20 Best Chairs For Programming (2022 Updated)

After an exhaustive search for a chair within my price range (about $350 being the most), I had finally settled on this chair. I found it for sale on Amazon but sold out during the Amazon 2 Day sale they do each year.

So I found the manufacturers website where it was still in stock. I’ve had it for about a week and everyone in my home is impressed with the comfort and multiple points of adjustability. Put it together in about 30 minutes, zero hassle.

The packing was amazing, each piece individually protected with ample cushion so zero damage in transit. There’s so much that can be said about this chair. The different reclining positions it can be locked into or left open to recline as desired.

The rollerblade style wheels that let me glide on carpet! Adjustable headrest in both height and angle. The seat is incredibly comfortable and so much cooler than my old leather chair because of the mesh type of construction.

Nice padded armrests that move in several directions. Most importantly is the lumbar support it offers me. I have several crushed vertebrae in my lower back and adequate lumbar support was an absolute must.

I’m very very pleased and will be purchasing one for my wife soon. Thank you Nouhaus!.

I’ve had this chair about a month now and it’s a huge step up from my previous chair. I’m 6’0, 190lbs with an athletic build and this chair just fits me. Anyone taller will be running a little past this chairs comfort zone, but anyone less will be fine.

The mesh is springy, comfortable, and keeps me nice and cool. Assembly was pretty standard for an office chair and the build is sturdy with little to no squeaks or creaks. I did reverse the arm rests from left to right & vice versa so I could move closer to my desk and while it’s not intended it works perfectly for me.

The lumbar is also spot on. It’s present but not obtrusive like some other chairs out there and it promotes good posture. All in all, it’s a great chair and worth the investment. The only thing I would change about this chair would be to add a tiny bit of foam(like the front of the chair has) to the sides of the seat to alleviate your legs touching the far edges of the frame that’s beneath the mesh.

This is a very minor annoyance though(plus I’m on the top end of what this chair is spec’ed for) and I’ve grown more accustomed to it over time.

I am one who doesn’t like the arm rests on chairs because they tend to get in my way while I am reaching for various things around me so that is really nice. Because this chair does not have arm rests, it also slides very neatly under my desk! The color is awesome – my favorite color and is a fun pop to bring me energy to get some work accomplished.

The foot rest is great. I chose this chair because of the range of motion it has, as I move around a lot at work with a travelling desk so at home I like to do the same between sitting, high sitting, and standing.

This chair provides it all! 🙂 I do not lean back on my chairs much either (because I shift my position frequently!) so the seat helps me to maintain good posture, no matter what height I am at! The chair does not have wheels, but slides really well across my mat, and being up higher, wheels would be a danger with how much I transfer, shift, and lean.

Great stool! I was under the impression it was for kids, but its seat size can hold any size. I gave it a 4 because I bought it for my kids, but it is so strong, they cant get it to slide back down once they pull the lever to go up.

They are just too light weight. So I have to sit on it and pull the lever to get the seat to go back down to their size. Other than that-it is durable, the seat raises pretty high for different heights of tables, counters, etc.

360 rotation is very smooth and spins fast (if you were to spin in it-fun factors). Possibly good for workplaces that need rotation in small spaces to reach things. I consider this a teenage or adult stool.

My kids love it too, but Id prefer if they could adjust the height on it themselves.

I cannot be any happier with my purchase! This chair comes with all the tools you need to put it together, and it is ridiculously easy to put together (which truly says a lot coming from someone like me because I am not known for my handyman skills, let me tell you).

I got the burgundy mesh color, which I think is a cool and unique color for an office chair and goes really well with my dark wood desk. The chair is super comfortable and supportive, allowing me to work from home for hours on end in this quarantine situation that, in all likelihood, will probably last for at least another month where I am.

I love the flip armrest feature because I can either fully tuck myself into my desk by doing away with the armrests, which is good for when I’m typing, or I can use the armrests if I want to lay back a little and lounge.

Because I live in a tiny Manhattan apartment where my working office area is essentially a part of my living room and space is an issue, it’s great that I can just flip the armrests up so that I can tuck the chair as far into the desk as possible creating more space (which I realize seems sad that I need that little bit of extra space but, hey, that’s NYC for ya.

). And lastly, I didn’t even realize that it came with two sets of wheels – the standard office chair wheels which are fine, and also these amazingly sleek roller blade wheels that are perfect for my hardwood floors and silent enough that I’m sure my landlord on the floor right below me doesn’t hear a thing! Awesome office chair and value for the price.

I really wanted to like this chair, but after a week, I’m realizing I’m starting to get deep bruises on the side of my hips because the seat is really quite narrow. I checked the measurements before ordering and the 19.

1 in hip width that is stated is functionally not accurate. That’s the width of the total seat area, but the fabric is stretched over thick hard plastic frames that reduce the actual *comfortable* area to 16.

5 in. I’m pretty average in size in height and weight (well within the recommended dimensions), but that is just too narrow and sitting on the thing all day, the hard plastic is digging in below my hips.

My 50 dollar Ikea chair went a year of daily use and I never had issues like this. I’m now wondering how long I’ll want to continue using this chair, and it’s been less than a month. It’s a shame because the back and arm rests are fantastic.

A quality chair for a very reasonable price! I have been on the hunt for an ergonomic chair that is equal parts comfortable, functional, and affordable – this one fits the bill. After using it for a couple of weeks, here are some of my takeaways: + Assembly couldn’t be more simple + Two sets of casters to choose from (standard and rollerblade wheels) + Quality materials and design – solid as a rock + The mesh back and seat find a nice blend between breathability, comfort, and support + Tilt angle can be locked in place + The arm rests are super comfortable and they flip up! (Big selling point for me since I am a musician and need to be able to move the armrests when recording bass/guitar) + Aesthetically pleasing as well — good color options – The maximum reclining angle is a bit shallow – The padding in the seat that makes contact with the thighs takes a little breaking in and getting used to – Lumbar support isn’t adjustable (although that hasn’t been a problem for me) – The chair sits quite high with the rollerblade wheels — may be an issue for shorter users Most of these “cons” are more like quirks that will have varying impact on usage depending on body type and size.

I’m 6’1″ and 180lbs, which feels appropriate for this chair — if I were three inches taller or wider, I’m not sure I’d find it as comfortable or supportive. I spend a lot of time at the computer and have tried a variety of different chairs.

To-date, this one is my favorite. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quality ergochair that doesn’t break the bank!.

This is the very best chair that I’ve bought! I have had 3 home office chairs over the past 5 years and they cost as much as this chair, but they have all failed! It’s mainly the castors break the plastic support legs.

This chair has metal support legs that are extremely strong and should never break. The chair is very comfortable and should outlast my last 3 chairs combined and more! This is absolutely the very best most comfortable office chair that I have ever owned!.

So far this is been a good chair. Usually after a week or so chairs that I sit in start to squeak and creak. So far this one is not doing it oh, and that is very nice. I will update if in the near future if this chair starts making a lot of noise.

So far I highly recommend.

I was really disappointed that the plastic sleeve packaging was stuck to the metal arms of the chair and it etched the metal and there were rust spots on it, otherwise, it’s a lovely chair. I made a request to see if they can send me new chair arms so I don’t have to load up the giant box with everything and send it back.

There is about a week wait for customer service response. so there is also that. I has now been twelve days and I have not heard back from customer service I contacted them on 6-17, its now 6-29.

I do love this chair— the metal had some scuffs on it, but this is one of the best looking white leather desk chairs. It’s super comfy too.

Not only did my Felix-King chair arrive within days, it was well-packaged. Super-easy to assemble and make personalized adjustments for personalized comfort. Chair is lighter in weight than most. I also based my purcase on the fact that I could push back the chair arms, allowing me to push the chair in under my work table at the end of the day.

Also, being able to move the arms up and out of the way allows me to work on sewing projects and other special projects unimpeded. Since I have back discomfort issues, being able to move the arms up may allow me to access any special support (walker) that I may need in the future.

As a number of people pointed out, if you are petite you may find the chair more comfortable than most, which I do. Customer service is very attentive and reaches out to you in a timely manner with any questions or concerns you may have, I like that a warranty is included.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleI have been searching for an office chair ever since I started working from home last year. I had simple requirements: I needed the chair to be comfortable enough when sitting for 8-10 hours a day and I wanted lumbar support adjustment and head rest.

I tried several chairs over the last year in the $200-400 price range, but none of them worked out well. Some hurt my back, some were not high enough in terms of height, some had unstable headrest and the lumbar support in some of them were not good enough.

After 30 days of using this chair, I can confidently say that I have found the ideal chair for me. The lifting backrest is amazing for lumbar support adjustment. The head rest is positioned nicely protruding outside that my head is on a natural resting position.

The arm rest height adjustment is also a great bonus. The mesh design makes it comfortable for long hours of work.

My wife purchased this Serta Manager’s Office Chair about 2 years ago for her home office. Since she only uses it rarely, and my old office/task chair’s arms were coming off, she said to go ahead and used the Serta as my office chair.

I am a software developer who needs to be able to sit for 8+hours (even taking 15 minute stretch breaks every 2 hrs). For about the first two weeks I used the chair, it seemed good. But somewhere after about a month or two of regular daily use, I began to feel pain in my neck and lower back.

For almost a year now I have been trying different things to make the chair comfortable again including using bunched up pillows with a bottle of water as lumbar support. I even bought one of the fancy “Purple” brand seat cushions, and it helps, but I have to keep repositioning it pretty much every 15 minutes.

Very annoying to say the least. My chair is also coming apart similar to the photos the OP showed. But, in all fairness, we do have cats and they like to scratch everything so who knows if that is the cause.

Still, we have 9 cats and they all love to scratch our vinyl/pleather-covered couches and the couches don’t fall apart like the chair arm cushions are. A better option may be a Herman Miller. But, in the meantime, if you would like to use the to get by, unless you don’t care about throwing good money away, I would advise against this chair, ESPECIALLY for web developers, programmers, coders, software engineers, etc.

Anyone who is going to sit all day should probably avoid this chair. Some might characterize this unit by saying “this chair is a worthless, poorly-made piece of garbage. Save your money”. However, in fairness, I think this chair will probably last you a long time if you don’t use it very much.

You might not have anything bad to say about it if you are petite (because the cushions won’t compress as much) or only use it as prop. For instance, those using this to stage real estate properties might find this chair a great value.

I am not sure if the problem is just this chair, or if the quality of these “types” of chair have gone down over time. All I know if this chair is literally causing my body damage and pain. I am looking forward to buying a Herman Miller Embody or possibly a Duramont Ergonomic.

They seem to have pretty good ratings for coders like me.

I have been eying this chair for over a year now. I bought other ones and they killed my neck and back. all adjustable height levels work great for my different work spaces, one them being a a lifetime 4 foot adjustable heigh folding table, 8 foot banquet table and a normal desk.

My neck feels supported when I lean back, my back as well, sufficient cushion on my bottom, no sinking in 170 pound woman and husband is 235. Bottom not hard, but I like that it doesn’t smoosh down when I sit and angle doesn’t apply pressure to my tail bone.

This seems to be the issue with so many chairs after sitting for one hours. Happy I finally decided to pay more for a better quality chair. I would recommend this to anyone. Of course always backed by Same Club satisfaction guarantee.

Bought this chair a few months ago and I’ve been using it every day since the purchase for 4-8 hours per day. It’s holding up well, it’s comfortable, and the quality seems good for the cost. I have only one complaint: There is an adjustable metal pin in the undercarriage of the chair that controls whether or not the chair pivots forward and back, or remains stationary fixed upright.

I prefer my chair to have a stationary back, so I keep the pin pushed all the way in to lock the back of the chair in position. This pin tends to slide out often, on its own, into the position that allows the back to pivot.

As a result, the chair back “gives way” with a pop, and the back of the chair starts to pivots with no warning. When it happens, your first instinct is that you’re going to fall over backward, which is nerve-wracking.

I am happy with it except for two things: 1. On delivery, there was/is some sort of rust/stain marks on three different areas around the shiny frame of the chair itself (not arms). I could not take/polish it off.

2. The leather enclosure zipper (Underneath seating area) was not fully closed. Obvious reason appears to be that the fitment of the leather was too tight/snug around the framed area. I tried forcing it closed but it looked like it was stretching the leather too much and I feared it would rip it at the seams as they seemed over-stretched.

I was also afraid that the zipper itself would break/fail. But the issue now is that the zipper continues to open more and more as the chair gets used. The sitting portion of the chair is somewhat long for my legs which makes it a bit uncomfortable as I cannot tuck my butt all the way back.

I am 5-7 with not overly long legs so this issue may not be a problem for taller/longer-legged people.

This chair is very well made. The base, arms and frame are all metal and the faux leather looks like the real thing. I was very pleasantly surprised by how good the vinyl is. not cheap looking at all.

The chair is also very sturdy and comfortable. Others have commented about the arms being wobbly, but I didn’t experience that issue. My only small complaint is that I feel like the arms could be a little bit wider.

If they weren’t padded, I think they’d be pretty uncomfortable, but with the padding, they’re fine.

This chair is very easy to set up but I felt disappointed at first. It doesn’t fit or tilt back like I expected–but I will work on it. Perhaps it is meant for someone who weighs more than a hundred pounds.

But the longer it sits in my living room the more I like it. It is not a sweet little chair like the picture shows. It is an impressive big chair. Oh, it’s adjustable–but I might just leave it the way it is and incorporate a little step stool next to it.

Because when you sit on it behind your desk you will feel like you are King of the Mountain. (Or Queen). And that red leather and shiny chrome is “Wow”!.
