20 Best Chai Tea Bags (2022 Updated)

Pre-made chai can be pretty hit or miss, especially when there are chemical “flavoring” added. I do love chai but often I get an allergic reaction to the chemical flavoring ones, so avoid it. I had a feeling this one would be a chemical type because it does list flavor as an ingredient and have reluctantly had it in my wishlist for over a year.

I love Twinning’s Lapsong tea (unique enchanting smoked taste!) and it seems like a reliable brand. Finally, the hot summer made me long for familiar autumn and spicy pumpkin flavors so much, I decided to take a chance.

First off, it tastes really good. It does sort of have a bit of a high end Pumpkin spice scented candle feeling, but to be honest, that is pretty much what I wanted. I’m not in the US, so the autumn smells and tastes I love are missed and this delivers a nice version of them that unmistakably says AUTUMN SPICE.

The pumpkin flavor is not too pronounced, it more rounds out and adds a bit of smoothness and autumn feeling, which is great. More pumpkin would be nice, but as it, it’s enough. I’m considering adding it to a kabocha squash baked goods recipe.

The chai aspect of it is also good, I’d consider getting their regular chai based on it. It does have a bit more peppery flavor than I like, but it seems to be an endnote and isn’t too obtrusive. I’m surprised the flavoring doesn’t bother my throat because most flavored stuff does, so they must be using a very high quality and real source for the flavor, not too artificial plastic junk.

It doesn’t taste totally natural, of course, nothing like this is, but what flavored notes are there are pleasant and importantly of the season rather than reminiscent of a cheap harsh potpourri. Overall, I’m very happy I finally tried it and will likely get it again.

Even takin a sniff of the tea in the box makes me happy. They are in classy looking individual packets so you could even gift them. Good work Twinnings!.

I first had a delicious cup of chai tea 🍵, from some local bakery in NYC as a teenager and I couldn’t really do regular tea again. The Twinings of London Chai tea is simply exquisite to say the least.

The aroma alone is quite delectable but the taste as soon as it hits my tongue is quite delicious. From the lovely hints of cinnamon and cardamom to the light taste of clove and ginger. This is a real winner! If I’m correct they even have a spiced one.

You can have quite a delicious cup of tea daily or just for lounging around or a nice little destress of calming, anytime of day without leaving your home.

The French vanilla chai tea was very savory. My favorite spiced Chai ever. I don’t love the distinct flavor of tea, especially the herbal kind. In fact I only started drinking tea because Tom Hiddleston does.

He drinks Earl Grey tea and I haven’t had the opportunity to try it yet but soon. Anyways, this tea has a very pleasant spiced flavor that I associate with winter, which happens to be my favorite season.

It reminds me of fireplaces and warmth and it reminds me of home even though I never leave mine. The camomile was good as well but there’s a hint of that earthy flavor that I’m still not used to. It’s very subtle but I still find it quite endearing just not as much as the chai.

But I liked them both so much that I bought a lot of boxes.

There are several reasons I’m giving this tea 5 stars. First, the quality is remarkable and the flavor is very distinct and robust of Ceylon, Assam, and Darjeeling. There’s no second guessing that it’s not a breakfast blend! Another is because It’s made of entirely of all fruits, spices, and flowers- not just “ flavors or fragrances.

” When you sip on this beautiful tea you taste nothing but quality. 1 tea bag steeped for 5 minutes makes a delicious cup. It’s never weak and I even use a little milk with mine. The last reason I prefer the Numi brand and for the 5 star rating is the company is more then just about making tea.

They care about the environment by using recyclable boxes, natural compostable tea bags, and cultivation that protects the planet and their farmers who get a vote how to invest their funds so they can empower their lives and reduce poverty.

This was my first ever chai many years ago. And it’s still one of my very favourites. Very flavourful but not overpowering. No one ingredient takes over. A beautiful smooth blend. I love the company history also and believe them to follow ethical and ecological business processes.

A smooth tasting Gunpowder tea. No harsh strong flavors taking over your cup and ruining your tea moment. It just glides gently down. Blends well with other teas, like Jasmine, Rooibos, and mint. A good brain fog kicker, just like Emperor tea.

Blends well with maca, peptides, and mushroom powders too.

Bought and received at end of Dec 2021, was tasteless and non fragrant, checked and the expiry date is 2-3 months away so these are old and stale. Contacted owner, they asked what the issue is and they haven’t responded after I told them the above.

I’m bringing back to store for refund! I just saw that the only other review for this says the same as mine. They’re selling products at the end of shelf life so it would be discounted not 16 bucks for 24 tea bags!!.

Teavana puts out excellent tees and this one is no exception ! This is a truly delicious mint tea absolutely perfect before bed, or anytime that youd like to just sit back and relax. 🙂

I purchased this large quantity because the product appears to no longer be available in tea bag form. I discovered Teavana Passion Tango Tea in bottles but wanted to make my own and discovered these bags.

Fortunately I should have enough for a long time.

A number of years ago I went on a search for a nice smooth, not bitter tea to have before bedtime. I wanted no caffeine, but also didn’t want the “laxative properties” that chamomile/chamomile blends have.

This tea has beyond fit the bill, it is delicate enough to enjoy on its own without a sweetener or with honey/sugar. It’s always in our pantry and is a huge hit with all ages, something very fun and special we can share with the kids too- no need for the extra sugar in hot cocoa! In my opinion, this is a crowd pleaser and could very easily become a staple- should it ever be most unfortunately discontinued- we would be hard pressed to find an equal contender.

LOVE, LOVE LOVE this tea!! I can make regular chai tea or do an iced chai latte and it’s wonderful for both. I’ve tried the Tazo brand and it just didn’t stand up to this one. I sometimes like to put a bunch together and make a pitcher (I use boiling water and then put it in the fridge after it’s steeped) and I end up drinking it all in a couple days.

I like to add some French vanilla creamer and it’s perfect. If I’m feeling frisky I will add some cinnamon dolce syrup to it. Definitely a staple product in my home!!.

I have been drinking this tea exclusively every morning for about two years. I love it. So much flavor. Sometimes I put frothy milk in it for extra fun. Highly recommend if you like the aroma and taste of those spices.

is a delicate tea with a delicate flavor. It’s refreshing taken with or without sweetener. Its a great tea for a great price! I love the packaging, makes me feel fancy. This also has a wonderful subtle smell.

This is another one of my go to teas. I love the mix of green and white for the maximum antioxidant power. Tastes good, nice and light unless you brew it too long. I also cold brew this on a bottle by filling my water bottle dropping the bag in and taking it out while at work.

I know it’s not the recommended brewing but I enjoy it this way.

The flavor is a five star. The reason I gave it four-star is because they use a plastic teabag instead of paper/compostable. Not mentioned on description. ( if you heard about the problem with plastic bags).

Great Black Tea – these days it is harder to find a quality Black Tea anywhere especially as most retailers mix Black teas up with fruit infusions that they call Tea – so it is increasingly difficult to find real tea of such high quality at a good price!.

I am a huuuge tea lover and this tea is my new-found love. I love how it smells like a cinnamon bun when you pour water over the ecologic package without string and label. Having no aforementioned thingies in their teas, Celestial Seasonings go about with leaving way less unnecessary residue in the world.

At times like these, when sustainability is one the largest topics of buzz, Celestial Seasonings are really playing their part considering conscious living. I support them fully and this just might be my new favorite tea brand.

One of my favorite varieties of chai! If you enjoy a spicier chai, this is the one for you! These kcups are not only easy to prepare, but they also taste great and have a full chai flavor. It definitely has a kick to it and you can taste the spices.

I really love this tea! I wasn’t sure I would like a bag tea like this but it was delicious. I mixed it with a little bit of heavy cream since I am on a Keto diet. The spice is just right, not overwhelming.

Price point is nice as well. You do not spend so much on this product and sometimes you can even find coupons.

I can’t live without my tea. This tea is very flavor full. I love all the spices which is perfect for the cold weather. It has all the masala flavor which boost your immunity too. I love this brand it come in diffent flavor.

Love this tea. It’s strong, aromatic and very energizing. I look forward to my daily cup of tea. I prefer the added spice mix of masala chai compared to the plain black tea. My friend introduced me to masala chai and I gave up on all other teas after that.

This is my go to herbal tea right now. It’s what I look forward to first thing each day☀️. Bonus: If you have any nausea or upset stomach first thing in the morning like me, this spice blend has ginger root, ( a well-known natural remedy to curb these symptoms).

It’s such a cozy tea 🫖 , but yet with the cinnamon there is a nice little kick. To top it off I put a little Og Sugar French Vanilla Creamer by [brand:international-delight], which turns it into what some people call a “dirty chai”.

Since I can’t have caffeine and I’m trying to watch my sugar intake, it’s the perfect specialty beverage I’m able to affordably make at home. No fancy appliances needed for this smooth tasting hot beverage – Just a kettle, a Red Dragon Spice [brand:stash-tea] bag, and 0g sugar French vanilla creamer.

Whats in it? Spice Dragon Chai is a blend of chai spices (cinnamon, ginger root and clove) with a rooibos base. Is it caffeine free? Yes, rooibos is a red tea made from an African bush. It’s a ‘tisane’ (non-tea).

This means it’s not created from the plant ‘black teas’ and other teas are made from, the Camellia sinensis plant.

If this had caffeine and didn’t taste almost exactly like a cinnamon heart candy with hardly any creativity I’d like it a lot more. I remember reviewing this on another website about 6 months ago saying they should have called it red dragon, black or pink dragon after the types of pepper they could have used to give this different flavors.

I think my local grocery store stopped selling it. I wasn’t impressed with this. This was at least the 4th Chai tea I’ve tried and I really like the double bergamot stash tea. Thankfully the flavor is really well blended where once it sits on your tongue it’s quite plesant, not spicy, nothing really jumping out at you.

But seriously we need our caffeine. At least have a decaf variant of this so I don’t buy it.

I have been buying this tea for several years. Stash is my favorite tea because: There is a lot more tea in their tea bags, so you can make a large mug and the tea remains very flavorful. And this is my favorite herbal tea.

Most herbal teas are just OK for me, because I only drink them when it’s later in the day and I do not want to risk sleep issues. I never find them very good, just good. But this tea is wonderful. I make a large 12 oz mug, and it is full of flavor and enjoyment!.

Bought this because it sounded tasty and because of the cheap price. Bag has a really nice fruity odour to it as well. However after a couple glasses of tea, I ended up throwing it all in the garbage.

Upon inspection of the bag, I found what looked like rabbit feces (little pellets), moth larvae (lots of them!) and pieces of green plastic. So gross. But hey it at least smelled good, right? I won’t be buying from this brand again.

What a waste of money.

Light and bright, and a bit fruity. My husband and I both really enjoy this tea! I like to add a dash of cane sugar to it as well. The box is also a great value, with 100 bags! We are still working our way through it, and the tea remains fresh even though the bags are not in individual packages (I’m fine with that, less waste!).

This is insanity 30 gr of sugar per 3/4 cup 60 percent of your daily value. All you taste is spoons after spoon of sugar than the spices ( from ginger black pepper ) will burn/ numb you. Those should be at the very end.

I got a heavy migraine drinking this even after diluting it heavily. TOO MUCH SUGAR !!! they need to cut the sugar and remove a good 3/4 of the amount. This is the most nasty “chai” i ever drink. I LOVE chai this isnt it.

Didnt taste anything like it. I will stick to chai tea bags or homemade chai with ZERO SUGAR !! this drink is so unhealthy there is more sugar than a can of coke or soda. The calories jumps to 220 calories when you add milk this is very high.

Stick to tra bags skip this drink. Too overpriced for a JUNK drink. Couldn’t even taste black tea at all and black tea is usually fairly strong. Takes a motherload of sugar to completely hide the taste of tea.

I also notice this one is not organic meaning the spices may most likely contain pesticides. No thanks. Will never buy again. I ended pouring out and trashing the rest of the carton. Can’t drink it.

I am pleased with this tea. I love chai, mr. loves pumpkin. I bought this for his drinking pleasure. However, I am pleasantly surprised to find I like it too. The pumpkin flavor is not over powering.

A bit of sugar and cream makes it a lovely tea treat. Will purchase again before it disappears with warmer weather (just in case it is seasonal).

Ive been brewing and drinking this tea for over five years now. I started when I decided to implement a “detox” program for myself because Id long been a functioning alcoholic and my doctor was increasingly concerned about it.

This particular tea was recommended to me and it became a key ingredient in my daily diet along with a dose of fresh lemon juice, organic apple cider vinegar and a dash of turmeric in an eight-ounce glass with water.

Three months later after reviewing my lab test results my doctor was smiling. I knew I was onto something and two years ago I gave up alcohol altogether. This tea has earned a place in my regular diet.

I brew enough to make 2-1/2 quarts on the stovetop and let 8 or 9 teabags steep for two to three hours. I stir in some organic honey while the pot is still semi hot, and before I pour it into a pitcher I add six or seven tablespoons of lemon juice.

I use a juicer on the lemons ahead of time and keep the juice refrigerated in a Mason jar so its always on hand. In my humble opinion this tea is not only good for your health and well being, its downright delicious.

I love Tazo’s Organic Spiced Chai Latte, it is the best of any Chai tea I’ve had. I really like the flavor and spiciness; this is where the competition has never stacked up, tasting to me rather bland in comparison.

I used to buy this from Amazon on their monthly subscription deal. But then Amazon’s price for this product shot through the roof for some reason. Now I buy these from Walmart which sells them for less than $4 a piece (better than my local grocery and almost half the cost Amazon charges).

Once I got a 12-pack of the non-organic version of this product, and it didn’t taste as spicy or flavorful to me. But I wasn’t going to throw all those away, so I found a way to make them spicier. I often make a large mug of this stuff (16 oz), so that is one cup of concentrate and one cup of milk (or almondmilk as I use).

But first I put in 1/4 cup of water in the mug and heat in the microwave for 30 sec. until it is boiling. Then I drop a level spoon full of “Blue Lotus Traditional Masala Chai” (sold on Amazon) with the included little wooden spoon, and swirl it around until it is dissolved.

Then I pour in the 1 cup each of Tazo concentrate and milk (and back in the microwave to heat the full mug up) and the resulting mix is extra-spicy and very full-flavored. I ended up liking this so much as a “fix” for the regular flavor that now I do this even though I’m back on the (slightly spicier) organic version.

I love Tazo teas! You really can’t go wrong with any of their flavors, just pick one you know you usually enjoy and you won’t be disappointed! They’re just the right balance of everything you would want from a high-quality tea.

I switch out my flavors, depending on the season, so I’ve tried a lot of them! Pumpkin spice chai is excellent for Fall/Winter, Earl Grey is amazing anytime of year, the peach and other fruity flavors are great for Spring/Summer.

I’ve never tried one I didn’t like. Their bags are higher quality and do not tear or come apart easily. If you like Starbucks teas, then you’ve had Tazo, because this is the brand they usually serve.

Bigelow and Tazo are my top two favorite tea brands. Bigelow has an orange spice called Constant Comment and Tazo has a very similar orange spice tea. they’re both awesome. However, I prefer Tazo’s tea bags and quality a little bit more.

They’re great on their own or with a little honey/lemon/splash of oat milk – however you like your tea. I also brew a gallon at a time and add ice in the summertime, which is refreshing. In the cooler months, I love anything with some spice in it and Tazo delivers on everything promised on their box! Just thinking about it, makes me want to go brew a cup right now and relax.

Love having this handy Tazo Organic Chai Latte concentrate in the cupboard or fridge (after opening). I usually drink it hot however cold would be just as enjoyable as well. The smooth blend of mixed spices and tea, topped off with cream offers a delicious mellow cup of comfort.

At times, I have even added a tiny drop of vanilla for extra richness. Depending on how strong you prefer your chai tea, you can add more water to reduce the ratio. I prefer it on a half water to half concentrate, then heat on stove in saucepan.

Add milk, cream or even whipped cream as this drink can be as decadent as you desire.

I bought the Perfect Peach tea. The tragedy of this tea is. Whomever created the recipe has never had a peach. This is neither perfect peach or peach at all. Every ingredient inthis tea is so overpowering.

That any hint of peach is not simply overwhelmed. It is completely crushed. I would not recommend this to anyone who has never had a peach. They would never try a peach again. Therefore, they would never know the sweet joy of real peaches.

I’m a huge tea drinker. I love trying new teas. My sister actually recommended this tea. The price was extremely reasonable so I figured, why not. After the first cup, I wasn’t sure about this flavor.

It just seemed too much. I wasn’t convinced it was as great as she claimed, but I tried it again the next morning and I have to admit, it’s really good! It’s very flavourful with a nice blend of orange peel and spice.

I only have one tea bag left from the box so it’s time to buy a new one!.

Nasty. I was in an ugly laundry room bathroom. It smelled like they used some cheap cleaner with a funky perfume. That smell is how this “tea”, tastes. I hoped to improve the flavor by putting it in a container with some good peach teas, but the good flavors didn’t get through the packaging.

It had been a year of being in there. I tried it again today and it’s still terrible. Throwing the rest away and hope I remember how bad it is.
