This crypto wallet does provide a very desirable function to consolidate all your crypto into one device. This particular Nano S Plus sits in the middle of the current array of Ledger devices. It can have as many as 100 installed apps – note these must be the apps the device will recognize.

One of the apps I use for Bitcoin for example was not included in the current accepted apps but Ledger does give you an opportunity to request future inclusion – nice touch. In any event, the list of acceptable apps will allow you to manage all your various crypto currencies in one place.

Most important is the security of the device. A tip of the cap to the Ledger design engineers for using a secure certified chip (CC EAL5+) to ensure your protection is optimized in today’s world. You can install apps on many platforms including Windows, Mac, Android, Apple iOS and even Linux.

This device does not have Bluetooth connectivity (the Ledger Nano X does but costs more), so you will need a cable. Oddly the device has a USB C port but the single cable provided works only with a computer USB A port; although the cell phone use is touted.

I started to install on my Android cell phone and found at that time that I would need a USB C to USB C cable which was not supplied. This was not optimal since it is very important to do a smooth install to be sure you manage the security of the device.

Point is that while installing, the device will generate a 24 word code (called your Secret Recovery Phrase) that you MUST record and not lose. This 24 word code is the only way to recover your assets if you lose/damage your Nano device, or forget your pin.

So I was surprised to realize I had to go find the right cable after I installed the app and was ready to connect. The other concern as to installation was that you are warned to very carefully follow the step by step instructions but one of the first things I noticed was even after I installed the app, one instruction popped up to download the app which was already running.

My critique is that this is a very sensitive situation so the software designers need to go back through their instructions to eliminate even these types of smaller bits of confusion to ensure confidence in the users for a device that handles financial transactions.

Another area of install I would alter is the input of your PIN, I noticed that as you enter a digit it is then blocked from view. In the install situation it would be better to leave the pin digits displayed.

You do need to reenter the PIN for verification so that helps. But the designers should realize that you are creating your PIN in a secure environment and it is more important to show the PIN since the user will be wanting full awareness of what is going on.

Small point but I think worthy to note. Overall I was satisfied that the device is secure, just needs some tweaking on the install. I like the ability to manage all your crypto currency in one very secure spot.

This device is functionally very well designed and I would recommend it.

Humminbird has missed the user-friendly mark by going to the mini-SD card platform. The Helix 7 combo for which I purchased this Zero-Line card is the fourth Humminbird that I have owned. I have used SD cards on three of the four units that I have owned too.

Normal SD cards are easy to handle; Mini-SD cards are too small. They are difficult to insert in the tiny slot, but that is not the worse part. I have to use tools like tweeters or tiny screwdrivers to remove the card from my Helix unit.

Did the card work? Yes, but it is a pain to insert and remove. I did talk to a Rep at Humminbird and he said he experienced the same issues with his Helix 5 unit.

I bought this about a month ago. I fish in the arrowhead of Minnesota 5 days out of the week and it has been a key piece of equipment for putting walleye in my boat. I have been able to map out hidden rock/sad bars that many people without auto chart will never know about with out a humminbird! I have noticed that I cannot map large rocks in shallow water under 2 feet of water because the transducer sends singles that is is deep water when it’s a very large rock/rock in shallow water.

I also notice that this piece of equipment does glitch some days. But I recommend it to anyone who fishes a ton!.

To use the data you need to by a program that comes with this card. Wish they would make that clear, on the box it says to use Autochart to Convert it to detailed maps but fails to mention anywhere that that is a paid program.

Do not buy this, get the $200 autochart software it comes with one of these cards and you will have the software to use it. There is Autochart LiveShare but that is garbage, it just over lays the data on google maps and doesnt really present it in a way that is useful for anything.

I purchased the Great Lakes version and used it on 10,000 acre Portage Lake in Houghton county Michigan. I trolled 65 miles of shoreline in six days using the LakeMaster gps map. I wanted to target trolling in 12 feet of water in a new lake for me.

The gps data on the SD card matched up nearly perfect with sonar depth. I ran a split screen so I could compare gps data and sonar at the same time. Great product and makes learning new water a very simple accurate process.

Being able to know the water depth out in front of the boat was an advantage for trolling and absolutely put more fish in the boat.

I thought somewhere along the line somebody would’ve thought about being able to get an account linked with the chip and you would be able to also to use this on your phone. From what I can tell its just another way for these guys to charge extra money for having to purchase maps separately on the fish smart app instead of being able to somehow use the lakemaster chip you just spent all that money on.

I see something about bluetoothing to you phone but then you have to spend another $6,7,800+ to upgrade to a newer unit. Very disappointed you have to purchase a card for each head unit as well. Very poorly thought out product.

My experience is limited with the product, but Im excited to continue using it. I had been feeling like I was spending more time studying maps than fishing, especially when on unfamiliar waters. The map quality is amazing! Excellent detail for most of the lakes that I fish.

I was able to use the Smart Strike a few times and it definitely helped me get on fish faster. They werent always active, but I was able to mark them. It was a huge advantage versus blindly heading from break to break.

I could easily see a dozen recommendations and hop from location to location. Now, if it could only tell me what lure and technique would get fish on the hook Id be all set!.

A bit of a learning curve but good stuff. Nothing bad to say about BOE just wish humminbird was not so proud of their software/chips. I previously purchased lakemaster chip and found it a waste of money.

At least with zero lines I will have accurate charts of my fishing areas.

I bought this expecting absolute disaster based on other reviews. I read the instructions a few times and headed to a local little puddle, laptop even along for the trip. I did a few zig zags etc as instructions say to do, stopped recording, plugged card into laptop with autochart already loaded onto it, did what the instructions said to do, plugged card back in my ‘bird and had contour lines!! All excited I moved the cursor over to the deepest one and hit “go to” button, “follow the contour” and direction popped up and away my ulterra went following the contour! Next experiment was dropped a downrigger in what is basically a trout pound – down 33′ in 35’ of water – trout after trout after trout – big ones too!! All the time the ulterra piloting the boat slog effortlessly via the map autochart helped me create – on a lake where no maps exist! I can’t tell you how much I LOVE this setup!!.

A powerful tool, but not user friendly at all. I want to spend my time fishing and analyzing information, not trying to figure out how to use software. Hummingbird could redesign this software to be user friendly and intuitive for those that are not computer experts.

Given the time it takes me to figure out how to do what I want this software to do, I’ve largely abandoned the effort, and this was largely a wasted purchase for me.

I was one of the lucky ones who got this Wisconsin V-4 in March. I have all the other Smart Strike versions also. All of them I have really like but the Version 4 has so many more lakes in total, and so many more in high definition.

I really like the mapping and the smart strike sure helps on lakes for the first time or for different times of the year for finding fish. Easier to pattern them and then u can refine your search and highlight only the best areas.

The depth highlighting and hazard markers sure make it way safer to navigate new waters and keep your boat from damage. This chip is money well spent. Stay safe and good luck!.

Very challenging puzzles, no authors name to solve (which end up people you never heard of so impossible to not look up the answer), and I Love the spiral binder. It is so much easier just folding back the page instead of breaking the spine to be able to hold it comfortably.

This book is printed on heavy paper making for easy eraser marks. Larger print that most and spiral bound. Yippee

It may have been my oversight, but I expected charts that were NOT sticky on the back. Those are nice in the moment but not useable after the fact, and not recyclable. Was it clear in the description that they were sticky? If so, my bad.

I had to use them 2 days after they arrived, so couldn’t exchange. But GREAT delivery, came the very next morning.

I think these are over-priced for what you get. The quality is very good, but who really needs high quality newsprint for taking notes at a meeting? My rating of 3 stars is based on value for the money.

I made an incorrect assumption that any product bearing the name 3M would include 3M patented stickiness. This is not the case with this paper, which is generic, non-sticky paper, meant to be clamped onto an easel, and torn off, page by page.

I ended up finding 3M painter’s tape, to stick the sheets to the wall for the workshop I was running. I will not make the same mistake again because this was labor-intensive, and ridiculously inefficient!.

Faster screen refresh, intuitive operation, versatile screen setups, having both touch screen and keypad functionality a real plus. Velocity tracking of moving targets with dual range very beneficial especially when in even bright daylight you sometimes cannot see a boat coming at you from behind.

Also have set up fuel management on my carbureted inboard. What a fantastic feature to have. I can see instantly fuel consumption rate, fuel range, fuel used and remaining fuel. So reassuring and another boating safety feature to have.

Keep up the great products.

I think these cards are exciting, really setting the scene on the journey of your emotions. They somehow cause a reprogram of your inner thoughts to ponder your experiences in a different way. Lots of ahh moments and feelings of comfort.

I have several decks of cards and these will be one of my favourites. Lovely illustrations with lots of details to use your intuition from. The book also has guidance for if the cards come reversed, always handy.

Good range of messages too to cover a lot of life topics so make a good general deck. Card stock is good and they shuffle and spread nicely.

The Ledger Nano S is a very affordable hardware crypocurrency wallet that supports many cryptocurrency types. The device is very secure with Ledger’s own operating system and numerous anti-hacking enhancements.

The device generates your own private key for your cryptocurrency you install an app for each cyrpto currency. The actual crypocurency stays on the blockchain. The Nano S can support 5-11 tokens through apps You can remove an app and put in another if you need to add a token to sell or exchange it and you don’t have space your crypto from the removed app will stay in the Ledger wallet although this is not ideal it is doable.

Bottom line if you need more apps on a regular basis you can purchase the big brother the Nano X. The setup was easy, just install the Ledger live app on your computer or mobile device, connect your Nano S with the included USB cord.

The App will walk you through the setup. Data entry is achieved by using two buttons on the device, this is a little tedious but once you get used to it not too bad. The device will generate your recovery security words and ask you to confirm them.

You can specify if you want 18 or 24. You will need to copy the 18 or 24 security words these are your keys to get back into your wallet if anything happens to your device. After the device is setup you can install an app to support the cryptocurrency you need to move to the wallet.

When you are ready to transfer you cryptocurrency you just copy the Ledger wallet address and use the standard transfer method for your online exchange or wallet to get it into the Ledger wallet. You can also store NFTs or connect your Ledger wallet to other wallets like Metamask, Ledger has a vast online help library to guide you.

I had one glitch setting up the wallet after I generated the 24 security words you confirm them, I did not get through the entire 24, the device rebooted twice, I think it was doing a firmware update.

After the second reboot I entered the 24 security words to restore the wallet and it worked as expected. You might want to connect the Ledger S to your computer and let it update if it needs to so you can avoid this.

Ledger is a well know and it’s device has a proven record of reliability. I feel this is the best choice for most of cryptocurrency investors who generally hold 5-6 types of cryptocurrency.

I own a mix of cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, BAT), spread out across a few exchanges. I’ve never consolidated them in one place because it seems every month there’s a story about some exchange being hacked, breached, or just randomly shutting down and taking everyone’s assets with them.

This is why an offline wallet is needed, it ‘should’ give you real peace of mind that your assets are secure and away from the uncertainty of the internet. The Ledger Nano S is slightly larger than a standard USB drive, but instead of being a USB drive, it’s a crypto wallet.

It has a small LCD screen, two buttons (for menus, entering data, selection, etc), and a micro USB port to connect it to your computer. I don’t think it has a battery, it seems to be USB powered. Setup is straightforward and gives you a taste of the focus on security.

You enter a PIN (up to 8 characters) using the Ledger Nano S buttons, make a permanent note of the (long) passphrase, verify you recorded your passphrase, and you’re ready to install “apps”. The best analogy for the apps is they’re really accounts that are attached to various crypto assets.

You install all of these using the ledger. com app (Windows or Mac) by connecting the device to your computer using the included USB A to Micro USB cable. The Ledger software is intuitive and within a few minutes, I was set up to transfer my BAT (Brave Browser) crypto holdings to the wallet.

There were no issues with the transfer and it works as you would expect crypto to work – fast, seamless, accurate. No concerns you will miskey a wallet address, or send money to the wrong account. That can make a big difference to your confidence in large crypto trades.

Ledger is very good from that perspective. The bigger issue though is the Ledger Nano as a device and the general trade-offs with offline crypto wallets. There are some hardware things that bug me. It’s micro USB when I really wish Ledger had gone for USB C.

I kind of understand why they went with a cable rather than USB A (because you need to press buttons to unlock the device) but not being USB C feels like a miss, it means you need to always have a cable with you whenever you want to use the Ledger device.

Although I guess it makes you less likely to do impulse trades! Ha! The other little frustrating thing is two different computers flagged the ledger software as being high risk. Windows Defender also flagged the software when I tried to download it – something Ledger needs to address with antivirus vendors.

FYI there was no issue with my Mac, so seems to be a Windows issue. The last one and this is embarrassing but true, I lost the drive for a few hours because when I removed it from my keyring to test it on another computer my other half started tidying up and thought I had just left a USB drive out and put it away with a draw full of other drives.

So I had a real moment of panic that I had lost my crypto. So you really need to guard the Ledger with your life carry it everywhere if you want your crypto secure AND available (they include a neck lanyard and keyring in the box).

For me, I’m giving the Ledger Nano a 3 – it’s a step forward in keeping your crypto safe. Ledger Nano is a good offline wallet and security tool, but I am not sure I would recommend it over using some other U2F tool with an online wallet.

And I have read too many horror stories about people losing cold wallets. If they updated it to USB C and added U2F support so you could also use it both as a wallet and a security token with other exchanges, it could be perfect.

All of this leaves me putting the Ledger Nano at closer to a 3 than a 4. It’s secure, safe but enough little nagging doubts to stop me from recommending it.

For the holidays, I’m giving my kids and close friends a small basket of cryptocurrencies so I bought 6 of these Ledger Nano S cryptocurrency hardware wallets in different colors to load up with Bitcoin as gifts.

I have one left over and if you are curious about cryptos, this is a great place to start and I would be happy to provide personal support on how to set it up use it. In order to own a cryptocurrency, you have to have some kind of wallet where you keep the keys.

Wallets also provide some utility functions like accessing the balance of your cryptos and buying or swapping tokens you hold in that wallet. There are two kinds of wallets: software and hardware. Hardware wallets, like this Nano S are the most secure kind of wallet.

There is quite a learning curve to get started in cryptos and I wanted to make the gift as simple to own and use as possible. For my kids, I set up the password and wrote down the unique 24-word mnemonic on the special cards that come with the Nano S.

I plan to send each of my kids a Nano S in one package and the password/24-word mnemonic in a separate envelope for security. That way, if they are disinterested in cryptos, they can just throw it all into a drawer or a safe and forget about it and I can send more crypto to them anytime I like, on a birthday, for example.

Meanwhile, they can easily move their cryptos to a different wallet if they so choose. By loading cryptos onto their wallets before sending them, I now have a dashboard in the related app, Ledger Live, where I can see the balances in all my kids accounts and easily send more cryptos (but I can’t remove cryptos from their accounts because I don’t have the physical device after I send it to them).

This is by far one of the best gifts I’ve ever given, IMHO.

As a newbie to crypto, I spent a considerable amount of time researching various wallets. Ultimately I decided on the Ellipal. What sold me was the large screen that feels and operates like a smart phone.

Set up was easy. just follow the instructions. In addition, I bundled my purchase to include the Mnemonic Wallet for safe storage of my phrases. I was impressed with the sturdiness. A must option for safe storage rather than writing phrases on paper where they can easily smudge.

The only recommendation is for Ellipal to improve the battery life. I understand that the Ellipal Device is a transitional tool but the battery drains quickly. I guess it’s meant to complete the transaction and close off.

Another feature were the tutorials found on Youtube. They were short, concise and easy to implement. They provided me with peace of mind when completing my first couple of transactions. Everything went smoothly.

As a pair, the Wallet Device & APP work in harmony. I would recommend this Ellipal Combo to any crypto user.

I have read some very negative reviews towards the Ellipal wallet. Thus the account balance would not appear in the wallet, whereas according to my understanding the Ellipal wallet is a key holder of accounts and the balances are displayed in the application installed on the smartphone.

The cost of transactions would be too high. Judge for yourselves: when Bitstamp indicates a price of 3224 USD for 1 ETH, the Ellipal application indicates a price of 3221. 81 USD, while to exchange this amount for PAX stablecoins the price displayed becomes 3201.

74 USD. Compared to Bitstamp it is a difference of 22. 26 USD. But how much of this amount is used to cover the cost of a transaction on the Ethereum network? The app display is large and easy to navigate.

When opening the wallet security requires entering a pattern by connecting four of the nine displayed dots. The basic principle of how the wallet works to communicate by QR codes without ever transmitting the private keys and without ever using connection protocols Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or anything like that seems to me very safe and well thought out.

Regarding the battery life, the charge is 50% after four days without use. My criticism would be limited to deploring that Ellipal has not yet designed a display suitable for a computer with Apple’s M1 chip.

It is the format of the iPhone that is displayed which is unattractive. The speed of transaction confirmation which should also be improved because it takes a little longer than for other types of wallets (Metamask, Paxos, Keybase, Lobstr).

I have not had to resort to Ellipal customer service but from what I have read there appears to be a genuine concern to address customer concerns.

After trying this, I returned my Ledger. It’s such a joy to use. I hate needing to resort to my laptop instead of phone, and ELLIPAL is by far easiest hardware wallet, as native token support means you can do all from a phone without having to figure out 3rd party apps.

Also, you can easily connect to DApps and DEXes such as “pancake swap” from live app wallet connect directly, which is amazing as lets you maximize your crypto value through staking, etc. Two issues I wish would be improved: 1.

No support for Solana or Monero. 2. And this is a BIG one – your account cannot and will not generate new addresses after use/reuse. Once an address is used to spend, the private key becomes theoretically hackable (tho admittedly today it would take some doing, the vulnerability is there.

When quantum computers arrive, this will be a major vulnerability). The only way to ensure security is to generate a new wallet address after every (re)use, ESPECIALLY after spending/ outgoing transactions, as this reveals the public key from which your private key may be derived.

Hardware wallets typically provide this function, but ELLIPAL does not. Ledger, for example, automatically sends your crypto to a new ‘change address’ to cover your back with every spend. Thus the only way to ensure security after an outgoing transaction on ELLIPAL, is to generate new account, with brand new seed phrase, and then manually transfer all your crypto there.

Major hassle! And, Ellipal: this is a huge oversight in your security! Needs to be fixed or air-gap means very little! Overall, I’m super delighted with this hardware wallet. Highly recommend.

This family tree has way too much space for the current generations, which only have a few children, so 1/2 of the whole thing is blank. There are lines going to the same places twice and not enough spaces for the great great grandparents.

There should be 8 spaces for great great grandparents but there are only 4, so pick and choose which great grandparents you want to record! Would not recommend.

I have worked with genealogy charts for many years and this chart is totally confusing. I do not see how to fill it out. The chart itself is nice size and of good quality. If I can figure it out I will add to my rating.

Right now I am very disappointed in it.

I’ve had one of these for a couple of years now. The only problem is the builtin browser. A large number of popular websites just come back with “this browser is no longer supported”. But my biggest is problem is: Where do I get replacement pens for this product? They are surprisingly easy to lose, and the ends of the pens have specific sizes that enable specific functionality of the product.

You’ll see what I mean if you get one.

Bought this for my office with the intent to have a computer attached to it 24/7 and to not use any of the built in features. – The panel is difficult to view side on, the glass is too thick – There is no palm rejection, you cant rest your hand on the screen while writing – the Source window menu “bubble” is intrusive and cannot be hidden If Samsung can correct the palm rejection and the non hideable source window menu bubble in a future firmware update this would be a robust device.

Love if for the office, so easy for the team to collaborate.

Extremely detailed with a wealth of information to make your time on the water safer, and more productive if you are fishing. I was impressed with how much more detail is included on the HD lakes, and even those without HD features have better detail than the stock Lowrance maps.

After using it for a day I decided to utilize the online download for the latest updates. Be forewarned, it is not a fast process. Even with a fast internet connection, it took several hours to complete the download.

I really like the capability Navionics has for users to record their depth soundings, upload them, and provide Navionics with the latest information to keep their charts current. I was very impressed to see hazards like stumps, rock piles, submerged features like weeds and so on, all noted right on the map.

While the cards are not cheap, I do think there is enough valuable information here to make it (almost) worth it. Hitting one stump or rock pile would easily damage a prop or lower end unit, thus paying for this card.

These are great cards as long as you dont care about being able to use updates. Because the card was used I was unable to do so. This was the main reason I purchased this card so I was a bit bothered that I couldnt do so.

I was skeptical at first on whether these were or official Garmin Maps for the price. I can confirm they are official Garmin maps and are great quality. Make sure you put the MicroSD card in your GPS gently.

I almost broke the port on my Garmin GPS. They also come with the latest updates so you can update your system as well. This worked with my Lakeview Maps as well with no interference. It has great detail inside harbors.

A great deal considering Garmin wants over $300 more for the same map. This worked on my Garmin Echomap Chirp 73SV flawlessly. You can check on Garmin website to see if the map will work with your GPS as I did.

I use the G2 vision in the waters of Puget Sound, the Straits of San Juan De Fuca, and the straits of georgia. For navivation, G2 makes the 546 series garmin chartplotter much nicer – great pictures, the find gas, food, services feature and route plotting enabled by the G2 vision card are great.

For fishing though, the detailed topograpic data for dept and bottom formations is unreliable and often misleading. In some cases it is right, but in more cases than not, I feel that someone cheated and just drew lines by hand and guessed the depth based on shoreline countours.

This can be disasterous to trolled gear – and more than once the detailed fishing maps show a flat bottom and a spire rises up that is not on the chart and you have to scramble to save your gear. Since this is why I bought the chip, if you are looking at the fishing chart feature, i have found that Lowrance fishing charts are the way to go.

Sorry Garmin, but you should have paid for the accurate depth charts instead of going to “Depth are us”.

Bought a Garmin Oregon for a backup GPS on my boat, ordered BlueChart g2 for east coast. Micro SD chip is easy to install (but need to remove from larger, SD chip holder). User has control of detail level on GPS, which is very useful.

But, I also wanted to view this chart on my computer (Mac) and the instructions in the package are worthless in this regard. If you want to view a Garmin BlueChart Micro SD on your computer, you will need to purchase and download Garmin’s Homeport application (yes, buy it, they give away the BaseCamp software, but not Homeport 🙁 , install Homeport, then connect your GPS to computer using USB cable.

You could also use the SD Chip holder to insert card into SD slot on computer if you have one. Once Homeport is installed and setup, the Blue Chart becomes very, very useful. You can now set up waypoints and routes on your pc and download to GPS.

WARNING – when downloading data to your GPS, be sure you do not overwrite the BlueChart maps. Garmin really should write-protect these cards.

Trails and sites on the 24k Topo map appear limited to USGS and does not include BLM land. If you create routes for BLM trails, you need to disable the 24k map on the GPS so the GPS will show other trails in the vicinity of your route.

When creating routes in Basecamp for Yosemite, I find myself switching between the 24k and the TopoActive America map that comes preinstalled. I will keep it, but if I only had $100 to spend it would not be on the 24k map.

Works fine in Oregon 650T with topo lines and roads. I visited 2 parks in Idaho this October – Bruneau Dunes Idaho state park and City of Rocks National Reserve. Both are popular places – especially City of Rocks internationally renown for rock climbers.

Both have a trail system with signposts and good trail layout. I could not find a single trail in either of these 2 parks on this map file. It did have some of the major rock formation names in City of Rocks, and road routing did work.

It may have trails in some regions- but so far I have not found them. Compared to other regional maps I have purchased, the trail coverage for this map is not as good. (and perhaps poor).

I’m keeping the basemaps on my Garmin simple. Tracts of Forested areas get logged or burned off, property ownership changes, etc. The couple of Birdseye satellite images I downloaded for areas of Michigan’s UP were horribly out of date.

And overlaying topo contours on aerial images is not as visible as an old USGS Quad style map. For out hunting out west, I want to clearly see steep ridges, saddles, etc. so 24K Topo maps fit the bill for me.

and they are about 1/4th the price of Garmin’s OnX maps.

This is a great addition to out stay themed study. I looked around a bit for a piece that had constellations. This piece is great for anyone with similar needs

Its a super cute rug. I just failed to measure the room, so it’s smaller than what I expected.

We use it to store our blankets in the living room, and it looks very classy.
