My daughter loved this chalk. We used it outside to draw and be creative. The color selection is awesome and the chalk goes on the ground smooth and lasts for some time. I love that Crayola is a brand I can rely on for quality and Hallmark had prompt delivery.

I’ve been teaching for 28 years and know my chalk. Sargent chalk used to be made in France and it was vibrant on the board, easy to erase and easy to write with. This sargent chalk is made in Korea and is pretty good but it is a little bit too hard resulting in a less vibrant mark on the board; a little harder to write with but is easy to erase.

Question to Blick: can you still get the Sargent chalk made in France? I have an old box that is incredible. The Korean version is better than anything else I’ve been able to find, but not like the original.

Writes smoothly and erases completely with little dust. Unfortunately, many of the sticks were broken when they arrived.

This chalk works really good. My boyfriend and I got a chalk board for free from someone and this is the chalk it came with. I mean it’s fine I just hate how it gets all over you lol but I think that all chalk pretty much does that.

My crayola white chalk is a true and tried product that has tested time. The quality is and always has been outstanding and still is. My homemade gift I gave my adult girls for Christmas required chalk and I knew I would not be purchasing anything different then this product.

Colored chalk is getting harder to find as more schools move to whiteboards. I like using chalk, as I draw a great many diagrams and illustrations that don’t work as well on whiteboard. Plus it doesn’t smell.

This product works okay, but the formulation of the chalk itself is not as dense as it used to be, or as dense as the similar product I used to use. As such it is much more vulnerable to breakage, and I end up with lots of small fragments that are harder to use.

This is also a problem in the outdoors where I also use a small board. The chalk breaks constantly.

Quartet used to make Omega chalk. They have apparently replaced it with Alpha. It is a lighter, lower quality chalk that is harder to erase, wears down more quickly and is more dusty. Note that it is not the worst chalk out there.

There are some brands (Crayola colored chalk) where you might as well write on the board with paint. Paint would erase easier. Definitely a step down. But as long as it is cheaper for Quartet I’m sure they don’t care.

Time to find new chalk. If anyone makes decent products anymore that is.

First of all, chalk, chalkboards, and erasers are becoming one more ‘thing of the past. ‘ There’s still something about teaching kids about chalk. Chalk drawing, even having chalk in one hand and the eraser in the other is great fun.

These are soooo Amazing. Basically no Dust. Vibrant Colors. Great Selection of Colors. I keep them like my ‘Homeschool-Jewels’’. I was never someone who was naturally into drawing, though loving Art a lot.

The colors included in this chalk package are full bodied and they hold well on the board. They mix well too. Wouldn’t mind a black color though. They seem to last a long time, even with my kids using them.

We’ve used two batches in two years.

We are in love with this blackboard chalk! The colors are superb, so bright, and lovely! I think I’m enjoying drawing with these more than my child! They are very smooth on the chalkboard and are very easy to use, even for a young child.

My toddler tore off all the wax paper around the chalk pieces, so they are quite messy now, but nothing a hand wash can’t fix. Will definitely continue to purchase these!.

Easy item to purchase for a 3 yr old who likes to draw, especially outside areas or at a park. Item is simple to use, and variety of colors is way cool for the little ones. Allows the children to be creative and inspires learning.

Having a chalk holder device is really needed to prevent breakage. Cleanup is a breeze from surface and children’s hands. Encourages other to joining in on the fun.

This are very sturdy, smooth to the touch, and the colors are very vibrant. They were well packaged and the product arrived quickly. They write well, and don’t break easily. But my kids do see breaking chalk as a challenge so it definitely has happened.

The chalk lasts roughly 1/3 as long as the old chalk, writes much more choppily, and is in general less comfortable to hold. I used to recommend this chalk to anyone who asked — now I’ll recommend they avoid it.

I’ve been purchasing this product for over five years for chalk art and typically found it to be very workable and very pigmented. The past few boxes I’ve purchased have been very disappointing in terms of color.

The black chalk is no longer black, but coated gray and many of the colors (red particularly) are much less vibrant and read more like sidewalk chalk. Please consider bringing back the old formula!.

I have an old big blackboard which I keep my daily schedules on using a different colored chalk each day. I am thrilled with this big box of so many glorious colors. The last small box I bought was inferior chalk that went so quickly.
