20 Best Chaser For Whiskey (2022 Updated)

During quarantine, we got really into whiskey tasting and trying to identify certain flavor profiles. This allows us to create our own whiskey! It was a challenge to find unaged burbon, but we finally found it in the moonshine section at Total Wine (the guy told us they didn’t have it).

I love single-malt whisky, but hate the way metal flasks make it taste. I owned one already but had to get a black leather one! It’s a fantastic product, well worth the price!

I am upset with this set. The ONLY reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because the glass is a good sturdy weight. Like the other reviews and pictures my glasses were dirty upon arrival. They had a greasy film like they went through a dirty dishwasher, they also had fingerprint smears on the inside of the glasses! I bought diffrent set but the glasses were too thin so I decided to keep these.

They are nice looking once clean but I’m pretty disappointed they didn’t arrive clean. I will not be purchasing anything from this brand again.

I purchased this set to put in a gift basket for my husband and he absolutely loved it. He said it was a classy gift and the glasses are really beautiful. I saw reviews that the stones don’t stay cold but let me tell you my hubby is about his whiskey and bourbon and prefer the stones over ice.

The only thing I didn’t like was I agree with some of the other reviews about having to clean off everything. The items were packed ok, but the glasses were dusty and the stones were all over the box.

Other than that, loved it.

I bought them for my fiancé for Father’s Day and couldn’t wait to give them to him. And he loves this set.

I absolutely loved the look of this dispenser. The rustic look of it is a wonderful addition to a bar. Especially if you are doing a rustic or antique type theme for your bar. The stream of the liquor is well controlled, it doesn’t come out extremely fast like you would think due to the faucet look to the dispensor.

I love that it comes out in a small stream. It does only take certain sized bottles, which is totally fine. Other than making sure you have the correct sized bottle, it is a great piece to have to your home bar.

My husband absolutely loves it. He is amazed with how gorgeous it looks and how much it grabs people’s attention. I feel that it is easy to clean as well. I definitely recommend this piece. Two thumbs up from us!.

This liquor dispenser has an awesome upscale look and design. Unfortunately that’s where the positives end. The material used is cheap and light weight and the actual dispenser part was put on slightly crooked and isnt something we can fix.

Because it was made with cheap feeling material, it easy scratches, chips and dents. Cool design. from far away.

I was really looking forward to getting these Dragon Whiskey Glasses. Saw them on a TV show and was transfixed! So I was incredibly bummed when I got them and they didn’t live up to my expectations. They are very small, and the mouth is especially narrow.

Plus, they’re quite clunky–heavy, thick glass that, although it lends sturdiness, really detracts from the overall look. Instead of a delicate, classic cocktail glass, the feel of these is much more like a tumbler.

Aha! Lesson learned. Read the description of this product more carefully than I did. It’s lead-free crystal clear GLASS, not Lead-Free Crystal. We read what we want to see. When I opened the somewhat beat up box, my very first impression was that the glasses were pretty.

I love the angles and lines of the design. My first uh-oh, however, was the rim of the glass. It’s more reminiscent of a dollar-store drinking glass than the fine cut crystal that I would choose for sipping spirits with my love or a business client.

That said, I will more likely use these on a dressing table to float a single small blossom from my garden than for the original intended purpose. Even there I may wish for a finer product. They’re pretty at first.

I’m sure they’re durable. They are not the quality we were expecting. These will possibly end up in a Goodwill collection box before long if I don’t find a good alternative use for them.

Functional art designed with relaxation and comfort as the result. My sweet daughter has always been animated when she speaks. She recently related an incident where her sudden movement caused broken glassware, wine stains on fine clothing and expensive boots during a social gathering.

I wondered why we have used long stemmed glasses for so long when there are people like Dragon Glassware who have designed beautiful alternatives. They arrive in a beautiful, protective box ready to gift.

I have started upgrading my glassware from their offerings. These Diamond glasses are perfect in every way. Thanks for asking.

Firstly, I liked the presentation of this product. The box was in great condition with a gold logo and writing on it and edged in gold as well. Opening it up revealed a sheet of paper behind which was the six rocks flanked by two glasses.

There’s also a small set of sheets of paper containing some instructions tied with two pieces of wood. The glasses are an interesting shape that I liked, and the stones are quite attractive and coloured differently.

The glasses did look a little ‘dull’, but they’re easy to hold thanks to the spiralled ridges. The rocks are on a hardwood board that you slide into the freezer. They don’t take up that much space. The instructions claim to leave them overnight, but research on the web suggests four hours is enough.

I did this initially and found no difference between using a rock that had been in the freezer overnight. The idea with these rocks is not (I believe) to chill the Scotch to ice cold temperatures, but to bring it down to lower temperatures which can bring out more flavours.

I found the rock certainly did this and I enjoyed a measure of Japanese whisky (Well, two or three if truth be known. ) and some Glen Ord. Normally, I drink with a drop of water, and don’t use ice, so using the rock to chill and a drop of water did give me a nice drink.

However, the rock only chills the drink for a small period of time, as it quickly absorbs the heat, unlike ice, which melts and disperses through the drink and cools it for longer. I thought this was a lovely, well-presented product, but I’m not overly convinced of the benefits over normal ice.

This would make an interesting and novel gift for a whisky drinker. Maybe in summer it will be good, as there’s nothing worse than warm Scotch and ice might melt too quickly and dilute it too much. I will continue to use them, but I do find that you have to drink quite quickly before the effect wears off.

This really is a an appealing whisky tumbler and cooling stones set. Even before you open the box to access the contents the packaging (and storage box) is evidently of high quality. Inside are housed two nicely weighted and comfortable-in-the-hand tumblers and the six solid granite cooling rocks and wooden holding tray.

Even the accompanying information/instructions are thoughtfully designed and housed within the well protected and upholstered box (and charmingly are tagged with small wooden, square tags). The stones themselves are milled to a very fine finish and – after freezing them for the advised 24 hours – really effective in keeping one’s liquor chilled throughout several drams (depending on how quickly you neck the stuff of course!).

I’m a keen whisky drinker and I’m surprised by how adding a chilled stone elevates the experience (and the set overall adds a certain ‘sense of occasion’ to the proceedings, as it were). I don’t think I will bother for scotches that benefit from added water, but for neat measures it works well.

In short this is set is a lovely item that any scotch or bourbon would be delighted with (though it could equally complement most, if not all, spirits you may fancy). If I have any complaint it is that you have to leave the stones in your freezer rather than housed in the box with the glasses (which is a bit of a shame as they are attractive and tactile things in themselves).

Highly recommended.

I gave this as a gift and the recipient loved it!. The glasses are handsome, well-designed for the whiskey aroma, and feel good in your hand. The granite chilling stones are solid granite, hold the cold for a long while, and the varied colors make them most interesting.

The wooden panel that the stones sit in is quite attractive. The only concern we had is that the box was split at the seams in two places. This appears to have occurred in sipping, likely a heavier package was sitting on it.

We didn’t return it because the recipient plans to display the rocks and glasses outside of the box, it’s that attractive! Many happy whiskey shipping hours ahead.

Looks real good and gives the single malts a new dimension.

Purchased for Xmas gift to my daughter. She was very surprised and pleased with glassware. Says it created a lot of oohs and ahh and laughter. Wanted to know if glasses are available in larger size.

Beautiful classes. They were packed well and made a very nice gift! I thought they would be a bit heavier though…

I like them but there’s a hint of pink-ish color which I’m not a big fan of, kind of take away from the glass.

Those glasses are so slick!! It keeps your Manhattan cold and delicious all along. Make sure you don’t put more water above the line. Otherwise it will be difficult to remove the black rubber when you want to use your glass.

The square shape of the glass is a bit unusual to drink from, but I suppose the ice wouldn’t stay in the glass if the shape was round. Overall, we love those glasses. Highly recommend them!!.

Very solid clean looking shot glasses. They went thru HEAVY usage in our bar. I am definitely ordering more. Precisely measured as well as a good balanced feel while taking a shot. They also work well serving bombs !!!.

These are pretty much your standard shot glass. I really like this shape when it comes to taking shots — something about it makes the shot easier to take (or maybe it’s just the size?). Basically when it comes to taking a shot these are pretty perfect, albeit not the most elegant glass there is.

I have this theme for my boys toys to be mostly alcohol related. Saw this, had to have it. Must say it’s not what I really expect. This is not a “plush” toy. No stuffing. It comes with the bottle inside for the “crunch” noise.

The lid to the bottle is the squeaker. However, once the bottle gets destroyed a regular water bottle fits inside as replacement but the squeaky cap does not fit on regular water bottle. The Velcro is of good quality but easily Accessible for your dog to chew and once that’s shot the toy isn’t of much value.

I am a bit disappointed in this toy, but t has good qualities too. I chose this as an outdoor toy for our 7 month old Golden Retriever to replace one we had that was destroyed. This isn’t the best toy for outside as the pink part is very plush.

Also there is a velcro part on the bottom of this toy to make the bottle replaceable which is nice, except for our puppy the best part of this toy is opening the velcro and chewing on the flap, maybe it is just her.

The cool thing about his bottle toy is the bottle not only crunches but it also squeeks. The bottle has a cap on it that makes a squeek. That cap is replaceable on a different bottle as well. I have replace the bottle in ours already.

I had the Zippypaws whale which she absolutely loved. Each time she crushed the bottle, I’d put a new one in and it was like a new toy again. We had it for quite some time until she finally ripped a hole in the nose.

I decided to try this one next. Unlike the whale, this one has a velcro flap that folds over. Within 5 minutes, she figured out how to open it and take the bottle out. Sadly, I can’t use it. Waste of money.

Life is sometimes like a big circle. There’s no real beginning, middle, or end; it is just continuous. Today I’m going way, way back in time. My whisky journey began as a random choice of spirits.

I wasn’t a drinker of alcoholic spirits. My wife suggested that I find something – anything – that I could sip on just to be social. There were two things I knew I didn’t care for: tequila and gin.

I was not too fond of the smell of either, let alone the taste. In a desire to appear sophisticated, I opted for Scotch. While I wanted to appear as such, my wallet had different ideas. As a friend described things, you have champagne tastes on a beer budget.

I don’t quite remember how the actual selection happened, but I think it was Mrs. Whiskeyfellow who handed me a 200ml bottle of Dewar’s White Label (since publishing this, Mrs. Whiskeyfellow says it was not her that got me to try Dewar’s).

I cycled between Dewar’s and Chivas Regal for about a year before I opted to delve deeper, and once I did that, I never tried Dewar’s White Label again; until today. Dewar’s began in 1846 when John Dewar and his two sons, who were wine merchants, purchased whiskies and blended them for their store brand.

In 1896, the Aberfeldy Distillery was built so the Dewars could make their own whisky. Dewar’s has changed hands a few times and is currently owned by Bacardi. Dewar’s White Label is still a blended Scotch, but it blends differently from most brands.

Instead of blending grains and malts and then aging the blended whisky, Dewar’s selects over 40 different mature single malts from around Scotland (with a large portion from Aberfeldy) and marries them to form its concoction.

White Label carries no age statement; it is chill-filtered and offers no mention of e150a coloring. You can find this pretty much everywhere from the corner convenience to a full-blown liquor store and should expect to pay about $24.

99 for a 750ml package. This will be an exciting review because I honestly can’t remember how it tasted. I’ll #DrinkCurious and find out what made me stick with it for such a long time. Appearance: In my Glencairn glass, Dewar’s White Label presented as the color of straw.

It formed a thicker rim and watery legs that raced down the wall of the glass. Nose: Orchard fruits such as peach, apple, and citrus greeted my nostrils. Beneath those were honey, vanilla, and a hint of ethanol.

When I pulled the air into my mouth, there was a blast of tangerine. Palate: This Scotch had a watery mouthfeel. Vanilla and honey were on the front, caramel was on the middle (although challenging to find), and the back had flavors of lemon curd combined with char.

Finish: The lemon and char remained through the finish and included vanilla, black pepper, and slightly bitter quality. It was medium in length. Bottle, Bar, or Bust: I have to be honest. I was a bit concerned I would hate this.

Dewar’s White Label isn’t the best whisky, it won’t blow your doors off, but it isn’t unpleasant. It is basic and unassuming. It was probably a good idea to use this as my toe-dip into Scotch all those years ago because there is enough to make things interesting without some of the overpowering qualities that can turn off novices.

It could almost be mistaken for a lower-end Irish whiskey on a different day, which is likely why I initially found this appealing. The price is undoubtedly easy. For those curious about Scotch, this will be a Bottle, and for the more experienced whisky drinker, a Bar.

Nose: Apple, banana, and a bit of honey. Sweet. The alcohol and oak together are a little pungent. With a little water, the pungent part seems to get solved, more pleasant. Palate: Very sweet, citrusy.

A flash of nutty note. Very weak oak tannins. No bite, gentle. With water, the oak is enhanced and comes to the front but gone straight away. Smoke becomes more sensible, too, but somehow stays longer.

Finish: Honey/sugary sweetness extends. Fresh apple. No bitterness. Comment: This scotch really reminds me of Maker’s Marks Straight Bourbon. The character is just sweet and mellow, and both of them have a little nutty note that is possibly from their grain.

I think this scotch is better not to be watered down. Water seems to bring back the oak and smoke but diminish the honey feature.

Nice nose, I actually sip this neat and with Coke it’s amazing. This is a really nice working man’s sipping scotch that doesn’t break the bank. I really wish total wines would price match the big red box store cause I would love to give them my money instead for their great values.

This scotch is pretty smooth for the price, no real alcohol burn going down, woody and slight citrus tones. it is very pale, not a whole lot of color. Overall a very good price conscious everyday sipper at the end of a long day with s nice cigar.

I always buy “premium” whiskey and very rarely did I buy flavored whiskey but this was recommended to me and I instantly went out and bought it. At first glance, the bottle is simple which is very appealing to me.

It smells great! On its own it’s pretty good however when used as a mixer magical things happen. First I put it in hot chocolate and it was so delicious. The delicious peanut butter flavor with the mild and gentle whiskey flavor was absolutely perfect in the hot chocolate.

Then I decided to make a “peanut buster parfait” style milk shake using this whiskey and oh my goodness, it was incredible! I don’t think this has an intense after burn like some whiskey and I think it has the perfect peanut butter flavor.

I haven’t tried any other peanut butter flavored alcohol but I don’t think I would find one that is as good or better than this one. I purchased it at the PA State Store so I paid more than average for it but I think it was worth every penny.

If you love peanut butter and are willing to drink whiskey, I definitely recommend trying this if you get the opportunity!!!!!.

‘Did an ‘A-B’ test with Screwball versus Sheep Dog last night. There was really no contest. Screwball has a nice distinct fresh peanut aroma. Upon first taste, you get a slightly sweet balance of flavors of peanut butter and high-quality whiskey.

On the finish, you get an incredibly clean and smooth mouthfeel with a little heat from the whiskey, but with a luxurious peanut aftertaste that lingers so beautifully. Sheep Dog has a somewhat weird indistinct aroma, with a hint of butterscotch, but nothing else.

The initial taste is rather pleasant, with a blending of butterscotch and mild peanut flavor. But upon the finish, the peanut flavor quickly fades away to a burning heat of a musty seemingly low-quality whiskey.

So unfortunately, Sheep Dog is not a good budget alternative for Screwball. Screwball is so good, it’s ridiculous.

I recently tried this with friends pool side in shots from a bottle that was kept in the freezer. My first impression was favorable and I’d look at it as more of a liqueur than a whiskey. Your palate is hit with not only peanut butter but hazelnut as well.

I immediately remarked how it reminded me of Frangelico. As a frozen shot, I thought it was fab, but could see limitations with a mixer, i. e. in a whiskey sour, it would probably be disastrous with the clash between combining the buttery, nutty, sweet, saltiness of the Screwball with tangy citrus of the sour mix.

I’d go so far as to say anything you’d put Frangelico into, you could sub with Screwball. I’d see this drizzled over vanilla ice cream or added to your morning cuppa coffee, or mixed in any cocktail you’d add 1/2&1/2 to, or added to the eggnog you buy in the carton at the store during the holidays, would have favorable results.

This would probably not impress a real connoisseur of whiskey but those who don’t care for the burn of whiskey or the taste of alcohol in general, would probably be all over this.

I like SOME of the fruit-flavored whiskeys, so I decided to try the Jameson Orange Irish Whiskey. It is really good. It has a strong orange zest smell when you open it, and you can definitely taste the orange in it, but it does not taste bitter or overly strong of orange zest or orange oil.

It is very pleasant and mixes well with unsweet iced tea for a really refreshing beverage. It does not taste like an artificial orange flavor.

This is a great example of perfect balance of orange flavor. I love Jameson and just how smooth it is but not a fan of flavored spirits but somehow wanted to try this! Great decision, it keeps that Jameson smoothness and the Orange is not obnoxious or too sweet.

Had this neat and that in itself is all you need to experience the true flavor of this one!.

I like this whiskey. It has an assertive orange flavor, and is good by itself or mixed into other drinks. But its “mouthfeel” is sharp and astringent; I don’t mind it, but others might prefer something more.

Burning chair !!! This is one smooth Bourbon !! I normally drink my bourbon mixed !! I’m not an experienced Bourbon man with that said this was the first I could drink on ice. !! I’m a fan!!! Delicious!!.

This is a very smooth bourboun. One of the best I’ve tried. If you buy one, you should buy 2, because you’ll finish it really fast. I couldn’t find it in my area but purched several bottles on a trip to Connecticut.

Sure wish I could get at the Total Wine in Laurel, MD.

Very good, could be better. If the price was under $30 ! Like $28. 99 ! And, they let it age a hair longer. It’s the same recipe/mashbill as the regular Maker’s Mark. 70% corn, 16% wheat & 14% barley.

BUT. regular Maker’s is about 5 to 6yrs. old. #46 is a little older. It is 6 yrs. from the top of the warehouse, then they put 10 French oak staves in the barrel and move the barrel to the basement for another 9 more weeks.

So it’s 6yrs. & 9 weeks old & 94 proof instead of the 90 proof regular Maker’s. They should let it stay for 6 months instead of the 9 was. Other than that, this is a very good wheat bourbon. Had some with shrimp scampi & street tacos.

Again, very good wheated bourbon. BUT. just a hair too pricey. The vanilla & caramel come thru more, and a creme brulee note, and thicker viscosity, than plain Maker’s !!.

We love Drnxmyth! I originally ordered the full bar for my fiancé’s birthday. He now is obsessed with them and less than a week later we had another shipment come in. The bottles are so nicely designed (although I prefer to have one on my own and not share) and they all taste great! Our favorite was the bourbon sour, least favorite was the spiced sangria.

However my favorite part of drnxmyth is their customer service. The company as a whole is nothing short of amazing quality from start to finish. We can’t wait for more drinks to come out!.

The idea is great and the drink itself was very good. But somehow I messed the directions to twist and mix, so just got the alcohol for the first few sips! My bad, I guess. My main issue with this service is the wasteful packaging.

The single drink came in a box that could have probably held 3 dozen drinks, but had huge blocks of Styrofoam and an ice pack. I think it could have come in a small box and then put in a refrigerator or poured over ice.

Hi! I would LOVE to have tried your Bourbon Sour, because I love all things bourbon! But that is not what I received. In its place, I received a Strawberry Margarita. This drink was ok, but since I typically don’t choose fruit-forward drinks, it is not what I would have chosen in a bar.

That said, it was a nice drink and I would recommend it to someone who does enjoy fruity drinks. :).

This is truly a 5 star peach flavored product from Jim Beam, and everyone that I speak with that has tried it just loves it. Folks that have shared it with me are surprised at the flavor of this one.

I’ve tried other brands, and nothing comes close to flavor or quality. Thank you Jim Beam, and thank you Total Wine and More for having the best value cost wise on this product.

This is my new go to drink! So refreshing and the peach flavour is not too over powering. Perfect with passionate fruit syrup and soda or lemonade for those who perhaps fancy something a little sweeter.

Great and easy drink to make at home and will be amazing in the summer.

Smoothest whiskey Jim Beam has released yet! I usually have a problem with sweet or fruity alcohol but Jim Beam never disappoints. I’m a fan of all 3 fruit flavors Jim Beam had but this one is the best!.
