16 Best Ceramic Tile Sealer (2022 Updated)

No where on the bottle does it say clean dry surface. I think that would be important info to have on the container. Like just include the word dry before the word surface. I went to the website to locate that info.

It might be common sense, but when dealing with showers how dry does it need to be? It was the only question I had when reading the directions.

We discovered 511 seal and enhance 2 years back and have used it yearly since. Our backyard has mostly slate surrounding the pool. When properly maintained, the 511 seal and enhance really brings out the beautiful colors of our slate.

We maintain our front walkway with the same sealant. This sealant doesn’t leave a white residue like the wet look sealants sold.

I had a flagstone sidewalk installed and wanted to seal it. I went to Home Depot and Lowes and found different brand sealants. I went home and researched and did not like the reviews of those products.

I did some research on my own and found this product. Ouch, yes it is expensive, but absolutely worth it!! I Love this stuff and the other reviews were the same. I used a cheap paint brush to apply it and that worked the best.

I have bought other sealant for my pavers and other jobs, will only buy this product now!.

We have a 10,000 sqft concrete shop floor. Every year or two we clean, strip, seal and finish our floors with these Zep products. The most important step is to mop the floor with clean water several times before laying down sealer and finish.

We use the stripper with a floor scrubber, mop it up, then follow with another floor scrubber using the neutral cleaner, that way it gets up a of the stripper that gets dried out or flung around and missed.

When applied carefully, you get a perfectly gloss finish. Also if you skip the sealer, you will see more imperfections in the base material. The sealer helps keep the concrete looking more uniformly wet.

Also the best way to apply this product is with a wide microfiber mop such as the Rubbermaid Hygen Q570, Q424 and the telescoping angled handle. we used to use the rayon mop heads but they take longer and leave streaks.

the streaks will dry out and be fine, but they wind up taking like 2 hours to fully dry between coats.

I had commercial grade Armstrong VCT installed. A few days later, I was having workmen arriving and thought I should seal the new floor before they walked on it (installer threw away Armstrong packaging).

I bought this at HD and applied it. It never turned white and I applied 1 thin coat. Several hours later, the workmen arrived and walked on the floor. The next day, when I saw it, I almost had a heart attack.

The floor was FILTHY!!!!!! I tried to clean it and the brown from the dirt wouldn’t come up. I stripped the floor with Zep stripper. The floor still wouldn’t clean up. Stripped it a few more times, then applied the sealer again.

After an hour, I applied the second coat. Two weeks later, the floor is still sticky!!!!! Apparently, that is what happened when I applied the first coat; the floor hadn’t dried after several hours and all the dirt from the guys’ boots ended up becoming part of the floor.

I’m now going to have to get professionals in to strip the floor with machines and professional products. I’m furious. There is no way I put too much product on. And, still being sticky after two weeks of drying is outrageous.

I returned ALL the Zep products I had and will NEVER use these products again. Did Zep forget to put in a drying agent? The instructions say it takes 1/2 hour to dry. Really????????? And of course Zep blames the problems on the customer.

Armstrong VCT Tile does not require stripping before the first application of sealer is applied. Its product has a fast start finish that is simply washed with a neutral floor cleaner. and rinsed. Application of the sealer and polish was with a Rubbermaid microfiber flat mop.

This microfiber mop applied an even thin coat that dried in 30 to 40 minutes. The coverage was according to the label. 500 square feet was covered with about 1/3 gallon of sealer and 1/4 gallon polish.

1. I have a high end customer who wanted his flagstone shiny. Based on that I got Dominator Sealer Stone+ Gloss. Gloss would indicate a high sheen, but no…. not even close. Get your labels right guys! You can’t put Stone+Gloss in the upper left hand corner, Satin finish in the sub headline, and in the description say semi-gloss/low gloss wet-look sheen.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD just tell me what sheen to expect!!! I talked to customer service and they’re only solution was to apply more. Well, OK, since I have 800ft2 of flagstone that’s not shiny and I can’t take it off, sounds like a plan! Except… 2.

The rains have started (It’s October, so no biggie, i can work around the weather) and the customer just sent me pics of his patio with tons of white patches where apparently the water is getting behind the sealer I applied, and his whole patio looks horrible.

Everytime the flagstone gets wet, there’s patches of white EVERYWHERE. And before you start thinking, maybe it was the prep, let me stop you. I’m a professional coating contractor. 25 years experience in painting, log home refinishing, and deck sealing.

I followed the instructions EXACTLY, watched the videos, checked for moisture content before applying the product, sprayed an even layer of sealer and back rolled. Now I’m stuck with a ****** off customer, no payment for the work, out several hundred for supplies, and no clear way forward to solve the problem.

Resealing my travertine pool deck. First off, the material coverage is on the low, low end of what is claimed. Applied with a pump sprayer then back-rolling. I would never know it goes on white because if I applied it that heavily as in the video, the coverage rate would be minimal.

Product was fully dry, no tackiness or anything within a couple of hours. Honestly can not tell any difference between the completed area vs the still uncoated area. Of course, now I am out of product and will need to buy more to finish.

I used an earlier version about 5 years ago which left a visible satin sheen. When the sheen was gone, it was time to reseal. With this version, I’ll never know.

I live in coastal Florida and have a 8 year old travertine pool deck. The deck was sealed professionally when it was new and again about 4 years ago. Since then it has become faded from the sun and many pressure washings.

This time I decided to reseal the deck myself. After some research I decided on Black Diamond Dominator Stone + Low Gloss Sealer. I followed the instruction provided and application was easy. My pool deck is about 2000 sq.

ft. I power washed the deck on Friday and applied the product on Saturday. Application took about 4 hours. The product went on white and dried clear. It was dry enough to walk on in 24 hours. I used about 3 gallons of product.

My pool deck looks great, almost like new. I recommend this product to any DIY’er. All you have to do is read the instructions, watch the video and do what they say. My next project is my paver driveway (@ 4,000 sq ft).

I have already purchased Black Diamond Dominator Paver Sealer for this. I am confident that the process and results will be similar.

I have yet to use anything that’s really one step whether it be paint or something like this. It looks great with 2 coats, so make sure and get enough. You can tell that one coat will work but 2 makes it shine, somewhat a semi gloss to gloss look.

I used this on unsealed concrete floors that were polished to 400 grit, really brought the dept out. The back of the bottle should be pictured so when you get it and turn it around to read “clean with Trewax floor cleaner first” you won’t wish to have known to get that also.

I used TSP instead to clean my floors. I had windows open with a fan blowing through one to exhaust the fumes while applying. Fumes fade away completely after 2 or 3 days.

After researching found this was a good brand. I have not used it yet because my bathroom has not been finished yet.

I bought hand made saltillo tile out of Mexico. This product has been the only sealer/wax that has worked to protect it. The rest are poor contenders.

I’m not sure who thought using white grout on a bathroom floor would be a good idea but they did, and by the time I moved in, it was filthy. I purchased Aqua-X to clean it and. WOW! It worked fabulously! I was able to restore the grout to pristine white then added a sealant to keep it clean.

Definitely would recommend!!!.

I asked for a gloss finish for the shower floor and was told to use the grout sealer. The finish is very flat. Seems to repel water well but not the look I wanted. Disappointed

We built a new house & sealed all floor & shower grout. I got this product for the showers. So far so good! For easier application, I poured the product into a bottle made for applying sealer. It worked great.

The product shields water *********** by beading up & rolling off. Showers look brand new after a month of use. I’d give a 4. 5 to this product only because we transferred to a different bottle for easier application.

Good product. Does what it says. Easy instructions. Not yet sure how durable it is. I have applied three coats to our stone steps and it certainly “toned” the steps to a “wet look” look. But they are already showing signs of fading back to original look after just 4 weeks and no foot traffic on them.

I will redcoat them when warmer weather allows and keep them under review.

First coat dried dull and powdery. Second coat also dull and powdery! Stones were dry, clean and oil free. There’s no reason why it should of done this! My friend recommended this product, said it was awesome.

This was not my experience.

Used this on the field stone behind our wood burning stove. This made the stones look very detailed. Went on easy, no real smell. Looks great!!!

My contractor who first installed my slate floor in the kitchen recommended Miracle Sealants 511 Porous Plus Sealer ProfessionalS Choice. -V168* After 16 years the floor looks brand new! It’s not cheap, but the sealer is guaranteed to last 20 years.

And it applies easily with a white washcloth, which I find lets you do it very evenly. Though the instructions say they sell an applicator. If you want to only seal your floor every 20 years, invest extra money for a professional grade sealer.

Thought the sealer would seal the stone not change it surface. To my surprise it transformed the stone from polished to honed… Now it looks more likely to receive a stain than ever. I would like to know how to return the stone (which is brand new) to its original shine.

Used wet pumice to remove heavy soap buildup dripping down from soap shelf onto natural stone in shower stall. Cleaned it off well and waited 24 hrs before applying this Impregnator 511. It has been 3 days and the area of the natural stone (limestone like?) that I cleaned looks great.

Color has not changed. Looks like it did when initially installed. So far, very pleased with the results.

Very nicely packaged- prevented accidental spills from drops. Thank you for that! As for the product, I’ve used it before and it’s great. Now I have a regular seller I can look for that I know will be reliable! Looking forward to doing business again.

Never dries- stays tacky. I followed the instructions to the letter for this product and it simply never fully cures. Two weeks after application it remains somewhat tacky. I will be using a different product simply to correct the mess this product made.

I would not recommend this for stone tiles- I doubt it works well for any tile but can only speak to using it on stone tiles and I say don’t waste your time or money on it.

Needed to seal crackle finish tiles before grouting. This product did this perfectly. Easy to apply and being water-based no smell!! Actually used very little so very economical.

The product was easy to apply and had no unpleasant odor. I like the finish because looks natural and not as if it is sealed. That means however, it is porous. Little spills happen all the time time on a kitchen counter, if cleaned up right as they occur, they will not leave too much dis-colorization of the grout, but if left to sit will cause a stain.

I have found that if I occasionally make a paste of OxiClean and water and spread it over the counter tiles and grout, the grout will return to being white.

I used this on sanded grout lines only, (not the tile) that had 12” by 12” porcelain tiles and approximately 300 square feet. It was very easy to apply. I used a grout sealer applicator bottle with a wheel and did two coats.

I tested the before and after water absorption rate by placing an equal amount of clear water on the treated grout and non-treated grout for 60 seconds each (my theoretical reaction time and clean up time for a spill).

I found substantial absorption in the non-treated area and no water absorption in the treated area. I have a very chemically sensitive family and we did find the smell from drying and curing (about 24 hours) did cause some minor and temporary problems.

Also I thought the price was very reasonable for the amount but in non-porous applications like mine, even with 2 coats 1 gallon is way more than needed. A quart would have been plenty. Lastly, Green Building Supply did a great job of answering my questions, contacting the manufacturer when required, and expediting my orders!.

The Granite Gold Sealer works in perfect combination with other Granite Gold products, such as the polish. The sealer is used daily in my household to prevent dirt, build-up and scratches. Seeing scratches your stone is very upsetting.

I have several scratches on my granite countertop. While this product doesn’t remove the scratches (nor does it claim to) it does help to prevent further damage. I let my children color and paint with their supplies on my countertop.

Naturally they tend to pick up anything without a care. After using this sealer, I haven’t noticed anymore visible scratches. The sealer works as a protective barrier against damage. When used in conjunction with the Daily Cleaner and Polish, it works wonders to upkeep my stone.

My countertop is far from new but because I take care of it using these safe products, I often receive compliments. I love that this spray doesn’t contain harsh chemicals. I have sensitive skin and have accidentally touched it while spraying the product and I did not experience any issues.

The formula is mild on skin but tough against dirt, grime, fingerprints and scratches. I highly recommend using this product in conjunction with the cleaner, polish and wipes to keep your stone looking new.

There was no doubt in my mind that my kitchen’s granite countertops needed to be resealed; I didn’t even need to do a water test, as it was obvious. Years ago, I sealed a bathroom vanity top that was never sealed.

The vanity top had years of damage and water was penetrating immediately. I made a huge error in not letting the vanity top dry completely (it would take hours) and unfortunately, I sealed in the water stains.

Determined to not repeat that mistake, I let my countertops dry until there was no doubt in my mind the area around the faucet (with the most damage) was completely dry. We have two smaller sections of granite and one very large island, so I employed my hubby to follow behind after I sprayed Granite Gold Sealer, in an effort to create an even, streak-free protective seal.

We applied three coats, spaced about 30 minutes apart, then followed up two days later with Granite Gold Polish. My countertops finally bead up and shine. I can’t believe the difference and the best part is that it was simple to apply, I believe a novice DIYer can apply with ease.

We use Granite Gold Daily Cleaner for the safe, ongoing care of the countertops and we plan on reapplying once a year for maintenance. If you want a food safe and effective sealer, look no further!.

I use the Granite Gold cleaning and polishing products, and there is a very noticeable difference before and after use. Unfortunately, the sealer doesn’t provide the immediate gratification that you get with the others.

After applying it, you know it is there and working to protect your counter, so it is more about feeling good that you have done everything possible to keep your counters looking good. Applying it is very straightforward.

There is a bit of a chemical smell, whereas the cleaners and polishers smell much better- a light citrus-like scent. The sealer smells something like what you’d expect from a glue. It dissipates quickly and isn’t overwhelming at all.

The directions warn about hazing, so I worked pretty fast- wiping and buffing- and didn’t detect any hazing. After application, there aren’t any visual clues, but you know the sealer is there. It is smooth, but not slippery, like it feels right after a polishing.

The Granite Gold cleaning and polishing products are fantastic, so I am confident the sealer is just as good. I will keep using it.

Would give it a five but just not sure that it’s doing anything that the high traffic floor finish by zep isn’t doing. It does go down really smooth and glides easily, easier than the finish does on stripped floor but I don’t think it makes the finish shine anymore than just putting the finish on but it’s a really good product.

Haven’t tried it on really worn tile yet I’m hoping it helps those floors look better.

I applied 3 coats of this sealer to concrete that we had applied water based concrete stain to. We got great yield, the product appears to be tough as iron, and we are happy with the way it went on as well as it appears.

You can spend $100 or more on sealer if you want to waste your money. The cost of this product was about $16. Grreat price great value, great look.

I bought this originally to use in my bathroom reno; however, I used it just to see what would happen when prepping my aluminum siding for paint. WOW! I “mopped” it on with one coat and then rinsed after a couple of minutes and it took it down to the aluminum right where it needed to be.

It is wonderful! I wish I could find it in a larger size.

It’s OK at cleaning tiles and grout, but don’t expect a miracle as plenty of scrubbing still is necessary. My main complaint is the awful chemical smell that made me feel dizzy and nauseated despite adequate ventilation.

Due to the health hazard I therefore cannot recommend this product.

I have been using this for my bathrooms for years it cleans tile like no other, and the place I used to get it from stopped selling it. Thanks to Walmart for carrying this product – who would have thought – you are always my go to store!!.

Miracle 511 Seal & Enhance brought out the colors of our slate steps. We are also pleased it is not slippery when wet.

The grout on our floors were never sealed tiles were installed about 8 years ago grout is about a medium grey color. Well i have 4 small dogs that have accidents I wear my shoes in my home the grout got very dirty.

I seen a you tube video on cleaning grout it showed how to make a tool using a oxo good grip soap dispensing palm brush it has a hole in the center the you get a carriage bolt nut and washer put bolt nut washer onto the brush bought the tilelab tile and grout cleaner I got both the gallon jug and the1 quart spray bottle it did not say how much coverage started my cleaning sprayed on grout lines full strength small area at a time waited 15 minutes used the brush I had made with a cordless drill scrubbed grout then tile.

I can say it worked better than I thought it would tile and grout look brand new I am more than happy. Coverage all I can say is it goes a long way did not need the gallon jug. I was amazed with this product but the brush on the drill helped.

I purchased this to clean grout that was freshly installed 8 months ago. This grout was not overly dirty. I tried the product and used a scrubber from Home Depot designed for grout cleaning. I did a side by side comparison with hot water and they looked the same when dry, still dirty! I used some water mixed with vinegar and this cleaned 3 times better then the Home Depot garbage.

Don’t waste you time. Taking mine back for the next victim to use.
