20 Best Ceramic Dog Bowls (2022 Updated)

My dog has never been a big water drinker and recently I became concerned that he was getting dehydrated. Someone I knew mentioned that the issue might be the stainless steel bowls so I decided to try something different.

I found this bowl at the local PetCo store and was immediately impressed by how sturdy and heavy the bowl was and for a good price. I brought it home, filled it up, and my dog immediately began drinking water.

I wish I had thought of this earlier!.

I wanted a bowl that I could both put in the microwave and dishwasher. This filled both criteria and is super cute. I got this in the medium and large sizes. They both have rather steep sides but it hasn’t seemed to be an issue for either of my dogs.

They reach their tongues in and get all the bits licked up. It also slows down my dog that eats too fast if I put it in the smaller bowl.

These are very nice dog bowls, however they do not stack!!! Really? A definite drawback. Have 2 of them. Since they don’t stack they take up a lot of space. I wouldn’t order them again, but I will say that other than that major drawback, they get 5 stars for quality, size, etc.

If they fixed that design flaw, I would get a couple more.

These bowls are great! Excellent quality. Perfect size. The rubber bottom is awesome. Keeps the bowls from chipping on the bottom or scratching the floor. And best of all, they stop the bowl from sliding across the floor when your puppy is overexcited about his dinner! Also, rubber bottom is easily removed for cleaning.

I planned to purchase stainless steel food bowls for my two maltipoo dogs. Saw this option and decided to purchase instead. Love the stability and weight of bowl. Not too deep for my dogs. Dishwasher and microwave safe.

You may ask, who puts a dog bowl in the microwave? I add a teaspoon of pumpkin to their dry food in the morning. Because I store pumpkin in fridge, I pop bowls in microwave to take the chill off. Who wants cold pumpkin for breakfast? Bonus is that bowls came in set of two.

Very good quality. these are very thick and heavy, at least compared to the stainless steel and plastic bowls I’ve used before. the non skid aspect is a rubber ring that’s removable for easier washing.

I knew the sizes were smaller than I wanted, which is fine, but I wish they made bigger sizes.

I read sizes and reviews, and measured, and read and measured but it seems I still didn’t ‘get’ that this bowl is just a bit too small. I have a Chihuahua mix – she is blind, and I need a bowl that is easy for her to find and drink out of (got it for her water) – but doesn’t tip over when she accidentally steps in or on it.

This isn’t big enough to really last for a day outside in her outdoor pen. I had to go to a local pet store to FEEL and SEE and really find a bowl more suitable. That said, this bowl has been moved to the cat cage – it is a good size for cat water overnight – and the “rubber” on the bottom is plentiful and sturdy and works really well to keep it from slipping around.

That is the good part of this bowl – that nice footing that keeps it in one place, so the four stars. And really it is a very nice bowl if it weren’t too small for our needs.

This bowl is wonderful and we will continue to order them as needed. This is our second bowl. I ordered this for my first standard poodle and she loves it. It is lasted for years. When I got another standard poodle I tried other bowls and they just were not as good at this one.

So I ordered my new standard poodle puppy this bowl and she LOVES it so much and so do we. I will order this bowl if we ever need another one. We love how the bottom is slip resistance. Now my poodle is no longer chasing her bowl around the kitchen.

I ordered three of these bowls, all different colors so I could identify which meal went to which dog (all different). The colors are pretty and as shown online. While the bowls are slightly lighter weight than I expected (possibly because I was used to ceramic) they are not flimsy.

The size I ordered is perfect for my dogs. I wash them by hand at least twice a day, and the food washes off easily. I switched from ceramic to metal because my puppy was chewing bits off his ceramic bowl.

He has no interest in chewing his new metal bowl, thankfully.

I ordered 2 of these for dog food bowls. I feed my dogs twice a day and these work perfectly. I have the larger size I use as a water bowl. They were exactly what I was looking for. They do slide on my hard wood floor but I knew that before I bought them and am going to buy a mat to use under them during feeding time.

The large dish is stated to be an “8-cup” capacity bowl. It is only a 6-cup capacity bowl. That makes a difference to me as I need for my dogs to have adequate water at their disposal, when I’m not home, during the summer months.

Even if you filled the dish to the brim it doesn’t come near 8 cups. This is the first time I’ve ordered from Chewy and am disappointed that the description is not the truth.

I’ve been looking for a good ceramic/stoneware water bowl for my 3 cats for months! Always ended up with 2 cup, or 6 cup bowls which were always good enough for a gerbil, or a small puppy. Finally found the perfect 4 cup heavy duty ceramic water bowl at the correct size.

This keeps the water cold for long periods of time and they can’t move it, or tip it over. Top quality and worth every penny!.

Wish it didn’t have to be submerged to activate the cooling effect, but the bowl itself is of a very high quality.

I have purchased many dog bowls that promised to prevent my dogs from tipping their food over. Unfortunately, they continued to exhibit this annoying habit that caused more work for me. I first used this bowl with my most resilient dog.

I watched as she moved the bowl around her large kennel in a variety of ways to unlock the key to tipping it over. After many unsuccessful attempts, she pushed the bowl to the side of her kennel and ignored it.

I will now purchase this bowl for my other two dogs. Kudos!.

Bought large bowl for Bassets. Heavy ceramic. Holds 1cup kibble with room to stir. Not too deep and ears stay clean. Rubber does not cover entire bottom, simply a ring. With dishwashing ring can come off but slides back on easily.

Rubber ring provides non skid for hard floors. Ceramic weight stops skid on throw rug.

Bought these bowls in a Chewy sale and very impressed with them. We have tile floors and even our food motivated lab/pointer cant push these across the floor. They’re microwave and dishwasher safe according to the bottom of the bowl and while I can’t speak to the microwave aspect cleaning them is super easy.

I gave 4 stars because the grip on the bottom is removable and can sometimes be tricky to get back on but you get the hang of it. We ordered the Navy blue and they were true to color.

I have two sets of this size and the larger size. I use these daily. When she was a puppy, it was her food bowl. Now, I put her frozen green beans, frozen pumpkin treat, etc. in it. They are easy to clean and still look almost brand new after close to two years of use.

I also love that they have a rubber bottom. It keeps it from moving around and scratching the floor.

I’ve never had cats that wouldn’t eat down into a dish before. The 3 cats I have now are all feral rescue. I was feeding them out of traditional cat dishes and then I noticed that when the food got down to the 1/2 way point, they would use their paw to dig the food out of the bowl and eat the food off their paw.

This caused waste and a mess on my floor. My daughter told me that some cats have whiskers that are so sensitive that they won’t eat food to the bottom of the bowl. So then I was on a quest to find a bowl that satisfied this dilemma.

This bowl does that nicely. No eating with their paws any more.

First – I love the food bowl! It’s cute and the perfect size and shape. But. The first bowl I ordered arrived with the box intact but the bowl broken. I contacted Chewy and they immediately sent me a new bowl at no charge, with no need to return the broken bowl.

Great service. The new bowl arrived today, intact – but the box had been torn and opened. The tape was torn off the bottom and the box had been reclosed by just tucking in the four flaps. Clearly the bowl had been taken out, and then shoved back in to the broken box and the flaps quickly reclosed.

My review of Chewy and of the is bowl is super positive. Their service is impeccable. But this shipping was really not acceptable – so I’m hoping Chewy will check into this so it doesn’t happen again to others.

When I first brought my puppy home he was barely 3 pounds. I needed a small dish for him to easily get at his food so I purchased 2 of them – one for food and one for water. These bowls are very cute and nicely made but very, very tiny.

It is perfect for the small amount of puppy food that he is on for now but truthfully it really is quite small for a water bowl – I am constantly refilling it much more than normal, as he pretty much drains it in one sitting.

I will be graduating to a bit of a larger size very soon as my pup is now a whopping 4 pounds!! I would still recommend these bowls for food for very small breeds of dogs and cats but would not recommend them for water bowls, only because they are so tiny.

If you don’t mind constantly refilling them then no problem.

This bowl is the perfect size for my adopted Chi mix. The rubber on the bottom keeps it from sliding while she is eating and the depth is just right for the amount of food. I like the marble finish and it goes great with my kitchen decor.

It washes up easily and dries quickly. It is dishwasher safe but I prefer to hand wash.

I got this set because it matched one of my dog’s placemat, and I’m so happy I found it. I love the bowls, they are very good quality for the price. The rubber edge is very useful so the bowls don’t go sliding everywhere.

This is a nice size bowl set for my 12 lb Pekingese dog. And the grips on the bottom stop it from sliding on his feeding mat. Nicely packaged too so arrived in perfect condition.

It’s fine, but the Medium size is a bit more shallow than I expected. My Havanese isn’t sure he trusts it because it has inane words in the bottom of the bowl: “Live, love, bark,” or something like that.

Ugh. Just leave it blank, plese. But the outside is lovely and the weight and ceramic quality are fine.

We received our bowl yesterday and we are so pleased with it. It is the perfect size for a medium size dog. The design blends well to our kitchen too. We will be buying another to have matching water and food!! Highly recommend.

Received an offer to try and honestly review this for reimbursement at quite possibly the absolute most perfect time! It’s been so cold where I live and the bunny water has been freezing up. During the week when I am gone it’s not a big deal because I just swap water bottles in the morning and evening.

I typically go away for the weekends however and needed something that would allow my bunnies to have access to water in the freezing temperatures. I tried a plastic water dish but it was too light and way too easily knocked over.

This dish on the other had was absolutely perfect! Not too large, yet still heavy enough that it does not get knocked over when the bunnies are playing around. The bunnies are able to get water even if it freezes with this perfect little water bowl! So glad to have this and going to buy two more tomorrow!.

I bought this for my daughters guinea pig. It’s cute and ceramic. I like the colors. My daughter love it. Her guinea pig eats her fruits and veggies from this bowl. It’s definitely worth the cost. I would recommend this bowl to anyone who has a small pet.

I would buy it again. It is heavy so they guinea pig can’t dump it over. It holds about half a cup of food. It’s easy to wash and clean.

These are the best dishes for guinea pigs as they tend to chew on stuff this isn’t something they can ruin or chew through. This is also the perfect size for what two guinea pigs will eat in a matter of a day and a half to two days.

These dishes don’t cost that much and if you don’t want your animals to potentially eat pieces of their food dishes and accidently pass away try using something like this or a small circle pyrex dish.

Love my bowl! Had awful sticky stuff where the label sticker was inside the bowl. I tried like heck to get it off and nothing was working. Then I googled it and tried all kinds of ways. Well, I came across the solution.

What a surprise WD40 took it right off!!! I’ve read the bad reviews about the sticky problem but they didn’t take the time to solve it. And if it wouldn’t come off no problem anyhow because chewy stands behind EVERYTHING they sell! Wouldn’t buy anywhere but chewy!! They’re the true American company and have the best customer service anywhere!!!.

I was careful removing the labels after reading the reviews. A little bit of the adhesive remained on 2 of the 3 bowls I purchased and it is indeed sticky so I could see debris sticking to it as it is being used causing a mess.

I also know that Baking Soda works amazing on removing unwanted residue/labels on all sorts of surfaces. Hence a little Baking Soda, water, and a sponge and all three bowls were clean as a whistle lickety split! Don’t let the sticky stuff stop you from saving on these pretty bowls just use some baking soda for this and many other things that are sticky.

LOVE the non-slip rubber on the bottom-keeps the bowls in place!.

I really like these bowls. They’re super cute and just the right size. Plus, the rubber ring on the bottom is great on our hard-surface flooring. Like others, the only downside I see is the adhesive used to attach the label on the inside of the bowl.

There are so many alternatives that would be better for this kind of product. As a dog food bowl retailer, this is something that should definitely be considered – particularly after having already receiving so much feedback on the topic.

These pet bowls from Design Imports are absolutely beautiful! The Portugese tile pattern really makes them pop. The bowls are quality, heavy material and on the bottom theres this rubber piece that goes all the way around to keep them for sliding, which is great because we have tile floors.

These pet bowls are a really pretty design! They are a great weight and size for a small to medium sized pet and are not easily turned over. They are made well and I believe they will last for a long time!.

He’s a small 14lbs and I have to refill it at least once a day. It works well as a food bowl but is too shallow for a water bowl. If it had a little more depth these would be perfect for us.

Got these bowls for my Dachshund. With his short legs, it was becoming a stretch for him to eat his food out of a big steel bowl, that tended to slip around the kitchen. He doesn’t have to go too far to eat and drink now.

These bowls are dishwasher safe, and I can control his food portions more easily. They are also more aesthetically pleasing than the old steel bowls he was using.

These bowls are super cute and are super heavy duty. I love the pawprint and the grey color. They have a rubber coating at the base which makes them non slip and completely safe for use. They wash easily as I just wash them by hand and have remained in top condition.

I needed a low, heavy bowl to put veggies in for my two dwarf bunnies, and the oval bowl was a success. They cannot tip the bowl over nor throw it around their pen. The bowl is also very easy to clean.

Given the design, both rabbits can now eat at the same time without bumping into each other (or having to take turns like they did with a smaller bowl). Win-win!.

I love this bowl for my cat that does not like to drink water from a bowl. I have to add extra water to her wet food so that she drinks the water she needs to stay hydrated. This bowl is perfect since it is large enough for her food and also additional 3-4 ounces of water.

In addition, the large size reduces her whiskers fatigue when she eats.

I purchased two of the large red dishes for our new puppy. They are an excellent size for our girl as she grows. The dishes are beautiful and well made. The rubber on the bottom holds the dishes in place as much as possible for a hungry pup.

They are not heavy so are not weighed done. I would purchase them again!.

I suddenly got paranoid about chemicals that might be in my dog’s old bowl, which I bought from a discount store near my house. I was happy to find these fancy Waggo bowls, which are the right shape and size (I got the small, for my chihuahua mix) and come in a lot of pretty colors.

She seems to enjoy eating out of it. So do I recommend it? Sure. Would I spend $22 on a single bowl, for myself? Absolutely not.

I had a problem with my American Bully slopping water all over the floor when he drank. I was constantly mopping the floor. This bowl is wide and deep enough to prevent this issue. It’s just what I wanted.
