20 Best Cd Scratch Remover (2022 Updated)

I bought 1st one new with bonus or double pads, polishes, sanding discs. I LOVE it. I have seriously many 1000’s of computer CD-ROMS, DVD’S, music CD’S, Sony Playstation 2 , 3 , and 4 game discs Blu-Ray discs.

As you will notice the sanding discs are the “WET-DRY” type. You almost never need the coarse sanding discs. ( I never had to use them ) the fine discs are 600 grit. I also made discs using 800 grit and 1200 grit wet-dry sanding papers.

I use a little water with the sanding discs. They last longer and stay cleaner than using them dry. I also use 5 or 6 DROPS of water before adding white and blue polishes. Using my finger to spread water on buffing pads before adding polishes.

You will not need to go into center of buffing disc with water or polishes about a half dollar size in center of buffing pad does not wear so you do not need to add polish to center of pads. With water, just a few drops, buffing pads seem to last much longer.

When sanding I ONLY use the 10 second cycle. And if it needs more then another 10 seconds. Buffing I will use 20 seconds and if needed another 10 seconds. ##MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT HEAT UP DISC YOUR RESURFACING## Sanding will make lots of friction and disc will heat up very fast.

I have resurfaced PS 3 and 4 as well as Blu-Raydiscs with great results using 800 or 1200 grit for 5 seconds. ( turning power off half way through 10 second cycle ) then white for 10 seconds and then blue for 10 seconds.

I have yet to ruin a disc being resurfaced using this technique. Loved it soo much bought extra buffing pads (20 pack) cut my own sanding discs with 3M wet-dry paper in 600, 800, 1200 grits. Bought another slightly used JFJ Easy-Pro machine.

I got 2 machines now. FINALLY you need to keep the insides CLEAN. also clean between sanding and buffing especially. Paper towels work good with an old toothbrush but a regular old cotton towel works best.

Use only JFJ brand polishes and pads. I know its expensive but you can make your own sanding discs using a little double sided tape and cutting a circles out of a sheet of 3M wet-dry sandpaper. If you have a giant collection of PC.

software. games. DVD movies. Music CDs. Playstation X-Box and the like you NEED this machine. NOTE. If disc is scratched on the printed side and you can SEE. when you hold the. disc. up to the light.

Specks, scratches and. light shining through. Discs are RUINED BEYOND RESURFACING. Discs are translucent but when you hold them up to light and you see. spots, lines , specks of printed side missing and light shines through these discs.

I purchased a large amount of video games from a used game store and needed a machine that could clean them without breaking the bank. This disk cleaner has received mixed reviews but it seemed like the best option in my price range.

I don’t regret buying this but I will go ahead and say that you need to practice before actually cleaning disks you want to keep. I destroyed about 6 disks before I got the hang of it. I tested the machine on a variety of setting and kept notes on what exactly worked.

The instructions provided suggested keeping the disk in for 2 minutes. which I found to be way to much time. While using this machine I have noticed that certain disks seem to respond differently to sand paper, buffing solution and polishing solution.

It’s really just a lot of trial and error. Once I figured out what worked I had no problems. I have primarily been cleaning playstation 2 games with light to moderate scratches all over the disk. The machine seems to get hot with continuous usage.

I would run the disk for 20 seconds with the buffing solution, let it sit for 10 seconds, run the disk again with buffing solution for 10 seconds. THEN. Run the disk with polishing solution for 20 seconds, let it sit for 10 seconds and run the disk again with polishing solution for10 more seconds.

ALWAYS USE THE SPRAY THAT COMES WITH THIS. If you are looking to buy one of these, I would go ahead and suggest doing it. Just be aware that you will absolutely want to practice with a few junk discs.

DOES NOT WORK FOR BLU RAY DISCS.

At first glance this machine seems to be either a bargain or a toy. After buying one i’m both very pleased and disappointed. The entry price would be awesome if it was problem free but you get what you pay for.

This machine will repair really bad scratches however it takes up to half an hour of repeat cycles. The machine has 4 pads and the design is velcro and so you are constantly changing pads non stop. On top of this you apply the paste manually.

It gets messy. Further, the machine is not truly suitable for blu-rays that have any kind of scratch and most current generation games are blu-ray. That said it will repair my hundreds of scratched up games i have to the point of near perfection.

It just takes a lot of managing. I am solving my problem by actually buying another machine and might buy up to 4 machines so i don’t have to change pads since i envision the velcro becoming a problem longterm.

For me, It gets the disc close enough to fully repaired it is worth the investment if you have a lot of games and cd’s. In the end though my games will be going to the game store for a much reduced final repair at a gamestore.

This machine is reducing my cost there from $3-4 each to a single dollar so I am happy doing the pre-repair at home. It is worth the investment from my standpoint. Not sure if i’d be happy with a solo machine tho.

This is a good product that will shine plastics well, but it will not get rid of deep scratches, which is what should logically be expected. If you use this product with a high RPM buffer, your chances of removing deep scratches is improved, but bear in mind that in order to buff out a deep scratch, you must remove a depth of plastic equal to the depth of the scratch, which may cause irregularities in the surface.

Still, it will make a worn plastic item look more pleasing even if deep scratches remain. I used it on a turntable dust cover.

the novus polish cannot be used on eyeglasses, I ruined mine. you must read the back of the bottles.

Getting associates to use the correct cleaning items to clean acrylic surfaces can be a challenge. It’s almost like they thought they should use steel wool to clean. Thankfully this kit will help reverse some of the damage they have done.

I did a lot of research about fixing the light scratches on my car trunk before purchasing this product. I have mixed reviews about it. It’s a 3-step process. 1) Sand down the scratches with the provided sander pad and water mist.

This was really labor intensive. I ended up attaching the sand pad to a drill to make this part go faster. Still, I probably spent over an hour doing this. You have to be slow, methodical, and careful about it.

You need to sand out the scratch, but not get into the paint layer. I was disappointed that the kit only came with one small sander pad. Definitely needed another, if not 3 of them. 2) Buff with compound.

My main complaint with this step was that the compound comes in a packet (like you’d get for salad dressing), so there’s no way to seal the unused portion. Also, it’s a bit messy when your using the drill buffer, even if you spread it before you start spinning the drill.

I had a lot of cleanup to do afterwards. Otherwise, it seemed to work fine. 3) Buff with polish layer. Exact same complaints here. No way to seal unused portion. Makes a bit of a mess. It did restore the shine, which I was a bit worried about after the step 1 sanding.

Overall, it mostly worked. The shallow scratches are gone. Shine is back. The deeper scratches are still visible, although less visible than before. Perhaps if I was braver, I would have sanded the larger scratches down more.

Or maybe if I had more than the single tiny sander that felt like it ran out of steam before I had attacked all of the trunk scratches. Not sure it was worth the money and effort though. Perhaps I was over ambitious looking for a magic bullet solution.

Driving on the freeway a truck in the lane right to me hit something, like a piece of tire or plastic or some sort of other car part debris. The truck’s rear wheels threw the piece up to the left and smacked it to the right side of my car.

Scratched the right rear fender (metal) for about 5 inches with black paint transfer (my car is white pearl). This thing took it out. Period. Followed the instructions, sanded it with the provided pad, then polished then buffed.

Looks like new. I became so excited that I went around the car checking for all kind of scratches just to fix them. Well worth it. You must have a drill or a drill driver and you must know how to handle it because it wiggles.

I used a RYOBI One+ P208 and it worked fine.

I could tell right away that my sound improved after using this lens cleaner. I put an older CD player back into action and it did not sound quite as I remembered it. I was happy to find that this lens cleaner was still being made.

If you are a music listener you need this product to get the best sound you can from your CD/DVD player.

Product was delivered on time and in good condition. I used it on our 2008 Toyota Prius CD player (a 5 CD model). Before cleaning, a Jesse Cook CD that we particularly like, was not recognized by the player.

After cleaning, like magic, the CD is now recognized. I also used the CD cleaner on a portable CD/radio. Before cleaning, CDs sometimes would skip. After cleaning, the CD player works well. The CD cleaner is easy to use with voice instructions when the user inserts the Cleaning disc.

The cardboard was loose from plastic, disc had scratches. I used it once and it seemed to help for the first dvd I played after but the next one or two, same problem as before. Over all, I would not buy this product again.

I had meant to buy one of the known brands and made a mistake in ordering this one.

I’ve used similar items before, this one seems faster and more efficient than any others. What more can I cay about a CD/DVD head cleaner? Buy it.

For security reasons I removed the controller display from my new electric bicycle overnight. I put it in my pocket with my keys. I was SO disappointed when pulled it out and the plastic lens was all scratched up.

I read every review of every product before buying this one. Some said the tube arrived half empty, so I was ready for that. It still looked like the right stuff though. It took very little effort, I thought, to repair the damage.

First I tried just the paste, and this improved things a lot, but there was still a couple of deeper scratches. So I used the little piece of wet/dry sandpaper that came with the kit. I did a bit at a time, just to make sure I wasnt going to make it worse.

But in no time at all, maybe 10 – 15 mins the job was done. Sparkling and clear. Impossible to see where the scratches had been. Im completely delighted! My new bike looks new again. I cant speak highly enough.

As good as I expected but not as good as I hoped. Used to remove very fine scratches from a motorcycle screen, the results look good initially but dont last as its leaving a film covering them rather than removing them.

That film comes off after washing leaving only a minimal improvement.

When my motorcycle fell over the perspex screen was badly scratched. I used this product more in hope than confidence. After about 10 minutes of firm polishing the scratches are no longer visible to the naked eye.

Saved me buying a replacement screen. Just a word of warning. however. I also tried it on another screen that was only slightly scratched. It made the problem worse but I think the screen had a clear protective coat on it so it was my fault, Basically it does what it advertises to do.

It’s fine. It works, but you’re better off purchasing each of the components separately. If you have just one little scratch and you’ll never need another one, I guess it makes sense to buy this kit.

But, it’s like buying a pre-packaged snack pack instead of a full bag of pretzels, full block of cheese, a pound of grapes, apportioning them yourself, and getting five or six for the same price one cost you.

It worked fine on very light scratches on my car – hairline scratches. Those scratches were gone. For deep scratches, it did not work, and it was not supposed to work. I cannot say how well it will work on medium scratches between light and deep, as I did not try it.

Could be a little better. It does get small scratches out but the items included in the kit do not finish the job. The instructions need to include that wax or polish may be needed to make the area shiny again.

Leaves the paint dull.

Digital Innovations Cleandr did not work. I would not recommend product. My problem was car CD stopped working after 13 years. CDs load but got Reading Error 1. Repeated use of product did not resolve problem.

It’s the only cd player cleaner I could find that works on car cd players. All the others were for the ones that the tray slides out, none would work on the slot loading kind that are in cars. It works very well.

I use it every 2 weeks and my car system sounds great. So I think it’s a good product. I was just happy to find one that worked on cars. Thanks for making this product.

It worked as far as inserting it, and using it to “clean” the player and to eject it when done. However, the next day when I inserted a CD I had to force it in and it would never come out after that.

I cannot use my player anymore. I will have to get a new one now.

This is a very easy simple to use product that enabled me to restore some of my more damaged discs, without having to have them replaced. I would recommend this to anyone that has family related discs with weddings and such to restore them to viewable condition.

I initially bought this product to clean/repair game discs for resale. The pads aren’t useable for long before they need to be replaced, and unfortunately they haven’t started packaging them seperately (that I can find), so even if you only need (in my case) the repair pads, you buy the whole kit.

So, it works very well, just better for random use instead of regular :).

Haven’t opened it yet but I like to keep it that way because they’re hard to find in the price was fair I’m Works excellently for what I need it for It prepares just perfectly and I’m very much happy with it.

I had a badly damaged CD, It took out all the damage (scratch’s)! As said: you have to be patient, this disc was beyond repair, I ran it through the memorex repair cycle 10/times and all scratch’s were removed, including the deepest scratch! I could not believe it! 110%, this product will repair disc!.

Ive used them with two 35 year old albums but took at least 4 times to get most of the scratches out; also it may leave some circular marks non so visible. The pads for cleaning and fixing will only last only 25 and 15 fixing periods no more.

This is my third one. The drive motor is a little underrated and tends to burn out. This is my third unit I bought in about 12 years. It really does work. On some scratches You may have to run the unit in repair mode for about 10 cycles to get the scratch out.

But it does work for about 90% of the discs that I had to repair. I sometimes put a small weight on the top door to apply a little more pressure on the repair pads.

I originally purchased a 2oz bottle to try on my Cd’s. Well it worked so well that I thought to try it on my headlights. Well to my amazement it works on all plastics. I was so pleased that I recently had to replace my 2oz bottle with an 8oz bottle.

Can’t beat the price either. Congrats on a great product that is now in my cleaning bag of tricks. TY.

I had some bad scratches on one of our bathroom sink top. Being plastic I had tried rubbing compounds, scratch removers and several different polishes. When my order of Novus products arrived I immediately gave them a try.

Most of the scratches were removed. Great product. saved me from replacing the counter top.

Even following the instructions exactly this product has failed to remove even the lightest scratch I have tried it on. It does clean a computer screen nicely but appears to have 0% effectiveness as a scratch remover.

As for the “special cloth” that was supplied with it, it seems to be nothing more than some type of paper towel. Any star rating I was minded to award has disappeared into a black hole.

A pro suggested this product on a boating group that I follow. Having mixed luck with other products, I thought I would give it a try. I had windows that hadn’t been touched in three years and they came out looking almost new again with very little effort.

You really don’t have to clean the windows first, although it makes the application a little easier. It also seems to leave a layer of protection on the isinglass that helps them stay a bit cleaner. This is definitely my go to glass cleaner going forward.

I just got new eisenglass installed on my boat. I used this stuff yesterday to clean it for the first time. Works exactly as advertised. It’s expensive in my opinion, but still worth it to clean and protect expensive eisenglass.

I must confess that I was a bit skeptical about this product. however, it was enough to use it the first time to give it 5 stars. When it tells you it’s a “Scratch Remover” it’s because it really is.

The 23305 210 Plus Plastic Scratch Remover Cleaner and Polish is a white foam that I easily applied on the plastic surfaces of my car. Clearly, the foam exerts a slightly corrosive effect that removes scratches and leaves the surface clean and smooth.

Highly recommended.

Pay no attention to the pre-determined fields where the rater is forced to enter a response, often before he/she knows much about the product or has a chance to use it sufficiently to determine if the product woks.

The disc is easy to use and it potentially works; however, my problem was not resolved by the disc. I DO NOT mean to imply that the disc does not work; I actually think the problem was with my movie disc and not the DVD player, in which case the product could not have worked for my purpose even if it is effective for its intended purpose.

SUMMARY: my review is essentially worthless in this case.

I ordered this product because it looked attractive and appropriate for cleaning my DVD player playing track. It will ship promptly, receive in a short time, and I ran it in my DVD player. Followed instructions and put a drop of the cleaning fluid on the little brush on the DVD.

Worked like a charm, and even told me when it was done! My DVD player seems to have a richer color because of running the cleaner. First time a DVD player has been cleaned for about five years. Good product! Highly recommend!.

I got this one because of the price and reviews. My old cleaner was around 10 years old and wouldn’t work in my pc but did work in the blue-ray player. So I got this. First thing I noticed is that it has only one brush, compared to my old cleaner which has two.

The single brush is glued on and appears like it might fall off at any moment. After applying the cleaning fluid the red dye in the brush started running. Very cheap. It did run well in the PC where the other one no longer does.

But I can’t really tell if it worked or not. Personally I’d save the money and get a name brand that has two brushes. I think most have two brushes because of alignment, one for cd laser, and one for the dvd laser.

Either way two brushes clean better than one. Another thing is that the plastic case this cleaner came in was very cheap. It was very thin and broke while I was trying to open it. Over all not worth the money.

I kept it but went back to using the old one. The brushes are a little worn but it works.

Before using the drive cleaner disc I was repeatedly getting “coasters” – failures especially whenever I would try to burn a DVD or Blu-Ray. After eliminating the other possible causes, such as by spending more money for “better quality” discs and placing bubble-wrap cushion under my external drive to reduce vibration, I was still getting repeated failures at trying to burn discs.

Then I purchased the Allsop drive cleaning disc with carbon fiber brushes and let it run for about half an hour working it’s magic cleaning dust and static from the lens of the drive laser. Now I get successful disc burns almost 100% of the time – even when using the less-expensive discs.

Granted there is still the infrequent failure which may be due to a defective disc or a jolt/vibration to the drive during the write procedure, but for the most part whenever I start to get failures repeatedly I just take time out to use the Allsop carbon fiber cleaning disc and take care to dampen vibrations to the drive and the “coaster” problem goes away.

The Allsop drive cleaner disc with it’s carbon fiber brush technology was purchased at a great price on Ebay and was undoubtedly one of the better investments I’ve made in quite a while.

Hi, I purchased this because our cd player was skipping. I went to bestbuy and the cheapest they had was $29. It also didn’t mention cd players, it said it was for dvd’s. So I found this one and purchased it.

I put it in and it seemed like it was doing things. Then I tried a cd that had previously had been skipping. It seemed like it worded at first. It played through parts that had been skipping, but then it started skipping again.

I tried recleaning it and same thing. So it seems like maybe it worked, and maybe my cd player is just shot? I don’t know. If I had not seen any difference, I would have given a bad review, but since at first it seemed like worked, I would have to say it might work for you.

For the price, it’s worth a try.

I had three digital players that would skip or go into digital distortion after running a short time – one of them finally failed to operate at al ! After running the ALLSOP UlTRA PLUS thru them, all three are playing great.

It’s been two weeks and no trouble at all. It is a great product It does exactly what it is advertised to do and I’ll keep it with in reach to keep my laser pickup clean. Thanks Al.

Brilliant. I really didn’t think my cd player could be fixed but it works well now. I am really pleased. I think the price is really cheap as well. Overall I would say that I would recommend this product to anyone.

It worked well on a DVD unit but when used on a CD player it was obvious that the 2 cleaning brushes are prone to loosing bristles. The CD player then refused to read any CDs resulting in a costly strip down to remove the lost bristles.

The cleaner doesn’t operate a full clean cycle on CDs as the section that is supposed to tell you cleaning is complete, does not operate (ok on DVDs). If you purchase this item I recommend removing any loose bristles first and maybe not use on CDs.

For a very good value for money product this CD/DVD drive cleaner performs very well. It also has a function to clean CD/DVDs which came as a surprise bonus. Have used it to clean a CD player drive and a PC DVD drive.

Did not seem to work at all in any device I tried it in. Not designed for dvd use apparently although it does not say that. It was purchased to clean a dvd drive in a navigation system and it did nothing.

No instructions as to how to properly use the “fluid” (like where or how much to apply). Waste of money and time.

Out of the package, looked used. Had scratches on the disk. CD/DVD reader couldn’t open. Was unable to follow the instructions. Could have been a faulty reader or could have been that the scratches prevented the reader from opening the disk.

I have had one like this before so i knew what i was buying and it works well. It is basically a normal disc that has a tiny brush attached to the under side. You pop the disc in and it will prompt you to play a certain track which will align your laser eye and the tiny brush up with each other and the brush will then sweep off your eye in a matter of seconds.

You can visibly see little particles on the disc that the brush sweeps away. Its very simple but it does a good job. I recommend this product.

I was unable to choose my language to explain the process like it says on the box! Don’t need directions, just press play or ok and it does it’s thing! It cleans surround sound, sub woofers, right and left speakers! Only takes less than two minutes! I did my blu ray player twice! I like that It works with gaming systems too! It didn’t fix the picture quality but I do think it helped the sound quality! I’ve been having a screwy distorted picture on my TV off and on for awhile! I think it’s time for a new TV!.

Say what you will about people owning a CD, DVD, or Blueray player, but if you have one you’ll eventually need one of these bad boys to clean off the lens without taking the player apart. In my case, I have a rear entertainment center on my Land Rover LR4 that has a 6-disc changer where it stopped reading the discs to error out and taking this apart was NOT an option nor did I ever want to.

I recall going to BestBuy, Fry’s Electronics, or even Target to get one of CD cleaners back in the days, but I didn’t bother trying to drive somewhere to look for an antique tool. Luckily good o’l Home Essentials Direct has this gem of guy to do your bidding.

The disc is merely a DVD that has 3 tiny bristels attached to it and all you have to do is put the disc in, let it play until you can see the menu screen, and then select the menu options for audio. I didn’t do the audio part yet, but once I saw the menu screen I knew the lens was cleaned and sure enough I was able to see all 6 discs in each cartridge slot.

I spend more money on stupid things than on this little gem. For the price of a beer at the bar, I now have a working DVD changer that my kids can enjoy watching movies while on the road. I’d rather hear another Frozen movie than kids yelling and screaming.

Okay. I gave it four stars but honestly. I’m not sure about it. I have an old Sony carousel dvd player. I think I was expecting too much. It seems to have worked. I can’t say anything negative about it.

I’ve got a 2016 VW Golf and noticed I had a couple of big scratches down one side – these scratches had probably come from a hedge. I did the usual research and found this had good reviews. Yes perfect – works a treat.

I didn’t have to rub too much and it removed most of my scratches. I was so impressed I went over the whole car. The wax resin brings up a wonderful shine. However, like most reviews say ‘if you feel the scratch with your finger nail, then it’s too deep for this to work’.

For superficial scratches, I definitely recommend this!.

I bought this about a month ago and have used it on a black metallic and blue metallic colours. I was trying to remove light surface lines, probably caused by growth from roadside (hedge), which were really only noticeable when cars were newly washed.

The treatment was easy to use but I had to apply the restorer three or four times before I was happy with it. It did not work on deeper small damaged areas. It is good to have the polish with the pack, and also the applicator and duster.

Overall reasonably happy. Possibly expected more given the reviews I had read and the Which Best Buy recommendation.

Waited several months in order to buy this as was out of stock everywhere, even with the manufacturer. Not sure why but reason I was after it was based on a Which? review which made it a ‘Best Buy’ with the summary comments: This all-in-one car scratch remover kit produced amazing results.

It made the shallow scratches on our car door vanish from sight after the first use. Having finally got to use it I can attest to that! Great product at a very good price.

my motorbike helmet visor has become scratched with age not serious but the low sun this time of the year accentuated the faint scratches. I applied the paste and rubbed it well. I did it again and the visor is now scratch free, and I saved 50 on a replacement visor.

Tried to use it on motorcycle helmet visor, surface seems smoother, but surface scratches still remain the same as they were before use of this solution. The aim was to remove surface scratches so it not worked for what it was designed for, at least in this case.

I did follow manufacturers instructions of use from the packaging of the product.

Bought this product specifically for my motorbike visor. It didn’t work well for me! I’m gonna try it on my headlights on my car. But as for what I really wanted it for. It’s a no from me!
