20 Best Cheap Clarifying Shampoo (2022 Updated)

I LOVE THIS CLARIFYING SHAMPOO. I never used clarifying shampoo much in the past, because it would dry my hair out cause breakage no matter what I did. I also have a Brazilian Blowout sulfates in shampoos will ruin it, so I had a hard time finding a clarifying shampoo that would work for me.

I thought it was too good to be true, but purchased this anyways to try it out. Let me tell you, I AM SO GLAD THAT I DID. I use this once, sometimes twice a week. Most hair products have silicones in them if you don’t clarify your hair it causes build-up greasy roots/weighs it down.

My favorite day to style my hair is directly after washing with this shampoo. I use a moisture conditioner right after because the best time for your hair to soak in a product is when there’s no barriers after clarifying.

You can feel how clean your hair is directly after rinsing this out, but it doesn’t cause extreme dryness and frizz. It also is one of the only clarifying shampoos that successfully removes the oil build up towards my roots.

I would definitely purchase this if you’re looking for a good clarifying shampoo that gets rid of the bad things in your hair without stripping it of the good things that it needs. It’s a perfect balance I swear by it!.

It has the most beautiful, sweet rose scent, that’s very light and lasts all day long! The gel texture is, similar too honey “thick/sticky” becomes a nice creamy lather once water is added. It massaged through my hair nicely and rinsed out easily *I left it on for a total of 5 mins* My scalp felt/looked clean and refreshed.

okay guys buckle in, this is gonna be a long one. firstly, i’ve been dyeing my hair shades of red/orange for the last year and a half and so i’m always on the lookout for a shampoo that won’t fade or strip my colour, especially because red tones are soooo difficult to maintain.

this shampoo is GREAT for coloured hair, if anything, it actually made my highlights more vibrant, which is rare for a product with no ‘refreshing’ dye in it. secondly, i’ve noticed a build-up on my scalp recently, like i just could not get my hair fully clean.

guys, when i tell you the relief i felt after the first use, omg!!! SO CLEAN! i also noticed less grease in the days after wash-day. usually, by day 4 my hair is visibly greasy, which kinda sours my mood unless i do a grease-hiding style.

i’m on day 3 now and my scalp feels as clean as it did on day 1 with other shampoos! my hair also has an incredibly shine. as my review headline says, this shampoo is amazing for the girlies who only wash once a week.

i’ve seen reviewers complain that this shampoo is drying or frizz-inducing which is def a possiblity if you’re using it more than twice a week or without a proper conditioner. for reference, i wash once a week, sometimes going as long as 9 days and i usually use a conditioning mask.

my ONLY critic of this product is that my hair was def more static-y than before, which is something i’m willing to sacrifice for a clean scalp. other than that, it is PERFECT. cannot reccomend enough!.

I took a chance years ago! My frizz is under control just by shampoo and conditioner. My hair feels LIGHT (not weighed down by other frizz products). My breakage and hair loss is very minimum compared to ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE breakage and hair loss before using WOW! I’ll use this shampoo/conditioner combo forever! It’s def worth the Little extra cost compared to other shampoos that do absolutely nothing but harm to my hair! The smell isn’t overpowering yet still smells clean! Daily use, but I use it every 2-3 days when I wash my hair! It also removes buildup from other products that weigh down and cause oil! That’s the only reason I can go longer between washes! Incredible experience with this WOW Shampoo Apple Cider Vinegar and Virgin Coconut + Avocado Conditioner. I applied Shampoo an I let it act for 5 minutes, gently massaging the root. I rinsed thoroughly and then applied the conditioner and let it act on the driest parts of my hair for 3 minutes.

I was suffering from hair damage, hair fall and dandruff. I had a super curly hair too, it was too depressing and I’ve tried almost all products and one day, I got this recommendation for WOW shampoos and conditioners that it’s so good especially for curly hairs.

I thought I would give it a try. I’ve been using Wow Skin Science Apple cider vinegar Shampoo accompanied with Wow Skin Science organic coconut and avocado oil for over two years now. TBH I haven’t been disappointed till this second.

it works so well and my hair felt that natural feel again and the conditioner really did wonders. The length of my hair felt less stony and broken. I also experienced less hairfall. After a year and so, I did a keratin treatment in my hair.

I haven’t changed my shampoo and conditioner after the treatment too and I can surely say, it works well for chemically treated hair too. I’ve ordered a variety of WOW’s shampoos, the charcoal one, the one with onion, the one with argon oil.

I wasn’t quite satisfied with the onion one. But the charcoal shampoo and conditioner quite did its job not as much as Apple cider vinegar Shampoo. Argon oil conditioner was okay. I’ve recommended this shampoo and conditioner to quite a lot of my friends and I haven’t received a bad review.

I would strongly recommend this product for natural and chemically treated hair.

I love this Clarifying Shampoo. I’ve tried many before (Creme of Nature Apple Cider Rinse, Camille Rose Clean Rinse, etc), and all of those stripped the moisture from my hair and made it so dry and straw-like.

But after using Bounce Curls: Clarifying Shampoo, my hair wasn’t dry at all! It was moisturized, super soft, and had so much volume! I couldn’t keep my hands out of my hair I was so surprised. And even after I dried it with my microfiber towel it was still so soft, my hair cuticles were so smooth.

For this product you really don’t need a lot, it foams and spreads easily, and it really does clarify the scalp and remove product build-up. This product gives amazing results on my low porosity 3C-4A curls.

As soon as I got done using it, I tossed my other clarifying shampoo’s in the trash and immediately went to Bounce Curls to purchase more of this product. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

I have scalp psoriasis that is helped, but not cured, by expensive oral medication. I realized that my scalp seemed even angrier after washing my hair and started researching common trigger ingredients….

I have been using this shampoo for a little over two months now, and the change in my hair has been fantastic! I use this to wash two to three times a week, and follow-up with the super smooth cream conditioner.

I have also been using the hair detox mask once per month, with deep conditioner. Since using this shampoo, my curls have gained more definition, life, and shine. My 2c/3a hair has been COMPLETELY transformed by the Bounce Curl Products, and I am more comfortable washing my hair more often.

This shampoo leaves my roots without build-up, adding great volume to my hair after each wash. It does not leave the hair feeling dry, but rather leaves it feeling soft – the perfect precursor to detangling once conditioner is in.

I’ve been having issues with thinning and breakage for a couple of years now and it really does seem like I’ve tried almost everything. I kept my expectations low but since a lot of friends have used and liked Olaplex I decided that it would be worth it to try and so far it has been.

I was so excited to try the new Olaplex No. 4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo and was not disappointed! I start off by applying weekly in place of my regular shampoo to my wet hair at the scalp working to ends, working it into a lather, letting it sit for around 5 minutes to fully penetrate and process, rinse and follow with conditioner.

This shampoo really does an amazing job clarifying my hair without leaving it feeling it dry like many others do because it is pH balanced. It removes buildup, damaging impurities, excess oil, pollution, heavy metals, and hard water minerals which basically covers so many things and what more could I personally ask for in a clarifying shampoo I ask myself? This shampoo also has Olaplex patented bond building technology so as I cleanse my hair it maintains strong hair bond which is so exciting in for me in this product that it has this too! My hair honestly felt and looked dull in all ways and the texture you could tell had buildup and afterwards my hair was was soft, voluminous, shiny, renewed textured, and more vibrant color too which I honestly was surprised by! My hair is also wavy and my waves are more defined and just behave better and style better, I’m so happy! Im so happy and Olaplex does it does again with a amazing and superior product that does not disappoint but only surprise!.

I have extremely fine and thin hair. Therefore I use a lot of product in my hair. Two when it’s wet and a colored powder on the scalp when it’s dry and then finish off with hairspray, ( you know the kind of hairspray, a hurricane wouldn’t move it).

Regular shampoo cannot get all this stuff out of my hair. I have used clarifier shampoos before, so I was skeptical. But, what the heck. First the citrus smell hits you, which makes you feel energetic.

Then the fantastic lather. I use this before my regular shampoo. the the cleanse that it gives and the smell too makes it great. It doesn’t tear my hair out or break it. This is why I will continue to use Shampoo Two.

I bought the Paul Mitchell shampoo, it was recommended to me by a family friend, anyway I have both an oily scalp and the ends of my hair can get very dry, maybe due to overstyling, anyway I used this shampoo many times and it helped regulate my oily scalp, yet it didn’t dry my hair especially the end.

I did read the ingredient list and was pleased to see that it contained both a wheat protein (keratin) derivative and lemon, refreshing and a natural treatment for oily hair. I could tell the difference when comparing this Paul Mitchell shampoo and the so many brands out there, unfortunately I had to try a few, which ended to be good so that I could write this review from my personal experience and not just from other people’ s experience since everyone has different hair and therefore different hair concerns and therefore different opinions.

This product is great for oily hair! I have an oily scalp and have wax buildup from the Aussie shampoos. This was making my hair extremely stringy and waxy, making my hair feel dirty within 24 hours.

I tried the tea tree oil Paul Mitchell shampoo and although it did seem to clear up some buildup, it made my scalp really itchy. The Shampoo Two isn’t thick so I had to use three or four pumps to massage my entire scalp.

The lady at Ulta also recommended I leave the product in for a minute or two which was great advice! My hair isn’t stringy nor is it waxy! You can still tell there’s buildup on my scalp, but I’ve only used this product for a day; so far so good.

My scalp is still a little bit itchy, but I’m hoping if I use this product consistently for a few weeks that might go away. All in all, if nothing is working for you try this shampoo. I have a sensitive scalp and thick wavy hair and this stuff seems to do the trick.

If you have wavy hair or curly hair I would also recommend using a wide tooth comb for your hair when you get out of the shower so it limits the amount of hair coming out as you brush it.

This is literally the only thing that got out old semi-permanent hair color that wouldn’t budge. You would think semipermanent would wash out easily but this particular one didn’t. I tried all the internet “tricks”; vitamin C powder, baking soda, other clarifying shampoos, dandruff shampoo etc.

This shampoo wasn’t drying or damaging either. I did have to use a processing cap and leave it on my head 45 minutes, rinsed out, then used a deep conditioner.

I’ve tried sooo many color protecting shampoos even from salons and they seem to strip semi permanent color out no matter how cold of water I use. I’m so glad I tried this I notice a lot less fading plus it actually cleans ur scalp and hair.

Most color protecting shampoos make your hair heavy and greasy and leave a film but this actually makes ur scalp and hair feel clean which is important Bc I have a very oily scalp. I believe this is the only shampoo that actually was made to protect semi perm hair color which is awesome since most color protecting shampoos are formulated for Demi and perm hair color and not necessarily semi.

My scalp is sensitive as well and I haven’t had any issues 10/10 for me.

I have colored copper hair. If u know, u know it’s very hard to keep the color in. I thought this was a good price and the brand is known for outrageous colors. Unfortunately, after trying many MANY times, it always made my hair so weirdly greasy at the back.

I tried so many different methods and no matter what it just made my hair look weighed down and even more worn out. Had to return.

I have bought this product twice now and continue to be impressed. I use it every 2-3 weeks to combat build-up from my regular, more moisturizing products. I have a normal to dry scalp and it works beautifully for me.

I also usually pair a thorough shampooing with this product with a nourishing hair mask for my ends. The key thing to understand is that for most scalps, this isn’t designed to be used on a daily basis.

Think of it as more like a scalp treatment. I also really appreciate the lemony smell and think the consistency is very nice!.

This is my absolute favorite go to shampoo! I will not buy any other products currently. I have extensions in my hair and since extensions do not get the natural oil from your scalp, your have to use additional moisturizer to keep them healthy.

These products does just that. It also smells amazing! So if you have dry hair, it needs hydration, or if you have extensions. This product is for you!.

My absolute fav clarifying shampoo. It is the real deal and will clean that hair and scalp from all build up. Just be careful to not use too frequently. It lathers really nice to make you feel like you’re getting clean, and smells so so good…like grapefruit if I recall correctly.

Since I use it so sparingly, it’s worth every penny. Plus I really like the sleek, clean packaging and design. 10/10.

If you have not tried Kenra yet, you’re missing out. This brand is a favorite and this product is a shower staple. We have hard water here in Arizona and since moving here my hair has suffered. Feeling dry, brittle and lacking volume I set in search of a great clarifying shampoo to cleanse and rid of the hard water deposits.

This shampoo did the trick, in just one wash! I use it once a week to keep my hair full of life and healthy. My hair is also recovering from post partum hair loss and this has helped restore my locks.

It’s about $20 a bottle and well worth it! A little goes a long way.

I was very disappointed I love this shampoo I have ordered it a couple other times. I did not know they had smaller bottles and I probably would have known by the price but it said $5 and something off that would be approximate price with that added on for the next size which is much larger.

okay yeah I think it was costly for the size but the bottle that lid was not tight. is Ashley leaks out in a plastic bag thank goodness for that down to where the label starts. I don’t remember if they had white protectors when you open the lid to pull off I can’t remember that.

I will not bother bringing it back I need some now. if there was something supposed to be over the top of that bottle, it is a little scary. I don’t think there’s anything that could have been put in there that would harm my head less they put something in it to seep into my brain that’s bad haha LOL seriously I think it should be safe to use.

I actually bought this shampoo through WOW!’s site last year and I’m SERIOUSLY EXCITED that I can find it at a store close by cause this stuff is THE BEST. It is LITERALLY the only shampoo I have EVER found that didn’t make my hair feel like wet straw when I rinsed it out.

Massage it into your scalp with one of those scalp massager things and let it soak in for 5 minutes. Your scalp’s PH balance will be so much happier! I’m predominantly white with curly hair but my hair is a bit more coarse than typical white girl hair due to inheriting some of my Sioux grandma’s hair texture.

Was gifted by Bumble and bumble. The Bb Sunday Weekly Detoxifying shampoo is the perfect shampoo to get all the residue out of your healthy non-color treated beautiful locks each week. My hair felt so smooth, felt clean and refreshed.

I received compliments the first time using it from my family members. Not only did my hair feel soft, I didn’t have a big problem like I usually do with frizz living in a humid area. That made me excited! You only need a small amount for your hair and it has a clean light scent not an overpowering smell.

I would recommend to anyone who uses styling products and needs a wash to get all that residue build up out and oils. You will love it!.

Since I went swimming a lot, I had to look for clarifying shampoos that also removed chlorine. This shampoo does a great job cleaning buildup, and my curls are now coming back from the pool damage. Only two minor cons are: 1) short bottle, though it’s wide-shaped, and sometimes a little goes a long way, and 2) is very drying, but that’s usual of most clarifying shampoos.

Be sure to include deep conditioning and moisturizing into your wash day routine when using this shampoo. 🙂 Important note: If you’re going swimming, be sure to also add some bond repairing treatments like Olaplex or Curlsmith Bond Salve to go along with the rest of the deep cleansing and repairing wash routine alongside this Bumble & Bumble detox shampoo.

It can be drying due to its very deep cleaning, so be sure to add deep conditioners and hydrating and/or protein products.

I was so excited to try this product after all the amazing reviews about it. I have been using the shampoo and conditioner for the last 2. 5 months and unfortunately cannot say I love it. My scalp usually gets mild flakes with seasonal changes that last a couple of weeks and I would add in head and shoulders at that point.

Decided to try this product and my scalp has never peeled and been so full of dandruff ever! My scalp was peeling off in massive chunks to the point where it looked like I had a sunburn over and over again.

It was the entire top of my head that would completely flake off. I only use the shampoo on the top of my head but even with using the conditioner, my ends have seemed to become dryer and brittle looking even though I don’t use any heat products or styling products in my hair.

I’ve noticed some people have said this product helped with hair loss. I naturally lose quite a bit of hair in the shower but haven’t noticed an improvement in that. Absolutely love the smell and feeling of the product on my scalp but just very sad it didn’t work for me.

I originally bought this product after seeing multiple people recommend it on YouTube. Seeing these people posing with their long, gorgeous hair next to this shampoo made it very easy for me to take the leap and spend around $15 on this shampoo.

I was also looking for a clarifying shampoo that I could use once a week to remove build up from my hair, so this seemed perfect. I read many reviews where people claimed this product made their hair fall out, but didn’t believe these reviews because I thought there must have been other issues (perhaps health related) that caused hair loss? Well, after two months of using this soap, I definitely noticed an increased amount of my hair falling out.

It wasn’t anything drastic, but enough to make me realize that there was definitely something going on, which is why I decided to switch to the WOW apple cider vinegar shampoo (it has been a month of using this shampoo and I do not notice as much hair falling out as I did with the tea tree shampoo).

I did love how the tea tree shampoo made my scalp feel, because the tingling sensation made me feel like my scalp was being detoxed and cleaned. The scent of the shampoo was also very lovely and fresh, but the amount of hair I lost while using this soap was all I needed to put it down forever.

I bought the travel size of this shampoo to test out how it would do on my hair before I splurged on the big bottle. I was also a bit wary of the reviews that claimed it caused hair loss. I have wavy and thick hair with low porosity.

I have a very dry, itchy, flakey scalp as well. I read that tea tree oil could help soothe your scalp, so I thought I would try it. I washed my hair as directed. Used about 3 dime sizes for my whole head and massaged it into my scalp.

It lathers alright. Not much suds. That made me think that it wasn’t cleaning my hair enough so I was tempted to put more shampoo on my head but I did not. The smell is very strong, but it does not linger in your hair post-wash.

Usually, my head begins to itch after I wash my hair, but with this shampoo, there was no itch! So I was pleasantly surprised by that. I finished off my hair with the tea tree special conditioner. After I finished showering and dried my hair with a microfiber towel, I noticed no residue on my hair and it felt very clean! I couldn’t see any flakes and my scalp wasn’t itchy! Just from this, I am very impressed with this shampoo.

To address the hair loss comments, I did not notice any significant hair loss when I used the shampoo. I am the type to shed a lot of hair as it is since I have thick hair. I also wash my hair about once a week, so I tend to lose a bit of hair because of that because stray hairs build up over that time.

So this might not be good for someone who has thin hair or shampoos frequently. But for me, it works great. Hair loss was about the same or slightly less than usual. I washed my hair about 5 days ago and my hair is a lot less flakey and itchy.

It still feels relatively clean with some oil started to build up on my hair. By this time, my hair is usually an oily, flakey mess, but it is not now because of this shampoo! Will definitely splurge for the large bottle!.

I am shocked at how much I love this shampoo. Nothing has been better then my Neutrogena clarifying shampoo. The Kristin ess one is amazing!! I mean if u like that squeaky clean feeling. But when my hair dried the silky smoothness of my hair was insanely amazing.

The shine of my hair was like I had a hair oil in my hair. My hair was super soft and shiny. This will be my new go to for clarifying my hair. The only thing I will say is the scent of this shampoo compared to her other scents is not that great.

I saw where someone said it smells like dog shampoo and I definitely got that scent as well. But faintly it does smell good but had like a faint dog shampoo scent to it. Nothing bad almost had a wood smell maybe? Bamboo type of scent.

This shampoo SAVED my hair. I’ve been using Native shampoo conditioner for about 6 months and I noticed my scalp start to have so much dandruff. It was REALLY bad. My hit also seemed really oily pretty quickly.

At this point, it felt like I just couldn’t get it out no matter how long I rinsed. There was just lots of build up. This shampoo literally saved my hair. After one wash, it felt significantly better and actually clean.

I paired it with the curl quench conditioner on my ends (even though I have straight hair) and use a little on my scalp and my hair looks and feels so much better. I hardly ever leave reviews but I feel like this shampoo definitely deserves some recognition.

This shampoo deserves a 10/10!! I struggle with really bad dandruff and sweat a lot which creates so much buildup. After using this my head feels squeaky clean and I can scratch it without getting any dirt or oil in my nails😖.

However, I only use this twice a week and I use a hydration mask. This is recommended on the bottle to prevent your hair drying out. I love the smell, the cute blush color of the bottle, and the ingredients! It’s not that foamy, so I do have to use a lot because of my thick hair.

I have used the whole bottle now and my hair looks and feels a lot more cleaner!.

I picked up this shampoo because I live in an apartment and my shower has a lot of hard water and minerals that come from the pipes. I was very hopeful this shampoo would help to remove all that mineral and hard water buildup, which it did.

however if you are going to use this, use a moisturizing mask afterwards because this will dry out your hair and make it tangly and unmanageable. Also only use this 1-2x monthly to avoid severely dehydrating your hair.

This is an inexpensive product compared to other hard water or detox shampoos, but i have noticed the pricier options hydrate your hair a bit more while washing with them. Overall the product works, but the dryness afterwards is something to watch out for.

My makeup brush was so clean that it looked brand new again. If it can do that then I know how good it is! I have not only a new clarifying shampoo but a forever repurchase! Thank you ION!.

I have fine hair which gets weighed down by certain shampoos and hair products. This shampoo made my hair feel squeaky clean and gave it more volume. I use the clarifying shampoo 1-2 times per week alternating with my other shampoo and it does the trick.

Will definitely buy again!.

I just moved to Cali where the water in my area is super harsh and the chlorine just dries my hair even more. We installed a shower filter which makes everything a little better but I still needed a shampoo that cleans my hair without leaving any residues.

(Btw my hair is thick and wavy and naturally tends to dryness; it’s not dyed!) I couldn’t use my old shampoo anymore and It took me literally weeks to give this shampoo a try. Every other shampoo left my hair either super dry or greasy.

I wish I found this one earlier. So I was really scared at first because some reviews say it leaves the hair even more dry but luckily for my hair it works wonders. My hair feels clean, fresh and with the right conditioner everything is perfect.

The scent is also fresh and not to overpowering. The price is great for what you get. It probably lasts months because I don’t need much since it lathers very well. The only thing that’s confusing to me is that the ingredients on the bottle are totally different than on the website.

Which I actually don’t mind – Because the ingredients on my bottle seem to be less harsh. but when you look it up on the website and you buy it because you want those ingredients- you’ll probably buy something else.

All in all i keep using this shampoo and hopefully it will remain working so good for me.

I ordered this online for a Target pick up. When I looked in the bag I was shocked at how big the bottle was! It’s a family size bottle of shampoo. I looked at my order history thinking maybe they upgraded my item or something, but this is indeed the size I ordered.

For the price, that’s a lot of shampoo. I need a clarifying shampoo to use occasionally to remove product buildup. This seems to do a good job so far. I love the smell. Slightly drying but I do have dry hair to begin with.

I followed up with a hefty dose of conditioner. My only complaint is that the back label is printed so small especially in proportion to the bottle. The typesetters and designers at Suave need to make these things easier to read.

It looks like 6 pt type, in black typeset on a clear label overlaid on a blue product. Come on. This should last me at least a year.

So I remember first trying Suave Daily Clarifying about ten years ago. It had a very different fragrance, somewhat different consistency, and the ingredients have been changed probably to appease the sulfate fearing crowd.

While I still use the updated formula (it cleans well and doesn’t leave residue), I think the one from my childhood was slightly superior. Although I dont plan to abandon Suave because I like clean hair (no silicones, no conditioner), and also use their body washes (love the ocean scent), the old fragrance was better.

This one is more perfume and less fresh. It still lathers well and rinses clean, but the old one performed a little better. And it had this amazing CLEAN smell, gender neutral. Nothing remotely like perfume.

I’m having nostalgia now thinking about it. I doubt they’ll bring it back. But I wish they would! It was my favorite scent and I loved the feel of that shampoo. Suave, would you consider resurrecting old products just to see how people respond? You might be surprised how change isn’t always synonymous with progress.

This is probably the first miss from Oribe for me. It isn’t bad per se. no hair loss or excess shedding, doesn’t dull my color, and it has the beautiful signature Oribe scent. That being said, I think it is miscategorized as a clarifying shampoo.

I don’t notice any difference in “cleanliness” when I use this vs. my regular oribe shampoos. Sadly, this formula is very drying, and I notice my roots get greasier faster after using it. I can usually go ~3 days between washes, with this my hair looks dirty the next day.

The foam is a fun concept and everyone’s hair type is different so just because it wasn’t a hit for me doesn’t mean it won’t work for you. just come prepared with a moisturizing conditioner or hair mask to make up for any potential dryness :).

This product does exactly what it claims. It deeply cleanses without making my hair feel dry. I used Gold Lust religiously and wash my hair 2-3 times/week. I find that I normally had to rinse and repeat twice with Gold Lust to remove my product buildup and get my hair really clean.

That is, before I started using this. This shampoo revives my hair on another level. It leaves my hair feeling so incredibly soft and light. The results are unlike anything I’ve seen before, with other single product I’ve used.

I never want to be without this!.

I typically double shampoo. First I’ll go in with a clarifying shampoo and then do a second wash with the Oribe shampoo for brilliance and shine (which I love). I’ve been doing this for years and have typically been able to go a full 7 days between washes with no issues.

When I started using this as my first wash, I noticed that my hair was getting oily after only 2 days or so. I stopped using this after a few weeks of experiencing that and swapped in the Ouai detox shampoo as my first wash.

My scalp went back to normal after about 2 weeks. My theory is that this product was too stripping for my scalp and causing it to overcompensate with more oil.

The shampoo not only smells great but I feel as though it really cleans your hair and strips away any product, sweat, etc that builds up. The bottle design for both the shampoo and conditioner are sleek and appealing.

You also don’t have to use much of the product to get your desired results. However, the same for all the products and only reason I wouldn’t give 5 stars is the price. International shipping to the UK was a 1/3 of the overall cost which brought the price up drastically.

If this could be cheaper then I would definitely repurchase.

Using this product every 2-3 days is the ideal frequency to wash out stale hair product and oils. It foams up nicely so you do not need to use an excessive amount. And compared to other shampoos I have used, it does not dry up hair too much but you will still need to replenish the light amount of drying with Forte conditioner and preferably, an added touch of argan oil.

The Forte Clarifying Shampoo is terrific. Not only does it get your hair squeaky clean, but it has a wonderful minty scent. A little of it goes a long way. I would highly recommend this shampoo to everyone.

I normally use the Television shampoo and conditioner, but had heard about Oblivion working to remove build-up. I followed the directions carefully (wet hair, rub into the roots first, then scrub and gather the rest of the hair, wait to rinse for 1-2 minutes), and my hair felt extremely soft, clean, and light.

I use various dry shampoos and hair sprays in between getting my hair colored, so this was almost like a facial for my hair. I plan to use it once every few weeks. Great as an “extra” product, not something for every single day.

I have curly hair (thinning, coarse, dry but lots of volume). I got this shampoo to use as needed for those times when I’ve been using a lot of product and need a clean slate. So first, the bottle is small.

It’s not a lot for the price. However, if you use it every now and then (as I do), I think it could last a while. It’s not, for me, an everyday shampoo, for its purpose or its price. Unlike what some reviewers said, it doesn’t leave my hair oily.

It leaves it very shiny and healthy looking. I searched for a while to find a clarifying shampoo without sulfates that wouldn’t irritate my scalp or damage my hair – this fits the bill. Because it doesn’t have sulfates, it doesn’t suds up a lot.

This is typical of this kind of product, though, and it does get your hair clean.

It takes a LOT of this product to clean my hair personally. It’s supposed to be a super clarifying shampoo, but I honestly find it to be a very gentle shampoo for people who don’t have incredibly greasy hair.

I have hair that’s chin level in length, and I wash my hair every other day because of said length. Once a week, I’ve been in the habit of clarifying my hair, but I feel like this shampoo doesn’t do the job I want it to do.

With my other shampoo, my hair still feels clean by day of washing. With this shampoo, it’s already time to wash my hair again by the second day. It’s great for thin hair that doesn’t get very greasy, but for me with my thick hair, it’s too gentle.

I absolutely adore their conditioner though!.

I had been following the curly girl method for about a year. I thought that would make my curls bouncy and healthy. It worked at first, but after awhile they were just limp and losing shape. Also, my scalp was starting to flake and I was losing root volume.

This shampoo is *not* CGM approved, but I was desperate. I shampooed twice in one shower, and WOW! New life!! The color depositing pigments from my copper clenditioner by Keracolor DID come out (I mix a bit of that into my Curlsmith cleansing conditioner to keep my copper bright), but the permanent copper dye underneath did not.

After letting my hair air dry, my scalp felt SO MUCH BETTER! It could finally breathe! My products (usually Hold My Softly by Curlsmith, sometimes with Advanced Climate Control Gel Extra Hold by Ouidad) worked better.

My curls had recovered! Thank youuu! 🙏 I’ve now incorporated this shampoo into my regular routine. I use it every 4 weeks before I color my roots. I have now abandoned the Curly Girl Method, and just use good quality products that do what they say they will, such as this shampoo.

I even straighten my hair when I want to, and despite this, my curls still look better than obeying the whoopdidoo CGM. I would recommend this for ALL hair types, even stick-straight. FYI my hair is medium-thick, not highly porous despite being color treated, halfway down my back in length, curls range from 2C-3B.

Like most curly-hair individuals, I have a magnificent collection of hair products. Therefore, I need a clarifying shampoo every once awhile. My hair is well-moisturized, but to keep everything curly and pristine I have to use some pretty heavy product.

This did nothing. I’m pretty sure I used 1/4 of the bottle to get through my hair in one wash, and I only wash once a week. There are better products out there with better ingredients for less money.

This brand is not worth it. I just don’t understand the hype.

Bought this yesterday to clarify my hair today and WOWWWWW! Love love love this so much. Despite all the sulfates, it’s so cleansing and gentle and SO effective! The fruity aroma of this product reminds me so much of Malibu c undo goo- another effective clarify but used on the professional side.

This shampoo is almost similar it terms of efficacy and the price point is better! SO HAPPY with this purchase! For reference I have 4b/4c hair. Every curly person needs a clarifier. They make a huge difference!.

I was recently put onto this product by my hair stylist, and it’s life-changing. I use the whole system (Shampoo, Conditioner and Detangler) and I must say I REALLY LOVE the way my hair feels now. You can notice a significant difference between using this and ANY OTHER shampoo/conditioner.

My hair feels soft, smooth and thicker after every use. And if you use heat, like blow-dry and maybe add a few curls, oh how you’re going to put some extra pep in your step so you can just swing your head around to show the world your perfect hair.

I swear, you will not regret this purchase – for the boost in confidence, it’s so worth the splurge. I get my hair colored regularly too, and I feel like this preserves my color pretty well – afterall, you need to protect your investment, right?! For reference, I’m of Southeast Asian/Pacific Islander descent; my hair is fine, but I have a lot of it and it’s naturally wavy.

It’s a really great product, but I do wish the smell was better. Considering the formula is so light and watery, it does detangle really well. It makes your hair smoother, softer and definitely more shiny.

The bottle is simple and looks like a salon product too, but I’m not a big fan of the fragrance. I asked my mom for her opinion on it and she said it smells pleasant, but I have other leave ins that smell wayyy better.

To me, it smells almost like cleaning products. It has a fresh scent, but I prefer more sugary, fruit scents for hair products. The smell is a little be chemically in my opinion. I think I’ll keep it to use in the summer though since it’s so lightweight and easy to use.

I have tried so many hair shampoo and conditioner products and this is hands down my favorite. There is no comparison. It is worth the money. No questions. You only need the smallest amount. And I have super thick hair… and the smell is great.

This leaves my hair (curly texture that’s straightened a lot) super shiny, soft and manageable. No frizz. Best system ever.
