11 Best Central Vac Hose (2022 Updated)

This hose did not have the swivel cuff as specified. I bought this as a replacement for my automatic pool vacuum but the hose kept getting tangled up as the vacuum traveled along the pool bottom causing the vacuum to stop and flip over.

The hose seems sturdy enough but should state that it has a standard cuff. The price was reasonable enough so I kept it to use for straight vacuuming.

I’ve purchased this hose several times in the past and have been happy with the quality. However, i just ordered a new one and Haviland packed a 1 1/2′ hose in a box labeled 1 1/4″. Thinking it was a mistake I returned it and ordered another one.

You guessed it. same mistake. Neither box showed signs of being opened and resealed. This a good product but I can’t seem to get the proper size. After 2 hoses and a total of 4 trips to pick up and then return, I give up.

I Had a tough time finding hose adapters to fit this to my 18′ above ground pool. Should of ordered shorter hose this one is hard to handle getting in and out of pool and could of used a 16 foot since it attaches to a long handle.

Good OEM replacement hose. They also did a good job installing sock by securing it well on both ends.

This vacuum hose came broken. The sales woman told me that she was going to check with the company and get right back to me. Still haven’t heard from anybody…

The built in handle switch is convenient though it requires the correct wall connector and proper alignment (our older model did not have this). Hose is not wire-reinforced, so it can kink relatively easily (like if pulled around a corner too tightly, or pulled against its natural coiled shape) – i.

e. , proven to be NOT “crush-proof”. Also, this hose tends to want to keep its coiled shape and requires some effort to un-coil to more easily use at full length. The plastic of the hose is ‘slippery’ so that it wants to slide out of its coil shape when hanging on its rack.

I really like this hose. The handle makes it easier to hold in a more natural position to vacuum. It feels different and is lighter weight than my original hose, but that makes it easier to carry. It is a very tight fit into my outlet, but while it makes it hard to manager where the outlet is behind a chair, it gives better suction.

The only negative I have to say about it is that the handle came disassembled and we had to try to assemble it with no instructions. I eventually figured it out, but it does not stay on unless, as I did, one runs a length of tape around it to keep it from separating.

Once I did this, I have no complaints.

They don’t make hoses like they used to but this one seems like ,if you are carefull, will hold up for a while. It fit my existing vacuum fittings well I bought it to replace a Hayden hose that had gone bad.

I won’t be pulling very hard on it and will watch for snags so I expect it will hold up well. It seems like no one makes those old bulletproof hoses anymore from 50 years ago.

I specifically ordered this hose because it stated it had an on/off switch so, you didn’t need to remove the hose from the outlet in order to turn it off. Well, that isn’t true. The on/off switch doesn’t work.

I still have to remove the hose from the port. I paid extra to get this feature and am very disappointed that it doesn’t work. I could have saved $15 by purchasing the basic 35′ hose.

I have bought two of these hoses. One for my sister, to replace the 35 yr old hose she had before. When I saw what a great hose it was, I ordered one for myself so I don’t have to carry a hose up and down the stairs, this one will stay on the lower level.

It is very economical, lightweight, durable and functional. I am very happy.

The metal hose at the handle is not quite correct for my pre-owned beater brush. The fit is a little too loose and the pin isn’t quite tall enough. These two factors make the handle slip out all the time when vacuuming, I had to put the metal female hose in a vise to shrink the diameter a bit to make it work.

I have had many rigid shop vacs over the years that were all different sizes. It was time for a new one and I had to have the battery powered one. I was nervous that it would not have the power that the corded ones do.

I was relieved the first time I used it. I do operate it with both batteries just to ensure it is ready when I need it. I have mostly used it for dry wall dust after prepping houses for paint, but it comes in handy everywhere.

It is so nice to be able to just grab it and take it out to the car to clean up after my three year old. I have been doing it every other day just because I can. There were a lot of reviews about having to spend more money for the batteries, etc.

Yes it doesn’t come with the batteries and in the end it cost double if you get two of the best batteries with a charger, but you get what you pay for with Rigid. If you are just looking for something to rarely use in the garage buy a regular corded shop vac.

If you are in the trades invest in this. It is faster and easier to use. No more extension cords in new builds, etc. etc. This is money! I’m already looking to buy my brother one.

I’ve been using the vacuum for about three months now and it’s been awesome. I originally not a pancake 3. 5 HP one and this one is way more powerful. I really do like that it’s battery operated. Run time is okay.

I only use it for shop cleanup and wood working. I’ve attached it to my Ridgid orbital sander and it doesn’t seem to pick up all that much more than just the bag but you can’t tell there is any dust unless you run your hand on the work piece.

The two big complaints would be size I would like it to be more compact/boxy so it fits nicely in my work place. It just kinda floats because I haven’t found a place that it fills up nicely. Second I would like it to be hybrid between battery and corded.

Overall I would definitely recommend it as long as you have some 4ah batteries on hand.

I was looking to purchase a cordless vacuum, and did not even know that Ridgid made one. I was looking at other brands such as Milwaukee and Ryobi, but they did not seem to fit what I was looking for.

I saw the Ridgid vacuum just by chance in the store and I bought it. The pluses are that I already had the Ridgid batteries for my other tools, it is able to use 2 batteries for longer run time, and it is able to pick up wet as well as dry items.

It’s great for cleaning out my car in the driveway, and not having to try to pull the car close to an outlet near the house to use a regular vacuum. The power of the suction is not the strongest that I have ever used, but I did not expect it to be from a battery operated unit.

Still, the suction is strong enough to get the job done!.

Great product! Easy assembly, great suction power, and freedom of cordless! Picks up small pebbles that my 16 gallon can’t. I have two 6ah batteries and I get a little over 45 minutes of use. Unfortunately, when I tried to get the 8ah batteries, I could not find them anywhere! I need the long life because my back yard is wooden decking and brick.

I would have scored five stars if I was able to purchase what I needed. I went with the 6ahs because I could not wait. My daughter’s wedding reception was that weekend! I sure wish I could return the two 6ah for two 8ah.

I hope customer care can accommodate my request. I will write another review on what happens next!.

I bought this a few months ago, to empty the water out of our hot tub. For that purpose, I bought the VF7000 wet filter. Changing the filter was easy. Changing back to the supplied filter was a little harder.

Getting the seal wet seems to make removal a little harder. Emptying the unit of water can be done with the drain plug, I believe. I never used this feature, resorting to unclamping the top and dumping the contents.

That worked fine for my purposes. The hose and attachments are simple to use. I found them sizeable, and not altogether small enough sized for my hands, which are large. A handle smaller than the hose size would be helpful.

Because the suction is so powerful, I had to step on loose carpets at the same time as vacuuming. Having the attachments made with a bristle or corrugated edges might help this aspect, which currently makes it kind of hard to use for those carpets, as I don’t usually vacuum with my feet straddling what I am cleaning.

I was picking up drywall bits. The filter clogged up substantially really quickly. It didn’t seem to affect suction, but it made emptying the unit dustier than I expected. I used another vacuum to suck the dust out from between the pleats.

I have not ever had to do that with my other vacuum systems. Storage of the hose ends on the caster feet is easy. I am left wondering if it will eventually cause me to nibble the end of the rigid tubing, because it only holds the very end.

Storing the wire can be done around the handle. I have not used that feature, because it appears it would cause the wire to interfere with my grip on the unit. The cord is long, which means you don’t need an extension when you are close enough to an outlet.

The cord is not self-retracting.

Pleased with the new (economically priced spare). It appears that this item comes with a slightly greater diameter fixture than the original which accepts the tools connector. Easily fixed with duct tape (where would we be without it) wrapped around the cylindrical tool connector.

You get what you pay for.

I was a little concerned when I read the reviews says that the hose they received was thin and squashy. The hose I was sent was thick and slightly longer than my original hose. It works really well and I am very satisfied.

What I love about this hose is that it is 10ft long and I especially love how shorter the hose ends are than RIDGID vac hose ends. It also fit perfectly for my RIDGID WD1270 vac and my RIDGID WD12450 but with the use of a red tab hose adapter for that particular model.

This hose kit is so great I decided to get another to have hung in case I need 10 more feet of hose when Im vacuuming out the cars on the weekends.

This thing is actually better than what it is replacing. The connector for the machine works well and the hose is lighter and more maneuverable. No question this was an excellent purchase for the money.

No Aerus dealer would match this for the price.

The connection on my Craftsman vac has a fitting that is specific to the Craftsman hose, so this works only as an extension hose, as long as you use a section of the rigid hose in between. you cannot connect it directly to the vac nor can you connect it directly to the end of the original hose.

Also, since this hose is a small diameter, the original attachments will not fit, so you’ll need to buy new ones if you want to use attachments. This is not a complaint, just an observation. It does what I need it to do.

allows me to put the vac outside while I vacuum up the ash from my wood stove so that the fine ash does not spew out into my home.

The tube is actually 1. 25″ but the male end is reduced to 1. 219″ I assume this was done to allow for easy insertion into the accessories. It does just that. However, the length of the reduced portion of the tube is long enough that the tube bottoms out in the accessories before they are fully seated.

This is great if you don’t mind your accessories falling off as you try to use them. As I hate sending stuff back when a fix is at hand, I simply cut 0. 5″ off the male end. Problem solved. Seeing as I shouldn’t have to ‘make stuff work’, a 3 star rate is the best I can do.

If you’re not willing to cut the tube, save your time and money.

This is a perfect replacement hose for those of us that accidentally have run over the original hose after leaving it laying on the floor the last time that we used the vacuum. I read a lot of reviews to try and make sure that the hose would fit my older Shop-Vac brand vacuum and never really could decide if the hose would fit, but I decided to take a chance on this one.

This hose fit my older Shop-Vac vacuum just like it should and with the number of adapters that it has I would guess that it most likely will fit your vacuum regardless of brand. Cons:The biggest con to this hose is that it is probably the minimum length that most would find acceptable.

Pros: It works and will probably fit most vacuums due to all of the adapters that it comes with and it is a good quality hose.

It fit perfectly into my shop vac. Right out of the box. No problems. Used it right away and had no problems. Glad I bought it. This will get a lot of use. As my wife and I are redoing our home. Bedrooms mostly and this will hook right up to my sander I have for doing our wooden floors.

I like this hose because it does not collapse during high suction when the tool gets stopped up. Another thing I like is that the hose is not too stiff and will easily wrap around the shop vac for storage.

It is light weight but won’t kink under normal use. For such a large diameter hose, it is easy to handle and dramatically improved the performance of my 10 gallon 6. 5 peak hp Shop Vac. I purchased a full compliment of accessories to use with this hose and found them to be more rugged and more of what I expected from a Shop Vac The hose came with 2 fittings for the end of the hose and instructions for selecting and installing the right one for my Shop Vac.

Actually, I didn’t need the instructions. It was pretty easy to do.

I have owned my one gallon shot back for close to 15 years. I have always wanted a long extension hose. This hose allows me to work all 4 doors and areas of the car without having to Constantly move the base around.

Quality is good, the price is right, and the fit is perfect. I would buy this product a 2nd time in a heart beat.

I’m not really a dumpster diver but someone threw away a perfectly good 20 gallon Dewalt Shop vac in our dumpster at work. Pulled it out plugged it in and all it needed was a hose. A few well spent bucks on this hose and I had a $300 shop vac that I don’t use and takes up space in my garage but my little five gallon one fits inside nicely.

Very flexible. I wish it had been a bit thinner (smaller outside diameter). The 5/16” hose goes over a 3/8” barb fitting with no problem.

This vacuum hose allowed me to locate a vacuum pump at the rear of my car. Worked perfectly!
