20 Best Chair For Nursing (2022 Updated)

Very very happy with this purchase. Super comfortable as a glider and recliner. It’s not bulky so it’s easy to find a space for it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because you need a decent amount of push to close the foot rest part of the recliner (I imagine that this might be a bit difficult for a few weeks for those who she c sections).

But overall I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and we will be purchasing another one for the living area.

Should have listened to the other reviewers. , kind of regret getting this chair. I’ve had it 8 months already and it’s squeaking pretty bad. I’m roughly 150lbs but the squeaking actually started around the 3rd month I got it.

But because I liked the price and the fact that it was pink I wanted to give it the benifit of the doubt. But yeah, I wouldn’t recommend you buying this. It’s not even that cushioned well, hurts my bottom and back after sitting on it too long and seems kind of lopsided.

On one side seems wider than the other. Not padded well either while nursing my baby he moves a lot and he’d hit his head on the white wood pretty often. If you’re willing to spend this much on a chair I recommend looking somewhere else with better quality.

We purchased this glider for my elderly aunt when she moved to Assisted Living. She loved it. This was purchased in May. It is January and the arm rest piece has broken, not at the screw attachment, the wood fell apart.

I don’t know how she was not injured during this incident, she is frail. I see common issues for reviews of this product elsewhere on line with preferred vendors. It is cheap and the components are not made to last.

Very easy to put together, took maybe 15 minutes. Smelt very strong of paint when opening it from the box. Cushions are not very full and material looks like a cheap shiny colour. Very quiet and smooth glider.

The paint is a nice bright white with no dings or scrapes. Frame seems great but just disappointed with the quality of the material and cushions. Makes me wonder how much more you’d have to pay to get that better material and stuffing.

Would recommend if your looking for a chair that’s not going to be sat in all the time- don’t think the cushions will last. Colour in the pictures also looked darker then in person.

The delivery of these chairs was chaotic and the boxes were somewhat torn up, but the chairs arrived sooner than I originally thought they would and look great!! I ordered 4 to go around a round table to give it a softer look than a typical dining area.

I needed something that presented lighter but that worked with the rest of the room and would not be a worry with spills. The black background in this boucle fabric with the nice white color overlay is perfect for us! The swivel works and everything is all together so no having to do it ourselves.

I looked at all the measurements before buying to make sure they would fit with our 30″ high & 48″ round table. Very happy with the purchase!.

I purchased this chair last July, but have only been using it regularly since October. I have been using it to rock my son to sleep for his naps and at bed time. Approximately 2. 5 weeks ago, the chair started squeaking and creaking loudly every time I use it.

The noise is very loud and sounds like a car that needs new breaks, making it impossible for my son to fall asleep. No matter what I do, I can’t get the chair to stop. The chair is still under warranty, so my husband reached out to babyletto, but it’s been over a week and we have not heard back.

If you don’t care about very loud and unpredictable noises, this chair is fine as an inexpensive choice for a small space; albeit a bit uncomfortable at first. I wish I had spent a bit more to get something a bit higher quality.

I’ll start by saying I do really enjoy this chair. It’s got such a cute shape and looks good in our living room. The material is so soft and very easy to clean – a must when you have two small children.

It’s surprisingly comfortable to sit in for extended amounts of time. I did take stars off though because after having it a month it’s already developed a rather loud squeak. Any parent knows that’s the worst when you are desperately trying to rock a baby to sleep at 3am.

If that is your reason for looking at this chair right now, beware. Otherwise it’s a nice chair.

I love this rocker. I got it to rock my daughter in when she naps. She is now 8 months old, so I don’t know if this is really suitable for the newborn stage was nursing is a little more difficult, but it’s very comfortable and I don’t find the low back to be too low, personally.

My only complaint is that I have the chair sitting on hardwood so it kind of slides around when sitting down/standing up. Regardless, I definitely recommend this chair!.

I would like this rocker, if I hadn’t spent more money to get a more quality item just to have to work on stains it came with. I haven’t even used the item and it came with stains in multiple spots. It also creaks so much once put together.

I’ve rechecked the installation to ensure that it was tight enough. Nothing seems to help the creaking.

Not at all what I expected. I should have heeded the warning from other reviews but really wanted to try for myself. big mistake. As another review has mentioned the chair on the picture is not what you will receive as the company has updated their model but Target has not updated their photos.

There is not a cross bar which is a bit of a bummer because more wood helps tone down the appearance of a lot of fabric- in my opinion. My rocker is very squeaky. I am in the process of discussing how to fix the issue with the manufacture.

They have been very helpful which is a positive. Overall the chair isn’t that comfy, you have to be careful because it scoots back as you rock, it can be squeaky. All in all you are paying a pretty penny and you can most definitely find a rocker that is more comfortable, has a place to rest your head, is easy to rock, does not squeak.

The lumbar support pillow is not as amazing as the picture shows either. A tiny little pillow that does not help support my 120lb body. Just look around so you don’t fall for the modern design. Unless that is your thing of course- having furniture that looks cool as opposed to having furniture that serves a purpose.

I decided I needed a rocker for my bedroom, in addition to the nursery, for my son. I splurged on the rocker for his room and wanted something cheap, functional, and cute for my bedroom. I am 5 ft, so it doesn’t fit me perfectly, but a few throw pillows helped make it more comfortable.

My 6’3 husband finds it very comfortable. This rocker is perfect for what I need.

I’m 25 weeks pregnant and I chose this chair because I needed a smaller chair for my small nursery. This chair was super easy to put together. Myself and my boyfriend can each fit in it fine, and it is good for the space I have, but I would prefer if it were slightly taller and the seat was higher.

Overall though, I’m so far happy with this purchase.

I was worried about the height from the ground because Im 5ft2 and hoped I would be able to touch my feet to the floor to rock my baby, but it is the perfect height!! My 6ft boyfriend also sits comfortably in it.

I really love this Rocking chair! I purchased it because my newborn was having trouble falling asleep and I originally didn’t think we would need a rocker but alas we caved and started searching. I did tons of research all over the Internet and I found this one was very attractive and was probably the best priced rocking chair that can transfer out of the nursery eventually.

When it arrived we assembled it right away and it was slightly difficult but manageable with two people, we completed the assembly in less than 30 minutes. After giving it a try with an overtired newborn, he quickly fell sleep in my arms and I was extremely comfortable! you can rest your head along the side of the chair and I was able to also sit with my legs crossed and him asleep in my lap so there was lots of room.

I’m extremely happy with this piece and I would purchase it again!.

I recently moved to take care of my grandson. I had gotten everything except a rocking chair. I looked and looked because I’m in a smaller apartment and most of the upholstered chairs were too large.

I found this on Amazon and I’m thrilled. The sellers are easy to work with. The chair is comfortable very easy to assemble and is perfect in my bedroom the rockers are padded so can be used on a hard surface floor without noise.

I love being able to rock my grandson to sleep when he visits.

Super cheap quality. We moved this chair from once when deciding where to put it in the nursery, and it has squeaked ever since. Extremely annoying when trying to put a baby to sleep. Additionally, I used my elbow on the arm rest to reposition, and the arm rest cracked beneath my body weight.

Both sides have cracked, it wasn’t just a fluke. I also don’t love how the recliner won’t stay down, you have to push the backrest the entire time. Takes some strength to put the footrest down as well.

I gave two starts because it is quite comfortable, and I like the color and material. It is very stain resistant.

Garbage! It doesn’t even glide forward, just backwards. So you’re literally just pushing back, back, back. Not to mention the click, click, click as you go. When you recline, it doesn’t stay back either.

You have to use your body weight/ strength to keep it reclined. The back is also very short, my head almost hangs over and I’m 5’7. I had this in my house less than an hour before we returned it. Save yourself the disappointment, it is absolute trash.

I purchased this chair in November while in my 3rd trimester carrying twins. The babies arrived early at 30 weeks and I didn’t get to use the chair until recently when we finally came home after a 2.

5mo nicu stay. It was delivered sooner than expected, and I paid for delivery service, so they placed the chair where we wanted it. It’s heavy & would be difficult for one person to move. It is a solid piece of furniture that appears well made.

The recline functions well, though I haven’t used it much, and the adjustable head rest makes a difference- nice touch. My biggest complaint is that the chair is too big for a short legged person. It sits high off the ground and the seat is deep, both adding up to make it not very comfortable for me.

I am 5’3”, and if I am able to scoot myself back- which you can’t really do while holding a newborn (nor two) then my feet don’t touch the ground. I am unable to make it rock then. When I put a pillow behind me so my legs will actually touch, it gets really uncomfortable on my back.

So, despite the positives, this chair isn’t a home run. The availability (compared to pottery barn, crate & barrel, etc) was why I made a rushed purchase. If you are tall, it will be fine.

Overall I like this chair and it gets the job done. I bought the chair because it rocked and reclined. However once you kick up your feet, you cannot rock. So rocking is only available when sitting upright.

I’m 5’9” and when I sit upright my head is too high to be supported by the head rest and my feet dangle so I have to touch the floor with tip toes. Not particularly comfortable. Also, when you put the legs up the back automatically reclines too.

I wish I could sit upright with my feet extended and recline the back rest separately when desired. I love that the recline buttons are in easy reach, but would suggest having them on both sides. This is advertised as a nursery chair.

When I’m nursing on the right I am stuck in whatever position we start in because I can’t reach over baby to make a change. The color and fabric are excellent. We have already had to clean some spills and they wiped up easily.

For the price the chair should come with a lumbar support pillow. Had excellent communication with the company for delivery and everything arrived in a very timely fashion.

Overall, I really like this chair and I think it’s fantastic quality for the price. It’s sturdy, supportive, the fabric is durable, and I love that it’s not big and fluffy like other popular recliner brands that offer an adjustable headrest feature.

It’s a great full-featured recliner for a smaller nursery/room. The disappointing part to me is that the back rest is not tall enough and it makes the headrest not work great for me. I’m 5’8″ and the base of the headrest hits a couple inches below the tops of my shoulders, so when I tip the headrest forward, it pushes my shoulders forward.

The headrest is just barely usable for me when I recline back, because reclining opens up a little more vertical space for my back to stretch out. If I’m sitting upright in the chair, there’s no way I could tip the headrest forward and have it be comfortable.

I included a couple of photos to show where the headrest hits in relation to my head and shoulders. Even without tipping the headrest at all, the back just doesn’t go up high enough to support my 5’11” husband’s head if he leans back against it, so it wouldn’t be useful to him in a reclining position at all.

The measurements listed in the specs for this recliner (and for the Glider+) don’t actually give the height of the back rest from the seat to the top and that would have been really helpful information to have.

I would say this chair is probably a good fit for anyone up to about 5’6″ max. I also think the proportions in terms of height are odd overall. my feet barely touch the floor when sitting in the chair, while at the same time I’m too tall for the back rest.

If Nurture& would make a tall version of this exact chair, it would be the perfect chair!.

This is the chair you have been looking for. It’s so comfy, the cushions are thick and not flimsy like other brands. The gliding motion is so smooth and quiet, no clicks or jerking motion like other brands.

It came in 2 pieces and only needs 4 screws to put together, it’s solid wood throughout. The light grey is a pretty grey, not too dark or too light. Arm pads Velcro on but it seems strong. If you are looking for quiet comfort to rock your little one or even just yourself, this is the chair to buy.

My husband and I have 3 children. We had a regular upholstered rocking recliner chair with our first and it was fine. Then we upgraded to a Dutailier with our second child after realizing how much time we spent rocking our first child.

The biggest draw for us was the ability to glide and have our feet up at the same time, as you cannot recline in any other chair and continue to move. But thats not the only great thing about these chairs.

You can recline and glide, they’re slim in profile, the cushions are comfortable, and the nursing ottoman is a great addition. Everyone in my house, husband included, LOVE this chair. It’s the perfect width and height for us, as average height and sized folks.

The arm rests are comfy and the right height as well. And the quality is wonderful. Over and over I would say to go for it with these comfortable gliders. My husband can’t wait to move it to our main living space someday!.

I received this via FedEx today, which was earlier than expected. It was packaged very well in a huge box. There wasn’t much assembly involved, just attaching the top of the chair to the bottom part.

The stool was even easier to assemble with a few screws. This seems to be a quality product with very comfy seat and back pads. I bought this for my elderly mother to use. I can’t wait to see how she likes it.

Sturdy chair and easy to rise from due to nice height and extra firm cushions. It fits easily into rooms and functions fine. The chair, however, is not the color pictured and so I was disappointed: wood is much lighter, cushion color is more of a cornflower blue, and the fabric has a chemical smell.

This is a functional chair, not one you want to sink into. Bought for aging parents as it is easy to sit in and rise from.

In the past we have purchased rockers for our center and with its constant use daily they don’t last. This product is worth the longevity it will last. The swivel is a great feature that allows you to care multiple babies.

I bought this glider for my second baby. I wish I’d had it for my first! Love that there are wings by the head so I can rest while nursing. It would have been very useful for the long nights when you are half asleep feeding (not that you should ever fully sleep while feeding a baby like that).

The armrests are a nice height to prop the head side of the nursing pillow up a little higher. Some reviews mentioned that it’s hard to close, and it does take some effort. I have to push it down, slide to the front edge of the seat, then give it a swift kick with my heel to fully close it.

It’s not strenuous doing it in two steps like that – although full disclosure I didn’t have a c-section. Personally I think the stiffer leg rest is worth it so that my legs don’t collapse downward. If there’s any negative it’s only that my 3 year old doesn’t easily fit in it with me while I’m holding the baby.

We can squish, but it’s tight. However, I live in a very small house so the smaller size it worth it. We move to the couch if we need cuddles. I wish I’d had this glider the first baby too! Love it!.

Didn’t have a rocker with my first born, but having this thing now has come in handy! So many reviews complain about squeaking, I have yet to hear any noise from it. I use the sides to close my eyes during nightly feedings.

I’m 5’3” and I found that the back is too far in BUT I put a throw pillow there and it is 10x more comfortable! The hardest part about the chair is the recline but the more I use it the easier it gets to recline it.

When you pull the lever it allows you to just have your feet at a small angle, then you have to push back to get the feet all the way up, which I only use if I’m exhausted anyways. Mom of 2 now, so laying down creates me to be lazy which is not acceptable for me or my toddler.

My baby days are over, but my appreciation of an extremely comfortable, supportive chair isn’t! My ‘new’ chair didn’t come with a footstool, but despite this, it’s already occupying the title of most fought over seat in the house.

Two teenagers were hoisted out of it within the first hour, with my third teenager ending up claiming it for the rest of the night. I managed to get 10 minutes use while they got their old mum a cuppa (a girl has to pull the ‘get me a cup of tea please’ card every-so often!) I’m also delighted that the covers are washable, and the pocket in both arm rests are going to be so handy for glasses, remote, etc, when I finally lay claim to my new throne.

Meanwhile, I might have to buy at least 3 more of these chairs for the sake of family peace. Highly recommended, for anyone that loves a comfortable chair! Solid and well constructed, with well filled, generous padding to seat cushions.

I love this chair. So comfortable, easy to rock. Cant wait to nurse my little one in it! Arm rest pockets incredibly handy for snacks, books and magazines etc. The couple I bought this glider from were a delight.

My chair arrived today, so excited I couldn’t wait for my husband to get home so myself heavily preggos and my little girl put it together. The wood is strong and solid, looks great small downside the right arm rest could not screw together.

Luckily I have a power tool had to make the hole larger to fit the screw in. This part took me 2 hours to figure out but once it was all put together I was relieved. Lovely piece of furniture 20 less than the one at mothercare.

I ordered this to nurse my baby in as well as give me some relief in pregnancy and I’m not disappointed. The chair is soo comfortable and can recline and glide! The food stool also glides which is a nice feature m.

The only thing I would say is if you are a size 18+ I wouldn’t recommend this chair as I am a 12 and it is quite snug. Other than that it is perfect and it has made a perfect addition to the nursery and does not take up too much space either!.

great chair, soothes my baby but here and there itll squeek, i just use oil stuff on the nuts every few days to stop it so its no big deal. Also if your a bigger person, when you stand up your hips will sometimes unlatch the arms causing the position to change which can be frustrating ( definitely my own issue but still a word of warning).

I bought this chair to replace an old similar one that had become very noisy from over use. Unfortunately this one was even worse, the gliding mechanics isn’t the problem like our old one but simply the back rest, the wooden spindles are so creaky, it would be impossible to nurse the little one in as she falls asleep nursing and would soon be wide awake again.

Only received this morning but will be returning once the hubby dismantles it. Very disappointed!.

It’s a shame the cushion cover can’t be removed and washed. Other than this the chair and footstool are great, really comfortable and the rocking helps my baby to sleep. I’ve sat up in it all night no problem, would recommend.

This recliner is extremely poor quality from the same chair I had purchased some years ago. The chair feels much less sturdy and the Velcro and screws seem to be falling apart from everywhere. Every rocking motion seems to loosen more Velcro! How is what is essentially a rocking chair held together with Velcro??? If I hadn’t been in dire need of it (baby will only sleep being rocked in it) I would have returned it and researched and purchased something better.

Bought for our daughter whose baby is due soon, she and our son in law love it, they say it’s really comfortable, they can’t wait to spend time soothing and feeding their newborn in this chair
