17 Best Cheap Speed Cubes (2022 Updated)

The puzzle has a fast and plush feel. Coming from a galaxy v2 m, it was a bit too fast for me at first. However, once I got used to it, the puzzle was perfect for me. Corner cutting is sub-par. You will have to adjust the tensions though because it can be uncontrollable at times.

The only issue I’ve had with this cube however, was that if I dropped the cube by accident, the magnet comes out. I have lost 1 magnet till now. This is not too big of an issue though but is definitely something to consider before buying.

Also, I would recommend it only if you are currently unhappy with your main and are serious about megaminx, because it isn’t worth the cost otherwise.

Seriously it’s my main now its the best megaminx on the market which is released by gan the magnets are as same as the gan 354M and out of the box it feels quite gummier but after few solves it became fast.

Smooth turning, amazing corner cutting, good magnets and very easy to tension. The corner caps were a bit of a challenge to get off, but overall another amazing GAN cube. Would recommend.

It is really good- Loved this cube! Once you get the hang of it, it turns very easily. Algorithms are quick to learn. This cube would be a great beginners cube, and can be suitable for most ages!

My son loves this cube so much. Gan cubes are so nice and finding out that it came with a pouch was such a surprise and made him so happy. He solved it pretty quickly and is already getting under 20 second solves, would def recommend.

I purchased this for my daughter and it was exactly what she expected. Very pleased for the first couple of days, but then she was running with it and dropped it on a tile floor. Sucker shattered all over the place, it was impressive.

I got lucky with this one. I had no idea it would be my grandson’s favorite.

This cube is good for beginners and I mean only beginners. Don’t use this for the later stages when you get better. The corner cutting is terrible, it’s kinda filmsy since it has no magnets. All in all try to spend 4 dollar more for the rsm3 2020 its wayyyy better.

Great budget cube! The only problem is the alignment. It overshoots a bit too much when you’re speed solving. Also, I would definitely prefer Gan full-bright shades to the muted colors on this cube. But for $4 it’s pretty hard to beat.

I like the corner cutting, the smooth turning, and the slightly grainy feel of the pieces. (It’s actually easier to grip than the Gan 356X. ) A great choice for beginning cubers!.

Great 3×3! I’m not a speed cuber, but I’ve been solving twisty puzzles since early 2014 and have owned 100+ puzzles to date. I don’t know if this is the fastest cube on the market or not, but it’s certainly a very high quality cube.

It turns very smoothly, feels very solid and well built, and looks great.

Fluid movement like a water, very comfortable to solve it on its highest speed…

Bought as gifts and they are played with lots, the kids love them.

I’m just blown away by the performance of the Cube. I cannot describe the feel of the cube it’s very fast yet very controllable and Core magnets just feel completely different than any other cube and core magnets also makes the cube very stable.

The cube weighs just 63grms and you can actually feel the difference it makes. Turning is very light, smooth and algorithms just flies by. I’ve never enjoyed cubing this much. The turning of cube is very enjoyable.

I’ve WRM20 but the feeling is completely different than that it’s more stable and controllable than the WRM. To be honest WRM is way faster for me which makes it unstable and I overshoot a lot. But 11M Pro is also very fast but due to core magnets I can still control the cube.

Although I’m not the fastest cuber out there and I cannot use the full potential of both the Cubes as I’m just at Sub 18 A05. The cubes have much more to offer it’s just my skills are lacking. But I enjoy 11M Pro way more than my any other cube.

Corner Cutting is good it can cut 45° with ease and above 45° with some effort but it depends on your settings which can be customised as per your need. Reverse is best I’ve ever seen. Although it don’t lock up if you have somewhat accurate turning but for rough it may lockup a little and not always.

Magnetic Strength you can feel the difference between Weak to Strong easily, I haven’t tried the hexagonal magnets provided in the box as default medium magnet strength works best for me. But it has soo many customisable options it literally has a setting for every person you just have to find it.

Yes it’s very expensive but if you are ready to play with the different settings and explorer what it has to offer and you like the Gan Feeling than Think no more this is the best you can get.

I have started cubing just few months back. This is my first Gan cube. I will compare this to rs3m. This cube is amazingly very light to turn and feels amazing. I have the soft version, it is very comfortable to hold but it doesn’t have much grip.

I will update this review after some time to compare the grip. Frankly I didn’t experience much improvement in solving time but it feels very comfortable to turn. Just get a RS3m and save money. This cube has some cons, it locks up after 45 degrees and while turning there is some catching up with the edges at the finish of turn.

Overall get this cube for Gan experience rather than for gain in performance.

I have been cubing for 2 years and this was my first magnetic 3×3 cube. Was using a very old Dyan Zanchi till now, the switch from non magnetic to a magnetic cube was just amazing. Just the weightlessness of the gan 11 m pro combined with the strong magnets and the core to corner magnets feels so good to move, the m slices feel like butter.

The corner cutting is exceptional and the cube has not popped even once for me in factory setting, no need to lube it out of the box as of now. The cube is just too good, worth the money I spent on it, still haven’t even gone through the customising option yet, the default settings were good.

Eventually i changes the magnet strength to the highest coz that felt much more stable. Love the cube :D.

We’re Rubik’s Cube fans as my son runs a college cubing club and my wife teaches an after-school class and pre-COVID, ran student tournaments. We also like Perplexus maze puzzles. So we were excited to find this in the store after we had already purchased the 2×2 Rubik’s Perplexus Hybrid.

While you may think these Rubik’s Perplexus cubes would solve, they don’t, per se. This 3×3 Rubik’s Perplexus Fusion doesn’t in that there is no way to arrange all the cubes so that all maze tracks are in the numerical solved order intended for the ball to travel from start to finish.

Worse: while the 2×2 has eight sub cubes that twist just like a normal Rubik’s 2×2 does, albeit stiffly, on three planes of rotation, this 3×3 does not rotate on six directional planes like it should, but only two.

There is but three levels–top, middle, bottomwith the illusion of being 27 sub cubes. With both Rubik’s Perplexus puzzles there is no completely solved maze order. To explain: If the cube could be solved so that all maze tracks could be in the right order, then it would be a better “double activity”: first solving the cube to have the layers arranged in the right order and position; and then completing the full Perplexus maze with all its challenging obstacles.

Given that the order numbers aren’t super easy to read, then, it adds frustration because you’re trying to hold the ball on the maze in place while trying to notice which piece has to rotate to connect to it.

Also not helpful is that it doesn’t twist very smoothly. As it is, what it has is a numerical order for the maze segments and you will have to move the cube layers mid-maze to have the maze connect and proceed in its intended order.

(The instruction booklet contains an ordered maze color map to help aid, which is partially useful given how hard to read the little numbers on the track are. ) WHILE moving the ball through the numbered maze obstacles, you will ALSO have to move and change the cube layers to get the maze temporarily and partially arranged in the right order.

The rotating part of the cube will frequently be the part of the maze you are working on. The tight turning mechanism, plus this “non-solved” design, makes the maze obstacles extra difficult and the ball more prone to falling.

(In other words you will be trying to hold the ball still at some rest point on the maze while trying to rotate the cube layers to get the track aligned to go on to the next correct part of the maze–much more tricky a balancing effort than a normal Perplexus puzzle.

) So it is WAY more frustrating than it needs to be, though an easier activity than the 2×2. Nor is it as elegant as it could have been designed– because its not a true Rubik’s Cube in how it moves.

That said, as Perplexus fans, this still is a fairly fun diversion. The 2×2 is the better design (being like a real Rubiks 2×2). I just wish there was more satisfaction to it were Rubik’s Perplexus Fusion better designed for being ‘solved’.

This is a fun and challenging new take on the Rubik’s Cube! There are different colored maze tracks on the inside of the cube and a little silver ball. You start the ball on the start line and move it through the tracks by moving the cubes to line up the tracks.

The tracks move numerically so you know which track to follow next. It’s quite tricky and challenging because you have to keep the little ball on the track or start all over again. My 8 year old has a great time with this and it’s a great toy to bring in the car with us or when we have to go somewhere and she needs to wait.

My husband has always been a huge Rubik’s Cube fan and can solve them fast. This new spin on the Rubik’s Cube kept him challenged and he really enjoyed playing with it too. It’s a fantastic toy to span the ages and holds up well.

Its a fun puzzle for any age really. This particular one is easy to use. Turns smoothly and doesnt click or lock up on a person when turning. I like how sturdy it feels with being heavy. The colours dont come off which ti me is a bonus.

Stickers always disappear but these are not going anywhere. Its a great gift idea for both the puzzle lovers, and those that never stop moving. Personally I like that I can put it down and just pick it up and go again.

The moment I unboxed and recieved this product, man I really knew it was going to be my new main. And without a shadow of a doubt, it did. It dropped my average by about 20 seconds (I came from an MF5S) and my pb finally hit that sub-2 mark.

I’d been using the MGC until I reached sub 1:30, but decided to get the valk so I didn’t get bored of 5×5 and wow was I impressed!! I’d heard it was amazing but this was mind blowing!! I don’t feel much difference in how well I can turn, I do get less pops though and less lockups.

I suggest both this and the MGC5 if you care at all about 5×5.

Right out of the box this cube is fast but still controllable. The magnet strength is perfect as well. It doesn’t really need any setup, but the inner layers do feel a bit dry out of the box. The cube feels really boxy and the corner-cutting is not bad.

If you’re willing to spend this much money, definitely get this cube if you’re looking for a 5×5.

I believe mine arrived defective. The white side feels jammed compared to the other five sides. The other sides turn effortlessly. If you’re used to the stiff default cube, it’ll take a few tries to get used to the low friction on this one, but it’ll shave off your solve time once you get the hang of it.

This cube has a way better feel and smoothness than my original Rubik’s cube. It never gets caught or stuck. I know nothing about speed cubing, but for an ordinary cuber this is a terrific product.

Much easier to manipulate than the original Rubik’s cube. It has barely been put down since it was opened on Christmas Day! Be aware that pieces can pop out if you get too carried away.

I was a bit apprehensive after reading reviews of different Rubik cubes online. Didn’t wanted to land myself into a bad quality Rubik cube. But this one raised the bar of my expectations. gives me an immense satisfaction to see my choice did not prove me wrong.

I am very happy with my purchase and my children and my spouse are having a real ultra fast speed experience. they have finished matching all 6 sides with this smooth turning cube. soon I’d be needing a 4 side and 5 side to fill their appetite.

I ordered one and it was great! So, i ordered another. Identical packaging but a slightly cheaper plastic and VERY poorly adjusted. Fortunately I knew how to adjust it. It was close to unusable out of the box.

Manufacturer has quality control problems, at least with the 2nd one i got. But overall I am please with them, especially the first one. You may have to watch a video on how to adjust it. It’s not hard but should not be necessary.

I remember the cube we had in the house growing up – sticky movement and it would always get caught on the adjacent layer when rotating it. Had something been spilled on it at some point – can’t say.

But this isn’t that cube. It said something about the world record being set with the same model on the box. Doesn’t matter. I’m not going to set the record. But for any level of use this is a sweet cube.

Super smooth movement and takes little effort. I’d buy it again for sure. Arrived in good shape and quickly.

Overall, this is a really good cube. It is a little clunky when you first take it out of the box. However, as you use the cube, it only seems to improve. After it is broken in, tye cube becomes very smooth.

As for any sort of corner cutting, there really isn’t that much. The cube hasn’t popped yet, and I am confident it won’t. The product arrived quickly. In fact, it came earlier than Ebay predicted.

Color stickers look cheap. Shows bubbles in few stickers when delivered. 4×4 is difficult to rotate. These are much smaller in size.

My son recieved this cube a month ago, within the first couple days, small pieces starting fallin out from inside the cube, now the cube locks, and the squares are falling out when spinning it. I wouldn’t recommend this brand of cube to anyone.

See I can understand that the cube’s price is wack but this cube is just worth it. I will try my best to describe the cube. It comes with a really smooth turning out of the box with a really fast and unique feel.

It also possesses great corner-cutting. It has decently strong magnets and I feel you don’t need to change the magnets in this for the customization. The magnet strength choice is already very good because of how smooth and light it feels.

I would personally recommend the normal version because of the different GES nuts which you would need because as the cube gets older it requires stronger springs. I would recommend the green springs set on 0.

8 but you can see what suits you better. In short, it is basically a gan x except for way cheaper. I have also used the rs3m 2020 and that cube feels a little slow and sluggish and the magnets feel a little too weak {AT LEAST FOR ME, YOU MAY COMPLETELY DISAGREE WITH ME FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF THE RS3M 2020} but this cube just has it all, It has a smooth feel, really fast turning, magnets are decently strong and the cube feels a lot stable because of that, it has got great corner cutting and it is really light to hold.

This Gan 356m(standard) has its unique “gan” feel and is quite premium. It corner cuts decently and is smooth. Would recommend this cube to apros and beginners alike. It comes with 4 types of ges and i prefer mine on the loose side so i use purple nuts at 0.

6 settings. The cube comes pre-installed with blue ges. It has matte finish that later turns into glossy with breaking in. Out of the box, its nice and buttery smooth.

The GAN 356 M is the Budget option of the GAN cubes even it is a budget cube it offers a premium feeling and I just recommend you to buy the normal version, not the lite version it is not a bad idea to add some extra money to add customizability.

In the normal version, it comes with the Ges nuts, with this unique system you can get the perfect turning feel which suits you. I Just BOught this cube to make it my main. there is no need to buy lubes with it coz it is soo well lubricated.

this is a good cube for newbies who are just entering 5×5. quite stable cube and worth for a price. its not that very fast but a best budget 5×5 magnetic.

Great corner cutting for a 5 by 5, amazingly smooth turning, you can easily do 3 by 3 algorithms involving m layers and brilliant size.

I got three cubes, the GANS Air, GANS Ultimate and The Valk 3 – Stickerless. I am a fan of stickerless puzzles, now that it is official in competitions, just can’t be bothered with sticker damages and restickering.

Out of the box, The Valk 3 was best setup than the GANS Air and Ultimate! The feeling of the Valk 3 is bit flimsy due to how light the plastics are, similar to GANS ultimate, but the turning, corner cutting > 45 deg, and how freaking fast it turns out of the box just beats the GANS models (the GANS i received at least) even after adjusting the tensions and re-lubing the GANS cubes.

Given the price difference between the GANS Ultimate and The Valk 3, I could have got two Valk 3 if i knew better. I Like the GANS Ultimate but The Valk 3 stickerless just wins it by the factors that i don’t appreciate in the GANS like poor stickers and.

So I have a full set of QiYi from 2×2 – 7×7 and bought this since I magnetized my Valk and wanted a non magnetic one to take in my bag that was electronics friendly. I already have the Cyclone boys 40mm which is neat but too small to speed cube.

This Valk 47mm is PERFECT. Cubies are the same size as a standard 4×4 and it turns as well as the 55mm Valk. I bought it to add to my collection but now I am back into 3×3 since being predominantly 5×5 for a while.

I got this amazing cube at POPS Open. I opened it out of this awesome black box, which took me awhile to get it out but after that my first impressions of this cube were pretty good. I was a bit iffy whether or not this would be my main straight out of the box, but as soon as I got home I set it with some speedcube.

Rubiks Phantom!! I got this item to try for free from Spin Master in collaboration with Butterly. com It comes out of the box and all the sections are greyish black. Well. you touch it and the colors come to LIFE! It is pretty much a race against time and warmth to solve it.

Definitely raises the difficult level and brings on the challenge 100%. The heat sensitive colors that are revealed by touch causes one to concentrate way more and changes things up from the normal cubes.

Sorry Rubiks, I love your products. I’m a huge fan of twisty puzzles and i own dozens. This is a 3×3 with stickers that are heat sensitive. Scramble it then hold each side between your palms and the heat reveals the stickers.

Repeat for the other 2 pairs of sides. If you know how to solve already, you will likely solve it before they darken back up again, or maybe you may need to warm them again once or twice. Looks good in the collection in its all black state, and I appreciate the idea but it would be more of a challenge if the stickers didnt take so long to change back.

If you don’t know how to solve one, get a normal 3×3. If you’re a collector you might want one just to have it, otherwise there really isn’t much additional challenge to this one. Just being honest. On the plus side, the one I got turns very easily and the optics are nice.

Again it looks slick in the collection so I gave it 3 stars. Perhaps a bit generous.
