15 Best Cb External Speaker (2022 Updated)

Simple straightforward design. Plug and play. LOUD and CLEAR! I can hear everything! Take that with a grain of salt though because being a truck driver sometimes you really dont want to hear everything LOL.

Speaker broke after 2 weeks in service using my Kenwood TM-V71 HAM radio. It worked great until then. It started cutting out and the did not work at all. Benched it and discovered that the could has gone bad.

I’ve been using this speaker for about 3 months and it’s still just as loud and clear as it was the day I bought it. Really good value for your money.

Been using this for years with my Cobra 29 cb radio. Can easily hear everything now, mounted above upper seatbelt hanger in my Peterbilt right by my ear. Wires are long enough and now I have tailback also without having some yeahoo cb shop open up my pristine radio.

Purchased the HG S500 Dynanic speaker to go with my wife’s MX5 and new C 75 WX ST CB. The speaker on the CB isn’t loud enough to hear over the wind noise with the top down while running at highway speeds.

The HG S500 performs in an outstanding manner and can be clearly heard over the wind and traffic noise on the highway. Great sound quality and volume, much superior to the Bearcat speaker I have in my MX5.

This is the best. Not at all like those speakers that sound muffled and tinny. Incredibly deep and full sound. You won’t be sorry.

First off, don’t be expecting a speaker the size of a PA horn to arrive – this unit is only a 3″x3″ cube. But, the sound is pretty good for the size, it needs a minimal footprint here in my little radio shack (I have it parked on top of my Power/SWR meter), it appears to be well-built, and it looks sharp, to boot.

I have a CB base unit with squirrelly internal audio output, and this was a great workaround. It can be used for base or mobile applications (it comes with a mounting bracket and clips), but it would depend on your interior noise level for mobile purposes.

If you only have (or want to use) a 1/4″ headphone jack, pick up a 1/4″-to-3. 5mm adapter. Either way, it’ll keep you from selling or tossing a perfectly good rig over sound issues, and do it on the cheap.

It’s also good for testing the audio output on any gear that might have suspect audio output. It was a great investment for under $10.

Its a cheap speaker for a cb set or a scanner. What can i say, it does the job. Shippping was pretty quick and there is not alot of places these days to purchase a cheap basic speaker. Works for me

I haven’t used it much yet, but it sounds good. It’s nice to have the sound coming directly towards me.

This thing works beautifully and I am very happy with it. A CB radio is a CB radio, they are all limited legally to 4 watts out of the box and they all operate on the same 40 channels (unless you bring SSB into the conversation, we’ll skip that for now).

The only things you can really add for normal use might be some kind of channel scanning capability or whatnot but this unit does the core function of a CB radio just as good as units more than twice the price.

I’ve had some good crystal clear conversations with it and would not hesitate to buy more of these for other vehicles. You might need an isolator on the power line to cut out noise from your car’s electrical system but that’s not the radio’s fault.

Uniden makes very good quality radios and the 505XL does not disappoint in any way. Very good dynamic microphone, very clear sound & good output transmit power. Best of all I really like the small size, fits in any car or truck or boat for that matter.

The only feature that is missing is the NB or noise blanker, which can be found on other models.

Great price, normally these are $30+ individually. One thing you’ve gotta buy though is a meter to tune it ($10ish) unlike these other reviewers that say it’s plug and play. If you don’t tune it, you can’t hear or be heard too well and can ruin your CB.

I use it daily for driving triaxle hauling stone and paving and have zero problems essentially. The speaker is loud compared to other small units and the magnetic antenna is strongly attached to the outside windshield visor with a lot of extra length of cable inside.

Also if you have a speaker built into your cab or you want buy a louder one, there is a port in the back for it. Finally. this unit stays on the channel you select and doesn’t jump around like the trash other units that some company’s sell.

Don’t buy a billy big rigger Cobra for $100+ Unless you feel you need to burn money.

This speaker is loud, well built, heavy construction, and a very good value. It’s better than most of the expensive filtered external speakers. Keep you hard earned money and buy this speaker. You won’t be disappointed.

I have this speaker connected to a 2-meter Yaesu mobile ham radio that’s in my Chevy truck. The speaker provides PLENTY of loud, crisp and clean audio and that’s exactly what I was looking for. Solidly built and comes with a mounting bracket that’ll work for most installations.

Good well built communications speaker with excellent sound quality. Speaker is designed to be use as a mobile external speaker but I use two of them in my ham shack due to their excellent sound quality and small size.

Great radio without all the bells and whistles. I’ve had it for years and no complaints. I removed it from my pickup for a year or two because I got a different one that was supposed to be better and had a bunch of additional capabilities.

I ended up switching back to this radio because it worked as good and was simpler.

This is a great, tough, little radio and was a pleasant surprise at its performance. It is tiny, a perfect size for my ATV. The ANL is the best Ive tried that cuts out the noise from noisy local power lines.

Coupled with a 3 fiberglass antenna with a spring, I have great range in these East TN mountain trails from my Honda ATV. The overall performance was so good, I bought 2 more Pro510XL cbs to replace my others.

It was actually better than I expected it to be. I got my antenna mounted and had a local CB shop match it, and they said it was about as good as you can get as it was. This unit is small, well made, and works like it should.

Bought 3 on 2 seperate orders. I’ve tried many speakers but these have the best sound quality. I will probably order more.

works good easy to connect does filter RF the talk back is very low can barely hear it all in all a pretty good product.

My #1 choice for a mobile or base CB speaker. High quality, great price, 15 watt capacity, noise limiter button, realistic sound, and good looks. Comes with mounting bracket and hardware. Who could ask for anything more? I have used CB’s since 1977, and I do not know of a better speaker for mobile and base applications.

Works well with Uniden 980 SSB. Sounds much better than the speaker in the radio. Check your radio output wattage before buying any speaker. Sounds really good on an Anytone and a President as well. Highly recommend.

This little stinker works wonderful on my (mobile used as a base station) base station. It even has a noise limiter push button on the top to slightly reduce more noise. This speaker has a decent sound & clarity.

I use it every day.

As a speaker, I can’t fault it for much. The build quality is great, the sound is pretty good and gets pretty loud, the battery bank feature is always useful, and the app allows you to tweak the equalization a bit and turn off the power on and bluetooth sounds.

The frequency response favours bass above everything else, but only a narrow range of bass. If you have music with changes in bass pitch you can see the diaphragms on the sides resonating more or less as the frequency changes, so the sub-bass ends up kind of weak, and the volume will fade as the pitch moves away from that frequency.

This speaker tends to under-perform with genres like DnB where there are often notes being played in the sub-bass to bass range. With the diaphragms you will also sometimes hear it buzzing when playing frequencies that cause them to resonate strongly.

However this feature does give the speaker some strength, and for most music featuring punchy kick drums this speaker will sound best. Hip-hop and dance music will probably benefit most from this. It also continues to sound good at various volumes, however some detail is lost from the softening effect of the diaphragms.

A feature I wish it had was some kind of aux mode. Maybe it’s a hidden feature that works through one of the USB ports, but it’s nowhere in the documentation included in the box. So you must use bluetooth to connect your device.

A bit silly that it lacks a 3. 5mm jack when it is a decently big speaker.

I had originally purchased a Charge 3 years ago. One of my brothers also had a 3. They are great for syncing together at family events and my other brother was the convinced to buy the Charge 4 and wanted to borrow mine.

After trying to sync my 3 with his 4, I read up on upgrading the firmware to make it compatible with the 4 (Jbl Connect to Jbl Connect+). However my other brother with a 3 didn’t want to upgrade because he often synced his with a friend that still had Connect.

After forgetting my Charge 3 at home while on a two week trip, I purchased a Charge 5 expecting it to be able to sync with others via Connect+. Im disappointed to discover that now there is another update that is not backwards compatible with syncing old models.

This was a main reason why i bought it. They other thing i really liked about the Charge 3 was the ability to use it as a external phone charger when needed. Unfortunately, while the Charge 5 does have a USB port for charging external devices, it doesn’t really work for the latest phones like iphone 13 Plus.

Also the missing prev track and next track buttons. Overall, I would recommend anyone with a Charge 3 or 4 to stick with those models, because the charge feature is no better on the 5 and a slightly better sound quality doesn’t make up for the lack of backwards compatibility.

I bought this from the York store, a friendly team that couldn’t do more to help. I had heard the smaller Flip 5 and fell in love with it’s punchy sound with a surprising bass extension given it’s size.

As we do a lot of travelling I thought the Charge 5 with it’s power out would come in useful given all my family members have devices. The additional and smooth tweeter gave a noticeable sheen to every instrument and it definitely had extra warmth and bass-whump (probably not a real word) over it’s little brother.

It came in very useful for watching lap-top videos in the evenings, and in spite of being mono it absolutely nailed the powerhouse soundtrack so important in helping to create the emotional drama of S4 of Stranger Things (our nightly fix when indoors) and although will never compete with a full-range HiFi, does a very competent job in rendering the detail found in more intimate music, rendering the subtle grain in the voice of Damien Rice and being able to define the leading edge to the piano of Bill Evans.

Acoustic bass was very tuneful and was convincingly solid enough for me. So all-in-all a very chunky and well made product, no hesitation in recommending to this that hate the sounds from their tablets, phones and laptops!.

I purchased 2 of these speakers. Tone was just OK, but, both had issues with harmonic distortion, switched out radios and other speakers, these BOTH had poor audio due to this, even at low volume. After 1 month of occasional use in my work ruck, the volume control knob now does not function.

Don`t waste your money on these, cheap is cheap.

By the look of the volume control I assumed it was somehow AMPLIFIED. a waste of my money & I purchased (2) of them. They both hit the garbage can!

I installed this external speaker in my 2006 Wrangler TJ. If you own one? You’ll totally understand the limited amount of space we have inside. This is very clean, compact, easy to install and has incredible clarity with the sound it produces!.

I have said I would not recommend it simply because for my needs it was not loud enough but it did work ok and for the money it was fair.

Excellent CB. No frills basic model. Put in my car with Wilson magnetic base antenna. Hooked up swr/power meter. Dead keys 4 watts. Shows about 7 watts while talking. 1 -1. 25 SWR. Truck drivers I’ve talked to ,say it sounds good and clear.

Compact unit that could be installed almost anywhere. It doesn’t have the bells and whiistles (PA, instant channel 9, etc), but I like basic operation. The LED signal strength meter leaves a little to be desired, but again, it works.

This particular unit has not been fully tested with a radio check, but appears to operate as advertised.
