I love this mixer. The creative possibilities are endless. It has independent pad modes which is a huge upgrade from the S9. The screen looks amazing & is simple to use. Smooth Echo is an ingenious feature that every dj will find use out of.

The Magvel Pro on it is butter smooth for scratching also. Pioneer really outdid themselves with the S11. It’s worth every penny and should be a staple in any battle dj, turntablist, or mix Dj’s setup.

If you are looking to upgrade and you don’t need the bells & whistles of the S11, then this mixer is for you. The Layout is simular to the S9 so if you are coming from that mixer, the feel will be the same.

The sound quailty is notably better than the S9 which for those who still spin using both Digital & Vinyl will love. The added bluethooth function is also an added plus. The only downside is the removal of the smooth echo for the mic and sampler.

If thats a deal breaker then the S11 may be a better opition. Overall its a great mixer for the price range.

I have never been happier with an audio component! Never a twinge of buyer’s remorse. The sound is rich and crisp, thanks to a high end DAC and precision transport system. The controls are intuitive with great positive feel.

Possibly the nicest remote control ever made. I see a few reviews around the net, concerning occasional skipping issues. Some owners write lengthy diatribes on complex and expensive isolation techniques.

Ignore the fools! Stack your heavy receiver on top of your CD player, JUST LIKE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO!! Place both on a heavy stable credenza, sideboard, vintage audio rack, Mission Oak table, etc. You will enjoy a skip free CD player and audio quality equal to an $800-$1000 component.

The Onkyo features a deluxe display, digital out(for DAC equipped receivers), headphone jack with volume knob, and selectable repeat function. Its sister, Pioneer badged, CD player lacks those deluxe features, and only offers analog out.

Pray that Onkyo makes more of these impeccable and affordable CD players. In the meantime, snap up the Pioneer PD10AE before they are all gone. Identical quality without some bells and whistles.

I honestly didn’t think a stand-alone CD player would sound much better than a DVD or Blu-Ray player. I bought this player on a whim and I must say that I am pleasantly surprised. With this Onkyo unit at least, the dynamic range is better, the imaging is fantastic and there is a more 3-dimensional soundstage.

The specialized transport and careful isolation of the signal path would account for small bit of that but it’s the DAC (in this case a Wolfson) that I believe is responsible for much of the improvement.

It has certainly renewed my interest in listening to my CD’s, so much so that I have been buying new ones and only using my iPod for casual listening. Taking this one step further. I fail to understand all of the hoo-ha over the re-emergence of vinyl.

I have several hundred vinyl LP’s and I can not think of any circumstance where an LP could or does sound any better than it’s CD twin. I fully understand the limitations of CD’s as a digital music medium, namely the effect of the sampling frequency on the very highest frequencies.

However, in virtually every aspect, CD’s should sound superior and in real-life they do (IMHO). Music on LP’s is compressed (resulting in low dynamic range), frequency response is limited, cross-talk between the left and right channels is evident (they are mechanically connected) and the medium is flawed – a plastic disc that attracts dust.

I guess what I am suggesting is that if you really want to enjoy the best music listening experience, a good CD player (like this one), connected to some components of similar quality, will result in excellent sound quality without breaking the bank.

As far as this Onkyo unit goes, there is no need to pay any more for a CD player – this one is just fine.

Having researched the product online and deciding which unit to buy, I just happened to be passing a Richer Sounds shop so popped in to complete my research. The saleman was very helpful and confirmed my choice so I opted to buy straight away.

That the price was even better than I had already discovered was an added bonus. The unit was delivered to my home at no extra cost and at the time and date expected. Now that I have set up and used the CD player I am very pleased with the result.

The sound quality is much richer than the 25 year old Sony unit it replaced: the high notes are much brighter and the lower notes more rounded. Obviously technology has moved on but I was not expecting to hear such a big difference.

On a personal note I would prefer more contol at the front panel rather than only on the remote handset but it’s a small issue I will get used to. Highly recommended.

I just got this thing home and man I’ll tell you Rane hit it out of the park with this MKII revision. I like other DJ’s purchased the first Rane Twelve and was upset that they kept updating the unit with recessed ports, and record latches during the production process over time.

This left us early adopters really wanting those features as I use these in standard mode, not battle. Having the ports recessed was crucial for my setup. Anyway, how does it perform? Absolutely awesome! The feel of the turntable and torque settings remain the same but to have the abilitly to play timecode through the RCA’s is quite a game changer.

MIDI control doesn’t give that natural effect. Nobody would ever notice but if you listen closely to the scratch sounds they do sound a bit robotic. This has greatly improved with this unit but its till there if you listen super SUPER closely.

But not to fear if you hook up RCA and plug in like a regular turntable BOOM sounds just like your 1200’s 10000%. I love my 1200’s but with the M-47 needles end of life and the radio problems with the Phase DJ system getting this is really a no brainer.

Eventually getting parts for the 1200 are going to get more difficult. Sad as I know a lot of DJ’s like myself still use them to this day. The Rane Twelve is your answer, and with the RCA option it will never go obsolete.

The DDJ 400 paired with Rekordbox DJ (the full version) is an excellent choice for beginners or old schoolers looking for a rehearsal deck. At a little over $300 including the 2-year, Sam Ash replacement warranty, you will get a lot out of this small format controller.

The surface itself is quality for the money. That’s important to note. This is not a DDJ-1000, XDJ, or DDJ-800 replacement. It does not have big control platters with great jog wheel parameters, the buttons are a little rubbery, the mixer is tiny, the FX selection is a little strange (onscreen only) there are no aux ins, and only one unbalanced stereo output (RCA).

For active DJs, it’s a good utility extension for Rekordbox DJ (a key is included with the purchase) BUT for beginners this is a great choice. This surface utilizes the Rekordbox DJ software and will help you set-up your sampler, Pad FX, track lay-outs, multiple cue points, FX, and so on.

If you buy this and really get into spinning, upgrade to a DDJ-1000 using Rekordbox and you’ll already have your libraries and soft keys laid out. It’s like learning to drive a 4-cyclinder before stepping up to a V8.

The fundamentals are all there plus hints of where you’ll go next. If you’re only a hobbyist doing a podcast or track to track, press and play, this will be an easy controller to use. Once again, dig into Rekordbox DJ and set up your Pad FX, loops, samples, and so on.

It’s always a fun process and will help you get familiar with the controller and software. Plus, maybe DJ a pool party, BBQ, or a friends party and the DDJ-400 will be fine for your needs. You may never need to upgrade if mixing is a casual thing.

Get the Sam Ash 2 year replacement warranty. Since this is an extremely lightweight controller, it could be dropped or fall off a sub. The extra $50 will give you a new one. Repairing these isn’t recommended.

I bought this as my previous Denon MC3000 was getting on a bit. This controller powers off your laptop so no need for additional plugs, works great off VDJ and when bought, all the drivers are ready installed for this controller.

Simple to use and good for both function and club work. My only criticism is the mic volume function. It is at the back of the controller near the audio inputs. I think this should be moved on the next design to avoid you fiddling near your audio inputs.

Other than that, great buy ant good value. 9/10.

The DJM-V10 is an amazing mixer with tons of advanced DJ features. We are using this with Pioneer DJ CDJ-3000 media players for our DJ business and YouTube channel. The audio quality is crystal clear.

With 6 channels, we have plenty of capacity to expand to 4 media players and add additional functions in the future such as the DJS-1000 sampler. This mixer has many new features including the 3-band isolator, expanding from 3 to 4 EQ bands per channel, and separate filters for FX, send FX, touchscreen, and lots of Beat FX options.

We also are considering purchasing a Denon DJ X1850 for our rental fleet, because although the DJM-V10 looks super durable (heavy & made of metal), this is a sizeable investment to put into rentals. One cool feature that Denon has which is missing from the Pioneer DJM-V10 are 5 Link ports, so you don’t have to bring an external Ethernet switch with their set up.

Our suggestion for Pioneer’s next gen mixer is to make it a central hub for Links (add an Ethernet switch) & USB (add a hub) as it is already a central hub for audio.

Needed a mixer for the home, but didnt need all of the DJM900nxs2 features, why pay for something you do need. The 750mk2 sounds great, takes up less table space and for just quick gigs is much lighter then the 900nxs2.

And for home use the USB out is great for recording your sets. (avoid the Pioneer Rec app, use something like Evermix). Only thing I miss is the Phaser effect, but I could just do doubles and make this effect manually.

I dont use it, but for some the bonus of having DVS right out of the box built in is a major plus.

This set of decks are truly amazing, they are designed and made very well and they look really professional. The lighting on them when they are turned on are remarkable. This was a gift for my son who has really taken to DJ’ing and he could not believe it when he took it out the box, they are so impressive that I am trying to learn how to use them too.

My son and I are particularly impressed with the screen within the turn table which allows you to see the bpm and a logo of the track. Pioneer just get better and better, my son said that he has no reason to look for an upgrade and will enjoy this for years to come.

Service – This has been the first time I have used Djkit and I must say the service was awesome and I would happily recommend with 5 stars. The communication on availability was great and the delivery was next day when it arrived in the UK.

I’ve had the controller for little bit over a month now, so I had time to adjust to it. At first it felt overwhelming with all of the buttons and Rekordbox software but after some time and tutorials, you can adjust.

As soon as you adjust you can start mixing things up with the effects sections and 16 pads for more creativity. A major selling point for me was 4 channels and basically having the full size CDJ jog wheels.

The unit itself has a plastic build but it feels very well built and can easily tell that it will last for years to come. The Rekordbox software has a lot of information on the screen, I do wish they added a simplified skin or set up for beginners.

If your in the market for a controller with no budget, I would recommend this controller to get the most out of all features available for the price point. With Denon Dj stepping up there game, I can see that Pioneer DJ will as well within the next couple years.

This is an absolutely fantastic controller – it’s effectively a DJM750mk2 mixer (which costs the same price as this controller on its own!) attached to a pair of full sized CDJ2000-style platters with all the usual controller goodies such as a set of assignable pads – these can be used for hot cues so there are no missing features that I can see from the standalone players.

The mixer and FX can be used completely standalone and has 4 channels which are completely assignable to external inputs with no laptop connected if you so wish. It’s even compatible with DVS if you connect turntables but will require an additional purchase of Rekordbox control vinyl and a license (£99 at time of writing).

One of the new features on this controller is the displays in the middle of the platter, replacing the traditional CDJ platter ring indicator, this shows the waveform, cue points, BPM and other information.

This means the only time the DJ needs to look at the laptop screen is for selecting a track (which can be done via the CDJ-style track selection controls), which avoids tempation to stare at a laptop which is not a good habit to develop for anyone wishing to DJ out in public.

There are obviously a few compromises to be made, some controls are missing (notably the parameter setting on the color FX section, and no “time” pot on the FX channel), but really there are very few compromises, and I prefer the assignable pad-based setup to the hot cue buttons on the standalone CDJs.

As is typical with a controller, some settings have been moved from physical buttons (e. g. vinyl brake/start parameters and crossfader), which is not an issue but requires a bit of forethought. Overall though, this is extremely close to the club standard setup (CDJ2000nx2/DJM900nxs) for a fraction of the price.

As always with Pioneer kit, build a and sound quality is top notch. The Rekordbox software has come a great distance since launch and it’s been 100% stable in my use with no crashes or drop outs. I highly recommend this controller for anyone looking to get used to the “club standard” setup without breaking the bank.

At a touch over £1000, its still pricey, but when you compare to other similar Pioneer products (XDJ-RX2 is 50% more and only 2 channels, admittedly it’s a standalone unit not a controller but who doesn’t own a laptop these days?).

So I come from a background using Traktor and Serato as DJ Software, I prefer Traktor overall but as I’m tired of lugging gear around 😀 I’ve wanted to go to a standalone for a while now. First up the djkit pump: I had my eyes on a Prime 4 when it was first released but it’s out of my budget so I waited and when the prime 2 came out, it was still a bit pricey, then the GO and Numark Mixstream came out and I got happy, I ordered a Mixstream Pro and while it was out of stock I was happy to wait for it to come back in, While I was waiting the ‘price drop’ to 999 came in.

a stretch but I called and asked if they’d allow me to up my purchase and swap to a Prime 2 and DJ Kit graciously allowed me to do that and then sent it next day delivery. I purchased my MC6000Mk2 from DJ Kit about 7 years ago so it was about time to upgrade and so far, it’s such a nice piece of kit, everything just works smoothly, the jog wheels are amazing, the sound quality is great, it feels like it could take a tank shell.

Now the small ‘bad’ is the Engine DJ software has taken a week or two to get used to, but I have an SSD with my main collection in the Prime 2 and I just connect and manage that through the engine software on my PC, now I’m used to it, it’s pretty easy to manage.

Before I was using my library on my PC and just getting confused with moving it across to my drive in the Prime, which already HAD the collection on it (It was a backup drive) it was just confusing so I just added the backup drive (now in the prime 2) as the main collection and that’s sorted the issue as they are mirrors anyway.

Tidal integration works perfectly, so I use my phone as a hotspot and it can take a few seconds to analyse a track but once it’s in, it’s in and it gets added to your hard drive so you can use it even if offline.

I presume only if you have a Tidal account. Overall I’m very pleased with my upgrade and it’s going to get plenty of use over the next few weeks. Thanks DJ Kit and Thanks Denon. 5 Stars for the prime 2, 4 stars for Engine DJ as it STILL needs a little work.

Well you don’t need me to tell you why this controller is amazing. You are thinking about buying it after all. It spanks PioneerDJ into the last century, where their kit belongs. I will drop a few points though.

This thing is built like a tank. It is metal throughout and feels luxurious in the same way that a luxury car does. Mint. The pots and faders are absolutely lush. You may not like the decks themselves, they are smaller than high-end PioneerDJ gear.

But honestly, it did not take me long to get the hang of them at all, and they feel fantastic. I’ve been using Tidal to stream, and you would never know it is downloading in real-time. Fast and faultless for mixing.

If you care about Virtual DJ, the integration is fantastic, with everything you need to know on the huge screen in real-time also. Serato is also perfect, but I have not used it quite as much. Coming from Pioneer, the sheer amount of features and forward thinking in this thing is quite something.

This along with the fact that DenonDJ keep updating the Prime4 with new stuff just makes this a no-brainer for anyone who can afford it. You will not be disappointed!.

I purchased one of these units in Late 2019. Throughout the pandemic there was a large gap in venues that could be performed in so I only had the opportunity to put the unit through its paces a few times during live sets.

Once restrictions were lifted and venues opened up I was able to book myself a couple of gigs and develop a steady income stream again. On the FIRST EVENT I was performing at and over eager member of the crowd rushed their way past security and managed to douse the unit with a full Margarita, killing the equipment and ending the performance early.

Upon taking it to an authorized Pioneer Repair center in NYC I learned that the board that needed to be placed, a DWX4624 “Child Assembly” control board is no longer supported and is not in production and no stock is available NATIONWIDE!! Stay away if you are risk averse and are worried about damage to your unit.

This unit, although precise and immaculate, renders the lowest review score possible because the Manufacturer failed to support the unit less than 3 years after inception. Shame on Pioneer.

Digitaldjtips does a great review on this ddj controller on YouTube. But here is my 2p. This is a high quality controller. I upgraded from the ddj-sb3 and so needed a serato ddj. The ddj1000-srt fit the bill.

The good. Overall great layout Much bigger tempo sliders for easier tempo matching Great feeling controls Even better fx Super responsive platters The not so good The 4 beat loop. it should either be a 16 beat loop, or the two buttons to the left should extend and reduce the loop rather than having to press shift as well.

Phil Morse covers this in more detail. That said. Using the controller is a joy overall and I would recommend it for someone looking to step up from the sb3.

I had to switch to this after my previous controller broke down (DDJ-SR2). If I was to compare this to the SR2 Id say its a downgrade on certain aspects like the jog wheels dont light up and theres no sampler pads and rekordbox proved to be more complicated than Serato which Im used to.

There are good points however, there is a screen on the controller which can load and select tracks to the relevant deck. It is a CDJ which is nice and you can plug a usb 2. 0 into it directly and play, however the usb 3.

0 types have to be formatted for them to work, which in itself is annoying. Id recommend this if Rekordbox and CDJs are what you are used to.

Snagged this for some quick at home set ups as well as an optional backup price for gigs where I may need. I loved this thing it’s small and portable yet Gave me the pioneer feel I expect. I really enjoy the fact that it’s a stand alone and that I could use not one but two usbs if I wanted which I never do but the extra slot came in handy for recording my mixes which was super easy and sounded 100.

I gave 4 stars because I kinda hated the effects on this device which are a bit more entry level sounding but that could be a small thing for others. It also reset on me twice while recording a mix but I haven’t yet found that issue.

I’ve now upgraded to the RX2 just for better effects and a more professional feel. It’s very price friendly and if you can’t afford a top line controller or cdjs this is THE BEST way to go.

Big upgrade from my old traktor controller setup. Great to be able to DJ in fully stand alone mode from usb without needing to connect a computer. Less FX options and remix options than my old traktor setup but it’s much more streamlined to what you actually use for DJ sets so I consider this a positive.

Hardware feel on the controller is sturdy and substantial, not plastic midi controller feel. Display is great. Rekordbox software is straightforward and easy to use. Very pleased all around.

I’ve been a bedroom dj for over 20 years making sets for my own listening from Progressive House / Underground Tech / Techno. I’ve had vinyl decks, cheap cdj’s, expensive cdj’s and now a long awaited upgrade from my CDJ-400’s to the XDJ-700’s.

These do everything I could ever need on a deck, and pair up nicely with my DJM-800. The recessed pitch fader is tight and accurate and bpm with decimal place makes long transitions nice and tight. Planning a set with Rekordbox saving markers and auto loops is a lifesaver, and it’s easy to call them up on the unit.

The units themselves are fantastic and they’re a joy to use. The touchscreen is nice and clear and responsive. The jog wheels although smaller than the daddy’s feel nicely weighted for pitching; I can’t comment for scratching.

They’re the usual expected Pioneer quality even though they’re predominantly plastic and have a smaller footprint than the top end models. Ideal for the bedroom, but if looked after they’ll travel well.

I wish I bought them sooner!.

The touchscreen offers detailed library information and robust search capabilities. Compared to the similarly priced 850s which I’ve used extensively, these decks are better on many levels. The main drawback for me compared to the 850s is that the functionality such and reverse and cue selection are accessed through the touchscreen menu resulting in a less tactile experience.

The jog wheel is also smaller and less informative compared to 850s. These drawbacks are minor for me however as I don’t do much scratching. The compact form factor plus the added functionality the touchscreen provides has made me extremely happy with this purchase.

I wanted to buy a CD player that not only suited my pocket but also matched the quality of another CD Player that cost £1000, 10 years ago and now with age started to develop an annoying fault (sound dropping out entirely!).

Well all I can say is this DENON DCD800NE a, matches that CD player from 10 years ago if not better! I have to say I cannot fault it. The robust build is amazing, the power on button is an old fashioned push button, which I think is just great.

The black finish quality and look of the unit is very classy indeed, a very pro looking unit. The functionality of the other buttons are designed in a very similar way (solid). The response the buttons have, for example when you want to open the disc tray is designed in such away that it does this with ease and confidence.

Because of this it makes you feel very confident in the unit too, its operation is great. This is a smooth operating disc tray and this encourages me to write this review and ultimately give high praise indeed to this product.

The tray closes with care and is very smoothe, you are happy to place your cared for CD’s into this player. After purchasing a CD player at £200 I decided I didn’t like it for an annoying manufacturing issue (it put a built in pause of a second between tracks and this was annoying when listening to an orchestral piece that may have had track separation but was mean’t to play continuous, also the tray was very flimsy compared to the DENON!), so I took it back to Richer Sounds and they were very helpful in allowing me to upgrade to this magnificent DENON unit.

The CD sound quality itself is rich and detailed with alot of warmth, this is certainly the first impression I have been given by listening to it and it was this quality that was also recommended to me and they weren’t wrong.

As I write this I am listening to some of my favourite tracks of music and the detail is amazing, I am actually hearing the orchestra and detail of the playing and instrumentation that I really don’t think I have heard before! Some CD players so I am told tend to be on the harsh side of sound emphasizing the treble, whilst that is needed you also need warmth of sound ,richness and detail, this DENON player offers all these qualities.

If like me you listen to orchestral music then this is the player for you. The detail and richness of sound offered here entirely matches my much more expensive unit I bought all those years ago. I hope this review is helpful to customers, I am basing my judgement of this product on what I hear.

Having bought a Denon some years ago at your Middlesbrough branch and found the equipment first class, I decided to buy another Denon with blue tooth and the ability to use the speaker from room to room.

The discussions with your sales representative (Arron) was quick and to the point. He clearly had the knowledge to recommend a configuration which met my requirements. The equipment has not disappointed and would buy in future from Richer Sounds any additions to the equipment.

Finally, the 6 year guarantee issued with the equipment is a bonus.

PROS: Aside from the welcomed changes like the refinements to the FX sections (and greatly improved resonance on the filter!), the magvel fader is like butter to use. The per channel illuminated indicators for the Beat FX are a welcomed addition as well.

The star of the show, however, is the Send/Return USB functionality. Now, you can easily implement all those instrument/groove/beatbox apps you’ve been itching to try directly into the mixer via flawless digital audio.

I’ve only begun to scratch the service so I can’t comment on whether or not sync/beatgrid capabilities are in place yet, but having option to integrate another musical device (and so easily) is absolutely stellar.

So long as the app you’re using has inter-app/audio bus capability, you’re good to go. The overall sound quality of the FX have greatly improved, the sound much less metallic and are much more cohesive when used with the audio piped into the mixer.

And yes, the overall output quality is improved, to what degree is debatable. CONS: The biggest con is the removal of the Stereo/Mono switch. You can still set the mixer, but it has to be done so through a menu versus physical switch.

Pioneer also removed the fader-start functions, but I never used them in the first place. The unit itself is about 8–10mm longer, so if you have a case with no wiggle room or a Decksaver, it’s time to search for new options.

Industry standard mixer. I personally prefer the cue points on this mixer rather than the pads on others. Beware though, The CDJs and DJM do NOT give you a license currently for rekordbox or any other Dj software.

This small (but obviously large) detail held me up for hours. Along with updating them to the current firmware with a USB. Use Pinoeer’s website to do that (and yes, you have to do it regardless of having a Mac or not).

Ok. I have yet to really put this mixer to the test. The first one that I ordered arrived as schedule. Actually a day or 2 earlier than expected. I hook everything up and my only complain is that is was a defective unit and the connectivity of the unit was messed up.

Long story short. I contacted DJTT and they were great wth exchanging the unit rather quickly. The new just arrived today. Again a day earlier than expected. So far it is fine. Will put it to a longer better test soon.

But everything worked overall. It went straight into my flight case and I swapped out the caps. It did not come with a full set so I ordered extra and the mixer is looking pretty sweet. Next is to get some 12inchskinz for it and my new turntables soon.

I bought this mixer when it was on sale to try Traktor and give me a backup to my my trusty 57SL. This is now my 2nd Z2 purchase. The first one is working great but, I rather not keep disconnecting my home setup.

I bought it to try Traktor and over time Traktor Z2 has won me over. The post fader effects add a new dimension to my DJ’ing letting me apply effects without having to look at laptop all the time. Looping is easy since it displays the loop size on the mixer itself.

Beat skipping let’s me shorten songs while I am playing them to get to the best parts or bring the best parts back. The cue pads are the best of any mixer and more convenient then touching my keyboard.

The soundcard sounds worlds better on big systems then my old 1st Gen serato mixer but about the same as my SL4. If you have a Serato interface you can use this mixer as MIDI trigger for cue points, effects.

Honestly if it’s on sale and you need a mixer I don’t think you can go wrong.

This is my first mixer, but it’s definitely lived up to my expectations as a great starting point for a Traktor-based setup. The faders, nobs, and overall construction are solid and excellent. The chroma caps that come with the kit definitely help make things have a nicer feel than stock, which really rounds out the whole package and tips the scale for buying from DJTT as opposed to anywhere else.

Performance is great and response is quick, which is really nice. There’s lot of potential in using this mixer with Traktor, and I’m definitely excited to start playing around with all of the extended features as I learn more about how to leverage program’s more advanced controls — having manual bridges directly to those features/functions is a GREAT plus.

Yes, the faceplate does wear if you’re doing the scratch thing, it’s a fairly common response, but NI seems to be good with replacing faceplates as needed. Glad I purchased this setup, even as things have evolved since it first came out, and really happy I got it from this shop.
