20 Best Cd Label Printer (2022 Updated)

I’ve had the same label maker for years, but my batteries corroded inside and it stopped working. Dymo still makes this model, so I got a new one. The first one I tried kept jamming, but apparently, you can’t re-use batteries (meaning you can’t take the batteries from the old one and put them in the new one, you need all new batteries).

I took it back to Staples and they exchanged it for me, and even gave me a set of batteries at no charge. They went above and beyond service. Thank you. I also never realized that this model has an optional dc cord that you can get.

I went ahead and ordered that as well, but it hasn’t come in yet.

Been using label makers for 4 decades – craft containers, baking jars, plant tags, etc. Own many makes and my Brother was the go-to but the tapes got super expensive. So I tried the DYMO 160 and wish I’d owned one years ago! The tapes are affordable, and there are a variety of colors on ZORO and other sites to choose from.

The best part is the split backing which makes it super easy to remove from the adhesive side. I use the Black on Clear for white containers, clear glass and plastic containers, etc. Has an auto-off that saves the batteries and packed with features.

I’ve read reviews that complained about the sophisticated levels of options, but thats actually a feature that allows a compact tool to offer way more options than surface buttons would allow. Love the qwerty keypad, big enough buttons to easily navigate without mistakes.

For the price there is no better label maker on the market!.

Feels sturdy. Good desktop size. Might be a little big for smaller hands to hold for a long time. Print quality nice. Cons: disappointed that tape will not stick to clean electrical wires (must wrap tape around wire and stick to itself; biggest complaint is that lower portion of the display is almost impossible to read (I.

e. , font size); and finally, I was very surprised at what I considered, the short length of the provided tape. If you use this a lot, tape replenishment is expensive.

I let the magic smoke out of my antique PT-10 plugging an AC adaptor in that was polarized incorrectly so I purchased this, succumbing to the Siren song of more features, greater tape selection, included AC adaptor and ability to print from mobile device or computer.

I looked at less expensive models since I don’t really print labels that often and really wanted the Cube model which they didn’t have in stock but the temptation was too great. So far it works very well and meets my expectations.

The app (macOS) is fairly straightforward but could use some documentation with respect to how things work. I figured it out after playing with it for a bit. You incur about an inch of waste per label and if you are printing multiple labels there are documented settings that can be tweaked to minimize this waste.

The waste is the distance from the cutter to the left edge of the next label and is due to the distance between the print head within the cartridge and the cutter that is outside the cartridge. The tape has to be fed this distance to cut the printed label at the right edge.

If you print multiple labels at the same time this ‘waste’ is not necessary between labels because this ‘waste’ area will be part of the next label. It is unavoidable so the reviews panning this waste are complaining about something that nothing can be done about.

At best they might be able to reduce this by a few millimeters without a complete redesign of the cartridges and machine. I can see where this might seem unacceptable if you print short labels one at a time but you just have to understand why and try to work around it by following their suggestions.

I haven’t printed from a mobile device yet but the desktop app works acceptably. Hats off to the Office Depot associate who advised me to store it in a Ziploc bag with desiccant packs so humidity doesn’t get to it.

It’s humid here but somehow I never thought of that myself.

The Brother P-touch PT-D610BT label maker has great connectivity options and is easy to use. I can simply print a label by turning it on, typing some words and pressing Print. I like that it’s so simple to use with the built-in keypad directly.

It also supports printing via a smartphone or computer with their app and connecting via Bluetooth or USB. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it comes with an AC adapter. Otherwise, it can be used with 6-AA batteries.

It has a color display that is bigger and brighter than my previous label maker. In an office, a label maker is useful in making this clearly labeled and legible for everyone. The label maker also supports different fonts, adding borders, and even barcodes.

It also supports different TZe tape sizes, up to 1 inch wide. I like having this in the office so everyone can help make things look organized and professional by being clear and legible.

I am the type that loves clean cut stuff, and this Brother P-touch PT- D610BT Business Professional Connected Label Maker | Connect and Create via Bluetooth® on TZe Label Tapes just takes the ball out of the ballpark.

Never have I seen such clean-cut labels, very detailed labels, and high-quality print. One of its best features is the Bluetooth connection, never have I seen this in a label maker or USB if that is your preference.

The color LCD display is just out of this world, and the quality print is outstandingly high quality. The “built-in” templates are very useful as well. A very user-friendly machine has amazing print quality, and the value is outstanding.

Highly recommend it if you run a busy office/store. This is by far one of the best P-Touch label makers I’ve ever tried. Highly recommend it.

I used Zebra before for my work and some other printer I don’t remember the name of. I started selling products online needed a label printer. My friend who does eCommerce also recommended DYMO LabelWriter 4XL.

These printers are high printed since you save so much money and time from buying INK. The software works fine. The only issue is if you use screenshots and try to print a label this way. It might not be super clear.

If a website you use for mailing gives you a sideways label. That should be on an 8 1/2 ” x 11″ paper. There don’t have a way to change the size to 4″ x 6″ and just the label. Then you have to screenshot and crop the label.

That can be an issue a lot of people have an issue with. The screenshot software for DYMO doesn’t work all that well. This is something to think about. Pros: works will 98% of the time. (depending on the labels you use!) If you use non DYMO labels they might be fine or they might not.

Don’t have to pay for Ink. Cons: If you use non DYMO labels, Sometimes it will keep feeding labels. Sometimes it will not print straight.

I have been using this printer for a couple of years now, and I give this 2-2. 5 stars. PROS: — It is an aesthetically pleasing product. Although it has a few years now, it still looks fresh and sleek.

— Speed of printing is satisfactory — Noise levels are minimal (it is completely silent when idle, and fairly quiet while printing), that’s a huge plus! — Durability is good CONS: — Installation is a nightmare, the driver is not downloaded automatically by Windows, and one has to search for it manually.

Second problem is, they are nowhere to be found, it is as if Dymo does not want you to install it. Out of the frustration, then you may guess “maybe that Dymo Connect thing might help?” and it does, if you manage to download it! And when you finally do, it is not even the lastest version.

Dymo needs to hire better people. —Then, many of these machines are faulty. My first one broke (“the last USB you connected to this computer malfunctioned”) the first day, after a single print. It was unfixable so I had it returned.

The second has been lasting longer, but has this problem rising (without any notice) every now and then. It is fixable, but takes about 15-20 minutes every time. Too much for a printer you actually pay for (remember that they restrict you to use only their uber-expensive labels).

— (minor) The machine comes with a huge power brick, same size as the ones that come with much bigger devices. I have no doubt that there’s a better way around this in the 21st century. * (minor) The blue LED light cannot be turned off (not good if your bedroom/studio apartment doubles as a shipping station).

Not a major problem, but it accumulates.

What a waste of money, time and labels. Couldn’t get it to print a normal page, it would start too late, and the label would not be complete, margins were all off the edge. And the fun part… Loads and loads of blank labels keep spitting out and feeding through.

Had to watch YouTube videos to figure out how to fix that, tried to clean the print head but that didn’t work. Considering that this was a brand-new item, I shouldn’t have to clean the print head to fix a problem of labels spitting out over and over again.

I returned the printer and ended up printing out a piece of paper and taping it to the package. Should have done that to begin with.

I bought the PT-P700 to replace an existing label printer as I was looking for additional functionality. I’ve found the P700 to offer a lot of flexibility in its easy incorporation of graphics, and ability to print on different materials – such as shrink wrap.

There are a lot of neat touches in the P-Touch Editor software too – and they work very nicely together. Loading new tapes is very straightforward. Setup too was reasonably simple. The only thing that threw me initially was the need to turn off the in-built software to allow my Mac to control the device.

I am familiar with and have used P-Touch label makers since the mid-1990’s. I like them, and they are often the go-to labeler for those needing label tapes. P-Touch is so ubiquitous that the brand itself is an eponym, much like Kleenex or Clorox.

The only negative that I find with this product is the amount of label tape that it wastes. Brother has deliberately engineered this printer so that it cuts off a small portion of tape, prints, and then cuts the tape so you have a label.

The official answer from Brother is that they have to do this for the label to print properly. In the end that is just lazy engineering and ends up wasting tape meaning that you have to buy tape earlier than you would normally have to.

That is my only complaint about the printer, but it is a big one and the reason that it only gets 3 starts IMHO.

I bought this a couple of years ago and it worked for the first couple of months. I only used it infrequently to make labels for the cables in my home theater. I liked that I could add graphics and different fonts.

After about month 5 I went to use it and it would not connect to my PC so it became useless. I did find that for a while I was able to make it work by holding the USB connector is a specific position while printing but eventually that would not work anymore.

So now I have a useless paperweight.

Awesome! Why so many fake 5 star reviews on this item? Why is the average rating so much lower for this product on other websites? Anyway, I have three 450s, a 450 turbo and a 4XL. all ok label makers.

Dymo doesn’t make good label makers, they make cheap label makers and charge a midrange price. I bought this 5XL because my 4XL has constant issues printing, sometimes you need to press the single button, sometimes you need to print a label for a different label maker to trigger the 4XL to work.

All Dymo printers use a through head label design, possibly because their cheap plastic cases can’t situate a label properly over a thermal head. If you think that causes disastrous paper jams. you have no idea.

It can take a full day to fix a jam in one of these flimsy printers. All those printers are gold compared to this. Used ones are selling for a fortune because the new units are inferior in every way.

This 5XL is specifically designed to not print thermal labels. weird right? This machine has been over engineered to prevent it from working. it needs a microchip, only available on certain select Demo branded labels, in order to function.

Imagine having to buy Bosch water to run your dishwasher, that’s what we’re dealing with here. Dymo cannot make a thermal label printer, only a Dymo branded thermal label printer. If you pay a king’s ransom to use Dymo’s branded paper vs whatever paper you would like to use, your printer gets unlocked.

unless that chip fails for whatever reason. or the sensor that reads the chip fails for whatever reason (it will never work again for any paper if that happens). They do give you a cut roll of about 25 labels to get you hooked, so you can just take that chip off that roll and put it inside your Dymo, but you would be limited to 4X6 labels.

Have older Dymo labels? This printer won’t work. Decide to buy your own paper? This printer won’t work. Have some preprinted elements on your corporate label? This printer won’t work. See a theme here? What if Toyota didn’t feel like engineering their cars to run on regular gasoline and you had to buy special Toyota gas? Would you think they’re a good company to work with or particularly good at engineering? The decision to deprecate all older Dymo printers and force users of new Dymo printers to use new Dymo paper or to be locked out of their machines will ruin this company.

The board room thought is that they will make more money. but if they don’t compete in the corporate market where Zebra dominates, and they force small businesses and home users to return all their new machines as “broken” to the store they purchased from, who will be left to buy $25 paper that has the possibility of breaking? It seems pointless to point out the other sacrifices the 5XL demands of the customers they hate since anyone even remotely considering purchasing this machine deserves what they get.

Nevertheless it needs to be said: newer software is needed to lock your printer and prevent you from using it, so this uses Dymo Connect and not Dymo Label. This doesn’t mean you can use the printer without Dymo software with regular labels.

at least on Mac OS, Dymo software disables security features of your Mac in order to install print drivers that force you to use paper with a chip on it. As if this wasn’t all bad enough, now your Mac is vulnerable to Trojan horses and Viruses.

because someone at Dymo wanted to trade customer satisfaction for a raise. This software doesn’t deserve to be in Alpha phase. it doesn’t work. Features like having a clickable running list of the last labels printed, the ability to import information from a CSV file AND add those elements to a label (importing works, applying variables to a label doesn’t), and saving profiles for batch printing (probably because the import function is broken) are all gone.

No new features were added, except the ability for the software to lock your printer if you attempt to use older Dymo labels, your own labels, or newer labels with a misaligned or damaged chip. UI/UX of this software is FAR more confusing than the software it replaces and most features are buggy and will not implement correctly on your label.

The Dymo 5XL is the worst output device I have ever used in my 40+ years of computing. The Dymo Connect App is the worst corporation-created executable I have ever used, baring some infamous software packages that just didn’t work.

This DYMO 5XL labelwriter/printer is a great size for a home office or even an in office workspace where shipping labels are needed often. It came with software that you must install to a PC first. That was easy & the registration didn’t give me any problem either.

Setup of the device itself was really easy too. This printer is impressive with the size, fronts, types of labels etc it can make! Various shipping labels, bar codes & if I seen correctly even QR codes can be made & stuck to packages! I’ve used it once & allowed my apartment building office staff & a neighbor who makes crafts to use it & they enjoyed the ease of use & experience printing what was needed! The only reason that I gave this product 4 stars is because because with this 5 XL model, you have to use official DYMO labels with the RFID chips & no others will work (we tried, just to see).

So, depending on your needs that could get very expensive to replace the label roles. However, I believe it is still a good quality product & very easy to use. If you’re tired of using other means of printing or buying labels & want to do it from your desk, this could be exactly what you’re looking for.

Everything I wanted. Softerware is compatible with my computer. Performs perfectly. Labels are crisp, clear. Comes off the sheet easily. Applicator works like a charm. Price is perfect for my budget.

Great content and if you can’t find what you want in the 1600 preloaded content you can make your own. INSTALLED AND OPERATED FLAWLESSLY ON WINDOWS 10, 64 BIT VERSION.

We had an old Disc Makers Medley 440 that served us well for 10 years. Was a bit nervous about this model but after we got it set up, did some upgrades, and after calling Primera, we got it working. Found out you have to run the Sure Thing CD printer software as administrator or it won’t print.

Once we got that figured out the Bravo SE-3 has worked well. I just finished printing 125 DVDs without a hitch. Prints 20 discs at a time in a reasonable amount of time. There is 1 ink cartridge for all colors, even black, so it is a bit pricey.

I do not know yet how many DVDs we will get from 1 cartridge but software says over 1,400 discs left on the ink cartridge. You can change quality of the print to save some ink.

The CW-75 is part of the Casio line of thermal printers for CD -DVD disks. It provides a neat professional look for labeling these disks suitable for home or professional use. There are companies that can label and reproduce quantities of CD’s at reasonable cost but for the limited run CD used for presentations, song demos, family videos or other limited copies of data or media this printer is perfect.

It is intuitive and simple to use, especially using a PC via USB cable. The required program can be downloaded from the Casio web site. The ink ribbons are not cheap but not unreasonable given the quality of the finished product.

It works best using blank disks listed as suitable for thermal printing which are not hard to find with a simple Google search. Thermal printing is crisp and clear and does not run like labels printed with ink jet home printers.

CD’s will not jam because of stick on paper label problems. If you are happy with a felt tip marker then this is not for you obviously. If you are not happy with felt tips or paper labels this is a great alternative.

Casio appears to have stopped the production of these units at least for now, but the inks seem to remain available and have a long long shelf life so if you can get into your machine for a reasonable price you really have little to lose if inks eventually become unavailable.

A risk worth taking in my opinion if you need what the Casio machines offer. There is no other reasonably priced thermal alternative.

I’ve looked for a long time for a good CD/DVD printer. problem is, most use special or proprietary media in order to print. This doesn’t make it very cost effective for everyday printing. I have several Lightscribe drives, which work okay for CD’s, but the resolution is terrible for DVD’s.

and they take forever to print. I have a friend that turned me on to the Casio CW-75, and I absolutely LOVE it. You can use cost effective CD/DVD blanks, and it’s super simple to use. You can even hook it up to your computer for easier text entry.

The label cartridges are very reasonably priced, and the battery life isn’t bad. You can get an AC adapter fairly cheap if you don’t like battery packs. Retail pricing is around $100. 00, found it on eBay for $25.

This Casio is a great printer for people who need to writer on discs. I’m a songwriter so I used it daily. I bought this one for a back up just in case. I’ve used it to make sure it works and it does.

I recommend them to all my songwriter friends. I’ve had trouble submitting this review. The “submit” button won’t work.

I originally had a Dymo that worked ok for a while, until it started misfeeding and just fell apart. Then I bought this Zebra printer and have never looked back. It has made me countless labels and continues to perform flawlessly.

This thermal laser printer arrived nicely packaged and complete. It works well in producing good-quality thermal printed labels. The quality is not the prettiest, but it is quite legible and it does the job!.

It does not print clear. My laser prints better than this thermal. What a fiasco.

Using this for my business has upped my professionalism 100%. Brady prints clear labels on a variety of label media and is very easy to use. The various label films work well for cable wraps and regular labels and stick much better than less expensive label printers I’ve used.

The only criticism I have is that the keyboard is not QWERTY and the ABC format makes typing slower for me. The printer is more expensive, and the real Brady label cartridges are not cheap, but they are worth it if you want to be a professional.

This is my second printer I had one that I used in my business. I purchased it used and it stayed with the business. I am using this to label drawers tool boxes and bins for personal use. I like that I can make labels to identify these things with out opening the drawer box etc.

I was in need of a replacement professional grade labeler for IT applications, and this is by far the best tool I have used for labeling cables and patch panels. The standard nylon fabric labels are very adhesive and easy enough to peel off.

I had to refer to the user guide a couple of times to adjust the print and label size. There are a lot of options and features, so it is not nearly as intuitive to use as the less expensive labelers I’ve used in the past.

A big plus, though is that it does not waste space along the edges like my old Epson, and the labels are really durable and adhere exceptionally well. Pricey, but if you do a lot of labeling and you need the labels to stay put, I definitely recommend this one.

I stumbled across these years ago, not knowing they would end being an essential item that I use regularly at work. I’m the Safety, HR & Office Manager at a steel plant and labeling basically everything is not only a company requirement, but also required by OSHA.

These labels are perfect for all my labeling needs. Steel dust is inevitable where I work. If you’re not familiar, it’s thick and black and covers everything and when you wipe it it’s very hard to remove it.

Sometimes impossible. These labels are laminated, thick and glossy and the steel dust doesn’t stick to them. From what I’ve seen from these labels they will still look brand new 50 years from now. Maybe even longer.

They also stick extremely well to every surface I’ve tried them on. They are also very easy to remove and leave no trace of being there. I can use these labels and pretty much forget about them. If I were to use paper labels, I’d have to replace them at least monthly, if not more often.

I’ve used these to label every machine, every piece of equipment, every pipe, every forklift, etc. , etc. , etc. While I’m completing inspections, I carry a rag or paper towel and simply wipe the labels off and they are like brand new.

The ink doesn’t run at all. We have over 15 buildings and there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of these labels in each building. They are a life and job saver for me and every employee I work with and that’s not exaggerating.

Example: It’s not very likely that a new employee would automatically know which pipes are compressed air and which pipes are oxygen or nitrogen, which would quickly blow a building up. I know these labels aren’t going anywhere and will always legible.

My organizer brought her Brother PT-D400AD to label during house organizing. Easy to use with so many options. Love the Qwerty keyboard. Love the bigger size and we have used it for all our labeling needs beyond household and kitchen including notebooks, etc.

Highly recommend to all families and especially to my fellow OCD organizing types. Note: Be sure to double check the color of the label tape when reordering. We prefer the white label with black ink.

We ordered wrong color – clear with black ink. We use on notebooks now that we opened the box but we prefer the white tape. PS. Brother, is there anyway that you can put labels inside the labeler that shows how to install the replacement label tape PLUS on the bottom with condensed version of instructions on options? So many.

Those instruction manuals are SO unfriendly.

I have 2 P80 P-touch label makers and always used brother branded refills. One ran out so I ordered an aftermarket bundle of 6. After using both for 6 months I can tell you that there are 2 main differences.

First, the aftermarket ones are pre slit and peel much easier. Second, the brother ones are $20 each. The ones I bought from the South American River site :} are 6 for $19. Do the math and you will see the outrageous mark up brother has with their products.

To make it worse, I didn’t use my rewards card when I bought the store ones because I forgot I had it.

You the funny thing is this thermal printers hasn’t changed in a decade. I seriously have this exact same printer, sans usb, and there is no difference between the two. So at the very least I expect to get a decades worth of service out of this guy.

If you need a reliable, well built, long lasting label printer it’s money well spent. You can’t go wrong.

We have Five of these. Everyone likes it. It makes our jobs easier. EXCEPT!!! The software is horrible. It keeps resetting the size of the type, and the format cannot be locked down despite a setting to that effect.

You have to format before you do anything else. You cannot make changes to any formatting on-the-fly. Worse, reinstalling the software does nothing to improve matters. You need to reset all your presets from memory before you can use it.

This machine was a godsend when we purchased it and still is if it would work on the new software upgrade. I always used the original driver V8 and it worked fine , however recently it just gives me a blank screen.

i cant find my original driver disc that came with it and I find Dymo Connect a horrible user interface , plus all our business labels are stored on the original Dymo V8. I’m using Windows 10 and I need to get the old driver back but cant seem to find it anywhere just a list of the newest drivers.

I upgraded my computer and bought a new labelwriter 450 to use with it. Wish I could get my old labelwriter back. The new 450 has buggy software, somewhat cumbersome formatting interface, less than great documentation and spits out whole rolls of labels when it constantly loses label alignment and advances through the whole roll so that I have to manually wind them back onto the spool to avoid wasting tons of labels.

Hold my breath every time I print a label hoping I don’t get a total mess and 20 minute time penalty. Not good for productivity! Have used two generations of Dymo Labelwriters previously with good satisfaction but very unhappy with this 450 Turbo.

There are several other printers that do the same thing and are likely a good value in their own right. They are all the domestic car companies of label printers, and this is the BMW of label printers.

It has an industrial/commercial heft to it that others don’t have. You can tell it was built solid to meet the demands of constant daily use. My business owns 5 of these and have never had one break or quit working.

Identical printers can have different firmware and different drivers, so setup can be a bit tricky. Just because its not working like you want it to doesn’t mean it wont, just take a little patience sometimes.

This one is also large enough to hold a larger roll of labels than most. I use a lot of 3×2 labels. One roll of 1200 labels is cheaper than two rolls of 600 but most other label printers wont hold a 1200 roll.

This one will. The print heads are expensive but I have never had one go out. My oldest one I have been using for 3 years now to print out about 50 shipping labels a day and I had to set it to print darker only 1 time and its still not all the way on darkest.

The print head still has plenty of life left after 3 years of pretty heavy use. It could die tomorrow and I couldn’t complain.

It took a little time watching youtube videos on how to set it up, then another video on how to adjust your print settings. Once that was done, the product works absolutely amazing and WHY DIDN’T I BUY THIS 3 YEARS AGO? If you run a business and still use an inkjet or laser printer, the amount of time this thing will save you is worth every penny! Never tape over a label again! You can dip these labels in a bucket of water and rub all over them, the lines are still crisp and perfect.

CONS: My particular unit must have an extremely loose power connection, if you touch the cords or move the unit ever so slightly I lose power. So once you get it in position and have power, don’t touch it!.

I bought this printer because it said in the listing that it could be used to print USPS labels. What they don’t mention is that this printer technically is only for use with UPS’s shipping software.

I am an IT professional and it definitely took some work to get it to print. You have to download the UPS driver from Zebra’s website and install it (even if you aren’t going to use the UPS software).

Then you have to monkey with the label size and margins to get the label to line up with what you are printing. If you do get it lined up, the print quality isn’t the greatest and it does haze out in spots.

I don’t have a bar code reader or whatever tool USPS uses to scan it, so I don’t know if the slight fading affects their ability to read the bar codes. So far, I haven’t had any packages returned. Bottom line: Setting up this printer takes some work, and it will never work Perfectly unless you are using it with UPS’s shipping software.

Installed flawlessly and easily. Running liquid with Corsair H110i GT. Purchased for the 40 PCIe lanes (can run dual x16 video cards and dual M. 2 x4 SSD’s at full speed). Runs at 26C when not under load.

Have not had need to overclock yet. Note this does not come with a CPU fan or heatsink. I knew this when I ordered though, and pairs wonderfully with closed system liquid coolers. People say this is not as good for gaming, but I somewhat disagree.

From what I have seen it easily overclocks to 4-4. 5GHz. And with Win10 and DirectX12, even if games do not use more than 4 physical cores, DirectX12 will spread processing across as many cores as it can which has shown dramatic improvements over DX11.

The more cores you have the better going forward! However I do not JUST play games on this, I use Photoshop and Lightroom as well, and this processor screams without breaking a sweat. Especially with M.

2 SSD boot drive at over 2300MB/s Read. Feel this future proofs me for a while at least over the 4xxx series of processors.

I got this because I wanted to run 2 GPUs in SLI at 16x and have plenty of room for expansion in the future (M. 2 drives to be specific). Put this on an Asus Rampage Extreme and at first it was a mixed bag of results.

At stock the processor worked fine, but during overclocking trial there were some extreme stability issues. However, these issues were due to the MB and not the CPU itself, and after a Bios update the system is running stable at 4.

4ghz. Even at OC the temp remains pretty stable, well below the thresholds (I think the hottest I have seen under load so far is 140). I have this sitting under an EK Supremacy EVO block and a 360mm radiator, I don’t expect any problems.

This might be a problem for some people however since liquid cooling is going to add at least another $100 (looking at Corsair offerings anyways), so total price would be north of $700. That being said, it’s an excellent product (as long as you are not only concerned about Ghz) and I would recommend this to anyone thinking about upgrading (particularly from an older CPU like my trusty i7 950).

Make sure you buy a heatsink, the E series don’t come with one. Before you pull the trigger on this, consider the 5820K and the 5960X. The reason is for the price, this is not necessarily a good choice.

Unless you need more PCIe lanes for 3-way SLI or the like, the 5820K should get you the same performance but for a good deal less money. The OC results seem to be right about the same according to the hardware sites.

Also, the 5960X might seem a bit underwhelimg, since it has a 500MHz slower base clock, but again it seems to overclock no problems. So the only case where the 5830K is the best is if you don’t wish to overclock and want the highest base clocks, or if you have a use for more PCIe lanes, but can’t swing the massive price for the 5960X.

I’m not saying don’t get it, obviously I decided it was the best for me, just make sure you consider the other options. In many, many, cases the 5820K will save you 30%ish and when OC’d provide the exact same performance.

Setup was a cinch. I barely used the manual. PC downloaded the driver, I think automatically as I connected the printer. Figuring out how to properly size the labels took 2 or 3 test runs, but after that it’s been flawless and very fast.

It’s definitely making my shipping a much easier exercise. I got the printer factory reconditioned, and upon receiving it, it looked brand new in plastic. I went on to order (from another seller) a highly rated stack of 1000 labels.

I did have to tinker in Rollo settings to print the Darkest it could, otherwise the barcodes were a bit weak/lite. That said, a new Rollo of this model is fairly expensive for not having Wi-Fi capability.

But I couldn’t see spending hundreds more for one that had Wi-Fi. In this day in age, I think it’s practical to expect everything to work wirelessly, but that’s not the case with all printers, whether ink or thermal.

So the Rollo remains connected to my PC, and I can’t just print from the app on my phone. Minor inconvenience, but I’ll upgrade eventually. If you’re not very familiar with printer setups, you’ll need to select 4×6 label, and perhaps even reduce the size from 100% (fit to label) to 95% to fit, otherwise on my first test run I found it started printing the next label (in a batch of labels) a bit lowerthan I wanted.

A label holder or oe sort wold be a good idea, because if the labels aren’t feeding into the printer perfectly, they may turn a little inside the printer & print crooked. I recommend.

This is an updated review: I purchased this printer in March 2021. I had never dealt with this type of printer before and had no idea how it should work until it did. It never scanned well for me at home so I had to manually enter in all my codes.

I only realized today because USPS advised that I need to get the printer aligned in order for them to scan the labels. The postman went on to explain that they had an excellent scanners that can basically scan all kinds of labels and even their scanners were having difficulties.

This was always an issue from the very get-go and I thought it was just user error as I was new to this. Now I know better. Unfortunately, I’m out of $150 and we’ll have to purchase the whole new setup.

I won’t be dealing with a refurbished item again Initial review: Easy manual setup but wow, the computer setup to work on an ecommerce store is a bit confusing. Rollo website helps a ton but youtube was what helped me work through the issues.

If you have a Mac then don’t even think about buying this printer. It is NOT compatible despite what their website says. I used this printer for a couple of years on my old Windows computer and it worked great.

I switched to a Mac and my computer doesn’t even recognize it. I’ve tried using it on my wife’s Macbook Air and it doesn’t work on that either. Rollo has been no help even after countless hours of speaking with their customer service.

I purchased the wireless adapter for it thinking I’d be able to use it that way and I had to return it. The adapter requires use of their app and their app is completely useless. It would never even let me open it.

Basically, I have a very expensive paperweight now. The only thing I can do is sell it for about half the cost that I paid for it. What a shame.
