20 Best Ceramic Electric Skillet (2022 Updated)

Very disappointing. Thought I got a good purchase after reading all the reviews. Beautiful skillet, , the right size. Unfortunately the ceramic bottom starting sticking and came off in a small area after about a couple of uses!.

You can see the image of the heating element as an oval shaped area where the sticking occurs. Not really non stick either. I would have returned it if it were not such a pain. Bought it from Macy’s.

I read all the reviews on all the electric skillets. I decided on this one since there was no reasonably priced all stainless steel electric skillet available at a decent price. I LOVE THIS SKILLET!!!! If you make chili or spaghetti sauce or need to brown a lot of meat – you will love this! If you make pancakes or cook scrambled eggs and anything else (at the same time) you will love this! The coating is ceramic not Teflon and this is a good thing.

Use a plastic spoon, spatula or pancake turner. The skillet washes out very easily even though you don’t want to submerge it. NOTHING sticks to it!!!!! There is a trick to using an electric skillet so that you can rely on the temperature reading.

Turn the skillet on and heat it to 400 degrees, as soon as it gets to that heat, if you are frying or browning anything, add it to the skillet and then turn it down to the temperature you want to cook at.

Before deciding on this electric skillet, I read all the reviews from many websites on many different electric skillets. I cannot believe how many reviews (all positive) were written by people who had either received the skillet for free, in trade for a review OR had been compensated for their review.

I bought my electric skillet from Walmart. com and have not been compensated in any way. I love the Walmart. com free home delivery for orders over $35.

We had the non-ceramic skillet for a couple years and used it every day until the heating unit finally burned the non-stick surface beyond use. Thought I’d try this ceramic skillet and within the first few weeks the heating element was scorching the ceramic.

Also everything I to cook on it (mostly eggs, pancakes)became stuck to the surface–even bacon for goodness sake! No matter how low the temp or whatever amount of oil I used, I always had to chisel the food off the skillet.

Maybe this was a fluke because of all the good ratings. But I am going back to the other (black) non-stick skillet. I worked great and got a couple years use out of it. Again, I use this almost every day.

Unreliable, shoddy construction. Never did anything unusual to this appliance. Just plugged it in and cooked. Within a year the heating element became loose at random times, and would just stop heating.

It doesn’t fit properly, or align properly, and any time I cook it can just randomly shut off at any time with no warning. Just recently, even if I get the heating element aligned it won’t heat to the specified temperature.

If I set it to 400 degrees it won’t even reach that temperature. 50 bucks and it worked reliably for less than a year. I advise against buying this, there’s not guarantee it will work. Shoddy workmanship, and manufacturer’s defect.

I’ve had my Hamilton Beach Durathon Ceramic for a few days now. My very first meal was chicken and steak fajitas. The second night we had fried fish I was pleased because the unit didn’t specify frying option but thought I would give it a try since you do have a controlled thermostat.

This skillet is easy to clean and use. I was very pleased to be able to serve food “buffet style”. The unit itself is a good size not heavy at all and the best part is it comes apart for easy storage.

This unit is advertised being completely dishwasher safe excluding the power cord. The unit itself is crafted well a heavy silver for hit the inside and the inside still looks new, although I do not recommend using metal utensils with this unit it appears it will hold up.

The only negative I can think of so far is the lid itself a lot of energy and time went into everything except the glass top it has a poor quality feel to it almost as if it’ll break at a moments notice.

It really gives a feel of the top was an afterthought. All and all solid product.

I was surprised by the 12″ x 15″ size of the skillet and that the skillet is removable from the stand. Both are great features and allows both pieces to be washed in the dishwasher, however I still like to wash and dry by hand.

The ceramic non-stick finish is awesome and with the generous cooking surface you can prepare a large amount of food at one time. When cooking with it I found that it browned evenly and quickly. The thermostat is easy to use and the skillet seems to maintain heat as designated by the thermostat.

I like that once separated from the stand the skillet can be placed on the table as a serving dish. It comes with a clear glass lid so you can watch your food while cooking and you can keep your food warm on the table.

I really like this skillet and it is very attractive. I received this skillet for an honest review. I can assure you that this is my honest and sincere review.

I got a “Split Savor” which is like an electric skillet except it is divided into 2 parts. I made numerous dishes in this for my mother and I and the “Split Savor” save a lot of dishes to wash. Tonight, I decided to fry fish using the “Split Savor” and make onion rings.

I love it, I used very little oil in both sides and fried fish on one side of the “Split Savor” and the onion rings on the other side. This really worked wonderful as I could keep an eye on both at the same time and flipping the fish or onion rings as needed.

They turned out perfect, with the coating mix frying up crispy on both fish and onions, with no fishy taste to the onions or onion flavoring to the fish. I really loved how easy it was to clean up with really no waste in oil.

I do not like to keep oils I have fried fish or onions in because of the flavor in left in oils. The “Split Savor” was easy to get rid of the little bit of oil I used by soaking up with paper towels, then rinsing with hot water and wiping the “Split Savor” with a soapy dish towel and rinsed.

Kitchen cleanup was a breeze because there really was not that much oil that splattered on the counter unlike when using 2 different skillets full of hot oil. My only disappointment is one side needs a dial or switch to for keeping warm while other side finishes cooking.

I do recommend this skillet for people who prepare meal for 2 or preparing 2 dishes at the same time.

I see in a small studio apartment. I often don’t have enough space to cook on the stove because of the set up. So this product has been a bit of a lifesaver. I’m 100% sold on the fact that I can cook cornbread in here while I’m making a vegetable for me because of the steam but I have made him fish and vegetables or protein and vegetable at the same time and I was very hesitant but it actually works pretty well.

I think but I was most concerned that sing one seat from one side to the other and if you were making something like cornbread that it wouldn’t work out , But it is actually worked out pretty well. I am very happy that I have this and I’ve been cooking all of my dishes in here and not using my pots and pans as much so I hope it doesn’t give out on me LOL.

I’m definitely a game changer though especially when you want to cook quick meals and you don’t want to you know fight with aqua positioning on the stove with pots and pans. This is definitely worth the investment.

I love that it came on my favorite color also because it’s so big storage can be a bit of an issue if you’re a lemonade on storage like I am but I have rearrange some things so that shouldn’t be a problem any longer.

The only thing that I would suggest is to get familiar with the temperatures because it can be a little bit tricky. Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone living in a small space that needs to cook multiple things at one time.

This pan is really unique in the fact that I can make 2 different dishes at the same time and they don’t run over into each other. It is great for those dishes that one person doesn’t like full of spices and another person does – they can both get what they want with the same food and not dirty another pan.

I made french toast in one side and eggs on the other at the same time. I also reheated a casserole on both sides (adding spice to one) and they came out perfect for both parties I also tried making scrambled eggs in one and over easy in the other and they both came out perfect.

Cleaning this pan is so easy – I hand washed it with hot water and soap and nothing stuck where scrubbing was needed. Although they say you can put it in the dishwasher it is easier for me to hand wash it.

Also they say you can use metal utensils but I always use plastic so I don’t damage the finish. This is a very different and great pan. I also love the fact I don’t have to put it on the stove and it can be used on the counter which frees up the stove for other items.

We already have a Zojirushi rice cooker and bread maker, and this Zojirushi-branded electric skillet did not disappoint. My favorite feature is the removable pot. it makes clean-up a breeze without having to worry about getting the electronic parts wet (or soapy).

Safety-wise, the removeable electric cord is magnetically attached. We already had an instance where someone tripped on the cord, and it harmlessly detached without the unit being dragged off the table or the person falling down.

The skillet heats water up quickly and is simple to operate with an analog slider. It’s also large enough for our family of five to enjoy hot pot dinners. I know for an electric skillet, this is on the pricier side, but if you can find it on sale (like I did), it’s a good investment if you enjoy doing hot pots at home.

I’ve had this for about 3 years. I purchased it when I moved out for the first time and wanted to do hot pot at home. I didn’t feel safe using the portable gas stove in our apartment so I looked into the electric ones.

I have used it countless times because of my obsession with eating hot pot and wow… it’s still as good as ever. Highly recommend this product or any Zojirushi product because of its quality and durability.

I absolutely love my new Zojirushi d’Expert Electric Skillet. I have not stopped using it since I unboxed it last weekend. It’s been the only cookware I’ve used to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner ever since.

Wow! I’m amazed and very very happy. I have the turquoise and the utensils. I love this skillet and so happy I found it and bought it. It’s the best ever! Gets very hot , very quickly. I actually had to turn temperature lower than what the instructions suggest.

Wow wow! And the clean up is the easiest ever and it’s so light weight to handle. Because of it’s design the bottom never hits the sink so it keeps cleaner then pots n pans to etc. You just need a quick soapy wipe with soft shine and rinse it.

simple and nothing sticks. I keep mine on a shelf where it’s easy to grab. I cooked pancakes and eggs at same time, ground beef done in few minutes evenly cooked, I sauteed again noodles and vegetables and stabbed my veggies.

I was in need of a new skillet, and since the ones I have had in the past kept getting ruined by stuff sticking, I decided to get this one. The heat controls are easy to use, though the temperatures take some getting used to.

They are like oven temperatures instead of the normal low medium high spectrum. I put this skillet to the test right away, with one of the dishes that is notorious for sticking to the pan. I was a little concerned while cooking, because it looked like it was starting to stick.

In the end, the food turned out amazing, and the skillet was super easy to clean. Anything that did appear to stick, washed away with a simple swipe. I am very pleased with this product, and I will definitely buy it again if I ever wear this one out somehow.

I can cook almost anything in this skillet, freeing space on my stovetop. It is deep enough to cook foods that have gravy or sauces that need a deeper pan or skillet. The temperature dial works perfectly and it heats up very quickly.

The keep warm feature is a great addition to keep foods warm while waiting on other parts of the meal to finish cooking. The interior is nonstick so nothing gets stuck while cooking. It is lightweight and extremely easy to wash.

The color is so pretty. I am very pleased with this skillet. It makes cooking and cleanup so much easier.

I bought this, based on numerous reviews and ratings, because they said the non-stick finish was durable and the pan had even heating. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks and find that the heating is not as even as I expected.

Am using this in an RV in place of a gas stove. Made “toast” in it and had heating zone lines on the bread. Thought it would be too big for one person, but it’s big enough that I can have all parts of the meal in the pan at once, all keeping warm.

Am just cleaning it with a paper towel, not washing, and that’s working well so far. Actually love this pan. One caution. although it sits several inches above the counter top, the counter still gets what seems to me to be dangerously hot.

Would definitely recommend some sort of protection against counter overheating. The first time I used it, I turned an over safe dinner plate upside down under the pan, and that dissipated heat sufficiently.

Am now using a piece of metal. Really like the pan.

I’m enjoying this pan. I’ve only used it 3 times but it’s very easy to use and my results were beautiful! I love it for pancakes. It seems to control the heat better than my electric stove which I do not like to cook on, especially pancakes! Im very happy with this purchase!.

My old skillet was 33 years old and quite worn. Since my family is growing, I needed a newer and larger skillet. This one fit the bill! It has easily readable controls, a clear lid with steam vents, large cooking surface; but most importantly, it’s fully immersible, so cleanup is extremely easy! It was definitely a great purchase!.

I bought this to replace my 16”electric skillet that died. I have not had the chance to try this one out yet but I was happy with my previous one. i like having the glass lid and the higher sides. My kitchen is just standard size in older home, so it needs to be efficient.

I do not have a gas stove so cannot accomadate a larger pan on stovetop. I also have a 12”electic skillet and use both of these frequently. They are not as good as using a large heavy skillet on a high quallity gas range, however they serve the purpose well for the things I cook in larger quantities.

I felt the price at Walmart. com was good too. I appreciate the free shipping and easy returns at my local Walmmart.

I love this. Can use it like a flat top grill, and fryer! I’ve done them both on this. I cooked in a restaurant and wanted something similar to a flat top and little frying capabilities. I’ve cooked wings in 2 quartz of oil.

Perfect!! My sauce was amazing I might add! Bacon, eggs, omelets, pancakes, my favorite Philly Cheese steak! Like the real deal!! Awesome addition!.

I end up buying a new one of these yearly, unless I drop it. I just got one last month after trying a different brand. I love the size, the height especially because being in a wheelchair it’s difficult at a regular size counter to see into most other skillets, but that’s where the love of this product ends.

The ceramic coating comes off, it’s not really non stick, and because of the way it heats that circle is really the only place that gets hot after a while. Once you’ve owned it about a year the circle will have burned through the ceramic coating.

The cover is awful, two screws would be so much better, nothing like a handle coming lose as you are lifting it. Today I called to see if I could purchase new handles, that was beyond a joke, first i was told, they don’t have handles to buy, then she said it was because of limited supplies that I couldn’t purchase handles.

As long as you don’t use this product every day, or ever accidentally drop it, you’ll love it.

This is a very versatile cooking product which can be used for all types of cooking. I would have preferred to have controllable vent in the lid that could be opened or closed but there is no vent provided at all! I also do not have x-ray vision in order to see the temperature setting and/or controller unit which is located below the oversized wide obtrusive handle totally concealing the controller from normal view, which forces you to take a hard (inconvenient) look under the handle to see the temperature setting and/or status indicator! I plan to enlarge the handle hole cutouts provided to make it easier to see the controller.

I thought that I could simply reposition the handles 90 degrees to remedy the controllers obstructed view but the manufacturer prevented this solution by using a different spacing on the square mounting positions allowing the handles to be only mounted in one position! I still gave this Electric Skillet an Excellent Rating due to the oversights referenced, in comparison to the competition at any price but for under $20.

00 purchase there is no competition to this product! This is one of the best cooking Appliances after Convection and Microwave Cooking Appliances and the best Electric Skillet under $100. 00 price range! I have experienced no problems in cooking performance, which has a large capacity, I prepared a large double recipe family skillet dinner, which equaled 10 large servings and did not use half of the skillets capacity!.

I finally retired this skillet after abusing it for several years by cooking meat, eggs, bacon and even cookies with it! The Bella Housewares brand impressed me so much with the performance, design and value of this ceramic skillet that I decided I would only buy another Bella skillet.

Unfortunately Walmart did not carry Bella anymore, so I shopped online and bought the Copper Titanium skillet. Now the ceramic skillet is going to my workshop as a warmer because it still works perfectly well after years and thousands of meals cooked.

This is a great item. People who say the lid handle is missing are throwing it away with the packaging. People do this sort of thing all the time with all sorts of products and then blame the manufacturer.

Uneven heating? NO, no true. This is the most evenly heated electric skillet that I have ever used. It is also much better than any of the Presto griddles. yeah, this isn’t a griddle as some of the reviewers think — but if you want uneven heating, get just about any of the electric griddles that are available now and you’ll have that for sure.

Plug cord falling off? One reviewer says the cord keeps falling off. there is no way that this person has plugged it in completely. They are just barely starting the plug into the port and definitely are not snapping it in all the way — it is a very tight/firm fit.

So, the ONE negative thing. is the dial for the temperature setting. yeah, it is under the handle and you have to look from a the side a little. so what? How much trouble is that? NONE. just crank it up and cook.

the way you do with your stove top. This is an awesome item. I cook in it almost every day. I am 100% satisfied.

This is our second Bella skillet. We only replaced it because, like all skillets, in time the surface above the heating element discolors from the heat and the food starts to stick. There were zero chips in the cooking surface when we threw it out.

We got about 1 1/2 years of daily use out of our old one and considered this a good value for a $19. 84 skillet. Also, the new one came with a temp control that, unlike the picture, has a 90 degree bend to the rear.

This makes the cord easier to deal with when using the skillet and easier to remove the temp control when it’s time to clean the skillet. One more thing to add. My wife dropped the lid off the counter to the floor and it didn’t break.

Well, our floor is linoleum covering concrete! Just buy one and try it for yourself.

I have had this skillet for a year. What made my decision to purchase a ceramic skillet by Bella is because I have an electric griddle. I like the griddle a lot. The electric skillet was great at first, but the ceramic started to wear off after a few months.

Food started sticking even while I had the temperature on a lower temp. Also, the griddle was well greased with butter and food still stuck. Clean up was easy the first few months, but it’s a bit more work lately.

I did try to reseason it to make the skillet more smooth while cooking, but it didn’t last long. One of the legs cracked. I glued it back on there and it’s still holding up. It was a nice purchase in the beginning.

I bought this electric skillet about 6 months ago to replace one that had finally given up the ghost after many years of use. There were not many brands on the shelf to choose from, in fact there were only 2 on the shelf a 12 in.

square and this 15 in. Oster brand. I was intrigued by the idea of a hinged lid and felt that it was a good idea since I would no longer had to figure out where to safely put a hot large lid while cooking.

In theory it should work, but in practicality, the hinge is flimsy and the holding pin works its way out of the slot; which then causes the hinge to twist and become unstable. Since the lid is heavy glass, this potentially causes a safety hazard.

You can opt to not use the hinge, but you then have to lift the lid using the handle at the opposite end and the hinged part of the lid. Also I feel the thermostat cord needs to be longer. Now for the positives.

it is affordable. Easy to clean and use. The clear glass lid makes it easy to view the food while cooking.

I don’t want to discourage anyone from buying this electric skillet, but just know that the control is NOT NOT NOT calibrated!!! Oster! This is terrible! There are complaints that people have burned through the coating after a couple uses.

YES YOU CAN DO THAT! That being said, I didn’t. I pay close attention to engineering, so I tested mine first. Using an IR thermo gun. At 350 degrees on the control, the surface temperature headed up near 500 degrees and was still going! I turned it down to 325 and it shut off at around 450 degrees! That is why you WILL burn through the coating.

IF you want one of these, don’t ever cook anywhere above 350 setting on the control. I cooked pancakes at 350. Cooked WAY TOO FAST! I turned down to 325, and still a little too fast. Probably 300 setting would be fine for pancakes.

Now, you shouldn’t have to all go out and buy an IR gun to operate this skillet at an acceptable temperature, but I would encourage you to do so if you really want one of these. DO NOT LET THESE GET NEAR 500 DEGREES!! It is NEVER acceptable to cook at that kind of temperature in any case!! To qualify my test of this skillet, I have tested several others in the past.

The controls were NOT accurate but usually withing 25 degrees of what was set, which is acceptable in my opinion. As long as you keep the surface temp below about 450 degrees, this skillet would be fine.

Just don’t turn the control anywhere above 350! One more thing. Believe it or not, I have seen videos of people using metal utensils on this skillet. DON’T DO THAT!! You will damage this coating. I have seen evidence of that in a couple videos.

So, I am undecided whether to return it or not, but probably will return it.

I am not certain that I like the lid or plug design. I had a difficult time inserting the plug into the pan. I ended up having to turn it upsidedown to see where to line it up. With other electric skillets I have owned, it was never a problem.

The other concern that I have is with the lid design. I like that it is hinged but wish there was another handle on the top and that it could possibly swivel at the hinge. For example, I just used it to keep fried chicken warm at a family gathering.

I closed the lid but then condensation started to build up and drip water on the chicken. I needed to vent the lid to let some hot air out. However, the only option is to have the lid completely closed or completely opened.

I ended up taking it off the hinge and just laying it askew on top but I was nervous that it was going to get knocked to the ground and it was difficult for people to then move the lid to get food because there was no center handle.

The one handle is not good for supporting the whole weight of the lid when it is not attached to the hinge.

Bella 12″ x 12″ Ceramic Copper Titanium Skillet is a high quality product that helps me makes delicious foods for my friends and family. My stove’s two front pilots have stopped working, so this skillet has been a lifesaver.

Upon taking it out of the box, I noticed and loved that it is generously sized, so it holds a large amount of food. It was easy to follow the directions and screw on the handle of the lid. I love that the lid handle is wide, so I can get a firm grasp.

Moreover, the two large handles on the side of the skillet make it easy to hold and carry anywhere. This skillet fits well on my kitchen counter. The one caution I would have for customers is to make sure you have a 120 V AC electrical outlet and do not plug it into any other outlet.

Once major convenience is that this skillet heats up pretty quickly, so that helps save me time. I love making my breakfast meals on this appliance. My eggs, french toast, sauages, and bacon are cooked perfectly and taste great.

I love that the coating for this skillet does not contain any harmful chemicals that could leak into my food. In terms of cleaning, only the lid can be placed in the dishwasher, but the skillet surface is easy to clean off with a sponge and dish detergent and takes me less than 3 minutes.

I appreciate the non-stick surface of this device, which makes it easy to wipe off. This skillet should not be put into water. I love that it has a temperature dial that goes up to 450 degrees. The instruction manual is also convenient because it includes a list of common foods you can make, what temperature to set the skillet on, and how long each food will take to cook.

I made some stew chicken legs and thighs for my family over the weekend, and they came out juicy and tender. The true benefits of Bella 12″ x 12″ Ceramic Copper Titanium Skillet are that it can make a variety of dishes, is easy to clean and handle, and has a non-stick surface, and heats up quickly.

This product is a real benefit in my kitchen, and I will continue to use it made make delicious foods for my friends and family.

I have had this 12×12 Copper titanium electric skillet for less than a year. Initially it performed as advertised. Now I find that food placed over the burner ring burns while the rest cooks far more slowly.

This does not reflect the claims of even cooking. AND this occurs with the heat setting at warm.

I got this in exchange for an honest review and I must say, I have always been leery of electric skillets because they never cooked evenly or the temperature was difficult to regulate. I LOVE this skillet! The temperature control actually is accurate, the non-stick surface is a TRUE non-stick to where i made scrambled eggs with cheese and didn’t add a drop of oil or butter and they didn’t stick at all! I have fried bacon, cooked chicken, made an amazing pasta sauce and even made a dessert! This is versatile, easy to clean (wiped it clean then a quick wash.

No scrubbing) and its just a gorgeous piece of cookware! The copper and black look really pretty! I love this skillet and will be getting a few as gifts for my family!.

It is an amazing product. I thought it was going to be a bit smaller but no. I am still using it for traveling places were there is no kitchen facilities and this changes the whole game. I’ve made so many different dishes in this! Is practical, fits almost anywhere and cleans really easy.

Like I said, I bought it for traveling and I saved so much money not eating in fast foods or restaurants.

Works very well, cooks evenly and washes easily. Only two drawbacks, one is that the lid is plastic. It’s a rigid polymer, however, resists heat, and hasn’t been an issue, and it it is never an issue then it won’t be a drawback, so we’ll give it a year and if it holds up then no problem.

The larger drawback is the handle that attaches to the lid, it isn’t rigid enough and I’m leery that it won’t hold up for long. The manufacturer can talk to their engineering department, add some ribs in the plastic injection mold, underneath the handle, that’s an easy and inexpensive revision to make to the existing mold and it will strengthen the part adequately and eliminate the flimsiness.

Even with that, for the price, it’s a very good product.

I could not function without electric fry pans. They are more efficient than stove burners and easier to clean. I purchased 2 banquet sized. Have had 6 or 7 of them in the past. Have never purchased Presto but could not find the high domed West Bend.

The Prestos are wider than what I had but the dome lid is not as high. We have frequent house guests and 2 are a necessity at breakfast. Additionally, they make the best pop corn. (Single layer of kernels on the bottom of the pan plus small amount of oil.

) Suggest the fry pan makers come out with a ceramic coating or one of those red copper type finishes. Years later, when the thermostats go I’ll buy again.

I ordered this because most electric skillets do not provide even heat. This one did; the round base heated evenly. However, it was not truly flat–had a small but noticeable rise in the center. More problematic: too much appliance for the basic uses I need.

It’s extremely heavy, bulky and cumbersome, and has more parts than “skillet” indicates. If I didn’t already have a kitchen this might be an all-purpose cooking appliance, but as a small appliance in a regular kitchen it’s just excessive.

My recommendation is based on the fact that it actually does work as claimed, but my real advice is “yes or no” depending on what you really need.

Before I purchased this, I made sure that it would fit in my storage cupboard: it is quite large. The reason that I decided to go ahead, after confirming that it would fit, was because it is one of the very few cookers of its type that heats up almost to 500F, and I needed the circumference to make crepes and injera.

Although it is not my go-to appliance for crepes, it does fit the bill for flatbread. Amazing! Now, on to other uses. The shallow pan is great for browning potatoes & here’s the trick: this appliance comes with a steamer tray, so if you want to do your entire batch of spicy crisp potatoes in one place, just steam the cut up potatoes in the deep dish with the tray, then transfer the cooked potatoes to a bowl, season, and throw them back into the shallow tray to brown.

Works perfectly. The deep pan is fabulous for assembling a soup & cooking it for as long as you need. Two caveats: be sure to save the styrofoam ring that comes with the packaging–it works as a protector against scratching the deep bowl while stored.

Also, although somewhat awkward, removing the steamer tray with food on it can be accomplished by inserting a chopstick into the large hole on the perimeter; raise it slowly, and then grab the edge with an oven glove.

As far as sauteing in the Zoji, I don’t know what would keep you from trying that. Use a silicone implement, high heat. Not seeing a downside, but I could be wrong. Of course I’m not one to follow silly advice that might be just a misunderstanding of what you want to do.

Obviously, a lot of oil or deep frying probably not a good idea.

I am not : nmcleveland but that keeps showing up on this review and I can’t change it. I am: Wanda O I’ve had this skillet for a month and have fixed everything from soup to a pulled pork roast. I absolutely love this skillet! It sautes, simmers, fries, and slow cooks.

The pans work in the base (that never gets hot to touch) or on top of the stove. I find that slow cooking between the keep warm and simmer settings works perfectly. I’ve never had to use the highest setting, even for frying chicken.

The deep pan is perfect for things like chicken and dumplings, roasts,and pulled pork. The shallow pan does perfect fritattas, sauteing, bacon, scrambled or fried eggs, and much more! Both pans do fantastic with the steaming tray.

I’ve steamed veggies, lobster tails & shellfish in the deep pan and fish fillets in the shallow pan. It’s attractive and I use it so often I leave it out on the cabinet. I know the instructions say the deep pan isn’t for sauteing but I think it means to use the shallow pan for that.

The English translation is not always clear. It cleans very easily. I did buy all silicone utensils for using with this skillet as I really want to protect it and use it for a long time to come.

I immediately fell in love with my new electric skillet the first time I made pancakes on it. It has a non-stick surface so I didn’t have to add any extra butter/non-stick spray to the pan. I just poured out the batter and watched them cook up to perfection.

It was easy to flip them over with a spatula with no issues of them sticking. The surface is super easy to clean too. Just a damp cloth and it wipes back to being as clean as before I used it. It’s super easy to use and is compact for easy storage on top of my fridge.

The major problem with the Greenlife is that the letters on the electric control unit are too small to easily read. …. and when it is plugged in, the shadow from the pan handle makes just about impossible to see to adjust.

I have to use a small flashlight to read the dial! Even though I am 77 years old my reading sight is excellent. Please look at the design on your product and actually try to use it. I assume other customers must have same problem.
