20 Best Chairs Leather Recliner (2022 Updated)

The recliner overall is a nice recliner. Shoreham Blue was approximately $300. 00 more than some other colors – but be aware it is so dark it looks black. It is not like the picture in color at all. That is my only negative on this chair.

The chair is comfortable, easy to assemble and will meet your needs for a smaller space. The only reason I would not recommend this recliner would be for the color not because I had anything really negative to say about the recliner.

Note too the recliner’s seat cushion does not remove and I think in time this leather (although very nice now) will not be a long term durable leather. This is the type of leather that will peel and crack in time.

This is a lovely piece of furniture. It functions best for us as a chair, as the reclining function is lacking. It is difficult to sit with feet elevated as the chair has a tendency to slide on its own to a full reclining as if for sleep position.

Another issue is the depth of the seat cushion: normal-sized women will find it necessary to keep a back cushion on the chair to allow sitting far enough forward to the front edge of the chair for feet to touch the floor.

An added back cushion is also a necessity if you expect to sit semi-upright with feet elevated as if to watch tv or read. As a gorgeous piece of furniture, this barcalounger excels. As a plush, comfy recliner you could live in, not so much.

This Barcalounger recliner is nice looking. That’s about the best I can say. The push back is hard at times. It doesn’t stop recliner where you want it to. It leans very far back when in the upright position so I need to put a pillow behind my head to support my neck.

I bought two of these and probably will try to get rid of them in order to buy a Hooker recliner. Have had several in the past and loved them. Thought I would try a different make cause I liked the contemporary look of this chair.

After trying a couple of chairs in stores, I couldn’t find anything I liked. I was very apprehensive to buy furniture on line sight unseen. Boy was I surprised, chair arrived in no time and it is beautiful! Stunning leather, great color and customer service is outstanding! Highly recommend!.

I wouldn’t recommend this at over $900. The chair looks good, color is nice, but for the price I was expecting better quality. The arms are flimsy and wiggle enough for me to feel like we shouldn’t sit in it very often.

The swivel chair is pretty nice, however I wish it had a little more cushion on the seat. I love the swivel @ the stool but to be honest it doesn’t look as high end as the photo. I purchased a genuine leather sofa & the swivel chair to go with it.

When I compare the two, I can tell the bonded leather on the swivel chair is not as nice as my genuine leather sofa. The chair is not bad for the price but a Little disappointed. If I didn’t have two different types of leather in the same room then maybe I’d feel differently about the look of the leather.

Beautiful, comfortable and great support for lower back. I love this chair. It was only about 1/2to 1/3 the cost of similar chairs.

This is not leather! Another Made in China deception/lie. It’s not the main seating in the living room and will hardly ever be used. That’s a good thing since the ‘pleather” is very thin and I’m sure won’t last long.

I recently purchased a brand-new leather high back executive office chair for $200 less than this and the quality is far superior to this chair, and it is genuine leather! The seat is also very shallow and I’m only 5’10 190lbs.

This chair would be very uncomfortable for anyone larger!.

The chair appears to be well built and of good workmanship. However, it is uncomfortable for me. My purpose was to buy a reading chair where I could sit for extended times and simply read. The chair back does not sit fully upright and the seat slops heavily to the back, much like an Adirondack chair.

It may be a great chair to lean back and take a nap but as a sitting and reading chair, it is not comfortable at all, at least for me. I bought this online so I did not have the opportunity to sit in it before purchasing.

If you’re looking for a lounge chair for a younger adult, this may be a good choice. If you’re looking for a nice, comfortable upright chair, this may not be the best choice for you.

It was a perfect fit for the corner in my bedroom. Its really built for a smaller/shorter adult. Anyone close too or over 6ft should not purchase it. However, its comfortable and functional. Its perfect for small space.

Buyer, beware! This product is not defective in any way. except functionally. The biggest issue is that there is only a single mechanism for both functions: reclining the back, and raising the foot rest, and only a single recline position available.

Upright, the back is at a comfortable slant. But if you also want to put your feet up, activating the single mechanism causes the back rest to move into an almost-horizontal position, making it impossible to see a TV across the room because your eyesight is directed at the ceiling.

Trying to look at a TV requires some kind of rear prop, or you will strain your upper back and neck. There was nothing in the product information on the Houzz website to let you know that the back rest and foot rest could not be operated separately, so I can’t say that it was “True to Description”; there was no description.

I also doubt that it is made of real leather, since it is perfectly smooth and shiny, and apparently bonded to a backing. Not really surprised at that, considering the price. Caveat Emptor!.

The chair is really attractive and appears well-made. On a world of gray colors, the orange really makes a statement. The color is burnt orange so it’s not like a neon color. It’s sturdy and comfortable, even for my 200+ pound ihusband.

When fully reclined, it’s almost completely horizontal, so I could sleep in it. I’ve seen comments that the spring is strong, and that’s true, especially when fully reclined. I expect it to relax a bit with time, but even shifting my weight back a little keeps it reclined.

Pros: It has a very solid, firm seat. The fabric is attractive (not sure why the leather one shows up here) and tough (my cat has not been able to nick it). It has a very deep seat, which makes it great for tall people or people with long legs (we are both).

Ideal small size for a small space. Cons: Does not offer head support, especially when reclined. It only has upright or reclined positions; there is no “feet up only” position (recliners that do that are known as infinity recliners).

The deep seat, so probably not as good for short people. The arms are not generous; they are narrow and minimally padded. Summary: For just over $200. 00, this is a perfectly fine and attractive recliner for a small space and modern decor.

It is basic, however. If you want more functionality in reclining or a larger, more plush “fit,” then buy a more expensive chair. This is a good value. If you want more, spend more.

I purchased two chairs. Putting them together took 15 minutes by myself. I put one star because they smell terrible. They have a terrible fishy odor that isn’t going away. Also, they remind me of a hospital chair or a chair in a waiting room.

Not the look I want in my house. Will be returning ASAP.

Great little chair! Assembly was literally the easiest thing in the world. I was done in under 5 minutes and I didn’t need another person like the instructions suggest. The chair itself is nice for the price.

It’s on the smaller side but that’s what I wanted. When reclined I have to slouch down a bit in order to lean my head against the back, but I knew that going in so it’s not a problem. Reclining mechanism is easy to use and everything feels solid.

My only complaint is that there is only two positions. fully reclined or not at all. I wish I could adjust the back up a little when I don’t want to be reclined all the way but that’s not an option. I can still sit up and comfortably watch tv when reclined so it’s not a huge problem.

I really like this chair. We bought 2 of them for our living room and wanted something that looked a bit more formal than the overstuffed kind. These definitely fit the bill! Easy to put together. Instructions said to allow 30 minutes for assembly, but we did it in about 5 minutes per chair.

They are comfortable and really soft “leather. ” They are a bit stiff to push back to recline at first, but I think they will get easier with time. They recline to many positions–just the footrest up, lay all the way flat (like sleeping position flat–need to push back a little to keep it lying flat), or anywhere in between that is comfortable for you.

The back is a bit short for a tall person–my husband is 6 feet tall–but you can slide down a bit once reclined to rest your head. They wouldn’t be the most comfortable for hours of TV viewing or something, but for an occasional chair in a living area, they are just what we were looking for.

And the price was amazing!!.

Love this recliner!! Purchased for husband to have his man chair and was worried it would be on the small side. But it is not! Its comfortable, only took minutes to set up (screw on legs & pop on the back portiom to the seat) and looks super stylish and modern.

I have a feeling I will buy another as we grow the furniture of our house. Purchased black leather and I had my eye on this chair for months. With black friday deals, target promoms etc it was VERY affordable.

Looks more expensive then it was and goes well into small living room space. It doesnt have a tall neck rest on it but to support your head you just slide down in the chair a bit and problem solved.

Good chair for the price! We use ours for reading by the fire. I like the fact that it is smaller than average so it doesn’t consume floor space. If you are shorter know that they seat is deep so if your legs may not fit.

We added a decorative pillow which solves that. If you are taller head support is lacking due to the square, short back. Slouch or add a pillow? Not a big deal but you probably don’t want to sleep on it.

I find it comfortable for a few hours reading. The chair has three positions: upright, fully reclined (almost flat), and in between Assembly is very easy! Screw on the legs and insert the back into the mechanism.

Measurements on the website seems to be disagree depending on where you look. The actual size of the cloth chairs when upright are about: 36h X 27w X 33d.

It is definitely not a massage chair. It vibrates, very loudly. Also, the chair smells terrible and lgave me a headache. It lasted for months. I had to cover it jt to use it. After 8!months, I started feeling the heating elements in the back of the chair.

I had to put pillows on the back just to use it. I’ve had it a year and a half and I’m replacing it and it’s going in the trash. Customer service was good in that they did refund me some of my money because of the terrible smell.

I don’t understand the positive reviews for this ‘massage’ chair.

The chair has a terrible smell that lasted for weeks. So strong that I had to cover the chair just to sit in it or my clothes would smell like the chair. It doesn’t massage, it vibrates, very loudly.

It also only heats on the back only. After only six months, I can feel the lumps and bumps from the vibrating and heating elements and it isn’t comfortable. I am 5’3″ and weigh 115 pounds and only sat in it at night when I watched tv and the faux leather has already cracked.

I had it for a year and it’s already in the trash. I definitely would not recommend and wouldn’t have purchased it if I sat in it first.

I purchased this chair for my grandson for Christmas. He is 15 and only 100 lbs. He dearly loves this chair and sits in it while playing his games. He did not get it until January and has not been rough with it at all nor has anyone else heavy sat in it.

It has already come apart at the seam of the seat which allowed air that I guess was used inside the seat to cushion and I suppose help with the heat or massage or something and so now the seat is flat.

It has a very short warranty and since it was a gift and I bought in November because I have 5 grandkids to buy for but he did not get it to use til January so that means it only lasted a couple of months! For me it was an expensive gift and I never dreamed it would only last 2 months before it came apart and was rendered useless.

Please be aware as I hate for anyone else to have this happen to them. I work too hard for my money to spend $250 on a chair that should certainly not come apart like it did.

With arthritis in my knees, trying to get out of my squishy, swivel, rocker, recliner had become quite perilous. This chair is a sturdy answer to my prayers. I am 5’8” and not what you’d call dainty, and was almost put off by the suggestions that a large person would not be comfortable in it.

I am perfectly comfortable. My only concern is that the recliner will stay put in position #1 with no effort, but the only other options are not reclining at all, or fully reclining, with legs fully raised.

Given all the other positives, However, I will adapt to this, I am sure, and the recliner issue is the only reason it is not a full on 5-star review.

The chairs look nice, but for us they are too small. there is no recline lever and you must manually push back on the back of the chair. it is also too stiff to un-recline. it is completely useless for my wife as she cannot operate the chair.

This doesn’t look like a recliner which makes me happy. It’s comfortable like a recliner which makes my family happy. What more could I ask for? This is great in our living room. The back isn’t super tall, so wouldn’t recommend for people over 6 feet looking to full recline, but if you are looking for style and comfort, this is the chair for your living or bedroom.

I have been looking for a recliner for a while. I prefer leather to faux leather or fabric. I’m not crazy about power recliners, I’m sure they are great but I don’t want to spend that much. The Black Friday sale on these was phenomenal! I wish they were available in white as well.

Will buy again during next sale.

We are returning. We put the legs on and the wood that it screwed into was completely shredded. They’re pretty flimsy and the “leather” was already rubbing off in some places. Also, it doesn’t lean back all the way without tilting back forward.

I took a chance hoping I found a great deal, but unfortunately, you get what you pay for.

Like the size, the fact that is a rocker and I wanted blue leather. Price comparisons and reviews directed me to this choice and no regrets and no issues. A few reviews had noted that getting the foot rest back in position is difficult but I have not found that to be an issue.

I clean it once a month with a leather conditioner to keep the leather in great condition.

I purchased two of this chair while on sale for $208. The first one came and I assembled easily. It is solid and comfortable. Reclines smoothly and “lays back fully” without issues. I did tweak the springs via the wingnuts on the buttom to remove some resistance and I’m happy with it.

Keeping this chair. The 2nd one came a few days later and I assembled it and when reclining in it the left side “hit” before the right side. it was clearly lopsided and misaligned somewhere internally.

I flipped the chair over hoping I could tweak a screw or something but no luck. The base itself was mounted and built “off”. This was annoying because the first chair is “perfect”. I returned this one via a local Target store and have ordered a replacement.

Hoping the junky one is a fluke and I get a good second chair from the new order. Overall I really like the chair I described without issues. It looks nice. Easy to build; feels solid for the money. At the end of the day this is CHEAP furniture so I don’t expect to last for ever.

If you don’t jump in it or try to break it, I think it’ll last 3-5 years before the pleather starts flaking. If you’re after nice looking chairs for a study or not-to-common sitting area these would likely last for yeeeears.

I saw one reviewer said the back was hard to put on, and it is a little bit but it’s supposed to be tight so it doesn’t “slide off”. Put the back on from behind the chair by separating the “back mounts” and guiding them on via the lip a little at a time.

Once you have each side caught you can push down and “hammer with your fist”. This may be harder for someone elderly or with back issues, in which case, get some help but it’s doable for average adult.

I bought this chair for less than $230. I liked it enough that I wanted to buy another, but now it’s priced at more than $352. While it looks nice and was better made than I expected, it’s just not worth the current price.

I would have paid maybe 25% more, possibly 30%–maybe up to $300 because I really wanted to have a pair around the fireplace, but $352 is just too much for this chair. A price jump of $130 in so little time is just wrong, Target.

Bad: Had to return, chair is small. You sit very high on it. Arm rest awkwardly very low compared to seat bottom. When recline it feels like examination table – almost table like flatness. Seat depth very shallow and back oddly erect – my wife laughed out loud at me when I sat on it.

Good: over-all quality appears nice, and it assembled easily wo tools. For most, I dont think you will like – we paid $645 for it & it is costing us $133 in shipping to return. I know you like the way it looks on line – but trust me – go to a store and sit in it before you buy on line.

Beautiful, comfortable, high quality recliner. I purchased the recliner and matching loveseat for our small living room. They fit perfectly. The camel color is exactly what I was looking for. Delivery and set up was super easy.

I have waited a long time for a recliner that didn’t look like Grandpas. I also wanted one with out Dimethylformamide (DMF) poison on it. Also on my want list was for it to be top grain leather with the caramel color.

It is absolutely beautiful. It’s perfect for my husband who is 6ft tall and it works for me too (5’3). The cushions are not detachable. They are thick and plush not too stiff and not to soft. The leather is soft and supple as top grain leather should feel.

I called the company who makes it to ask some of my concerns and they were very helpful. This is the first time I use Hayneedle and they have been quick to deliver. No problems.

We bought two of these recliners that match the reclining couch we also bought. When we ordered them we had to wait about 6 weeks. After they were delivered bout two weeks later we noticed the one recliner started to make a banging noise when we would lower the leg stool.

We called Big Lots and talked to Dan in Furniture and he said that we should exchange it for another new one, but we would have to pay to have the new one delivered and the old one picked to return to the store.

This recliner is a nice size even for a bigger person to sit in and relax and feel comfortable. It’s great to have with children because all you do is wipe it with a cloth dampened with water and it’s as good as new should they have a slight spill.

I would recommend this recliner and it’s sofa to anyone looking for comfortable seating. Also great quality.

Not sure why we received a used condition chair when we purchased a new one. The deliver box as taped up on the outside. I had to call and wait a long time before anyone would pick up on the customer service line.

The wait on the phone increase from 21 minute to 29 minutes after waiting for about 7 minutes. It’s not fair to complete rate the chair although waiting for a long time before someone answered the phone is disturbing.

Nice people in the store to handle your purchase although I wish someone would follow through to the end. Rather disappointed that someone would actually deliver used chair after purchase a new one. A used box would pass even if everything was new inside the box.

I am pleased with the purchase decision. It is a narrower recliner and sits fairly high which makes it easier to get in and out of. I would have liked it more if the foot rest was longer, so my feet would rest fully on it.

The recliner arms support you when needing them in order to stand. The push button mechanism is more toward the back of the chair so you don’t have to lean forward in order to manipulate the position.

It moves smoothly and quietly. It is leather and can feel cool; so, I will be purchasing a fabric cover. I will also be purchasing a backup battery. I was disappointed the store did not carry these in stock.

Nor was the salesperson able to suggest any help other than buy one off Amazon. No product information came with the recliner; therefore, I will have to have someone look at the chair and electrical connection and then search on Amazon for what they think will work.

I’ve heard too many stories of people being unable to get out of their recliner because the power has gone out. They have had to call for assistance or wait in frustration for the power to return. I rate it a 4 stars – the footrest should be longer and a backup battery should be available in store for purchase.

I would purchase it again with the knowledge I would need to purchase a backup battery.

This chair was a gift for my husband. Unfortunately, it was ordered in November as a Christmas gift, but delivery had to be delayed. It was delivered on Wednesday, February 24. He was so excited. He loves it.

It is extremely comfortable. At first, he wasn’t sure he wanted a leather chair, but he has certainly changed his mind. He feels it is more comfortable than fabric ones he has had in the past. Loves the turbo lift too.
