20 Best Cellular Security Camera (2022 Updated)

Before I talk about this camera, I have to say that I love eufy products. If you haven’t heard of eufy, they are a division of Anker. Most people have heard of Anker because they make great chargers and power banks for powering cell phones, tablets, and other electronic devices.

Ever since eufy came out with their first wireless security camera in 2018, I have felt that they make the best security cameras that you can buy. I have 4 outdoor and 6 indoor eufy cameras protecting my home, and they are the only brand that I recommend to others.

However, this new 4G Starlight camera is a very unique product, so please make sure that you really need the capabilities it provides before you spend your money. The ONLY way that you can use this camera is by having an active 4G LTE SIM card installed.

It does not support WiFi, which I feel is a huge disadvantage to this camera. Arlo has a competing model called the Arlo Go 2, which supports both 4G LTE and WiFi connections. In this case only, I recommend the Arlo camera although the video quality is better on the eufy, because having the ability to use WiFi as an option is critical in my opinion.

The only situation in which the eufy camera makes sense is if you will be using it in a location where you have no WiFi signal, and you will never use it where you have a WiFi signal. I was hoping to add this camera to my existing ones and use it as a 5th outdoor camera for my home.

I only planned to use the 4G LTE connection when I’m traveling and want to monitor the location where I am at (Such as a hotel room or a cabin), or maybe use this camera to monitor a campsite. But because it will only work with an active SIM card, my uses for it are very limited.

I can only take advantage of this camera when I’m traveling. If you own a vacation home that is in a remote location where you can’t get regular Internet service, this camera would be perfect for monitoring your property.

You could even use this camera to monitor a storage unit that you rent, as long as you can get a cellular signal inside the unit. It has 8GB of internal storage and there is no way to save videos to the cloud.

So if the camera is ever stolen, the SIM card stops working, or the camera is damaged; you will not be able to access any videos that it has recorded. That is another big disadvantage to this camera in my opinion.

There should be some other way to retrieve the videos other than over a 4G LTE data connection that you have to pay for. If you do buy this camera and ever receive a motion alert that is important, I recommend using the eufy app to immediately save a copy of the video to your phone, so that you don’t lose the data in the event the camera is later stolen.

When I received the camera, there were 2 statements printed on the outside of the box that I felt are misleading: “Free – No monthly fee” and “No monthly fee – Review your recordings for free with 8GB of local storage.

No subscription required”. These statements are misleading because many people would read them and think the 4GB LTE data connection is free, which is not the case. You don’t have to pay eufy any additional fees or subscribe to anything to use the camera or access your videos, but of course you have to pay for the data connection.

I wish eufy would redesign this camera with 3 changes: (1) Add WiFi capability, so that this camera can be used like their other cameras when you don’t want to use the 4G LTE connection, (2) Support Apple HomeKit, so that your videos can be stored directly in the cloud if you wish, and (3) Include a microSD card slot, so you can store videos locally to a card that can be removed and read on a computer, without having to connect to the camera using a data plan to retrieve your videos.

Many eufy cameras already support Apple HomeKit (Including 2 of my 4 outdoor eufy cameras and all 6 of my indoor ones), so I know this is possible. And adding WiFi capability would make this camera better than the Arlo Go 2 in every respect.

But given the current limitations of this camera, I can only recommend it to someone who needs a security camera in a remote location where having a regular WiFi connection will never be a possibility.

I bought 6 of these on Black Friday and Im using them at some rural self storage facilities. Only had them out for about 3 weeks but they are working well so far. I aimed them at the entry gates so you can see every vehicle that enters and leaves.

They send me an email every time they detect motion. I set up a dedicated Gmail account for this purpose. The batteries are at about 65% capacity after 3 weeks, so they will last well over a month, maybe 2, between charges.

Image quality is fairly good but you wont be reading license plates. Nighttime vision is decent as well. The intercom speaker quality is not very good. I have not used it but I tested it in one direction before installing them.

I could make out the words coming out of the camera speaker, but the sound was very tinny and distorted. I have not tested the siren feature since I dont intend to use it. After putting out the first two cameras, both stopped communicating with the app after about a day.

I dont know why this happened, but the simultaneous situation suggests the problem was not with the individual cameras but with the app. I had to re-initialize both cameras from the start. It has not happened again so far.

I now have all 6 cameras running in the app and all are functioning correctly at this time. If this snafu happens again I will try to update my review. As far as normal operation goes, I am generally happy.

My two gripes so far are (1) communication between the Reolink app and the camera can be tenuous. It frequently takes 2-3 attempts for the app to connect to any camera, regardless of cell signal strength.

It can also lose the connection while viewing a live stream, requiring you to reconnect, which can take 30 sec or more. This is not a big deal during normal operation, but it can make initial set up frustrating.

(2) Once you have initialized the camera, it appears that the only way to change the name of the camera is to reset it and go through the entire initialization process over again. Since these cameras are designed to move around easily, it seems to me it should be easier to rename them as you move them around.

Reolink is based in Hong Kong and all customer support is handled by email and their hours are on Hong Kong time, so there is no real-time communication. They do respond to emails the next day, but its not ideal if youre dealing with a technical problem.

Their email English was broken, but their meaning was clear. The packaging and literature are slick design-wise but the English in the kit also is poor, although understandable. I am not using the cloud subscription that Reolink offers.

I bought 32 Gb SD cards at Walmart (2 for $11. 99). Since I get pics emailed to me in real time, i Dont really need video. Bud if I did want to see video on a rare occasion, I can retrieve the SD card and read it on my laptop.

I bought a 2 Tb/month data-only plan from T-Mobile. You cannot share a plan between cameras, so each requires its own 2 Tb plan. Each SIM card is $10/month on auto-pay ($15/mo if you dont set up auto-pay).

There is also an addition setup charge at the time of purchase. So far Ive only used about 0. 2 Tb, so I done think I will ever need more than the 2 Tb, but if I do, T-Mobile doesnt cut you off, it just throttles speed from 4G to 3G.

All in all these cameras are a good solution for my purpose. I just hope they will last a few years. If they dont, Ill try to report back about that.

This took me, a novice DIY, about 10 minutes to fit the actual units outside. Then I followed the quick start guide and it was on my phone within minutes. This was so simple, less than half an hour to provide security for my home and peace of mind.

The quality of the footage for both day and night are brilliant, and I can clearly see what is going on in the garden. I also got the solar panel with mine which I can see has already kept the battery charged.

I like that it is only activated by a PIR sensor, which is very quick to react, as it saves me watching hours and hours of footage! You can opt for a siren when it is activated and there are LED lights that clearly show the unit is active and recording.

You can watch live or playback from an SD card. I am so impressed that I hope to get another one for the front of the house now! I would 100% recommend this product and company.

I bought this camera for our horses field. It took very little time to get it all set up and working and I am now able to keep an eye on what’s happening there all the time. The fact that it includes an internet connection makes it great for areas where there is no wifi possibility and being connected to the solar panel means it can be set up anywhere.

I will not hesitate to purchase another one if the need arises. The live feed that you get is very high quality and I like that it also records when it picks up movement so you have proof if required.

This camera also has good quality night vision.

The camera comes with a vodaphone data card but you need to have a good vodaphone signal at the camera location and your mobile phone location. I had to buy an ee data card and once that was fitted the camera worked perfectly.

The solar panel has worked well even though sunshine has been scarce recently. The battery has varied between 45% and 85% so no need to charge it all so far, about 2 months.

I like this Reolink Argus (old version) more than the new version. Although the new version has battery included with the camera, it does not have the magnetic attachment the old version has on the bottom.

The old version is for that reason a better version in my opinion. I retrofit the old version with rechargeable batteries and that makes almost the same function as the new version, but the magnetic portion built in the camera is a very convenient feature.

On the other hand, believe or not I found the old version more responsive than the new one.

Pretty impressive camera have had this for about 7months or so. Best when paired with the reolink solar panel so you dont need to worry about charging it when direct sunlight will provide charge to the solar panel which charges the camera.

I use this camera around the chicken run and the 360 degree feature allows me to see where my chooks are but also pan/tilt around to see around the coop especially during the night as this camera also has night vision as well.

The camera takes a Micro SD card and with enough storage you can record as much as you want (does not record continuously ). Motion detection is good, easy installation and overall a good camera. Only complaint i have about this camera is the connection even though it is connected to my wifi extender which is in close range.

At times the camera will fail to load and this happens to my other wireless reolink cameras aswell , this issue can remain for while however , regardless of this i still recommend the camera.

Serving the purpose it’s mainly intended for. Would like if it had a longer distance for motion triggering, and for our purposes I’d prefer the red lights to be invisible at night

Good video quality. Sensitive motion detect. But, the cloud storage connection is a bit slow.

You won’t be dissappointed with the Reolink Augus Pro Wire-Free security camera with spotlight as it is such a good device. Initially I was looking for a smart door bell but found out this camera could do that function as well as so much more! The notifications you receive on your phone are receive really fast & I haven’t yet received any false notifications.

Two way audio perfect! The spotlight is a great feature & really lights up the area being monitored. I have removed a useless solar light that I was using to provide better lighting for night time visitors in the camera monitoring area as it is no longer needed.

Although it is promoted as wire free, for peace of mind I have wired it up to a USB charger & found the battety dosn’t ever fall below 98%.

This is by far the best cellular camera available. I’ve tried the Arlo and several brands of trail cameras and this one exceeds all of them. Reception is excellent even in areas where phones will not work.

Solar charging is great. The Pan and Tilt make this camera so awesome. Motion detection is excellent. The app is easy yo use. The time lapse feature is fun and useful. Both color and infrared night vision work good.

Cloud storage option is well worth the subscription. Video capture on motion makes it invaluable for wildlife detection. I recommend an after market cellular omnidirectional antenna for very poor reception areas.

We purchased a cell signal tester and the cheap ones work better than the expensive ones. If you have trouble firing it up with a nano SIM card don’t give up. It’s a process of learning how to install an apn file in the nano SD card but once you figure it out it puts the competition to shame.

We have tried nearly every cell provider and settled on Mint Mobile. Our area works best on a GSM cell protocol. GSM is the protocol that AT&T and T-Mobile use but all unlocked providers also use the GSM protocol.

Verizon is the only odd ball cell protocol out there. Don’t expect to just stick in a nano SIM and fire it up. You will have to install an apn file into the nano SD before firing up the camera. Support can help online but just look up how to put an apn file in the SD card and your up and running.

The area that we are running these cameras in is such bad reception that you are completely dead on your phone. By the way the aftermarket antenna height makes absolutely no difference during testing with all antennas.

I hope one day Reolink will add a motion detection sensor that when it detects motion it will auto pan and tilt the camera to track it. Keep up the great work Reolink. Your an idiot if you go buy a cellular trail camera after reading this review.

This camera was recommended to me by a family member. I got 2! Very easy to set up. Clear images at night, I get a notification as soon as there is activity. Works by detecting a moving object (car or person) as well as a change in pixels on the screen so double accuracy.

I can talk, turn on an alarm, turn on a powerful spotlight. All from my phone! It hardly uses any battery power. I’ve had it in use for two weeks and haven’t had to charge it. I have a 64gb micro SD card and the videos overwrite when it’s full.

Which will be ages away.

Camera worked great for 15 months then the solar panel stopped being able to keep it charged. Since it is in a remote location this makes it useless until I can drive 300 miles, get out the ladder, get up on the roof and charge the battery.

Then a few weeks later repeat.

I just tried to order one and Im absolutely happy with the camera. Its so easy to set up and work great. Only 1 notice point inconvenience that the battery is exactly last long for 3 months, and you need to recharge it.

But, Im still like it.

I bought the Argus 2 after trying the Swann wire-free cameras which were around 30% more expensive and I couldn’t be happier with it. In fact, I’ve just purchased a second one. The picture quality is great at night and day and the motion sensor is also pretty good.

Still a bit laggy on the motion sensor so you miss the first few seconds, but the swann version barely ever picked up movement in the yard. The lag is about 1 second on the low definition and 2-3 seconds on HD, which is far better than the 10-15 second delay on the Swann cameras.

Also, the 2-way audio works great, the sounds are loud and clear. The Swann version was barely audible. Setup was quick and easy and the options for the bracket are great. I’d recommend using your own screws for the bracket though, I threaded the provided screws straight away which was annoying but I wasn’t being very careful.

As I said, I liked this so much that I’ve ordered a second one already, so I would definitely recommend this product.

It looks good quality, it is heavy. It covers a good area and during the day the image is excellent in 1080p, good colors. What has disappointed me is the poor night lighting or its low sensitivity to capture in the dark.

You have to put it in an area with medium to good lighting at night. I also bought the Argus Eco and it has much better night vision. And even better the Argus Lumus. But hey, I already bought it and I will have to locate it where I can take the good of the camera.

The Argus 2 camera is excellent. I didn’t want to have all the faffing about with hard wiring a camera or running cables through windows etc so did a lot of research on wireless, rechargeable products.

I am so glad I finally made the purchase. It is very easy to set up with a mobile phone and has very clear instructions. Further concise and useful help and support is available on the Reolink website.

I initially bought one camera for the back of my property but was so impressed with this device that I bought another one for the front. While I found the battery life to be good, I went ahead and purchased 2 solar panels for the cameras.

I have no negative comments at all to make on the Reolink cameras. I installed them more as a visual deterrent rather than a full blown security system and they provide me with a good level of security with which I am more than satisfied.

I have positioned the cameras at a height which requires me to go up a stepladder (no problem) and hopefully no-one will be tall enough to just unscrew it.

I think that I probably read every review of wireless cameras that are on the market out there. I chose the reolink because of ease of setup ease of use and quality. I have to say that I am almost completely satisfied with my purchase.

First off let’s go with the completely. extremely easy to set up, use, register, view from your phone with notifications. So if somebody walks into your yard you are instantaneously notified. I was extremely impressed with the speed that that happens with seeing that I do not have the best Wi-Fi.

Contacted customer support for one question and was treated like a first class passenger very impressive. My only complaint?? I live in South Florida and I have what I consider an extremely nice yard that has a lot ie.

very tall Landscaping IE palm trees palm fronds and various other tall fauna. On most days it is not a problem but on very windy days. I got a lot of false signals thinking that somebody is in my backyard.

I’m sure that I can’t be the only person with this problem. So I would think that adjusting the algorithms for the outside setting would solve this. And from what I’ve dealt with with this company I’m sure it will be handled soon.

This makes my wife and daughter feel so much more secure I couldn’t be happier!!.

The first camera I bought was back in May. I was in two minds as to this one or the Arlo pro. This being half the price I opted for this one to test before buying more. I must say Im extremely happy with Reolink.

As such I have recently purchased another 3 cameras. The battery lasts about 3 months even when Being used constantly. The picture quality is excellent and the software on the app is easy to use. All in all a fantastic product at a very good price.

I have no regrets at all about the purchases I have made with Reolink. I will be buying another 2 cameras in the near future. I would recommend that if you buy one or more of these cameras then also purchase a good quality high powered battery bank.

I bought the one by Ravpower. Because it can be a hassle getting up to the camera. Taking it down and putting it on charge. Which could take quite a few hours when almost empty. Now I just plug the battery bank into the camera and forget it for the day.

then when the camera is fully charged just disconnect from the power bank. Other than taking quite a while to charge I cant fault this camera in any way.

I’ve had nothing but problems, since the day I received the first V150 (which tells you I’ve already had more than one). When the first unit was received, I didn’t have time to go through the full setup…so, in the meantime, I installed the mounting bracket where I intended, and attached the camera.

Unfortunately, I ended up having to go out-of-town on business for a few days, and it was during that time that a torrential multi-day storm came crashing down on Northern California. By the time I returned home, and waiting a few additional days for the storm to end, the camera’s housing ended up having water inside it.

Vosker states a IP65 rating, which, as defined, means “partial protection against dust that may harm equipment” (the ‘6’), and “protection against low-pressure jets (6. 3mm) of directed water from any angle (limited ingress permitted with no harmful effects” (the ‘5’).

I will concede that the storm we endured was far greater than what would normally be expected in Northern California…but, at the same time, I wouldn’t have expected water to actually get inside the housing.

Moving onto the second problem, I contacted someone at Vosker, to inquire about what was needing top be done. For the purpose of this review, I am not allowed to go into details…but, I can state that dealing with this situation took far longer than it should have, and more than a couple emails never received replies until I pressed further.

In the end, it took almost a month to receive a replacement unit, which I still haven’t installed…due to the next problem. After another ultra-busy week, I was finally able to get the camera activated, and set up within the app.

Activating the camera was simple enough. However, after getting the camera activated, I started going through the process of changing settings. One particular setting (honestly, I forget which) required the app to be restarted.

However, after shutting down the app (to be certain, I force-closed it before reopening it), and reopening it, I discovered that the app had logged me out, requiring me to log back in. Thankfully, I use a password manager, thus making entering my login info problem-free…except that the app refused to log me back in.

it gave me some error message about having difficulties communicating with the server. With other products, the user would have been informed (at least in-general) what the problem was, be it “login info incorrect”, or “server is down”, or “server is undergoing maintenance”, etc.

the Vosker app, on the other hand, provided NO information, so I had (and still have) no clue as to why I couldn’t log in. if it was a server matter, I would have expected it to be corrected within a few hours, or (at the latest) by the following day.

Here I am, two days later, still having the same problem. As such, the app, and the camera, are COMPLETELY USELESS. FINAL VERDICT: Based on my experiences so far, not only would I HIGHLY recommend avoiding purchasing the Vosker V150, I will go so far as to suggest avoiding ALL Vosker products.

If I could return this, and get my money back, I would. However, since I received the product free, for the purpose of reviewing the product, I am unable to do so. Even worse, I will still have to pay the taxes on a product that is unusable.

Again, AVOID PURCHASING AT ALL COSTS. Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product. Nevertheless, the above review, be it positive, negative, or anywhere in-between, is a 100% honest review, and the price paid played absolutely no part in my review.

Pros: + Truly wireless mount-it-anywhere security camera solution + Built-in solar panel provides virtually no battery maintenance + Picture resolution is decent, especially when HD photo is requested + Photo capture of people, cars and animals are pretty spot on + Yes, a Web App Login if you want to access photos on PC + Can set a daily on/off schedule (very basic, though) + Customer support is very helpful Cons: – Requires a monthly (or yearly) paid plan, per camera – HD photo allowance based on monthly plan chosen – Cell signal quality may not be strong or existent – Notifications are a bit delayed – Picture color quality reminds me of a vintage Polaroid – No video recordings The Vosker V150 is my first go at a truly wireless surveillance camera solution in that it uses 4G LTE as a means of providing photo notifications.

With the built-in solar panel, it’s truly a set-it-and-forget-it, mount-it-anywhere security camera. Speaking of its camera, this unit is only capable of taking photos and not video. Probably due to the combination of preserving battery life and the amount of data allotted for the monthly service, if I had to guess.

Photo captures are quite surprising and consistently good, with the only exception of the color production that seems to take cues from an old Polaroid picture. To keep this camera operating for its intended purpose, you will require a data plan.

If you forego the data plan, you will be able to use the camera with the included SD card, but you’ll have to remove the SD card to access the photos. There are three data plans to choose from (Elite, Alerted, Basic) and each has their own ## day history (30, 15, 7), ## photos a month (unlimited, 1000, 500) and finally an HD photo allowance (40, 20, 10).

The HD photos are there if you decide you need a higher resolution of an already taken photo. By default, lower resolution photos are uploaded to you; if you do need the higher rez photo, you make a request via the app/webapp to retrieve the HD photo.

I think this in turn will ping the V150 to upload the higher resolution photo that is already stored in the SD card, and finally make its way to you. It’s all about the data plan and what kind of agreement Vosker has with its 4G LTE provider (I think AT&T based on my conversation with Vosker CS) and what costs are being passed on to you.

If this is advertised as a feature, I am not a fan of it at all. Finally, it’s all about use-case scenarios (job sites, remote areas, very large property lot, etc). This camera has the unique ability to be mounted anywhere as long as there is sunlight and a cell tower nearby.

The app shows 4 out of 5 bars where I have it mounted, and in some cases 2 out of 5, but it was still able to successfully get my events to me. Battery life is actually very, very good for my particular purpose (no more than 200 events happening in a day, to be honest).

The battery just holds at 100% and hasn’t dipped. I even tried mounting it under a shaded area out of direct sunlight and the camera was still able to keep a full charge, so it really doesn’t take much to get the solar panel going.

For every new V150 you buy, you’re going to need to get another data plan, so these things can add up very quickly up front, as well as long term. Just something to think about if you’re considering standing up an array of these guys.

The V150 comes with a mount, internal battery, SD card, activated SIM card and a USB cable.

Based on your use case this camera can either be great or just average. If you have a small yard or monitoring close to your wifi connection than there are better options out there. Now if you have a lot of land or need to monitor some place where there is no wifi or low wifi connection than this could be what you’re looking for.

I could definitely see how this could benefit property owners trying to monitor areas where their wifi won’t reach. Whether it be a business owner or a land owner wanting to monitor areas far outside their wifi zone this works pretty good since it uses cellular (cellular signal strength can be seen in the app) vs wifi.

I can easily see how a business owner may want to monitor their parking lot or maybe an area prone to vandalism/theft without having to pay a massive expense in paying for lines to be ran. The unit does look and feel like it is a quality product, but time will tell.

The setup is easy, and I personally liked the app. Scheduling could be improved but that’s a small con. Picture quality during the day was very good. I highly recommend charging the unit (takes roughly half a day) before mounting – especially if in a hard to get to area.

It did come with a small microSD card and I recommend getting one with more GB’s since they are so cheap now. Since this is solar powered you’ll want to be cognitive of where you place it. If placed in a shaded area or under leaved branches the battery will run down faster and if placed in a hard to reach area – it’s not going to be fun having to retrieve and recharge regularly.

The app does a great job here of letting you know how much battery life you have remaining. I also don’t recommend putting it in a high traffic area as that seemed to drain the battery much quicker during my testing.

Night pictures were okay based on amount of light in the area. For example pointing at my driveway where I have 2 exterior lights produced a decent night picture. However when I tested it in my back yard with no lighting the pictures were average at best but most cameras struggle with good night pictures with low to no lighting.

Overall I was pleased with the ease of setup, app, and overall quality. Pros: • Easy to setup • App was very user intuitive and had a great number of features compared to other apps • Solar powered so no wired to run – great for areas far from your actual property • Cellular connection (can be a con if there is no cellular service in your area) • Daytime picture quality was good • MicroSD card where you can view pictures without contract Neutral: Subscription to view photos via app – but you are getting cloud service and they do offer different price options based on need.

Cons: • More scheduling options in the app could be beneficial • Picture quality at night in low/no light areas are average and hard to make out sometimes.

We had no issues with Ring, but the Arlo technology is just better as of the writing of this review. The resolution is better (1440p vs 1080p) and the ability to differentiate between a person, animal, vehicle, or other movement is huge.

When I get a notification, that extra tidbit is the first thing I look for, especially at night. If there is a person lurking about, I want to know that immediately. That one feature distinguishes this camera from Ring in my book.

The battery life lasts 4-5 weeks, even with moderate motion triggers. And recharging is very quick. So we just take one down at a time and recharge during times of day when it is more convenient to be without coverage for a short period.

One last note: as with any wireless camera system, good wireless coverage is essential. The further away from a good connection it is, the longer it will take to connect and give you a notification. If there is a situation that needs your immediate attention, seconds count.

If you are putting a camera in an area with lower wifi coverage, I would recommend having a mesh router system or wireless access point nearby to be sure you have sufficient coverage. That is not an issue with Arlo.

That is an issue with all wireless camera systems. The wifi received on this camera system is very good. I have camera on the outside of the opposite end of the house from my router in a single story 2100 sq ft brick home and got a good signal.

I added a mesh router close to the camera to ensure a good signal just to be safe. This camera system is excellent. You will not go wrong with it. I highly recommend it.

I’ll start by saying I got 3 of these and a hub, the version I got had the larger XL extended life batteries in the cams then got the solar panel chargers. This is to help you decide if Arlo’s are for you.

The battery life is nowhere near what they say. Even with the larger batteries it seems about 20 motion events a day will drain it 2-3% each day. That’s only a month without removing and recharging. These smaller battery cams even less before taking down and recharge.

The other 2 cams get about 5 motion detects per day and last more than a month without recharge. Trying to use these to constantly watch video drains them in a few days. I could only get that done on Apple Home app on my Ipad, via the hub which is supposed to help conserve batteries.

You don’t want to get these to try to watch constant video. Also selecting only “people” and “vehicles” in the settings for alerts helps or there are too many alerts and battery drain. The detection alerts are fairly accurate and timely.

Similar to a ring doorbell. The video quality is good also. Also similar to a ring doorbell the first several seconds of motion are cut so you might miss a person walking past it unless they stop. The included cement or stucco wall anchors are [email protected]

Too hard plastic with too small hole and not enough grabbing ribs. You’ll tend to round out the screw head or spin them before getting them to work. If you’re doing that type of mounting buy others before beginning project.

The solar panels work well, I’m getting up to 6% recharge in a day with them so it’s worth having those or usb hardwired option because recharging them isn’t practical unless in an area with very little motion.

To summarize I might skip the hub, and if you get it you might accidently bypass it during installation if you wifi pair to the cams. I don’t know that it does much good. You’ll want to get a solar or hassle with usb wiring option.

Also you’ll need a monthly subscription at $10 or sale or ID. me of $7. 50 a month to get the notifications like the whole reason you bought this.

I’ll start with what I did not like about the Arlo Pro 4: 1. Video resolution. While it was good about capturing vehicles, it was bad for detailed information such as reading license plates or reading information of Company owned vehicles even when set in the HDR mode.

2. Filters would only filter “Saved” videos. Eg. Filter Animals. The camera will still recognize an animal, capture it on video and send a notification to your phone/computer. The videos were just filtered from automatically showing up in your library.

As you can see I did give it a 4 Star rating as it worked pretty much flawlessly for the 3 months we were away from our home. It was good about recognizing people from vehicles from animals. One of the cameras shut down when it lost internet connection but came back up later.

I liked the night time capturing with the infrared mode. The camera will allow you to light up moving item at night so that you can see the subject in color. Personally I didn’t want the subjects to know that they were being watch.

The tracking feature was okay and it was extremely easy to set up from physically mounting it around our home to connecting electronically to our internet. While it didn’t become an issue, had there been a threat to our home we would not have been able to identify a vehicle from any text located on the vehicle and this would have been very upsetting had it happened.
