They are beautiful and could be used in some sort of fashion assemblage. But to try and break them down, or crush them in order to make cinnamon powder–that’s not going to happen. The fragrance and flavor of Ceylon cinnamon is ever so minimalist.

If your interest in Ceylon is for medicinal or health purposes, you can purchase it in powdered form here in one or 2lb bags. I will use my quills to tie with ribbons for holiday packages. And to make little Ceylon bouquets (with a nice dusting of store-bought cinnamon at bottom of little containers).

Ah, you might also want to use the quills to break down somewhat and use then to make tea!!.

Was hesitant to purchase this product from Amazon, even though it was listed as from this seller. However, upon receipt,I found that it is, indeed, the real thing. The sticks are as described, the scent and flavor profile are amazing in the least.

Glad I bought a whole pound of the stuff, because it will be used up quickly in all the spice blends I plan to make. Overall, very satisfied with my purchase and I highly recommend this product.

I’d heard for some time about cinnamon being good for people like me who have adult-onset diabetes, and I’d tried using cinnamon in both capsule form and as a spice added to my morning oatmeal, but with no noticeable result other than the pill form causing me some stomach irritation after a while.

It was only recently that I found out that I was using the wrong kind of cinnamon. Apparently the cinnamon most people are familiar with – the kind most stores carry – is a different variety completely and not the kind recommended for diabetics.

The “true” cinnamon – cinnamomum verum – is Ceylon (or Sri Lanka) cinnamon, whereas the cinnamon most people are familiar with is actually something called cassia cinnamon – the most common varieties known as Saigon cinnamon, China cinnamon and Indonesia cinnamon.

Ceylon cinnamon is milder in taste and contains much less of a substance called coumarin, which can cause liver and kidney problems in high concentrations. This may explain why I have not experienced the kind of stomach irritation from Ceylon cinnamon that I was getting from the capsules of cassia cinnamon.

I’m trusting that these are actually organic and actually Ceylon Cinnamon. I steeped one in my tea for 10 minutes and didn’t have any negative effects from doing this 3 nights in a row. I really enjoy Ceylon Cinnamon and need a good source to keep coming back to.

These are amazing!! They break up easily, yet retain the fresh taste until you finally break them up and run through a spice mill. I always have wonderfully full-flavored cinnamon on hand!

I love the sticks and grind my own cinnamon that way you always have fresh cinnamon. The aroma is awesome when your done grinding. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in fresh cinnamon.

The cinnamon sticks arrived within the time period stated. When ground, they smell very fresh – more so than what I buy at the store.

I did receive my beautiful cinnamon sticks quite promptly. I am impressed with the quality. I use one daily as a stir stick for my hot tea, and these ones are good enough that I can use the same one for several successive cups of tea.

I’ve been looking for a good source of Ceylon cinnamon quills since Cinnamon Hill went out of business. Most of the Ceylon cinnamon quills available commercially are completely dead sawdust; at least these have a decent flavor to them, but still not nearly as bright and flavor packed as the best Ceylon cinnamon quills I’ve had.

A pleasant but mild flavor. The quills are quite fragile and are easily crushed. None of that is necessarily a negative, but for my use, the more robust flavor of the cassia bark is preferred.

If you cook Sri Lankan food, you need this type of cinnamon. Perfect for making curries and homemade curry powder. Other cinnamons are just not the right variety and do not impart the correct flavour for Sri Lankan savoury dishes.

OMGoodness. Fresh cinnamon sticks is such a splurge for me. Highly recommend this purchase although I must admit I didn’t have a clue how many equals a pound. They did fit in 50 oz glass jar sealed air tight.

So in this instance a pint is not a pound, lol. Love the convenience!.

These cinnamon sticks are fresh and they make wonderful tea (hot or iced). Just add 2 cinnamon sticks to 1/2 gallon of water and bring to a boil. Let them steep for 20 – 60 mins depending on your preference.

Then add a little sweetener if you like — it’s already a little sweet so you may not even need sweetener. We add Sweet Leaf Stevia. Then we either drink it hot or iced.

Opening your box made me feel like a kid again on Christmas morning. I love the ceylon cinnamon sticks and what a huge surprise to see how many come in one pound! I ground 4 of them up, which makes about 2 ounces, and now the whole kitchen smells wonderful.

I’ve already tried some in my coffee and on a peanut butter snack, which are both delightful. I have heard it’s the best cinnamon on the planet, and now I know why, plus at these prices, it’s so easy to have.

We used to get the large bags of organic ceylon cinnamon stick which were excellent and well priced for the quality and quanity. The Spicely Organic do not begin to be as good and the price for six of these is outrageous.

We have been ordering products from Vita Cost for a few years and this is the first time we have been disappointed. We have found two other sources for the pound bags of organic Ceylon Sticks and regrettably, we will be ordering from another company if Vitacost is no longer selling these by the time we find it necessary to replenish our remaining stock.

How many of you like Ceylon Cinnamon ? I wish I could get used to the flavor because its supposed to be healthier for you. I like Saigon Cinnamon, which is the kind most of us use. However, Spicely Organics has a very good quality of Ground Organic Ceylon cinnamon powder.

To me, it smells like nutmeg, and tastes like cinnamon that went bad, BUT, that is just because I have no taste buds for Ceylon Cinnamon. If you like Ceylon cinnamon, this is a very pure brand. Try some.

This was a set of 3 btls. however; one btl. was not sealed properly and cinnamon was everywhere. Also, the cap of one btl. slightly cracked. I have yet to use the product and hope it’s better than its packaging.

I put a couple of hefty shakes in my coffee every morning, and now coffee is so much more enjoyable. The cinnamon doesn’t dissolve so you have to kind of stir it up every once in a while or it settles to the bottom of your cup.

Also use it in raw organic apple cider vinegar, along with a little honey in a glass of water, and now drink that every morning on an empty stomach. Does not taste good at all, but cinnamon and honey definitely make it more palatable.

This combination has been said to reduce the body’s acidity, which can lead to issues like arthritis. I have arthritis and a lot of cervical spine issues. Hoping this will make a difference. One thing I haven’t tried yet is actually baking with it.

But, here come the holidays!! It has a spicer, yet somehow milder (?) taste and aroma, hard to explain. Just tastes more cinnamon-ey, I guess. I will never, ever go back to regular old cassia cinnamon again.

I only eat organic and especially those things that would have been sprayed with an herbicide or pesticide were they not organically grown. Cinnamon is one of those things that we hear about that artificial contents are added.

These cinnamon sticks defiantly are the real thing. They are hearty with the magic of opening your senses to the dreams and memories of all the past times so memorable to you.

I love using these in lattes. My only critique would be that they’re not as long as I was hoping. They sink into drinks I make rather than staying up so I can use them to stir. They taste really good though and I like the ps lagging.

Easy storage and use.

This is my first negative review of a TM product. There is zero cinnamon taste and barely any cinnamon smell. It’s quite strange. Would not buy these again without some kind of explanation/fix.

This cinnamon has a delicious smell and flavor. I love the size of the cinnamon sticks, too.

Like the small size! good cinnamon

The size of these cinnamon sticks fit perfect in the small glass jar, and have a fresh smell. My sweet potatoes were left with that good cinnamon taste.

When I received these sticks, upon smelling (and nibbling one) the first sensation is that of pure warmth. I cannot think of a better way to describe it. I bought a larger batch due to the decreasing price per stick when in bulk and I’m surprised i don’t see that as often with other vendors.

The take home message is that ground cinnamon tastes like sawdust and fresh ground cinnamon is nothing short of special. The same can be said with any whole spices, since quality and convenience are rarely seen holding hands.

I find it interesting the description mentions making cinnamon sugar with a jar. A similar wonderful effect can be done with Beanilla’s used pods for making vanilla sugar. These are absolutely worth having around, almost like aged sugar.

It provides depth to sweets and more.

I ordered Ceylon cinnamon because it has the lowest level of Coumarin about 0. 017g/kg, whereas Indonesian cinnamon has 2. 15g/kg Coumarin. The FDA warns against heavy intake of Coumarin as it can have an adverse effect on the liver.

My interest in Ceylon cinnamon is in combination with B6 and food with natural manganese will help lower the blood pressure. I understand you have Ceylon cinnamon in ground version and awaiting your next shipment.

I regularly chew on cinnamon as opposed to gum. These cinnamon sticks are by far the best I’ve ordered. They’re spicy, sweet, and perfect thickness.
