20 Best Charcoal Air Purifiers (2022 Updated)

As an allergy sufferer living in a high-allergen part of the country and with a new kitten at home, I am keen to keep my indoor air as clean as possible. I began exploring air purifiers mid-pandemic, when the added benefit of capturing airborne viruses tipped the scales in favor of giving air purifiers a try.

Having used two highly-rated models for a year now, I was curious to see this new product from Instant brands. I recently moved to a larger apartment and was in search of another purifier. The Instant AP300 attracted me with a streamlined design, powerful AHAM air cleaning rating and real-time air cleanliness display.

I appreciate that Instant offers three similar machines in different sizes to suit different rooms and cleaning needs. The AP300 feels relatively well-constructed, with an all-plastic body and shiny touch-sensitive top control panel.

I feel the “charcoal” color is a lot sleeker than the “pearl” color, but that’s more a personal preference than anything. The charcoal color has the added benefit of better concealing the air intake grille holes, which are much more obvious on the pearl color.

Setup was dead-simple: twist open the bottom of the unit, unwrap the round filter, put it back in the unit and twist the bottom closed. When you plug in and power up the AP300 it defaults to Auto mode, measuring the indoor air quality for 30 seconds before giving you a cleanliness readout and selecting a speed based on the particle count it measures.

Every time I’ve done this, I find my indoor air quality to be 97-98% or better. The AP300 also uses an LED ring underneath the control panel to show you air cleanliness from a distance, giving the unit a high-tech appearance.

You can manually override the automatic settings and adjust the fan speed yourself, which I found myself doing regularly. After running in Auto mode and detecting clean air for a period of time the AP300 will go into a ultra low speed Eco mode, moving very little air unless a wave of pollutants are detected.

While this saves energy and makes very little noise, it also allows dust and dander to settle on surfaces rather than be sucked into the filter; I follow the recommendation of many professional testers, which is to run the unit continuously on medium.

Over the course of a week alternating between the Auto setting and the medium fan setting the AP300 never registered lower than a 97. 5% air quality rating, even after turning the unit off for a night and then restarting it the next morning.

I’m pleased that my indoor air quality appears to remain high at all times, although this does bring into question whether I even need a purifier in my space. While the AP300 did a solid job of maintaining my high air quality on all settings, I was disappointed in the amount and tone of noise it makes, even on the low setting.

In addition to the expected sound of air moving that all purifiers will make, the AP300 introduced a constant whirring/rattling sound on low and medium fan speeds, as well as an electric motor whine.

The highest fan speed drowned out those noises with the rush of air but was far too loud to use except when needing to rapidly clear the air, such as if the room were to fill with smoke or dust. Additionally, one of the marquee features of the AP300 — automatic night mode — did not work on my unit.

The AP300 is supposed to detect light levels and automatically turn off its lights and enter a low fan speed mode in the dark so as not to bug you while you’re sleeping. Despite repeated tests, I could not get this feature to work, although I was able to manually cycle through four light levels.

I had hoped to use the AP300 in my bedroom, but the annoying fan noises and ineffective night mode rendered the AP300 unsuited for this use. While it does clean the air as advertised, these little annoyances should not be present on a purifier at this price point.

Comparing it to the similarly-priced, highly-rated purifiers I already own, the AP300 is sleeker in appearance, but much noisier/more annoying in operation. It also demands filter replacements every 6-8 months, versus yearly with my other units, and the proprietary Instant-branded filters don’t come cheap.

I think the AP300 could really improve in this area by adding a washable/cleanable pre-filter to catch larger dust and debris, preventing these from filling up the HEPA filter and shortening its lifespan.

Overall, the AP300 is slick in appearance and usage (minus Night Mode, at least on my unit), but really let me down in the noise department. I’m sitting underneath an air conditioning unit as I write this and I can still hear the whirring/rattling from the AP300 over the compressor noise.

This, combined with frequent, expensive filter replacements, makes it hard for me to recommend this unit. You can find equally-effective filtration at this price point that won’t annoy you with noises or require a pricy maintenance schedule.

The Instant – Air Purifier, Small Room in black may only service a small room, maybe 144 sq. feet or a 12 x 12 room, but it is mighty. I was asked to request this air purifier in either white or black and I chose black.

This machine is very well packed and it comes very well packed with its filters, all was in good shape to get started. So, in my case I initially have put it on the floor in my kitchen/sunroom area. While it is not that large, it would take up too much real estate, Imo, on a kitchen countertop so I decided to place it on the floor.

I followed the instructions on how to put it together, making sure that I got the filters installed in the right places. Upon setup, I placed it on the automatic mode and for the longest time heard nothing, no sound, nada-did this mean that it was not working or sensing if air purification was needed or a more aggressive cleansing? Well, how wrong was I.

One day my husband was frying food on the gas cooktop on our kitchen’s island and he overheats his fry pan so that when he places the food in the pan to cook all kinds of smoke and odors are emitted.

To my complete surprise, all of a sudden, this small but mighty air purifier senses all these particles in the air and kicks into action revving up the motor to defeat these particles and odors. Now, remember that this machine is on the floor and actually behind an island that is a physical block between the island where the cooktop is.

While on the auto setting, it revved up to what sounded like a high setting and set about neutralizing and eating up the particles that the cooking put into the air. Remember that the model that I have is for a small room and only supposed to support about a 12-foot distance, which this machine was about from the island with the cooktop.

I was impressed that even though the offensive odor was at its maximum distance and physically blocked by the cabinets in the peninsula, it still sensed and engaged to do its job. That is about all that I can say because otherwise it is silent and you wonder if it is working at all, at least when it is on automatic.

I really like that this charcoal bag can be rejuvinated by placing it outside, as the directions indicate. I believe it says to do this every 2 years. or was it one. I have not had it in the bathroom long enough to tell if it is making a difference.

We have a small bathroom that does not have good venilation and sometimes has a sour smell–I am hoping that this will help with that. I am rating it as 4 stars, since I cannot yet tell if it is helping with this smell.

This is genius! I wish I knew about it sooner! This is easy to use and is up high enough out of kids reach. The fact that you can “recharge” it by putting it in the sun is genius! No more hassle of the regular closet dehumidifier containers.

I am using 2 220 gr bags in the bathroom for my stinky cat. I gave my aunt 2 bags for her stinky cat. Things smell better now. And we are using 2 bags in the back hallway. I thought we would only need 1 bag for the rooms but i am glad they were on sale because I miscalculated.

Pros: —Purchased my 211+ Auto directly from Blueair in July 2021 and several months later the control button on top of unit stopped working. It happens – an inconvenience but not a big deal. Contacted Blue Air and a replacement unit was shipped out to me and I returned the original unit at no cost to me.

Kudos to Blue Air folks for honoring their warranty and replacing my faulty unit promptly! —Love the fact that Blueair offers a “First responders” and “Military personnel” discount – much appreciated! —The 211+ Auto moves a lot of air on the second speed without too much white noise which is what I was looking for in an air purifier! The unit sucks in air from all four sides of the machine and sends air out of the top of the machine – nice.

—This unit was recommended by Consumer Reports as was the 211+. However, the Auto version is more energy efficient and has a sensor with an “Auto” speed setting which are the primary reasons I chose it over the 211+.

Cons: —The prefilter skirt does not hold up very well. After weekly vacuuming and washing it every few months the stitching comes loose. I have purchased two OEM replacements during the past year and I recommend having a spare on hand for when needed.

—The OEM filter that came with my first unit was great. I cranked the air purifier up and the air coming out of the top of the unit smelled fresh and clean. Unfortunately, the OEM filter that came with my replacement unit had a sour smell that lasted about 2-3 weeks before it dissipated.

I had hoped that was just a one off situation. However, the brand new OEM filter that I recently installed also has that same sour smell (it is hard to forget). My unit has been running 24/7 for almost a week so I am thinking that I am going to need to wait another week like the last time before the sour smell subsides.

I find it ironic that OEM filters that are supposed to improve air quality by reducing air particles and odors actually created bad odors during the initial weeks of use in my case. I have thought about trying a third party compatible filter but I read that will void my warranty and I suspect that the filter specs would be different from a third party supplier anyway.

There is a lot to like about this machine but I hate to think that I may need to repeat this process when I install a new Blueair OEM filter. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this otherwise excellent air purifier until I am confident that the filter odor issue I experienced with two out of three filters has been resolved.

I have another sealed back-up OEM filter that I purchased and will see how that filter performs when I install it in approximately 6 months. I plan on doing a review update at that time.

I bought a 211+ last fall and was so pleased with the performance that I decided to buy a second unit for the family room. Instead I bought a 211+ Auto and the improvement over an already awesome machine in kind of mind-blowing.

The older unit is in the family room in the basement and I put the new 211+Auto in the living room. It’s so so so quiet. But I love the way it kicks in when it senses pollutants/irritants in the air.

If I cook anything that smokes (e. g. , tortillas in a cast iron pan), I can hear the Auto kick into a higher gear until it has cleaned the air sufficiently and lowers the fan automatically. The effectiveness of the filters is good enough that I’ve seen a clear improvement in my allergies and a decrease in my need for extra allergy meds.

Typically in the spring and summer I need to double my allergy meds (2x per day) to keep my asthma under control but I’ve only needed a second dose once or twice this year! I also love the pre-filters.

It’s easy to see when it’s time to change the pre-filter. They’re easy to change, easy to wash, and a great way to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the units. Finally, I appreciate the filter replacement subscription.

It significantly reduces the mental & organizational friction of maintaining the units and keeps my indoor air quality as high as possible year round. When I received my first replacement filter, I thought to myself, meh, it hasn’t been THAT long; maybe I can save some money and squeeze a little more time out of the old filter.

Then I compared the old filter to the new one and the difference between the two made it clear that 1) the filter had worked hard for 6 months, and 2) a new filter would ensure continued good results.

I purchased the Pure 211+Auto about a month ago after researching air purifiers reviews. We live in East Texas, where we have beautiful spring blooms, but horrible pollen problems almost year round, especially in the spring.

Since using Blueair Pure+Auto, our allergies are significantly reduced this spring. I particularly like that this model automatically adjusts to the amount of particulate matter in the air. When I initially set it up and turned it on, it ran on a more robust speed with the yellow indicator showing, but since then it has been on a low quiet setting with the blue indicator on.

The purifier is very quiet; we don’t even notice it in the at night during sleep hours. I had bought a purifier years ago, but it wasn’t that efficient and was loud, like a blower dryer on low setting.

Another aspect that I like about this purifier is that it is made for a specific size room, so you’re not buying a model that is over or under the air space capacity that can happen with a “one-size fits all” purifier.

So glad I purchased this purifier.

I have 2 of these in my small bedroom, and 5 more of these throughout my small one-bedroom apartment. These have worked perfectly to help filter out pathogens like viruses, dust, and germs. I breathe a lot better, too.

Because I have so many in my small apartment, I turn off the Plasmawave feature for most, so as not to create too much ozone in my apartment. I typically have these running all the time, with 3 out of 4 on the fan level.

I follow the instructions on how to clean the prefilter and carbon filter. I replace the filters about once every 6 to 9 months, especially after a brutal wildfire season. I have these going at full blast whenever I have any visitors in my apartment, or whenever I’m doing a lot of in-and-out of my apartment for tasks such as getting packages from the mailroom and retrieving door deliveries.

So far, these have kept me virus-free for the past few years. (I must also say that I mask everywhere I go, I allow fresh air inside when others enter my apartment, and I require mask wearing for anyone who enters my apartment, which are layered approaches to helping me reduce viral risk, in addition to using the air purifiers.

I’m disabled, so I spend most of my time home alone, too. But I feel more secure with having these air purifiers aid in keeping my air clean. ) Also, I still have to dust and clean the baseboards, but not as frequently.

The replacement filters are less expensive than some other air purifiers I’ve had in the past. And the design of these blends in with most decorations. To keep them mobile on hard flooring, I’ve purchased 16″ rolling plant stands to place 5 out of my 7 air purifiers on, so that I can easily sweep and mop around them, while keeping them slightly off the ground.

My 2 bedroom purifiers sit directly on the carpeting, one that purifies the bedroom area, and the other that faces the door to my walk-in closet, for added coverage. I would highly recommend these purifiers! I’ve had most of mine for about 2 years now, and they work great!.

Seems like it’s working, mostly. I’ve been using it for several weeks and do not use the ion technology. What’s good: I like that you have to option to NOT use the ion technology. There are some brands that don’t have it at all and some that have it but you can’t turn it off.

The filter types and quality are good on this model, there is a washable carbon filter that extends the life of the filter and the required filter changes happen less often than some other brands and need to.

Some need to be changed every 3 months. Although these filters are a little pricy, they not as expensive as many others, and not changed as often so I opted to go with this Winix. My allergies are better-not 100% but I do leave the window open a bit.

It’s quiet. I can say it’s gotten a bit louder in the last few weeks but still quiet and doesn’t disturb my sleep at all. It detects/goes red if I spray alcohol or lysol even in the next room with the door closed.

The not so good: I’ve used ammonia and bleach near it and it didn’t detect it at all. I’ve put it near the kitchen while cooking and sometimes it detects things and sometimes it doesn’t and some odors can linger longer than I thought they should (onions) but the odors do seem to go away.

Since this is my first air purifier, I don’t have anything to compare it to but I can say that it does help, but it’s not as dramatic a change as I thought it would be.

This appears to be cutting edge when it comes to air purifiers. I bought it because I like the fact they had a washable carbon filter. I was disappointed it didn’t come in anything but black but I’ll survive it.

However it is so much complicated being a smart device and I have yet to figure out how to make it become part of my smart network of many devices, which may be part of the problem I have over 20 devices in my smart Network.

. It operates sufficiently, I guess, and anything that would be relevant. I’ve yet to notice anything that’s significantly wonderful and nothing that is a problem. I like the size, and again I can’t impress is very quiet and I like that.

And it does look pretty sleek and design if someone’s into that. But I recommend it – probably. It definitely appears to have far more bells and whistle’s. The color is black I would rather had something else Although it is growing on me.

And I wish I could get on the smart network. UPDATE this thing has never stayed on and keeps shutting itself off. It’s too late to request a replacement so I’m taking a pretty big ‘hit’ to my wallet on this one.

I purchased the MA-112 Air Purifier originally in July of 2021 from a third-party website. The unit was doing an excellent job of cleaning the air of small particulate matter in my home, but, unfortunately, it was making a high-pitched, squeaking sound during operation.

I notified MedifyAir customer support, the response time and performance of which I was extremely impressed with! Upon my provision of invoice from previous purchase and audio/video evidence of the problem, MedifyAir immediately replaced my unit with a new one free of charge! They didn’t even demand return of the originally purchased product.

The MA-112 runs smoothly, quietly and has done such a fine job of cleaning the air in my home, that my chronic cough of 5 years has almost entirely resolved since purchase of the machine! The MA-112 is an extremely sophisticated model! It has four different intensities/speeds of operation, an ionizer activation option, and a very accurate electronic indicator of need for filter replacement! It has been such a pleasure doing business with MedifyAir, and I will be returning to make arrangements for future filter replacements.

Bought this air purifier to help with car fumes and cigarette smoke from neighbors down below. Before this one we had FIVE air purifiers in our unit and they were $300 plus to purchase and the filters are $60 every 3 months.

They couldn’t keep up with the smells. We were at our wits end. Then I came across Medify and who would’ve have know it would turn out to be one of the best days of my entire life!!! My husband said do you think it’ll work and I said if it doesn’t…nothing will.

Delivery day came and I drug this behemoth up 3 flights of stairs step by step because I couldn’t wait to try it out. Within minutes it started working. Used all the features and we couldn’t be happier!! Not only did it clean the air in the living room, it did the kitchen, the bathroom and the bedroom and it just keeps amazing us every day! I have been able to turn off the other 5 air purifiers!! I was a little reluctant at first but I did it and I’ll never go back.

This is it, this is the one and only air purifier anyone should ever need. My place is 600 sq ft and this cleans and cleans and cleans! Even my cats don’t mind it. It isn’t loud like the others I’ve owned.

If you are looking at this model, then there is a reason, just buy it, don’t put it off, just do it, you will not regret it. This is the highlight purchase of 2022 and I doubt any other purchase this year will come close to the happiness this has brought us! Goodbye cigarettes…goodbye car fumes…goodbye pollen.

I have had my MA-112 for over a year now. This thing works. It is large, but rolls and still can be tucked against a wall, since it’s air intake is on its sides. On the lowest speed setting, it is very quiet – not silent, but very quiet.

On the second speed, which is what I use when the air is bad (over 100 AQI), it is almost as loud as a box fan on its lowest setting – still very quiet. Now, I am in a wildfire area, with outdoor AQI that can be as high as 500.

When the inside air is, say 150 AQI, I turn this thing on and it clears the air of our whole living/entry/kitchen/dining area in about an hour – down to about 30 or 40 AQI. I use an indoor AQI monitor.

Keeping it running on low, the indoor AQI is maintained anywhere from 15 – 25. It’s a great unit for a large space.

After having bought an older Molekule years ago and being happy with it, we decided to splurge and buy the Air Pro. The unit worked fine at first, but suddenly started showing a “very bad” air reading every single day.

On the “auto protect” function, the unit is as loud as a jet engine in our house. (We live in a brand new gut renovated house with new HVAC, only two people, no smoking, and use natural cleaning products).

After going through months of painful trouble shooting with customer service, countless calls and emails, speaking to a different agent each time, we still haven’t found a solution and I’ve been essentially told I am stuck with the broken unit due to the return policy.

I sincerely hope this does not happen to someone else as it’s very frustrating and expensive. Please consider this review as a warning prior to purchasing a Molekule. I wish I had considered some of the competitors such as Coway AP-1512HH Mighty, Winix 5500-2, Blueair Blue Pure 311 Auto, or the Levoit Core 400S.

And now, according to Molekule, I am simply stuck with a broken unit. Terrible experience! Buyer beware!.

While the core function of cleaning the air appears to work, the software on the unit and the app are only intermittently functioning. More than a few times the unit shows an error on its display that reports “no filter installed!” even though the unit has remained untouched and if I could speak to it, I would assure it that does in fact contain a filter.

I might say “Molekule, look within, look inside yourself. You will find all you need there. ” So that’s frustrating. A second unit, an Air Mini+ will periodically report the air quality to be terrible.

Leaving the unit in automatic results in the unit running at maximum speed and it sounds like an aircraft engine. Needless to say, there is nothing in this bedroom that would produce “terrible” air quality and the other Molekules in the house, including one close to the kitchen that might periodically reasonably detect poor air quality operate merrily along, reporting air quality is “good”.

Improvements in software and app would be great!.

When my family and I first moved into our home, the air felt musky/ dense/ allergy triggers were through the roof! After cleaning the air ducts and changing the furnace filter we thought that would suffice.

unfortunately, that was not enough. We bought cheaper “knockoff” molekules but only noticed a difference for a short period of time (weeks if we were lucky). So my wife and I took a leap faith and purchased a mini molukule for our room.

What a difference! My wife’s allergy triggers miraculously went away after 24 hours of the unit being on continuously. She used to take an antihistamine DAILY for years! Now she might take it once or twice a month? We ended up getting a bigger unit for our living room and our girls’ room as well and it’s made leap and bounds in our household.

The app is intuitive and the “auto” filter replacement option is wonderful because I always forget to change it per manufacturer’s recommendation. It may feel like a steep price but if your allergy triggers are as bad as ours, then it’s all worth it.

I was so excited to receive my Z-2500 with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. With the caveat that Trusens JUST came out with this model i expected possibility there would be an issue. We had difficulty connecting the purifier to our phone app (the UI of the app is beautiful and simple).

It seemed to drop from Bluetooth on both our Android phones. I was able to get it connected on my phone eventually but the next step was connecting to WiFi and it failed. Then it seemed the Bluetooth wouldn’t connect.

After a couple of hours we gave up. We setup the sensor pod/puck about 12 feet from the unit as directed and let it all be. The next day out of curiosity I opened the app and it was showing our unit was connected and I could now control the unit with the app.

But now it was showing the sensor pod was failed. We checked for app updates, there were none. I’ve tried resetting the pod several times but it’s still failed. I called the nice people in Customer Service who stated it’s likely a defective unit and I’ll need to get a replacement.

Sadly, I have no idea when that will happen as I’ve not received an email back. But I’m hopeful if we can get a unit that connects correctly that we will buy a couple more. Also, we aren’t quite sure if the filter included is a True HEPA or not.

I purchased the True HEPA filter a at same time and will exchange once we find out. I’d rather not waste a filter. Overall, the unit seems to work fine. If we receive our replacement quickly I would definitely give this a better rating.

I should start off by saying that I’ve recently had my ducts cleaned (not just vacuumed but practically scrubbed!), and I installed a new HVAC unit with a UV light (which the trusens product also has) – so my air quality was pretty good to begin with.

But I have terrible allergies that lead to sinus infections which lead to bronchial issues that put me out of commission for weeks at a time. I don’t have time to be out sick like this once or twice every year, so I purchased this product to see if it could help.

I started out by putting it in my bedroom. At first it went crazy, like it was a rocket launcher ready to take off! The indicator light which tells you how good your air quality is, never went higher than 50 and then quickly came down to 06.

That means the air quality is pretty darn awesome! Then I made my bed and fluffed up the blanket and the machine went crazy again (it’s a newly purchased hypo-allergenic duvet blanket), but again it never went above 50 and then quickly came down again to 06.

So then I took it to each room. In my daughter’s room it again tried to take off, and got all the way up to 211!! It cleaned her room for a while and then came down to about 10 where it stabilized. Took it to my other daughter’s room where it started out zooming up again (this time got to 99), and then stabilized at 08, until my Mom came it to make the bed.

She had some older hand knitted blankets on the bed, so when she fluffed up the blankets, the trusty trusens went crazy and got over 250, but then came back down again. I share this info with you because I find it sooooooo helpful to know when it’s working and what the air quality is.

When I brought it down to the kitchen, it went crazy when I started cooking with gas and when we blew out birthday candles. Overall, I think this is a fabulous product! I now take it with me when I’m cleaning a room – fluffing pillows, vacuuming, anything that makes the air move.

And it cleans the air while I’m cleaning the room.

DO NOT ORDER. READ ALL REVIEWS FIRST. I just got my purifier but the app won’t open, get white screen. Co. Reply to reviews only tell you to call their no. yet even worst is no support or anyone to help in weekends or any other time.

One would think atleast they would write how to fix issue instead of provide the no. where NO ONE available but pre-recorded mesg. Everything about the app and company is beyond dissapointing except purifierlooks nice modern.

I have awful allergies and I’m supposed to get a weekly allergy shot at the doctors office on top of my two oral medications and two nasal sprays. Air purifiers are a must have for me. I want the Dyson because I have everything else Dyson, but I’m in an apartment for approximately the next two years, so I needed something more suitable.

This was in the top ten on Amazon and had all excellent ratings and I’m glad I went with it. It’s almost silent on the first fan setting / night mode and not bothersome at all on the second fan mode.

It is a bit loud on the third /highest mode , but you really only need to run that if you encounter odors, smoke, etc. so it’s short term. It’s incredibly easy to set up and use and very lightweight if you want to move it around.

It has a special HEPA 3 stage pet allergy filtration filter that does everything from trapping and biologically decomposing household odors to capturing large particles such as dust, lint, fibers, hair, pet fur and pet dander to trapping fine particles such as dust mites, pet dander, mold spores and pollen.

It has features like a timer , pet lock, check filter indicator and display off. I’m very pleased with this purchase and can really tell a difference when I wake up in the morning. I’m definitely not as stuffy and my eyes aren’t swollen.

A lot of the reviews mentioned that because this filter is superior, people without pets we’re choosing this model too. If you’re looking for a purifier for a smaller space, I really recommend this one.

The replacement filters are very reasonably priced and cheaper than the competition too!.

I recently moved into my first apartment, and my neighbors (even though it’s not allowed) would smoke in their apartment. The smell would come through my vents and made EVERYTHING smell smokey. My clothes smelled, my furniture, the whole (1bd) place just reeked.

My amazing mother looked at every purifier out there and this one had the best results and reviews! She soon ordered it for me, and now my apartment actually smells like my scentsy, my clothes smell clean, my furniture is “frebreezy” for longer! I absolutely love it! This has been the best purchase for my apartment since I started planning! This is most definitely not a necessity, but I would say the only down side is not being able to set it for a routine or be able to turn it off or on without going to it and tapping the top.

I have terrible memory and will forget to turn it on before I leave for work so that it runs during the day while I’m gone, or I’ll forget to turn it on before I go to bed. I set a reminder on my phone for it though, hehe.

Wonderful room air purifier. Purchased to use in a room that we have a feral cat in. He is a long hair, never had a bath, and has a dusty litter box in the room. This purifier is making all the difference in the dust and particles floating around in the air.

It is quite and does not disturb this animal at all. The device has the ability to be programed which is excellent! We have it set to run 8 hours starting in the a. m. It has made all the difference in this 15′ x 20′ room.

I have already purchased another (have not set up yet) and will probably purchase another one in the future.

Added these throughout my living space for a safe, natural means to manage any excess moisture. Great for odor control, too. Along with my Guardian Technologies air purifiers, these are additional positives to maintaining good indoor air quality.

Just started using the bamboo charcoal bags, rooms smell fresher and they are easier than lightning candles all the time.

I love the Sharper Image Home Comfort Purify 3 Air Purifier. My house is a zoo for animals. I have 4 dogs, 5 birds, 1 hamster, and 1 hedgehog that all have their unique smells. This system has done wonders in my living room where us humans and animals spend a majority of our time.

I noticed a huge difference right away with how clean and fresh the room feels. Even my other half who works on the road could tell a huge difference when he came home. The filtration system captures 99.

97% of airborne particles including ultra fine particles. The carbon filters helps to trap odors. The pre filter can be hand washed to help reduce the cost of filters. There is a filter indicator light to give you a heads up when the filters need attention.

There are 3 speed settings to help achieve freshness. Even with being on the highest setting, the noise level was quiet. I wasn’t having to increase the volume of my tv so I could hear it. I will defiantly be investing in a second one to use in my bedroom so help with the dog smell in there.

Great air purifier! It was super easy to set up and get going. Directions were straightforward. Its a smaller unit so perfect to put in a corner to save space. I definitely feel its working as the air has felt fresher.

We have cats so I feel an air purifier is a must in our house. Its super quiet and hardly noticeable. When the filter needs replacing there is an indicator to alert you. I am also a big fan of the ambient lighting.

I think its a great investment.

I have no external vent hood. This purifier does a good job absorbing smoke and cooking odours. It is almost silent on low and moves a lot of air on high. Permanent filters seem easy to clean. There is an ozone smell by times.

I think this is part of the purification and also from energy used to run the permanent filter. I am quite sure this will not go away. However, it is slight and easy to get used to it in the kitchen environment.

I love this little machine! I have had trouble in the past with allergies, dust, pollen, you name it. I live in Chicago, the land of the 100 year old apartments which, while quaint, collect dust like it’s their job.

As I continue to play Goldilocks by apartment hopping throughout the city, I’ve been attempting to make a meager tower fan work to mitigate my allergies. I received this a week ago and it has been a game changer.

The machine is sleek and easily evicted my tower fan from it’s home at my bedside. It fits in perfectly in my bedroom or any room for that matter. Extremely user friendly, all you have to do is plug in and press the large button on top.

There are two buttons on top. The large, round button allows you to toggle between three settings, low, medium and high, while the other smaller button lets the fan oscillate. The air purifier combines the functions of an air purifier, a fan and a white noise machine.

The lowest setting is basically silent while settings medium and high emit a pleasant white noise sound. I am breathing so much better with the help of this amazing product. My allergies have gone down significantly and it only continues to improve each night.

It’s like I’m sleeping on a hypoallergenic cloud each night, it’s amazing. I need to disclose that I received this product free for testing, thank you Influenster! However, I plan on buying another for my living room so I guess joke is on me!.

I’m very pleased with this product. You do hear the fan slightly however there is no additional noise when it oscillates and the fan sound is like “white noise” so it’s great in a bedroom. I love the convenience of the electric air purifier; that you can clean the filters with no additional cost.

I have an older version of this Honeywell Air Purifier and it’s been wonderful. I love the fact that this new model oscillates.

We’ve been using air purifiers in our home for years to help with allergies and pet dander, but with COVID in the last year we’ve also been a bit more concerned about maintaining a healthy environment free of viruses as well.

We’ve used a number of different brands — Honeywell, Levoit and more recently we’ve tried Blueair too. While those are all fine, I honestly feel like this Instant air purifier is the best value for money.

My favorite part is the air quality light that tells me exactly how clean the air in the room is — and then when it’s in auto mode it turns up the fan speed if air quality gets worse. You can just set it and forget it! I know it sort of feels like COVID-19 is “over” too, but I do appreciate that this is the only air purifier I’ve seen that is specifically proven to remove the COVID virus.

Even if COVID really is behind us, I feel safer knowing this purifier can handle it – or any other similar virus. It also has a plasma ion generator. I was skeptical at first, but after doing some research I realize that this is different from other ionizing air purifiers.

Because it uses both positive AND negative ions, it doesn’t produce harmful ozone and it doesn’t create the “black wall” effect I’ve avoided with negative ionizers. Supposedly it uses those ions to “neutralize” viruses and bacteria in the air even before they enter the filter.

Oh! And it’s the only air purifier I know that uses a filter that has a specific coating to prevent captured bacteria from breeding on it! I don’t know why they don’t play that up more. Anyway, I love this thing and would highly recommend.

We’re actually going to get another small one for my home office and a large one (with the air quality reading on the display) for our living room. My wife is also thinking of getting a couple of large ones for her classroom when she goes back to teaching this year too!.

I have been using the Instant Air Purifier for a couple of weeks and I am extremely impressed. I have been using another air purifier for a couple of years and the differences a big. The first size, my other one is huge and takes up a lot of room and is not very attractive and to be honest, is an eyesore to any room you put it in.

Second, is the sound emitted from it, with my old air purifier it was so much louder, and at times in our bedroom, it became too loud to even sleep. But the Instant air purifier is very quiet and has a purr like a kitten on the lowest setting.

The third thing I notice was setting it up, with the Instant Air purifier once you turn it on it is pretty much ready to go. It reads the room and sets its self. Unlike my other large bulky and loud machine where I had to set it up and if I moved it start all over.

As for how it’s working, we are using it in our room for a few reasons. Our dogs spend a lot of time in there since that is where they sleep and as you can imagine the pet dander and of course stale smells from them.

We also recently had a pipe brake in our master bathroom causing some water damage. Unfortunately, the mildew or mold smell had been creeping in. But after just two weeks and of course, fixing the damage from the water break the air in the room is so much more fresh and crisp.

We no longer smell that musty smell in the room and we had been using our old air purifier daily and did nothing to help. This is amazing that it took away the mustiness that our other Air purifier didn’t.

We are sleeping much better and not waking up congested and stuffy. We are extremely impressed with the Instant Air Purifier. I received this product free in exchange for my review.

This machine initially worked great. I bought two. Within a month of using them both a handful of times, the power button stopped working. I thought the whole unit was dead because since the power button was not illuminated you can’t find it or access any other buttons.

My second unit did the same thing. All buttons are like a smart phone and can only be found when illuminated. Many other button light illuminations then went out as well. The unit still works but it’s a guessing game every time to turn on to find the power button and then the other no longer Illuminated buttons.

Better off to look at a different brand. In my opinion the machine is not worth the price. It has issues the company needs to work out.

The Shark Air Purifier 6 is a great air purifier, with 6 fans and plenty of power to purify a large room worth of air. One of the headlining features is the Clean Sense IQ system which constantly measures air quality and adjusts the power of the fans accordingly.

This system is displayed very uniquely on the top and front of the air purifier with a circular display that changes color from blue to yellow to red as the air quality it measures gets worst. Likewise, you can use the touch controls on the top of the unit to change the display so that you can view things like cleaning time, clean air percentage, and levels of different particle categories.

One of the more interesting aspects of the air purifier is that it comes with a remote control which lets you also control many of the air purifier’s functions, which I personally don’t find myself using much at all as I tend to leave the purifier on “Auto” mode, which uses the Clean Sense IQ system to make the purifier a largely “set it and forget it” system.

Over the past week I have found that the clean air percentage has largely sat near or at 100% around the clock, and when using the “Auto” mode, leaves the fans in their lowest mode, which while not silent, is very quiet.

When I cook or use candles the air quality percentage will drop accordingly, and the fans will kick-up in response, blowing more air through the system the worst the air quality percentage. In general, I have found it can take a few hours to clean our larger living room/kitchen area, but you can watch at the percentage climb as the air quality normalizes over time.

Likewise, the system can provide you with an estimated time to clean as well, which is a nice touch. If I had to choose a downside for the device, it would likely be down to its size. While it is powerful, it is also very tall, and will require some space to set-up.

Thankfully, from an aesthetics standpoint, I do find it to be very good looking, and compliments the other tech in our living room very nicely. Also, if you wish to turn off the displays, you have that option as well to let the purifier blend into the background a bit more.

On another note, the air filter is also very large, which could lead to a larger cost down the road for replacements, which is something to consider. Overall, I really like this purifier and would certainly recommend it for those in the market for a strong purifier in a larger room.

It isn’t the “smartest” device it could be, and while the Clean Sense IQ works well, it still feels like a glorified automatic fan-speed changer at its core, rather than a true smart system. This being said, these are small complaints against an otherwise great performing and looking air purification system.

I rave about this air purifier. In this age of airborne illness, it gives me peace of mind knowing I’m doing my utmost to provide for my family. This innovative piece of technology is well designed and surprisingly intuitive, easy to set up and use.

The dashboard on top provides real time data about the air quality. The insights include the percentage of clean air and particles identified therein. There is also a handy indicator on the face of the product that provides a snapshot.

Both of these facets provide color coded visual references for air quality. Furthermore, you can see an estimate of how long it will take to purify the air as well as how much life is left on the filter.

Operationally, it can run automatically or manually. There are adjustable speed settings all of which are fairly quiet. It works efficiently and reliably. You can control it by hand or with the included remote.

And it covers a large area. I placed mine in my toddler’s room. My daughter is still in diapers so I can attest to the odor filtration. Aesthetically, it is sleek, thin and unobtrusive. It’s black and blends in with my furniture effortlessly.

All told, this is a fantastic device that I absolutely love.

I have been buying these for several years through the container store and so happy that BB carries them now. I love that it is a organic way to keep the air clean. I use them through out the home especially in a room that my dog likes to sleep in.

The room always smells so fresh & clean. Once a month I just let the bag sit in the sun for a few hours, shake the bag up & it just continually works cleaning the air. There has never been any damage to where ever I place the bag.

Comes in nice neutral colors too. Small bag does 8×11 room well. Well worth the $.

I read the reviews before buying and one review simply said “MAGIC!” I 100% AGREE!!! This is pure magic. I shook it up placing near my catbox, as one review believed that shacking the bag helped to activate it.

It works soo well I totally forget to clean the box! I have 2 cats and this is the BEST thing I bought compared to all the other air purifiers and fresheners I have wasted money on. This bag works for 2 years! All you have to do is place the bag in the sun every month to allow the UV rays eliminate the previously absorbed odors.

I’ve hung two of these in my home. I live in a manufactured home, with a Dachshund. She’s not smelly, but can get a little swampy smelling when she’s been out in the hot-humid July air. The charcoal has kept the “stink” down from cooking, pet, human smells and am tempted to buy several more to keep smells neutralized and fresh in the rooms we don’t use and the bathrooms.

I notice, after coming home from work, the stale smells have pretty much disappeared. And my scented candles, when I burn them, seem to smell better. longer. My pups sleeping area doesn’t smell. at all.

I’m good about washing her bedding, weekly, but the corner still gets “woofy”.

I purchased this product as a Christmas gift for myself. I needed a heavy duty air cleaner to combat smoke and toxic fumes from a plastics factory located next door, which has been causing me respiratory problems for years.

The inexpensive air cleaners I’ve purchased in the past were not up to the job. I picked this product after doing considerable on-line research, because it has multiple air filters of different types that not only remove particles from the air, but can also remove certain types of fumes.

It was the lowest priced unit I found that had all the different types of filters I require, plus the ability to circulate a large volume of air. I can’t comment on the effectiveness of this device at cleaning the air at this time, because the factory, which is the source of toxic air pollution that this air cleaner was purchased to combat, has been closed for the holidays.

However, I can say that I’m very impressed by the solid construction of the device, the large filters, and it’s ability to circulate air over a wide range of low and high speeds. It also has an ultraviolet lamp designed to kill airborne germs, a built-in timer, and an automatic mode which appears to adjust the fan speed in response to the changing level of contaminants in the air.

Although it is a heavy unit, it’s easy to move from room to room on the built in wheels. The only complaint I have so far is a minor one. An illuminated fan icon, which is designed to look like a rotating fan, looks like a flashing light from a distance and I find that to be very distracting.

I solved that problem by placing a piece of black tape over the illuminated fan icon. Based on the high quality of this unit, it appears to offer excellent value for the price and I believe it will be able to solve my air pollution problem when the factory reopens.

I compared over a dozen similar units and found this unit to be the best value. It is very quiet on “low” setting. I mainly bought this to handle air in a somewhat confined space that has VOC and mildew issues.

I noticed a marked reduction in the odor of both within several hours of running the unit on “low. ” Running the fan at a higher setting pushed the odors out into the room. The filter assembly is easy to access.

I like the power-outage feature. If the power goes out, the unit stays off until re-started. Also like that it has indicators to show when the filters need to be replaced. Unit is compact (about the size of a small dehumidifier) and lightweight.

Very easy to roll or lift. I’ve been running the unit nearly continuously for two weeks and it is working well. Replacement filters are expensive if purchased from the manufacturer so shop the web. Walmart had the lowest prices, but appears to only carry the HEPA and carbon filters.

Works great. I got this because my landlord installed new carpet before we moved in that are still outgassing, and irritating my throat. Not only does this air filter remove the odor, but my throat doesnt burn anymore from the carpet fumes.

I purchased this purifier a few weeks ago. I will buy another one (same one) soon for my downstairs. I have two dogs and a cat and my house gets a little smelly, especially in the winter months when you cannot open the windows.

I noticed the animal smell was gone the next day when I came home from work. My son’s bedroom is in the basement and he said coming upstairs he can definitely tell a difference. He’s the one that requested another device downstairs.

The device is not too loud. Usually I turn it on medium throughout the day and I don’t even notice it and it’s on turbo at night when sleeping. I have the device in my living room and sleep with my bedroom door open.

I hear it, but it’s not too loud. Only thing I wish it had, but I have not seen this on any purifiers out there, I wish you could have it emit a chosen smell. Like lilacs or cookies.

We have had Honeywell HPA300 for 2 months and run it continuously on highest setting the entire time. The noise level is not bothersome and helps create white noise for sleep and privacy with folks working from home.

We feel it helps with allergies to our dog and with drawing out dust and other particles in the air. Our dog actually likes to sit near it. Easy set up. Can get a higher grade prefilter too. Quickly removes particles from cooking when near kitchen.

We have no stove vent so windows & this are our only tools now. We got it & 4 other Honeywell air purifiers to support overall house air filtration based on years of scientific research on indoor air quality that is now useful to prevent COVID infection.

We can’t find a MERV13 filter for our HVAC system so these assist in clearing air particles. Please keep carrying Honeywell, Chewy.

Very quiet on the lowest setting. Not too bad on the 2nd setting. Fairly loud on the highest setting. Very loud on turbo. Easy to operate and understand. When you get it and go to set up be careful opening the cover for the filters.

Do not pull!! You push on each side to remove the cover. If you pull you will break the cover. Luckily I had read about this before I got it. The design of the outside is ok but may not be too everyones liking.

I personally like the design. Know that the unit is pretty large at 22 inches tall x 18. 5 inches wide.

The fridge itself looks very sleek and modern. The weight, however, is more than expected, but nothing to complain about. The temperature is very nice to keep drinks cool, but the disadvantage that it would be a loud noise.

In essence, the cooler you want the fridge is, the stronger the fridge is. As expected, no complaints. My only complaint would be the customization of the fridge (inside), especially the racks. As others have mentioned, the refrigerator racks were not well designed in terms of place freely around the refrigerator.

Also, I would like to wish the light of the LED to have a way of “door” like a car, in which the light will come on only when I open the refrigerator. Overall, the fridge is amazing and would recommend it.

The product does what it says it will do – make ice – at fairly decent rate. What is doesn’t do is keep the ice separate. The ice is “wet” enough on the outside that when you place it in the ice tray in the freezer – you get ice bergs.

It is really frustrating to have to break up the ice just so you can use it. I don’t know if the product is defective as the ice cones fall into water; then the cones are dumped into the removable basket.

30 Jul 21: Now I’ve had the product for close to 3 years. During that time, the machine would clog on a regular basis and wouldn’t fill. My son gave me his of a similar company and his has the out of water constantly lit.

Tried to revive mine with vinegar and water mix. Now it has died, again. I wouldn’t recommend countertop ice makers. They’re unreliable, frustrating, and expensive to fix!.
