20 Best Cheese For Frittata (2022 Updated)

These are absolutely delicious! They are the perfect size little pearls of mozzarella and are creamy and soft. They are fabulous in caprese salad, in additions to pasta dishes, or just popped in your mouth as a cheesy snack.

I can’t get over the creamy goodness of them. I found them easily at several different grocery stores and will continue to buy them. I can’t recommend them enough.

Had a craving for caprese salad, so I ordered this cheese, and some on-the-vine tomatoes, also from Sam’s. The taste, texture, quality, are excellent. Taste like 5 star restaurant quality mozzarella.

Tastes fresh. The fact that the package has 2 separately sealed sections is a plus. I would buy again and would recommend.

Don’t let anyone tell you that there is no discernable difference in taste or texture between whole milk and part skim mozzarella cheese. it took me a few eating experiences to determine that the part skim version I purchased when the store was out of my usual whole milk type, was indeed the reason my pizzas and other dishes tasted “different” and not in a good way.

Health benefits of lower fat foodstuffs not withstanding, this part skim cheese was both unpleasently more salty and did not melt the same as the whole milk version. Yes, I would buy it again in a pinch if no whole milk versions are available, but I will pay closer attention to what I grab now and try to find my preferred whole milk mozzarella.

It’s ok. My fave is Brie and since my store doesn’t carry it, I get camembert. Only once was there a problem. All soft cheeses ripen with time and if it’s too ripe, for me, it’s inedible. But I only got the overly ripe one time.

This is good on French bread with a light smear of butter or on Waverly wafer type crackers. Or just a plain ol’ wedge.

I am extremely impressed with this cheese. Mama Francesca premium parmesan asiago and Romano. This was my first time ever using this brand. I used it in my alfredo sauce. We make alfredo sauce on a regular basis at home and I usually use either Kraft or great value because I feel those two are very interchangeable.

I was pretty surprised when I made my alfredo sauce last night with Mama Francesca, this had actual cheesiness to it. As if I had just grated a wedge. It was very delicious. I will definitely buy again.

No joke, this is amazing. I went to get some Parmesan cheese and saw this Asiago Romano blend and thought I would give it a shot. It’s so good! You can definitely taste the Asiago cheese in this. It makes the cheese have a more defined flavor.

It stays virtually clump free. Easy to shake out and it adds a great flavor to your food. I will definitely buy this brand again.

This is not your fancy expensive Parmesan blend of cheese but it sure does taste like one. I actually bought this from Walmart which I have started only shopping at the past two years; that was due to some of their labor and associate relations policies; which have gotten better.

I believe Stop and shop has this too. This is a great go to product in cooking in so many different meal not just for topping on spaghetti. I use it to make Alfred sauce , chicken cutlets and broccoli Parmesan.

Not over bearing just plain good.

I ordered 32oz. Bag of mozzarella cheese and it was unavailable. I wasn’t given the option of purchasing 2 16oz bags or any other size. Other stores that I shop with always substitutes. I now have to have my granddaughter go purchase from another store because I was preparing a lasagna for my family dinner this afternoon and needed it first thing this morning!.

In my household, this us our “GO TO” Cheese. It has the perfect texture for everything. Pizza, Cheesy eggs, Burritos, sandwiches, and more! We like this delicious cheese because it melts great and keeps a great texture.

The finey shredded type is way too thin and doesn’thave the flavor that this cheese has!.

Is there anything better than Tillamook cheese?? ABSOLUTELY NOT! This thick cut Mexican 4 cheese blend is so good! The texture is great! It melts really well. It’s soft and rich and just really delicious.

It’s a little expensive at around $4 or so a bag. I picked a few bags up on sale at Target for $2. 99.

I cook a lot of Mexican food, but I hate shredding cheese. Since using this blend by Tillamook, I use it on everything. It melts super easy, and it is great on eggs, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and in quesadillas.

I love the big shreds of cheese too. So yummy!.

I’m not usually picky regarding brand names, but after using some really bland shredded cheese (not from Target) I decided to try Tillamook shredded cheese. While a little pricey, it is well worth it.

This cheese has great flavor. I have purchased it twice now for cooking and salads and will be buying more in the future. Great taste and texture, melts nicely!.

I am a Chef and Baker who makes phenomenal comfort food. I finally decided to change my life and not torture my GI tract with dairy anymore as I am SEVERELY allergic. This is an EXCELLENT tasting plant based mozzarella.

It also melts very well. If you are used to dairy, it will probably taste like a “cheap” or “lowfat” mozzarella in comparison to traditional whole cow milk mozzarella. That’s the best, most REALISTIC taste description I can give.

It honestly reminds me of mozzarella on like, Totinos cheap pizzas, but in this case it’s actually good for you!! The point IS, it’s NOT disgusting. People who complain about this cheese are incredibly picky and have unrealistic expectations, so please ignore them.

OF COURSE, cow milk cheese is NOT going to taste the same as plant based because you’re working with separate protein types. So, GO AHEAD and enjoy a pizza, or Italian food, etc with this. Dairy free eating has never been easier!! And if you’re sad about missing out on cheese, you’ll be grateful for this.

IT TASTES LIKE GREAT MELTED CHEESE!!! After decades of being vegetarian I finally decided to go vegan but since I loved cheese and it was such a big part of my diet my experience didn’t go well at first.

I tried Daiya and other kinds from the store and even tried making my own with no success. I was really bummed. But today at the natural food store I asked for advice and a kind lady recommended the cheddar shreds for melting.

(She mentioned she wasn’t able to get the block cheese of this brand to melt. ) Well today I had my first vegan quesadilla and wow was it great! Perfectly melty and tasty. I know I could easily fool non-vegans with this.

The best part is that I can make all my old favorite dishes. I’m from New Mexico and sometimes I just gotta have that sizzling platter of enchiladas, rellenos, stuffed sopaipillas etc topped with green chile and melted cheese.

Until today I honestly doubted if I could manage without dairy. Now I’m all good!!! Thank you SO MUCH for making this vegan cheese!!!.

I’m very impressed with this product! I tend to not care for cheese alternatives so any pizza I make, I just leave it off. I’m glad I decided to try this! So so good. This company is awesome as well (they send out coupons, just send them a quick email!) Honestly I’m so excited with how this pizza turned out, best one I’ve made so far.

And the cheese plays a big part in that!.

I made pesto pasta last night with some peas, spinach and some chicken sausage. I added some mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top. It melted nicely and had a lot of flavor. Tasted much better than I expected.

Really thin shredded cheese, perfect for a lot of dishes….

My toddlers love these cheese and for me that’s a win. Simply sprinkle over spaghetti and that’s it, they are pleased. I tried giving them another brand and they knew the difference. These are a regular in my shopping now.

I love trying new foods. Sometimes, I wake up with a thought of combining tastes – and that’s where the fun begins. A dear friend had told me about Buffalo Milk Burrata, a month ago, and I’d been thinking about it ever since.

While at a nearby restaurant, I saw Burrata listed on their menu, so I took a chance, and asked if I could order Burrata instead of chicken, on pasta, with arugula and basil, with a bit of butter. They provided me that on penne – it was divine.

Four days later, I shopped around, still no Buffalo Burrata at Trader Joe’s – but I found this at Sprouts Market. I added Trader Joe’s organic arugula, and their organic basil, drizzled it with TJ’s wonderful Avocado Oil, then accompanied it with their Brioche Toasts (it read like a delicious sweetness to sweet or savory dishes.

) The crisp crunch, along with sparkling arugula, deep basil, and the mouthfeel and delicate taste of Avo Oil nailed it. The Burrata was brought to room temperature, first, then nestled, drizzled, and gently opened with a spoon.

Creamy, Dreamy, Superb. Add this to your no-cook, keeping-it-cool spectacular self-treat list. Highly recommend. (See all 3 photos. ) It totally made my Independence Day memorable. Enjoy❣.

If you have never tried this please do! Especially if your a cheese lover like me. This is so creamy sweet and delicious! I love to eat it on a bed of mixed greens with balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

The BelGioioso Burrata is such a unique experience! There are two huge mozzarella balls in the container. When I cut into one of them I was shocked to see a soft, creamy center! So fun and unique. These taste amazing with a drizzle of balsamic.

I really like the texture and taste of this sausage, egg, and cheese frittata. I can taste the fluffy egg with bits of egg and cheese. It has the right amount of seasoning and not overly salty. Even though it is made with veggies like cauliflower, potatoes, and onions, you don’t taste them.

This is one great way to sneak in veggies. I like the convenience of popping them in the microwave to have a quick and healthy breakfast or snack. Overall I really like the taste and nutritional value to be included in my daily food intake.

OMG – These are disgusting! Please – don’t waste your money unless you have a dog. No kidding! I usually buy Simple Truth from grocery chain. ST makes an egg omelette bites -4 to a tray for about same calories.

Also healthy eating. These no kidding remind me of if you ever threw up in your mouth, tasted then had to figure out how to spit it out or just swallow. ? It has been a long time where something tasted SO BAD I nearly threw up at first bite!!! Expiration date was fine.

Came straight from store. Followed heating instructions- which by the way, these flatten out a lot in a microwave minute! All packets individually sealed. No problem there. Conclusion- Recipe is beyond gross! Avoid Lot # 087 22 with numbers 16 44 L2 under it.

Especially delicious and healthy with quality ingredients. The muffin shape is so cute, I feel like I’m at a tea party. For the people who tried them but didn’t like them, well everyone has different tastes.

However, I wonder if they would like them better if they warmed them in the oven instead of the microwave? Yes, I know people are in a hurry in the morning and at work, and microwave their food. But I bake these in the oven at 350 -360 degrees for about 20 minutes, until I can hear them sizzle and they are slightly browned at the edges.

I would describe them as hot and the outside is carmelized and crisp and frittata is softer in the middle. Yum! The mushroom flavor is awesome also.

It must not be called “quesadilla” because they are not good at all for quesadillas, they are not good for frying or toasting. They are extremely greasy and when melted they are too liquid. The taste in a quesadilla is horrible.

It might be good for other things but not for quesadillas at all.

This is the real thing for quesadillas! It has a slightly salt taste which is delicious.

I have avoided buying this cheese because even I the bag it doesn’t LOOK good. I broke down and bought a bag recently because they have apparently stopped carrying any name brand of “regular” (as opposed to “gourmet”) mozzarella.

Well I was right. This cheese is worthless. It won’t melt properly because there isn’t enough fat in it for proper melting. It doesn’t brown for much the same reason. Because it doesn’t melt properly, it doesn’t blister.

Because it doesn’t blister, it doesn’t brown. You need enough elasticity for blistering to occur but since it won’t melt properly (because there is not enough fat in it) it can’t blister. The only hope is to brush the top of the cheese with olive oil so there’s enough oil to facilitate melting, blistering, and finally browning.

I don’t know that even that will help at all, but I’m buying some olive oil to give it a try. I’m not hopeful that it has enough elasticity given its obvious lack in all other departments. And I’m not kidding.

It tastes like nothing. I would liken it to chewing rubber, but rubber has some flavor. This cheese packs down in the bag so you end up with a weird lump in the bottom of the bag. This is the worst mozzarella I can remember ever buying.

I will NEVER buy this cheese again. It may be cheap, but so is Velveeta.

This cheese is the BEST! It’s great as a snack, as a handful, alone, to quash your hunger for a little while. Or, put some on a cracker (use a plate underneath, since some of it tends to fall off while taking a bite!) and have it as part of an easy lunch.

It’s a superb addition to a green salad, oil-and-vinegar-dressed pasta salad, or taco salad; it’s also good in soups. We often separate the bag into about 3 portions and put each into a ziplock bag. This is done I n order to keep the exposure to outside mold spore contamination to a minimum.

It stays fresh for a really long time— like a month, even! Of course, it is also marvelous on homemade pizzas— be they on French bread, raw pizza dough or English muffins. The whole family finds the flavor of the cheese to be quite delicious.

This stuff is sooooo good!! I love it on my salad. It adds an extra pop it has a flavor that’s tough to describe aside from amazing. It pairs perfectly with a Greek salad. I also put it in Greek wraps! You can purchase it from Walmart.

It’s pricey but worth it it lasts a good while.

Amazing! More expensive than regular cheese and I’m trying not to eat it all by myself lol!! I always get organic or grass fed milk for my baby and wanted a better option than regular cheap cheese. This actually has a delicious taste.

This is my favorite cheese to snack on. It has a great texture and flavor. I love that you sometimes get little cheese (calcium) crystals. It’s great to eat plain and because it has so much flavor, you can eat small amounts at a time.

If you like Parmigiano-Reggiano, you will probably like this. It’s not as hard as Parmigiano-Reggiano.

I love Sargento cheese. There were times when the price was not in my budget. I then learned to purchase on sale. This cheese is always delicious. When I purchased another brand, my family noticed the difference.

In the future I will stay with Sargento chese, or not make the dish if Sargento cheese is not available in my household!.

Most definitely quality cheese. From homemade pizza to lasagna or right out of the bag, this cheese is quality. Exquisite taste, melts perfect. Remove excess air from bag store in cold part of your refrigerator, does not mold quickly like other brands.

When we want to get the best taste from our cheese and don’t mind paying extra then this is what we go with. The taste is perfect and the whole family loves it. The price is the only reason we don’t get this often.

If it was priced a little lower then it would ALWAYS be in our home. It melts the way I love for every meal. You can tell the difference in this compared to others. I would tell everyone to buy this if it cost a bit less.

I am a resident of Wisconsin, so cheese is taken quite seriously in the Dairyland State. When I am not supporting the local farmers, I am buying Tillamook block cheese. The clear winner for me on prepackaged, branded cheese.

I have enjoyed each rich, high quality block I have tried. My local store does not offer the full selection from this brand, unfortunately.

To preface this, I was a cheese specialist for over two years, so I’ve tried quite a few cheeses in my day, as well as traveled to many cheese production plants and dairy farms!
