20 Best Ceramic Armor Plates (2022 Updated)

I looked for many months for a new dinnerware style to replace an old set I had tired of. It was surprisingly hard to find something I really loved that could work for everyday or for somewhat more elegant dinners.

This Casale Blu was the ticket. I added to the visual interest by buying the Casale Blue Dorina salad plates, mugs, and rice bowls. Really love it!.

I bought these during the big lockdown to spice up dinner. Well worth the money as they look good and match most settings. It’s nice to have some classy dinner plates, isn’t it? You can’t go wrong with blue.

Good item, fortifies my kids’ backpacks. Ordered two items, they came different sizes. No big deal, not hugely different but if it’s important to you reach out just to make sure.

Bought this for a backpack insert, I like the protective exterior, the edges are sealed nicely, and the nylon is quite pliable. I will be looking to them again in the future.

Swapped out the the AR500 side plates for these. Makes wearing and breathing with my plate carrier, more pleasant and still have side protection.

Half as heavy as steel plates. Twice as heavy as soft plates. They are hard plates which is good. I bought them with out realizing these are not curved. They are a little uncomfortable to me and my body shape but I will keep them in a carrier in the car for emergency use.

Excellent product at a great price. I’m hoping they offer these in the 8×10 configuration, so I can add these to my kids’ schoolbags, because this is where we are now, as a society. Regardless, I will definitely purchase a few more.

I order the product just two days ago and they arrived today. On a Sunday! The plates feels VERY durable and are lightweight at that. I wish I could find a video online reviewing these plates but in the time being I will have to trust them.

I bought these to go in front of my soft lvl3 body armor for added protection, steel plate add too much weight for me, these are much lighter and again using this as the front strike plate over lvl3 soft body armor, works perfectly and no issues fitting them with soft armor in carrier.

The plates are kind of heavy (and I am a 240 lb weightlifter. ), but they seem like they will stop a rifle bullet. One needs a good carrier with them, I use an old Army surplus 3A vest, which accommodates the plates pretty well.

They are NOT for wearing under ones uniform, they are too big and bulky. I work security, at night. Just like wearing seatbelts while driving, its good to wear body armor when working in urban California.

especially when working the graveyard shift. It also helps you get a good workout wearing them all night. Remember, body armor is not meant to save your life necessarily (though it will do that – if you are lucky), but rather to keep you in the fight, and/or allow you to flee.

I keep tourniquets and duct tape on hand just in case.

The pro’s of these armored plates at level 3 is the light weight design with a nice build up of outer coating. The plates are formed well for comfortable fit, and they fit in a 10 x 12 plate carrier vest with trauma pads very well.

I am very pleased with the quality and the fit of these plates and they are great for the wife wight wise in her plate carrier! Weight a problem for you but need the level 3 protection then these plates from Tactical Scorpion Gear are the way to go for sure! The processing and shipping time was excellent especially considering the times now,the process was if it was a normal day.

I completely recommend this product for tactical interest. I don’t see any cons to the subject considering the value and application of these plates I am all in and thumbs up on this one!.

I’m pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Body Armor curved plates I received. Of course I hope I never have a need to see how they perform but looking at their construction I feel confident that they will perform as expected.

I also appreciate the fact that the trauma plates were included. When I installed them in the front of my current plate vest, the plate and trauma pad fit very well in the enclosure. However when trying to install them on the back, the trauma plate would not fit.

I’ll probably end up buying another plate vest in the future, but I am very happy with the the Body Armor AR500 Level 3 curved plates I purchased.

I have unlimited pros but here’s the “cons”: The curve is less than expected, but realistic for your chest, unless you’re one of those weird people with cylinders for torsos The weight is what I would expect for the best laser cut pair of base coated plates under $100.

Get some trauma pads or foam “dummy plates” for comfort against blunt force. Work out. Wear them as often as possible. Get in shape. If you can’t wear 16 pounds, you’re either 16 pounds too weak or 16 pounds overweight.

Eventually it will feel like part of your body and when you take it off you’ll jump and smell the ceiling. Armor is my new hobby. Also bought some Kevlar for my non dominant arm, and Kevlar feels like paper compared to rifle level steel.

These plates from Scorpion Tactical are a very good product at a very nice price. If you need to hop into some decent body armor but you are on a budget, then you can’t go wrong with these plates. These plates are rated to withstand multiple impacts even from some common rifle rounds and they do seem to be able to hold up quite well, as depicted in many posted videos on the internet.

One thing that is excellent about these plates is that they already come with an anti spalling coating, which seems to be very capable and resistant as well. These plates are not as thick as some plates, yet they are still quite effective and heavy, but not as heavy as thicker plates would be.

I got these plates as a backup to my standard armor and thus far I am quite satisfied with this product and what it offers at such a low cost.

I will say the plates are a bit smaller than I was expecting but I knew they were mediums and it is my first set of plates. Good packaging, good cut, priced reasonably for level IV protection. I also purchased the Ares plate at the same time and prefer the Ares slightly smaller size but I am not a huge person by any means.

Fit into a 5. 11 tactec well but had to use the adjustable Velcro straps. I hope I never have to test it but seems to be of sufficient quality for professional use where it would be more likely to needed.

This is for all the bad reviews from people who obviously don’t understand body armor sales terms and complain about not being able to return armor. Rule # Due to liability reasons and under the sales agreement with most companies you can’t return body armor, most ads state that fact in BOLD LETTERS.

When you buy sub $200-level 4 plates don’t expect $800 plates and don’t whine like weak Lil snowflakes cause your cheap and think for the low price you’re getting armor that’s up to Delta force standards.

My old Army buddy bought a few of these and we tested one for the heck of it with 115 grain 9mm, std 5. 56 & 7. 62 x 51 NATO Rds and they stopped all Rds. The 3rd 7. 62 x 51 had some deformation but only after taking 2-9mm & 2-5.

56 Rds. For less than $150 I’d say pretty darn good. A suggestion is spend $60 for a level 3A soft panel and use that as your trauma plate to minimize any potential backface deformation trauma. These plates are absolutely garbage. Typical Chinese made trash. Buddy had a friend who worked at the store who helped us buy a few, I only wanted to test them. Lord you better have the most fluid and movable organs known to man if you think you’ll survive this back face deformation.

You might not get killed by the bullet ripping through you, but I hope you enjoy suffering when you have a fist sized caving in your ribs, resulting to puncture lungs and other organs, making you a literal heaving mess on the floor to suffer before you eventually die.

Only reason I give this 2 stars is cause it’s Atleast cheap and performed OKAY with standard handgun rounds and small rifle rounds. Other than that this plate is garbage, not to mention it being more or less a 9×11 due to the foam edge.

Rather stick to my hesco or Spartan armor plates before I even put these on as a gag.

Great ceramic plates at an amazing price! This is my 4th set of LAPG 10” x12” plates, (2 sets of level III’s & 2 sets of level IV’s). I also have a few sets of the AR500 steel plates which are about 2.

5lbs heavier each. That’s a total of 5lbs less! This may not seem all that substantial to some but when you’re wearing a fully loaded out plate carrier all day long, you will definitely appreciate the lighter weight and comfort! All 8 LAPG plates I received were thoroughly inspected and all appear to be of very high quality.

Nice option for running in a plate carrier. Picked up one to run in my lapg atlas plate carrier. Using it for the front and an lapg level4 10×12 for the rear. Great weight for the protection level and economically priced.

Running it for range training. Great way to get started in personal armor, in stock more often than not and great price. Reliable shipping and decent looking product. Fyi, made in China. YouTube reviews have it performing as expected.

Obviously have not shot the plates but they receive great reviews from others who have. These are the larger plates and as i am 6feet 250lbs i appreciate that. They are a bit heavy but still lighter than my old level 3 steel plates.

They fit my carrier perfectly and are fairly comfortable for when i need to wear them. Great price and i would buy them again.

Really good level Iv plates at a price you can’t beat. Look at the Youtube reviews for actual performance – pretty amazing. Harder to find in the larger 11″ x 14″ design. Works perfect in my NcSTAR CVPCVD Discreet LE SWAT Police Low Profile Plate Carrier that accepts the larger plates front and back.

Just wish they made them in multi-curve.

I bought this carrier for the simple fact it was minimalist and the carry bag allows for discrete carry. Working in a school, it allows me to carry it back and forth to my vehicle and the beginning and end of the day and gives me piece that additional body armor and rifle ammo is nearby.

Additionally, when in the trunk, I keep it right in front should I need to grab it quick when off-duty in my vehicle. As for the material, I think it did require some breaking in but this was easily remedied by wearing it while taking the dog for a walk for a week or so.

The shoulder straps are comfortable and the adjustable straps make for an individual fit with quick adjustments on the fly. The two mag holders and TQ holder offer up just enough extra ammo and piece of mind to get in and get the job done quickly.

The zipper pulls on the carry bag allow for quick and easy removal under stress and the carrier is easy to throw over your head and strap down without much fine motor movement. The material is durable and I’m pretty confident it’s going to last me the ten years the plates are good for.

Granted, I’m not wearing it for everyday use but it will fit my needs and then some.

Actually ended up buying a second one. I keep one in my duty rig and keep the other in my POV with my “truck gun. ” I put “shooters cut” plates in the front and SAAPI cut plates in the back. I was able to make the SAAPI cut plates work but there is a one inch gap at the top of the carrier because the plates are too wide at the top for the carrier.

To Shellback’s credit they do list this carrier for shooter’s cut plates. Anyways I love these carriers. Simple, well built, fast to don and comfortable.

Excellent carrier for the money and has been reasonably comfortable in my time wearing it. For my specific application, this will be worn infrequently for training and will be stored in the included bag for when not in use.

Given the initial build quality of this carrier, I expect that it will be rugged enough to perform a handful of times throughout the year.

I would think twice about ordering from This company. They don’t give two craps about your overall experience and definitely don’t care about getting your expensive purchase to you in a reasonable time frame.

Even working with their authorized dealers they still can’t meet their “ customers expectations”. I’ve got a plate that’s been waiting on ups to be given the package since 4/21/22 and it’s now the evening of 5/5/22.

Look for better American made plates. They are out there.

Well this is body armor, so if it doesn’t work. I won’t ever know it. But it’s pretty sturdy, and feels solid enough. It’s 6 pounds, heavier than my 3+, but this is supposed to stop everything up to.

50 so that makes sense. The customer service was also excellent. If you’re looking for some bullet stopping action, this is some pretty high-caliber armor.

So far these plates have surpassed my expectations. I haven’t been shot but as far as comfort and usability they are way better than t he class 3A+ plates I was using before. Lighter and fit the vest like a charm.

It’s a considerable difference when I put my new rig on with the Mira plates from my old rig. I could wear these all day.

Stratus III+ Enhanced plates are ridiculously thin and light for a rifle rated plate. The multi curve fits extremely well to the body. One thing to note if you are ordering from Canada is that there will be an extra charge from customs upon delivery so take that info account as it will add to the cost.

Also be careful when adding sales or discounts with the rewards program. Only one can apply. I was not paying attention and removed the sale discount while trying to use a small amount of rewards dollars on my account.

All in all a very good product from Premier.

I am very excited about these new plates. I’ve been running level III steel plates. They have combined weight of about 20 pounds. These are much much lighter and provide more protection. Further more, the multi-curve is now a must for any plates in the future.

They are very comfortable. Lastly, this is my first time purchasing from Premier, and I am very impressed with the service. Especially the hand signed card that comes with each purchase.

I bought 1 pair of these for both my front and back panels on my stab/spike vest. I need the extra stab/spike/trauma protection. I also needed something that will pass through the metal detectors. They are light and easy to install.

I hardly notice that I’m wearing the additional protection. Unlike the metal plates, these cannot be reshaped or modified. Nevertheless, mine works fine for me and I’m happy with it. The price is a little high but they are a specialty item and after all, how much is your life worth? As any Correction’s Officer knows, working outnumbered amongst violent inmates with “bad wiring” means you wrestle with them regularly, and in prison anything goes.

I’ll take all the added protection I can get!.

I am a police officer in Arizona. My brothers bought me your ultralight plates to upgrade my protection. As a result I am working with a Kevlar vest and your level 4 plates on which give me tons of confidence and peace.

I went to a call where a confused elderly man pulled a rifle on me and my partner. I was justified in using deadly force in this man at multiple occasions during the incident but because of my training, experience and great confidence in my armor, I wrestled with the man and arrested him.

I would not have been so comfortable and likely would have fired on him. Your products save lives in many different ways, thank you for what you’re doing!.

Like a few others have said, we’ll hopefully never have to find out how good it is. However, upon receiving it you can immediately notice the quality and how lightweight the plate is. I also returned the shooters cut for the regular one and the process was extremely easy and convenient.

They sent the new plate out the moment the other one returned. I’ll definitely be a returning customer.

Other than my Aglite K5 being slightly taller than the plates, (maybe half inch) I was surprised how light they were. Quality looks to be top notch, and customer service was awesome for calling me back to get a sapi cut for my back.

I haven’t owned a shooters cut, so will leave a review after some range time and drills. Price was great to me. I feel lucky to find L4 enhanced plates so light.

After reading several reviews watching videos, I made the purchase. I hope I will not need to test these plates out, I am confident I have purchased the right equipment for the right job. you cannot go wrong with STRATIS IV Enhanced – Multi-curve- Shooters Cut.

I originally had steel plates front, back and sides weighting at about 20lbs on my Agilite K-19. I purchased the ESAPI cut and with another brand for the sides, shaving off over 8lbs! Just with that I feel an extreme difference and my shoulders don’t get fatigued as quick! Also the shipping was quick, they arrived within a week!.

The armor I have available to me now is far and away better than anything I had when I was a 19 year old 11H in the infantry many years ago. But this stuff is heavy. I cannot imagine what steel is like.

This s**t is heavy and it isn’t steel. Get the ceramic. Get the ceramic all week long and twice on Sunday. If this stuff weighs this much then I cannot imagine what steel would feel like. You cannot put a price on keeping lead from penetrating your body and the older you get the more you realize this.

I’m old and I consider this a good investment. Get ceramic on the front and back and get the best steel available on the sides.

Great prices on plates. Good quality spall coating and solid plates. Weighty but we’ll built and fit exactly as and where they should. A great way to get into some side plates at a good price. Much more solid protection and steel are durable last long and can handle heat and cold.

Great for workout bug out bag you name it.

The side plates are very good quality. I went with there 6×6 plates. They fit my rig perfect. I would stay away from the 6×8 plates unless you know they will work. The 6×8 plates wouldn’t of fit my rig.

They also would have been to uncomfortable. I would also advise getting the trauma pads. They add a layer of comfort.

The problem is they should be flat and not curved. They also don’t fit the side pocket. If the eight inch plates are meant to stand up they come right up into my underarm. You cannot fight with a 1/2″ steel plate pushing up into your underarm.

Do you wear any of the gear you make? I bet you only wear the six inch plates. I cannot use them with your pathetic plate carrier. You also glued your package to the Fed-EX package so I couldn’t return it in the same package as your instructions demand.

I will not buy or recommend any of the gear you sell. If you are ex-military you should be ashamed. By the way there is also no room for the trauma pad behind the steel plate as the plate cavity is much too tight.

I am not a happy camper as you can see.

I got the 6×6 with full coating. They fit my Condor pouches perfectly, The coating appears evenly and thickly applied. The finishing spartan stamp looks great. The shipping was super fast. Both times I have ordered from Spartan they beat their timeline BIGLY! 10/10 Recommend.
