20 Best Caulking For Stucco (2022 Updated)

My bathroom floor flexes. The tiles were always breaking loose and wiggling the grout loose. I took them up, cleaned away the remaining grout, replaced the grout with this stuff. It’s been a couple of years now and the tiles are still set perfectly.

My purchases to repair some tile grouting that has started to chip up. I was extremely pleased at the ease of use and the quick drying time. I will definitely be purchasing more of this item in the future as needed.

I would highly recommend this to anyone. The shipping was extremely fast as well.

Color and texture are a perfect match. Except when it rains. Seems like it will be durable and its application was easy. Hopefully paint/sealer will adhere. And hopefully it wont be noticeable when it rains?.

I’ve been using Big Stretch for years as a professional painting contractor. Product has always delivered performance and ease of use. After reading several 1 star reviews, it’s apparent that the people who left them don’t know how to caulk.

The bead shrank and there’s a gap the next day? All caulk shrinks. they left too small of a bead to begin with. The bead curls on itself and won’t stick? Amazing. now wipe the dust off and lay down a bead on a clean surface, and make sure the gun is at the right angle.

Doesn’t dry fast enough? That’s great, you’ve just learned how to read directions before using. Big Stretch recommends 24 hours to dry. There are brands that are fast drying and can be painted over in 30 minutes.

Use those if you’re in a hurry. I use Big Stretch because going back to a job 6 months or a year later to recaulk all the cracks that came back because I used $. 99/tube caulk doesn’t pay anything.

I first tried this when installing my new windows in the house, the guys who own the local lumber yard were contractors and then later bought the lumber yard, so I trusted their thoughts on buying the right caulk for the job at hand.

They weren’t kidding either, it’s been 5+ years now and this caulk is still soft, stretches and looks just as good as the day I laid it down. I’ve used it around the kitchen sink, in the bathroom around the tub, and every place you can ever think of needing to lay a bead of caulk down.

My only complaint with it, when you want this stuff to come off, you’d better have plenty of very sharp razors to help you and be prepared to spend some time doing it. If you want something that is going to do the job and you don’t need to worry about recaulking later down the line, this is the best stuff I’ve ever found.

Theres lots of caulk out there so you gotta tread carefully. Some caulk can mislead you. Let’s just call it a caulk jungle. Alex Plus is not perfect for all situations but it is ideal for trim and moulding.

It’s probably the easiest to apply. Super smooth is one word. But, I would not use it in a bathroom as it is not perfectly waterproof. I’ve seen it go hard and then soft again. Even a year later. What’s up with that.

And it has extra protection against mold. Those are too things you just don’t want: Hard/soft nonsense and you seriously don’t want moldy caulk. But the one thing above all it just smells dang good. It’s weird.

Better than all others. I will and have recommended Alex Plus to my friends.

Tried this product many times. Utter garbage. Doesn’t set hard. And when it does, it sets in white, not clear as advertised. Seems to be a known/recurring problem. Home Depot should listen to its customers and resolve this with the manufacturer, who seem to be making excuses that their product had no defects – nonsense! After scraping it all off, i tried MONO Silicone instead, worked perfectly first time; although it is pricey, but at least it did the job perfectly.

I only wish Home Depot would restock the GE Silicone brand which when i previously used it worked well, and cost less than the MONO brand. HD, please do something about this!.

I’ve coated my bathroom ceiling with it, my rv roof, one entire wall inside my house, and many stucco repairs. It’s durable, last’s forever and it won’t crack. Bonds to almost anything and makes a very waterproof coating.

Once it’s dry it’s like rubber coating whatever you put it on.

This product worked exactly as advertised. A little goes a long way. I used it to seal the grout between the new countertop and existing tile backsplash. If you use too much it looks like there’s a bunch of Vaseline so use sparingly.

Just enough to put a sheer layer is enough for waterproofing. A couple of notes: You will see a bunch of reviews saying the container exploded on them. This is most likely because they didn’t break the seal.

You need to poke a hole in the seal in addition to cutting the tip off. Also, the product smells very strongly of vinegar. I don’t mind it. In fact I prefer it to the chemical odor of other sealants.

All in all I was very happy with this product.

I allowed this to cure for over 48 hours and it seemed dry and set. But the first time it got damp it turned to sticky jelly! I noticed there was no use by date on it which concerned me. But after using it it seemed to set well.

It never occurred to me that it wouldn’t hold up to dampness. And it was a brief period of dampness. This is the third Gorilla product I’ve bought from DiscoverMyStore, and all three have been unsatisfactory.

I’ve learned my lesson.

Item was very messy because tubing is not sturdy. The base of the tube kept popping off and the silicon was very hard to get to come from the top of the tube. Had to throw the entire tube away because the base kept sliding off and couldn’t stop the product from seeping from the top.

Really messed up my project. Not the seller’s fault at all. Just not good packaging for the product.

Have been using this product for 40 years. In Ft. Laud. we used it mainly for stucco and concrete repairs. It lasted over 20 yrs on some of the jobs. Use it here in Jacksonville for wood repair. Big holes small holes cracks-makes no difference.

Use membrane if crack or hole is too big.

I’ve used sashco products before and they still haven’t disappointed. Made tuckpointing go smoothly!

This product worked great to fill in the OLD expansion joist that was no longer there in the cut/cracked cement of my driveway/house from the when it was built. I had to and YOU SHOULD USE a foam filler roll first to stop any of this sealant from just dripping away into the holes/cracks that will never fill if you don’t put something down to stop this self leveling sealant from just disappearing.

This is a liquid type of product and will “self level” when applied. Should ONLY be used on flat surfaces, not on vertical, it will drip down. I used the DAP product and had to buy this “Sika Pro” due to DAP no longer being available in my area.

I had to switch products and found the color is NOT the same for each of these different sealants. just an FYI. DAP is much lighter in color compared to Sika. They both perform the same, both flow and level the same and if there is anyway this product can filter down into the hole, it will unless you use some form of product to block and stop it.

Thus, the foam insert or expansion joist product is a great alternative then just watching this product waist away down the crack/hole, it will work its way in. This is not your regular silicone and will run/smooth out and filter down into the cracks/holes.

This product is great for cracked driveways/along garage walls and blocks of your home/anywhere you need cracks filled from water getting in and freezing. This will help stop the heaving of the cement and lessen the crack from getting bigger.

Great product! I will see what happens after the Winter. This product is supposed to expand and contract with the weather so time will tell. Right now it looks great. It is brighter than your old cement, just a heads up.

Its hard to find the correct color match with cement and a new sealants. good luck!.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and so far it’s been performing wonderfully! I used it to seal the saw cuts in my garage. First I removed dirt from and vacuumed all the saw cuts. then I used foam caulking rope to fill in the first half inch of the cut (so I wouldn’t use so much sealant), then, very carefully, applied the caulking to the seam.

It levelled itself beautifully and dried to a semi hard seal. I let it dry for 3 days before driving on it. So far it’s working out very well. Time will tell if it holds up to the driving over, hot tires, road salt and dirt this is thrown it’s way but I have high hopes.

It looks like very strong stuff. Very pleased so far.

I found this product worked wonderfully in sealing up the joint between the garage floor apron and the driveway. I also used it to seal the saw cuts in my garage floor and, so far, has worked tremendously well! It was a bit chilly when I was doing this work so I put the tubes on a furnace register to warm up first.

It flowed very smoothly after doing this. I avoided driving on it for 72 hrs after installation and it seems to have held up to subsequent drive overs. I would definitely recommend this product!.

The worst thing you can have when doing a project is a product or tool that fails. This is an expensive tube of worthless product that failed miserably. Unlike many reviewers, I paid for this, making it the most expensive and worst thing I’ve put in my caulk gun.

Started by coming out in paste-like chunks that didn’t completely stay in place. Then it just stopped coming out altogether. I finally had to cut a big hole in the tip and it started to come out watery.

Looks like white water that wasn’t even mixed in. Perhaps it separated out in the tube. Maybe it’s just low quality. What I got from this was a mess on my caulk gun; turns out it was also leaking out the back/bottom, and another trip to the hardware store.

Guess the 3M name doesn’t mean much anymore.

I received this crack repair tube, and had a variety of projects to use it on. I first wanted to commend 3M on their packaging, bright lettering that’s easy to read and know what you’re grabbing. Some might thing, Whoopie, big deal! But when you’re in the garage or in the basement looking for what you need and there’s a tube of caulk sitting next to a tube of grease sitting next to a tube of power grip, you’re really glad that the 3M is brightly lettered and can read it with old eyes in low light.

Now the product, I used both inside in my basement for some cracks in my foundation near my windows. This product went on thick and was still able to be stream into the crevice without much efforts. It dried quickly and it’s great that I can paint it later to match my bricks.

I also used it outside on my driveway where I had some stress cracks from a large truck parking there. Again it went on perfect with my squeeze gun and again dried quickly. Within 24 hours it was solid and ready for any beating I could give it.

I even drove over it and parked my 3/4 ton on it to test its durability. Everything held up to my tests, and my only complaint would be the tube seemed to not be as full as I expected, or I was just looking for more things to fill.

3M sent me a sample of this to review. The first thing that I noticed when trying to use it is that it plugs up the caulking tube VERY quickly. Keep a nail handy, and perhaps wrap the business end of your caulking gun in plastic, or it may get covered in caulk that has nowhere else to go but out the back.

It has a very smooth consistency. I used it to try to fill a very narrow crack between two floor tiles, and a small crack in an adjoining tile. It is fairly thick, so it does not flow on its own into narrow cracks.

The technique that worked for me was to press it into the crack with my fingers, and then wipe up the access. It is white. It is water soluble, so it is easy to wash it off of your hands, but that means you will have to apply some sort of waterproofing to it after it dries, as well as color to match whatever you are filling.

The final test will be to see how it stands up to walking traffic on my floor over time. The instructions say “Not recommended for structural joints or stress cracks,” so hopefully my crack in the tiles will not spread.

I have used the 5. 5 oz tube actually ordering my 6th tube now. Apparently after 15 years a neighbor appears to now be breeding these cockroaches. I’m filling every single crack in all of my cabinets, baseboards, light fixtures, etc soooo many cracks tooooo many cockroaches.

Anyways, it is super effective & I prefer the ability to use my hand to apply it. It allows for better control especially in tight spaces. Do you make an expanding foam for spaces too large for caulking?.

Smooths easily with wet cloth and damp finger. I use on painted woodwork to smooth seams, and finish with a final coat of paint. Alex makes everything flow together seamlessly. Also cleans up pretty easily.

Have used for years on inside walls, and trim, and is my go to for finish work. great value as well.

I purchased this because most caulk makes me sick when i use it. As in a headache, nausea, fatigue, irritability. (I have MCS) This gave me a headache. It was thinner than most caulk, stayed sticky longer and was not easy water clean up.

It didn’t shrink. It plugged the gaps. It takes a lot of skill to make it look good. I can still smell it days later. I an not sure what makes it safer for the environment. But it didn’t work for my personal needs.

Works well. Very low odor when using and hardens fast. We ran out of Safecoat caulk, so my husband used a different brand purchased at local building supply store to caulk air leaks around a window. Our daughter immediately developed respiratory distress from reactive airway, forcing us to close off the room for about a week.

It took over a month for the smell to dissipate enough for her to go into the room, even with the windows open. Now I make sure to have Safecoat caulk on hand.

As someone who has extreme chemical sensitivity, I can vouch that this caulk is much less caustic than others you will find at stores. Other caulks have bothered me for weeks while they cure and this one had no odor after just a couple of days, and gave me no ill effects.

Plan to use this from now on for caulk jobs. Worth the extra price for those who are sensitive.

This is my go-to sealant for critical applications. Like most top grade sealants, it can be a bit difficult to work with, but application gets easier with skill and experience. The payoff in adhesion and longevity, based on many years of experience and many projects, makes it a long-term reliable winner.

It can be tooled, but get yourself a full set of caulking spatulas so you have the right-sized tool for the job condition. I often use an inexpensive battery powered caulk gun to avoid hand fatigue, and speed up a controlled application.

Product comes off very easily. Does not hold. Question: Why would it be called concrete & masonry sealant if it really does not work? It just peals right off. I would not purchase this product again.

Water from rainfall entered Metal Building at outside bottom edges and flowed on top slab into metal building. Used Concrete silicone caulk to seal metal concrete interface to seal water drainage to outside.

Caulking was easy to apply and thus far sealed water to the outside. Would recommend this product for sealing concrete and metal surfaces.

Product worked great. It was fresh with a great price too. And thanks for the fast shipping too 🙂
