20 Best Cheap Rowing Machine (2022 Updated)

I went to a gym and it was so expensive I bailed out before the month I could get a refund. With half the money of my refund I got this little dandy. It is not obtrusive in my living room and I am very particular about my space.

I kinda got hooked on the rowing machine at the gym and they had high end ones. This little thing does the same thing as the expensive big ones. I could take it out on my porch in the morning when it’s not too hot and do my work out.

Inside it takes up about as much as my guitar leaning up against the wall, but it’s taller by 1/2 again. It’s not heavy and I find that i get arm work, gutt work, leg work all at once. The counters you have to get used to…sort of.

Just read the little blurb in the manual. It’s easy as pie. Somebody was using their noodle when they designed. Kudos to the architect. And especially, the price was right at $119. Including shipping in a matter of 3 or 4 days.

This has quickly become my family’s favorite way to exercise. It’s definitely a bit of a “niche” rower as it’s upper weight limit is fairly low (220 lbs. ) but if you can make that, it’s great. (Note the seat feels small on my somewhat substantial behind) It folds up nicely to sit in a corner, unfolds quickly for use.

It’s easy to put together. I don’t use the electronic stuff, preferring to base my workout on time and resistance. I just unplug it and set it to the side. It’s easy to move from one resistance level to another.

I just picked one of these up. I had been using a stamina air rower at home and a concept 2 or water rower brand at the gym. I’ve kept a pretty close eye on my split times between the different machines.

My new Sunny obsidian surge is wildly different that either of the other 3 that I’ve used. While I’ve been a consistent 2:25/500 meters this machine clocks me at almost double that time. I think it has to do with the way the meter counts the distance during the recovery.

I have my tank filled to level 4 (just like the water rower at the gym. ) It seems to require almost twice the strokes to travel the same distance. I should note that 500 meters kicks my but almost as much as 1k on the other machines so I like it but it’s just not accurate in it’s monitoring.

If you’re looking to track your progress against a group or larger community then this rower won’t give you the correct data- BUT you are certainly able to track your personal progress and get an enjoyable full body workout.

Oh and my feet keep slipping out of the footrests but I think I can find a fix for that.

I live with my parents who are immunocompromised so I try to minimize as much physical contact with the outside world as much as well. This rower was my 3rd piece to my home gym and I gotta say. The home gym is probably the best investment I’ve made.

Being to work out whenever you want is a blessing that I never knew I needed. Home gyms 4 life!!!.

Wonderful machine. I was able to put it together by myself in about 30 minutes. I am new to rowing machines, but I really enjoy the workout. I have found some beginner videos on Youtube. The build looks fine and everything seems to be sturdy.

I have been using about 4 times a week for the last two weeks and have no issues at all.

I bought this a little while ago, and have been using this tower 3-4 times a week. Overall the construction is very sturdy and while I have some minor gripes overall the machine is perfect for what I needed it for.

Construction took only a few minutes, probably easier with a helper, loaded it up with some water and started working out. Rowers are a new machine for me, but a few friends I have had over tend to like it more than the fan machines they have at their gyms.

Sure, changing the resistance is not as easy, but once you find your sweet spot you don’t have much to change. Now you know what you’re going to be getting with an entry rower like this. But what if something breaks? Their customer service has had me covered each time I have reached out.

Upon shipment my machine had a broken screen, and that was replaced immediately by the team. My minor gripes revolve around the feet straps, the ring in the strap loves to twist its way around and tear through the fabric.

I have had to call in twice for new straps, and each time has been super easy and a very quick phone call. Most recently “Shelly L” was able to help out and send out the new straps right away and had everything ready before the phone call was over.

Overall, I am very happy with the machine and it was worth the investment. I think they should revise the feet straps and maybe beef up the fabric on them a little better, but again it’s a budget machine but the customer service really does make up for that.

So to begin: I rowed in college (30 years ago) and have kept up the exercise ever since. I have rowed on Air Resistance machines and Piston Resistance machines- this is the first water resistance machine I have ever used.

The machine arrived well before the QVC projected date, in tact and ready to assemble. Assembly took 30 mins+/- and came with all the tools and parts you need, as well as easy to follow instructions.

This machine is beautifully designed and built. I am an architect, furniture designer/builder, and an industrial designer who makes ALL his own prototypes. I know my welding and craftsmanship, and this machine is without demerit.

The welds are sturdy and exactly what they need to be. The materials are well selected and deployed. I spent a fair amount of time reading reviews and researching machines, and this one consistently got the best reviews.

The only flaws people identified were they felt the foot / heal cups were a bit flimsy (they are not) and the seat rollers were a bit noisy (they are not). I am guessing that Xterra read these complaints and rectified the issues.

The seat glides effortlessly on friction rollers, and while you can hear them, the noise is pretty much drowned out by the whoosh of the blades spinning through the water in the tank. In any event, I love the sound of this machine.

I haven’t done a full work out on this machine yet, but let me sketch out my initial thoughts. So even w/ the tank filled up to the max resistance line, the resistance feels less than the air resistance, Concept 2 type machines I have used, and significantly less than the air piston machines I have used.

Having said that, my understanding is that as you progress through your workout, the resistance increases due to the physics of the blades spinning through the water. My initial test suggests this is in fact the case.

This is a completely different type of workout from the piston machines I have used- its wayyyy more fluid. It is closer to the air resistance type rower, but much more pleasant IMO. The piston type machines I have used are more of an upper body work out, where the air resistance and water machines are more of a lower impact, full body workout (which is really what I am looking for).

Finally- this machine is worth every penny.

After receiving this rower as a Christmas present, I was excited to try it out. However, that excitement was short lived. On the first workout, the digital screen performed well accurately tracking my workout.

On my second row, the screen began cutting in and out during the workout turning itself off and resetting. Following the advice of previous reviewers, I removed the batteries after each workout to increase battery life.

After inserting the batteries for my third workout, the battery compartment immediately started smoking and will no longer turn on. Generally, I like the smooth rowing motion this machine provides. However, if you are looking for a machine that provides feedback on your workout look elsewhere.

I had been looking for awhile for a full motion rower which feels like the real thing. I read the reviews and You tube videos. I was concerned about quality and also most importantly the California warning.

I finally decided to buy it and I am so glad I did. I have it in the garage or an area that has good airflow. I was impressed with how relatively easy it was to build and the quality. It is an excellent piece of equipment and I got it on a sale for Valentine’s day.

I read reviews about the seat not being smooth but honestly people, when you are rowing, the body of water you are in is not always smooth. The arm swing is smooth and very well built. The first day I could not do 2 minutes without pausing.

Every day I feel like my body is gaining from the exercise. I am very happy with the equipment and if you are in the market for a full motion rower, which in my opinion gives you the real effect of rowing, I would make the purchase today.

I got the rower earlier than I thought, so was happy about that! I was also relieved to know there weren’t a million little pieces I had to put together, minus the bolts, etc. Took me about 45 min to put together, but that’s more because my cat kept interrupting to play–lol.

The only issue I had was some of the bolts I struggled to tighten; luckily, I was able to stabilize the part or the other bolt on the opposite end, while I screwed the struggling one in. If you have someone to help you (which I did not), it would be a breeze to put together.

I do wish the details/graphics in the booklet were bigger, but a lot was common sense as to how to put it together, anyway. Once I put it all together and tried it, I was very happy with how easy it was to use, as well as the fluid motion.

I was worried the arm bars were going to be rigid and linear movement, which would kill my shoulders and arm muscles. Instead, the arm bars/handles freely flow at any angle you wish, just like oars. The seat easily flows and slides back and forth, and I didn’t feel any wobbling.

Lastly, the machine is much more compact than I realized, which is great, considering I am running out of space to place gym equipment! Oh, one more thing: the only negative is the display–the numbers and such were going all over the place, and very dim.

I assume the batteries they come with are old, so I’ll switch those out, even if I don’t really care about using it anyway. Regardless, I am VERY glad I got this, and at a good price, too!.

1. Weight max 350. Good quality 2. Small footprint for small apartments. 3. Very quiet. Perfect for upstairs apartments and sleeping babies. 4. Realistic rowing feel. 5. Can be stored away. But no wheels to roll away.

Low price makes up for no wheels. 6. Only con. Cannot use more than 15 – 20 minutes at a time. Gets super hot. I do circuit training so it’s working perfectly for me so far. 7. Advice, don’t man handle it.

Use it in stride and you will enjoy your workouts. And it will last a long time. I’m praying it will last a long time. We shall see. Good luck with your weight loss journeys.

An incline rower may not look very intimidating, but even for someone who lives a pretty active lifestyle, this is an incredible exercise! The incline provides an opportunity to work different muscle groups, while also providing an exercise progression.

Just a few minutes at one of the higher settings is enough to get your heart pumping and have you feel like you are trying out for Team USA Crew. The machine came with easy setup instructions. There was a booklet, but also an easy-access QR code for a video with someone actually going through the setup steps with you.

This is the route we took, and we found it to be an extremely easy and enjoyable experience. After a few weeks of using this machine, I feel confident that my wife and I would be fit enough to help Washington cross the Delaware.

I’ve owned two Total Gyms, one bought in 2000, and a Fit Plus bought in 2020, and both have served me VERY well. The Fit Plus more so, simply due to it’s updated features and add-ons. Every workout is fun, challenging, and different, which is a key positive of the Total Gym.

So when I saw the Inclined Row for sale, and I was looking for a rower, I absolutely KNEW I had to give it a try, as Total Gym already had a solid track record with me. I gambled and WON! This Inclined Rower is a BLAST, and everything I expected from a Total Gym product.

Built remarkably well, easy to assemble and set up, and easy to fold and store away when not in use. I was a little worried at first that there are only 6 levels of resistance, as my Fit Plus has 14, but right now, level 2 is a great workout for me (I haven’t even tried any higher levels yet), so I’m no longer worried about me “outgrowing” this rower by it becoming too easy any time soon.

I’m about 200 lbs, for reference, and fit for my age. Although it’s only a rower, there are a variety of exercises you can do with it, including biceps curl and twists, like my Total Gym, so I see no problem with keeping workouts fresh.

And the inclined movement, which is what sets it apart from traditional rowers, is SO MUCH FUN!! Such a great leg workout, as well as arm, back, and shoulder. Assembly was a breeze, and able to be done by one person.

There’s even a video you can access which aids in your assembly and set-up. It has two safety pins, not just one as on Total Gyms, which is added piece of mind that the rower is safe to board and use.

The cable movement isn’t as whisper quiet as magnetic resistance, but still VERY quiet and not an issue at all. It’s exactly comparable to the cable and seat rail movement of a Total Gym, if you own one of those.

Also a VERY smooth gliding motion. I see getting many good years of use out of this rower, and all my other Total Gym products. I hope you do, too! I’m so happy I bought it! Thank you for reading my review :-).

My Total Gym Incline Row is proving to be far better than I ever thought. Smooth, dead quiet, and after a gentle warmup. building reps ! The variety of what you can do so quickly is a pleasure. Suggestion: I think you might find there are many customers who could benefit from having a 24 inch wide footpad.

It would allow skiers, surfers, bike riders, etc. to widen their stance, and actually get those hip muscles so critical for our sports. Just a thought. Thanks for a marvelously productive piece of perfection !!!.

I purchased this rower and I am disappointed because it has the resistance of two 10 lb dumbbells at the highest setting. I’ve called customer service several times and them did a little trouble shooting.

The last time I called I told them the level 16 which is the highest resistance and feels like 10 pound dumbbells and they said that is basically correct. When I call they say I need to talk to someone in a higher customer service level and do more trouble shooting or they won’t take it back and they consider it buyers remorse.

Then no one contacts me. James wa supposed to call me last week. I feel like they are avoiding following through with me so the return time runs out and I am stuck with it. I explained this isn’t buyers remorse it just doesn’t have challenging resistance.

There are videos showing a fit model using it to work out and to basically do leg presses with it. There is no way this model is getting a work out at her fitness level. This coupled with there return avoidance when they claim to offer returns if you aren’t satisfied causes me to feel they are engaging in false advertising.

While this machine appeared to be a good choice for me (full body extension and very quiet for those of us in a condo. ,) the one I received was NOT the same as the picture indicating a silver frame over the front of the unit.

Mine was plain black plastic and cracked at the lower front where the two slides come together. It appears to me that this was the previous version of the one online and that the silver overlay was for added protection to prevent cracking in that area.

Other than that, it appears fine. I spent a lot of time with customer service about my dilemma, but they are not able to call the vendor directly to ensure that I will get the one I ordered. Personally, I would think that QVC would be very concerned that a vendor was not providing the product that they had contracted to sell to their customers.

I have never experienced anything like this before. I may not have liked an item once I received it, but have always received the item that I ordered. I am trying to get this issue in Corporate’s hands because I may not be the only person who received and paid for a cheaper version.

Please make sure that your SPM Magnetic Rower has the silver frame as shown on your order confirmation. Mine may have been an oversight, but since the Company has not returned my calls yet, one wonders? The reviews look great, so I am hoping that QVC and Sunny Health & Fitness can resolve this issue quickly and make a valued customer happy.

Fairly easy to put together. Seems good quality, however the resistance at the highest setting is not very difficult and I am probably below average strength for my age/size. My husband tried to use it and it was a joke.

He didn’t get any type of workout from it. Unfortunately their return policy is also subpar. They only allow you to return if it’s unopened. And sometimes you have to pay $200. Ridiculous. For something that you have to buy online to try it out, the return policy should be much smoother for the customer.

I wouldn’t recommend buying this product.

Dear Hammacher Schlemmer, after finding your website by chance and placing my order, I was not sure what was going to show up at my door. I saw your “Institute” had tested it. Being a mechanic all my life your description of its construction and materials caught my attention.

Still I was skeptical. What also caught my attention was the old guy rowing (no offense to the old guy, I’m 61) No young chiseled athletic types! Perfect! Due to our current health situation, the gym was not a great place to be anymore.

So home rower it is, and after many months of waiting (due to decreased manufacturing capabilities. ) and multiple updates from your excellent customer service team, it arrived. It was beyond my expectations.

The Institute has affirmed its credibility with me, and I am more than satisfied with this product and your description thereof! Easy assembly, solid, quiet, folds easily, I could not be happier. Now I can exercise in the safety of my own home.

I saw the ad for the rower in a Sunday newspaper Parade Magazine advert before Christmas. It caught my eye. I used to go to the gym, pre-pandemic, and my favorite piece of equipment was the rowing machine.

Even with the deluge of orders, the box arrived only a little later than expected. My husband put it together for me with no issues. It fits snugly in a corner in our bedroom and takes up little room when folded up.

The mechanism is very smooth and the tension knob provides as much or as little resistance as a full-sized gym rower. This is not a lightweight machine – it has substantial weight to it but it is easy to maneuver into position after being folded up.

I could not be more pleased with this purchase. A great investment for a great price.

This rower is great. The divot for putting a tablet on while you’re rowing is perfectly place so you can see your device well while rowing and still keep an eye on your progress. It’s a smooth rowing experience, quiet, doesn’t move around.

2 caveats: the highest tension doesn’t feel all that tight, so I don’t feel like I have much margin for strength improvement and it doesn’t really fold all that well to save space, in that you can’t stand it on its end and really get it out of the way.

You can fold up long rowing portion perpendicularly, but that involves removing pieces that risk getting lost and doesn’t really economize space all that well. Assembly, however, was super easy.

The WaterRower is a great cardio workout machine with a smooth, realistic feel.

Love this machine. Great workout, love the feel of the paddles in the water, which is uberrealistic and like real paddling and I love the finish and quality. Also, it’s made in USA.

I did a lot of research before buying this rower and I was nervous that it would not be worth the price. I absolutely love it, and I have no regrets.

Maybe I just landed the 1 in 1000 rower here, but I ordered 2 for my small commercial gym and one came damaged. It was not damaged from shipping, but came with a faulty wire in the generator attached to the fly wheel.

I went to row it for the first time and a message came up saying the sensor was damaged and needed to be replaced. I’m currently in the process of disassembling the unit to replace the sensor and wire that attaches it.

This isn’t the quickest of undertakings, and the directions sent by concept are lackluster at best. I’ve wasted time, effort and aggravation on this and Rogue has really dropped the ball. I’m told my case will be “reviewed for compensation” for the inconvenience once I fix the unit myself.

Things happen, and no company is perfect I totally understand that. But in the email chain with Rogue and Concept neither one has apologized for the inconvenience which I find very disappointing and odd quite frankly.

The directions say to avoid bending or kinking the wire, and when I opened it up the wire had been quite mangled. I would have guessed the first thing to be emailed back would have been “We apologize for selling you a damaged unit.

” but I guess not. Best I got was “thanks for reaching out to us about this” which is probably the oddest response I can think of. Of course I’m going to reach out about a defective unit you sold me.

The shame of it is I sold two perfectly functioning Perform Better rowers to make room for these. I never post negative reviews, but this has not been an enjoyable experience.

This item is considered a gold standard for a reason when it comes to rowing machine. I couldn’t suggest it more. The construction is sturdy. It separates in the center (seat slide and row bar sections) for easy storage.

I don’t have high ceilings, that 96″ is too long to just stand it up. Ultimately, it takes up slighty more floor space than a kitchen chair when storing it this way. The PM5 connects perfectly to my phone without issue and the ErgData app is great for tracking your progress.

You can also use the a UBS drive to do the same tracking and with this there is no chance you accidentally leave it in the Rower at the gym. The question of whether it’s a good value is highly subjective though.

This is hands down the single most expensive piece of fitness equipment I have ever purchased. But this is one of the best forms of exercise you can get, so for me it’s worth it. But if you aren’t sure you like rowing or looking for something new you haven’t tried, it may be financially prudent to buy a cheap rower to start.

I’m not personally a fan of spending a lot of money on something and having it become a clothing rack that sits in the corner. But if you know you will commit to using this rower on a regular basis, it’s easy money to spend.

I got into rowing maybe in the middle of 2019. It’s physically demanding, it’s easily trackable with this machine so you can see your progress in your distance or strokes per minute metrics, and it’s basically no impact on your joints.

But then came Covid19 and the gyms shut down for a good portion of the year. During the summer I walked every day and hiked quite a bit on weekend, but since winter has come my ability to stay fit has been greatly diminished.

I tried using a rowing machine in the gym but the requirement to wear a mask really hurts it as exercise. Within a few minutes you are gulping for air as the mask completely obstructs your airway when doing anything that makes you breath heavy.

So, I took the plunge, and after my first day of using my own Concept2 Rower, I knew I made the right decision. If you could buy it from the manufacturer you would probably save yourself about a third of the cost, but that isn’t remotely an option now.

I couldn’t suggest it more so long as you actually commit to this form of exercise.

I’ve been using RowErg regularly in my gym as a part of my cardio mix before the pandemic hit. Then, all of a sudden, it become inaccessible. I hoped I’d survive on my home stationary bike alone. But soon enough, I started really missing my upper body being disengaged and the smooth motion of flawless Concept2.

I’m not a buff pro or even a sport junkie. Just a regular guy who wants to keep whatever the life claims back due to age and wear and tear. But one doesn’t have to be a scientist to know the difference right away when comparing rowing ergonometers.

Concept2 is a way to go regardless of how cute and pretentious the others are. Air provides the best dynamic resistance, and there’s nothing else out there that does it so long and so well as Concept2.

Yes, it is on the noisier side of the spectrum of market offerings. But there might be just few who’d wish the fan could be quieter because most of my fellow exercisers nowadays rarely jump on a cardio erg without a pair of good cans anyway.

My only quip as an Apple watch junkie is that there’s no direct , free, or easy way to use it’s heart rate monitor capacity with Concept2. All third party apps that work require-well-third party involvement and a little more of dough.

Those that come free, fail to connect with PM5 reliably, necessitating investment in chest-belted devices or other, presumably better monitoring watches. Regardless, I’m in my second or third (I truly don’t care how long I’ve had my Erg as a homebody) month of projected ownership (thank you, Rogue Fitness and PayPal, the only trusted seller of trusted equipment that offers no interest installment plan) and am thoroughly enjoying Concept2 as my cardio pal.

Did I mention it snaps in two parts for storage and locks back to work in a matter of seconds? I have no doubt that regardless how far I rank on the group competition rosters or as a user, I’m a winner just by owning this refined, time-proven and durable and hard working Concept2.

Funny that it’s a kind of misnomer at that because being refined, time-proven and durable ergonometer it’s not really a concept anymore.

Upon arrival the unit had scratches on it, and one of the parts was already put together, making it seem like it was a refurbished rower, so really disappointed in that. really light, and moves on the floor if you try to row hard.

The lcd screen is really hard to see, and really cheap, especially since we are in 2022, and screens are fairly cheap, I feel as though this company took it to the next level. The rower itself was easy to put together, and the exercise is smooth.

If the screen was updated, and had a little more options, (which once again, its 2022, is not hard to do for hardly any cost at all), I would give it another star. The velcro needs to be longer for different size feet, in our experience, if you have shoes on with a smaller sole, you cannot use your legs to pull yourself back in the starting position because the straps will not hold your feet in place.

The resistance is adequate, but if you are stronger, it really provides no resistance. If you updated the things that I have listed, your machine would be phenomenal.

Good: Assembly instructions were very clear. Easy to use. Bad: Plastic seam seemed to come apart at first attempt to use. The monitor screen is very, very basic. At the highest setting, the tension is lower than most rowers I’ve been on’s, lowest setting.

This cannot be used directly on hard surfaces, you must have a mat or carpet, it will slide and slides far. If you’re someone that likes to watch workout videos or put in your airpods and go, keep in mind there is nowhere to set anything on this rower.

Overall, I would say (if the plastic hadn’t come apart) this would be a good rower for someone that is just starting their fitness journey, or a teenager. It is EXTREMELY basic, hence the price.

Easy to put together. I managed to do it all on my own. The only help I needed was just my son’s insight that you have to pick up on the main horizontal bar to slide it onto the channel on the front half of the rower.

I was trying to put it in straight but it needed to be lifted to slip in the whole way before screwing down the knob that’s in front of the seat. At first I wondered if the resistance would be challenging enough but it became obvious that if you only row a few pulls to try it out you’re not getting a good representation on the resistance.

After actually rowing for 10 minutes it became clear that the rower gives a good workout. I’m confident I’m going to enjoy it.

I received the rower quickly and without any damage. My nephew helped me put it together, and it was actually fairly simple. I thought filling it with water was going to be messy, but it was not at all.

I really like that it’s made primarily of wood, and it matches the furniture in my cabin. I like to support companies that make their products in the USA. The sound of the water when you “row” is very soothing.

I’m in my mid 40s, and I have bad knees from running all the time when I was younger. This machine is a very good low impact workout.

I bought the Rower through JL. As usual good service with JL. On assembly, the sensor failed to align. I contacted water rower and they immediately understood the fault – A spacer issue, which if it’s a known problem, why dont they just remedy it? Since then, I have replaced the housing to the monitor, it’s very flimsy.

Then bought a new sensor loom. And now on to buying a replacement tank because the seals became too brittle with age and failed. The massive spares list on the water rower website says it all, Yes, ALL those items can and do break.

Compare that to the market leader, which only needs to supply and handful of spares. I bought the water rower for its looks, and it does great, but if want a long term serious fitness machine, then go for the other brand.

The rower comes in 2 boxes, and the assembly requires 2 people. There is online video showing how to assemble the rower, and I would advise to loosely attach the nuts and bolts to allow all components lined up before tightening.

The resistance is controlled by how much water you fill into the tank. The operation is reasonably quiet. After 6 month use, there is very little wear and tear, probably due to very few moving parts in a minimalist design.

The S4 monitor can be used to record training sessions and linked to computer to join a race online. However, I hardly ever use this function, as I use rower just to keep healthy rather than competition.

There is a SmartRow meter you can purchase separately to link the rower to your smart phone, if you are serious athletes. For storage, the rower can be easily stood up and put in the corner of the room.

There are wheels in the front of the rower to allow easy moving. My rower is in storage position by default, and I lay it down when I use it. The whole setting up before using and storage after exercise only take 10s.

There are a couple of water cleaning tablets included and more can be ordered. The only maintenance required is to put tablets into the water tank every 6 months. Overall, I like the design of WaterRower, simple and effective.

I’m just starting into the rowing machine world of fitness. I decided to take a chance on this to see if I’ll enjoy this type of exercise. I do. I opted to get this rower for a couple of reasons. #1- The cost.

I would rather spend $300-$400 on a piece of equipment to find out if I will use it as often as I hope I will, and wear it out, before I spend $700+ on a piece of equipment that will only end up as another clothes hanger (you get the idea).

#2. Noise. I’m in apartment and noise was a big concern for me. If I decide to do a workout at 4am because I can’t sleep, I know I won’t wake the neighbours. I’ve had this for about a week now and rowing 15 mins every second day (resistance 4) and I’m huffing and puffing at the end.

I’ve got a long way to go before I’m at 40+ mins at resistance 8. So far I couldn’t be happier with this machine.

Great little machine for the price! Perfect for someone who is just getting into working out but doesn’t want the stress on joints (ankles, knees) and who may or may not have a great outdoor space to walk daily.

Quiet to use (just 2 weeks into using it). Easy-ish to assemble. Took me about an hour. Biggest complaint about assembly is that the instructions refer to nuts, bolts, and washers by item numbers (1) that are slightly different than how they appear on the packaging and (2) that disappear when you try to open the package.

How about making the nuts, bolts, & washers different colors OR showing the item numbers on the plastic instead of the cardboard/paper background? Glad I found this and I’m hoping it lasts a long time with proper care.

Easy to build and use!! I wish the tension went higher than an 8, however for the price and quality, this rowing machine is awesome!! Took 20mins to build Alone. Stands up and stores away easily Seat gets uncomfortable after about 20minutes but it’s usually near end of my workout anyways.

Some of you may want a pillow or to buy an additional padded seat. The machine glides nicely, and works just as well as the overpriced machines they’re selling these days. Highly recommend to anyone starting out and wanting a good little machine that’s easy to use.

If you’re harder into fitness, this is probably Not the machine for you as the tension doesn’t go higher than an 8 (which isn’t that much).

The rower arrived much earlier than we expected. It was easy to put together. The tools were included and the directions were easy to follow. I’ve used it every day since it arrived and I’m very happy with it.

It operates very smoothly and I feel like I’m getting an excellent workout. Extremely happy with this rower!.

This is an excellent rowing machine for home gym. I’ve used the high end rowing machines at gyms, and this is just as good as the high end rowing machines at gyms. It also comes with great warranty and support from the manufacturing.

I’m very pleased with this rower. It has 8 resistance and rowing 2000 meter on level 4, gives you a great workout. The seat is also very comfortable and has a great cushion. I highly recommend this rower for a home gym.

Love this machine! It’s more fun than you’d imagine. It’s a great workout, but it’s so fun you almost forget you are working out! This works perfectly in our home gym, and my husband and I both use it regularly.

I am small 5 foot 2, 160 lbs. My husband is 6 foot 2 and closer to 280 lbs. It works well for both of us. Very happy with this purchase! The price, quality, ease of use, and fast shipping are all well worth it for us!.

If I were to rate this machine based on its rowing action, it is a full 5 star. I purchased this after checking on multiple machines among which none resembles the actual rowing motion. When you are rowing you lift the oars from the water and place them forward and into the water and then pull the oars handles toward your body.

It’s never towards your body always like most of the highly priced rowing machines do. This machine has arms that pivot at 3 spots to almost mimic the actual rowing motion. I am still learning how to use it properly but this will help your whole arms, shoulder joints, upper body muscles well.

My only concern is about the resistance being hydraulic based since I have never used one and am not sure how long they will last. I hope they stand the test of time and numerous exercise routines. To me, the resistance levels are better from 8 and above.

Maybe that’s because I am expecting to get stronger quicker. It is light enough to be moved around. The seat is good and glides so smoothly. Set up was easy enough. For this price, you cannot get a piece of better equipment.

I hope the company will try figuring out a good flywheel-based resistance mechanism (not sure if that would make a difference). If you are looking for an almost identical rowing action from your rowing machine, this is it.

I do not think there is another machine that does so. And you do not need to shell out a fortune. I am sure I will like it even better once I figure out how to use my legs and breathing properly to have a proper workout with this machine.

This is one of the best purchases I have made in years. Really – the arm motion makes all the difference in the world. I liked to row boats years ago but most machines have you pulling chest-ward only.

This machine has the actual motions of what it is like to row a real boat – meaning that all of the upper arm is used. At 62, this is important to me, especially that full range for shoulders – very relaxing.

I started at 6 and am still there. Rowing is very pleasurable, and this machine makes that happen. Stamina is the goal here, and it provides that challenge in spades while providing what I can only say is fun! I love this machine.

Sometimes I just sit down and row while I am thinking about something, outside my program. Assembly: I did it myself in one hour, no problems. Just follow the instructions as presented. I am up to 12 minutes after just 10 days and can already see the fitness returning to my arms and shoulders.

My back and legs already feel better, tighter. I normally rely on my physically challenging job to keep me in shape, but with the covid and the place shut down until who knows when, I needed an activity not hard on ho-s, and this machine is it for me.

My hips actually feel stronger, not painful. Also my lower back feels good, the gentle persistence of daily rowing is strengthening my core, and all the while the rowing is just fun. I listen to pod casts and imagine myself on a cool lake, and pretty soon the minutes are up but sometimes I just keep on, because it feels so good! And that’s all I have to say about that.

Do yourself a favor: be good to yourself. Treat yourself like someone you love. Exercise is good for the body, mind and soul.

This was the best investment for myself and I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking about purchasing a rowing machine. It is easy to put together even for an older woman. We can do this! I have it right in front of the TV so I can use while I’m watching shows and not paying attention to my workout.

The full motion handle bars are just like rowing, smooth rowing motion. The machine is actually quiet as well. Pedal straps are easy on/easy off for shoes. The only complaint I have is there were screws missing for the tracking device but since I don’t use it, I have no issues.

Five star rating in my book!.

I’ve had this machine for only a few weeks so I cannot attest to its long-term durability but what I’ve seen so far is very positive. Assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow (the only exception being a little difficulty fitting the cup holder, of all things).

The kit includes all the necessary hardware, tools and accessories. It took me a little over an hour to put the machine together. As advertised, the machine has multiple settings to measure a workout but if you don’t want to fiddle with them, it is already programmed to display the basics — distance, calories, time, strokes and so forth.

The machine is comfortable to use, almost deceptively so as I overdid it the first time out. Some years back, I had inherited a high-end brand (i. e. , very expensive) rowing machine, which I eventually sold.

The Stamina 1130 works just as well, is lighter, takes up a lot less space, and comes at a very reasonable price. In sum, I’m very pleased with this purchase and look forward to using the machine for a long time to come.

And one more thing: I contacted Stamina about an issue (turns out I had overlooked something, so it was my bad); Customer Service answered my call immediately and promptly took action to resolve the issue.

I have had this machine for over a year now and it works flawlessly. I use it everyday in the morning for about 30 mins to get a great start for the day. It is fairly easy to move around, easy to setup and use.

The pedals and velcro straps are a little cheap looking but they work. The heartbeat monitor strap is not very useful – needs physical contact with the body across the chest and does not starting working reliable till you build up a sweat.

The magnetic resistance works flawlessly, it is virtually noiseless, and the built in programs are a breeze to use. Not too expensive either. Low footprint is an added advantage. You cannot go wrong with this purchase – my 2 cents worth!.

I purchased the Stamina 1130 rower after reading a number of professional reviews. The item was received, packaged well, within 4 days of my order. The box wasn’t really heavy so I could get it to my basement easily.

(I am a 65 year old female. ) I uncrated all the parts and did a quick inventory. The assembly instructions were straightforward. They included the tools needed for assembly. I was able to assemble the rower within an hours time.

The rower is sturdy and worked well. My only criticism would be that they chintzed on the quality of the foot straps (velcro strips) which I restrung to the bottom slots for ease and comfort. I’ve done 3 workouts thus far, all presets: Fat burning, Intervals and today I did the Target Heart Rate workout, using the heart rate monitor that comes with the machine.

In each workout you could definitely feel the difference in resistance as the programs adjusted it during each interval. If you do not specify a time, the presets will last 36 minutes with intervals of 3 mins.

The programs really work you! The rowing action is smooth so you can easily get into a rhythm. I normally work out on a treadmill, elliptical, exercise bike and bowflex, so I’m reasonably fit. I was using the bowflex for rowing prior to this.

The Stamina 1130 is much better and I now find myself gravitating to this machine as my preferred equipment. I highly recommend this product.

This is my second pair. The first pair was prescribed to me by my podiatrist before my bunion surgery. I have continued to use them in post surgery phase. For all new users you need to allow your feet to get used to being reshaped on how you walk and run.

Ever notice when you buy a pair of running shoes or any shoes you are paying $80-150/pair or more, the insole in the shoes are worth about $0. 50 ? Well the mfg wont give you quality insoles in cheaper or more expensive shoes because they know that quality insoles will increase the life to the shoe since you will likely wear them properly and not buy more pairs of shoes.

Try these out. Don’t stack the insoles as many tend to do, if the old ones are glued in , work them out ot replace them with these. Give them a little time to get your arches get use to them and you will probably never look back.

Your calves and heels may cry a little in the beginning since you are shifting the “footprint” of your step which will transfer the changes in your joints and muscle up your ankles and calves and maybe even knees.

It is ok, as you have even using those muscles and joints to compensate for poor walking habits anyways and they are just thanking you.

If you have pain on the bottom of you feet and/or your ankle, I highly recommend getting these because they are worth it. I could not be happier with these because they took my pain away. I am so grateful to those who commented on these and got me to buy them.

I ordered this off of Amazon about 2 weeks ago after researching the different rowers. Would have liked the C2, but that was not in my budget. I needed something to get me back in shape. I have a bad lower back with a pinched nerve that effects my right hip, and I needed to strengthen my left knee from knee surgery.

I remember when I was going to the “Y” I gravitated to the rower and really liked it. After about 3 days of missing the UPS man, I picked it up from UPS. It took me about 2 hours to put together. Could have done it in less time if it weren’t for the fact I was yak’n on the cell phone at the same time I was putting it together.

I’m just under 5’5″ and this is the right size (I think it was made for short person). Head phones go on and I get to rowing. I get the workout I need and not a lot of stress on lower back and knees and I can tell a big difference in my hip.

Yes, the fan is noisy, but that’s ok. The only problems I have is that the seat is a little uncomfortable and I wish the monitor had a light and those are the reasons why I’m only giving it 4 stars I’m just sorry that others starting having problems right out of the box.

We really enjoy using out 35-1405D rower – have only had it several weeks. We feel that long term the rowing will be very beneficial. The rower is very well made and high quality materials were used.

Assembly was easy – took about 45 minutes. Convenient that all tools needed for assembly were included in the package. We ordered this rower online from Home Depot, and had it delivery to our local store.

We picked the rower up at the store, and were very pleased with the pick up process and the Home Depot employees were most helpful. We would highly recommend this Stamina Rower.

We’ll hardware the washers were bent. I had pieces i didn’t need and pieces missing. Very difficult to assemble when things aren’t organized. I can’t even get machine to fold because I’m missing screws! So i have it against wall in the air because i live in an apartment.

It arrived delayed also. For money it wasn’t worth the issues.

It is a good machine for the value, especially for those who is not “exercise fanatic” and use it moderately to stay in shape. My only “pet peeve” is that machine is too low to the floor and even adjusting foot lever doesn’t help much, so when you sit down – you really need to bend those knees and really get down (hence, only 4 stars).

But I am 67 years young. Maybe it’s not an issue for someone younger. But in general, I am using it every day (sometimes twice a day) and really enjoying it!.

This rower definitely exceeded my expectations. I was afraid I wouldn’t like it as much as the one at my gym, but you can’t beat it for the price. The rower has an elastic band, which I feel gives you more resistance and the seat is lower to the ground and at an incline so my leg muscles definitely feel like they are working harder.

Fantastic rowing machine – great timber finish. Assembly instructions are provided and easy to follow – takes about 20 minutes to unbox and put together, and then another 5-10 minutes to fill with water.

The weight of the machine is surprisingly light for a machine it’s size which helps with storing it upright. The sound of the water is not as loud as you would expect and is actually quite calming! For beginners, I would recommend starting out with it as-is and see how you go before you start adding the accessories (like Bluetooth module etc) to it.

A disaster. The water tank came defective (water was spilling out and not just drops but big splash): not properly sealed. The resistance of the machine was almost non-existent. Not fit for purpose. In the process of returning the item now (it has been requested).

Of all the equipment used in the gym, my favourite is the rower for its low impact, whole body workout. After reviewing the various types we chose the Waterrower for three reasons; it had to live in the house and not look like a bit of gym equipment laying around; it was endorsed by British Rowing which gave confidence it was a quality item; it was said to be quiet to use.

Waterrower has delivered on all counts. Powerhouse Fitness delivered the machine on time. It was easy to assemble and the quality of build is evident from its use. There’s a real pleasure to using Waterrower with the sound of water rushing around adding to the experience.

The machine stores upright and is unobtrusive when put away, looking not unlike a beech bookshelf unit at eye height. Overall, very impressed and well worth spending the extra over alternatives.

My Hydrow was just delivered to our rural home (4 hours from the closet Best Buy). My husband came home from work and set it up in less than 30 mins and I have just finished my first workout. Why did it take me so long to decide to get this?!! This addition to my house is an absolute game changer.

The price kept me trying to find a cheaper version for the same quality and experience… I couldn’t find it so I thought with my 30 day return I would be safe enough. Let me tell you I am not every returning this and you will not find it in my garage sale! Delivery – I live rural and thought this could be an issue but it was fine.

There could use a bit more communication but honestly, it was a non issue. Packaging – best wrap job ever. Absolutely no damage. Machine Set Up – as I said my husband set it up in 30 minutes. I would not have been able to do it alone so single woman that are not farm girls or body builders… you may need a bit of help as it is extremely heavy.

Tablet Set Up – so simple. 5 minutes to update and another 3 mins to set up my account First Workout – incredible!!! Interactive. workouts for every level and the selection of workout instructors and they are awesome as I went through a few workouts and locations.

I don’t have to get ready for the gym… I just hop on and buckle up! Anyone on the fence due to cost, membership and wonder if it is worth it… I honest recommend this row machine. With the interactiveness it’s like it is calling my name and it is the perfect cross training partner for my bike in the summer.

I chose the Hydro over the Peloton because I have a bike for the summer and I want to cross train as well as you use 86% of your muscles which is way more than stationary biking.

The machine itself seems perfect. It’s “on display” in my home but I don’t mind because of the beautiful design. It’s simple and just works. Setup was surprisingly easy. I was able to do *almost* all of it on my own.

Beware that it comes in a VERY large cardboard box with a lot of interior stabilization (mostly made of recyclable corrugated, which pleased me. ) Of couse, without the subscription to the video workouts it’s just a boring rower, but the videos are just fantastic.

You can do workouts with trainers or just virtually rowing beautiful waterways. You forget that you’re on a machine. I actually look forward to working out and I feel like I get a really good workout without being sore.

If I had one request it would be to redesign the upright storage so it is easier to do. I thought I’d be able to fold it up before and after workouts, but in reality it’s a two person job, so that’s only going to happen when company is coming.

If you’re thinking about a Hydrow, do it. You won’t regret it.
