20 Best Chairs For Carpet (2022 Updated)

I keep reading about a massage feature in reviews, but after setting it up and using it, there is nothing of the sort here. It’s a good chair, I’m a 5’1 170 lb woman with wide hips, and I fit perfectly fine on it, it might not work with someone taller or bigger.

I do wish it was more “uncomfortable” which is what I was looking for in a chair. Something that doesn’t allow me to melt into the chair too much, and sit up straight. This kind of allows getting too comfortable, but if you have a firm pillow you can fit in the dip between lower back and the chair.

I have been using the plush luxury leather chairs most of my adult life for gaming and work on computer, and I have had nothing but back issues. My posture has gotten horrible. I recently sat in one of those cheapie little desk chairs that forced me to sit up straight, and it felt so good to have spine aligned right.

This inspired my decision to buy this, but it might be a bit too comfortable for me still.

The lumbar back part is amazing on this chair. Compared to my other chair which I very much like, the lumbar is much more significant on this Home Office Chair w Lumbar Support. The seat cushion is a little thinner and the actual size is smaller but not bad at all.

The arm rests are narrow on this chair. 3″ seems to be perfect and on this chair they are about 2″. None of these things mentioned are complaints, just observations to be considered. I would recommend this chair for sure.

If you are a very large person you may want a chair with a wider seat and thicker cushion. But this is very comfortable for small and average sized people. One big factor for me was the ability to raise it pretty high and that works great with this chair.

Ehhh should have bought my other option, it came in and of course I was excited till I opened the box and the directions and parts with “letters” to match was a JOKE! None of them matched nor did I get a clear understanding of where and what screws go.

I winged it and and some of the bolts didn’t work as for length. Again winged it. lol The title and lock does not work for crap! The arms are cool to save space but for comfort and help support your arms to prevent pain from sitting too high or low is another joke.

You will not find comfort in this chair at all!! Not even the back supports the back. Moving the support board doesn’t even matter it’s not in the right place. I needed a chair quickly for having to work from home.

I seen some reviews about the crap office chair but I have it a chance anyways. Can’t wait to get a chair that actually supports the needs I need.

Terrible back support. The bad angle of backrest and no padding around the metal bar frame that surrounds the back pleather & mesh prevents it from being comfortable and supported. I thought since it was a Serta chair the seat cushion would be comfortable, but it is cheap and not much firm cushioning.

You get what you pay for – in this case, junk with no support. I developed terrible lower back pain and am trashing this chair and going back to sitting in a dining chair at my desk. Earns one star for the appearance and fairly easy to assemble.

Don’t waste your money.

I needed an office type chair while working from home. I loved the look of this chair. I really wanted a white chair to match my white desk. I thought it looked like it would be comfortable too. I was wrong on the comfort of the chair.

The back of the chair is to far back. It’s impossible so sit up straight in the chair, making my back hurt. The seat of the chair is not comfortable either. It has little to no cushioning on it. It feels like you are sitting on a piece of wood.

I’m used to an all mesh chair at work, that has no cushioning either. The mesh chair at work is very comfortable. Also, the chair at the lowest level will not tuck under my desk. The arms stop it from going under the desk, which also makes it twice as hard to sit up straight if you work on a computer and type all day.

You constantly have to lean forward to be able to type because the arm don’t let you get close enough to the desk. Very disappointed in the chair. My legs and back are killing me after sitting in it for 8 hours.

This chair is cute but NOT STURDY AT ALL!!!. Did not last more than 4 months and started wobbling. I bought it for my daughter when schools closed at the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis. This chair didn’t hold up to 95lb middle schooler.

This item was received in a larger solid box. Unfortunately, the hardware bag had opened and was spread throughout, but after taking everything out, I was lucky enough to find all the pieces. After putting it together, it seems as pictured.

I’m a woman about 5′ 8″, 145 lbs, and the chair seems sturdy enough for me, however, if you are bigger, it may not be sturdy or wide enough. My only major complaint (and the reason for 4 stars)- the casters don’t seem to roll as smoothly as I’d like- but, I can get some better quality ones for minimal price at a hardware store.

Overall, seems to be what I needed for occasional office use.

I absolutely love this chair! It is very high quality and well built. It supports the lumbar very well. It looks very rich in an office. You will feel like royalty in it. It weighs 45 lbs, so you know it is sturdy.

It is very simple to assemble (I had it put together in less than 10 minutes). I highly recommend this chair to everyone.

This is the best investment I have made in several years. Easy to install. Very comfortable to set in. I would recommend this chair to anyone who spends a lot of time sitting at their desk. The lower lumbar support has stopped by aching back and the head rest is perfect.

Everything great, with this exception. on the upper right corner of the chair back. there is a one inch flaw. the edge of the chair material is not properly sewn into the seam resulting in an open seam.

Rather than enter the time consuming hassle of return, we decided to keep the chair and hope for the best. We don’t have kids, so the chair will have very gentle use and care. However, it was disappointing.

I ordered this chair as I wanted something more stylish since you can see my open concept office from adjoining rooms. This chair is definitely stylish with the gold accents and the contrast of the black seat.

The chair is more comfortable than I expected with the high back and it does offer some lumbar support. I’m short so having this is rare. I can sit in this chair comfortably all day. I also appreciate how affordable this chair is and it arrived just a few days after I ordered.

Communication was superb from when the order was received, being processed and then full shipping and tracking details were sent the next day!! Overall, I’m very very impressed and love my chair!!.

The chair overall is a good value, comfortable, and stylish. The manufacturing, however, could have been better. During assembly it is required that you attach the chair arms to the seat section with the screws provided.

The screws were there, but what was missing was the holes in the vinyl. I had to feel for the holes below the vinyl and delicately cut out openings to allow the screws to penetrate. This presented an opportunity to ruin the seat and shows a complete lack of quality control in the manufacturing and inspection process.

This chair was purchased for two reasons; 1. It Says Big & Tall on the box, 2. Cloth fabric, not bonded leather. The cloth is wonderful! Loved that from the beginning. However, the lowest setting on the chair was still too high for me and I’m 5′ 6 1/2″ which is pretty average height for a woman.

My feet could not sit flat on the floor, even on lowest setting. If I were a tall person, it would be great but I bought the chair for the 350lb support. The chair is very sturdy and would definitely hold upwards of 350 lbs.

However, the seat is not wide or deep enough for a larger rump. If you are “big” then it stands to reason that your posterior is larger than normal. The seat on this chair is not. But the worst thing that was wrong was the steel bracket that attaches the top piece to the seat was bent.

The back of the chair sat at an angle, mushed down on one side, and there was no fixing it. We took it apart twice and it always went back the same way. It was clearly bent and it was not from shipping but from manufacturing.

It is most certainly a manufacturing error. While it doesn’t prevent the chair from operating properly, why would I pay full price for an item that is defective? If I’m paying full price then I expect a properly made item.

In conclusion. PROS: Nice cloth, very sturdy – CONS: Seat not large enough, sits too high from floor, defect in manufacturing. I only recommend this chair IF you get a non-defective one, AND IF you are very tall but NOT big in the rump or thighs.

I have had many chairs in the past that just don’t last. I am on the heavy side and always hesitant on weight limit on chairs and this one is still going! I am 340lbs. and 6’5″, it is very sturdy and a little comfortable in sitting but the padding is a little thin.

It really needs better padding in the seat, specially on the arm rest. The back rest is pretty good but there is no headrest. I use a chair mat and it rolls great on the mat, but not so good on carpet.

The assembly was easy. The hydraulics on this chair is fantastic. I have had no issues with it leaking like the ones I have had in the past. The reclining on the chair is really nice and does not recline way back like a lot of other chairs do and I like that about this chair.

Not bad chair overall. I’m sure you get what you pay for. The back is a little shorter than I expected but I probably didn’t measure correctly. My head doesn’t lay up against the back but it’s not the end of the world.

I’m 5’7”. One of the places to screw a bolt into the threads wasn’t done correctly I guess because no matter how many times I tried and how many bolts I tried, it would not easily go in. So I had to force it in as much as I can without snapping the bolt.

Pretty sure it’s cross-threaded but I don’t plan on taking the chair apart. Feels decent, don’t expect anything really fancy. Could be more comfortable but I work from home and always on the computer.

I will prolly invest in a nicer one later on but I needed a replacement quick. I like the squishy, soft type of chairs and not the stiff gaming “racing” style ones since I’m in it so much. For the price, not bad.

I bought the Boss Fabric Task Chair, Black (B315-BK). Original delivery got damaged, so they sent it back to the wear house and I never saw it. They sent another one and it’s wonderful! I went from using a regular chair in my house, having to put books on it because it was too low, to this chair – a normal desk chair.

I love that it doesn’t have arms – they just get in the way for me, so this is great. It’s comfy for sure. It gives me more height than I need. It doesn’t roll out from under me and I have wood flooring.

My chair at work rolls out to easily and I’ve almost landed on the floor many times – but not this one (thank you). I would buy it again and I definitely recommend it. It’s not leather which means I don’t stick to it.

I ordered this in the blue tweed, which is very nice–about 2 thirds navy, and one third light blue, so it looks medium-dark. I have an older and larger Boss chair that’s too big for me, but I bought it when when I weighed more, so I needed the heavier duty chair back then.

The new, smaller chair is more comfortable, and a good size for me, so I really like it, but it had one major flaw, which kept me from giving it 5 stars. The seat doesn’t bolt to the pedestal. When assembling the unit, you just lift the seat onto the pedestal.

This is very unsafe. They do provide several warnings not to try to lean back in the chair, but even sitting up in the chair, there is still a risk of the seat falling off of the pedestal. Had I known about this safety flaw before buying this chair, I wouldn’t have purchased it.

It’s really a shame, as the other features of the chair are very nice. I really needed a new task chair in a particular place in my new apartment, so I will keep it, but until the company fixes this flaw in this model, I recommend not buying it.

Had the chair not had this safety flaw, I would have given it 5 stars, but due to this issue I am only giving it 2 stars.

I waisted a substantial amount of time trying to find a esk chair that would meet my needs and didn’t cost a fortune. I was totally disappointed in what was available at brick and mortar stores for no matter what the price, they lacked support and were uncomfortable.

The “Boss” task chair was purchased online, unseen and delivered very quickly. It was super easy to assemble and the chair has the ability to lower and raise at a range good for the petite as well as the tall.

There is an adjustment for the back piece to change the depth of sitting in the seat. The back does tilt to allow leaning back ( to stretch). Great padding on both seat and back and is supportive which was my top priority.

The material is heavy duty, but it is a bit of a lint magnet. Do yourself a favor. Look no further and purchase this chair.

It has been awhile since I sat in a decent office chair but as soon as I sat in the Flash Furniture ergonomic office chair, I could quickly feel a difference and realized I have been missing so much by not using a quality office chair such as this.

This chair is very comfortable as the mesh provides a breathable fabric and ample airflow for seating long periods of time. I really liked the adjustable headrest, armrests and tilt option, as all very easy to use.

The lumbar support was amazing and very much appreciated as someone who has had back surgery. I welcomed the comfort and no-strain seat support. The chair itself was easy to put together and wheels are easy to move around.

This chair is a durable sturdy task chair. The flip-up arms are a great option when you need to push the chair up under a desk for extra room, or when you just need extra lap room for anything, like a guitar perhaps or you need to get up close to the desk.

The only thing I would like to see it have is more cushion in the seat, then it would merit 5 stars overall. People that suffer from seating pains may have to add a seat cushion or pillow to minimize bursitis pain.

For those that don’t have pain while seated, this is a fine chair. I like that the chair back is open mesh, so that your back is supported but doesn’t get hot. The soft padded armrests are more comfortable on arms and elbows than the mesh style.

Its nice that the chair is a hybrid of materials, all in the right places. The seat tilt spring squeaks as you rock on occasion, not a defect but it can be a little distracting. I suppose a little lube would solve that, but a factory mod would be the best solution.

Our office has these chairs. I found that the mesh contacts mostly the lower back, and after a few hours the back pain becomes overwhelming. I had to lay the chair on the floor and stand on the mesh in order to stretch it out enough to make even contact with my back.

After several attempts I have stretched out the mech enough so I can work again. But the mesh is still not stretched out enough. There should be a way to adjust the mesh tension, maybe on the next revision? Also the seat cushion goes flat after a hours or so and up end up sitting on a flat hard surface.

With that said this is still the best chair I’ve found so far. I sit at a test station 8-12 hours a day. I removed the arms from the chair, they just got in the way.

It is a beautiful and comfortable chair. However, I lost the instructions (and later found them after putting the chair together halfway), so it was difficult putting it together at first. The little plastic crystals sparkle like stars and make me smile at my beautiful chair.

It is fairly easy to adjust the chair to your height and it seems very sturdy. My only real problem was the black ring around the top of the chair legs was cracked in two places and I had to tape it up.

I saw that several reviews stated that this chair is comfortable, which is why I bought it. From the photos, the padding seemed like it should be comfortable but it is NOT. If I sit in the chair for longer than an hour, I have to slowly get it because it is so painful ( butt area).

I have owned this chair for 3 months and recently had to move a dining chair into my office because I can not take the discomfort anymore. I’m not sure if weight/size has anything to do with it, I am 5’2 and weigh 165lb.

As the name suggests, it’s a Basic chair, and it’s attractive at first glance, but you don’t buy a sub $50 chair for it’s design and quality. You buy this chair to use occasionally. Personally, I purchased 5 of these to use around my poker table, because the chairs that came with the table were horrible! These chairs are better construction and look nicer in my opinion, but again, I don’t believe these chairs were meant to be used on a daily basis or for extended periods of time.

Yes, it is made in china. But the quality could be better. The cushin started to flatten out pretty quickly.

My 10 year old daughter loves her new desk chair! The velvet material is soft and the chair is super comfortable. The blush color is very pretty too. Hard to roll on carpet but could easily buy a plastic mat to go underneath.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have been searching for a chair for my home desk for about 3 months now. This was my third one and it was worth it! Ergonomic mesh chairs are hard to find under $300.

The ones under $300 have terrible reviews. This chair is affordable (less than $200 was my goal) and seems to be made of quality material. So far, I’ve had no stretching of the mesh (this was a huge problem on reviews for other chairs) and that adjustability makes this chair great for different needs.

I have found even if the chair is not tall enough to have proper typing stance (elbows 90 degrees or slightly more open), the armrests can be raised so you’re able to have your elbows above the keyboard.

The standard recline of the chair is nice — not too far back, but it is adjustable if you want more of a recline. My biggest complaint is that the lumbar support does not actually touch your back (at least for me weighing less than 150lbs).

You have to apply quite a bit of pressure to feel that support bar, but the mesh isn’t too loose so this isn’t a huge problem. At full height of chair, anybody 5’6 or less should get a foot rest for proper posture.

Overall, great chair and so glad I found it.

The headrest is great and I’m now getting used to it. The height adjustable arm rests were great and moves up and down no problem. It seems durable but time will tell. Solid purchase and 100% will recommend to anyone!.

The ergonomic chair is easy to install, and it has one extra screw of each size, which made us feel kind of safe when putting everything together. The modern look is not that fancy but looks cool and the quality is decent.

It is pretty comfortable for me (as well as my cats. ), not too soft or too hard. The adjustable lower back support gives me more chance to make adjustment based on my needs, so as the head support. Five wheels make the chair move smoothly.

Everything seems durable and let’s examine it by time.

This is my first $200 office chair and quite an investment, but it’s totally worth it. It was quite easy to assemble and comes with adjustable hand rests, which is a very handy feature. The seat cushion feels supportive yet breathable.

The rubbery wheels are a nice touch since they don’t produce much noise while scrolling around (which my downstairs neighbor who has ultra-sensitive hearing appreciates. ) Overall, all parts are well built and have thoughts put into them.

Pretty! Installation is simple and comfortable to sit up! This butterfly wing-shaped waist support deeply attracted us. It can provide good support for the back. There is almost no sound from the wheels when sliding.

This mesh chair is beautiful and breathable. My wife just snatched it and threw hers to me. I will buy another one here if necessary.

Having suffered from a very bad lower back problem for 30 years, I felt it was time to treat myself to a decent office chair for all the long hours spent at the computer working from home. Now, if you don’t have a sore back, this might work for you as the reclining feature and footrest are great and very comfy.

However, the base cushion looks far squidgier in the photos than it actually feels and the massage function is more of a gentle vibration than a massage offering no relief whatsoever. The heat option was lovely though and a nice addition.

Sadly, I couldn’t raise the seat high enough for my desk but maybe this was how I put it together. The armrests are nicely padded, however, the white plastic on them does look a bit cheap. Having said all this, the customer service at Rymans was excellent and they organised the pick up for the return quickly and efficiently with the refund being processed the day after the return.

N. B. Just bear in mind that, should you wish to return it, it needs to be packaged in a very large box. Unfortunately, I had got rid of the original one so then had to source one from local furniture shops.

I’ve only had this chair for a day but seriously I’m so happy and excited about it that I needed to write about it. I’m 6’4-ish, and depending where I am in my training between 210-230lbs. I’m not Game of Thrones the Mountain big but I’m no small potato either.

I also spend a lot of time at my computer either playing games or just nerding out. My last chair was an office chair. The arm rests were fairly thin and small so I didn’t really use them much. The back cushion had actually broke under the weight of me leaning on it and was stuck in a short position.

It didn’t even reach the bottom of my neck. It was definitely time for a change, so I looked into getting one of those fancy gaming chairs. You know, the ones that people joke about when they’re accused of cheating in games? I picked this one up because it seemed like a happy medium between an entry chair and one of those overpriced monstrosities.

It arrived fairly quickly. Assembly was easy, I did it all myself while following the instructions. Everything needed was included. There was even a pair of work gloves which was a cute touch.

This chair arrived very well packed. All parts were included, and well packaged. The chair was relatively easy to assemble, the most difficult part being the attachment of the back, seat, and arms. The bolts that hold these things together go into very deep pockets, and are quite loose until you manage to locate the metal fitting inside the seat and back, which means you can’t really see whether or not you are “hitting the target“.

I probably fiddled around with this part of the assembly for an hour. The chair itself is fairly “budget“ in feel. The padding is quite firm (which is a good thing). The covering material might be prone to wear, but time will tell.

The chair itself looks good, and is quite comfortable to sit in. I was very happy with the range of height, and the supplied mechanism for adjusting the height and locking the recline seems very sturdy and worked without issue or difficulty.

The arms in particular are quite comfortable and covered with the same material as the back and seat, which feels good on your arms, rather than plastic or rubber which can feel sweaty. Not being covered with plastic or similar material is a big plus for me – makes this chair quite comfortable to sit in.

I am 6’2” so the “headrest” on this doesn’t come anywhere close to my head, so this is more of a medium back chair.

This chair is a solid 4. The instructions were very well done. Took less than 10 minutes to put this together. All you need is the allen wrench that is included. No, this is not some top of the line chair you’d furnish a legit office with.

I got this for my 7 year old in preparation for the upcoming virtual distance learning school year. Decent, affordable chairs were sold out everywhere because of schools implementing virtual schooling and many companies going telework because of the pandemic.

This was under $50 and had the look and comfort I wanted for her room. I doubt this will withstand a full grown adult of 150 lbs in the long term. But for my needs, this chair was perfect. I spray painted the bottom gold before assembly to match her pink room with gold accents and it looks like a $100 chair.

We did not encounter the issue others had with screws digging into the seat cushion. Those reviews are from 2016 so the manufacturer might have fixed that issue? Not sure, but just to be safe, I did not over tighten the screws.

We’re smaller people and did not encounter the issue others had with the back support bar digging into backs either. Again, not a top tier chair, but definitely a solid 4 for cost effectiveness, aesthetic and comfort level.

This chair is exactly as described! The pictures are very accurate. It took me about 10 minutes to put it together and I’m not handy. It rolls like a dream. It spins. It’s very comfortable to sit in.

It’s sturdy and I don’t worry about my kids using it. It’s also very cute. The white leather seems to be made very well. We’ve had it for a few months and had no problems. Works great!.

Comfortable office chair and good for long hours of sitting and working. The only issue is that it’s hard to get the arm attached on one side. After a while the screw loosens and falls out leaving the right-side arm wobbly.

I’ve bought this chair three times because I moved and wanted this chair in two different rooms. It is very comfortable for your home office but because the arm is so difficult to attach, I’ll try out a different office chair when I need one again.

This chair at best is a $99 chair and I would pass it up at that price if I could have sat in it at the store. For one thing don’t let anyone tell you it goes together easy. I had to go to the hardware store and buy a tap and die set to chase all the threads except for one putting this chair together.

I also had to use a pair of scissors to finish the job that should have been done at the factory around the threaded holes that were full of stuffing from the back of the fake leather. The reason they tell you not to tighten the bolts as you go is because by the time you got them all in they don’t line up perfectly and you are using a pipe on the end of the allen wrench for some holes.

I am 5′ – 11″ tall and I’m far from fat at 193 lbs and this chair is too small for me. I feel like I’m ready to fall right off the front of it. The only good thing I can say about this chair is the seat is comfortable.

One more thing the base legs of this chair is not made out of metal, it’s just more cheap plastic painted silver. Serta makes chairs like they make mattresses and I’d never buy another one of those again either.

For $314 that I paid for this chair I got rooked. Plus I had to pay another $70 for the tap and die set to be able to screw the bolts in and in one of the inserts the threads were rusted. To give this chair one star is too much too.

So we’re going to have to take the chair apart and put it back together and hopefully that fixes what’s actually wrong. Oh and it’s on back order for 8-10 weeks. So hopefully the chair even makes it that long.

It’s super comfy but fell apart way too fast and is way to expensive for that. I’ve had $60 Amazon chairs last longer. Needless to say I’ll never purchase from Serta again.
