20 Best Cats For Mice (2022 Updated)

Some native cotton mice had gotten into my home, and I didn’t want to kill them because they aren’t usually household pests. When I realized there was a female mouse with young present, I got this from my local Ace, hoping I could catch the whole family and release them together rather than orphan the young.

Caught three young mice in this trap in one night-hopefully the whole litter-and an adult, presumably a parent, in a nearby Hav-a-Hart trap (also purchased at Ace). The Tin Cat was so much easier to set up and to clean afterward than other live traps, and it really works.

I only wish I’d been able to get the version with the see-through top.

It a very nice concept except the mice are able to come out by pushing down the palette. The food was gone so I checked myself and I found out that I was able push down the palette a little bit with minimum effort.

A field mouse just need 1/4 of an inch to go through a crack. I’m sure those mice had a good laugh at me after they escape. The worst thing is I tried a second time with no success. I’m so ashamed.

It has now been a couple months without a feline in our home, and the mice certainly have noticed. We got this trap because it seemed less finicky, was cheaper than other traps, and can hold multiple mice.

Using peanut butter as bait works great, place it right in the center, not near an edge, so the mouse has to enter fully. The first night we caught one adult mouse. You could hear it once caught. It really tried to escape, trying to chew bars, and get back out the way it came in, but the trap mechanism did not fail! I released her into the local cemetery the next morning.

The next day I put it back in the same dark location (a closet), and the next day there were THREE small, not full-grown mice. I couldn’t believe it! Cool, got the whole family! Another trip to the cemetery.

After a couple days, we moved it to another location where a mouse had been seen. The next night, we caught one more adult mouse! So in just over 10 days, we’ve caught 5 mice. The Tin Cat is in the basement now, and if there are any mice down there, I imagine it will catch them in short order.

More effective than I was expecting! Definitely recommended!.

I bought this toy about a month ago as a post-New Year gift for my kittens. My boy DESTROYED it in less than one day! I was fooled by the tough-looking synthetic fabric; he chewed a couple of huge holes in it, and now the catnip is leaking out onto the floor.

It was expensive, so I am going to try to salvage it by making a denim cover for it. Do NOT be fooled like I was, save your money and get creative. In general, I am finding that most commercially-produced cat toys DO NOT LAST.

The companies are more interested in getting you to buy more and more replacements than they are in making a good quality toy that will last.

We got a new tripod kitten recently and I wanted some new catnip toys for her, since her older sister prefers chasing/string toys rather than balls or other types of physical toys. I knew we’d have to test out everything under the sun to find her preferred play method and these are a hit (so much so she jumps onto and off of the bed at 2am with it in her mouth…which is not as fun for us but I love it for her).

She is tiny (5lbs) and will run around with it in her mouth or bat it around/roll around on it. The donut holes can get lost pretty easily since they’re tiny, but I’m buying another set even though she tends to ignore the big donut part … it’s worth it! I added some photos of our gal playing with the pink donut hole (she had her amputation only about a month ago so she’s still growing her fur back).

I’m always concerned about my cat’s teeth, ever since my childhood cat Tiger developed severe tooth decay later in life. I initially was a bit skeptical as to whether Cinder would take to it, he’s not usually one for independent play.

My fears were unfounded, thankfully, as he IMMEDIATELY found the toy, and went NUTS! I really shouldn’t be surprised though; Cinder is a catnip fiend! He plays with it so regularly that I’ve already bought 3 replacements as the current one is getting pretty worn.

If your cat looooves catnip and isn’t put off by minty smells, I’m sure your furbaby will love it!.

In my shoes, under the bed sheets, behind the curtain. my cats leave them everywhere and that’s because they love them. We play fetch with these mice. When I shake the mice and my kittens here that rattling sound, they come running.

They climb up their scratching post to catch the mice I leave at the top. they just love these things. I am happy they found a toy that entertains them day after day. I plan on ordering more.

My cat loves to hunt these mice and will play with them as long as he has them. They’re unfortunately made of a furry cloth covering a cardboard body, so my cat snaps them in half while playing with them.

Currently I only let him play with them for 30min each before they are in danger of ripping in half. Some of them have rattles inside, so I expect they would spill out. Okay price for 12 mice (since some of them inevitably disappear under the fridge or washing machine), but I wish they were a little more durable.

I searched the web for predatory cat toys. I found that these are one of my cats favorites. He walks around with it in his mouth, as it rattles. He thinks they are real. My sisters cat loves them too.

These are fantastic! My cat absolutely loves them, but also likes to hide them in hard to get at places! So now we have extras on hand. I have purchased this same product individually from pet places and paid $10 for 3, so this is amazing value.

My cat loves little mice to play with and is her favourite toy to play fetch with. Always playing with them. Reasonable quality although the tails will come off.

My cats and all my friend’s and family’s cats and kittens that I’ve given them to, love these mice! They play for hours! When my adopted mother cat had four kittens each one had to have their own or they kept stealing each others! Great playtime for all! None of them have ever become shredded or fallen apart or lost parts of the mouse.

I’ve never seen adult cats act as much like kittens as mine do when they see these toys. They play and carry on like the kittens they used to be, tossing them in the air, batting them around the house and taking them away from each other.

One package of these is going down to my best friends’ house in NC, as a gift from my little female to her cat. (It’s an ongoing “game” my friend and I play. the two cats are in love. They send notes and gifts to each other.

What can I say. we have fun with it!) I know her kitty is going to love these as much as mine do.

I bought these for Simon as no one can find the ones he had. It appears that these are too small for him; he ignores them. Stella, on the other hand, thinks they are fabulous. She tosses them, bats them, carries them around.

But she doesn’t talk to them; that’s Simon’s thing, but he doesn’t like them.

Out of all the toys I have purchased to keep my formally outdoor cat from getting bored, this is by far her favorite! It’s the one she always goes to when she has extra energy and the one that never fails to get her to play.

Is like to add that my cat is 18 and you’d never know if watching her bat and chase this mouse around. Is give the toy five stars, except that she has managed to chew the tail off both of them after 2-3 months of solid playing.

I’m still going to replace them though, because she loves it so so much! I’ll just make sure she’s supervised.

ive had to repurchase these mice for my cat now becuase he plays with them so much. he throws them in the air and runs with them in his mouth. they are soft with stuffing and a small bell inside that he responds to whenever i shake them.

eventually, he played/chewed them up to the point the stuffing and bell came out. i replaced the old ones w/new ones and he still goes for these a majority of the time.

These are my cats favorite toys. I buy them frequently to keep them on hand for him. He destroys them, so always have a supply of new ones.

I’m glad I saved some for later in the package. My indoor kitty had caught a live mouse (old house, rural area) and I released it outside. She seemed so disappointed! (I don’t know what else I could have done, she never kills them.

She just lets them go into a closet or under the bed so she can keep hunting. And I’m not about to murder a mouse myself in my living room) I felt so bad that she was down about it. But she definitely perked up when I gave her a new mousey toy from the package, started chasing it and tossing it around.

She still has the earlier ones from the same pack available, but I guess there’s just something exciting about a brand new mouse toy that hasn’t been soaked in the water bowl or chewed on by your kitty-sister yet.

My cats have never gotten into mouse toys unless they rattle like these ones, so I’m really glad I found them!.

I must admit…. I’ve bought more catnip, rattle mice at a cheaper price – to save money – but these are So much nicer. Definitely more fur- and a good rattle to them. The others were Very flimsy with a pathetic ‘rattle’.

I ‘marinate’ them in extra catnip in a plastic bag for a while – then give them to the cats at the local shelter. All kitties love these ! (And any other soft toy with feathers!!).

My cat always had what was left of some toy mice laying around the house but I couldn’t replace them because the local stores have not stocked them for years. Thank God for Chewy and Ethical Pet, my boy is back running around like a nut batting his mice all over the place until they eventually get caught under the refrigerator and Mommy has the rescue them.

Love the rainbow colors and the gray ones seem to entice him even more! Craftsmanship is great and they rattle and have catnip in them.

Well, I thought these mice were super cute, but my cats have yet to “play” with them. Evidently, cat nip is not their thing either! LOL. They seem to prefer soft hair scrunchies as toys and maybe one other toy.

I bought these to put in the cats’ stockings for Christmas. But while I was unpacking my Chewy order, the cats must have scented the catnip and they collaborated in snatching the plastic package and ripping it open.

In short order all four cats were rolling on the floor with the mice, tossing them around and chasing them. It;s a week after Christmas now and they’re still crazy about these.

I thought these were ok and cute, and I like this brand from other products. But I never see any of the cats play with them, and they are just in the same place every day not even touched. I don’t know why.

Not enough catnip maybe? Seem sturdy enough, and they still have their tails and ears.

I’ve lost my upper register hearing. Hubby and cat haven’t. I can’t hear these mousies but hubby and cat can. Hubby is not bothered. Cat is positively enthralled. These mousies fly around the house and are severely disciplined by said kitty yet they continue to squeak whenever batted about.

Benji loves them. When hubby no longer hears them, I will buy more. If he doesn’t hear the new ones but the cat still loves them, he will join me at the audiologist.

I bought 4 sets of these so my Ragdoll could always find one to play with since he bats them all over the house and loses them a lot. My Pomeranians found them and decided they were their favorite toy too I just watch them so they don’t tear them apart and try eating any of them.

So far all the animals in the house are enjoying playing with these and are gentle enough they’ve kept them in good condition and squeaking for a year, although we’ve only got one left as I can’t find the others any more I guess they’re hiding somewhere or they’ve taken them outside? Will be ordering more!.

My cat adores these squeaky mice, and I could not obtain them for a while. I was so glad to see they were back, and I immediately put them on auto ship. Upon arrival, one of the mice fell apart immediately.

It seemed the top had not been sewn and the squeaky thing fell out instantaneously. My cat is enjoying the remaining one. but I did pay for 2 of them and only received one in working order. I hope the next auto ship arrives with 2 completely working mice.

I had bought the “glittery type” rattling mice awhile back & my big Russian Blue cat loved it. However it appears this particular kitty toy was discontinued? Bummer. Oh well, found these, figured I’d try them.

I put a white one in my apartment’s living room & a black in the bedroom, just to see what my boy would do. He loves them, even interchanges between rooms , etc. , with them. Definitely worth the couple bucks investment! And the package has 12 mice, so it’s not like you only have a few anyway.

Granted, every animal’s different, personality, etc. And we all know it’s sometimes difficult , etc. , to “find what works to make ’em happy” right? But, good stuff is good stuff. Try it guys. You’re kitty or kitty’s, may react like mine did.

This is one of a couple of toys that our cat Iggy will fetch and bring back. It all started when she found a very ragged one that our previous cat had. Iggy brought it to us and taught us to throw it for her.

We thought it was lost so I went looking for new ones. PETCO was the only place I could find them and I bought a couple of pkgs of 3. Then they went missing and PETCO came to the rescue again, this time with a pkg of 12.

These little mice have something inside that rattles, so if I shake one Iggy comes running. She’s always bringing them to us to throw. Out of a box full of toys, these are her favorite.

My cat goes crazy for those. She fetch those, bring them back so we can throw them again. She plays with them by herself to. She brings them as gifts also. We tried other kinds and she is completely ignoring the other ones.

These seem to bounce a little, they rattle and I just realized there is catnip inside. She prefer the lighter ones, not sure why, maybe she can see them better. But if in front of her she plays with all of them.

The only other toy she plays with is a colorful snake on a stick and I have to play with her for that one. Hope that was helpful.

It is really important for cats to have their playtime and it also stimulates hunting. I put mine in catnip for a while in preparation.

I believe this toy is good in general. My cat did enjoy playing with it and carrying it around everywhere and sliding it around on our floors. However, the product is very very flimsy and falls apart quite quickly.

I can see lots of stitches etc and it is noot very proffessional to look at. I feel like the price point is a bit too high too for it. If you are looking for a small short term toy for your cat to play with, go for it as your cat will love it – if you don’t mind it being quite fragile.

Excitedly opened the pack but my cat completely ignored it so I cut one open. There’s no catnip at all in these ‘catnip mice’ , just a few pieces of gravel, no wonder my cat wasn’t interested. He’s not daft.

I’d advise you to be as discerning as my cat and just walk away.

Been trying to find these everywhere. Only ones my cats really like and Ive biught many different mice and play balls over time. They literally wear them out. Tails get taken off , eyes but I still find them over the house under things months and months down the line and they still play with them.

Even tho they dont quite look like mice anymore lol. Great buy.

Some of these you see from different vendors are knock-offs; these are the same quality as the one that came with your Go-cat Cat Catcher. The lesser ones will shred in days, while these hold up much better.

As always, the cats are nuts about them. They think they are real mice, will run about with them, growling a little, with a tail hanging out of their mouth. One of my boys actually managed to stuff two in his mouth at the same time.

We do use these in supervised play rather than leaving them scattered around, but it makes for a fun session with our giant kitties.

Our cat needs to play. She LIKES to hunt these on the Go Cat Catcher. But we’ve found that she actually LOVES to hunt these mice through the apartment, sliding on the linoleum floors, even more than when they’re on the Catcher.

We can toss them over her head and she’ll leap after it. And she’ll chase it down the hallway when it’s tossed that way. Sometimes she plays fetch. She entertains herself with these toys, too! They last a few weeks at a time, which is the only downside.

My cat plays fetch, he’s very picky about things he plays with. He absolutely loves these mice, by far the only thing he wants to play with. Perfect size for him to pick up and carry!!! I have so many because my dog steals them lol.

I have had a hard time finding cat toys WITHOUT catnip, so I was happy to find these. Our cat loves to play fetch with his mice, he drops them at our feet to play, and he also entertains himself with them.

He stalks them, pounces on them, chews them and chases them. His favorite is the most raggedy and worn one. Very important for indoor cats who need stimulation and playtime.

My cats aren’t too interested in these, sadly. One will bat them around from time to time if I really dangle it around them. It might get a few sniffs and licks at best when idle. The feathers don’t even seem to be the main attraction.

Both of my kitties love feather toys! Also, when I removed the tag, as should be done with toys, the mouse easily pulled open. The item doesn’t seem to be made with the understanding that tags should be removed before play.

I got my kitty at the end of August, and it’s been a wonderful time of getting to know her. She’s 8 years old and “well-fed” as the vet so tactfully put it (12. 5lbs), and her favorite activities include laying in the window, laying on the bed, and laying anywhere else she can fit.

Not a lot of activity, other than running when she hears her food being put out. I’ve been trying to get her to play, but with no luck. Feather wand? run away. Jingle balls? Look at me like I’m an idiot.

You get the idea. While recently ordering a new litterbox, I was a few dollars away from free shipping so figured, “why not?”, and tossed one of these into the cart. When it arrived, I waved it around and placed it near her, only to get the usual indifference.

So, in my final attempt before accepting she was just not into having fun, I put the mouse in her treat bag, shook it up a bit, and put the mouse back on the floor near her food bowl. The next morning, I’m laying in bed and hear some noises coming from her room (yes, my cat has her own room.

Wish I could give this no stars. I ordered this for my cat and she will not go near it. When I put it close to her, she backs away. I think the reason is the smell. This mouse has a very strong smell chemical smell.

It’s supposed to be filled with catnip but it smells nothing like catnip. Very disappointed and would not recommend this product. Not going to ask for a refund, as it didn’t cost much and we’re usually very satisfied with the things we order from Chewy.

This is a great cat toy for both kittens and adult cats. These mice are small, light weight, and colorful. And should one get lost, you have 2 other ones to fall back on. It’s fun to watch my granddaughter play the cat and mouse game.

The toy is good round “kicker” toy but my cat just wasn’t interested. I need to buy a different catnip, maybe one I bought before. This toy may work if he get better attitude. We’ll see! It is round and I “mjght” recommend it.

I bought this item as a gift for two different kitties that are not mine. Judged it on appearance, size for re-shipping and sturdy construction. It is super cute and colorful. Fabric looks like it will take all the love the kitties will be able to give it.
