20 Best Cd Slot Mount (2022 Updated)

Vent mounts didn’t work due to the shape of the Mercedes vents which aren’t flat. Don’t use the CD so this seemed like a good work around. Only thing is the volume button gets in the way so had to flip the mount which is no big deal as use the steering wheel volume controls anyway.

Plus the small magnet holds a heavier phone over speedbumps which is perfect. Good value alternative if you don’t want to have a permanent fixture on your duco. Best value mount on the market.

For 2008 Kia Sportage – we’ve tried the stick on magnetic mount that I use in my 2015 Ford G6e but it melted off due to incompatible surface, tried 3 times. Then the vent mount. totally useless! Grip spreads open plus it’s so close it blocks them.

After Google search I found the CD slot type. Weeded through options & chose the Scosche. Hallelujah! As close to perfect as you’ll get for this application. I work care shifts so I’m in & out of the car & always use the Drivemode app to play Spotify lists, take calls & have Google maps running showing my ETA for shift.

Cradle options just don’t suit, too fiddly but this mount sits firm in CD slot, so does the magnet to my phone. JB HIFI delivered quick as! Look no further, this is your answer!.

Works very well. The CD slot mount hold pretty well and I was not surprised by that. I was very skeptical that the magnetic mount would hold, but it does hold very well. I’m giving 4/5 stars because unlike the advertisement of videos, my iPhone 7 would NOT hold when the magnet was between the phone and the case – the phone would drop at the smallest bump.

But, when the magnet was mounted to the outside of the case therefore allowing the magnet to make direct contact with the magnetic base, the magnets hold the phone solid. The ball mount allows for a small amount of adjustment, and hold solid when tightened.

Build quality is great. Overall a decent product!.

The holder itself clips in really well into the CD holder. Its really firm & doesn’t move…. However, the piece that holds the phone which is separate to the CD holder piece keeps falling off. Also my phone is in a case & the holder keeps tilting downwards as the phone seems to be heavy (but don’t want to take out of case every time I use it).

Also think about where your CD player is in the car, I drive a mini & CD player situated quite low so not easy to view especially as phone then starts to tip downwards!! A good idea but think about where it will be located in your car.

Interestingly, the product comes with no instructions. No paper, no information on the packaging. I couldn’t even find any information on the Mobile Fun website. You have to guess how to assemble it.

Most of it is pretty self-explanatory, except for the three little pieces that came with it. I still don’t know what they are for. My guess is that they are spacers, because they are identical, except for the width.

They perfectly fit on top of the “lip” (not sure about the correct term) on the mounting part of the holder (base) that fits in the CD slot. If you put a piece on that lip, it will become thicker. I have no idea why you would need a spacer.

The CD slot is thin enough for the base. In fact, the CD slot on my car turned out too thin. The base just won’t fit in it. As I was trying to insert the base in the CD slot, the screw that attaches the arm to the cradle came out of the plastic stripping the thread.

The screw is way too small. I was able to fix it by replacing the original screw with a screw about twice as thick and almost twice as long. The phone is held in the cradle by rubbery brackets on two sides.

If you squeeze them together really tight, the grip is snug, but it’s not very easy to achieve that with one hand. It would be better to have a button at the back of the cradle so that the brackets would snap closed as you push the button with your phone.

For a long time, I didn’t know there was a foldaway support at the bottom—again, because there are no instructions. As I was writing this review, I looked at the pictures of this phone holder on the Mobile Fun website and noticed that it has a bottom support.

However, the position of that support is not adjustable, and the side brackets may cover the buttons on the sides of the phone. Releasing the phone is not easy with one hand, either. The release button is hidden behind the phone and not easy to reach, especially if the phone is wide.

To push that button, you would have to reach behind the phone with your finger, or even with your thumb if you have a steering wheel on the right side and have to do it with your left hand. To summarize: 1.

No instructions. 2. Base too thick. 3. Flimsy screw holding the cradle. 4. Bottom support not adjustable. 5. Not easy to operate with one hand. Still, I like the idea of using the CD slot for mounting the phone holder.

The arm is short enough, providing limited bouncing. If it fits in your CD slot, I would recommend it. Just make sure your CD slot is in a convenient location and the phone will not block access to any controls or interfere with the gear stick.

Works and is much more secure/stable than the usual stick to window or air vent designs! Bought my partner one Xmas 2020 (and treated self too). his friend saw it recently and was impressed so purchased one for him too.

No complaints off any of us product wise. Only downside for me is it does hide most of my stereo display which doubles up as phone connectivity screen, but I was aware that ws a risk when purchasing.

I have gone through a lot of car mounts between my car and my spouses. The air vent style is no good. The phone gets blasted by the heat. So it gets nice and warm, but you dont. !! The Cd slot mount on the Koomus is super simple and puts my phone in a perfect position.

No clamps, bungee wires, hooks or anything. The magnet is STRONG. I placed the metal plate inside my pure gear slim case. It holds my phone very snug. The mount stays where it shoud and hold the phone perfect.

The only mount i will ever use from now on.

The attachment to the CD opening works, but not overly stable as it is relatively small and uses a spring-loaded “fork” to hold itself in place. With my S5 Active in place, it is a little bouncy, but not horribly so.

Overall it seems to do the job and hasn’t fallen off during normal driving. I chose this one as it seems to hold it up higher relative to the opening so I can still see my touch screen, but it only pivots without any articulation, so I still lose the top bit of my screen.

A good solution and handy without the clamp. Metal plate is thin and works behind my Body Glove case. A worthwhile investment.

Having read both positive and negative reviews I took a chance on this product and ordered it. Easy installation and very strong magnet are the pluses. The big negative is the cd slot insert isn’t strong or deep enough to hold my iPhone 4 in place.

After a while the holder has worked its way out of the cd slot and everything falls on the console. I installed it in my Lexus so it’s not due to a rough riding car jostling it out of the slot. I may put it in my Tundra and see if it works any better.

Works like a charm. Fits perfectly and snug, holds an iPad Air 2 perfectly without the iPad pivoting downward even over rough road. Awesome for the price and great quality build. Would buy again without hesitation.

This thing is awesome! Im using it to replace a shody CD mount that doest actually insert into my CD player. The old mount would fall out anytime i hit a mediocre bump in the road. The depth on this one greater than the old mount, which is what i was hoping for.

But, this exceeded my expectations. This one though! Wow. To break it down: first the depth is perfect. It actual inserts into my CD player. But the best part is the locking mechanism. It has a latch you push up in that causes the middle arm to raise, putting pressure on the whole mount.

I would break my CD player trying to remove this with the latch engaged. Top notch design. The magnet is strong too. My phone isnt that heavy so that isnt a concern but its nice to know it will hold anything you attach to it.

So I seen the photo on here with the one reviewer saying it works on a iPad mini so I’m like yea should work on a fold 3. Only problem is if you care about wireless charging you kinda can put the mag pads center.

So the only place you can put it is at the very bottom. So I gave it a shot and see if it *holds up and no it doesn’t, the z fold will just slide upside down due to positioning. I then repositioned the mag pad to be center covering the wireless charging point and it works fine.

But the plastic strip that you have to place down before applying the mag pad isn’t reusable so it didn’t stick too long after running over a free potholes. So I’d suggest finding that perfect spot you want the first time because they only give you one plastic strip of padding that the mag pads go on top of before using this magnetic mount.

So for me I’m returning it the next time I’m near a best buy. For a phone like the z fold you really only can place the magnetic pads on the center and not the far bottom because it doesn’t stay in place due to its size and weight.

I’m writing this review for the itap2 magnetic cd slot mount. I like this thing, it is really cool. I initially thought that this thing couldn’t be any good and it couldn’t possibly be safe for my cd player in my car.

I was wrong. I thought it would be a flimsy junk that doesn’t hold your phone well and would break the cd player. It’s total opposite of everything I thought. It fits in place well. It doesn’t go all the way in the cd player ,just like slides right into the entrance of the cd player.

It locks in place ,is a nice tight fit. The magnetic mount holds my iphone 12 pro max with ease. It doesn’t want to fall off of the magnetic mount. I’ve tried many different phone mounts. I love this one because I didn’t have a place on my cars interior that could hold a phone mount without breaking my air vent, blocking my control panels or my screen for my stereo.

This one is great because it fits in the cd slot ,holds phone well and doesn’t block anything. The best part is if you want you just release the clip and take the mount out. It’s an incredible and cool product that I love ,enjoy and would recommend.

This phone mount works surprisingly well. I am using it in the air vent above the radio in front of my right hand when I’m at 10 and 2 on the wheel. I have not tried the flush mount as it requires adhering it to the dash with the included adhesive strip.

It holds my iPhone with a normal-sized case. It seems like it would fit most any phone, including the plus or max versions. The phone has never fallen out of the grips as they hold very strongly. The grip releases by squeezing the two levers on the side and they snap close when you press the phone into the mount.

The only issue I experienced is that the mount with phone does have some weight to it so it naturally drags my air vent downward. The vents in my car are easily moved up and down so the weight wants to essentially close the vent.

However, since the mount clips onto one of the slats on the vent, it prevents the vent from fully closing by sort of propping the slats open, so the air still flows through it, albeit pointed a little bit downward.

It did fall off the vent once or twice so I needed to tighten how strongly it grabs the vent slat. Since then, it hasn’t fallen off. As with any vent mount, it does mostly block the vent so if you’re the kind of person that likes the A/C or heat blasting directly in your face, this might not be the best choice for you, should consider mounting it on your left vent, or should consider mounting it to the dash.

But compared to my previous basic magnetic mount, this works great without any issues. The mount doesn’t block the phone charging port which is in the center bottom of my iPhone and it offers plenty of solid adjustments to get the tilt and direction of the phone exactly how you like it, in landscape or portrait mode.

All in all, this is a very good product.

I’ve been searching for a good phone mount for my Honda mini-van. Suction cup styled mounts would not be the best choice due to the massive windshield and the angle at which it is designed. I didn’t want to get an air vent mounted phone holder either because when it’s hot out, obstructed air flow is not an option.

However, upon seeing this model in a friend’s car, mounted in the CD player slot, which neither of us use much anymore, I knew I’d finally found the solution I was looking for! The holder for your phone is simple and well made – sideways arms adjust and have a tension between them to keep your phone extremely secure.

Bottom little arms keep it from slipping out. The charging port area is not obstructed so if you have to plug in to charge you’re in business. A nice additional feature, which I have yet to install, is a little magnetic stick on square that holds your plug for when you need it.

The plate that slides into your CD player slot is secure and works great. For me, the height of the mount makes the phone easy to see for when you’re using map apps. It’s not flimsy, it feels completely secure, and I’m so glad my friend recommended this.

If you’ve got an old CD player that you’re not using much anymore, this is a great repurposing of that space!.

Unfortunately, this iOttie mount was a complete waste of time and money. I purchased this in January. When I went to install it I realized that the instructions state that it should only be installed over certain temperatures.

I considered taking it back with plans to buy when it warms up but Best Buy’s new and terrible return policy (which I wasn’t aware had changed) mean that I was outside of the short 15 day window for returns.

Thus I kept the iOttie until it warmed up. fast forward to now, I pulled it out of the box for the first time to use on a road trip. Followed the instructions exactly and installed it on my dash. Put my phone on and was pleased by how it looked and functioned.

We began to drive and within 60 seconds the entire device fell off. Not just the phone (which would have been bad enough) but the entire stand. The suction cup couldn’t hold the device in place. Turned around and began the process of reinstalling the iOttie.

Once done I left the phone out of it and we began to drive. Even without the phone, the entire thing broke apart. I don’t know if mine was just faulty but I definitely wouldn’t recommend using it to protect your expensive phone.

Best Buy was zero help of course. I am going to contact the manufacturer and hopefully can get a resolution. I will update once I do.

I like this holder. It places my phone out of the way, for the most part. I am using this in my 2008 Infiniti G35. I don’t like how it places the phone in front of the air conditioner and heater control buttons, but I like the placement for easy viewing and using the phone.

I have to have it at a kind of weird angle for moving my car shifter into park, but it’s not terrible. This holds my iphone 6 plus easily and makes connecting to the headphone jack and charging jack easy.

I added some soft felt to the plastic tabs that slide into the cd slot to help soften the harshness to my cd slot. Plus the extra thickness of the felt helped to make it a little more stable. Overall, pretty good.

My neighbor at purchased this and loves hers. It exceeds my expectations. This fit perfectly in the CD feed of my 1999 Honda Civic. It takes a minute, if that, to install. The phone holder keeps my phone safe where as I had been using the sticky mount to dashboard one in the past.

They don’t hold when it is hot so not much use. I found this out the hard way when phone/holder went flying across the car. No chance of that with this value priced, great item. It remains tightly held by the tightening screw that comes with it.

It does cover my radio area but this is not an issue for me. Highly recommend this great product.

First off let me say this the concept is cool. However putting this into your CD slot and tightening it down so it stays secure is problematic. The pressure it puts on the CD deck can break your faceplate you can see It stressing and flexing whenever you go over a bump etc.

I have not had my faceplate break yet. But personally it is a poor designed phone holder. Also if you have any type of protective case this will not hold it securely. I have a unicorn beetle case for my S8+ this will not hold it, the arms are to short and so is the pull down arm that holds the bottom of the phone.

Without a case it works okay but the lower arm interferes with the plug in jacks on my phone and the microphone. Just not a good fit for my Kenwood deck or my phone.

A very sturdy and well made product for the money! It installed perfectly in one of my cars, however in another car it blocks the entire navigation screen and pushes in the hazard button when installed upright.

It also would not install correctly upside down and I tried every way possible to make it work. No hassle return but had to pay for the return shipping. I highly recommend, but keep in mind that it may not work for your specific.

The Koomus CD Cell Phone holder is in the perfect spot in my Lexus ES350! Although, I do have to use it upside down. I bought another one for a friend for her Honda Accord and it fits perfectly. A great option when you are going to be in the car for a long trip and want to use Google Maps or Waze.

Good construction as it does not rattle or fall out. I recommend this product.

I saw this holder in California when visiting one of my friends. I right away ordered it and when i returned it was waiting for me. It took seconds to install and is absolutely the best Car Phone holder.

I then took some co-workers to lunch and they saw it and they ordered it for themselves and their spouses. I ordered one for my wife as well. BEST PRODUCT.

Recently moving to a larger iPhone than I’d had for years forced me to change the way I mounted my phone in my car. I knew I didn’t want anything blocking an air vent, and I didn’t want anything that would require a specialized case or attachment to the phone.

But, when I saw the iOttie, I was VERY skeptical. I didn’t really get how the thing attached to the CD player, and I was pretty sure the the insanely cheap price meant “junk. ” Well, I was super wrong.

The thing is insanely great. It is way better designed, with way more features than I realized (pivots on a ball joint, snaps onto the phone with a hidden trigger, etc. ) In fact, before receiving the iOttie, we had also ordered a new car that doesn’t arrive for a while.

I had to go back and see if the new car also had a CD slot that would take the iOttie because I was gonna be bummed if I had to go to an inferior mounting system.

After using this gadget for about a week I can tell it is definitively worth the price (not like the cheap versions I had before that lasted 2 weeks or so…). The installation is pretty simple and besides the CD unit (that I almost never use…) it only blocks the volume knob (I use the volume buttons on the steering wheel anyway…) on my dash board when I have the phone attached to it.

The design is slim and convenient and even though I have to use both hands to detach it, it still very practical. What I like the most is that it does not vibrate significantly when driving which allows me to follow the GPS on my cell easily.

My only concern was that the little lips it uses to grab onto the CD unit could damage it, but I tested it after a week and found no problems. I have an Iphone 6 so the weight is not an issue. I would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend.

Overview: The Iottie car mount was very compact and easy to setup. The sides although slim held my S7 with a case properly without slipping It was easy to secure the mount to the CD tray with the snap in place option, so it was easy to secure and remove as needed by pressing or pulling the snap in piece.

vs screwing in the mount. Pros: -Easy to put together. -Easy to install to CD tray. -Secure with the clamps in the center of the phone. The mount moves a little once installed, but holds the phone as intended.

Cons: -If the car shifter is in the way and you need to move the phone to a higher position on the mount, it would feel more secure with a taller mounting surface on the side.

This phone holder is very nice. It is well made. It is a good buy. If I was thinking of buying one. Take a good look at where your CD is located. This holder works great.

I had high Hope’s. It broke soon as I put it in the cd slot. A weak point in it is where it attached to the tablet clip. If you tighten up the bracket for the cd slot the two screws that attach the bracket for the clip break.

After a fairly intensive week of researching aftermarket head units with Apple CarPlay and/or Android Auto, my wife and I decided that options which fit our needs well are much too cost prohibitive at this time.

We then opted for a more inexpensive but still practical solution to our “Georgia Hands Free Motoring Law” compliance needs. Again, about a week of fairly intensive research (Google, YouTube, etc. ) led us to this unit.

as a second choice. Our first choice was a slightly more complex and substantially more bulky gel/suction-cup style unit from another manufacturer which cost more than TWICE as much as this one. I chose to try this unit first, not only because it’s less expensive but also because my research led me to the conclusion that suction cups, no matter how well engineered, always eventually fail.

1. This unit installed easily and well in my wife’s very old car. In all honesty, I suspect that it worked so well because her factory CD head unit is made very much like aftermarket units of the era (2004).

It has a very slim slot opening which is only a few millimeters wider than a CD. I didn’t crank the tightening bolt down very much as I had read that it might be prone to breakage under too much torque.

I turned the bolt only as far as was necessary to keep the unit firmly inside the slot and eliminate extreme degrees of vertical play. At the point that I felt satisfied, there was still quite a bit of vertical play but, I suspected that the weight of our phones, an iPhone 8 Plus and an Essential PH 1, would probably counteract any bounce or movement under anything but the most extreme circumstances.

My assumption turned out to be correct, especially for the SUPER heavy, ceramic backed, Essential phone, which is the heavier device, but I’ll probably still install the foam tabs that came with the unit to further reduce vertical play.

The magnet is more than adequate. Ive tested the magnet for a few days on Georgia’s roads and even when passing over the rough, bumpy and often broken terrain of road construction sites, the magnet has never let go.

I don’t think I’ve even seen the phones shift position, since we installed this unit. I’m especially impressed that I can charge up our rough, uneven, damaged, driveway and this observation holds true even as the car is pitching, rolling and being tossed about in the dirt and gravel.

NOTE: The steel plates are very thin. I can’t claim to know anything about the physics of magnetism but they did not inspire my confidence so, though I’m not sure it made any real difference, I used both rectangular steel plates at once, sandwiching them between the rubber and composite layers of my phone case.

This worked well no matter what orientation, portrait or landscape. I couldn’t possibly say that this is a perfect solution and it definitely can’t work well for EVERY car but, in our experience, it’s simply elegant and well worth the small investment of time and money as a temporary solution.

I’d give the unit five stars if I had enough experience with it to be completely confident about it’s durability. How durable the device is and how long our satisfaction will last can only be revealed in more time.

EXCELLENT, so far! We’re hoping for the best. I will definitely order another one to install in our other car! UPDATE: I just received the second unit. perfect! It works EVEN BETTER in my car than in my wife’s.

My CD slot has an even more snug opening than my wife’s and, although there’s a HUGE control knob exactly where the tensioning screw needs to rest, this ended up working to my advantage. I had to pre-tension the unit and then finesse (force fit) it into the slot where the giant control knob that prevents me from adjusting the screw (see last photo) then becomes a support platform for the whole unit.

This is probably unique to specific Hondas and Acuras made between 2002 and 2009 though. Anyway, it seems, at the outset, that these units will serve as fairly good temporary solutions for us since we don’t really use our CD players anymore.

It remains to be seen how durable they are but so far, so good.

The box that the item came in fell apart quickly. It just seemed like there was not a sufficient glue product. All of the pieces were present and fit the product and work well on. I use this in my work vehicle and it’s a good spot for being able to glance at it at stop lights.

Unfortunately, I do have to remove the heavy duty case from my cell phone when I use this phone mount. However, that is the case with any phone mount I have found, not just this one. I like the idea of not having to put in it he Civ peace on the dash or anywhere in my car.

The only thing that worries me is that I’ve noticed when I insert the mount into the CD clear and start to turn the knob so that it expands to hold the mountain, the CD player seems to spread a little bit.

So I do not use this in my Camaro, which is not my work car , but I do use it in the Camry. This reason here is the only reason I give this product for stars. If that wasn’t something that happened I would give it five stars.

And, yes, it does it in the Toyota also but I don’t mind as much in that car because it’s not my muscle car. The phone holds very well on to the magnet, I have not had trouble with things coming loose and having to adjust the phone during the course of the Des.

And with my line of work I am in and out of the vehicle often and have to take my phone with me. So I mount and dismount the phone from the magnet multiple times a day without incident. I put one of the magnetic plates directly onto the back of my phone and it’s been fine.

There’s no glue seeping out or it slipping, nothing like that. I’ll be curious to see how this does in the Southern Arizona summertime when it gets to be 150000 degrees here. Which is why I do not use glue to mount anything inside my cars.

I have had this product for several months, at least, and I’m satisfied with the product.

Well designed and works perfect. I read a review that said it was cheap junk but I couldnt disagree more. It is very sturdy and made from a good quality plastic. The screw that clamps the device into the CD slot is made from metal.

It is so easy to install and uninstall. There is no need to over-tighten the screw (the instructions advise against doing so because it is pretty obvious that it would break if you did). There are adhesive pads provided with the device that can be used to thicken the tongues on the device if the CD slot in your car has a wider opening.

The cell phone is held a good distance away from the CD slot, which is good because it places it in easier reach and prevents the items on the dash behind the cell phone from being completely hidden and inaccessible.

I was concerned that the magnet might not be strong enough to hold the cell phone in place, especially as I have a car with very firm suspension, but it has never even moved. My phone is in an Otterbox with the metal plate between the inner shell and outer skin, so the magnet is plenty strong to magnetize through the case.

This device is the perfect solution to the problem I was having of trying to use Google maps while driving and is a brilliant way of making use of the CD slot which I never use because I play all my music through the AUX input.

The option of 2 ways to hold your phone is great. Used on an IPhone 8+. Comes with 2 magnets you stick on phone if you have a cover on it. The phone stays nicely on magnet, and will also fit in holder if I choose to use.

The part of the product that goes into CD slot is wide and holds securely in slot. I have had others that fell out over bumps.

This did the trick! I have a 2007 Jeep Sahara and this fit perfectly in the cd slot of sound system. I can easily see map app on my phone using this device.

After a couple of months it started falling out of my CD player slot had to tighten everything up constantly. I threw it in the trash .

First of all i will not sit here and lie to you guys. When i first opened it and realized that this mount had to be inserted into the CD slot from your car i was like what. I mean the vent ones are very wonky as well and have even damaged my vents in my car before.

My last one was a pro at falling down with the slightest bump and or tough. Back to this onw easy is defiantly the word. Not hard what so ever to insert to your CD slot. Now if you use your CD slot often then this wont be for you.

I know a lot of us don’t use them to much any more so i was okay with having this mounted in there. As i was saying so easy to insert and i loved how easy it was to use. My husband and I have different phones and different sizes and they both fit perfect with no problem.

This car phone mount was pretty simple to install and use. There are no special tools required,. Simple click in to the vent of your car like this air freshener clips and your done. Hold your phone in place with it slipping or adjusting.

This is a great gadget to have in your car. Its a must-have. Its a one size fits all. At first I was worried that itd be too bulky to use as the I was previously using a single mounted magnetic phone holder with just the round, circular piece attached to the dashboard.

This one is way better. The magnet is strong enough that when I plug in my phone it does not go flying like it did with the previous one I was using. Its a got a great mobility and range in motion. It can go up, down, sideways, upside down, you name it its got it.

This is so cheap for the value. No need to look elsewhere.

I bought this for my Infiniti Q40, but I find that it pops off every now and then. I dont want to tighten it for fear that itll break my DVD player. I do like how it sits though once I attach my phone and start to drive.

Unfortunately the Q40s shifter knocks the phone off once I put my car in park. But, good deal and happy with my purchase, just wish my car would cooperate. Good alternative if you cant use the vertical magnetic vent holder and dont want to tape a holder onto your dash.

I really like this mount, was pleasantly surprised that it’s metal molded in plastic. Pros: It will hold my iPhone 8 with an Otter box Defender case, even with hitting some hard bumps. So far it hasn’t fallen off yet.

Cons: The thumb screw would be better off replaced with a hex grub screw, as to get it tight it is hard to turn by hand in my 2012 F-150.

Smartest and most clever dashmount ever !! Had to knew this years ago! Just use the unused cd/dvd player slot. No suction cups or adhesive mounts ever more. Everyone is nowadays listening car music via USB or Bluetooth.

So I was looking for a car mount to hold a phone and big enough for a tablet. So I settled for this universal cd slot mount. Now, this is all plastic but I have never had any issues with satechi products.

Review of car phone holder I used the vent mount for my phone. I did struggle to connect the vent mount to the universal holder. It was a very tight fit, and I was afraid to break it. So I imagine it will be difficult to exchange it and put it in one of the other holders like the dash mount or CD slot mount if I wanted to.

The actual part that grips onto the vent is very tight on the vent which is okay. It seems like a secure hold for my phone. The universal holder part expands out to fit different sizes of phones. This part also holds my phone well.

This does not rotate easily from horizontal to vertical. In other words I would not try to do it while you were driving, but position it before you start your trip. This seems like a good quality plastic.

Overall four out of five stars. I received this item as part of a free promotion.

I am a truck driver and I have been using one of these for several years now and it has made my life so much simpler. I used to have the phone holders that would stick to the windshield and they were always falling off.

I also had the ones that mounted on the vents and all they did was succeed in tearing up my vents. When I saw this I knew I had to have it and I was not disappointed it works great. The only drawback to this product is that the plastic seems to be cheap and I find myself having to replace mine about every 6 months or so.

But for me it’s worth the expense. If Koomus starts building ones with better plastic then I will be more than willing to give this product five stars.

I don’t listen to CDs, so this comes in handing when there is limited space in the dash area. Suction mounts come undone in extreme temperatures, but the CD mount stays in place all of the time. I use an aux cord with Pandora Radio, so this is just perfect for having the charger and cords right there.

The magnet is strong enough to hold a tablet, and comes with all the hardware pieces. I attached mine upside down, so it is a little lower than the picture. I’ve been through vent mounts and windshield mounts and this seems to be the best for me, but have to get used to not viewing the stereo display, because this will block the view.

At least nothing is blocking the view of the road.

I’m not one to write reviews, but I had to for this. This is the best Mount I have ever come across and bought. I first saw this in a friends Jeep and knew right then I had to get one. Now suction cups to wet before putting on the window and falling off while you are driving.

Nothing to Mount to the dash or anyplace else where you need screws or sticky tape. You simply put it together when it arrives and place it in the CD holder. And if I want to go from car to car, I just pull it out and put in in the other.

I will be buying one more, because now my wife wants one in hers all the time. Oh, the price. It’s a great price for an item I would have even paid more for.

The design of the product fitting into the CD Slot is the best out there for CD Slot mounted models! It’s easy to use and install and is wide enough that it feels really secure. However, the pivot action for the magnetic holder is not nearly enough – certainly not 360.

It works and does turn a little bit for better angle viewing, but not enough to give you that great “cockpit” feel while driving. The Magnetic holder is strong and holds the phone well; and the set comes with 3 options for metal plates.

I really dig everything Satechi makes. Unfortunately this didn’t work very well with my 2010 Toyota Tacoma. Didn’t hold firmly enough to the CD slot, and was a bit squeaky and creaky when driving on bumpy roads.

The quality and finish fo the holder were excellent however, and if it worked for my truck I’d be keeping it.

I put this holder in the CD slot on my 2005 Cadillac CTS. Did not use any of the spacer. It was a tight fit. After putting it in the CD slot we could not get it out. In trying to get it out the locking handle broke.

Be very careful with this product. If it feels like it will be a really tight fit I would not insert it into the CD slot. It’s a great idea that appears to not work in all CD slots.
