I had this phone for less than 2 months, then replaced it with a Motorola model. Things I disliked about the phone:1- the interface is not standard Android. A Huawei phone I had 3 years ago had better features and ease of use2- it installs a bogus “Free” application to the left of the 1st home screen that has Samsungs streaming entertainment channels — whether you ask for it or not! And whenever you page too far to the left of your home screen, it actually runs the app, whether you wanted to or not.

So you have to go into the active app list and kill it. And guess what — its impossible to find the feature and delete it3- the screen is too dim to see it in daylight when using the camera. I could not use the camera outside on a sunny day4- It has a “Samsung” series of apps that are together a huge memory hog, just bloatware, with no way to turn off or move to the SD card.

They are largely redundant with Google apps. Kinda dumb for a phone with 32 gig of internal memory. I was being told constantly by the phone I was running out of memory and to delete some apps, but on the new Moto phone, I have 40% free memory <>5- The phone is too wide to fit in my (standard size) carpenter’s pocket on the thigh of my trousers.

It won’t reliably go in the pocket. In fact, when getting ready to kneel, the phone fell out from my pocket about 24 inches onto a hard floor, causing the screen to shatter into several hundred pieces, <> (it was fully protected from doing so by the lip of the phone case).

First damaged screen I have ever had in 16 years of smartphone use. Now for the best part — after I saw the phone was trashed, I was gleeful !! I called my cell provider that night and ordered a new phone6- the home wallpaper is rendered at significantly lower resolution than the screen.

Also, the wallpaper does not “page” with navigating the home screens, as all my phones have done for the last 4 years, including the new Moto. 7. The fingerprint sensor integrated with the on/off power button on the side only has about 1/4 of the area of a standard on-the-phone-back sensor.

I would estimate its success rate in getting a print to be accepted was about 30%8- All this and it was $40 more expensive than the Moto Pure G I replaced it with !!All I can figure is that Samsung added all these endearing features to make sure it would not compete with their much pricier flagship Galaxy models.

Run, don’t walk, away from this engineering nightmare.

Its good value and good battery life. My 2 concerns are well known to a12 owner. The wi-fi drops out and the screen sways between too sensitive and not sensitive enough, which might sound odd unless you have the slightest tremour or shakey hand.

Its the difference between actuating an on screen button or slightly moving the display. If the display moves even half a millimetre then the button you wanted to press – isnt pressed. This can be frustrating if youre an old git like me.

But at times I know the display didnt move at all, the touch simply didnt register. Ive had this with other Samsung screens in the past 5 years, before my hand tremour was a thing. Years ago it wasnt a problem, but their screens seem to have gotten worse instead of better.

Ive got a spare eight year old Samsung Galaxy, which does not have this problem. Otherwise its all good, good sound, but as said wi-fi drops out, if you look online, its a common problem with the A12, and can be embarrassing at best and very inconvenient, or costly at worst.

This phone is the worst I’ve had in a long while. The internal storage space (32GB) is abysmal. Even if you buy a MicroSD card to expand your storage- not all apps can be transferred to external storage.

To make matters worse, this thing is also incredibly frustrating to use every day. It lags on everything- even trying to make a phone call, trying to bring up the keypad can take 3-5 seconds. Even trying to look at certain settings deep in the settings menu sometimes will simply cause the settings app to stop working.

If you want to multitask while texting, talking on the phone, or even using an app- be prepared to pull your hair out while your phone struggles attempting to do so. Be happy if it doesn’t just crash the app in the process.

I’ve gotten notifications that the system UI has “stopped working” way too many times for it to be a fluke, not to mention certain settings menus, etc. This is just not a very well designed phone. Every time you want to do anything on this phone, be prepared to count to at least 5 and sometimes even upwards of 10 before your phone reacts to your input.

Avoid this phone if you can.

I’m writing this review after using pixel 4a for over 3 months, please read till the end to get genuine and detailed insights about the product. When it comes to the mid range segment, choosing any product is an extremely laborious task because we neither want to compromise on the features nor exceed our budget.

I’ve had sleepless nights my self trying to figure out which phone should I go for in this price segment and I hope this review makes it easier for those of you struggling to make up your minds. Google pixel 4a doesn’t sell like hot cakes in the Indian smartphone market, this was a big reason why I kept reconsidering it.

After all why aren’t many people buying this gorgeous little work of art? Pixel 4a has an overtly minimalist approach with no fancy hardware features to flaunt, it has a very modest processor (Snapdragon 730G) and a smaller screen compared to its counterparts like Mi 11X/Nord 2 CE/Realme X7 which makes it a seemingly less profitable deal.

But what people fail to see is that pixel 4a is a pristine smartphone, with its matte black case, fluid stock android OS and bug free experience. Its 12 mp camera easily surpasses many triple/quad cam setups in the market, when it comes to camera, pixel 4a is a true asset.

The two major concerns that i had regarding this phone were, processor and battery. I was getting Snapdragon 870 at the same price with a 4500 mAH battery for the same price. After watching a bunch of videos and reading reading reviews I realised that if I’m not a gamer, then I don’t really need a phone that powerful and fast because the fluid and seamless OS experience easily offsets the shortcomings of the processor.

I haven’t faced any major software glitches or had trouble because the phone hanged, it has been functioning perfectly smoothly. Let’s talk about certain downsides now. The battery isn’t a prize, a 3140 mAH battery is clearly not sufficient.

I knew this and yet decided to take a chance. In the beginning I was extremely disappointed because the battery drained like sand but over time the adaptive battery feature played its role and it’s comparatively stable now.

Yet it’s not as good as some other phones in the market although charges with the speed of light. To sum it up, if you’re looking for OG android experience, this would make a great choice. I’d recommend to wait for sale to get a better deal.

First of all, this is a great phone. I got the non 5G version, so it was the lower spec’d one. Camera, is great. 12. 2 megapixels is enough to record 4K video. What’s impressive though is not the hardware, this is just an average camera for a smartphone.

In fact, it’s been a couple years since it would have given any serious competition to phones like an s series Samsung Galaxy or an iphone, but those are top of the line phones. As far as mid-range goes, this is the best of the best.

As I was saying, it’s not the hardware that makes this phone great necessarily, but it’s the software. Google’s “computational photography” software is amazing. It processes every image to reduce noise and increase clarity, and using special photography modes like astrophotography, the results can be simply astonishing.

You would never have guessed that it came off a $350 phone. Now, it can be upgraded to Android 12, and although the software features were great before, now they’re even better. In my opinion, this is the best operating system you could possibly get on a phone, and then it’s best possible form.

Being a phone by Google, it offers a more seamless and pure Android experience then any of the competitors.

I got this to replace my smashed up pixel 2. I thought going from a 3 year-old phone to a new budget option wouldn’t be a huge difference, but I was wrong. The processing speed is slower and laggy and I don’t even run many apps or game or do anything that really requires fast processing speeds.

The camera isn’t as great as it’s hyped up to be, and I got better photos with the pixel 2. Every photo I take is improperly exposed and/or improperly auto-focused, which is frustrating because the pixel 2 took better photos than any other phone camera for it’s time.

It seems like a downgrade. No matter what I do, my camera will not register QR codes. And yes, google lense is on. I’ve experienced numerous other glitchy things with this phone that makes the overall user experience frustrating and disappointing.

The only positive is the battery life. A charge will last me 1. 5 days. Overall I’d say spend the extra money on a flagship phone.

I’ve been very pleased with my previous LG phones, and the V60 did not disappoint. The phone is very fast, the screen is very large and the 5,000 mAh battery lasts three days with light usage. It came with Android 11 pre-installed, and LG has indicated that it will eventually receive Android 12 – but has not released a timeframe yet.

I was a little nervous about buying an “open box” model, but as far as I can tell it was never actually used previously – the protective film was still over the camera. The bare phone itself is very slippery, but I bought a thin Spigen case to protect the phone and make it easier to grip.

The stereo speakers are perfectly adequate, and I don’t have any complaints about the camera. I also purchased an Anker wireless fast charger, which works perfectly with the phone and case. The phone supports dual-mode 5G standalone and non-standalone, and walking outside the T-Mobile store I was able to get 300+ Mbps download speeds.

(It’s typically around 100 Mbps inside, although I’m on wifi inside the house. ) I was vacillating between buying a brand-new Motorola 5G Ace from T-Mobile for $260, or the LG V60 on eBay for $300. I almost went with the Motorolla (knowing its downsides) since it also has a 5000 mAh battery, until I found out that it only supports Non-Standalone 5G.

That was the clincher that made me bet on the V60 – which turned out to be the right decision. I’m looking forward to getting several years of service from this phone, and I consider $300 for a new flagship phone a very good deal! I’m sorry that LG has exited the phone business, but at least their last phone is one of the best!.

I bought the LG V60 (AT&T ver. ) on April 5, 2021 when LG officially announced its decision to withdraw from the smartphone market. My previous phone was the LG V30 (unlocked) and had already decided to upgrade to another LG phone.

The LG V60 (model LMV600AMAATTCB) is an excellent phone for my purposes but compared to others, it is lacking in some departments. Let’s start off with the pros: With the continuing lost of the 3. 5mm headphone jack, it is refreshing to see LG commit to its headphone jack + 32-bit Quad DAC setup which enhances the audio coming from the music player and from videos and is my main niche reason of why I chose the V60 over other phones.

The battery life is excellent with its 5000mAh that can be wirelessly charged or quick charged with the proper equipment. The external buttons for the volume and power have a satisfying click and the overall build quality of the phone is great as well.

The large screen is also great for videos and the overall performance of the V60 is smooth and snappy. The V60 is also capable of WiFi 6 and 5G mobile data speeds with a SD card slot for expandable memory.

The now-standard USB-C should still be mentioned due to its universal compatibility among newer Android phones and other electronic equipment. It is IP68 rated and is compliant with MIL-STD-810G which should not surprise anyone who previously owned a LG smartphone.

Software updates are provided by the cell carrier that you are using which can be seen as a benefit given my lack of software updates on my V30 that should have come directly from LG. Currently, I have the latest security update and on Android 11.

Now for the cons: The V60 has some downgrades compared to my V30. For one, the pixel density and the resolution of the display are much lower than my V30; about 395ppi vs. about 537ppi and 1080×2460 vs.

1440 x 2880. While not noticable from daily use, it becomes obvious when looking at pictures or setting said pictures as the background wallpaper. The V60 doesn’t have high refresh rate display settings like its competitors who have 120Hz screens with variable refersh rates to improve battery life.

The camera setup is decent with your traditional front-facing camera, main rear camera, a telephoto camera, and a wide-angle camera but the camera software is not amazing and the picture quality is alright at best.

The camera app UI feels more restrictive than the V30 and pictures are slow to load in the gallary when HDR processing is turned on. The design of the V60 is plain and simple with everything unique about it being in the inside of the phone and the V60’s sheer size being a decisive factor that can turn people away (increased size also means increased weight).

The dedicated voice assistant button was not useful for me and cannot be reprogrammed so, at least for me, it became a useless dead button that does nothing when pressed. The under-display fingerprint sensor is a nice showcase of new technology but it is not located in a good spot.

It is hard to get the exact location of the fingerprint sensor every time even with the light-up icon guide on the dipslay. It is slower than its competitors as it takes 1-2 seconds to register and then unlock the phone.

The fingerprint recognition needs work since it complains that it is reading only a partial fingerprint despite majority of the fingerprint being on said location. Lastly, like any carrier-locked phone, there is a ton of bloatware that most people will not use like the CW app, Game of Thrones game app, etc.

You can disable it but it is better to fully uninstall them with proper Android tools. I only had a few weeks with the phone but overall, I am enjoying it so far – maybe because I am simply a fan of LG phones.

The LG V60 is a good upgrade to my V30 despite all the compromises made. Given its relative flagship specs and model year, the market price of these phones are very appealing. I would like to include that a second display case is available for the phone but I had no reason to buy it.

It adds bulk and of course, more weight to the phone so it is definitely not an add-on for everyone.

I bought this phone as part of the bundled Tmobile package (Dual screen case). The phone is a bit large, but being able to run 2 or more applications on the phone and phone case is well worth it. It is cleanly responsive, the case allows games to be played using the dual screen feature in either “across both screens” or on one screen while the other is supporting the software game pad.

The sound from the speakers is quite impressive and the LG V60 is the last of a breed of smartphone that offers a quad DAC headphone jack for audiophiles to enjoy music. For business use it is handy for editing Excel spreadsheets on the fly, looking at a file while video conferencing via Duo, Teams or GoToMeeting, or even for sharing information across both screens.

It even supports Wacom pen and LG pen screen writing! Handy for those quick notes or sketches into your favorite pen friendly app. The camera supports up to a 64MP resolution but normally blends that resolution down to about a 16MP resolution.

Battery life is good, and the phone can be recharged via Qi charging along with the conventional USB (caseless) or with the magnetic dongle attachment on a good USB C cable. Just make sure the pad has enough “umph” to charge the phone in the case if used.

While the phone is great for running 2 apps side by side, there are a few shortcomings. First being that the separation in the dual screen case between screens does not favor the use of Navigation apps, Uber, Lyft or even watching videos or other apps that tend to vital info towards the middle of the display.

If you use the dual screen case, keep it in the case. I do not recommend frequent removal of the phone from the case as it can cause USB port issues. The magnetic connection dongle is a must if you use the dual screen case and can easily be lost.

The dongle does have a bad habit of coming detatched unless stabilized in a cradle, and will of course stick to various ferromagnetic friendly metal objects. The phone is very heavy in the case, so selfies and long conversations can wear out your arms.

Serious game players may enjoy the dual screens, but 1080p at 60hz does kind of dull the experience. Not a factor on videos, games or apps that don’t need higher eye candy resolutions. Overall I’ve had the phone since May and have been very pleased with its overall functionality.

The dual screens enable me to multitask up to 3 apps (2 on main, one on the case), the LG keyboard allows for comfortable typing in Landscape mode with and without the case, and the programmable gamepad can be set up with any modern Android game that needs it.

This phone has been slated to get Android 11 and hopefully LG will either allow it to go to Android 12 or at least allow for bootloader unlocking (a sore spot with folks that deliberately want to root their phones or experiment with Lineage or future AOSP ROMs) The phone is a success and I hope they learn from the G2 Flex (another LG innovation that was questionably successful) that bootloader locking is a BAD idea.

Design: Galaxy S22 very much looks and feels like a high-end device. The outside of the phone features Samsung’s Armor Aluminum alloy that’s been polished to a near-mirror finish, with the S22 also being one of the first phones equipped with Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus+ to protect the phone from drops and scratches — both in front and in back.

To add a little spice to the mixture, the S22’s backside sports a lovely matte texture – which does a surprisingly good job of resisting fingerprints. And for 2022, Samsung also spruced up the S22’s color options with new shades of green, pink and white, along with good ole black.

Like previous Galaxy S phones, the S22 comes with an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint reader, and after years of tweaking its algorithm and improving the tech, this time it feels seriously fast. In my experience, unlocking the phone was practically instant, and I never really ran into recognition issues unless my fingers were legit wet or greasy.

(Keep your grubby hands away from my phone if you’re eating pizza, k thnx. ) The one thing avid movie watchers should be aware of though is the color-matched frames on the pink and white models. If you’re the kind of person that might be bothered by a glint or sparkle around the edge of the phone while watching videos, you may want to go with one of the darker color options.

And while it’s not really a surprise at this point, the S22 doesn’t feature a microSD card slot or a headphone jack. With the Galaxy S line now being three generations removed from the last device to include both of those features, it’s pretty clear they’re not coming back.

Display: Samsung has had a lock on the crown when it comes to making the best mobile displays in the business for a while now. But on the S22, the company has outdone itself once again with displays that can hit a peak brightness of 1,300 nits on the S22, or an astounding 1,750 nits on the S22+.

Suffice to say any fears of the S22’s screen being hard to read even in direct sunlight are unfounded. Then, to make things look even better, Samsung created a new feature called Vision Booster designed to amp up things like contrast and color saturation in very bright or dim conditions.

While there’s no indicator or pop-up that lets you know it’s working, I found the effect most pronounced when I used the phone outdoors, with more subtle changes in the dark when compared to phones like the Pixel 6 Pro.

I found Vision Booster made dark scenes easier to parse, but even when viewed side-by-side, I basically had to press my face up against the phones to really see the differences. But regardless of where you are, the end result is a display that lives in technicolor, pumping out vivid shades and hues, along with the perfectly dark inky blacks that make OLED screens so enthralling.

Plus, thanks to a 2,340 x 1,080 resolution and a variable 120Hz refresh rate, everything from photos to gifs look sharp and crisp. Preformance: The Galaxy S22 line is one of the first phones to feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, which when combined with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (or 256GB if you opt for the upgrade) results in a phone that feels blisteringly fast.

In my experience, there isn’t really anything you can throw at the S22 that makes it even sweat, aside from stuff like hardcore multitasking when connected to an external monitor via Samsung Dex (which is still very much a thing).

And while some reports claim that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Gen 8 Gen 1 has a proclivity for running hot, S22’s built-in vapor chamber cooling system seems effective at keeping throttling to a minimum. Compared to the S21 FE, which features an older Snapdragon 888 chip, our S22+ posted scores in Geekbench 5’s Compute test around 25 percent higher (4,708 vs 5,999).

And while the gap wasn’t quite as large in Geekbench 5’s CPU test, the S22+ still posted a significantly higher single-core score of 1,213 compared to 1,061 for the S21 FE. As for wireless connectivity, all versions of the S22 and S22+ support all the important flavors of 5G, including Verizon and AT&T’s new C-band spectrum.

Cameras: After recent advancements from competitors like the iPhone 13 and Pixel 6, Samsung is now playing catchup to Apple and Google in the camera department. And while Samsung is touting a bunch of new camera features for the S22 and S22+ like Adaptive Pixel and various “Nightography” improvements, the real upgrades are the S22’s new sensors — particularly the one for its 50MP main cam.

Thanks to that significantly higher resolution (up from 12MP on the S21), photos from the S22’s main wide-angle camera are just flat-out sharper than before. But more importantly, the S22’s primary camera offers wider dynamic range and big improvements for low-light photos.

In darker scenes, the S22 uses a four-to-one pixel binning technique that combines four adjacent pixels into one big pixel, which allows for improved light sensitivity. The result is brighter photos with richer colors, especially at night.

And even though Google’s Night Sight still has a slight advantage over Samsung’s Night Mode, the S22 has seriously narrowed the gap. Elsewhere, you also get a solid 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view, and a 10MP telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom, the latter of which is important because neither the standard iPhone 13 or Pixel 6 comes with a dedicated zoom lens.

So once again, the base S22 is the most well-rounded camera phone for the money. And in front, the 10MP selfie camera captured crisp pictures of my face including my many pores and blemishes, though you can always play around with Samsung’s beauty settings if you want to put on a smoother face for social media.

Battery life: Featuring 3,700 and 4,500 mAh batteries respectively, both the S22 and S22+ have respectable longevity. But if lasting a long time between charges is really important for you, the S22+ is definitely the better pick as it lasted 17 hours and 33 minutes on our local video rundown test, compared to just 14 hours and 47 minutes for the standard S22.

And thanks to its 45W wired charging (up from 25W charging on the S22), the S22+ juices up way faster too. In both cases though, you’ll need to make sure you have the proper power brick, as neither phone comes with a charging adapter in the box.

I bought the new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 512GB, phone on Sunday 19th June 2022 at JB HI FI Forrest Chase. My previous phone was Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and it was a great phone, but I do miss the micoSD plus Samsung Pay does not do magnetic strip thing anymore, oh well, what can I do and/or others.

This new Galaxy S22 Ultra is insanely smooth such as 120Hz with QUADHD+. I currently don’t have a case and screen protection at all, I don’t mind if I drop this phone that cost RRP: AUD $2149, when it was released earlier this year.

The battery is a big difference such as 4500mA on the previous phone and now 5000mA, better & faster processor and efficient chip on S22 Ultra, solid built phone. Camera system is truly amazing with 4 camera at the back compared to just 3 on my previous phone.

The Camera software and hardware is much different with them both as the S22 Ultra is a whole new level with pictures and videos quality even with low light. The apps are much more stable than the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra for some reason, not sure why.

This phone battery is being protected by the 85% maximum charge capacity which in terms longer battery life as well as degrading at a slower rate. Overall it is the best investment for me personally, it maybe out of your price range or if you have enough I suggest buy it.

This phone might or might not suit you, so please ask your service provider such as Telstra, Vodafone, Optus or others. If you are buying outright please ask the sales representative and ask as many questions before purchasing this product such as JB HI FI, Samsung, Officeworks, Good Guys and other retailers.

If you can please research your own as well such as reviews, canstar reviews, choice reviews, Google reviews, retailers stores reviews and others. If it is right for your needs the go ahead and purchase this Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 128GB or 256GB or 512GB or 1TB (Only at Samsung online).

Just in general please feel the phone at one of the retailers such as a demo or at their stands, whichever suits you. In terms of purchasing this product I saved approximately $524. 00 RRP for this phone, therefore I spent $1625 for the 512GB S22 Ultra.

Nice phone. Actually it’s an awesome phone, compact enough as it is considered comparable to a Galaxy S10e. However, it may not be a major upgrade from the S10e nor its predecessor Galaxy S21 or S21 FE, but it is a nice phone with a more premium look and a considerably upgraded camera.

The S22 is very similar, almost identical, in it’s physical size as the S10e; S22 146 x 70. 6 x 7. 6 mm vs S10e 142. 2 x 69. 9 x 7. 9 mm. It has 256GB internal storage and 8GB RAM, just as the S10e 256GB variant, but no external storage, such as MicroSD, no 3.

5mm headphone/audio jack, and no physical biometrics sensor. It does have a better, brighter display with 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1500 nits, and 19. 5:9 screen ratio, though with 425 ppi. Screen size is 6.

1 inches, which is smaller than the S22 (6. 2″) and S22 FE (6. 4″) but larger than the S10e (5. 8″). Battery life seemed to be underperforming. Even though it’s a bigger battery, battery life is slightly longer than the S10e’s.

More power consumption is partly due to the 120 Hz refresh rate screen. Its camera image quality is good overall. Good saturation though overexposure of images is present, such as more dynamic and vibrant colors where colors will look less natural, all of which is common with Samsung’s cameras, especially with a lot of software assistance on the camera.

Unlike the other variants (S22+, S22 Ultra), the S22 doesn’t have WiFi 6e. Fast charger is sold separately. (No charger is included). For in-screen biometrics, Samsung did a great job on its ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

Though not as perfect or as fast as a physical fingerprint sensor, it is well above the likes of an optical fingerprint sensor. Overall, a nice phone. Processing time seemed equivalent with the S10e, at times faster and slower than the S10e.

It’s still a nice phone. However, for some it may not be a major upgrade for those coming from previous Galaxy S series S10 and later, while for some others, it may. For me at least, if the S22 came onboard with either a larger internal storage, at least 512GB, or expendable storage microSD slot, it may have been a worthy upgrade, and 5 stars.

Plus a physical biometrics sensor as its side power/lock button, would really be golden.

Hello, everyone! I hope this review can provide some insight and inform some people coming from iPhone or upgrading from another android device. Let’s get to it! I would consider myself an uber nerd when it comes to consumer electronics.

I’m one of those people who take complete advantage of my carriers upgrade service and move to a new phone every year like clockwork, granted trading in my old device each time. For the last several years I’ve loyally stuck with Apple’s iPhone.

This isn’t brand loyalty as much as it’s personal preference and ecosystem related. The main things I’ve looked for in a phone up until now has beenbuild quality, OS, photo and video capture quality, display quality, resolution and refresh rate, processor strength, ease of use, battery life, and most important to me, consistency.

This wasn’t the first, or even the first few times I’ve switched to an android phone. Prior to my last few iPhone’s I’d owned several Samsung Galaxy devices. I always choose the flagship of any make as I don’t want to miss out on any potential features at the top of the spec list.

For example, being able to capture Pro Raw footage only at a certain sku on the latest iPhone 13 line. This was a HUGE decision for me to switch back to Samsung/Android after having my expectations on iPhone/iOS exceeded for many years at this point.

What better way to write this review than sitting here with my Z Fold 4 unfolded, using the split keyboard, allowing me to comfortably write an in-depth review on a mobile phone. The unfolded, tablet-like display is truly a treat to interact with.

That’s the perfect place to start, considering the novelty of a folding display is what got me thinking to begin with. If you’re wondering why I waited until the fourth generation, well, we all know what happens when we adopt brand new technology early.

I had to let most, if not all of the kinks be ironed out. Display/Build Quality/S Pen The Z Fold 4’s main display (tablet mode) is a 7. 6″ QXGA+ 2176×1812 AMOLED with 374 Pixels Per Inch (ppi) with HDR10+ and a Variable Refresh Rate of up to 120hz.

The VRR display allows the phone to dynamically lower the refresh rate, where it makes sense, to save on battery life. If you’re wondering what QXGA+ means, just know it’s in between a display resolution of 1440p(QHD) and 2160p(UHD) and has an 21.

6:18 aspect ratio. In other words, it’s pretty **bleep** crisp. The 120hz refresh rate is immediately recognizable as someone coming from the 120hz Pro Motion Super Retina XDR display on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

For general navigation, web browsing, scrolling, and multitasking they’re both near identical in terms of snappiness, but the Z Fold’s animations seem to be ever so slightly shorter, edging it out as a win for me in overall responsiveness at my fingertips.

We can’t leave out what’s arguably the most handy part of the Fold’s display configuration, and that’s the cover display that allows you to easily use the Fold as a conventional, regular sized smartphone, that is if you’re willing to overlook the almost obnoxiously chunky feel while in that mode.

This is further exacerbated by a particular phone case, but more on that later. The cover display is what you’ll likely use the majority of the time you’re out and about once the initial excitement for the main display wears down a bit.

Both of the Fold’s displays get bright enough to easily see what’s going on, even in direct sunlight. Text is easily legible, and texting is easy work, especially on the main display. One of the most enjoyable experiences on the near tablet sized display, besides being able to comfortably watch all your favorite content from any streaming service, believe it or not, is the extra S Pen functionality.

I highly recommend buying the Samsung Fold Edition Case with S Pen included for $90. Normally, a quality case will run you $50 and the Fold Edition S Pen costs another $50, so that’s a $10 saving for something that’s almost half the reason you’d buy this phone to begin with.

The other upside to this particular case is the satisfying soft but sturdy material that is a pleasure to touch regularly. It also has a protruding hump on the back that holds the S Pen in place, but also acts as a handle that makes the Fold much easier to hold onto.

I can’t emphasize quite how much this truly improved my experience holding the phone, but I can say, without a dount, I’d NEVER use it any ither way. The S Pen technology in general has come a long way, with very precise stroke detection, as well as being able to detect pressure for light or dark strokes.

Personally, as somewhat of a mediocre artist, I truly enjoy drawing and coloring in the built in PenUp app. Handwriting messages and notes in Samsung Notes is also satisfying, and offers up a criminally underused feature introduced with the earliest Samsung Note series phones back in the day, and that’s the scrapbooking feature that allows you to drag and drop pictures or excerpts from web pages directly from a browser with the URL embedded into the note.

There’s tons of hidden S Pen features I highly recommend watching a YouTube video on. Also, keep in mind, you want to purchase the S Pen Fold Edition ($50) or S Pen Pro ($100) because the Note series S Pen has a tip designed specifically for that phone and could damage the Fold display much easier.

up in, the User Interface (UI). Samsung has opted for one of themost powerful processors in an Samsung phone, and one that’s used in the majority of recent gaming phones, the first generation 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ (SM8475).

The chip has an octa-core CPU with variable multi core clock speeds, and an Adreno 730 GPU. I chose the base model with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM which is the standard across all storage capacity configurations.

What this means for real world performance is absolutely breezing throughmultitasking,which is better than ever on the main display, where you can now have three, and technically even four applications open at the same time.

With three application windows open, you have one taking up half of the main display vertically, and two other applications, square shaped, taking up the other half of the display. So two squares and one vertical rectangle.

Picture having a YouTube video in one square, a text box in another, and Samsung Notes in the vertical rectangle. As far asgaming goes, there’s not a single mobile game,whether it be on the Play Store or an external APK that this device can’t completely max out at its highest supported frame rate.

Games that run at 60FPS are a cake walk and the few supported 120FPS games are a near flawless experience as well. One thing I underestimated was just how much of a delight gaming would be on the large main display and just how many games and applications “just work” and fill up the entire display.

Out of 75 or so applications I’ve tested on the Fold, only one of them had to be manually adjusted to fill the entire display, and even then, it somehow just magically knew how to translate into the display’s odd aspect ratio.

Unfortunately, Samsung’s arguably most interesting phone has only received Android version 12L, while some of the other latest Android devices have received the brand new Android 13. I imagine this wouldn’t matter as much given Samsung is still opting for itsproprietary secondary overlay UI, One UI 4.

1. 1, which is likely necessary to tie in the seamless multitasking and S Pen features, as well as some other niche features like DeX. I won’t get into DeX much in this review because it’s an impractical feature if you ask me, allowing for a user to use their Fold somewhat like a laptop.

“Google it. ” Hands down, one of the best features of this device is the extremely reliable and consistent fingerprint reader built into the side power button, below your volume rocker. I am truly blown away by how fast an unlock is.

There’s also a fairly quick and somewhat consistent facial recoginition unlock that you can use in conjunction with any other unlock method, if that floats your boat.

After seeing the first few renditions of this model i was always super intrigued as i have always loved samsung and the idea of having an all in one phone and essentially mini-tablet all in one workstation that now after using i also know you can use as a portable COMPUTER as long as you have a smart tv to connect to or a hdmi adapter for your phone.

I switched from a iPhone 12 Pro Max after using it for about 2 years and this phone is a night and day difference once you get it set up. Extremely intuitive, customizable, and overall a very smooth experience.

The multitasking feature is incredible, and although i also know that the task bar is simply a OS update and will come to the previous 3 as well, the multiple other revisions made this the no brainer to take the leap.

I also got the s pen case with pen, and for me this isna must-have. I have done everything from writing personal notes, to doodling/sketching, to literally being able to edit photos due to the larger intuitive folding display.

Not to mention the features like when youre fullscreen on youtube and half-fold th3 phone it turns it into a splitscreen youtube experience keeping the videos always at the top while you can scroll recommended.

Potential cons are compared to competitors i am a power user and grt battery anxiety as i am used to charging cases. That being said, with the right chargers, no matter where you are this phone will get to full leaps and bounds quicker than even my old iPhone managed.

Also appreciate the microsoft connectivity to windows which i missed since i made the worst decision of my life and got rid of my note 10+ for an iphone simply due to a little lag and battery life. At the end of the day, its fast charging is incredible, S pen feels great, crease is expected and hardly noticible, or an issue, folding screen feels well integrated, just as has been proven time and time again please be gentle with the inner display as the protector for the folding glass has a relatively poor scratch rating being that it needs to be able to fold.

Again, i did my research and know my risks and where to look out for it. All in all, i think this is a great phone and intend to use it for years. I also believe the hardware is beefy enough to stand the test of time.

That being said depending how crazy samsung gets with improvements in the following versions i might bite the bullet and upgrade to a newer fold rwhen the time is right. Ill likely have paid it off by then, though.

I love this phone and would ABSOLUTELY recommend it to those who just feel like their phones done give them enough. If the deal is there. Also if they ever made the phone more tablet shaped in terms of compatibility with certain gains.

Though im sure by the time they did i assume developers will begin integrating better support for these devices because although theyre not a new thing, they are definitely an emerging option in the phone space.

When the original Z Fold came out it caught my attention, however, the fragility of the device combined with the exceedingly high price tag and lack of water resistance were all deal-breakers for me.

This all changed however with the Z Fold 3 though so I made the leap. I was mostly satisfied with the Z Fold 3 but I craved a better camera experience & battery life to say the least. It just so happens that close to the time that the Z Fold 4 was coming out the plastic screen protector from my inside folding screen miraculously started bubbling up.

Of course, this was the extra push that I needed to make the jump over to the Z fold 4. After using the Fold 4 for some time now it has proven to be a bigger upgrade than I thought it would be. The folding display is still amazing but Samsung has actually made it a little better.

The screen’s crease now doesn’t feel as deep as it did on the Z Fold 3 so now it fades even more into the background enhancing the user experience. The camera is also more versatile and does a great job of taking pictures in a variety of circumstances that I am happy with, I can even take moon shots now so I don’t have to be as jealous of my wife’s S22 Ultra cameras.

The battery life is also significantly better. I don’t feel the need to charge up as often as I did when I had the Z Fold 3 and the battery can last me close to a full day on a single charge. Even though my experience with the Fold 4 has been excellent it is by no means perfect.

There is still no slot in the phone for the s-pen, the front screen doesn’t work with the spen, there is still no dust resistance, and the cameras could still be very much improved. Overall though Samsung got a lot of things right with this Fold 4 and I am sure that I will continue to enjoy it well into the future.

I will also continue to enjoy the look on iPhone users faces when I open the Fold and they realize that they are looking into the future while they are stuck in the past with Apple.

I finally upgraded from my Note 10+ that I got at launch all the way back in 2019, and my experience with the ultra relative to it has been pretty positive. But while the S line has been on a bumpy road with features additions, removals, combinations, and design changes, the only thing radically different between 2019 Note and 2022 Ultra is the 44 extra pixels of height on the display.

It’s the same boxy design (which I like), the same curved sides (thankfully much less intense this time around), same S pen (almost exactly the same even), and the same Samsung experience we’ve gotten used to with OneUI.

However, I am happy I upgraded, because while I didn’t gain any features, everything I had before has been upgraded and tweaked to be smoother, quicker, and more powerful. The display is much brighter, and is just as easily viewable outside on a bright day as it is inside at night.

The battery, while I’ve heard it’s lesser than the S21 Ultra, is still miles ahead of the 5-6 hours my Note was left with by the time I upgraded (I had never replaced the battery), I’ll easily get 8 or 9 hours off a full charge and I’d consider myself a power user with many background apps as well as processing heavy daily tasks.

S Pen thankfully has all of the features it did before, I’m one of the few who finds practical use for Air Command when watching YouTube propped on a table and don’t need to reach my arm across to skip or change the volume, and especially when taking photos from distances or if I need to hold a specific angle and tapping the shutter button would ruin it (I can’t be the only one with that problem right?).

Speaking of photos, the cameras live up to the hype on this year’s Ultra. I’d heard complaints and gripes since the S20 but when I finally jumped it seems Samsung has ironed out most of those. Point and shoot picture taking, without any fancy zooming or photo modes, is class leading, and while you lose zoom options in the true 108 MP mode having a photo with a ton of detail can be cool and enhance it in most situations.

Wide angle is basically perfect, with the great color and detail persisting across the lenses, and the zoom is mind blowing and very freeing. The best uses I’ve found for the zoom are wildlife or nature photos, where you can frame something exactly and get it in crisp detail.

Zooming up to 60x is usually the most you’ll get away with, although I’ve managed to get a couple stunning shots at 100x, which is impossible on my brother’s S21 Ultra. The night mode is so good it’s almost a catch-22 (pun intended), if you take a picture at night it’ll automatically do a long exposure night mode photo and the result just looks like daytime, complete with blue skies.

This does mean if you want to preserve the dark night look, some adjustments or post touchups will be needed, although it’s better to capture all the detail now and adjust later than to lose it all in the dark from the beginning.

A good tip for using the camera is that photos never end up how they do from the viewfinder, there’s a ton of post process done on every one (something you can turn off in pro mode if it’s not your fancy) so you might just need to take a photo to see if it’ll be good.

Video performance is pretty good but can be hit or miss, although admittedly I don’t take many videos. The same great color performance carries through most of the time but lighting can be a bit off, especially when you have a bright light in a dark room (i.

e. a TV screen in a room at night) but it’s usually taken care of with quick adjustments with the brightness slider. A good benchmark for video lighting is plays, as in live actors across a stage. Being a large dark room and wanting to capture what’s going on can be tough for a lot of cameras but with a couple taps the S22 catches up and creates a surprisingly balanced and detailed video from what would normally be very non-optimal circumstances for phone cameras.

Overall I think it’s definitely an Ultra phone, it’s got all the big numbers and lives up to them for me, even if they might not have in the device’s between my Note and now. And while there aren’t any new features compared to my Note, it doesn’t mean this isn’t the swiss army knife of phones, heck, electronic devices.

As a tech enthused type I often need to do specific tasks for this and that and in specific ways for this device or that one, and this phone works every time when I use it, although for productivity my desktop computer is my first choice when I’m home.

Samsung has made a very refined device, bringing all the best features from past devices and upgrading them to truly be worthy of the name Ultra. I’d recommend the phone to anyone looking for the absolute highest across the board, even if it doesn’t do anything incredibly interesting like fold in half or have a ring light built in.

I bought this phone, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the best variant of their 2022 flagships, a month ago and I absolutely love it. It’s the best phone I’ve ever had, and that does sound cliche, but I will explain why I say this.

Samsung is a consumer electronics company that’s been around for over sixty years – it’s absolutely clear that they know their material. Their camera features which they’ve built into this device are absolutely above and beyond what I’ve seen on other phones, and even other dedicated cameras! I believe I read that consumer electronics companies (maybe it was just Samsung themselves!) decided that the best camera a consumer has is the one that is on their person at all times – Samsung most definitely follow this philosophy closely.

The cycle for taking a single, simple yet extremely high-quality, high-resolution (nominally 4000×3000 pixels – depending on color range and variety going up to six megabytes) picture can be completed in maybe five seconds depending on how long it takes to line up the shot – a grid and AI can assist with this – but if you can spare 15, you can make a Single Take session, which captures multiple photos and videos from different angles.

And there are professional features included which I have not yet explored. The customization afforded to the user compared to my previous phones, which due to their operating system have been comparatively locked down, is absolutely overwhelming.

I don’t believe I’ve discovered half of what this phone can do at its core, and I’ve got a while yet, I suppose, before I do. From motion wallpaper, custom icons and sounds for each app, multiple home screens and widgets, to varied ways to navigate the phone’s interface – including eliminating the navigation bar and going full gesture mode on the full display – you’ll never lack ways to make this phone your own.

Samsung also have you covered with this phone if you use a computer heavily! If you use Windows 10 or 11, you can use their app called Phone Link, together with the Link to Windows feature on the phone, to send and receive messages, make and receive calls, look at and transfer pictures, and stream the screen wirelessly! The best part of computer integration is this: There is a feature called DeX, for Desktop eXperience, which describes it to a tee! Download the special app on Windows or other platforms, connect via a USB-C cable, USB-C to A cable or (most conveniently) wirelessly, and you have a whole other operating system overlaid, but integrated with the host! Here, the potential for interoperability is greatly increased, and some phone apps have greatly expanded UX (User eXperience) if used on a desktop – many times you can access their tablet interface or even other special functions! Bottom line – get this phone if you want a full exploration of all that consumer mobile devices can do, and many things you didn’t even know were possible on handheld devices!.

I’ll try to make this review short and concise as there are probably plenty of detailed reviews that have been written or video recorded. I’ll try to breakdown the areas which I have a problem with after I give an overview perspective.

Overview Perspective Having not owned a Samsung smartphone in close to 10 years (my last device was a Note 3) I can see that Samsung has come a LONNNNNGGG way in improving the design and functionality of their devices.

The S22 Ultra is definitely one of the best Android devices of 2022 and with Samsung’s commitment to 4 years of OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches, the S22 Ultra will be a solid device for years to come.

Area of Contention #1: Software. Touchw. I mean Samsung One UI (;-) is a MARKED improvement over Touchwiz of yore – however, it is still a fairly “heavy” Android skin that seems to still stand to be improved upon quite a bit.

I am coming from a OnePlus 7 Pro (still running the ORIGINAL Oxygen OS (11)) and OnePlus WAS known for having a light Android skin tweaked for performance and battery life. Samsung could take some direction from OnePlus for tweaking their skin for better battery life and performance and leaving the extras that they add into their deployment of Android as plug-ins or software that can be loaded from the Galaxy Store.

One of my main gripes with the software concerns Bluetooth in the following regards: 1) The BT device menu popping up EACH TIME you turn on the BT radio (it is MIND NUMBINGLY ANNOYING) 2) Not being able to see the battery life of the connected BT device directly in the status bar (as I can on my OnePlus) (and instead having to long-press on the BT icon (when the device is connected) from quick settings to see the battery life of the connected device.

This is a HUGE miss and one that should be a STANDARD for Android as a whole (let alone the S22 Ultra). I could go on and on with other little details, but overall – OneUI has much room for improvement that I hope gets better with OneUI 5 and beyond.

Area of Contention #2: Battery Life I know that there are many factors involved in the battery life of a device and that battery life is a subjective topic person-to-person – HOWEVER, the battery life for the S22 Ultra SHOULD BE MUCH BETTER.

Yes, I can make it through a day on a charge (I have the charge setting enabled to limit charging to 85%) and I only charge my device when I need to and not every night (I am trying to extend the life of the battery for as long as possible).

However, with my OnePlus 7 Pro – I can EASILY make it a Day and a half before having to charge that device versus the S22 Ultra where I am true to have to top it up first thing in the morning following a previous day’s use.

I know that this is attributed to how the software and OS is optimized and there’s not much that I can do about it (other than uninstalling apps that I don’t use). Area of Contention #3: Speakers Performance.

Okay, there’s no easy or nice way to put this but. the speakers on the S22 Ultra are pure sh!t My OnePlus 7 Pro has a pair of speakers that blows the speakers on the S22 Ultra out of the water (and that device is 3+ years old!).

For a $1000+ device, I expected speakers to be top-of-the-line and competing with the speakers from iOS-based phones – but instead, they are just pure trash and that is unacceptable. If I didn’t invest so much into this device (case, screen protector, vinyl skins, etc.

) – I would highly consider trading this phone in for the new Pixel 7 Pro. I may even consider trading this in for the S23 Ultra if that device has an improvement in the speakers (volume output, better bass tones, etc.

) (YES, the speakers are THAT BAD). In conclusion, the S22 Ultra is a solid device that will MORE THAN fulfill your smartphone needs. It has areas that desperately need to be improved upon if Samsung continues to price this device in the $1000+ territory, but for the price, you’re getting a device that will serve its purpose and then some.

My cell phone “baselines” included a Moto W377G “flip phone” (more recent) and a Nokia 1650 (previous), both from Net10. My usage had been for voice only then increasingly voice & text the past two years.

I have no interest the Internet & email access features of cell phones. I had discovered that Net10 had become expensive compared to other ‘pay-as-you-go’ providers, esp after a friend recommended PagePlus Cellular.

I wanted a phone that featured a keyboard for testing (I’m all thumbs with a regular keypad). After finding the LG Cosmos on EBay from Mobile Karma (recommend them highly as a seller with excellent prices, fast service and products better than advertized), I researched user opinion on which I based my purchase.

have found to suit my needs extremely well and have been very happy with my purchase. Battery life could be longer but have found that is in large part due to how far one is from a provider tower and therefore the amount of RF power the phone uses during idle for it’s “I am here” hand shake with the tower.

Otherwise all features work exactly as advertized. Purchased DataPilot V7. 0 separately to manage my “address book”, photos, ring tones, etc. at which it does a good job. All in all if you are looking for a phone to be used as a telephone (imagine that!) and a texting device, this phone does the job very well.

The camera works about as good as any other camera on a cell phone, I guess, for those quick snaps that you want to send to someone on the fly (else, I use my 8Megapixel SLR for serious work). But, if you want a cell phone that has “talking on a phone” as an after thought feature, then this phone is not for you and you will likely be much better off with a Droid or iPhone.

While the internal keyboard and small screen take some getting used to this is a functional and reliable device. It has proven to be an excellent alternative to my smart phone–which still can be used on Wi-Fi for internet access.

The great advantage to this device is that I was able to reduce my monthly service cost significantly and still maintain my phone and text capabilities on a reliable network. I am very pleased with this device.

For those needing a larger keyboard and larger screen I would suggest the octane by LG. I would have purchased it but the cosmos 2 was more within my price range.

I already have a smartphone from my office so all I wanted to do was replace my simple Verizon flip phone. Also I was not going to pay an extra 30. 00 a month for data service when I do not need it. I could not find anything in the stores that was similar to my old phone, and had the features I like so I went to the place where you can find just about anything, EBay.

This phone is a perfectly good phone and I am happy with it. Another great thing about this phone (and any basic phone for that matter) that I cannot say about my smartphone is that it can hold a charge for 3 days or more depending on use.

My only complaint is that because the keys are not flat, it is not as easy to text on as my old phone. Other than that, I would recommend this phone.

THE BOTTOM LINE Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro Max is the ultimate mobile content creation machine, with the best camera and longest battery life of any iPhone. The ultimate phone for photo and video creators! The iPhone 13 Pro Max (starting at $1,099) is the ultimate professional content creator’s phone.

It combines Apple’s excellent camera algorithms and software support with true two-day battery life for a massive phone that’s always ready to realize your dreams. While the standard iPhone 13 (starting at $799) seems to be the best choice for most people, with a terrific balance of size, power, battery life, and price, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is a terrific alternative for heavy users and artists, with its killer cameras and beautiful buttress of a battery.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is, well, max. At 6. 3 by 3. 1 by 0. 3 inches and 8. 5 ounces, it’s a large, heavy phone that you won’t want to use in one hand. That’s the price you pay (along with your $1,100) for this kind of battery life.

But you’re probably used to it already, as it’s almost exactly the same size as the 12 Pro Max. It’s a little heavier than last year’s model, though, which weighed 8. 0 ounces. It’s roomy, narrow-bezel screen gets a little bit more real estate from a slightly smaller notch than on the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Apple has said in numerous articles- the notch is 20% smaller than before. On the back, the Pro Max’s triple-camera system juts out noticeably. I’d smooth it out with a case, although you don’t necessarily need one for protection—the phone carries IP68 waterproofing and has Apple’s tough “ceramic shield” screen coating.

(with a phone this nice I still like to always get a screen protector, they have awesome designs and custom ones for cases sold on castify. com I even found cute little sparkle individual camera lens covers to put on for extra protection (and it’s a cute touch! They have tons of colors on Amazon that will work with any Apple 11 up! The 13 Pro Max comes in four colors, including blue, gold, graphite (gray), and silver.

The blue is very cool and elegant, as you can see below. CONS- BIG HEAVY Like other phones its size, this is more of a bag phone than a pocket phone. It fits in my coat and jacket pockets, but it’ll stick out of most pants pockets but I’ve noticed over the years so did just about every iPhone from the 6 and up! OVERALL I RECOMMENDED THIS 100% I am an Mac/Apple user is all things from phones, watches, laptops, TVs.

You name it if it has an apple on it, it’s definitely in our household!.

What I liked : Fit and finish of the iPhone 13 Pro Max has to be the best on the market as of March 2022. It’s not light, and it just feels perfect in my hand. I like the flat edges of this phone, and honestly it just looks really nice compared to some of the iPhones of yore and was enough to convince me to dump my usual choice of going with a Galaxy in favor of something different than the usual.

Plus Sierra Blue is really pretty and it reminds me of the Zephyr Blue Metallic paint on the 03-05 Toyota Celica. Kinda wish it came in Midnight Green, that color was so cool. Everything about this phone feels function forward on the outside.

The A15 is a really snappy mobile processor, for everything that I do it doesn’t even seem to stress the thing, much less clog the ram up be it 6gb or 8gb depending on what source you ask. For most of us, myself included, it’ll take age to slow down this iPhone.

The display is nice, 120hz so playing a few mobile games look great on this as well as watching a youtube video or two. Also the battery life on this phone is insane, I am on day two of not having it on the charger and it’s hit around 36% and I use this phone for some critical functions of my job (calls, task management, ect) so there has been a consistent load on it outside of when I sleep.

AirPlay is awesome by the way, hands down one of my favorite features is being able to quickly and seamlessly slip between my car’s stereo and a pair of head phones. Also the speaker quality is pretty dang nice too! The camera might be the next best thing next to the design for the 13 Pro Max.

Low light looks pretty good when I take pictures or use it for videos. There are neat short cuts like tap back which I use to turn on the flashlight on the phone, it’s not the brightest thing but it does a good enough job.

The screen responds nicely and taking videos of my dogs running in slow mo has never been so entertaining, plus the camera taking a mix of photo and video has earned some giggles too. What I hated : So the first thing I am going to get out of the way is that I came from a Galaxy S10+, everyone that I have talked about iOS to has claimed that it is either a different beast altogether (Not really) and that it is more functional than Android by far (I wouldn’t agree or disagree with this).

Organization is NOT something I would say iOS does well, with Android you have the App drawer, with iOS I have made different folders and prayed that my goldfish like memory wouldn’t end with me trying to find one of the many apps I use.

Stacks/Widgets aren’t bad, but I feel like Android does this better as well. This isn’t exactly something I would call bad, but it was enough for me to second guess this phone after a couple of days because my organization of all the apps I use was driving me nuts.

For a company that focuses on the idea of things “Just working” I think Apple needs to take a look outside and make some minor tweaks to perfect iOS. I also kind of miss my custom roms for Android as well but anyone with two functioning brain cells knows why Apple doesn’t allow that sort of thing.

Also 3rd party apps don’t always work even if you approve them and for crying out loud allow us to emulate or VM older versions of iOS for older apps that can be found on the App Store! I was looking forward to trying Doom II RPG on this phone but iOS 15 isn’t compatible and I am too lazy to find a work around at this time.

I really like the way this phone feels in my hand though, and if I had to buy another phone again (please no) I’d stick with the 13 Pro Max cause I like it THAT much.

After upgrading from the 11 Pro Max, I immediately notice an increased responsiveness and color vibrance—attributes in themselves that would be worth considering an upgrade. Apple says it correctly on their site, “A display so responsive, every interaction feels new again.

†Additionally, somehow the phone itself is even more beautiful with the square edge stainless steel, taller frame, and smooth ceramic glass. This time around I chose silver, being traditionally a graphite / black subscriber—I’m glad I did.

My only drawback here is that the frame is of such a quality that it almost feels buttery, making it nearly impossible to hold with one hand…a case is necessary for grip. While I’m still testing the camera, so far I’m pleased with the upgrade from the 11.

The tri-camera 2019 model never failed to underperform when compared to Samsung, Google phone, or Blackberry images. The 13 has a noticeable upgrade in richness to what I would consider ‘acceptable’, though Apple is still far from the capabilities I’ve seen on the aforementioned models.

Low light photo has improved, but video still looks 5 years behind, pixelated and grainy like an entry-level DSLR. The photographic styles prior to shooting are a game-changer for me. The attribute I disliked most about the iPhone 11 Pro Max camera was the yellowed appearance of shots right off the device; I would forever be decreasing the warmth and filtering important moments.

On the 13 you can set a pre-filter, more or less, that eliminates the yellowed look with multiple options. The portrait and cinematic modes can be rewarding, but ultimately the device is using an algorithm to edge detect and I’m not into the fake blurs around people, which is what you would mostly be capturing with the high aperture…lots more work to be done there.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the call quality bump as well. Perhaps that was an update from the 12, but I just exited a loud car and when the other end of my call could not hear me with my Sony XM4s (yes call quality is still trash on their flagship headphone model), switching to the phone directly eliminated all surrounding sound other than my voice—the 11 wasn’t quite that notable in loud environments.

As far as pricing is concerned $1099 is the standard these days, so without a price increase I don’t have anything negative to say. To me, the value I get over 2 years from a device worth that pays for itself 20 times over.

With Verizon’s trade-in discount my upgrade cost $99 and tax—the decision was clear. FYI: Def don’t need another wall charger after receiving the 20v with the 11. the 30v usb bricks also work…so no worries on the footprint reduction.

At this point I have too many white cords as it is and the mag safe adaptation is only $39, which naturally I purchased to maximize the new phone high. I did, however, find it odd that they did not include the upgraded rope wire that came with a new keyboard I purchased…hmm.

I remember Motorola from my teen years, in the mid to late 90’s, because my first ever pager 📟, was from Motorola, so I kind of have a soft spot in my heart for this brand, though this is the very 1st phone I’ve owned from them! I’ve only had this brand new phone for maybe a week now even though there are SOOOOO MANY different amazing functions personalization options, I am STILL getting used to it all the different new functions I had no idea about! Bought is last year in June from Target, and a year later I’m still very happy with my purchase. I found the phone very easy to use, the battery life about as good as advertised, with the camera in low light settings the only small drawback.

The fingerprint reader is quite responsive and reliable. The screen is excellent for my purposes, emails, web browsing, reading ebooks and watching Netflix and HBO Max. I’ve never had any problems making or receiving calls, or sending or receiving texts, nor with setting up voicemail in both Google Voice and Mint, a T-Mobile reseller.

Although the phone doesn’t have Wi-Fi 6 or G5, connectivity is plenty fast for my purposes. One thing I particularly like is the gestures and shortcuts Motorola puts in their phones, one of my favorites being – even with the phone off – simply shaking it turns on the flashlight, very helpful!One thing to remember is that this is a budget phone, though a very good one, with a relatively slow processor – compared to higher priced phones – with 4 GB RAM and up to 64 GB internal storage.

It is plenty-fast for everyday use, but if you are into a lot of gaming, extensive video editing or anything like that you’ll probably want to consider something with better specifications. As a tech geek I help friends with their phones and computers, and those friends who’ve bought Motorola phones generally have been quite happy, including one who reluctantly switched from iPhone to a Motorola phone and is now a happy Android convert.

The Moto G Power has excellent battery life, excellent CPU performance and plenty of storage. Battery typically lasts 4 days or more. Downsides: Older version of Android, mediocre camera performance (especially at night), disappointing 4GLTE mobile data performance and only average screen.

The biggest disappointment was the camera. Daytime photography is good, however the AI is weak – especially at night. The camera appears to have a problem with white balance – especially at night and in the presence of strong blue-tinged lights (daylight bulbs, IPS screens etc).

The white balance suddenly shifts to lurid yellows which is very unpleasant. Tried photographing Halloween decorations and the results were very poor compared. Although the camera has 3 lenses, the performance overall is no better than my old Moto G7.

Mobile data (4GLTE) was also a disappointment – again, inferior to my older Moto G7. This could be a problem specific to my camera rather than a systematic issue with the model. Fortunately I primarily use wifi for data and making phone calls – here the Moto G Power works fine.

I will probably spend some time researching phones with 5G, FHD displays, the latest version of android and superior camera performance. Then retire the Moto G Power to backup phone status. The older Moto G7 was at the forefront of economy phones in features and value, but that was 3 years ago and the market has moved on.

Motorola has also moved on – I should’ve done more research but I was in a hurry to replace my dead phone. That said, the Moto G Power is a solid last-generation phone and the battery is excellent.

Initial impression is this is an improved device over the 6 series. Seems smoother, faster, and haven’t witnessed the thermal throttling as the 6 pro would do as of day one (not saying it doesn’t, just not noticeable so far).

Cameras and features in the app have improved enough to deserve saying there’s a definite feeling of upgrade there with the new zoom feeling like a world apart from the zoom experience on every other camera in a phone I’ve experienced (this is many also).

The feeling when holding and the appearance of the device is just more “premium” I believe is the term being used. To me it’s simply nicer in every way but screen and battery appear unchanged.

Wiell I pre ordered the Pixel 7 Pro on 10. 6. 22. I use my phone on Google Fi and got $100 off when I link my new phone to my Fi account. Security & the camera are the reasons for my upgrade. At 77 I get so many fake calls,SMS spam etc that Call Screen has saved me from a lot of grief.

Voice typing will help me communicate easier in this upgrade. I ordered the Hazel 7 Pro with 512 gigs of storage. Can’t wait!!!.

Obviously a day 1 review so instant impression couldn’t be better. Phone is extremely fast, googles syncing and password features were fasting than ever, screen is bright and beautiful. camera is the show stopper.

Here are the reasons I bought it: 1) Smaller than most phones (which have been getting bigger) 2) Removable battery 3) Gorilla glass to resist cracks and scratches because I don’t put screen protectors on my phones.

Check out the drop videos on youtube – this phone is very crack resistant compared to some cheaper motorolla phones without gorilla glass 4) Buying a phone from Tracfone instead of bringing your own unlocked phone enables some add-ons which were previously not available to me such as 365 days for 49.

99. 5) Very low price – so I can justify replacing this phone sooner instead of having to wait a few years and missing out on new Android features and also spend more money on a tablet instead 6) It seems to be possible to uninstall or disable all of the extra Tracfone/Samsung apps so battery life is excellent in standby mode.

Some minuses: No led notification light to indicate charge status or missed call/text – but there are a couple of features in its place. No ambient light sensor for auto brightness when you get caught in bright sunlight, however this is an LCD (not AMOLED) so this feature is not as essential (unless your brightness is already set to lowest) and there are workarounds such as the placement of the adjustment slider at the bottom and also apps in the play store to set brightness with a button on home page when “blind”.

I wish it was compatible with carriers other than Verizon (DL suffix instead of VL suffix in model name) but I couldn’t find another phone from Tracfone at this price with previously mentioned features.

Phone came upgraded to Android 9. I bought a “black OtterBox Symmetry for J3 2018 3rd gen” for it and a 32GB storage expansion sd card. Conclusion: I am happy that I could purchase this phone (on sale) for such an amazing price.

This phone is very easy to use and has a very user-friendly format. It is the lowest priced phone that has a quality build. The cheaper phones such as ZTE, LG Alcatel, and flipphones are glitchy and don’t run some apps very well.

I have found that this phone has no glitching and doesn’t lag when running apps. The reception on this phone is really good and it is able to catch Wi-fi signals amazingly well. For example, my laptop is not able to consistently pick up the Wifi signal in my apartment while the phone has no problem doing that.

The texture and design of the phone are very attractive and enjoyable for the user. The dimensions of the phone are just right for viewing videos and opening webpages without being too large to not fit in the pocket.

The phone also charges incredibly fast. It only takes 20 minutes for it to charge to 90%, and another 10 minutes to charge to 100%. Overall, I’m greatly pleased with this phone and recommend it to anyone who want a low-cost and easy-to-use device.

I was very happy with my TCL A1X that I had for a year. I eventually, reluctantly traded it in for an iPhone, because I needed to be able to use wifi-calling in the place where I was moving. Apparently TCL A1X are capable of wifi-calling in some regions, but not in others.

Wifi calling didn’t end up being compatible with my TCL A1X, which was confusing and disappointing because of persistently incomplete I information received from the Tracfone sales department. For the year that I used the TCL A1X and did not need wifi-calling, however, it was just what I wanted: calling, texting, taking basic photos, using some basic apps like Zoom, Venmo, voice recording, Gmail, Google Calendar, Maps, etc.

I frequently turn off data to reduce usage, and that was very easily done. The screen worked great, the typing worked beautifully, and it’s lightweight. Extraordinary what you can have in your pocket for such an affordable price.

As someone who has never used a smart phone until now, I would say this is a fairly good one. It depends on what your needs are. I just wanted a phone that is easy enough to learn to use. (My old flip phone was actually fine.

I just had to change it because the cell phone carriers were phasing out the 3G phones so my flip phone would no longer work by March 2022. I didn’t get another flip phone because the ones that were available didn’t have much to offer and were worse than my flip phone.

So basically I was “forced” into getting a smart phone. ) The iPhone SE seemed the easiest to use because of the home button. It was also smaller and more lightweight than the regular smart phones. I won’t give it 5 stars because comparing to my old flip phones the battery doesn’t last anywhere near as long.

It also doesn’t come with the charging adapter, just the cable, so you have to buy the charger separately. It is very cheap of Apple to make their phones like this. It doesn’t come with instructions either (another cheap move) so you will spend time googling stuff online if you have any questions about it.

I am not tech savvy at all so I did a lot of that the first 2 weeks. If you just want to talk, text, and take an occasional photo, this phone is okay for that. I found the video to be poor quality when uploading it to a computer but maybe I just can’t figure out the right setting for it.

That’s why I wish it came with detailed instructions. The iPhone SE is pretty good for a first smart phone and more affordable than the regular iPhone so I’ll give it that. But it is not for everyone.

My parents for example could never figure this out and would have to settle for what ever flip phone is available these days. I would actually give it 3. 5 stars if that was an option.

I got the SE 2020 after my iPhone 7 I owned for three years started acting strange and gave up on me. It took five months to get a new phone and when I got the iPhone SE 2020, I’m absolutely happy with it.

This thing is incredibly inexpensive and had a home button like my old 7 which is nice. I don’t mind the SE 2 not having 5G since that’s less of a concern to me. My 7 doesn’t have 5G either but I certainly don’t mind it since it has LTE which still gets the job done.

Battery life seems pretty decent to me too. The camera got a nice quality but then again, I’m really not much of a photographer and I rarely take photos with it. Not sure about gaming which I don’t play often unless I’m bored or if I have free time although I’m thinking getting a decent tablet for gaming.

And the best thing is that my SE 2020 is on MetroPCS which has decent and excellent service in my hometown whereas my iPhone 7, which is on AT&T, has very terrible signal; I could barely get any bars on it when I’m using my 7.

But when I’m out of the house and went to the park yesterday, my SE 2 got a pretty great service (it has like three or four bars) so that’s nice. The only issue is that I wish my SE 2 had 128GB of internal storage for reasons but other than that, the SE 2020 is a great phone.

It serves me well. I hope there’ll be more iPhones with home button in the future. Not everyone needs a $1k gigantic phone. (June 9, 2022).

Knocked 2 stars off (iPhone = 5 stars) because of the 3rd party conditions. The description is wrong for ‘includes:’ you do not get USB Power Adapter. You must buy USB-C Power Adapter separately ($20).

You do not get a lightning to USB cable. You get a Lightning to USB-C cable. Devices that you’re going to connect to or charge with must have a USB-C connection. If no USB-C connection, you must have or buy a USB-C to USB adapter ($20), or have a USB cable (slower charge) to then connect to your older USB-connection device.

Be warned, there’s a short time frame to activate for people w day jobs in order to qualify for the $140 promotion. Difficult to coordinate one’s schedule with their short availability of in-store personnel (3rd party/not Target) to activate the iPhone outside of Black Friday.

Call to see if person is scheduled/available in-store before you go outside of Black Friday. The iPhone itself is excellent. Because of the short time, difficult-to-find, qualified, few in-store personnel scheduled, I wouldn’t recommend unless you have the time in your schedule to meet their schedule.

You’re going to have to work for this deal.

I’m been using Google Pixel phones since version 3 and this 6a is a replacement for a Pixel 4 that decided to come unglued. That’s right – unglued. Google it. It’s a thing for the Pixel 4 phones. So I’m really hopeful that 2 years from now this phone will NOT suffer the same fate.

I’m an iPhone user, but my day job requires me to work with Android phones as well so I’m always flipping back and forth and the Pixel is the Android device I always come back to. One of the best features of this phone is that because it is made by Google, it runs pure Android, which means you don’t have to wait for an OEM (cough.

Samsung) to always get the latest versions of Android OS. In the two years I’ve used the Pixel 4 it’s never been more than 14 days behind the latest major version and monthly security patch version. So while Google continues to struggle with getting other OEMs to update the OS on Android this is never a problem with the Pixel phones.

If you need to always be running the latest Android OS like I do for my day job, Pixel phones should definitely be a purchase for you. Being used to the Pixel 4, the 6a’s almost full inch of extra screen space seems tiny on paper but looks amazing in person.

I’m a Fortnite player on Android and have been very impressed with how much better Fornite runs on the 6a compared with the 4 but the larger usable screen space for apps and games is the feature I notice the most.

The pinhole camera took some adjustment to get used to and I do like the fingerprint unlock. The form factor of the 6a is easy to hold for long gaming sessions being slightly more blocky (if that’s even a word) than the 4.

On the software front, Android continues to add innovative and useful features such as the new magic eraser feature for the camera where you can remove unwanted objects quickly as easily from the phone and the adaptive battery and extreme battery saver features do allow you to skip a day or two of remembering to plug the phone in to charge and with Android 13 around the corner, this Beta’s are already available for install on this phone.

Overall this is a solid Android device and so far the build quality is far superior to the previous Pixel devices.

If your phone is less than 2 years old, you may want to skip this as an upgrade. If you’re still rocking a Pixel3 or older, read on. The Pixel 6 series rocks Google’s new Tensor chip, their first attempt at an in house system on a chip (SOC).

While it works, there is definitely an early adopter tax going on. Many features such as the under the screen finger print sensor, live translation, or even system responsiveness are not on par with many other chips.

I found myself often going back to my Pixel 4a when I needed to get tasks done quickly and for my daily driver. Google did release a system update that helped with some of the issues, but I suspect that we won’t be getting full system performance out of the Tensor chip until Android 13 is released.

The phone itself is well built and feels good in the hand. I like not having the indent in the back of the case which means that any case I purchase for the phone no longer needs to have the cutout. Speaking of cutout , I do not like the position of the camera cutout on this phone.

Top center is prime real estate on the screen both in vertical and horizontal mode, and the camera clutters it up. The previous top left corner on the 4 and 5 felt less obtrusive and I found myself forgetting it was there most of the time.

Battery life is great on the Tensor chip, but I wonder how much of that will change once the chip is really unleashed. As it stands, even under moderate to heavy gaming, I was still getting a full day of use out of the phone.

Given that this still only includes an 18W charging port, this is critical, as you’ll likely be plugging this in over night and using the adaptive charge to keep your battery in tip top shape. As far as software/SoC features go, Google is touting magic eraser as their big new gimmick and honestly I wasn’t impressed.

Anyone that has used Photoshop has seen how digital erasing works and I found the results to be the same or less impressive than using a desktop. Unless what you’re erasing is surrounded by a surface with lots of random patterns, such as clouds, the pictures look very obviously edited, something that most desktop apps do better.

I also found that through copying the new photos app apk file to my Pixel 4a, I received the same results, so this is more of a software gimmick than a SoC feature. Speaking of photos, I really did not see an upgrade in visual quality on the 6a vs.

previous Pixel models. Yes, the 6a can do 240fps @ 1080p and 30fps @ 4k in video recording, but the picture quality itself is not much better. Pair this with the same 6GB of RAM as we’ve seen for many years and the fact that Google killed the headphone jack while the 5a retained it while also being water resistant and the used market is looking a lot better than the new market right now.

I would not recommend purchasing this phone or staying with Tracfone, especially if you live in a rural or any area serviced only by AT&T. Besides having some of the problems described in the other 1 & 2 star reviews here (Repeated Booting, Checkerboard Screens, etc.

), Tracfone was not able to activate this phone with our old TracFone telephone number that we have used for the last 5 years in our rural Texas area covered only by AT&T! The only reason I purchased this phone from TracFone was to replace our old TracFone LG51A which had started texting messages that it would not work after 2/22/2022! After spending over two weeks constantly phoning and chatting with Tracfone Customer Service Representatives (CSR’s) often giving conflicting and/or confusing advice, I had to return this phone (Samsung Galaxy A32).

Currently, I can’t use even my old Tracfone because they say they couldn’t reactivate it due to the phone number being a Verizon phone number???? Yes, the very same Tracfone phone number that has been working in an AT&T only coverage area for the past 5 years????? So now I’m without Tracfone Service, even though I paid around $125.

00 for an annual plan that was supposed to last to July 2022. The final straw was when talking with the last Tracfone CSR. The CSR said they could activate the Galaxy A32, but I would have to get a new phone number, however my current annual plan and minutes would not be carried over! I would also then have to purchase another Tracfone plan! I’ve been a Tracfone customer for over 20 years and never had any problems.

However, after this I guess I’ll go elsewhere.

This phone feels about right — nice screen, perfect size and decent camera. I’ve had S series and note series Samsung phones in the past but this time I wanted to give one of their A series a go and liked the clean lines of the A32.

AMOLED is important and so too regular updates but equally important is smooth operation and this is the one area where I think Samsung cheaped out a bit. The G80 is by no means a bad chip but it would have only cost Samsung a few dollars more to have used a Dimensity SOC and this phone would have been almost perfect for the money.

I am not devastated by the use of the G80 as it performs very well under most circumstances but with other manufactures using better silicon in cheaper phones I do wonder if this was a missed opportunity.

Regardless, I love the phone and have no regrets buying it. I bout the official Samsung S-View wallet case for it and it looks superb. There are some better value phones out there for the money but at the end of the day they are not Samsung and they certainly won’t be receiving the updates Samsung is promising for this device.

All in all I am happy.

I purchased a Galaxy A32 after my Pixel 3 stopped charging in Aug ’21. Every day I have owned this phone it has found a new way to irritate and vex me. -Fingerprint sensor is horrible. No, really, Samsung should be ashamed of this sensor, it is really, really bad.

-WiFi drops for no apparent reason. At first, I thought it was a weak signal issue but no, I can be standing right next to a wifi AP and the good old A32 will just drop the wifi connection and complain it will reconnect when “signal quality improves.

” Never had this issue with any Pixel or iPhone I’ve owned. -Caller volume on phone calls is a joke. I have excellent hearing but understanding what a caller is saying to me on the A32 is almost always impossible (unless I’m in a room that is dead silent).

As a result, I have to put most of my calls on speaker and I end up looking like a tool to anyone around me. -GPS is also horrible. I’m an avid cyclist and use the Ride With GPS app quite a bit. It was absolutely fine on my Pixel and iPhones but of course, the A32 drops the GPS signal during a ride for no apparent reason.

It also has the same connection dropped issues with Google maps when driving. – Phone randomly reboots. I first i thought it was performing OS updates but the reboots occur so often (once or twice a week) that I’m fairly certain that is not the case.

I don’t know what this crazy phone is doing. I’m going limp along with this Galaxy A32 for a few more months because I really don’t want to spend any more money. But I will be in the market for a new phone come the holidays.

The most bang for the buck ratio is impressive. This Motorola Edge (2021) is a giant step forward in features at a great price. What I was looking for and especially like about this phone is the 256 GB of internal memory.

It is unlikely that an SD card will be needed. However, an SD card slot/SD card capability should be included on a phone that retails for $700. 00. It strikes me as being an obligatory feature. And the absence of this expansion capability on the Motorola Edge (2021) is my least favorite thing about this phone.

The two newest phones from Motorola (the Moto G 5G and the Moto G 5G Stylus) have not made this same mistake and both come with SD card slots. In any case the onboard memory offered is a dramatic difference from the mere 32 GB on my old Moto Z Play! I always check and see whether a good premium quality case is available for any new phone that I am considering purchasing and in this regard the Motorola Edge (2021) also did not disappoint.

Two versions of the Otterbox Defender Case were available, and my new phone has been protected in one since I received it. A good case is really the best protection you can get, even better than a service/maintenance agreement.

It has only been a little over 3 weeks since I received and have been using this phone. So far, I am a happy camper. All software updates installed smoothly and without any problems, including the system update to Android 12.

I have not thoroughly tried out the camera yet, but the 108-megapixel main camera is unlikely to disappoint. The available camera feature set is more than I really need overall but it is nice to have it available.

Battery life is fantastic! I have consistently been getting 2 days or more of use so far and the phone charges from about 20% to 100% full charge in no more than one hour. Here is some up-to-date Android 12 info for Edge (2021) owners: According to the Lenovo User Forum online, all Motorola phones that originally shipped with Android 11 preinstalled (like the Edge 2021) will not have a “Camera Access Tile” in the new Quick Settings feature of Android 12.

If you are looking for it while swiping down from the top of your screen like I was, now you know why you will not be able to find it. I have no idea why it is not included (technical reason?) since it is a specified feature of Android 12 when you check online.

Bought the Edge 256GB for my daughter to replace her older Motoloa G6 for her birthday. I purchased it at Best Buy as an unlocked phone, using some built-up Rewards points, and activated it at T-Mobile.

The Edge is bigger than the G6 (by quite a bit), though still quite easy to handle and use (according to my daughter). The build quality appears to be excellent, at least as good as the G6 and comparable, as far as I can tell, with other “flagship” phones from higher-end makers.

While there’s been some carping on-line that the screen isn’t as advanced as newer Apples and Samsung phones, the screen image quality seems to be pretty good to both myself and my daughter, certainly better than her old G6 and the difference in price from the higher-end Apple and Samsung phones certainly helps as well.

Battery life is decent, though my daughter doesn’t game or stream on her phone much, but she hasn’t complained about it. We got it set up for service at a local T-Mobile shop simply because it was when my daughter was available to go in with me rather than trying to get it set up at our local Best Buy which is across town from us.

We’ve been Sprint customers and discovered that we had to go ahead and switch our entire account (two other phones along with this one) over to the T-Mobile network because of the network requirements, but it didn’t take long at all and, as I indicated, the phone seems to work well with the local T-Mobile 5G network in our area.

The price, while certainly higher than the G6 it replaces, is still about half of what an Apple or Samsung phone with comparable features would cost. Motorola is owned by Lenovo these days, but that’s kind of the way things are nowadays.

This is a fantastic phone and I think easily the best value for the sale price which as of this writing has dropped as low as $449. It is not a good value at the list price of $700. The 120hz screens are a delight and the Edge 21 feels extremely fast and fluid.

The CPU and RAM give it ample power to run multiple apps and games. The screen is an LCD, which is both better and worse than OLED. It is better in that it is crisper (no pentile matrix) and does not drain more battery when displaying mostly white screens like OLED.

There is no risk of screen burn in with this phone, so go ahead and use it for navigation all day long. However, the contrast rations are not as good as OLED so blacks can look dark grey. Viewing angles are pretty good, but the screen is so tall that the top and bottom can look dimmer than the middle in dark settings.

Overall, I have no complaints about the screen. Cameras are good too, although not as good as flagship phones like iPhone 13 Pro or Galaxy S21. However, this phone costs less than half of what those phones do.

It does not have optical image stabilization on any of its cameras, so that does hold it back a bit in low light, but overall for a $450 phone the images are fine. The phone is gorgous and I personally love the Nebula Blue color and the ‘glasstic’ look of the back.

Yes, it is plastic, but it looks fantastic, and the plastic helps keep the weight down. The phone is solid but light and a pleasure to carry even though it is physically quite large. The power-button fingerprint scanner works reliably.

Phone call quality is excellent. The single speaker gets loud enough. Moto gestures are fantastic, every phone should have them. Build quality is very good. Battery life is epic, easily lasting a full day of heavy use and often 2 days of light use.

It charges quickly as well. Motorola takes a light touch to Android, not putting heavy skins on it. This makes it similar to a Pixel in being clean and fast, and what Moto does put there just improves android, like the gestures.

Overall at the sale price I have no problem recommending this phone!.

I have long enjoyed Moto phones, and I recommend them to anyone switching to Android as a first device. I had the Moto play before I upgraded to a Pixel device, and I bought this Power 2022 once my Pixel’s battery deteriorated.

However, it’s been a hard adjustment. This device is very slow; I tap to open most apps, including Google apps like Mail or Maps, and I have to wait 2-3 seconds for the screen to switch over, and another second for the keyboard to appear.

It seems Motorola cheaped out on the processors for this version, and it’s painfully obvious. I wouldn’t recommend this device — my wife had the previous year’s Power and it works fine. Just stick to devices that feature better chips.

Also: the camera is supposedly better than my Pixel 3 XL’s, but because the phone is so slow, it takes too long to load it up and snap a pic. If you switch from the optimized resolution to max resolution (to get the better quality), the phone takes a full 2-3 seconds after snapping a pic to display the result or to allow another picture.

It’s awful as a camera phone. Also also: No NFC, so no touchless payments. I really enjoyed that about my previous device. I’m actually going to attempt to replace the battery in my Pixel to go back to using that.

I replaced my Moto G8 Power with this phone. The screen is a tad larger & MUCH brighter. This is a huge plus when working out in the sun as I do most days. However, even at it’s dimmest setting it nearly blinds me when using it at night.

Not a big problem but worth noting. Also, nearly ALL settings easily transferred from my prior phone. I did a number of chats with the Motorola support people during my decision process. They were always knowledgeable, responsive & helpful.

The battery is FANTASTIC & charges quickly via all my charging devices. I’ve been a user & fan of Motorola products for more than 50 years. The purchase of Motorola by Lenovo had me worried until my experience deciding on this phone.

That worry was unfounded. My only real complaint is this phone did not come with a silicone case cover as my prior several devices have. Thus, if you happen to like these as I do, you’ll need to spend $10 to get one.

The camera has excellent resolution, which is a bit problematic for me as the majority of pics I take are for CraigsList ads. Even in the lowest resolution setting the pics are far too large to efficiently post.

Again, not much of a problem as I tend to use an older camera to take those pics anyway.

After my 2020 model Power G started dying rapidly and a hard reboot didn’t help, I pre-ordered the 2022 model thinking it would be just as great as the one I had. Well, right out of the box I started having a faster battery drain than the 2020.

The apps were slow to load and the sound sucks. When I touch an app, I usually have to touch it twice to get it to recognize. The screen is larger, but it’s really not because it has a black frame around the whole screen which gives you less visibility.

It’s just plain stupid. I miss my old phone with it’s amazing, almost surround sound. Best Buy makes you sign something that states that if you return a newly purchased phone, they’ll charge you $45.

Now I understand why. If you choose the wrong phone, you’ve got to be willing to take the hit to return it. For a $200 phone, I decided to keep it. If I could have exchanged it for a brand new 2020 Power G, I would have in a heartbeat.

I honestly don’t know if I’ll buy another Motorola when this one dies. If I do, I am done with the Power G line.

This phone is a very nice phone but the release stock was rough as many people didn’t receive it on time due to supply issues which I understand but once it arrived I began to use this phone daily from second week of March I believe.

Display: The screen is amazing and pretty much most Samsung amoleds are these days. I have used the note 20 ultra and s21 ultra and this one is amazing in color reproduction, clarity and it’s very very bright just like those were.

Camera: the main camera is sharp and vibrant and packs a punch in various shooting situations, the wide angle is great in sharpness and color and has a pretty wide field of view. The telephoto 3x and 10x and great and I think best telephoto on any phone currently due to having both 3x and 10x optical giving more clarity at those zooms and further digital zooms.

The night mode is improved and pretty amazing. The night mode on Samsung phones were already amazing but wow it’s even better here. One of the best cameras I’ve used. If anyone is wondering though this camera vs iphone 13 pro max I would say this one is better due to the better overall.

Iphone 13 pro is amazing but this is even higher. Battery Life: The battery the past almost two months has been pretty good and easily gets me through my day considering that this phone does so much.

I do wish it to last a bit more though and maybe that’s asking too much haha. I have been spoiled a bit by the iphone 13 pro max which the battery lasted for days without a charge but this phone is way more feature packed than any iphone although I love iphone too.

45 watt charging is overdue upgrade and it’s fast enough to charge up while I get ready for work or when I’m about to go out so no issues there. Performance/Software: When the phone first released it was quite buggy the software.

To be frank it was jittery and stuttering all over the place but the March update fixed so many bugs and now the phone runs much smoother but there are still bugs here that hopefully Samsung will get rid of in the coming months because as of right now even though the phone is running nicely it’s not as smooth as last years s21 ultra or even the note 20 from 2020.

Hardware wise this phone is More powerful than both of the phones I just mentioned but so far the software bugs are my only real gripes so if someone is considering this phone I’d like to share my experience on that.

It’s just the overall 120hz doesn’t feel entirely smooth and Polished as it seems to drop down, along with some stutters in scrolling, and animations. Once everything is polished I will give it a five star.

Overall quite a nice phone just wish the software was polished out of box.

Great if you’re coming from an 11 or below. I upgraded from my 13 Pro Max as I do every year. Needless to say I am extremely underwhelmed and pretty dissatisfied with this years IPhone. My 13 pro max was better in almost every way, battery life being the major hit to me.

No heavy gaming, streaming etc just daily text, call email etc. avg 4 hours per day screen-time. My 13 lasted almost a day and a half at this rate; my 14, I find myself needing a charge before I’m even off from my shift at work.

The dynamic island is an over marketed, over hyped piece of useless software and does not function as cool as Apple made it appear. Always on display was fun for about 2 minutes setting it up, then immediately being turned always off because it’s way too bright and sucks power like you wouldn’t believe.

All of apples key selling points are all the keys reasons I dislike this phone. Always on is a nightmare, battery life is a joke, dynamic island is useless, crash detection goes off on roller coasters, the cameras have very very little upside differences, the brightness of the screen only lasts for a couple seconds until it auto dims to conserve energy.

I also feel like the overall build quality is lacking, I purchased the phone and the Apple leather case; this being the first time I’ve ever even used a case on my iPhone. My 13 lasted a year being dropped multiple times and didn’t even have a scratch.

I dropped my 14 face down on a flat floor with the Apple leather case and it chipped the front corner. If you are coming from the 13. Don’t bother upgrading. If your coming from a 12 or below, consider upgrading to the now discounted 13.

I’ve owned and used plethora of smartphones in the past 10 years such as the Galaxy S3, S5, S8+, S20FE 5G, iPhone 12 Pro and Galaxy Z Flip 3. However, my favorite phone till now was my Galaxy S8+. Unfortunately, the iPhone 12 Pro only lasted less than a year; it was one of the two most problematic phones I ever had within the past 2 years, where Apple technical support was involved.

I never had preordered a phone before and this was a first for many; also a first for costing way over $1000. Within hours of owning this device I was already recommending this to my friends, as my colleges and supervisor already ordered theirs.

Apple has outdone Samsung on this phone, even though it took them ages on getting certain features that were on my Galaxy S8+, but done so perfectly. The iPhone 14 Pro Max does feel more premium than the regular iPhone 12 Pro, and this device blows everything out the water in my opinion.

It just didn’t made sense to spend $1000+ on the Galaxy lineup when they only have internal storage and lacked expandable storage, and just didn’t feel as premium as a $1000+ device should be. Compared to the 12 Pro, this is very snappy and quick.

Display is way better. Camera definitely blows the 12 Pro out of the water when compared. The Dynamic Island just blends in perfectly unlike the notch of the 12 Pro (couldn’t watch anything in full screen).

Battery life is significant as it should last me more than the normal working day for me.

My old phone was an iPhone 6s Plus, so whatever new phone I purchased would be a considerable upgrade. The new iPhone 14 Pro did not disappoint! I am thrilled with the quality of materials used and the overall design, making for the perfect upgrade – and what an improvement it is over my old phone.

I am a hobby photographer so I was looking for a good camera in my new phone. I love the triple camera system with a 48MP main camera that can take photos and videos in ProRaw. I also like the additional telephoto and ultra wide lenses, although I use these less often.

The dynamic island is also a welcome improvement over the big notch that featured on older models. I like that it is interactive, although I believe Apple could have improved it further by making it even smaller, like on some of the phones from other companies.

Overall, I am highly satisfied with my purchase. However, if you have an iPhone 11 or newer, I would not recommend upgrading as all the changes since then have been incremental rather than major.
