20 Best Cereals For Pregnancy (2022 Updated)

Netrition invited me to review this product that I recently purchased. I tried this brand because the Healthwise/Healthy Living cereals that we regularly buy and eat have been out of stock for a while.

I went all out and bought several different flavors of Catalina Crunch (about 8 packets – Chocolate Banana, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cinnamon Toast and Dark Chocolate). My mistake. I should’ve tried just one packet and saved my money.

This cereal is beyond horrible. The taste is very artificial. It’s like eating cardboard. I thought at first, maybe I chewed on the box! It leaves an unpleasant after-taste that should not be in any food.

Texture is very odd, as well. It’s not pleasantly crunchy but rather hard on the teeth. Worst of all, this cereal gave me and my son stomach problem (I will not go into detail here which room in our house we ended up spending most of our time after eating this cereal.

Suffice it to say. it was bad!). For those of you who are still waiting for Healthwise/Health Living cereals to be in stock, well, keep on waiting, folks. Catalina Crunch cereals will NEVER be in my shopping cart, again.

I ordered these through a FB ad and was looking forward to a healthier type Chex Mix. I was very disappointed in the variety pack I received. The spice mixture in one bag was unevenly distributed; some items were super spicy and others had very little of the mixture on it.

Further, my bags were a bit stale. I did not get any great crunch; just a weirdness biting into the mix. This was especially true for the little wagon wheel shapes. They were crumbly and just did nothing for one’s palate.

Maybe these are a more healthy alternative to Chex Mix, but they need to distribute the spices better and work on the texture. For the amount of money I spent, I’d rather go back to Chex Mix and get all the different flavors with better consistency in the blend.

Will not buy again.

I don’t really know why I really love this cereal but it helps with staving off hunger until lunchtime and with regularity. I know 10 gms of sugar is a lot, but parts of that sugar are molasses and barley malt which are good complex sugars.

This cereal would have to sit in the bowl for a very long time before it got soggy. It has never happened to me and sometimes I get it ready and then feed cats or kids or parent. I get back to it and it’s still got crunch.

It also have really nice flavor w/o a lot of sweet. There is some sugar of some form in it, but just a touch. If you didn’t tell me, I might be tempted to ask if there was any. But I guess that bit of sugar keeps it from being bitter.

There is just a nice oatmeal kind of flavor only with that crunch. I also find it kinda nice to eat dry, out of the box as a healthy snack alternative. BTW, Barbara’s uses non-GMO ingredients. I wish it came in a bigger box ! We go through it fast.

This oat cereal is very tasty! It has a bit of sweetness when you chew but not a sweet as other Oat Cereal (like Quaker’s version). Each piece is quite big so a few pieces are actually quite filling, especially for the morning!.

I’m in the “elderly” and “special diet to stay alive” category — so have to look away from all the charming photos of super-sweet cereal breakfasts, even yours. But I LOVE the unsweetened cereal, not just for breakfast — I garnish my almond/frozen cauliflower/unsweetened cocoa smoothies with a spoonful or two and it adds the perfect crunch, and offsets the sweet powdered monk fruit.

I’ll also add some to a dinner dish that needs a bit more safe starch. Delicious, nutritious! Thanks for this product that’s been a staple of my diet since receiving a serious diagnosis 2 years ago, and has helped me heal! Literally a lifesaver.

I’ve been waiting for a cereal like this for at least a decade. NO sugar. I repeat, NO SUGAR. Next, HIGH PLANT-BASED PROTEIN. I’m so tired of seeing cereals made with whey protein (and soy protein, which I’ve never liked).

It tastes even better than the similar oat-based O-shaped cereal you’re thinking of. I love adding fruits to my bowl, whether they’re frozen, dried, or fresh. I can create a unique flavor with the unsweetened base every single day.

I have been searching for a box of cereal with this kind of ingredients for a very long time. I thought I found a few but later discovered that the labeling contents were deceptive. I recently tried your Three Wishes Cereal (Honey flavored), and was pleasantly surprised with how it tasted.

considering how healthy it is according to the ingredients posted. I also tried your unsweetened box but was disappointed due to the amount of sodium content. Please alter the amount of salt you put into the unsweetened cereal.

It has been my experience that the nutrition facts and the ingredients are the most important information to read on all food products. Thank you for your vision and the results of it. I give the honey flavor two thumbs up!! I look forward to purchasing it again.

this is one of my new favorites! It’s simple yet tasty and doesn’t have tons of sugar or bad ingredients like some cereals do. I like the texture variety of all the little pieces. It tastes like a thicker better cheerio type crunch but with a honey flavor and tastes better.

I let mine get soggy but yeah haha. The puff pieces are good too. I pick this brand over others because of their plant based and nutritionally focused ingredients. I need to know what I’m putting in my body.

Buying this again.

This cereal is sooooo good. It tastes like a healthy version of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but better because it’s even crunchier. I used oat milk to keep it vegan and it was delicious. Great snack when I’m craving something sweet.

The Kashi Go labeled “11 g” protein is a different product than the box labeled “12 g” protein. The color is pale, the cereal is coarser, and it smells like petroleum. I have been eating Kashi GO Lean original every morning for 15 years so this is terribly disappointing.

I actually contacted Kashi and they said they had changed their production site and thus the formula. They would not tell me where the cereal is now made. I’m writing this so others might notice and complain about the change.

Years ago my doctor had recommended a popular supermarket brand of fiber cereal, right after a difficult emergency surgical procedure. I have NEVER liked that brand due to some of its questionable ingredients.

However, when Natures Path came out with Organic Smart Bran, I was so excited to have a healthier option since I eat one serving of this each day to help meet my 35-40g fiber goal per day which is a lot if you are watching carbs and calories.

1/2 cup provides up to 52% of national daily fiber recommendations. In my case about 37%. I eat six small meals per day. I include this as one of my quick-and-easy snacks and meals. On-the-go convenience with a glass of milk, kefir, or as a crunchy topping.

I like to make a nutty ‘trail mix’ with it as well. Very tasty sustainable energy for hiking and camping trips. I love this cereal. It taste great. Its already perfectly sweetened with evaporated can juice, but not too sweet, so its perfect with unsweetened milk as well.

This cereal is just. so good. I’m not a huge cinnamon fan but I figured I’d give it a shot for my kids to munch on and it’s really good. Not too sweet, and has subtle hints of spices. I don’t know if the name “warm cinnamon oat” is supposed to imply you can eat it warm, but it has a warm cinnamon oatmeal flavor.

I discovered this during sweater weather and it’s just such a tasty cozy little snack to munch with hot coffee or enjoy in a bowl with milk.

I’ve been using this brand of cereal for years. It has less sugar (5g) per serving than the other processed cereals and less salt too. I’ve had a lot of trouble getting this in the market. Ralph’s stopped carrying this product.

So did Von’s. I like this cinnamon one because it has more “zip” in flavor. I take only 1/2 to 3/4 cup even though it says to use a cup. I’m on WW so I watch my portions. I put in fruit , flaxseed meal and Lactaid non fat milk.

Oh by the way, I used to get this on Amazon and can’t get it there anymore! With Walmart, I get this online. Got used to doing online shopping since last year. so, yes, I recommend it.

I find that when I purchase this cereal through Walmart, the cereal shapes themselves are larger/puffier than when I purchase it through Target (smaller sized). I’m sure it has something to do with production, but I find this rather interesting.

Regardless, with cereal being a not-so-healthy breakfast, I find peace of mind that this cereal is organic and oat based plus lower in sugar compared to other cereals.

Not sure how this can be called Mom’s Best Cereal and have 18g of sugar per cup/serving. This is more than typical sugary cereals I avoid and near the maximum recommended amount of grams of sugar a child should consume in a day.

Add milk and you’ve gone over the sugar gram max in breakfast alone. I noticed the sugar content while we were eating breakfast and couldn’t believe how much sugar this had! We may as well be eating candy bars for breakfast.

I bought this online on a whim because I’ve seen it near the other organic, less sugary cereals and needed a quick cereal option for drive-up. My mistake. I regret not looking at the nutrition info like I regularly do.

I would not have purchased it if I would have seen the number of grams of sugar. Just want other families be informed.

Yum. I’m an adult but I like to have a bowl of this now and then to satisfy a sweet craving. And I don’t feel like the worst parent giving it to my kiddo occasionally. I appreciate the lack of artificial ingredients that many other cereals have.

Especially good topped with fresh strawberries or bananas ;-).

Literally THE BEST cereal ever. Our entire family enjoys this cereal and I appreciate knowing that the ingredients are NOT 100% junk. They have such a great flavor and turn the milk chocolate, which is a fun treat at the end 🙂 I feel like the price point is fantastic for a product that prioritizes healthier ingredients than your run-of-the-mill sugary cereal.

I tried Forager Organic Grain free 0s Strawberry. I loved the slight sweetness at first but noticed almost right away that it has an odd taste and an after taste. I also felt an odd sensation in my mouth.

Similar to a slight burning feeling. A feeling similar to having eaten something too spicy. This is the only way that I can describe this. I’m returning it to Whole Foods. Very disappointed. I love their Forager Probiotic drinks! Delicious.

I really enjoy this cereal. It has about 3 different textured items in it. One which is a larger disk shape, another which is a circular puff shape, and another smaller one which is an oval shape. The cereal has a slight vanilla flavor and lots of crunch.

Pairs well with blueberries and bananas. I personally don’t think you can tell it’s gluten free. It’s also on the healthier side for a cereal which is a win. My only issue is with the smaller about you get compared to other cereals.

But so long as you’re aware of this you just plan accordingly.

It’s really tasty! I love those peanut butter flavor more than the other flavors Kashi has to offer. The cereal crunch isn’t too hard where it’ll break your teeth when you bite down, it’s just right for texture and it’s very nutritious.

High in protein and low in sugar, best way to start your day is with a bowl of this cereal. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a peanut buttery cereal with a crunch and high in protein!.

A great cereal that I think tastes great without milk! The portion size is actually very small and has some dense calories, so I tend to sprinkle it over yogurt for a filling breakfast or snack and it’s really delicious.

Also, a box will last you a while if you eat the advertised portion. Perfect plant based protein.

I used to love Reese’s cereal – but I knew it was more of a dessert indulgence lacking nutrients + the main thing I was loving was the crunch and peanut buttery goodness. This cereal might lack the chocolate aspect but it sure satisfies my craving with less guilt.

Pro tip: have a bowl with half this cereal and half chocolate kashi ;).

I just tried this cereal for the first time last week and I’m already on the second box. It’s sooo good! I’ve read some bad reviews on other sites regarding the lack of blueberry clusters. I didn’t notice that with my first box.

Now that I’m on the second, the clusters are noticeably absent. I shook the box up and even pulled out the bag to see if they were all on the bottom. Nope, this box had about five clusters total. I was so disappointed.

I’ll continue to buy them because the flakes are good also, in hopes that the quality control will be addressed.

YUM! Love it! I can’t tolerate wheat due to GI issues. I’m not a huge fan of strawberries, the acid level sets off my GI issues. But Blueberries? They tie with Bananas for my fave fruits. Kashi has combined them splendidly in this cereal with oat flakes.

Flakes. Not O’s, not chunky squares, not life size squares, not gluey glop, but flakes! Talk about a texture I don’t find oats in commonly. They are the perfect amount of sweet – no where near being diabetic coma inducing sweet like many flakes covered in frost, and neither dry and flavorless like rolled out cardboard.

These flakes are glazed slightly in syrup for a lovely shine that is visually appealing while the flavor is like a party for your taste buds. (Though with the carb count of 42 and 11 grams of sugar offset by 6 grams of fiber, if you are a diabetic, I recommend pairing this with some good protein.

Try a milk with a higher protein content if you can only get in the bowl of cereal. ).

This is currently our favorite cereal and always keep 2-3 boxes in our pantry. Very flavorful and not too sweet. Blueberry clusters are a nice touch. It’s also much healthier than other cereals on the shelves.

Got one word. Yuck. I’ve tried all different types of cereals and this by far leaves a bad after taste in coating on my tongue. BLEEECH! This is too bad, I was looking forward to trying to goto this brand bit to no avail the texture and aftertaste was the final blow to not eating this again.

KASHI work on different textures, pleae get away from Soy products not everyone cares for additives of soybean extracts.

The cereal was great! The boxes looked like someone had played football with them. The packages inside the boxes were still in tack, just the boxes were a bit beat up. That’s why I gave it a four instead of a five.

Product was here when it was suppose to be.

This cereal is Amazing! It is SOOO good it’s ridiculous. It’s got the perfect amount of crunch mixed with the perfect amount of sweet berries. This is hands down my favorite cereal! I think the value is great! You’re getting a great tasting cereal that’s actually good for you without all those nasty additives.

So worth the extra few cents to NOT have ALLLLL that sugar, high fructose corn syrup carcenogenics. Go Kashi! ☺️😍.

I tend to choose healthier cereal over sugary, sweet-tasting cereals. Kashi cereals have never disappointed me. Although I lean more toward healthier cereals, I cannot imagine many disliking this Honey Almond Flax cereal.

Oddly enough, I do not usually enjoy eating almonds but this cereal is AMAZING. The honey gives it a naturally sweet taste and the texture is crunchy. This cereal is packed with nutrients and is high in protein.

It is absolutely a MUST try. Easily one of my favorite cereals!.

If you love oats with milk, then you’ll love this cereal. Eighty percent of it is oat filler. It’s like chewing on soggy sawdust. I expected a mix of different ingredients (with maybe just a little bit of a crunch).

Instead what I got was one boring texture and one boring flavor. Oats.

I bought fruit and nut flavour for the very first time and honestly it has an amazing taste? i would recommend this to everyone? should try it once!!
