20 Best Chair For Hiking (2022 Updated)

I have had this chair for a while now, and I will say it is the most awesome chair I have owned. Yes it is a bit pricy, but the cost is far outweighed by all the benefits of the chair itself. I am a bigger guy, and this chair does not move around when folded out.

It is SUPER sturdy, dependable, and still transportable. Simple things like the back pack carry bag make it easy to carry to its destination, with your other hands carrying your cooler, or fishing gear.

I have used it in several different places including sand on the beach, and the feet were wide enough not to sink to much. I also used it all day on the ice fishing, and the chair folded fine in the cold, and provided a great ‘All Day’ seat.

It has been on fishing trips, camping, and just sitting by the fire. The only downside of this chair, is that my wife is insanely jealous of my epic outdoor thrown, and she is still stuck with the standard flimsy folding chair.

So in an effort to prevent her from continually sitting in my seat of greatness, I have opted to get another one, so we can both enjoy the magnificence of this folding chair.

I bought this chair two years ago. If you can get over the fact that your cheap friends/family will roast you for how fancy your chair is, than you will probably be satisfied with this chair. Structurally it’s the most solid chair I’ve ever sat in.

Getting it out and deploying it is easier than any chair. And packing it up back into the bag is not only easy, but it’s fun. I will say, it’s a heavy chair so if you are weaker than an average 25 year old guy than you may have some issues with carrying it long distances.

But overall this chair is solid. Is it worth $300? I don’t know. It’s kind of up to you. Oh and the cup holder is big enough for most of the yeti water bottles and mugs and stuff. Which is why I got this in the first place.

I’ve seen a lot of people addressing fire ember damage pretty easily. I don’t have that problem and I have used this chair around fires pretty regularly. So unless you intentionally do dumb stuff around fires or have a tendency to roast your chairs like a marshmallow, I don’t think you’ll have any problems.

My wife and I are beginning our RV life and wanted two camp chairs. I stumbled upon these Yeti TrailHead chairs here on Moosejaw and after reading the glowing reviews, decided to take the plunge. Delivery was lightning-fast and when I unboxed these chairs, I was blown away.

No more junky, tippy, uncomfortable camp chairs for us. These babies are built like tanks. They support your back; they are a great height; the armrests are beefy and they set up in two, easy motions.

Our daughter and daughter-in-law were visiting the other weekend and they were chatting, whilst sitting in these chairs and my daughter said, Dad, these chairs are more comfortable than any other chairs in the house! And, indeed they are.

My biggest fear is that they’ll be stolen, they are so nice. I do wish there were two, rather than just one cup holder. Maybe they can be purchased separately. These chairs are NOT cheap, but they reek of quality and the fact is, you get what you pay for.

LAST chairs we will ever have to purchase.

I fricken love this chair. Just took it out for its first camping trip and I found I often chose it over my hammock simply because it was easier to move into the shade. I’m amazed at how comfortable it is for such a small, lightweight thing.

I was able to both relax back with a book and sit forward to cook and eat comfortably. The materials are super solid. Sometimes I’m like “can this little thing seriously be that sturdy?” But then I look at the thickly padded and reinforced pole pockets, where I’d expect the most tension and wear to appear over time, and if they’re any sign of the quality of construction, I’m confident it will hold up (pun intended).

At first I was unsure about buying this model because I couldn’t tell from the pics if the mesh panels were flimsy, but I was pleasantly surprised; this mesh is hella sturdy stuff and it’s not gonna rip or stretch out.

The whole fabric sling piece feels extremely well constructed. I chose this model over the chair zero because I like the frame shape and anti-sinking properties it affords. It looks more stable and aesthetically pleasing to me than the legs on the other one.

I’d definitely worry I’d snap one of those little legs off with any wiggling around I’d do. Worth the extra weight imo. The whole thing sets up and folds down quickly and smoothly, no cursing involved.

The fabric piece folds up and wraps neatly over the collapsed frame and it all slips easily into the provided bag. The only two things I can knock it for are 1) the price. I’m glad I got a solid, high-quality item, but does everything good really have to cost this much? It’s just a chair dang.

And 2) black is a nice neutral color sure to be a crowd pleaser, but I would have liked a brighter more cheerful color choice as well. Neither of these are really points against, overpriced gear is par for the course these days, and we can’t win ‘em all as far as color.

If you like to sit in a somewhat relaxed back position with your legs “up” out in front of you I don’t think there is a better ultralight or even light weight chair out there. This chair is seriously light and I love mine and take it all over the place.

I’m really happy to see this one back on the shelves at MEC, its a unique and excellent product. The lack of real legs that app the other chairs in the lightweight chair world have does away with a serious weak point they have, and on top, this chair is way less prone to sinking in soft ground.

The low height lets you sit comfortably inside even small backpacking tents, use the ground as your side table. Something to consider though is if you are camping with others on standard height chairs you’ll be sitting below them.

Some people I’ve spoken to hate this idea. I don’t care at all. Personal preference there. There are two downsides that I feel need to be mentioned. 1) something I’m really disappointed with Helinox for is they don’t seem to supply spare frame parts, even to dealers, so if you crack one of the frame connectors or bend a pole you need to buy a new chair (or MEC might take it back).

I’ve seen these break. 2) I would also say it needs to be treated as what it actually is, an ultralight chair. It can get jammed up with sand and it can be a little fragile – this is not a chair to hand your young kids to climb all over, or an adult to lean on the wrong way.

The frame is not made to be loaded off angle and it will break if you do.

I love Helinox products, and this ground chair will be a perfect addition to my upcoming weeks of field work. I’ve set it up at home so far, and have enjoyed sitting under my window and closer to floor level to escape some of the summer heat in my flat.

The design is excellent, a stable frame that is easy to set up and take down, and I love that the contact points on the ground are a connected in a square with broader feet to minimise sinking. I enjoy the slight recline of the chair, and feel it gives decent back support in a reclined sitting position.

As ever, I love how compact and extremely lightweight this chair is, and I like the coyote tan colour I received. Great product!.

I purchased 2 Cliq chairs due to their size and design but my expectations were blown out of the water! I love these so much that i want to buy 2 more! PROS: – The chairs themselves are well made and very comfortable.

Easy to throw 2 in a bag and head out. – very comfortable, like honestly incredible how comfy these little things are. the backsupport is phenominal. – easy to set up and put back together. also easy to pack back in the bag! CONS: – sometimes the longer arms will get stuck and you have to get a little rough with them, nothing a little grease wouldnt fix though.

– after a week the paint on the base of mine had chipped from being in the bag with the other chair, not a big deal at all but it did happen – they are light but i feel like they could be lighter for their size Suggestion: more colors and designs please! id collect these if we had more than just 4 color options.

I initially bought two of these chairs with the intent of using them at San Diego Comic Con this year since it was described as the size of a water bottle. I thought it would be more compact than the foldable camping stool we had and more comfortable.

Upon receiving it I was a little disappointed by the size and weight. It is more the length of a two liter bottle and heavier than I expected. I tried it out and found out how comfortable it was and easy to use with a laptop tray to do work.

The first test run of it outside was at Wondercon in Anaheim as we had an hour wait to get in. So nice not sitting on the floor and getting great back support compared to the stool. Fold-up to put them away was just as easy as set up.

Took them again to SDCC and again it was nice to have instead of standing for two hours. I did notice we weren’t alone in bringing these chairs. For now I use my chair at home when I’m teleworking. I love how comfortable it is and easy to fold up and store away when I’m done.

I also have to mention the great customer service that this company has in taking care of their customers.

I will like to make clear that I’m not an avid camper by any means. I’m current stationed in Japan and about to retire. Japan has a lot of Car camping grounds, one of the reason I bought a pair of the Mica Basin camping chairs.

I’m sure you will be able to find reviews of more hardcore campers all over the internet. What I would liketo share with everyone is, I’ve been using these chairs for the past 6 months and I can testify of their comfort and durability.

As I mentioned before, I’m retiring from the Armed forces soon. My wife and I decided to ship the majority of our household goods back in September of last year. This means, that we have been without a sofa, couch and dining table to include the chairs since September.

We have been using the Mica Basin camping chairs all this time (March at the time of this review) without any issues. Please don’t take the word “using” lightly. We literally replace our home furniture with these chairs; i.

e. eating, watching tv, reading books, etc. I know for some readers this will seem impractical, trust me, for anyone who has to deal with constant moving (every 2 to 4 years) will not. These chairs are built like a tank and I don’t really find them that heavy, specially the comfort they give you compared to smaller and lighter camping chairs.

The reason why I ended up buying two Big Six Armchairs from Big Agnes.

Mom and dad finally splurged on two of these things, as an urgent upgrade from a pair of Helinox Ground Chairs (which have possibly another decade or 15 years of solid use to offer). One needs a bit more mechanical advantage when required to stand up and sit down repeatedly when minding your little adventurer about camp.

The section of aluminum pole that forms the “headrest” first seemed to snugly sit atop the upright chair back poles. The material that forms the sleeves that the uprights slide into, where the headrest section straddles horizontally, has now stretched noticeably such that the headrest pole now is pulled downward next to the uprights as soon as your weight settles into the chair.

There’s sometimes a noticeable report when the taut material mome tarily gives and the blheadreat pole is pulled downward as the material tightens. Time will tell is the stretching continues and affects the fairly solid structure of the top of the chair back.

Otherwise excellent piece of kit. Most comfortable we found amongst all the higher end options between Nemo and Helinox.

I love this chair it is super comfortable. This is the second one that I purchased. It’s super light, super easy to set up, and super comfortable. It packs away very small, has it’s own case which is nice when packed doesn’t snag on anything.

I’m 5’7 225 and it is a perfect fit for me. I’ve taken it on several backpacking trips and it always seems to be the chair that everybody wants to sit in. Purchased this one for my wife, her previous pack chair failed and we decided this would be a great time to upgrade for her.

She was a little apprehensive at first due to the price. But you get what you pay for, mine is several years old and still going strong looks brand new and is my favorite camping chair. They go with us from backpacking to car camping this is just an awesome chair.

I bought two of these chairs in May, 2020. I was very excited when they arrived. The canopy is great for summer use and the chair is of high quality and very sturdy. It is also larger than a regular camp chair.

I had an issue in late October in which the grommet in one of the arms broke. I emailed Alpha and explained my problem and asked if they could just send me a new arm. I sent them a photo of the broken piece.

They could not do that, but they offered to send me a brand new chair. That was totally unexpected but very much appreciated. I cannot say enough positive things about my customer service experience and I will definitely be using them again for future purposes.

Loving this chair for soccer games. There is never any shade at the soccer field. This canopy provided great sun protection, and even shaded my legs. I’m on the petite side (5’3”) and it’s a tad high, as my feet don’t quite lay flat on the ground when sitting in it.

However, it’s a roomy seat and the chair is very sturdy. It’s easy to push the shade back and out of the way when you don’t need it.

This chair is amazing. It’s very sturdy and comfortable. The cup holders come in handy for other things like your phone and sunscreen. The canopy can be up or down. It has two clasps to lock it in the upright position.

It all easily folds up like an umbrella. It comes with an outer bag with a handle for carrying. I’m glad I went with the heavier capacity as the legs are much bigger in circumference and doesn’t wobble.

It’s extremely sturdy like I said before. Adding here for emphasis.

I’ve used this all season and have taken it on many dayhikes and multiday backpacking trips. I love the low weight and packability of this chair, so much so that I usually bring this one instead of my Alite Monarch.

Set-up can be tricky and it seems I either get it or don’t. It’s helpful to have soft, level ground, but that is often asking a lot in the PNW. You can adjust the height of the backrest for more or less neck support, which is great.

I bring a small sit pad (think cheap lightweight IKEA bleacher pad) which helps when there are rocks. I’ve also used my Thermarest Zpad to make a full length lounge, to the envy of my friends. This is a great chair, once you get used to setting it up and fiddling with it.

I may buy more to share.

I love my slingback chair!!! I was aware that it would be tricky to set up, but practice in the lounge room had it down pat in no time. I took it for week long walk just recently and my back loves it!! Settling in after a day’s walk reclining with back support was heaven!! I laid the poles in position first, then held them in one hand at the crossing point whilst I sat on the bottom and then adjusted correct angle with tips in soil before settling back.

Once you get the hang of it, brilliant!!!! It is so light and I also use it for vestibule mat and a sit pad for short breaks. For the price and weight, excellent!!! I found it very comfortable, once you experiment with sit positions and back height.

It’s difficult to set up and too narrow. Not ideal after a long hike. I ultimately threw my poles in frustration after spending too much time trying to get the poles right so I could lean back and rest (and don’t move after you get them set).

I tossed this out of my pack after the 3rd trip. I gave it 3 stars for innovation.

At 260lb & 6’4”, I ask a lot of a camping chair. I’m still careful that – no matter how long the day’s portages were – I do not flop down into it & that it is always on flat ground. (Including after one or more legs sink into the ground a little which is inevitable).

But this chair’s frame seems strong enough that I (almost) wonder if I could be less obsessive about being careful. The all metal frame clicks together easily. The seat material is tough. The design is comfortable.

It is, though, a chair for relaxing… leaning back slightly. It is awkward to sit up straight or reach for something in front of you. Yes… it wasn’t easy to pay so much for a chair (MEC’s high-end niche can make us forget that there are always products which cost much much less)… ….

a lot of money but well worth it.

The chair is very comfortable and light weight and the sale price was extremely good for this chair (it was on sale and Sportman’s Warehouse had a 20 dollars off on purchases over $100). The only issue is that Big Agnes needs to make sand feet or a ground sheet for it similar to Trekology’s Yizi-go chair.

The chair sinks into sand/soft dirt making it a bit less stable (This is pretty common for most lightweight chairs, by any manufacturer because the surface area of the feet are small). I bought some 1″ pvc tees and bungee cord (to keep them together, and make them stay attached to the legs) and that seems to work decently, but it’d be nicer to have a lighter, more compact and better looking solution.

I had this chair from when it first came out. I switched from the Eno chairs because the folding system on this one went way down in diameter and easily packed into its own slim, streamlined, lightweight, shoulder-ready satchel.

Fantastically comfortable chair. And I loved being the only guy on the block with a big agnes chair. Or the only guy on the block at all. Had a lot of great trips and campfires with this. NOW, here’s the rub.

And if you know rubs, you know there’s always a rub. IF you get up to do anything while sitting around the campfire MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE YOUR PHONE OR JACKET OR SOME TYPE OF WEIGHT IN THE SEAT OF THIS CHAIR.

If a fly farts, this chair will tip over into the fire and instantly melt. This happened to me. Contacted the great people at BA for a new skin and they did not have one. They gave me 30% off, they are great kids.

But this thing is going for like 2 hundy now and it’s way overpriced at that. I have thousands in BA gear, can’t do it if every time someone walks by my chair tips into the fire. I don’t have the attention span to keep track.

It was an awesome chair which it lasted!!.

I have a bad knee. Before I resort to the cane with the built in chair I thought I would just buy a portable tripod chair to take on day outings. The only improvement I would suggest for this chair would be some way to strap it to a backpack… either a strap or a hook.

I’ll improvise. Either way, will be able to stop and rest the knee at a moment’s notice.

Let me say up front that I have not purchased this stool — yet. I bought one, probably from LLBean, a few years back and have been looking to replace the one that mysteriously disappeared. If it is the same quality, and I’m sure it is, I highly recommend this product.

It is light, compact and easy to carry. I weigh a little over the 275 lbs. capacity, but never felt it wasn’t secure enough to take my weight. I live in New York City and would take it with me when I didn’t want to stand on the subway for my lengthy commute.

It is perfect for sightseeing or any time you know you’ll be doing a lot of stopping and standing. I’m planning on buying (probably) three and will repost / review when I get them.

I suffer from debilitating back pain. I can’t walk for much more than 5 minutes and I need to sit for a bit. With this light-weight, easy-to-carry Slacker Chair, I can set it up in a few seconds and rest, then continue on.

Now I can go do things I enjoy again.

Being in the commercial furniture and design world I especially love and appreciate great seating! This chair arrived fast and just in time for the 4th. I took it on a hike and was able to easily set it up in the dark in under a minute.

There is a picture diagram attached to the bag showing you how to assemble the chair. I really didn’t need to use it because it’s intuitively designed. It’s light weight and the carrying case keeps it nice and compact to carry by itself or put in a backpack.

The chair is super comfortable and cradles the body. It’s sleek and good looking. Another cool feature is the chairs feet stabilize the chair in rough terrain. We were sitting on uneven ground and on a incline and had great stability.

I will be taking this chair to the beach, park, little league games, camping, river trips and the list goes on. This is my first Wildhorn purchase and I’m so impressed with the company and product. Can’t wait to use this chair more.

This chair is worth every penny. Has a couple extra features that you wouldn’t get from a big box store of the same model. It feels much more sturdy, the poles are a nice sized gauge. The corners have little loops for assisting to pull the chair over the frame.

It has handy clip for holding the storage bag, who doesn’t love a handy clip! The optional feet keep you from sinking in snow or mud. And the mesh keeps you nice and cool during the summer days! Would definitely recommend!.

Just took ours out on its first trip and we love them. So easy to carry and quick to set up. Works well for children and adults alike. Even our friend that is 6’3” sat in it comfortably. Easily handles those of us (like me @ 225lbs) that are carrying a little extra weight around.

This Chair is HUGE! my husband is a big guy. He saw ppl at an outdoor venue we frequent with this type of chair, with the side table and decided he would like one. I found this at a great price and figured i would order one for each of us.

First of all the video shows a handle to carry it. There is no handle and this chair is HEAVY! With no handle or strap to carry it i’m not sure it would be convenient for what we ordered it for. Then there is the fact that according to my husband it really isnt very comfortable i guess.

I will be returning mine. When it says XXL, believe it! I can share this chair with another person. But i would definitely not be able to lug it around anywhere. I only yook one star off because it is what is described.

I recently purchased this chair for flag football/cheer/soccer practices. I’ve used it twice now and it is seriously a comfortable chair. I previously owned the cheaper camping chairs from Walmart which have lasted YEARS, but they aren’t comfortable.

I am really loving this one. I am excited to use the umbrella holder as well. The only drawback I have is folding it up to fit inside the bag. Because it has a cooler bag, you have to finagle closing the chair and bag in a specific way so that it all fits inside the carrying sleeve.

I’m sure the more I use it the easier it will become. I definitely plan to purchase a second chair for my husband.

Relatively easy to transport, easy to setup, and very comfortable in seat! the back is okay, I would love it if they made one into a stool! It would be Perfect! This is good in the house too, I may get another one for company.

This chair is surprisingly comfortable for the size. I have a big problem with most camping chairs digging into my shoulder blades and pushing them at a weird angle, but the corners on this are wide enough that they don’t hit at that spot on me.

I’m 5’7 though, and folks much larger than me probably wouldn’t be comfortable. It is nice and compact, so fitting it into a kayak stern should be fairly easy, and I also plan to pack it in my backpack for music festivals.

It seems sturdy and sits you up high, so it’s not as hard on the knees as some similar models. The only reason I don’t think it’s a full 5 stars is because it’s a little tippy–you have to be careful how you sit down, or the legs will sway to the side and I am worried that that would break it.

For some background, I am 74, and I am in very good physical condition considering I’ve dealt with a hemispherical spinal cord injury affecting my right side partially paralyzing my right leg, arm and hand and weakening the right side of my core for 32 years.

I bought the chair so I could remove my shoes and other garments allowing me to get into my tent without dragging dirt, sand, mud, etc. into the tent. This chair is great. It’s light and compact when folded.

It’s easy to assemble, even by me while mostly using my left hand. It feels sturdy to sit in and stable, and it is quite comfortable. Also it is high enough to easily get in and out of. I don’t feel as though I’m going to tip or fall out.

The feet are designed to work on both hard and soft surfaces and they do that well. Remarkably it is easy to disassemble and pack in the provided bag as well. In short, it’s a great chair.

We purchased 2 of these chairs 3 years ago. We pack it in the sidebags of our Harley’s. We’ve used them for camping and for just sitting and taking a rest while riding. Things we’ve noted compared to other chairs our friends had: – The lip at the bottom of the legs stops the leg from sinking into soft grass, and helps while in sand or rocks.

Our friend’s chairs didn’t have this lip and sunk. – This chair holds a lot of weight and fits wider hips. Neither my husband or I are small people. – It’s easy to get back into the bag and small enough to fit in so many places.

– We have sat these chairs in the middle of a creek to relax and enjoy the afternoon and we’ve had no issues with water damage. We’ve done this numerous times. I can’t tell you the times people have commented when I’ve stopped on the side of a road on the Harley and pulled out my chair to relax and take a rest.

Be warned that the black foot pieces come off really easily, especially when using in grass. After using the chair ONE time, the chair sank into the grass, and we couldn’t find the lost foot-piece. After that, the chair kept sinking into the ground and we almost lost another! Decathlon couldn’t provide a replacement footpiece, and wouldn’t exchange the chair or give store credit for it.

Really disappointed in the design quality of the product and would not recommend it (unless you want to try first super-glueing or duct-taping the foot pieces).

It’s my first time to go camping. Thank God I hauled this item up the mountain w me. My friends didn’t bring a chair w them so they sat on the floor while we ate. everyone wanted to sit on it when I wasn’t around.

It was super comfy and easy to assemble. I didn’t need instruction manual to assemble it. The only suggestion I would like to make is for u to make it lighter and pls make it cheaper. It’s the only chair w a back thats cheaper the other one that’s bigger, heavier to carry and expensive.

The other choice lowest price to this ( I believe it’s about 79 HKD), though cheap, had no back support. So I only bought this product bec I had no other choice. I really had to think hard before buying this.

The quality is good though. super comfy. I could sleep on it if it wasn’t so cold up the mountain.

handy chairs to take to the beach or camping. have had two for the past 1. 5 years with mild use. only downside is that the rubber foot at the end has broken (and now the chair sinks into the ground causing the sitter to topple over).

contacted decathlon and they informed me they don’t carry replacements for their foldable chairs. odd for a company that prides themselves on low ecumenical impact and fixing versus buying new.

At first I had a hard time putting the 4th loop onto pole, then I had a duh moment. There’s a tab there for a reason. Pull on it and it will go easily This chair is a little heavier than it’s competition, but not by much.

It’s a lot more comfortable and sits higher. Worth the extra pound If you haven’t had a backpacking chair before, beware. All of them want to sink so select place carefully and sit slowly.

I give it three stars because if you are a dainty older woman such as myself, it’s really really hard to get the poles in the sleaves. I had to call upon my superhuman Wonder Woman strength to get it put together.

I thought there was some sort of secret so I went online and found these reviewers who said the same thing. The secret to making it a tad easier (although not much easier) is to put on the bottom sleeves first.

It is comfortable and lightweight.

I bought a pair of these for our car camping holidays. We recently camped at a holiday park and tested them out on the grassed site. The chairs worked well to lounge in for my husband and I. My husband would have preferred the back of the chair to be taller but found it comfortable enough.

It was a perfect fit for me but I’m small and short. There were two other down sides to the chairs. Our two preschool children can’t use the chairs as they kept tipping the chair forward. Another down side is that when we sit in the chairs and lean forward to eat at the table, the front legs jam into this position.

To use the chairs in its intended position, we had to pull the jammed front legs out of the holes and reinsert them. Easy fix but it limits how you can use the chairs. But we still love the chairs. They’re ultralight and easily folds back into the bags.

We have them set up in the house at the moment to use around the rumpus when watching the kids or extra seating wherever it is needed.

I love this Pegasus hiking chair. Staff were fantastic, lady on phone helped me thru online catalog and options available, only took 2 work days to get to me. I’m 80kg approx, used on a 24 day canoe trip only issue I had was the mesh, mozzies could get me, solution put towel on it when required, carry bag doubling up as storage bag on frame was really useful.

Dried quickly when wet. Other cheaper chairs on trip had issues, rubber feet stop came off, main bar between brackets became loose, one blew into fire. On soft sand surface, a disc, mat or hessian bag would be helpful to stop legs sinking in.

Takes 2 minutes to put together or take apart. Fits back nicely in its carry bag without having to wrestle it. Perfect for me (I’m short and size 8) but not sure a really tall guy or larger framed person would fit comfortably because it sits close to the ground.

But most light weight chairs do. Used it on 2 camp trips to date. Over all very good product so far.

Decent chair, very lightweight. I had a very specific use case, I wanted to see whether it would be able to sit me upright in bed to help with sleep apnea while in the woods. It wasn’t able to do that, but that’s not what it’s designed for anyway.

The reason I ended up returning it was because I couldn’t justify keeping it as a chair. It’s a little gimmicky. Sure it makes a nice chair but you’re still sitting on the ground. And it’s hard to really lean back into and be comfortable.

It doesn’t support the back very well. Almost, but not quite. I’ll save my money and spend it on an actual lightweight chair instead.

I tested this product at home to check which size I needed (I have a NeoAir and went with the 20″ rather than the 25″ – the labelling doesn’t indicate which size fits with which product, unfortunately), and I didn’t think it was that comfortable so was almost going to take it back – duh! Of course compared to my couch its not great, buuuuuuut when I took it backpacking I was SO happy I had it! To be able to sit and read in comfort, with back support was lovely (although no lower back support, but could jimmy that with a fleece or something).

I’m not sure I’d take it on longer backpacks where there is less time around camp and weight is crucial (even though it’s not that heavy, everything adds up), but for shorter ones where there is more opportunity for relaxing, I think it is fabulous!.

I have experimented with a lot of camp seat options – the weight is key for me. This thing is the BEST solution I have found. 10 oz is lighter than almost anything out there and the sleeping pad is already in my pack.

As a bonus this thing works with 20″ Thermarest and Klymit pads – all lengths. Yup, the short ones work just as well. Not only that, but the warmth is real. you can actually feel your heat being reflected back to you (with a Thermarest pad) making this a great 3 season option.

Well worth the investment.
