20 Best Chasers For Tequila (2022 Updated)

I absolutely love having cocktails after work. Something that gives you a sensation, and I mean in the palate, not your head. For health reasons however, this has become something that is no longer a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

The process of cutting alcohol out of my diet has been hampered by the desire for a cocktail, balanced with a preference for no alcohol. Having a pleasant alternative which can allow me to get the feel of a drink in my palate without the kick is exactly what I have been seeking.

What made this perfect is that exact feel. The smell, taste, and effect in the palate and throat is just like a tequila. The peppery finish is very much like the burn of tequila as it goes down, and has that long term feel of ghost pepper.

(Not super hot, but lingers for a long time. ) Over the years, I have converted to frozen margaritas with low cal or no cal mixers. This is in part because of the lower total alcohol in the drink, for all the reasons mentioned above.

It mixes very well, and frankly, I will be mixing this into my frozen margaritas from now on. I mean think about it, a zero calorie frozen margarita? Goes a long way to keeping me in this category forever.

I ordered all the ritual spirits and this is the best one, unfortunately, because I would have preferred the whiskey being the best. Ritual uses capsicum to give the burn for those of us accustomed to the alcohol burn in the throat, which I appreciate.

Even though the capsicum is isolated, my brain still associates it with jalapeno kind of spice, and I think the reason it works best with tequila is because traditionally tequila is commonly paired with spicy ingredients in cocktails (spicy gin is a bit odd.

) In other words, if you don’t like a spicy margarita, you won’t like Ritual Tequila. I am a drinker, but I sometimes want more than just 2 drinks when I’m having fun, and after the second drink I can switch to this and feel like I’m still drinking.

Or, I can start with this and just mix in a half ounce or so of real tequila (they all blend very well with real spirits) and not worry about getting too buzzed if I have to drive or something. Don’t even think about trying any of these straight.

They work well shaken or blended with citrus and sweetener (I use liquid stevia or allulose syrup because I’m carb conscious) my only real complaint so far is the price combined with the fact that since it’s not really alcohol, i tend to drink it faster and drink more of it so I go through it too quickly.

Being a previous long time drinker I had strong skepticism when branching into the NA culture. This being said ; many folks I talked to had tried different things and most were unsatisfied with what they had tried.

Continued skepticism made me weary of spending the money only to pour down the drain. I came across an add searching for new blends that may put to rest the apprehension in trying NA liquor. My order was shipped in a timely manner and wa enthusiastic to give it a try.

After opening the carefully well packed bottle , I uncorked the bottles ( whiskey and tequila ) for a mell test. Kinda like moonshine scent is what hit me. For sure I had made a terrible mistake ordering this dreadful concoction.

A small taste test ( capful ) strengthened my previous skepticism but with high hopes I mixed a drink with what I would have and was pleasantly surprised. A somewhat spicy drink had become my favorite.

In the past few months I have made drinks (NA ) for friends who still drink and all were surprised that they were drinking Ritual. I myself enjoy the freedom to sit amongst my friends and enjoy a drink while having the comfort and safety to drive their ***** *** home.

I gave this glass as a Christmas present and absolutely adore the concept! I was very careful and only hand-washed, however, as lime juice dripped onto the side of the glass (while mixing drinks, nearly every one of which requires lime juice!) the lettering literally dripped blue down the side.

Now some of the recipes are illegible. Super disappointed! If you get this, I recommend not using any citrus around it as it destroys the entire purpose of the product.

This glass is really pretty neat. I was disappointed that the recipes are not from the bottom up, as you would mix them, but just written on the side. There are some good recipes though and I do like them a lot.

My only misgiving is that it’s not printed on the side as you would mix them. Otherwise, it’s a great conversation glass! They are probably 16oz deep.

I wasn’t expecting this too be real glass from usually plastic. So this is made real nice & heavy. I hope the white printing don’t fade off the well made glass.

These very mediocre quality drinks that are spreading everywhere and will leave you feeling horrible. Advertised as “made with real tequila”. Great so I should be excited it’s a step above rice wine.

So many venues are pushing this crap now its hard at some places to find a bartender to make you a nice drink. Stop the spread.

I bought this sampler pack after reading about them online. We liked the margarita and the paloma but found the tequila soda one awful and almost undrinkable.

Best I’ve had in a can! I bring these out on the lake with me and always split. They are higher priced but with that you get quality and higher alcohol content so I add a little soda or water with ice.

Too many additive sugars, too young of agave used, tastes extremely cheap and rushed thru distillation. The reason why it tastes “good, smooth, & easy to shoot” to many people here is because of their sweet tooth.

This has a lot of added sugars and sweeteners, which is why you get bad hangovers (same goes for casamigos, 818, etc). All those additives and shortcuts are the reason you hate yourself in the morning.

That’s a big problem with celebrity tequila, as well as the “bastardizing” of the ancestral art of agave distillation by any big name with $20k, but that’s a whole different conversation. Don’t buy this tequila unless you like sugar water and expect a hangover in the morning.

If that’s your vibe though, go for it. You can find way better quality at the same/less price in reputable brands like Fortaleza, Corcel, Cazadores, etc.

Wow, killer tequila!! Smooth, great nose, with an oak and vanilla whisper. If you are looking for a kill-it-with-lime-and-salt slam experience, keep buying the cheap and leave Teremana to those who sip and savor.

Have you ever taken Xanax and not remembered anything the next day. This tequila will not only make you not remember anything from the previous evening but will give you the worse migraine of your life for the entire next day.

At first I thought it was just a fluke that maybe I was just dehydrated or something. But no it’s happened every time I have drank it. Even if it’s just a shot or two. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and had it several times thinking it might have just been me.

It’s kinda crazy and scary. I honestly feel like it was poisoning me. And I love tequila is the bad thing. This tequila has made me second guess even drinking ANY tequila again.

One of the best repos on the market today. It’s hard to make a good one but Suerte it a home run! Very complex, very tasty, the cooked agave is sweet and delicious and is prominent. The finish can be on the spicy side.

There’s is a very slight alcohol taste that comes and goes, but it just adds to the complexity…Every sip seems different! I wouldn’t recommend to someone new with tequila. But, it’s very nice with fruit notes throughout’.

Outstanding product for the price. This should cost much more. Perfect balance of sweet and heat. Very very smooth. Do not hesitate on this one. Additive free or not (doesn’t say at Tequila Matchmaker), this is still a winner.

I’ve had a bottle of the blanco, reposado and anejo and I think I like the reposado best. Delicious tequila from start to finish. I’d choose this over many other expensive celebrity tequilas any day.

I drink lots of tequila from around Cazadores price range to a lower price spectrum. I’ve drank dozens of brands and types of quellia. This is the first tequilla ever I refused to take another sip of.

The initial sensation is one of an extremely harsh burn and feeling which leaves one almost in a full heaving reflex in one’s body attempting to distance itself from the ignorance of consuming this disgusting, extremely harsh, unpleasant liquid.

This product is unaccaruraly marketed by bacardi, to a niave, novice innocent tequila drinker. I strongly discourage anyone from drinking this swill.

I don’t usually purchase a lot of liquor for my home, but this was gifted to me for a birthday and well. it made the house party! It is incredibly smooth and super relaxed- was good with margaritas and for taking shots.

Overall, I recommend it- it is a dependable tequila on the lower end of the price scale. My favorite tequila on the lower end of the price scale. Super smooth. Great for mixing or alone. Great value overall for the size.

Packaging is neat and clean. Their dark tequila and silver are my go to when Hornitos or Jose are offered. Definitely recommend the product.

This is the kind of Tequila you can drink straight like a cognac. It’s smooth and with great balance taste. No more than three! if you are not a regular tequila drinker. One Tequila, two Tequilas, three Tequilas.

I was skeptical at first…. with the name thought it might be another gimmick. Not the case at all all! This is very smooth and delicious! One of my favs. Just don’t waste it on mixing it, On the rocks or straight is best.

Out of my collection, this is the worst. The overwhelming punch of alcohol over taste made me think this should have been a 20$ bottle. Lunazul Reposado is killing this as far as price and taste. Horrible neat, on rocks and mixed.

I bought this “E Cuarenta” by the Hip Hop rapper E-40 aka E Bellefonte aka Charlie Hustle aka Foty Water at Total Wine and More and it is priced perfect, but the taste and bite are expensive. It had just the right bit when you shoot it and smooth enough that it holds up taste when over I’ve.

It has the Sprinkle me Touch of.

I stumbled across this tequila on a recent in-store visit. Very similar profile to Clase Azul reposado – hints of vanilla, not much agave and crazy smooth – for half price. I’ve already purchased a second bottle!.

I found out that Dwayne Johnson “The Rock” owns this tequila so I went and purchased it today and after tasting it right out of the bottle I said out loud “Holy Crap ! this is good” ! Really Tasty alone and on the rocks.

OMG , its really good , full of flavor, not tarty like silver tequila that makes tour mouth pucker up lol. Its really smooth and full of flavor, its definitely a great drink all by itself, its too rich and heavy for a margarita so i’d go with his silver one for a margarita, enjoy this Great Sipping Anejo ! I like the bottle. It tasted amazing. All great flavors that it had. HOWEVER, the shipping was abysmal. My brother ordered 4 bottles as well and had shipped to him. The signature is required and fedex left both packages without any signatures.

I’ve had this issue with fedex numerous times and recommend you switch carriers. Overall my experience was GREAT with your company and I will likely order again. Dan.

The Teremana Anejo is tasty. It has a fuller flavor, more intense to the palate if you will. Has a stronger ‘tequila’ flavor followed by hints of vanilla and caramel. It’s nice, great sipper on rocks.

I am looking forward to being able to buy it once it’s here locally.

3🌟. The aroma is amazing. I mean amazing. I just bought my first bottle and cannot stop popping the cork for a whiff. I don’t shoot liquor nor enjoy my spirits neatly often. I am not an officinado by any means but two of my favorite reposados include Don Julio on the upper shelf end & Corralejo (triple distilled from Guanajuato).

I enjoy Palomas. Grapefruit soda, lime juice and tequila. The Lunazul wasn’t very palatable in my first couple but I noticed early on that if I leave it be ten minutes or so before consuming it’s more enjoyable.

I look forward to my first margaritas. No doubt Francisco Beckman has created a decent spirit but it is kinda complex. I will go above and beyond, throw this bottle in the freezer, pour myself a nicely chilled double and enjoy with half a lime and update if necessary.

For the price & aroma I give it a 3 but I encourage you to try a bottle for yourself in your preferred cocktail and update the tequila enthusiasts community.

Hi bartender and mixologist here. This one of the best tequilas I’ve had a pleasure working with and drinking. It’s a solid tequila to use in cocktails or by itself. But it especially works good in cocktails.

It’s the type of tequila where if you mix it it still pushes through the mixture but not so much where it’s overbearing but just right to where it’s noticeable ON TOP OF tasting the rest of the mixture.

It’s super good super great, and such an affordable price too. I wouldn’t pay attention to the 1 star reviews they don’t know what they’re talking about lol.

Mineral water from the volcano is predominant and actually quite nice. Unfortunately the bottle became harsh after being open for a week or so and now im avoiding it. I loved this at first but Probably wont purchase again.

If you dont want to spend big money on overhyped brands, i would suggest Arette, Olmeca Altos, or this.

Ok peep the scene. it’s wine tasting at ABC liquor store, and from across the room I see this bottle on a table. I walk over to the bottle. I mean the lovely person serving up shots. Initially the name kinda caught me off guard, and I laughed, GTFOOH was my first thought.

After my first shot I was suspicious because this tequila was way too smooth. I think my exact words were “ Damn Cabo Wabo hit me again!” And it did. Needless to say I bought a bottle! Oh yeah, it was so smooth.

I think I liked this brand a bit too much. Did I mention how smooth this tequila is?? But I am compelled to also say Drink responsibility!.

This is NOT the tequila sammy 1st produced. It used to be the 3rd best in the world. Since he sold it to gruppo bros for $80 million. The new owners switched the Manufacturer. check old vs new nom# You could drink the old cabo all night and just great in the morning Now its a bottom shelf bottle of Headache.

A better alternative is the RUDO line.

Cabo Wabo Blanco is my favorite tequila. I love that you can taste the agave in the background of it. It does not overpower it, however it blends with it. I do not like the taste of alcohol and this really is a good drink.

I know you can get cheaper tequilas than this one, however I do not believe they taste as good. This one is worth the price.

I heard that this was the favorite tequila in Mexico, that its buttery flavor is smooth and delicious. Instantly I thought tequila and delicious in the same sentence, really. Most tequila to me for the past 50 years without mentioning all the top brands that advertise how smooth or whatever tasted like an old wore leather boot to me.

Then I saw this on sale in a store for under 20 bucks and its was from Jalisco so I gave it a try and was blown away by the taste and how buttery smooth it was. For me this is it, I like to mix the reposado with the blanco to get the best of both.

This is now the tequila for me and I hope that they don’t raise the price because its so tasty good.

I hated tequila until I tried Cazadores. Some tequilas have a weird aftertaste, smell horrible, and give you that classic burn in your throat. This tequila is smooth and has a really clean taste to it.

If you like unaged tequila, this is the one for you. Blanco is also a great price and highly rated.

i’ve recently been exploring my tequila options and have yet to take a shot that literally made me gag while drinking. until now. not only did it take a total of 4 tries to finish 1 shot, but i was actively trying to keep myself from puking.

Typically i take my tequila shots with no salt and occasionally no lime, but this one. oh my gosh, ended up chugging dr. pepper in between every attempt at this one single shot. I’ll stick with Patron, Cazadores, and Don Juilo.

don’t even waste your money on this mess. there are no words to describe this tequila other than absolutely disgusting.

We are looking for a replacement for Casamigos Anejo, which has been unavailable for months. The 1800 Añejo is more harsh and there is a decent finish with a little caramel, but not much. It is definitely better than 3 Amigos and Siete Leguas.

This can be considered a sipping tequila, but it’s not a favorite. It would be great for margaritas although expensive.

Made from 100% Weber blue agave aged for 8-12 years and harvested at their peak the liquid is double distilled, and a special selection of white tequilas is blended together for added complexity and character.

The clean, balanced taste with hints of sweet fruit and pepper is perfect sipped neat, on the rocks, as a shot or in a cocktail. I recommend it, It is a party must.

Bought it for the first time at a supermarket (Total Wine has the best price available!) because Patron was sold out. Clean and delightful af. Better than Patron silver!! This is our favorite tequila now.

No salt/lime needed. We joked about how “e cuarenta” translated literally to “e forty” and then saw later that two are related.

I usually by Blanco to mix with. But this is so good on its own it will be a sipping tequila. Very will balanced spirit. A nice sweet agave forward nose with a hint of alcohol. The pallet is sweet and herbaceous with perfect pepper end.

Purchased one bottle on Thursday just to try it out then got another Saturday….. Holiday weekend dont judge lol

Wanted a smooth tequila for jalapeño skinny margaritas and stumbled upon this. Wasn’t expecting much because of the low price but boy was I wrong!!!!!! This is smooth and wonderful. You won’t be disappointed.

I think this tequila is a little secret that not many people want to share.

There is plenty of fruity and floral sweetness to this tequila’s body; it won’t leave you foggy-headed the next morning either. It is smooth enough to keep shots pleasant, and asserts itself well when used for Margaritas.

Even at this price point, it is a 100% agave product. I much prefer this tequila over pricier options such as Agavales and Cazadores.

It was on sale plus there was a coupon and I thought, what do I have to lose… well, it may not have cost very much, but it’s obvious why. It has a very weak tequila taste and a prominent almost rubbing alcohol aftertaste.

The old adage is true, you get what you pay for.

I have tried patron, Don Julio, el padrino, 1800, and volcan di mi terrà cristalino. Let me tell you this is the absolute best out there. Worth every penny. It hits the nose with sweet agave, slight vanilla and barrel.

But goes down so smooth. I mean you wouldn’t even know there was alcohol in this I have no idea how they achieved this. The finish is honey and vanilla but not too sweet. You could literally gulp down an entire glass it goes down like water.

Zero additives. I haven’t tried the three digit tequilas but really how can it get better than this? No wonder it’s always sold out everywhere. Reddit is on fire with this one and I can see why. I put one round ice cube but this one can be enjoyed neat.

Wow just wow. Sucks because it’s 79 bucks lol. Worth EVERY PENNY. If you can get it enjoy.

Hard to obtain for a reason. This stuff is smooth! Tasty too! No additives. When offered to drinking partners, they thought I had cut it with water that it was so smooth. Then they would stare at the cup , let the flavor unfold and claim it to be at the top of their lists for tequilas.

The taste of agave develops with a balance of spice, nut, and a slight citrus. A very miniscule bite. This one’s best enjoyed neat for me. On the rocks won’t hurt, but I don’t recommend that. Definitely give this one a try at least!.

I’ve been drinking the Repo, and blanco for several months and the much anticipated Anejo finally hit my local market. If you don’t know the brand, they are not new. Fortaleza (branded under Los Abuelos in MX) is one of a handful of distilleries that still crushes the agave with the Tahona stone.

imo, that old school extraction method alone imparts a unique taste on the juice. Secondly, Anejos can be a little tricky as they have more barrel time than a reposado. Tequila lovers typically like the agave influence because that’s what makes tequila unique.

Too much barrel influence and some tequila connoisseurs think you may as well be drinking bourbon. Fortaleza really knows the art of balancing the barrel flavors while maintaining a healthy presence the agave.

This Anejo is on the pricey side, but it’s one of the best I’ve had including others that cost a lot more. the agave shines through on the nose and palette but also hints of vanilla, and caramel from the barrel.

Like any good tequila it has a little spice heat, but it’s an ultra smooth sipper neat, little to no alcohol burn, and zero additives. I personally would never mix this one. If you can find it, but two bottles!.

When I first tried this tequila a year or more ago it was excellent — one of the best ever. My two recent purchases however have been terrible. Silver and Repo both taste overly smoky and much harsher than a bad mezcal.

I enjoy agave forward tequila. But this is borderline garbage now. I don’t know what they did. But something has changed. What was one of the best tequilas out there is now one of the worst. $120 down the drain as far as I’m concerned.

I was hoping for more. This is a very simple Agave forward tequila that presents nothing remarkable and is easily forgettable. Very little flavor picked up from the barrel. The only use at our house will be to educate novices that have an interest in learning about tequila.

After having tried Mi Familia extra anejo Don Julio 70th anniversary Avion, Patron, Herra, etc. , I can say that this has lived up to its strong recommendation. Smooth, buttery, delicious, no burn. One of the best.

Will be buying this again, and again, and again…. you get the point.

This is the BEST, refreshing, alcohol drink EVER. Drink this ice cold on any given day. The taste is not strong at all. It honestly reminds me of a which is also a favorite of mine! These run about $3/can, however, totally worth it! – they have ones with different options of alcohol as well.

(For ex. Vodka).

This is my go to summer drink! It’s so light and refreshing. It reminds me of a margarita. With two shots in every can you don’t need to drink a ton to have a good time. I’ve never had a hangover with these either.

Delicious! It was challenging to find the calorie count since there’s no nutrition label but the drink itself is really good. Add extra lime to take it to the next level!

Tequila and I have a difficult relationship. I’ve always wanted to like it, and will smash a cheeky frozen marg or two, but no more than two and never give me shots! I most definitely cannot be held responsible for anything when tequila is involved, and I always regret my choices the next day.

Until I found Altos. So smooth, so delicious. Dare I say it, I’ll even sip it neat! The best tequila I’ve ever tasted, and without the next day regret. You’re getting a better product (in my opinion) than Patron, for a significantly lower price.

Tequila and I are on better terms nowadays, and I have Altos to thank for that.

I am a tequila philistine, could not name one brand of tequila other then “the one with the hat”, but this tequila is worlds apart from what would have had as a slammer in a bar. It is beautifully clear, smooth and clean tasting tequila.

Not sure what Agave is but I love the taste. There is that strong tequila kick and it can be drank neat, but I’ve been drinking it with grapefruit juice and it tastes fantastic.

I have never understood the fascination of shots! I prefer to sip and enjoy my spirits! This one comes up trumps, its smooth and very drinkable. We bought it for a cocktail party we were hosting, a fun evening with friends.

It made a great Margarita, but my sunrise was more of a sunset!! The only issue was the bottle wasn’t big enough!! Will definitely buy again.
