I seen the other review and felt compelled to write my own. This is a great stereo. You have to take into consideration that low price will come with some drawbacks. But upon unboxing the installation was clean and effortless.

The 200 watt 50×4 power output is more than capable of driving aftermarket speakers. Sound is crisp and clear. The interface is as barebones as it can get. Bluetooth work immediately and the sound of calls and streaming was clear.

Highly recommend to give this unit a try! I am glad I did!.

This Stereo is exact fit for many vehicles and must be one of the better value purchases in the market. Highly recommend. My one suggestion for other people would be to find pre-assembles connctions for their particular car or truck.

Following a wire diagram is simple, but can be frustrating for consumers not suited to proper wiring of a car or truck.

I bought this head unit because it was a lot of features you were getting for an awesome price. Sound quality and EQ are the best part about this head unit. It connects very fast via Bluetooth and the video quality on the h/u are great quality.

The things that aren’t the best are the phone call quality and connection. When a phone call comes in or is sent out it will connect the call 90% of the time, 10% of the time it will not connect and I will have to re-dial or answer on my phone itself.

After the call ends if I am listening to music through Bluetooth the music takes 2-4min to re-connect and even then I sometimes have to press play on my phone before it starts to play again. Another con is the volume dial is very small and depending on how the dash kit sits it is a pain to get to, I had to purchase a remote on amazon to make it easier.

Also. if you add a backup camera to this unit be prepared to have a 1-2 second pause (blank screen) while it notifies you to “look at your surroundings before backing up”, this only happens if your h/u had just started with the vehicle.

This message and pause do not come up if your h/u has been on for more than 5min. It is a nice h/u but it is frustrating when you need to make a call and it wont connect and your music wont re-connect after you have completed a call.

Some are okay with these issues but it sucks when you are driving and can’t really mess with anything. Hope things work out better for you!.

I have two of these models, one in a 2000 Silverado (New Style-Modification is needed) and one in a 2004 Tahoe. The radio’s output alone @ 22 RMS per channel (4-channels), provides for excellent sound quality.

However, I currently have these bad boy paired with a Kenwood Mono Amp and a Kenwood 4 Channel Amp, which works seamlessly using the Co-Axial outputs on the back of the radio (the red and white cables).

In regards to user interface, this radio is excellent for personalization (Custom Screen Savers, Colors, Sequences), as well as fine tuning sound quality. The EQ is the key to a perfect sound, and this Kenwood Radio makes it easy and efficient dialing in that perfect sound.

It’s also worth noting that this radio has a lot of good sound effect options (Everything from Independent Channel Timing, Realizers, Stage EQ, Vehicle Presets, Gain Sensitivity, Loudness, Bass Boost, Drive EQ, Listening Position Adjustment, High & Low Pass Filter, Speaker Size Selection, Speaker X’Over and a few others useful features.

) In addition, this radio comes ready for a back-up camera (it does not include the camera however), as well as steering wheel control inputs (You will need a vehicle specific adapter). The DVD player E-Brake wire can be simply grounded to any metal on the vehicle, effectively bypassing the useless feature, allowing you and your passengers to enjoy a DVD on the road.

Its does not play Blue-Ray 🙁 You can also buy a wire adapter allowing you to connect and project your phone screen to the radio. (Look up Screen Share on Kenwood Radio, or something like that, Its basically screen share, however touching the radio touchscreen will not control your phone, yet in doing this you can watch YouTube, Netflix, literally anything that your phone or device can play.

) In Conclusion, I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a Clean, Effective, and Proven Touchscreen Radio. If you find yourself having a hard time setting up, there are very informative How Too’s on YouTube for this and many other Radios.

I installed this in my 2003 Xterra about a week a ago and so far am very pleased with it. I am absolutely loving the volume knob. This unit is replacing an ancient Pioneer AVH-P800BH. So far the sound quality even without the EQ and time alignment engaged is much improved.

I am still running the same external 4 channel amplifier. (miss the removable screen from Pioneer though) Kenwood unit is easy to use, and setup. It pairs automatically and reliably to my iPhone 12 after first initial setup.

Bluetooth audio quality is actually acceptable. Cd playback and lossless files played with a richer sound, although I have only used a small 1gb flash drive, so I cannot comment on access times on larger drives.

Seems to image way better than Pioneer even without T/A. Screen is a little dim, but does allow some adjustment in the sub menus. I have found it livable, but I mostly select a playlist and just relax and drive.

If you fiddle with your radio a lot or even use it to look at movies while parked, I could see it being a major pain. Still giving a 5 star, because the sound is just that sweet! This is incredibly easy to operate, has excellent source selection options with amazing sound control flexibility (including ALL of Loudness, Bass Boost and even Range options, while the Equalizer can be also be tailored for each input).

I really like the capability to still use CDs/DVDs but really love the upfront USB input. The Aux jack is in the rear, but I simply added an extension cable to get Aux upfront. Audio is flawless and clear, zero-distortion I could find.

I would highly recommend this (and discount any other’s negative comments I’ve seen regarding the display interface). Perfect.

This unit is amazing for it’s price everything is clean and sleek looking. There are a lot of apps that come preinstalled, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Pandora, etc. It also has a lot of great features such as an easy to adjust EQ with several features within it.

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonably priced unit with great quality.

decent for the price. some of the described features ARE NOT accurate, as in it does not have a rear usb, it does not have a 8 gig card reader slot and it is very picky on what video files it will play it says it will play right on the box that it will play mpeg-1 and mpeg-2 but so far only original dvds will work with it.

all and all the interface for me was messy and a little confusing even after going over the manual a few times.

Boss has never let me down. Great sound and great connectivity. Android auto works flawlessly. I haven’t tried the iPhone connection on my other phone yet. The sound is amazing at 85×4 watts. The touchscreen is bright and colorful.

The camera is also great. Wonderful built in EQ.

I have always been looking for a bigger screen for my truck. Came across this unit and the installation was quite smooth. Took me an hour to put in my 2016 Ford. The touch screen itself is really responsive to every commend.

Usually you need to pay >$500 for such quality. But this BOSS unit works like a charm with really budget friendly price.

The unit was installed in a 2006 Ford Econoline even after been told by numerous professional installers that it could not be done. Well, its done. The touch screen works great. The backup camera works great.

The unit was on sale at the time. Good price for a great product.

This unit comes with detailed install instructions which was surprising. That actual face plate is also not too bad given the age of gloss black plastic we live in for some reason, unfortunately it suffers from this, however the buttons don’t have that cheap rattle and feel reasonable quality.

The internal amp is sufficient and powers the stock speakers fine.

Bought this unit to replace a Clarion head unit that came installed in our caravan that failed after 7 months. Easy to install, easy to set up and operate. Has a 3 year warranty should I need it which I doubt I will if its as good as all my other Sony gear, my only small grip is the lights on the display are on even when the unit is turned off – soft off.

The lights can be turned off fully – hard off, but unfortunately the clock display is also turned off. I can live with that, at least it has a clock and a cd player for us older generation.

SONY MEX-N5300BT: It is a nice upgrade if you drive a 20 year old car like me. Reasonable sound quality, excellent reception, choice of colors, display is bright enough for daytime and can dim at night w/ programmable timer if you wish.

Bluetooth was easy to set up with Iphone. It has nice short pauses between button presses, for example: when changing stations (some are sooo slow). It’s not designed to rock the neighborhood but it will do the job of providing music while driving.

I ordered this unit and was disappointed when it showed up that the box for the unit was damaged, yet had a huge label stuck to it that said something about the box being damaged but the unit okay as it was checked by technicians.

Being an expert at installing car stereos in my vehicles, I gave it a very close inspection. It appeared to not be a return and resale. However, given the damage to the product box, it should have disclosed and been offered at a discount.

Had this not been for myself and instead a gift for someone, I would have returned it because it was not presentable, at all. Now, onto the unit itself. SiriusXM appears to be 2. 0 only, so no traffic or sports updates and no Tune Start either – despite seeing somewhere it will do it.

Ive seen it advertised for this, but it doesnt have it. The first pic of the radio on the site shows a screen that I believe is for another radio, not this one. In any case, the sound is good. You can program 6 AM stations and 12 FM stations.

You can only program 6 SiriusXM stations (if you have the tuner), which I find to be a shortcoming of the radio. CarPlay works without a terrible echo on the receivers end like a Kenwood DMX4707S I had would do (which is why I replaced it).

I experienced issues with a Pioneer DMH-C2550NEX I returned to another seller. That one would just randomly turn itself off and then on again, over and over while driving. And, it is better than the Kenwood DMX4707S that I initially replaced with the Pioneer and then this Alpine.

Firmware updates are bad because one of the steps after updating the firmware is resetting to factory settings, which, of course, removes all your settings for sounds, station memory, etc. This is a huge shortfall of the OS programmers at Alpine.

Would I buy this again? No. I would not because I was expecting it to be SiriusXM 3. 0. It is not a big deal to most, but, to me, it is something I wanted to have. For an old 2006 car this is in with over 200,000 miles on the odometer, Ill live with it – hopefully the car will last another 3 years.

I have always been a big ALPINE fan. I knew I wanted to replace my Alpine cde175bt unit for a Alpine touchscreen. The iLX – 407 is the newest model. So it was a top canidate. I played with the idea of getting another name brand unit but knew I wouldn’t be happy unless it was an /////ALPINE, So I pulled the trigger and got it.

I like that the screen is glass not plastic like seen on other units from other manafactuers. I like Apple Car Play, works great and was one of the must have features when I was shopping. I like the fact that I can move around the icons and customize the screen to suit me.

I like that this unit has no buttons and is true to size at 7” ofcourse I needed 3 pairs of RCA inputs for my 4ch. Amp and mono block sub amp. So this was nice. I also wanted to mirror my iphone’s display onto the screen so having HDMI is a nice feature.

I plug in my HDMI cable {sold separately) into an APPLE HDMI adapter to lightning dongle and press HDMI on my Alpine screen and bam I’m watching youtube on my screen. I like the 5 band EQ and I’m not even gonna lie I wish it had a 13 band EQ.

But the built in x – over is a great feature. I installed a E brake bypass not having done so would be so phony. This is a great stereo I wish I could give it 6 stars. Wish it could play Cd’s and dvd’s but it is what it is.

I was gonna get a ilx -650 but seen this came out and wanted the latest model.

Let’s itemize this. o No cutting required. I installed this in an apartment parking lot away from home and my shop. I am not an experienced mechanic or electrician. o The cables are a *tight* fit in the dash.

There are a lot of options on the various wiring harness cables, most of which I don’t need. I had to cram them in the back wherever they could fit. o I used to have Sirius XM radio. Unless I buy another adapter, I no longer have it.

This radio is not compatible with the existing XM tuner. o You need to hook the new control module up to a laptop to program it through a website. That was my longest delay in installation. It took a while to get the website to install the firmware.

o The cooling fan runs for a couple of minutes after you turn off the vehicle. Not a problem, but it’s different from the stock head unit. o This radio comes with an external GPS antenna and external microphone.

I don’t know how much the GPS antenna helps; I didn’t have a problem with GPS reception on my cell phone before now. Regarding the microphone, people on the other end of my phone calls say that the audio is a little clearer, but fainter.

The included instructions say to mount the microphone behind the mirror, but the included clip doesn’t really work well. The microphone is directional, and the clip does a poor job at aiming it toward then driver.

o I’ve had problems with Android Auto. Occasionally and without any obvious trigger, the Android Auto screen is blank and unresponsive. Once this event triggers, you can’t use the phone through that screen, and you can’t go back to Bluetooth.

The Bluetooth screen says you can’t use it when Android Auto is in play. I have to turn the vehicle off and walk away for a while to reset the problem. This might only be a problem with my unit, but I’m not replacing it with a new unit.

This one was tight enough to install. o I got to keep my steering wheel controls. This was a large part of my decision to purchase this unit. o I installed the OBD connector. It’s neat to see the vehicle information on the dash.

o A lot of the setup menus are hidden behind parking brake protection. You have to set the brake, release it, then set it again in order to access the menus. Overall? This is better than the factory unit.

It’s worth it to get rid of the audio lag the original unit had.

I bought this unit so I could use Apple CarPlay for traveling in my GMC Yukon! And I must say I was very impressed with the quality of this product and its display. It’s touchscreen is flawless the display is beautiful, and it’s easy to follow instructions made installation a breeze! I’d highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a budget type upgrade.

The Dual DCPA701 receiver is a great product. Car play works great with it. The bluetooth works as it should for wireless streaming. It actually made my stock speakers sound great! (which they did not with the factory stereo).

All in all I highly recommend.

It was super easy just 3 main cords to worry about and I simply matched which wires were connected on my old unit. There was some maneuvering I had to do with the final placement but no biggie. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking to upgrade their current model.

I LOVE THIS STEREO! I have been using dual for a while now and started with their $30 Single Din Bluetooth stereo then to their XVM279BT (Basic Touchscreen with no car play or maps) and then to this one.

Car Play is Seemless and the screen looks great. I do this low voltage stuff for a living. People having issues with it shutting off on bumps or heat, make sure to use butt splices or heat shrink. it will allow u to keep a solid connection and protect agianst heat.

Also, when u install the camera, make sure to ground it to ur brake light ground that goes to your car NOT the ground to the stereo, that is only for your SUB ground or external speaker. The issue is not the stereo its the people trying to use two ground lines to one smaller gauge line.

U can fix this by running a 14AWG ground line to like a random bolt on ur frame if u can find the Brake light ground point. But I love the advanced EQ customization as well as the higher power output and sensitivity, it allows me to buy cheaper speakers (Schoshe to be specific) and tune them to sound exactly if not better then middle range kenwoods or sonys.

I like this thing. It’s built solid and it sounds. The only thing I can complain about is them not having a micro sd slot or another usb port. I like running a microsd or a usb with all my music on it.

The file system is easy to navigate, blue tooth works great as well. It rembers me and connects automatically when I start the car. I tried a atoto unit and the screen on this unit is way better and you can actually dim it alot which is the main reason I bought this.

Liking this thing so far. Duel if you read these add another use snd a micro usb port!.

The product itself has been working very well. The parking brake sequence to get into the settings mode is a bit tedious, but I don’t go into that mode very often. I have occasional issues where my phone won’t connect to the Bluetooth, but I have a feeling that is the phone and not this unit.

I pretty much exclusively use Bluetooth and Android Auto. I wish the clock on the radio would sync with the time on my phone when it is hooked up. Android Auto is quite handy and I don’t want another vehicle without it.

The one downside is that it changed the chime in my truck, that apparently goes through the radio. It’s slightly more obnoxious that the OEM tone, but nothing that I haven’t gotten used to. Sound quality is as good as the OEM unit, maybe a touch better.

But it’s all still OEM speakers so there’s probably room for improvement. I paid $300 for this unit. Apparently the cost has gone up to $550. At that price, I wouldn’t have bought it. There are plenty of options closer to the $300 price point that would be adequate.

Bought this back when it was cheaper, and this was a banger of a deal. If you want great, clean audio output with a fine adjustability with no extra hoo-hah, this is the one. I have bought two of these for personal use and unless they come out with a newer model, will keep buying these.

I grew up back in the day where you had to spend over a grand to get this quality. Little to no unwanted noise on max volume. Very responsive touch interface. Quick connection every time. And a detailed EQ.

Installed on a 2007 4Runner and 2014 Rogue. Buy this.

Excellent head unit. Replaced stock unit in a 2011 civic. Perfect fit with the new double din dash plate (bought separately). Apple car play is awesome. completely syncs just about everything with an Iphone.

Have not tried android but assume it’s the same. I have this powering a 2200w complete system. Once in a blue moon, it does clip, I think it’s from heat because I have the alpine KTP-445U mounted behind it but it rarely happens, only when I’m really pushing it for long extended periods.

There’s a TON of x-over/eq settings, but you don’t get to access them unless car is in park and e-brake is on. But there’s a TON. (I use none of them, all filtering is done at the amp level). I do hate that you can’t customize the wallpaper.

I think that would have been a great feature to add. Also, would have been great if it streamed youtube videos. I get it. it’s a safety feature. but even in park with e-brake on. you cannot stream video to it.

BUT. you can put video onto a USB stick and with the car in park and ebrake on, you can view videos on said USB stick. Other than that. nice crisp, clear head unit. exactly what you’d expect from Alpine.

I install it and doesn’t work. One day work and another is off. Why? I don’t know but is not good for me.

Great car audio system for the price. Can’t beat it. Great sound, BT and lots of options for streaming music.

This is a fantastic value! The head unit is nothing amazing, the speakers are not amazing, but this is an amazing value! The 5. 25″ speakers in my 2003 Hyundai Accent were all rotted and making horrible noise that no longer resembled music.

The cassette player no longer played tapes and wouldn’t recognize the cassette-to-3. 5mm adapter for me to listen to a phone. I looked for speakers and was not loving the idea of spending $25 per pair of speakers and another $25 for a basic Bluetooth streaming device, so I was pretty amazed when I saw this deal with 4 speakers and a Bluetooth head unit for only $30! I thought it must be a mistake.

Yes, this Bluetooth head unit is only an inch or 2 deep and isn’t going to mount the same as a regular stereo. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover because it is so lightweight, I was able to mount it using the factory mounts and plastic zipties and it feels more secure than the factory stereo! The speakers are technically 6.

5″ in diameter, but they have holes that ALMOST align to 5. 25, so they can fit in some locations that are sized for 5. 25″ speakers (but you might have to use smaller screws and angle them). I did have to snip some plastic from the mounts on my Accent to get them to fit, and used some foam window sealing tape from Walmart to fill any gaps, but they do fit.

and sound SO MUCH BETTER than those worn out factory speakers. If you have a lousy factory stereo and just want to stream music from your phone, this is a very cost-effective solution! It doesn’t include any speaker wire if you are trying to add a stereo to a vehicie that didn’t previously have one.

Don’t try to splice the factory wire harnes, just buy one from Scosche or Metra or one of those other companies – then you just have to match up the colors and wire them up. This device doesn’t use the dimmer control on my car, and there is no factory amplifier or power antenna, so those three wires aren’t connected to anything, just capped them off.

This unit is pretty darn good considering the price. I installed it in my Ranger since the unit in there took a dump and for the money I sure can’t complain. I wish it had a cd player but with radio the way it is now days one can do without it pretty easy and if you don’t have the money to pay for one with a cd player this unit is the perfect choice.

The speakers are not overly large and work very nice, the sound is crisp and clean. It’s easy to pair to your phone if that is what you would like and being able to hear calls through the speakers because of blue tooth is great.

I would definitely recommend this it works great for what I need it for. Installation is about the normal time with these units. about 2 hours unless your a professional. then you might get it done quicker.

installed pioneer DEH X8800 BHS unit in a 94 exteded cab ranger utilizing fords 2 speaker front / 2 speaker rear (no amp / sub woofer etc. ) set up. nice looking detachable unit. couldn’t find a reason for connecting up the rear usb.

exceptional sound; cool sound shaping capability / time alignment features. only noticeable things i could find was 1 zero shaping of the fader or balance (probably doesn’t need to be played with if auto eq is utilized; i set it up and use it) 2 the display brightness (can only be adjusted when the headlights are off but not brightened when the headlights are on (really dims down when lights on).

downloaded pioneer arc app (smart phone control of receiver) to an android phone (not enough time to fully explore it however). hands free voice command works through via your phone. streamed music well from our samsung note 5.

hd radio sounds so much better, would love to test hear some radio say in a large metro area. learning curve on operating the head unit though. the mc (master control) knob has functions that differ when unit is on and off.

upgraded ver 838 firmware (download off pioneers website) myself. upgrade went well but erases everything and resets back to new (save your self a bunch of time and agravation; do the upgrade first before setting and storing all your presets).

I bought this for my 1999 jeep grand cherokee. I have been a pioneer fan ever since my first “dolphin deck”. This unit is no exception! 2 minor issues I have had. 1st being screen is pretty dim during the day.

2nd is sometime when attaching the faceplate it registers my ipod plugged into usb but then does not play. Have had to remove faceplate a few times and reapply to get it to enable the ipod. Maybe a firmware issue.

But other then that I am still pretty happy with the unit so far!.

Very nice unit. Had a little trouble at first but figured it out!

The sound is a bit muffled, but can’t beat the price. Installation was easy – it is similar to other systems like Pyle. The buttons are big and easy to use while driving. Uncomplicated and has all the basic functions.

The unit itself is nicely designed and works well with Halfords series of surrounds which leaves the display looking like it’s part of the original dash. Apple car play and android mirroring work well and you’ll never need a new TomTom because both Apple Maps and Google Maps integrate smoothly.

The hands free function gives a crisp clean voice in both directions thanks to a very nice microphone and noise cancellation that completely negates the sounds of the engine and road for anyone on the other end of the line.

DAB radio makes the very best of a very low bitrate service and where BBC stations use higher rates it really sounds very acceptable. On a VW Golf/Passat you’ll need the VW wiring loom which gives all the speaker connections and a constant 12v input behind the radio but you will need to find a switched ACC voltage from the fuse panel to make it work.

I’ve been unable to make the dimming work as in the VW all the lighting circuits use pulse wave voltages and won’t trigger the sensor. I’m seriously considering the CAN bus adaptor so all features work but it adds a lot of cost to the installation.

All in all a great bit of kit. Very happy with it.

I bought two of these for on the advice of Halfords in store staff. I was told that the screen was way better than the sony I was also looking at. I’m not impressed. The screens are not very sharp – there is no excuse for this these days.

It is also not very responsive and can take multiple presses to provide function – not what you want in an in-car product. There are also very few settings to configure in terms of how the unit operates and audio output.

The buttons on the left hand side are fiddly. The volume requires multipe presses to adjust – there is no press and hold or a mute. It’s a pain in the whatsit. Now, this may be the case with other brands/models too, I don’t know, but the unit doesn’t hold power when cranking the engine, when moving the key from accessory position to start – it cuts out, which will interrupt any calls you’re making while parked up and also interrupts the start up procedure of the unit which it doesn’t seem to like.

Other than that the audio is quality is reasonable and the mic works well. If I had my time over I’d look at the higher up models but theyr’e fitted now so I’ll live with them.

I chose to exchange my old car stereo (SPH-DA230DAB) for this, the new 160 model, when I discovered there was a fault with my interface buttons – thankfully still just about within the 12 month warranty period.

So in exchange, I took the SPH-DA160DAB as it’s replacement. And what a downgrade this stereo seems! First of all, the bleep is the most annoying noise known to man, thankfully I managed to find the button to switch the bleep off after frantically searching for the option to turn the bleep off, which for some reason was not in the volume subsection of the settings? Secondly, it just feels real cheap when using.

Transitioning from one page to the next, it seems laggy, and overall just cheap. Using Apple CarPlay, there is no immediate option to turn Siri’s voice down it seems, like the DA-230 had. When pressing either volume button, there was an option to turn both the General Volume (can’t remember the name specifically) and “Guidance”.

Instead, I find myself having to go through the volume settings, much to my annoyance. And I’ve found all these extremely annoying faults within the first 30mins of plugging it in! So I’m bound to find more annoying faults, I’m certain.

Overall, I’m not happy with this at all. If I had known how poor this was when I was looking to exchange, I would’ve happily kept my faulty head unit, and persevered with the faulty, jumbled up buttons, to be brutally honest.

Does not do what is says it will do. The ad clearly states this will “retain steering wheel controls and onstarâ€. It does not. The stereo itself is nice but the installation kit/witing harness foes not include the additional modules needed for these functions.

I had to go out and spend another $40 just for the steering wheel controls to work. Also, the wiring harness they sent would need to be repinned in order to line up with my vehicles factory wiring. (The listing clearly shows my year/make and model vehicle in thei compatibility list.

I will be contacting the seller for reimbursement. Beware of these issues if you decide to buy.

I bought this stereo a couple months ago for my 2012 F150 and its been a pretty good unit so far. Sound is good! Hooked up 2 polk audio amps and 2 polk audio 8” subs off it and its puts out some good sound and bass.

My only issue is it takes abit for the bluetooth to connect to my iphone for music playback, other then that I’m pretty happy with it.

The price was great! But went up after a little demand. !?.

Positives: has great sound, all the bells and whistles to get the exact sound you want with the car you have Negatives: has many technical issues. Out of the box, you’ll notice the clock is a real problem.

Setting it up was a pain, and after that it runs about a minute fast every 5 days. You’ll constantly be resetting it until you do a firmware update. The settings and Android auto are also not easy to navigate.

It will take weeks to fully master the radio. After owning it for about 9 months, the top lines of the receiver stopped responding on the screen. After a factory reset, if the screen doesn’t turn to normal, the unit becomes unusable as you’ll need to tap the finish button at the top to continue using it.

Customer service is not hard to get ahold of, but their solution is only that, and you’ll need to ship your unit to a service center.

I found this system to be pretty decent overall, but with a few drawbacks. First, I highly recommend getting a system with actual buttons for volume control. The touch screen just doesn’t work well for this purpose.

When using a thumbdrive this JVC reads a lot of formats, and generally works pretty well, but navigating the contents leaves a lot to be desired. There is no play bar with which to skip through a file if you are listening to something like an audio book, so it’s best to finish the whole file before listening to something else.

Also when you tap on the “album” title to navigate it assumes you want to do so by tags rather than folders, and the choice isn’t sticky, so every time I have to tap the album, tap the drop down menu, change to folders, hit the “top” button to get to the root of the USB.

It works, but isn’t great. There is no dedicated button to eject a disc, this is hidden away in the functions menu. This JVC system does the job, but I would recommend getting something with a better interface.

If CarPlay is your thing this is fine, but then you probably aren’t going for a model with a CD player.

After much searching for an affordable reputable brand stereo, I settled on this one. I had a few important traits I was looking for. It needed the ability to play CDs, be Bluetooth enabled, and to be able to connect to my phone to display GPS on the screen.

Android Auto was the promised solution for this. But from the get-go it was flaky. While it will do Bluetooth to my phone for playing music and audio apps you have to plug into the USB port for GPS. After connecting to Android Auto after a couple of minutes it would crash and you’d have to start all over again.

By this time you’re now driving down the road and have to try to get it going again while moving which was presenting an even worse scenario than just using my phone only for GPS from the beginning. I don’t know why Android Auto keeps crashing? Another minor frustration is it takes about 10-15 seconds to boot up which seems like a long time when you want to set music or book app up before you start driving.

Terrible quality! had this installed and right after install, am/fm didn’t work. Had it checked at shop and had original stereo put back in which worked fine. Decided to stay with this one then whole unit just stopped working within two weeks and will not even power on now.

I was warned by reputable shop that he has heard nothing but bad about this unit and he was right. Also BEWARE YOU CANNOT RETURN THIS TO YOUR LOCAL WALMART. If you want to return it past 30 days plan on paying more money only get a used, or refurbished one back.

My only mistake was not having it installed right away and not researching the return policies. Lesson learned $127 later and having to buy a different, better quality one. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR ! DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE.

I was pleasantly surprised that this relatively low cost flip screen head unit is as good as it has turned out to be. I bought it for my sons first vehicle, he loves the color changing feature, the screen and it’s displays.

It looks really good has good definition. The cd player and dvd player both work good. One of the primary reasons that I bought the Boss unit was because it could receive video from a back up camera.

The camera I also bought from Walmart for approx. $26. 00 and works great with the screen. The unit automatically switches to the camera and lowers the volume to the radio or what ever source is being used when you put the car in reverse.

It returns to normal when you take it out of reverse. It has 340 watts of power and clean sound. It is easy to navigate thru the included apps that run the unit. There is a real volume knob and auxiliary controls for operation if the screen is not used.

You can also close the screen and still use the LCD screen on the small display to see all radio, cd, phone and phone functions. Good BUY.

I was actually surprised with this stereo, being it was the first ” boss ” stereo I’ve ever purchased or even heard of. I installed it in my ram truck the originally had the stock stereo. This system really woke it up.

The sound, and clarity are much improved. The only thing I disliked about it is you had to buy an adapter for the antenna to connect to the stereo, but that certainly isn’t a deal breaker as it only costed maybe $12 for the adapter.

The touch screen on this system is very nice also, very responsive. Very clear. DVDs can be played as well as Bluetooth. The option to change the backlight color is a plus also as I can match my blue led dash lights now.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a nice stereo for a cheap price.

Purchased on line, and installed on my 2002 Ford F-350. Used an install kit, but still needed to trim out some dash to fit the double din chassis. Right off the bat, the internal microphone quality wasnt great, and was told that I sounded very muffled on the other end.

Tried with the truck off, and using other devices, but still not great. Contacted Boss, and they quickly sent me a new one, and upgraded me a couple levels as they didnt have stock on the one I had. New one doesnt have great mic quality either, and no provision for either to have an external microphone.

If you just need a basic head unit, and play from your own mp3s or Spotify, it works great. Decent power over the original head unit, even with stock speakers. Replaced speakers with a set of JVC cheapies, and couldn’t be happier,.

with a stereo system that was less than $200. Just wish the mic quality was better, AND had provision to hook up an external mic. Other reviews, (not just here), were complaining about not being able to see the screen in direct sunlight.

I can attest that this is NOT an issue. My mounting space is top and centre of the dash of my truck, and has no shading of the unit. I think the head unit has 7 different colour choices, and I could see how a couple colours wouldn’t show up as well as others.

I found on green or white, it was easy to see, and not hard on the eyes at night time. Overall would buy again. Can’t go wrong for under $100.

It is what it is, probably the cheapest double din out there. Works pretty good. Only things I don’t like are that you cannot select to have the clock on the screen constantly which I think is ridiculous.

Other thing is that the microphone sound quality is apparently not great. It’s audible, but not clear. It seems to work fine, and the Bluetooth has no issues connecting. Read other reviews that say the display isn’t very visible in direct sunlight.

I have no issue with that, and mine is mounted very high on the dash. For the money I can deal with the issues.

Easy to install. Nice sound and visual effects. My only knock is the using the phone over Bluetooth. The mic is not very good. Overall a good, low priced stereo. This is the 2nd one I bought.

Das nervt sehr. Nochmehr nervt da man dann wiederum um Wieder DAB zu hren oben Links den Knopf 5mal drcken muss um auf DAB zu kommen. Ich bin es gewohnt hier garnichts zu drcken. Wenn ich vom Handy was abspiele dann funktioniert dass immer automatisch und vorrangig zum Radio und anschlieend dudelt das Radio weiter.

Beim JVC nur mit Knpfchen drcken. Wie alle Bluethoothaudioaugabegerte fehlt dem ganzen auch ein Lautstrkepegel: mein Ohr ist immer das gleiche, aber ob ich Radio hre oder WhatsApp oder Youtube muss ich jedes mal die Lautstrke anpassen.

Meiner Meinung nach sollte dass 2022 schon lngst mal jemand behoben haben. Das kann ja kein Hexenwerk sein. Aussehen, Telefonie und Klang ist gut. Von mir jedoch wegen dem verfehlten Ziel keine Kaufempfehlung.

TranslateShow in original languagePreis Leistung absolut OK. Ich gehe davon aus, dass man nicht viele Geräte findet, wo man soviel für so kleines Geld bekommt. DAB+ funktioniert super. Auch die Funktion mit Bluetooth ist sensationell.

Telefonie klappt auch gut und ist beidseits tip top verständlich. Einzig einen Übergangsstecker/Adapter für UKW muss ich mir eventuell noch besorgen.
