20 Best Chair For Fishing (2022 Updated)

We bought these during our most recent camping trip, while we were relatively close to an REI store. The reclining feature is brilliant. You can lean back and get comfortable, no matter how short or tall you are.

Add a firewood footrest and you’re all set. The seat collapses and takes up only a little more space than a traditional camp chair. This is great because other rocking camp chairs fold up but don’t fully collapse, taking up more storage space in transit.

Beware leaving your frosty beverage in the cup holder when you get up. Sitting down or getting up, even with great ease, results in the beverage being tossed about which results in spilled beer, which is not good.

After a short learning curve we have been taking our beverages with us and no beer has been spilled! The left-side pocket is big enough to hold my iPhone 12 in an Otterbox case. The only thing that could make it better is some pocket netting on the back to store some stuff while at the campsite.

We highly recommend this chair.

I bought this particular chair for my MIL bc she wanted one after sitting in mine at a softball game. My husband and my mom also have one and we all absolutely love this chair. It gives the comfort needed while enjoying watching outdoor activities such as a softball game or as simple as sitting outside with friends.

The rocker part is what makes the chair set a part from others. It is comfortable, sturdy and securely made. Way more comfortable than sitting on the bleachers or other foldable chairs. You don’t slump down and you don’t feel like it is going to fold with you in it like some foldable chairs.

It is also easy to carry as it is easy to fold up and has two handles, one on top and one on the side. If you are one to be outdoors for whatever reason and need a chair, this is the one! You will not be disappointed.

I did not purchase my GCI rockers from QVC but I do have the exact rocker being sold here in the exact same color. I am 5’8” and my husband is 6’ and they aren’t too low for us, so I’m not sure why some people are saying they are too low, unless they happened to have bought the one specifically made for the beach or fire pit.

I have also had mine for almost two years now and it is in perfect condition other than it being dirty. My husband and I bought our two after seeing some people at the ball field with them. Our boys play ball and participate in shooting sports.

We thought these would be chairs that would be put up until we had a tournament. Turns out, we use them DAILY!!!!! They are light and easily toted once you figure out which way works best for you. We use them at the ball field, around the fire, in the backyard, on the porch, at the beach and river, and we even bring them inside when we host Christmas, Thanksgiving, or any other event where seating is limited.

My grands loved them so we bought them a set last Christmas. My daddy tried mine and he is about 350 lbs so he doesn’t generally like chairs like this, but since he did like this one, we bought him one for his birthday several months ago.

My children also have them. In most recent events, I just got home from Christmas shopping and have two sitting in my car for my mama and my other grandma. Needless to say, we love them so much and in my opinion, are good quality.

I’m sorry some people have had a bad experience. I’m not sure what they expected, but I do know that the GCI rockers have far exceeded our expectations and since we bought our first two, we have purchased 13 more.

Bought this Coleman and the Kijaro dual lock camping chairs thinking that the former is shorter and better for my kid while the latter is taller and better for me. Do yourself a favor and forget the Coleman, even for shorter people.

Get the Kijaro; it’s more than double the price but at least 5 times better: more supportive, roomy, and better build. The Coleman cool mesh chair is unbearably uncomfortable for a 6-foot tall person.

Not enough thigh support (cuts off mid-thigh) and you slump into the chair too much. Even my ten year old prefers the higher Kijaro chair since she can just sit with her legs up criss-cross instaead of with toes dangling and it is much more supportive.

Returning the Coleman the same day I picked up.

I was looking for a sturdy foldable chair for the swim platform on my boat and was specifically looking for black to match the color scheme and my fold up table. After shopping around online, I found this one and decided to order two of them.

They are absolutely perfect! They fit nicely with my table on the back of my boat. They fold up very easily for storage while underway. The back is higher than other similar style chairs I found. And, they’re very roomy and comfortable.

They’re made well and of good quality. I also love the cup holder and the little mini cooler (and storage) on the armrests. With my 2 coupons I felt they were reasonably priced too. I am very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend this chair.

Very comfortable chair! I bought this to bring as a beach chair as I don’t like the super low seating of normal beach chairs. I also specifically bought this for the higher weight limit. This held up well during our week.

It’s a very comfortable chair with tons of storage. It has the normal cup holder but also has a netted pocket on the side with multiple pockets on it great for putting phones and other items. I also like built in cooler though I can’t say it really keeps my items cool at all.

I may not have used it properly, but I didn’t notice a difference. Overall a great chair and I think I’m buying another one for our trip next year!.

Good chair. I bought to use in my Eskimo hub, ice fishing. What sucked is Blain’s listed it on sale. Checking the APP, only one store, Rice Lake, 5 hours away, had 135 in stock. Zero at other stores.

So, I ordered it online for shipping, which added $7. After it had shipped, but before I received mine, they were in stock at my three locals stores.

At first I though this chair was a little pricey, especially given the fact that I bought two (one for me and one for my son). After I received them I realized that they were well worth the price. The Eskimo XL folding chair is probably one of the most comfortable tripod ice fishing chairs I’ve ever used, and it seems very rugged and capable of holding my chubby self up comfortably for a long day of jigging.

The only con I’ve found is that the chair is just a smidge too tall for my 5 year old, so he’ll tip over in it periodically. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend.

Only used once so far. They are more comfortable than I expected. They are also heavier than I would of thought. But the weight is needed to make them strong. Not crazy heavy but it’s not like a beach chair.

Being a bigger guy, finding a camp chair that is comfortable and stable can be a challenge. They’re usually either too thin in the padding or hit my legs wrong, making sitting in them for mornthan a few minutes uncomfortable.

But these are wonderful. They will have a place on my front and back porches for years to come.

I’ve been searching for a few years for a chair that I can sit in and watch the memorial tournament at muirfield on the 12th hole! There is a steep hill behind the green and sitting on the ground hurts, sitting in other chairs sucks because you have to prop yourself up in it or you will tip over or fall out! This chair sits perfectly on this hill! It’s also extremely comfortable, I can sit here all day (which is a monster feat to try and do)! I’m so glad I found this chair! I will be buying another one for next year so my friend can sit and enjoy some great golf with me!.

It’s not a very comfortable chair. It’s small and kind of hard to get out of and I am in good shape. If you put weight on the parts connecting the seat to the back the chair the chair starts to buckle.

I would not recommend this chair for comfort. It’s relatively light but when carrying it, it opens up.

I love this chair – recently used on holiday in Wales. It’s perfect for sitting on hill sides to wait for Red Kites being fed and jet planes to do their mountain training (which didn’t show up! ). Watching dragsters from the bank at Santa Pod is now a doddle too.

Adjustment is straightforward and the chair is easy to carry, although rucksack style straps might make it even easier.

My husband bought this for me this spring, since we would be going camping with me at 7 months and 8 months pregnant. It was comfortable for me at the “big as a water buffalo” stage, and made our camping trips SO much more enjoyable! I also brought it with me in a road-trip to see my family, where we stayed in a rugged-living structure.

It was a lifesaver there. It was also quite popular – and when I wasn’t sitting in it, it was almost always occupied by my father, mother, any number of my sisters, and even an occasional brother in law.

Once we were home, I decided to forego buying a normal rocking chair in anticipation of baby’s arrival, and decided that this would be just fine, and since it would fold up during the day, it wouldn’t even take up the space of a regular rocker.

Baby is now 2 months old, and I haven’t regretted this decision for a moment. 10*’s and I doubt I’ll every buy any other model of camping chair again.

In all honesty, this chair seemed to have a lot of potential. Upside, if you have a solid footrest you can lean back and enjoy the chair and it’s awesome rocking festure. Downside, if you sit normally you feel like a packed sardine, as the arm rests are basically non-existent.

Your arms will either have to regress into your body, or you’ll have to deal with shoulders in your ears. I’m not a big guy, 5’7 of semi-athletic build, but I should be able to sit comfortably without feeling like I’ll be crushed if I breathe too deep.

Returned it and got the normal GCI Outdoor Normal Rocking Chair.

I’ve taken this chair to redwoods, Yellowstone, Zion and Bruce Canyon. It’s a sturdy chair and seems good quality however it’s not my favorite. Seems you have to be on flat ground to use as rocker which is fine in most campgrounds.

I didn’t realize how annoying I’d find it to not have armrest and a convenient cup holder. You certainly can’t set a full or almost full beverage in the cup holder without spilling it. I found myself putting my drink on the ground a lot which ended up getting dirt all over me and my lap.

Not the end of the world just not what I had hoped for. I find myself grabbing one of my cheap chairs over this.

This chair is very well built, comfortable and very stable. If you are looking for a small portable chair for fishing or back packing it will be probably too large. If you are looking for a picnic or camp site chair I think it would be perfect.

This is a well-built, sturdy chair! The best part is that it is easy to get out of — you are not leaning back and sitting in a swag. It is the most comfortable folding chair I have ever had the pleasure of using.

Got this for a Father’s Day gift. My husband is 6′ 3″ and wanted a higher sitting chair because he complains the regular folding chairs sit to low to the ground. This one is great! He loves it! This works like any other similar camp chair, but it’s three-sided so it’s smaller and lighter. It’s more of a task chair than a “laze about” sort of chair, and it works great for that purpose. Very sturdy, too.

Bought two of these chairs for ice fishing and camping. Extremely comfortable and durable. The back and seat are significantly larger than the standard chair. I’m 325lbs and this chair doesn’t even flinch.

The chair is great, I own two of them. The chair has a fantastic spring-loaded extendable and retractable four-leg adjustment for total leveling control and comfort on any uneven terrain. The chair is very sturdy and easy to sit in and get out of in a hurry while fishing.

The chair is very compact and easy to carry as a backpack which is designed and equipped to do if desired. This makes carrying it hands-free allowing me to carry other essentials. I plan on buying a third for more than just fishing, I can use it around the house inside and outside.

ive had this chair for about 3 years now. still using it and will continue to. rod holder is pretty decent as far as quality and usefulness. do not get it wet though. if you do oil tye leg springs. they will rust and lock up.

sets high if you want it to. good for unlevel river banks also.

What a great device for a fisherman. This is top notch! I have kept it on my dock where it is safe for most of the time except the three huge storms not normal this time of year. The chair spent several days under water and rocked by 4 foot waves and high winds.

The chair has taken a big beating and is still working. It’s a bit heavy to hoist up on my back but with some adjustments it works fine. The compartments for tackle or whatever are well engineered for capacity and use.

The canvas is quite sturdy and should last for years. This is the exact chair is sold in a major sports outlet for much more. the only weak engineering is for the rod holder, which is hard to use and attach and detach.

I would buy another if I need one more.

I have recently had hip surgery and have great difficulty getting up from short seats. In fact I’m not supposed to sit on to short of a chair, like most portable chairs. This chair is just enough taller that you can comfortably sit in it with your feet on the floor at a regular table.

The only “complaint” I have is one of the arms is rather difficult to attach and unattached, otherwise the chair is fine.

If you have trouble getting in/out of chairs because of arthritis or other physical limitations, this chair will ease the difficulty! It’s very easy to unfold and refold, it’s very sturdy and comfortable enough.

I use a thin pillow for extra comfort. There are pockets to stash small items, also. All around great chair, I highly recommend!.

Nice chair. On the heavy side, but seems durable. Like the height, easy to get up from with bad knees. Only minor problem was one of the chair arm pins that hold the sife armrest kept coming out when taken the arm rest.

TLDR: Well I wanted to love it, but it got stuck in the open position the first time I used it. I had to abandon it by the trash can cause I couldn’t fit it back into my car that way. I did open it and try it out in the living room when I received it and it worked just fine.

I took it to the beach. It says “beach chair” in the description. The first indication there was a problem was when I tried to recline it. This was about 5 minutes after the initial set up. The plastic parts that are supposed to slide to recline decided they were taking the day off.

I was even on packed sand by the high waterline, so it’s not like it was sunk deep or submerged in the sand. So I was stuck sitting upright at a 90 degree angle for the day. Very relaxing. I spent a good 30 minutes sweating and cursing, trying to fold it up before leaving it by the trash barrel.

If the construction is such that exposure to sand will render it no longer foldable or reclinable, that should be on the product page and on the product label. It’s just ridiculous that it got stuck like that.

I have 3 other camp chair recliners that don’t have this problem. Unfortunately they are all solid denier and get a little sweaty at the beach; so I added this to my collection because of the mesh. First world problems, I know… but I don’t appreciate the ding to my wallet or adding this to the landfill.

I’ve been looking for a lightweight chair to carry down to the beach that had a foot rest. This chair looks like it’s going to be perfect. It’s sturdy, and has a mesh type material that will let sand and air through.

It has a nice carrying over the shoulder bag, and the best part is an elastic loop that you can wrap around the foot stool when it’s folded back up so that it is so much easier to get into the bag or allow to stand up when trying to dry it out from sitting too close to the waves.

It weighs about 10 pounds or so, and has an attachable pillow. I’m not sure if that will be used as much, but am willing to try it. it velcros off. They’re attractive and not near as pricey as I’ve seen other chairs with these features at camping/outdoor stores.

I feel like it was a good investment for as much time as we spend outside at the beach.

The Arrowhead Outdoor 360 degree swivel hunting chair is a perfect chair for hunting and more. It’s lightweight and easy to carry in the included heavy duty carrying bag and very easy to set up. Getting the chair to collapse after it has been used takes a little more thought but it’s still easy to do.

First, let me say I don’t hunt, but do enjoy fishing. And, while this chair is very suitable for use in a blind, I don’t feel it works well for fishing. The chair sits fairly low to the ground, which is what you want while in a blind.

However, it would work better for fishing if sitting height could be adjusted. The chair is build to quality materials. The triangular seat is a nice touch for easy, fast exit from the chair. An important feature for hunters.

As you can see from the picture, it has large, square feet. This will provide better support in soft ground. The swivel seat is another important feature. The sitter will be able to change his view from side to side easily.

Disappointed that the chair does not fold flat. Looking at competitive chairs, it appears that none of them will fold flat, but I am not positive about that. Burned by shopping online instead of visiting store.

This is a very stable and comfortable chair. It is heavy and is not small when folded, but that makes it secure and comfortable when being used.

Very comfortable chair, good arm rests, back support, tall back, very sturdy, breathable mesh. The only negatives I can think of are these are bulky and on the heavier side, and the feet, while meant to help the chair be sturdy when fishing (good feature), take a little extra effort to get flat when setting up in every day use.

Even though these are bulky/heavy, they are so comfortable we use them at our kids/grandkids ball games and camping. It would be a nice addition if they were to have an option where you could have standard feet and/or attach the larger ones for fishing.

Overall, excellent chair – I would recommend.

This chair has it all, and I’m not sure why people complain about the rod holders. You just need to insert the left side backwards until it’s in the groove, then it can rotate and lock in place. My ONLY complaint about the lunker chair is that, like any lunker, it’s heavy to be dragging around, even with the nice padded strap.

But it is sturdy and comfy and extremely useful.

We purchased two chairs and really looking forward to taking them fishing. Unfortunately, one of them was missing the adjustable rod holders – huge disappointment! Thought I could just have the two rods holders sent to me – nope can’t be that easy.

Will not purchase again without opening boxes to ensure that all of the parts are in there.

I received this chair a couple of weeks ago and wasted no time using it. It’s been just as comfortable on the back patio as on a sandy beach, and while a bit on the heavy side the shoulder strap on the included bag makes it easier to get it where you’re going.

The biggest issue I usually have with this type of folding chair is that the front edge tends to dig into the back of my legs and cut off circulation. That has not been the case with this chair so far – the front edge provides support without digging in, I think in part because of its width.

This chair is wide enough that my legs don’t get pinched on the sides either, I am comfortably settled in the center of the seat with lots of room on either side. It’s very sturdy with very little flex.

I’m 6′ and 285 lbs, and this chair holds me up really well. The pockets on the right side are plenty roomy for a drink, phone, and snacks. Only time will tell if this 5-star review holds up, but I recommend this chair to all my big brethren.

Purchased this as a gift for my husband. He is not a large man, but has rheumatoid arthritis which makes standing from a low seated position more difficult. The 19″ high seat (vs. the average 17″ chair) and the solid arm rests make standing up a breeze.

The higher seat back and roomy width allow for more varied positioning when seated. I am also impressed with the sturdiness of the nylon covering and frame. The soft fabric lined accessory pocket helps protect sunglasses, electronics or whatever you choose to stow there.

And the carrying bag has a zippered pleat, so it opens up plenty wide to slip the chair back in without hassle. All in all I am highly satisfied with this purchase. It’s a gift that will keep on giving for years to come.

The best folding chair ever, if you’re at a campsite or at home. The metal arms are the best feature or maybe it’s worst. You’re not going to pack this chair very far. Years ago, Cabela’s had a great chair but the back was made of a mesh, it was very nice but left your back exposed to cold wind.

I haven’t taken this one winter camping yet, but I appreciate all the work and extra padding they have put into it. Super solid and very comfortable. Easily justifies the cost. 5 stars.

The item is generally well built and comfortable. However one of the plastic feet on one of the legs has already split and fallen off. Not good as I have only used the chair three times. At 58 I didnt expect this to happen.
