20 Best Chai Tea Powder (2022 Updated)

I love the chair tea lattes at the coffee shops, but the sugar calories are so high. I have been using this in my regular hot black tea to add flavor and it’s perfect. When it’s hot outside, it’s also good in either iced tea or milk.

I don’t miss the sugar at all, leaves no bad aftertaste, and my blood sugars are much happier. My only problem is that it sells out quick, so when I find it I buy 6 boxes at a time (if there’s 6 left).

My daughter-in-law says it’s like a liquid spice cake. I think that’s a great description of the flavors.

The tea is fantastic! Now if Target would consistantly package it correctly, if would be great. Sometimes each container is put in a plastic bag and closed with a ziptie, then puff bags in with the tea to protect it from being crushed and leaking.

This woks extremely well. Other times the containers are just put in a box and they arrive with at least one smashed and leaking all over. I have complained each time there is a problem and they replace all but why not do it right the first time?.

I purchased this because I am diabetic. I really enjoy Oregon chai. I knew I couldn’t have it with sugar. So I bought this thinking it will be way worse, expect a major difference. I just made it, and it is my new favorite.

It tastes 100% just like original with all the sugar, but this has zero everything all the way down the nutrition list on the box. I highly recommend guys!!!.

Overall, this chai tastes wonderful! I have fructose malabsorption so I was really excited to find a chai concentrate that did not contain fructose or honey. The only downside is that the chai was too sweet for me and had a slight stevia aftertaste.

I need to add way more milk than chai to tone down the sweetness. That being said, this is the best sugar free option I have found so far!.

I’ve tried every kind of chai tea latte I can find, and this brand is by far the best. I have to say that I only drink the vanilla though, as I do not like clove. so the spice flavored chai is out for me.

Clove just takes over and is too strong. For me, while I love the flavoring in this tea, it is not as strong as I would like. What I do to compensate for this is make my mug of black tea and then add 2-3 tablespoons of this vanilla chai latte powder to the tea for flavoring.

It comes out just awesome! Makes me actually look forward to getting up in the morning. While I’m making the bed and feeding the cat, my tea is steeping. I add this vanilla chai tea latte powder and am ready to start my day pleasantly with a fabulous cup of chai while I am reading the morning news.

I would very highly recommend Pacific Chai Latte to anyone. I would give this product 10 stars if I could! It’s a little pricey, but less expensive than buying a large chai latte at your local cafe.

I love this chai so much! It’s not too sugary, and has the perfect blend of flavors to make it so delicious. I like to drink it with milk and it’s so creamy and delicious.

This is a delicious winter treat. So easy to make with just hot water. I can’t wait to make it over ice in the summer. I don’t know what the spices are, but they are not over powering. They seem to relax me after a stressful day.

It’s great! I have drank this for years. I have to have gluten free products and this tea never bothers me. It is delicious and low on acid. I never get a caffeine buzz and it tastes the best of all the chai teas.

I got sick from this product after drinking it for a few days. I then went online to find out if anyone else had gotten sick and read some reviews where people stated the carrageenan made them sick. I had been trying to figure out why certain creamers were making me sick and have since realized that many of them had carrageenan in them and so I think it is the culprit.

I cannot live without this chai. This chai is a powder and so easy to make. I just get a cup of hot water or sometimes hot milk and a get scoop of the powder. It tastes amazing too. Such a great blend of sweetness and spice.

I would say it’s even a lot better than Starbucks! I buy it in bulk at Costco and I have to buy a couple at the time, just in case they don’t carry it because like I said I cannot live without this chai.

As a non-coffee drinker, I am very particular about my chai. So a powdered mix? I thought, “no thanks. “ When a recipe called for some of this mix, I picked up some and an associate in the store told me “this stuff is so good!“ The box says “spicy“ but that’s the furthest thing from the truth.

This chai is perfect. I cannot believe adding 9 ounces of water would get this incredible drink for almost no money. I am not writing all my friends and telling them to pick some up. There’s no need to ever get a chai at a coffee shop.

Chai tea is my favorite drink and this mix from trader joes is delicious! It taste like a warm hug in a mug. The perfect blend of spices. You can have it hot or cold over ice. It’s super easy to make just put a scoop into your favorite mug or cup add water or milk if you prefer, stir and enjoy.

It says to mix two scoops or 1/3 cup but I use just under one scoop and that is plenty so the tub lasts me even longer.

This chai mix is my new addiction. I don’t drink it all the time because it’s very sweet (it contains a lot of sugar). Even if the package says to put 2 spoons of the product, is better to put less. I also add some milk.

I suggest buying it directly from TJ because I saw in other online stores is way more expensive.

This chai is spicy pricy $ but worth every penny! I went to visit my daughter who lives out of my state and fell in love with Blue Lotus chai. Aside from the relaxing, deliciously pungent smell, it takes only a very small scoop for a large mug of tea.

Speaking of scoop, they provide you with a tiny, beautiful wooden spoon which is included in each contaiber of chai. This small container will last a long time. I treasure every sip as it brings me back to memories of my trip.

Initially ordered the wrong tea, did the prompts to cancel, received email saying someone would contact me-no one ever did. Received product. The tea itself is wonderful, but the container was dented, dirty and stained, stickers removed and adhesive residue, dirty residue, on container.

Product appeared to be second hand, like something from the free food box in a soup line.

This is the best chai mix I have had, has a nice spice and conveniently is instant. My favorite thing about this mix is that it comes unsweetened and without creamer, most chai mixes are too overly sweet and being able to add your own milk gives a lot of flexibility.

Great service-confirmation-tracking emails! But I REALLY don’t understand the mixing instructions that you sent! It says to mix 2 oz powder with 5 oz water. the whole bag is eight ounces!! Tastes excellent! I don’t usually like “milk” tea. I bought it for guests – but of course tried it first — excellent taste. I add it to brewed black tea and stir, then shake it with ice for a nice cold drink.

Will also order the taro one next time!.

After what seemed like an Out-Of-Stock eternity, I was finally able to order Big Train Chocolate Chai Latte the first week of January. My box arrived the evening of January 11. I practically kissed the UPS driver! I’ve been drinking CCL for close to 20 years! Nearly every morning.

And in the Original Big Train Mug- the one displayed on the chai bag. Now that bag is a redesign. I can’t say I like it. I will forever miss the shiny purple bag with “My Chai Mug” on its face! Even the taste seems different.

My first love was Big Train’s Low Carb Spiced Chai. When they stopped making it, I switched to the sugar laden Spiced Chai. The taste is great and would be even better with less sugar. It doesn’t need to be so sweet.

Ideally the company should make it with stevia. I’ve been doing business with J. L. Hufford for decades and their products and customer service are first rate.

By far one of the best spice chai teas I’ve had! To clarify for those not familiar, “spice” doesn’t mean spicey, it means there are extra spices in the form of cinnamon, cardamom, allspice, etc. Think “extra flavor” when compared to many chai teas that you can barely taste after you’ve added milk.

Not sure why it’s so expensive here, though. It is half of this price on the other website we all know I’m talking about.

We used to get this all the time in our Sam’s store, then they quit carrying it (for no apparent reason than to stock another brand, which we thought was awful and apparently so did a lot of other people–yet it “passed a taste test” comparing it and this one; nobody HERE in NW Arkansas apparently liked it, because it wound up sitting on the shelves and having to be sold at a dollar a can.

but I digress). The first time we tried it was when they were giving out samples in-store; I was just getting over a serious cold, and I drank a cup of this, and it was as if this was EXACTLY what my throat needed.

I loved the taste, and so did my husband. Then it disappeared, and you charged so much for it online that we couldn’t get it any more. Thankfully, the price has come down. But the last time we ordered some, to me, the formula had been changed and it had a slightly “off” taste to it from how I’m used to it tasting.

Husband doesn’t seem to notice it and remains addicted to it, so maybe it’s just me. I *did* love the flavor, but I always had a problem with the sugar content. Good LORD, it has a lot of sugar to it, and I’m on a low-carb diet and my husband is diabetic.

The company needs to make a sugar-free version using sucralose (not aspartame), or at least cut the sugar content. I actually contacted their website to find out why they quit supplying it to the Sam’s stores, was it available anywhere else (I don’t remember buying options on their site), and whether or not they had any plans to make a sugar-free version.

Their response, as near as I can remember it: no plans to make a sugar-free version (although this was some years ago, right after they pulled it out of the stores–they might have different plans now), no other stores are selling it, and.

their explanation as to why they no longer supplied it to Sam’s was a little vague, but I did get the impression that it wasn’t the Mystic Chai people’s idea, so the ball’s back in Sam’s court. I’m glad it’s available online again, because my husband ran through his last can about 3 months back, and I’d like to be able to order some for him.

I’m going to recommend this, based on the fact that *he* still likes it.

My fault for not reading the ingredients before purchasing. I thought I was getting a spicy tea. I instead basically got two tubs of sugar. Sugar sugar sugar is first ingredient. One serving is like 200 calories.

I think I’ll stick to my black coffee. Taste is good. But way too much sugar and not enough substance.

This is my all-time favorite chai. I have tried a lot over the years and none has the spice and flavor like this one. I love that you can drink it hot, iced, or blended with all three directions on the canister.

Sam’s used to carry this and then it went away and recently came back. I’m so happy they offer it and I’ve shared this with many friends and family who also now buy it from Sam’s as well. It is very tasty!!.

Very good chai tea latte! Perfectly balance of sweet & spice. Dissolves well in hot water or milk. Tastes delicious when mixed with coffee. The 1 scoop serving makes it simple to serve. Good quality tea, quality ingredients.

An office favorite! This chai latte mix is great to store in the cupboard, takes very little effort to prepare, mixes easily with hot water from the cooler and is leaps and bounds better tasting than liquid mixes.

I want to love this product, but I have to doctor it quite a bit in order to enjoy it. My favorite way so far has been adding a scoop of this to my afternoon cup of Instafuel along with some additional maple syrup.

It’s quite spicy and a little gritty. But I do love that it’s made with quality ingredients and low in sugar. I would also love if the specific spices were listed out on the ingredient label – it just says “organic spices”.

But I absolutely love that Laird makes a priority of trying to make all our favorite foods but using best in class ingredients. I really really appreciate that.

I have tried all the instafuel products and am really enjoying them. For the Chai, I find the tea blend perfectly spicy, and I love that it’s a combo of rooibos and black teas, so it’s not too heavy on the caffeine.

I have been trying it in combo with other things too: adding a spoon of the turmeric super creamer, or doing half the portion of chai and half the original instafuel, or adding more coconut milk or other nut milks.

So far favorite combo is half chai, half original instafuel plus oat milk. It comes out less spicy, just enough caffeine, and creamy, plus has a really lovely smell between the coffee and spices. I will also say I think it has the perfect amount of sweetness from the coconut sugar, but other people who I’ve served it to feel it needs more, and have added honey and/or maple syrup.

Overall, highly recommended.

I LOVE the ingredients and the quality in Laird products. I bought this because an instagram influencer raved about it. Somehow I missed that it’s SO crazy spicy! Like way more than your usual hints of pepper or ginger in a chai.

I love that it isn’t too sweet, you can always add more sweetener if you want (usually I do) but you can’t take it out. It has a lovely viscosity and richness, despite the bit of grittiness from the spices.

I just wasn’t expecting that intense of a level of heat from the ginger. I know they say zesty and spicy + sweet but really, ginger is the overpowering flavor and no sweetness comes through for me (again, happy to add my own but man did I need a lot).

I’m bummed I bought two bags. I know some people will love the intensity but I wish I’d know before buying it.

I use this mix with hot milk. Oh my! it is delicious! They use to have a Beanery Coffee shop here and they closed. I was so disappointed. I would get the Chai Spice tea with milk. This has the same taste.

This spice looked interesting, although I was not sure at first what to do with it. I added it to coffee – I’m not a big coffee drinker but do enjoy flavored coffees once in a while. I also added some to my husband’s coffee.

The next day, I walked into the kitchen to find him grabbing the bottle from the cupboard. I’ve also added some to rice pudding. The spice has a great flavor although it does contain sugar so it can be a little sweet with some foods (and be aware of the added sugar in your diet).

I will purchase again and reccommend.

This is my favorite Chai powder thus far! I make dirty chai every morning and it sets the pace for the day. Will you be selling thin in bulk at some point though? I hate going through so many glass jars.

I just tried this in warm milk, but I find it very sweet. The first ingredient in the ingredient list is organic sugar. maybe I should have read the list of ingredients before ordering it. I do like the fact that the ingredients are organic.

I won’t buy it again though because it is too sweet for my taste.

I purchased this product to make a recipe for a chai latte cake and glaze. Yummy! I haven’t tried this for making actual lattes but I will try a teaspoon of it in my tea for a change.
