20 Best Chain Mail Scrubber (2022 Updated)

I bought this for myself a while ago and liked it so well that I purchased another for a friend. Cast iron can be a little difficult so clean off anything that sticks to it. I read about chain mail scrubbers that were suggested to clean cast iron.

I searched until I found yours and I have not been disappointed. Thanks!.

The chainmail scrubber is a little pricey but after having used it for a few months, it’s certainly proven worth the price! It easily removes baked & caked on food with minimal effort. I always had trouble cleaning my cast iron after searing meat but this works great to remove.

Would highly recommend!.

About 5 years ago I became a cast iron fan. I’ve been adding to my collection ever since. I had seen a demonstration on cleaning cast iron skillets with chainmail, but I could never find the chainmail for sale anywhere.

Recently I was browsing the cast iron section of Bed Bath & Beyond and to my surprise, I saw Lodge chainmail scrubbers with silicon inside for scrubbing skillets. I immediately ordered two. I’ve received them and I think I’m going to be very happy using them.

Since you may heat a skillet up before scrubbing it, the silicon in these keeps you fingers up and away from the heated skillet. That’s an added innovation.

We had one already. Got this one – impulse buy – but happy with it. Cleans cast iron griddles, skillets abs Dutch ovens.

This is the best purchase that I could have gotten for my cast iron pans. It makes cleaning so much easier, especially when I cook something sticky. I would rate this a 10/10 and gift it to anyone that has a cast iron.

Another great product from Camp Chef. Makes cleaning baked on food from cast iron easier. I saw another one online at a fraction of the price but when it comes to quality Camp Chef has been there for me.

I was very impressed with the products from the first use. The design makes maintenance of our CI much quicker, easier, and more effective. Love the wax product for seasoning!

I received this product as part of a promotion. All opinions are my own. I have a love/hate relationship with cleaning cast iron pans. Most of the time when you have to scrub hard baked-on food, you have to use harsh chemicals or rough, abrasive metal scrubbers.

I ordered this chain mail scrubber with a silicone interior to help clean my cast iron pans and am a huge fan already. The chain mail exterior doesn’t scratch my hands but still cleans my cast iron pans.

Since it’s not made with a traditional sponge, then you don’t have the same sort of bacteria build up between cleanings. This is a must-have cleaner for anyone who cooks with cast iron.

I had been looking for a fine chainmail scrubbing cloth. Most of the commonly available ones are good. But to big a guage of mail. I wanted something for light Scrubbing to remove food particles from my Cast Iron and French Carbon Steel pans.

This Dishcloth is Perfect for that. I’ll likely buy a second one.

Cleans really well but you need to hold a dish cloth over it or wear a rubber glove so that it doesn’t touch your skin. We found that the chain mail nicked our skin if we used it bare handed. But it cleans great and is not deteriorating.

Very happy not to be using disposable scratch pads. Great for the environment.

This product makes me – dare I say it – enjoy doing dishes. I’ve cleaned several sticky pans and it cuts the cleaning time down by a significant amount. It feels great in the hand, is very effective, and is so easy to hang dry by the sink so you don’t worry about germs.

Love this and buying them for friends and family.

My oven broke down over a month ago. By two weeks into cooking only on the stovetop, I finally bought that cast iron I’d been looking at (won’t name them, but that wasn’t Lehman”s – sorry!). But! But then I wanted to care for that cast iron so I knew just what I wanted: a chainmaiil scrubber, And where did I look for that? Lehman’s! It’s great quality, my pan is happy, and I’m happy.

Of course, I couldn’t just do the chainmail. At Lehman’s I also ordered other things I’d been needing like the drawer organizer so that my forks and spoons wouldn’t have to touch and those steak knives so I’d have something sharper for my friends and I to knife our steaks with.

Great tool for more than cleaning my cookware. I had to use it on my husband’s grill Labor Day. His idea of a Clean grill and mine are global Opposites! I tossed it in the dishwasher and it came out nice and clean and ready for the kitchen again!.

I think it is 10x better than the plastic chain scrubber from Park Tool. I used my plastic one about twelve times and around about the eighth time one of the metal clips broke off so I had to hold one end down with my hand and not long after that the magnet broke off.

I could still use it but it was a bit of a pain. This one is definitely heavy duty. Thick aluminium and a heavy coating of paint (powder coated I think) Very easy to use, easier to fill and it seems to work faster as well.

I think it is well over priced to be fair, It’s not billet aluminium or carved by some mystical tribe in the Amazon and I think it will take many uses before you see a saving from it through saving chains but it is a nice bit of kit and if you look after your tools I can see this lasting a lifetime.

It’s for sure high quality. It does exactly what you expect a chain scrubber to do and does it well. My only two complaints are a the screw that secures the handle is a bit difficult to get to, and also those white pads that are in the cartridges are absolutely useless.

I pulled them out and it still did the job just fine. I do love it. I went through so many of the plastic ones, and this one is for sure one that feels like it will last for a good long while. Happy with the purchase and would for sure buy again.

After going thru about 3 of the park tool plastic bodied scrubbers I was very happy to see Park release an all metal body unit. Much to my dismay this unit is not ready for primetime. First the body opens backwards, towards you which makes the tool difficult to use.

Secondly the front and rear openings are simply to small to allow the chain to pull thru easily. After 2 cleaning uses the white fiber material was pulled out and had to be tossed. Sorry I cant recommend this one.

If it was half the price maybe but its not.

So I was going to get the bundle pack but it was sold out. So I bought the cyclone chain scrubber and the cleaning solution separately. Yeah a little more expensive but hey it was worth it. I was expecting it to arrive on Tuesday but hey I felt like Park Tool did me a solid and shipped it to me quicker then expected it arrived on a Saturday I saw the package at 2am I got home opened up my pacakage I like the corrugated cardboard mesh they use so the items don’t move around while I’m transit.

It was the most satisfying experience ever I put my bike on the rack read the instructions and bam I had a clean chain and clean up was a breeze. 10/10 I would recommend someone this item.

Despite its deceptive simplicity, this does a great job cleaning my cast iron. It takes off the food residue without harming the seasoned surface. The large links (bigger than the usual dish/pan scrubbers) mean that any bits of food it picks up rinse out easily.

Since it doesn’t rust, it should last indefinitely.

I actually thought that this would be heavier weight than it was. It was a gift for Christmas so I haven’t heard whether or not it will work for the recipient in the way I’d hoped. I have one that I use for scrubbing my cast iron pan.

I gave the one I bought to serve the same purpose. I guess I should have thought about the fact that there might be different thicknesses to the chain mail, but it didn’t. I thought it would be like the one I have.

I absolutely love the Lodge Chainmail Scrubbing Pad, Blue Square Silicone, ACM10S31. I used it to clean up my griddle after making pancakes and eggs and it works great, it is the toughest scrubbing pad I have ever used in my entire lifetime.

I will use it for years as it is well made, and cleans off the stuck food on the griddle. I highly recommend everyone to buy one of these well built scrubbing pads to use for their cast iron and also works on your grill.

Everyone knows, we have to keep food items clean, and with this scrubbing pad, it is now totally possible to keep grills and griddles both clean as when they are new. It scrubs off the toughest food ever.

This is a great chain cleaning tool that works great. Just one problem the latch that holds the top on is too tight from the factory and it needs to be loosened or it will eventually break the top of the chain cleaning tool.

Otherwise this is a great tool.

Promise what you do. I hope it will last a long time. The chain looks like new.

Bought this over a month ago, very pleased with the build quality of this product and the functional excellence. Cleans my road bike chain effortlessly, removing the grime and dirt stuck on. Purchased it at a discounted price so well worth the money.

The foam insert is a good to have and does work, but doesn’t stop cleaning fluid from spilling out, have to hold it straight and be a bit cautious. But the above doesn’t put me off, it is still a great product for cleaning bike chain.

Clips at the ends hold the top part firmly in place. Easy to clean and store. Recommended.

Having had a cheap chain cleaner tool from a well known German supermarket fail on me after about a year of use and to be perfectly honest that did an OK job I stumped up to buy the park tool item. I am very happy that I did, very easy to use, clips together well, cleans all of the chain really really well and seems really robust.

I like the fa t you can put your chain cleaner in once the device is fitted to avoid unnecessary spills. First use and my chain looks amazing. The device cleaned up easily after use so I am looking forward to many years of use.

I love Park Tools especially when I can get them at a reasonable price. This tool is amazing! I speak from owning mine for over a year! Though mine just broke and I bought another one on the same day it broke! I have tried friends chain scrubbers that own other brands.

Big Box specials and a Pedro one I think. All did the job in some fashion but not the way I see my chains come out with Park! When you get a good priced one there almost as cheap as a big box special.

I use 2 liquid products to clean my chain. I start with Dawn dishwasher soap (especially if there gunky and getting there first treatment). The last one is Simple Green. With my chains that are beautifully up-kept, I just use simple Green as it does the job! Don’t hesitate! Get it and don’t waste your money on the other brands!!!!!.

hey Field Co: (Hi Stephen). i just ordered a couple ‘Field’ scrubbers for my sister and a client after i got and love one i got at a local cooking store. The good news is that they both enjoy them. i put a brass cup hook, bent open slightly, above the sink in my customer’s house, so the scrubber can be tossed and caught, instantly put away in a place it can harmlessly drip dry.

my sister wrote the scrubber is “magnificent! a real game changer. ” my two points of critique: First, the scrubber i bought in person was by the brand Knapp: it feels more robust/substantial (73 grams; i forgot how much the field scrubber weighs, but it is less).

this didn’t mar the opinion of the others, as no one will ever wear one of these out, but in comparison it felt lightweight. a second point is that the scrubbers come in an elegantly pure brown paper envelope, but it was shipped in a bubble mailer that allowed the paper to get crumpled.

this didn’t bother me or the users at all, but when i re-sent the scrubber to my sister, i did smooth out the paper and pack it in (old cereal box) paperboard to keep the paper wrapper looking crisp.

Absolutely love this product, and the best part is it’s made in the U. S. ! Easily removes debris from my cast iron and carbon steel pans with extremely minimal effort. I even find it is gentle enough for use on glassware.

I also like that the chainmail scrubber is more sustainable than typical kitchen sponges. Which means, less waste going into landfills and micro-plastics into our water. Cannot recommend this product enough.

Buy it. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing piece of kit! The Field Chainmail Scrubbie is an excellent tool for our cast iron pan. It quickly and easily removes any stuck-on food bits, but leaves a coating of oil behind, as well as the ever darkening seasoning layer that’s so integral to that non-stick effect.

A quick drop of dish-soap once the pan is out of the way and the chainmail washes sparkly clean. Takes up no room at all, and the texture is lovely. I also weirdly enjoy the scouring sound it makes on the machined surface of our pan.

I almost want to buy a second one, but I feel like this one will probably last a decade. Highly recommend. The convenience (or rather, lack of elbow grease) is priceless.
