love at first sight. My male was adopted on National Cat Adoption Day. That was fate! Also love at first sight, though.

They are 7 and 1/2 and 8 this month now, and anytime people see them, they are astonished by how beautiful they are. I spoil them, but I like to think the food helps :).

I discover Royal Canin a few years ago when I had a yellow lab with skin issues. I saw an online review that stated RC’s Lab-specific dog food formula had helped their dog with a similar issue. I gave RC Labrador formula dog food a try and it actually made a big difference and eased my dog’s skin issues.

I was then hooked on RC products! A few years later when I adopted a Maine Coon, I fed her RC from day one. She is a longhaired cat and can struggle with hairballs. I mix Royal Canin Indoor Long Hair Dry Cat Food and Royal Canin Indoor Adult Dry Cat Food and it seems to keep the frequency of her hairballs at bay.

She still coughs them up but less often and they seem to be smaller. I assume she’s passing some of the hair via her poop, thanks to the food. I am very happy with this product and would highly recommend Royal Canin pet food for both cats and dogs.

This cat was the one thing my almost 6 year old daughter has been asking for for her birthday. I got it and opened to make sure it worked and had a battery so when she opened it it would work. I was happy to see it came with its own battery.

It also had a little bed and brush she will enjoy. The part I think is a design flaw is that it does not have an on off button or switch. It says it’s designed this way to make it more realistic, but I think they could have easily added one on the bottom and it would not have affected the “realness.

” The problem with not having an on off switch is that it just stays on, breathing, until the battery dies. The life of that I don’t know yet since we just got it. It also doesn’t sound very much like a purr, more like a soft motor sound pulling in and out the air that fills the belly.

All in all it’s cute and it’s what she asked for but I think it should have the on off switch and it’s a bit overpriced for what it is.

I purchased this for my elderly mother who lives alone. She has always had animals but could not look after one now. I looked at various animals and made the sad decision that any animal would be too much for her.

As she is displaying early dementia I decided to look for products that could help her to relax. This dog has had an impact, she strokes it and says it is a comfort. The “heartbeat” is very realistic and fooled my sister when she visited her.

All in all a very good product, it’s a bit weighty at the bottom which does detract from the overall feel. It will never replace a real pet but it did have a positive effect on my mum.

I purchased the beagle for my mother in law who has very late stage Alzheimer’s. My children (4 and 6) initially looked after the puppy before handing him over to their Grandma. They absolutely loved him and even though they knew he wasn’t real they still treated him as a real puppy.

The snoring sounds are adorable and the visible way in which the puppy’s back moves as it takes a breath is very realistic. It also looks like a true representation of a beagle. I was expecting it to be a bit more floppy but it is rigid in its sleeping position.

My mother in law enjoyed having him on my lap and I hope she will get some enjoyment from him. A lovely gift.

A great way of occupying and giving a focus to an elderly lady with dementia. She appears to enjoy engaging with the cat, grooming her daily, petting and talking to her and accepting that the cat needs to go outside or have its own space sometimes (valuable when attachment issues lead to aggressive behaviour).

The cat itself has fooled a couple of carers initially thinking it was real. Fur is soft and handles being groomed. Sounds are good quality.

As part of a balanced diet for my two senior cats (14 yo) I choose Blue Buffalo as my anchor food. I use both the salmon and the chicken pelletized dry feed stocks (feed separately salmon during the day and chicken for evening feeding, portion controlled).

The reason I use them Is their high protein content. I combine them with other high quality dry foods that have other characteristics for oral /dental health and indoor cat health. I switched to Blue buffalo four years ago based on a recommendation from my veterinarian who is a major in the army in charge of the health of military dogs.

She told me I should be using a higher protein food. She didn’t tell me what brand to use however based on my research I could see Blue Buffalo was high protein so I tried it. My cats were becoming overweight and the doctor was concerned about their long term health outlook.

Results of the diet change is their weight is at a much heathier level. An additional bonus is their coats are softer and they seem to be shedding less ( I groom them by brushing and flea comb 2 to 3 times a week so I was able to see the difference in hair loss reduction.

Overall I’m very happy with results I have achieved using Blue Buffalo dry cat food and my kitties are definitely healthier as a result of the change. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is I’m not a cat and I don’t really know what they feel about any of the foods I give them.

So I have to hold out at least a little bit. I believe Blue buffalo is a good choice for cats. I would not feed exclusively I believe kitties need variety in their diet. They also share a 3 oz can of high quality wet food in the morning to round out their dietary requirements and to give them something to look forward to.

In closing I love my two kitties and I try to do the best I can for them and I feel Blue Buffalo is part of that goal.

Our two cats love this and have now eaten mostly this for 2+ years. One cat still enjoys a small daily side bowl of canned food, but the other cat pretty much prefers his Blue Buffalo crunchy food. We tried other flavors — including the more exotic duck and some other flavor — but they like chicken best.

Yet, they won’t touch cooked chicken from a human meal. Hmm, go figure. We like the ingredients and what’s NOT in the food. Grain free! No animal “byproducts. ” We use the “indoor” version, because our cats are indoor critters.

However, they similarly enjoyed the non-indoor version when that’s all we could find in a store. They have no apparent digestion problems with Blue Buffalo, in contrast to other (grain containing) dry foods we’ve tried.

We recently switched to Petco online, from another unnamed online vendor. The prices for dry cat food (eg, this Blue Buffalo product) are comparable or better, and the minimum purchase amount for free shipping is much more favorable.

And in contrast to our former online vendor, Petco is a more full-service provider, with local stores.

I am always searching for new foods to tempt my scrawny senior kitty to eat more. After perusing many blogs and reviews, I selected and purchased small bags of 4 different brands/varieties recommended for picky eaters.

I placed four small piles of food (one pile of each type) on a mat and presented them to my fussy kitty. She sniffed and sampled 3 of the foods. She sniffed this food – Blue Buffalo Wilderness Chicken Recipe Grain-Free Dry Cat Food – and moved on.

I rotated the mat so the foods were in a different order. Same thing. I repeated this taste test experiment with the other cat, who seems to eat everything and definitely has no problems keeping weight on.

He sniffed and sampled the other 3, and completely rejected the Blue Buffalo. Lilly and TG give this food two paws down – I donated the rest of the bag.

I bought this for my mother who is near blind and has dementia. She loves it and I love that she has a companion when I can’t be there. It’s good that it has a mute button which stops the cat from “Meow-ing” if she knocks it in her sleep and it doesn’t annoy her neighbours.

The purring still works while on mute. The only problem I have with it is that the robotics are a bit loud but that doesn’t seem to bother mum – which is the main thing.

Today my Sass had a first offering of Hills 11+ Indoor Dry kibble. I will update this review after she’s been through a 3. 5 bag. The kibble is a 3-corner star shape and is close to the same size as Adult Indoor 7+.

Sassy is a 10 + year old Bengal cat. She’s had consistent Hills nutrition and healthcare. Sassy has never required a teeth cleaning, though we are going in December to have a little tarter buildup. A testimate to Hills! She will not touch anything by Her Hills kibble, so she stays nimble and active.

She is alert, she plays hide n seek, explores on a leash a few minutes a day. I plan on getting her some outdoor play equipment.

So, I have a 10-year-old cat that has been on Science Diet since she was a kitten and by keeping her on the same dry food all her life she has not had any digestive issues, so far. I had her on Adult indoor 1-6 up until about 6 months ago because it was recommended to me that if she is doing well that she could stick with it.

However, I decided to buy the adult 7+ and she did okay with it at first, but then stopped eating it so I put her back on the other adult or one of them (there are a couple) and she started to eat again but soon after I noticed she was not chewing the kibble.

Now, I must clarify that she is a small cat with a tiny mouth (she was the runt of her litter) so the smaller kibble was apparently easier for her to swallow/chew. I was concerned that her teeth were not getting clean with the smaller kibble, so regretfully, I re-ordered a 7-pound bag of this kind of SD again.

Now I am stuck with it and she will not eat it and begs all day long for wet food and treats anything but this food. She will attempt a bite or two, but it falls out of her mouth or she drops it and gives up.

My mom pointed out that it might be too hard for her to chew or even hurt her teeth. I was upset with myself for not picking up on this, so i read all the lower-rated reviews on here and I realized it was an issue for other cats too.

I really don’t understand why this cat food is so hard, even i had trouble to break up a piece with a sharp knife. Maybe it’s a bad batch or it’s meant to be this way, but i will not be buying this again.

Back to the original until i can find one that is good for her age. Hope i helped someone.

The Perfect Weight Kibble size has been inconsistent this last year. My cat preferred the large flat disc size kibble that was always consistent; the reason I bought Perfect Weight. Now the last several bags changed to “Thick” kibble of multiple sizes the cat could hardly bite.

Perfect Weight used to have a consistent larger disk-like kibble that was more flat and could be crunched. Now, each bag purchased contains multiple thicknesses, sizes. Perfect Weight is a great recipe.

but kibble inconsistency is a problem for long time customers of your product. Newer customers do not see a difference, “yet. “. until additional bags of the same variety are purchased again and opened to find kibble sizes different from the previous bag.

Quality products should remain consistent. Kibble consistency is important to a cat. Too much competitive marketing changing cat and dog food formula varieties too often. sounds great, not for cats who need basic diets.

Frustrating to see this ongoing irregularity as my cat no longer enjoys eating this product. This was a good product. will try another bag when I see the manufacturing dates change. hopefully, the original kibble size of over a year ago will return to Perfect Weight.

Perfect Weight Manufacturing runs need better Quality Control. Too much variation this last year in Perfect Weight Kibble size and density.

My Sunshine boy was a vet bill on all four. Scabs and sores and expensive treatment. After paying the vet I put him on this brand, poultry only no red meat. We decided that he was allergic to something in the environment, not fleas, ‘maybe use benadryl.

‘ Every morning he gets 5mgZyrtec (1/2 pill) dissolved in water with 1/2 can food, topped with 1/2 tsp sunflower oil. The remainder of the can, plain for dinner. Born in 2008 and he was never this beautiful and healthy.

This food and the knowledge that only zyrtec works for skin allergies and he is healthy, the little bit of bland oil has cured the dry tail base dandruff. Old cat, happy cat, less shedding,.

I wouldn’t consider my cat to be very picky – if she doesn’t like a specific food she won’t touch it for a few hours but later she’ll come to terms with it and eat it. She gets excited about dinner time, no matter what food she gets.

This has been the only food that she likes enough to eat all in one sitting though! I’ve tried other brands that come in bigger cans but still, I serve the same portions for her, and most of the time she’d leave a few traces of food that would be all dried up in the morning, but with this food, she licks the plate CLEAN and eats it all in one sitting, instead of in little spurs throughout the night (which is better for me! Because I can clean the plate as soon as she’s done.

) She likes almost every wet food flavor and brand I’ve given her but this is BY FAR her favorite! We’ve tried all the flavors for this one but the Wild Caught Salmon is the one she likes the most :).

My little girl hasn’t been very picky with me but she knows when it’s time for her wet food. Yes, I feed my cat 3 times a day. I give her 1/4 cup dry food, then wet food for lunch and then another 1/4 cup.

She gets the tiny cans of the wet food and she likes every flavor but I think her favorite is the turkey. I recommend just buying at least 2 of each flavor you can find, then change flavors every day.

She absolutely loves it cause I’m sure it’s not boring with the same flavors all the time. Would be “Kindfull” of you to make bulk options including variety packs and such.

This is not just a Cuddly Toy this is the right size, feels, looks and behaves like a normal cat. I am a disabled pensioner living on my own I lost my cat last year. I went to a short period of loss.

I started to feel depressed. I did miss her but was not fit enough to get another cat. I did not need one of them cuddly toys. I was looking around online and found this cast it seemed just what I needed.

And it has become a great companion and comfort for me. I would recommend this cat for anyone.

I bought this for my Mum who always had cats. It has been very soothing for her and she is enjoying the interaction. It is quite lifelike and the movements are typical for cats. The purring and meowing are also quite natural sounding (if you are used to an animated cat).

I appreciate why it cannot be washable but this would make it perfect.

we recently picked this up in desperation resulting in a shortage of kitten kaboodle indoor. it turned out to be a very happy accident for us and our large turkish van. shes getting to be 9 now and has gotten a bit more picky about the size of her cat food, as well as the shape of the bites.

after our disaster with whiskas meaty selections Chicken Turkey making our poor cat gain weight in record time, we had to switch foods immediately and since had been feeding her kitten kaboodle with no issues.

one thing about my cat that ive realized for a while now, anything chicken flavored she adores and so i picked up this bag. i had thought that the indoor formula of kaboodle i was getting was fairly small, certainly small enough that she wouldnt have any issues eating.

until she just didnt seem to really run for the bowl anymore. she was eating, but i could tell she wasnt happy with her food like in the past, and had this blah attitude anytime i filled her bowl. “thanks mom, ill eat, but im not excited about it.

im very happy that shes finally comfortable with a cat food, they are a small flat disk shapes, about the size of a small pea but bc they are uniform and circular, and not complicated and painful odd jacks shapes!(whoever came up with that is just rude at this point), she doesnt have any issues eating her food! this is our new staple and i plan on buying the bigger bag.

I am so happy to have found Meow Mix at Sam’s. Right now Meow Mix is my cat’s favorite food excluding treats! She won’t eat any other brand. She had a favorite before I introduced Meow Mix to her diet and now that’s all she would eat.

I recently saw it sold at Sam’s Club and was happy that it carries a competitive price. I am, however, a bit confused in that Sam’s has a slightly different formulation even though it says “Original Choice” and that there is a lot (and I mean a lot) more crumbs in the bag than the bags I bought at other grocery stores.

My cat loves the whole pieces but won’t eat the crumbs. I would have to wash off the leftover crumbs every time I scoop in another batch of Meow Mix in her bowl. Does Sam’s Meow Mix consist of the leftovers or is inferior, therefore the competitive pricing? Another of my concern is that Meow Mix pieces are quite small and to make bigger pieces for grown cats may be easier and better to serve.

My mom is 91 and has always had a pet in her life. She is unable to properly care for a real animal and this is the next best thing. She loves it. It interacts with her and comforts her. My dog is completely freaked out by it because it will meow as she walks by.

We all get a good laugh at that. I highly recommend this for an elderly person who is missing a beloved pet.

I got this cat for my cat obsessed 5 year old daughter. It’s perfect. It’s very life like, moreso than any other “toy” cats she’s gotten. It’s also easy to change to silent and off. We are very happy with this cat.

I will say, I wouldn’t buy it for a child under 5.

Shipping was poor. Told it would arrive on one date and found it on door step several days before that date. It had sat on door step for two days before it was discovered. Discovered on Saturday and I get an email the following Monday telling me the package was delivered on the previous Thursday morning.

My plan is giving him a half cup dry food 127. 50 kcal and canned food two of 1oz , 92 kcal, fancy feast or 1 can ,92 kcal, perfect weight of 5. 1 oz , 10 pieces dental treats,20 kcal Total would be 240 kcal or 270 kcal , I think previously I fed him 300 to 330 kcal Do you think is it ideal? I guess I have to confirm with vet about daily calories plan because I don’t want to under feed him or over feed to ruin his weight loss plan.

Zoomer Kitty recently arrived at my home free of charge in exchange for my review through the current BzzAgent campaign. I was excited to participate as my 6 year old daughter loves her other toy animals.

This one was no different. Straight out of the box she wanted to play with Zoomer and introduce her to the robot puppy she got last year. Too bad this was a no-go. We quickly found out that the toy was not charged and required charging through the included usb connector.

When Zoomer Kitty’s eyes changed from red to green we knew she was ready to play. (I appreciate this feature as my daughter can easily tell when Zoomer is ready for play. ) As soon as the toy came to life my daughter was in love, as was my 2 year old son who instantly tried to saddle the poor kitty.

Zoomer’s little legs do not support a rider, however. To its advantage though, this little trooper has held up to the abuse of an active toddler thus far. Zoomer has multiple play modes (follow, pounce, cuddle, etc.

) that are activated by performing different actions. A rapid wave of the hand in front of Zoomer and she will follow you or the included ball-on-a-string toy. In the absence of my children, my testing proved that Zoomer followed along nicely down the hall as long as I stayed within sight (around 8″).

Pressing the button on her back will trigger a stunt such as singing a song or barking like a dog. Lay her over and she’ll fall asleep. Zoomer is also a very affectionate kitty. After petting between the ears for a while, I even got Zoomer to speak those three little words, “Meow meow meow.

” Which, I assume, translates to “I love you. ” There are a few caveats to take note of though. Number 1 for me is typically price. This toy comes with a price tag that would immediately turn me off.

At $90+ this would not be a typical splurge item but more of a planned birthday or Christmas item if my child showed a major interest in it. Seems $40-$60 would be a more suitable range. And while very playful, its important to note that she does tire quickly after about a 30 minutes of constant play.

This means that she spends quite a bit of time tied to the wall outlet staring with those big red eyes. Regardless, Zoomer kitty is a fun interactive toy that became a big topic of 1st grade show & tell!.

I was lucky enough to receive this for free for being a BzzAgent for review purposes. As soon as my daughters (ages almost 3 and 8) saw Zoomer Kitty, they were super excited and camped out waiting for her to charge.

I was able to plug her into my laptop with the provided cord. We read the simple instruction booklet to learn her abilities and were ready to play! We had a lot of trouble because all she wanted to do was go backwards and we could not get her to follow our hand or her toy at all.

We were able to get her into Pounce Mode which was fun and even got her to say “I Love You” after lots of petting and purring! My 3 year old loved Zoomer Kitty’s tricks, especially when she would break into funky dance music! We even got her to bark a few times! lol We were finally able to get her to follow us with our hands after 10 minutes of practicing, but could still never get the hang of the toy (I did not receive the star wand pictured).

We were able to play for the full 30 minutes the instructions indicated the battery would hold. Everyday since I received Zoomer Kitty, my girls beg to play with her. They rarely show interest in toys after a few days, but their excitement about her is still fresh! I think the high cost is worth it when you weigh the fact that you are getting an interactive, robotic toy.

This is definitely unlike anything I had when I was a kid, so I think it is pretty neat to have this kind of a technology option for toys. Even with the small window of play time, it only takes 1 hour to charge Zoomer Kitty back up, so you can be back to playing in no time! We bought my now 8 year old daughter the Zoomer Puppy 2 years ago and overall were a little disappointed with that purchase. She had a hard time getting Zoomer to understand what she was saying and the battery life was not great.

Still, when she saw the Zoomer Kitty in store a few weeks ago it instantly catapulted to the top of her Christmas list. Lucky for her, we received a new Zoomer Kitty, through a BzzAgent promotion, much sooner than Xmas.

She had a great, instant reaction to the cat. In general she prefers cats to dogs so this may have colored her response. She was quite happy that she didn’t have to talk to her new Zoomer as that had caused frequent frustration with the puppy.

She loved cuddle mode right away and was quite happy to sit and talk to kitty while the cat purred, meowed and slept in her lap. The various tricks the cat can perform are quite entertaining and there’s enough of them that they don’t become repetitive too quickly.

The included toy helps focus the kitty’s attention making the following modes work a little better than they did with the puppy. The main downside is the battery life. Approximately 30 minutes of fun per 30 minute charge seems a little light but it does ration how much time my daughter gets to play with the toy, which should help prevent her getting bored with the toy.

Overall, the is a little more refined than the puppy and the removal of the voice functions improved the play experience for my daughter.

After a costly & frightening incident – the vet told me that my cat had pancreatitis. After researching I found that the main cause of this and all other pet diseases is the terrible food most eat. I have a low income so I was trying to find affordable brands & flavors that she would like that contained meat with no by products – grains or any other harmful ingredients that are easy to digest.

I bought many single cans locally and went over the ingredients – researched them and then tested them to see what she liked before ordering cases. I did find several so she would have a variety and one of her favorites was Natural Balance – chicken & liver.

She is very happy with her new foods, eats well and has had no tummy issues. She is also getting a digestive enzyme with probiotic powder – Naturvet. Since we started her new foods she has completely forgotten about the dry food she would beg for which makes me happy since it is harder to digest – especially for a senior cat who has no teeth.

This was my first order from PetFlow and customer service was very helpful and patient. My order came very fast as well.

I have a cat who is extremely fussy about wet food, and has rejected more than half the brands/flavors I tried with him. And that was just with regular cat food – when our vet said he needed to go on a special food I was dreading trying to get him to eat it.

I got a few cans of this to try from a nearby store, and to my surprise he showed enthusiasm, ate more than two thirds of his dinner (which was half a 5. 5 oz can), and went back twice more this evening to keep working on his leftovers and eventually to ask for more! This is a very smooth, wet, loose pate.

It needs to be scooped out of the can, it does not come out of the can in one big hockey puck like some brands. But when you scoop out pieces they do hold their shape, they are not runny like apple sauce or something.

I think the texture of the pate might be what made it so appealing to him. I have now ordered a 24-pack from Chewy – this stuff is awesome!! (And my human nose finds the smell a bit tempting too – I can see why he likes it!).

My cat usually eats Royal Canin’s duck or rabbit formula vet diet b/c it is a single protein, limited ingredient formula and she has some food/environmental allergies/sensitivities. RC has been out of stock, of both of those, for a long while now, so I had to search for something similar as replacement.

This has a similar (limited) ingredient list as RC’s duck and green pea formula, with no additional chicken or fish or corn or anything added. It was tricky to find something comparable and okay for my cat, so I’m really glad I found this.

She loves it. The only thing is I think it might have more salt than RC’s, but if you are searching for something in a pinch that doesn’t need a vet Rx, but is comparable to the limited-ingredient vet Rx diets, try this.

I bought this hairball formula in hopes of slowing down the rate of hairballs our cat would have and it led to a whole ‘nother array of problems. I had been feeding our cat the original Purina Chicken/Rice combo and she took it fine and we had no problems.

The moment we switched over to this formula, our cat started having random sneeze attacks and many instances of gagging. While we thought “I guess it’s doing the trick, gagging but no hairball” it was definitely not worth the discomfort it brought onto our cat.

She also started having incontrollable poops. She’s very good about using her litter box but on this food she would just have to instantly squat all over the house. A lot of the times it was pretty liquidy too.

Last but not least, there was also some vomiting. So while we didn’t see as many hairballs, the vomiting made up for that (chunks of dry food). We bought a new brand and she has been back to normal since.

In case this hasn’t convinced you: we also went away for a weekend with a cat-sitter on duty but didn’t clarify which bag to feed from. She ended up feeding her this hairball formula one more time and immediately saw the same results.

(Quickly corrected when she messaged us and is back on her good food). I would NOT recommend this product to cat owners. I still had the majority of the bag and it’s now straight to the trash because I don’t want anyone else’s cat to have the same reaction.

Please beware.

When I adopted a 14-month-old female cat in August 2021, I wasn’t told she was pregnant (and maybe the owner didn’t know). I hadn’t yet taken her to my veterinarian, but was thinking of getting that done soon, especially because she was starting to look “chubby.

” In October, she gave birth in my closet to one kitten. I knew I needed to get them checked, and it being a Saturday, I had to take them to an “emergency” vet clinic. After a couple of hours waiting in the lobby of the “first come/first served” clinic, we were seen and the veterinarian discovered there were still two kittens in the womb, the much larger one blocking exit of the other.

A C-section was performed. Both kittens were not breathing and CPR was performed, but only the smaller kitten survived. So 2 kittens, and in 30+ years of having cats, I had never before had a kitten.

Within 2 days, my regular veterinarian saw all 3, and recommended I get dry kitten food for the mama cat and, soon enough, the kittens. I reviewed several online lists of the “10 best dry kitten foods,” All contained Purina One +Plus Healthy Kitten Formula.

I started out getting the 3. 5 lb. bags, but soon had to purchase them SO often. Purina offered me a $5 coupon on 6 lb. or greater bag, so I found 16 lb. bags at PetSmart and used it there. The mama cat and 2 kittens all LOVE the Purina dry kitten food, nearly to the exclusion of proffered wet kitten foods.

All are doing well and the kittens, especially, are so full of life and rambunctious !.

Years ago I had a male cat that would get urinary tract infections (fixed male cats are the most likely to get one) and I learned about watching the ash content within my cats’ food. The 3 cats I had at the time were all long haired (different breeds) and so hair balls were common.

So, I was looking for a cat food with low ash content that would help prevent urinary tract infections while also breaking down hair balls so my cats could get rid of excess hair in their digestive systems and, oh yes, has meat as the first ingredient.

For a while I was mixing Purina One Hairball Formula and Purina one Urinary Tract Health formula and a little later I added the Senior Cat formula. It was a hassle. Plus I wasn’t sure if I should make the mixture equal parts between the formulas or should there be more of one and less of the others? Then Purina One came out with it’s indoor formula and it pretty much did it all! It was for all life stages, it had low ash and had the ingredients that promoted urinary tract health (yes, I’m a label reader and proud of it too), plus the ingredients to break down hairballs, and it has Turkey as the first ingredient.

It had everything! I changed over and my cats down through the years have loved it. I also feed it to the feral/ wild cats in the neighborhood. It helps to keep their waste from being so rank.

My cat appears to have a sensitivity to chicken and turkey, which makes shopping for cat food quite difficult. Usually if a food has a fish “flavor” it will still have chicken meal in it. There are very few food options that don’t have chicken or turkey in them, and this is one of them! (It does have poultry fat, but because fat isn’t protein, I don’t think it registers as an allergen in her system.

Either that or it’s low enough quantity for it not to affect her much. ) As for the limited non-poultry options, this is on the more affordable side- and the ingredients still look pretty good to me! And of course the most important part- she will eat it, lol.

The only issue i’ve run into with this food is that my vet has told me that my cat needs to be eating something less calorie-rich. (But, she’s also lost weight since i’ve adopted her so i don’t know if it’s this food that is the problem.

She was just a chunky girl when I adopted her lol. Either way, vet wants her on a more diet-y food. ) I’ve looked at the calorie content though, and it seems on the lower side for a lot of the foods on the market that aren’t specifically a “weight control” formula!.

All six of my cats love Rachael Ray and they have had the indoor, the longevity, and now this one the inner health. Three of my six cats have special needs. One is a Maine coon and she is 19. 6 pounds of pure fluff and because of that she has trouble grooming her back end and she gets rather smelly and the live probiotics have cut the smell way down so I guess it is getting rid of the fungus or yeast that causes her to have the weird fishy funky smell.

My other special-needs cat is a Manx cat with Manx syndrome which means because she has no tail she does not feel her back and very well so she drips urine and drops poop in various places and since Manx cat never fully empty their bladder, the urine smells very strong and since they have started eating this food she does not drop poop and her urine is a lot less rancid.

As a matter of fact, I fostered three Manx cats for a friend of mine from church that was in intensive care with COVID-19 and she has now switched her cats to this food as all three of her Manx cats have stopped dropping poop and have less rancid smelling urine.

My other cat was special-needs when I adopted him he had bladder crystals and rather than use expensive prescription food I just put him on this along with everybody else and he has had no crystals or any issues with urinating outside of the litter box so I guess the cranberry in this formula must be helping with that.

The other three cats even though they don’t have special needs just like the flavor and in fact my cat used to love to eat canned food a lot and now they really don’t eat that much canned food. They prefer this and their water fountains.

Maybe it was coming off a food they weren’t fans of (the store out of my normal brand, flavor the when I ordered food the time before I bought this). But my boys loved this food! No longer acting like they were starving, with food on their plates.

They would lick their plates clean. (I measure out their food a couple time throughout the day. So they don’t get it all at once, or have too much sitting out to over-eat on. So I can tell how much they like the food by how empty the plates are when they tell me they are hungry.

) When I went to re-order this (I ordered from a different store), I thought I was getting the same flavor. But I don’t like the smell of the other flavor. And the boys don’t seem to like it as well either.

But this flavor was a hit. Looks like we found their new favorite kibble.

Like most cats, mine are picky eaters. Historically, they have only eaten Dr. Elsey‘s cat food, and they won’t eat ANYTHING chicken flavored. Unfortunately, apparently a lot of cat owners experience this because Dr.

Elsey‘s rabbit and duck flavors are frequently sold out. (Perhaps because everyone does the same thing as I do, which is buy several bags whenever it comes back in stock. ) I finally grew tired of this game and wanted a cat food that I can buy consistently whenever I need it.

I had just bought this brand and similar flavor for my dog to try, and he loved it so much I thought I would try it for the cats to see how they reacted. I put Dr. Elsey‘s in one bowl and right beside it I put this food in another bowl.

They did not even touch the Dr. Elsey’s and annihilated all of this food in the second bowl. Now the only problem is, I bought a small bag and I need them to finish off the food they have left in their container before I switch them over to this full-time! Good ingredients, good quality, cats loved it.

Will be buying again, and feel lucky that I stumbled upon this food as a result of trying their dog food.

I noticed my cats seemed bored with their food so i gave acana a try. It was more expensive but good quality. My fat cat lost weight from barely eating (thought it was too stinky) and my skinny cat that has never weighed more than 6 lbs finally put on some weight.

But because the food was stinky they wanted fresh food every day (even the cat who loved it) and their bowl washed a lot. So i ended up wasting a lot of this expensive food because they refused to eat food more than a day old.

It’s not for us, especially not at this price. I tried bountiful catch and this one with freeze dried liver and it was the same for both. Considered trying other acana flavors since the quality is so good but it’s expensive and it seems like chicken flavored cat food is basically the same.

Gonna stick with Rachel Ray and/or try Blue buffalo that are more reasonable in price.

I wanted to try a high calorie food for my multiple picky cats. My cats are not kittens but some of them have digestive issues that make it difficult for them to keep weight on, so I need to pick a nutrient dense food.

Therefore I often feed kitten food. I tried this food because it is one of the few premium foods still available that contains grain. All this hype about grain being bad for cats – where did this come from? Cats are not humans.

Cats need grain. In the wild they eat mice and other rodents. What do the mice and rodents eat? Grain! Cats who do not get enough grain in their diets can develop serious heart issues. So I tried this food.

It smells good and fresh and most of my cats like it (I have a few who are strictly Purina Pro Plan guys and gals). The kibbles are small which is nice. The price is high but quality cat food is not cheap and to me it is worth if if the cats will eat it.

Bottom line, thumbs up for Acana from this experienced multi cat parent.

I certainly learned my lesson – don’t buy a 10kg bulk pack when switching over food! I spent about three weeks weaning my cat off his kitten food (Hill’s) onto this Royal Canin – which he absolutely loved when I introduced it.

It was like I was offering him sugar treats mixed in with his old food. His stool texture changed to be softer as I was transitioning (and I should’ve taken that as a warning). When he’d eventually transitioned to just Royal Canin – the first few days he was eating normally but would be walking around meowing sorrowfully just after eating and I even found him yowling in his litter box a few times (and leaving behind very soft / messy stools).

He eventually stopped wanting to eat the food – clearly, like the regret you have after eating a bucket of KFC, he realised that the after-poo wasn’t worth it – so I’m now stuck with a massive bag of food and am back to the drawing board (hoping that going back to Hill’s will help!) In summary – let this be a warning to others – don’t assume that because you’re buying a super premium brand that it’s going to work well for your cat.

And don’t make the rookie error I made in buying the biggest bag you can store!.

After reading about how to care for our two furry children better, we thought we would try Royal Canin since it was on special. Well the two of them, including the fussy eater, absolutely LOVED Royal Canin dry food for indoor cats.

It’s meant to be great for their poops and diet generally considering that they’re less active as indoor cats. Unfortunately we had just stocked up on their previous favourite so running the stocks down before transitioning over in full.

We have 6 cats and we used to have a very complicated system of this cat will eat that, that cat prefers something else, this one won’t touch that flavour etc. It was exhausting and expensive trying to cater to everyone’s tastes.

On top of that, a couple of them would only eat one of the low quality supermarket brands and I was concerned about the long term effects on their health. I read a review (possibly on this site, I don’t recall) from another lady who had 5 or 6 cats and she said they ALL liked the Royal Canin Indoor formula.

My cats are allowed out during the day and have access to a specially built enclosed outdoor run at night so they are not strictly indoor cats and we don’t need to worry about smelly litter boxes. But I read the description of the formula and it sounded healthy and would help to control hairballs.

I decided to take a leap of faith and bought the 10kg bag. I figured even if only half of them liked it, it was still more economical to buy in bulk. Lo and behold, they all loved it!! I have to admit I was stunned.

Life is much simpler and I know they are all eating healthily now. And being able to buy in bulk works out much cheaper. If you aren’t sure, just buy a small bag and give it a try. Odds on your cat will like it too.

The competing brand (begins with P) extra large size that I have been buying for the last two years is no longer available. They are extra thick and have a longer cuff, both features as advertised. I expect the extra thickness may reduce the quantity of gloves ruined when using stainless steel wool to clean skillets.

I also found the extra thickness both useful and comforting when doing cleanup in a mouse infested garage and outbuilding. The big issue I have with them is that when they are wet (washing dishes) the rubber surface of the gloves is very slick, even on the raised areas that are supposed to improve gripping.

When both hands are gloved and I take hold of one hand with the other, to remove the glove, the gloved fingers of the pulling hand just slide off the glove I am trying to take off. They are thicker with longer cuffs.

Their ability to grip wet dishes and silverware in the sink could be improved significantly.

Street cats liked it and ate it all. I don’t know about house cats. All cats food in general is an individual matter. You need to try it, never know what your cat would like/dislike.

My cat is 16 years old and has weak kidneys due to too much rich food so was put on a renal diet plan. I researched online to find the most suitable for his requirements and is doing very well. Would recommend this dried food as part of your cat(s) diet.

I bought these cat biscuits as they were on offer for £3. 50 on 2nd November 2020 in Asda. My Tiberius is a VERY fussy eater well he is a pedigree Bengal Tiger cat. He’s now 14 months old and we usually have whiskers biscuits when they are on offer at £4 as he LOVES the crunchy pockets in them too.

He has them with his Gourmet pate (only bought when on offer at £3 at Asda) for his breakfast EVERY morning. I thought I’d try these to see how he was with them as they were cheaper and have better ingredients too.

He’s just had some for the first time and LOVES them and he was looking for more. I’ll see how he gets on at the other end as he can have a poorly tummy if I change his food. I’ll mix these up with the whiskers for now as I have loads in.

I ONLY buy my cat biscuits when they are on offer as I’m not working and any saving is great. But I do like to feed my wee monster the best I can afford. If you and other makes can sell these at this lower price then they should ALWAYS be this price!? Please My Tiberius LOVES the wee crunchy pockets in the Whiskers bag so I’ll have to keep buying them too for these.

But I will definitely be trying the rest of your range as he seems to love them even after his first try this morning and he wasn’t hungry he’s not long had his breakfast. The only thing I’d change about these bags is they don’t have a re-sealable top strip the same as other big bags do.

Could you please put one on your bags too then these would be purrfect thanks.

First time trying these cat biscuits. I’m very impressed and so is my cat he’s a Bengal so is VERY fussy what he eats. Only thing I’d change is the 2kg bag doesn’t have a resealable bag. Can you please fix this as Tiberius doesn’t eat a lot of biscuits and this open bag might go stale before he finishes them.

We usually buy whiskers there on offer at £4 in Asda just now but as I’m not working I/we tried yours as they were £3. 50 in Asda on 2 November 2020. I only buy my cat biscuits when they are on offer as I am not working and any saving is great.

I am impressed with the more natural ingredients in these biscuits too. Wish we’d tried them sooner but they are usually much more expensive. If you keep them at £3. 50 or less them I will carry on buying them if Tiberius carries on liking them.

Think we will try the rest of your range too. As I said earlier please fix the bag with a resealable top then these biscuits will be purrfect.

We received our free 750g pack for our cat Henry to try. He was instantly crunching away, he really does prefer this flavour to any other go cat flavour. He is an indoor cat and to anyone who also has an indoor cat I would highly recommend this product.

His energy levels (he’s 9yrs old) are much better and we have noticed he plays more. We have had no problems! As he is an older cat he could eat this with no problems aswell and were the perfect size for him to crunch! 10/10 from Henry!.
