20 Best Cheese For Spaghetti (2022 Updated)

This has been my favorite meal since I was a kid. It used to be regularly stocked in Giant Food, but they have slowly gotten rid of all the products I love. Luckily you can still buy this great spaghetti meal online.

Kraft Spaghetti Tangy Italian makes a quick, great tasting meal for 2 – 4 people. We like to serve ours with the sauce seperate from the pasta. And if you would like it a little less tangy, don’t put all of the flavor packet in.

We usually leave out about a teaspoon of the packet. I could eat this stuff everynight!.

This has been a staple in my kitchen since I was a kid and mama made it. I continued the tradition and every person who has tried it just loves 8t! The flavoring is perfect and it’s the perfect size for a dinner for two or even for just yourself, with a nice little portion you can have for lunch the next day.

I refuse to eat any other spaghetti. Sorry, not sorry!! Lol.

We bought these because a friend recommended them as a very shelf stable pantry item. They are fast, inexpensive, tasty and require very few additional ingredients depending on which one is purchased.

Most call for water and butter and sometimes milk and a couple use olive oil. For the milk requirement we just use Nido whole milk powder. We often add tuna, chicken or sauteed ground beef and a veg like broccoli, spinach, kale etc.

all of which we keep on hand in freeze dried or air dried form. also very lightweight and shelf stable ;0).

We love this pasta. It has great cheese flavor and cooks up fast. You can easily spruce it up by adding more cheese or even vegetables. My kids like it when we add peas. If you want a more richer pasta we add whole milk or half & half and then some freshly grated parmesan cheese after it’s cooked.

I love making this! It’s quick and easy and tastes so good! I love the varieties that they have. If they came in bigger sizes that would be great. I typically go to this brand because it’s budget friendly and kid friendly.

I 100% recommend this as well as many of the other brands.

We have always bought the Classico brand from Sam’s but recently switched to this specific Prego. First of all, I love that it comes in plastic recyclable bottles. My son dropped one of the glass Classico once and it was such a mess.

I also really liked the taste of the traditional. I think we tried a different flavor once of Prego and it was so-so. This one has a little hint of sweetness to it, but we feel it complements the acidity of the tomato.

We will definitely be keeping these on hand as it’s so quick and easy to make this into a meal. I also like that it’s a bit larger than the Classico bottle because I always felt with the Classico that there wasn’t quite enough sauce to go with our spaghetti.

Now there is plenty of sauce and I can save some for another meal. All in all I highly recommend this product.

I am not a huge fan of jar pasta sauce. Usually. While this is a little sweet for my taste, I still enjoyed it. The rest of my family loved it and asked for seconds. It tastes very similar to the current traditional Prego, but has a great bit of heat.

Not over powering spice. Not the heat that wipes out all flavor. Just a nice heat, that for me, helps with the sweet flavor. It doesn’t have that artificial “canned” taste that had me avoiding jar sauce for so many years.

It tastes of actual real ingredients. There are chunks of tomatoes. I will definitely keep this in the pantry for a quick go to meal, that still tastes great! If you like a bit of spicy heat, I absolutely recommend this!.

There is a wide variety of different types of spaghetti sauces on the market. Some claim to be more authentic and others do not have claims other than being great sauce. Prego is one of the names that we likely all appreciate and know.

It makes our live so easy to warm up a classic, tasty sauce to add to our dishes I used this primarily over zoodles recently. I warm up the zoodles, warm up some Prego spaghetti sauce, and I have a very quick, easy lunch wothout a boatload of carbs, but a ton of great flavor.

Prego is versatile. Can be used for spaghetti dinners without all of the prep. You can brown up some burger or sausage and add Prego and in no time speghetti is ready, meal on the table. Add some ladles of sauce in between lasagna noodles, cheese, meat, and bake, and you have a bit easier lasagna.

I would take a tablespoon and ladle it on a tortilla and add some meat, a smidge of cheese and heat up for a lower carb “pizza”. There are many uses. Flavor choices abound. This isn’t a garlic heavy sauce, but has a very good, rich flavor that easily makes a meal taste great without as much time and effort.

Terrific product, easy to use, nice glass jar, easy to recap and use time and time again without worry about a metal can and tomato product reacting when trying to store in the refrigerator.

I tried the grated Parmesan cheese but it was too powdery, it clumped, and had a little sour aftertaste. I don’t know if it was my taste buds or what but I ended up throwing the jar of grated cheese away after one use.

My husband wasn’t a fan of it and he usually doesn’t complain. The price of the cheese is really reasonable and it smelled good but I just couldn’t get over the bitter aftertaste. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a sharp or bitter cheese.

I have bought this many times and have been reasonably satisfied with it. However, this particular brand has come under question over the percentage of added cellulose powder. The industry acceptable amount of added non-cheese cellulose to prevent clumping is thought to be between 2 and 4 %.

Product testing on Walmart Great Value brand was shown to contain between 7 and 8 % added non-cheese powdered cellulose. I would like to trust Walmart to look into this matter and assure that a minimum amount of non-cheese powdered cellulose is added to this product, only for necessary anti-clumping and not a higher than necessary amount as mere filler.

This product is labeled and sold as “100% grated Parmesan cheese” and it seems only fair to not expect a higher than necessary amount of any non-cheese ingredient added. By comparison, the Kraft brand of this same item was shown in testing to contain far less of the added non-cheese cellulose and was in the recommended range of 2 and 4 %.

I would expect at least a similar quality with the Walmart Great Value brand.

I cooked the product according to directions and even let it sit in the microwave for a while as I was making other sides for dinner. It still came out very runny. The sauce did not stick to the pasta.

The pasta itself was fine. The cheese sauce tasted like. nothing. If you had poured water over a bowl of macaroni, I wouldn’t have been able to distinguish it from this dish. There were a handful of what appeared to be large bacon bits in the sauce that sort of marginally tasted like bacon, but they really didn’t add anything to the overall flavor of the product.

Normally I enjoy Knorr side dishes, but this one is a big fail.

Made this last night and it was delicious then and today at lunch as leftovers. While the pasta was cooking I sautéed some chicken and mushrooms chunks along with some broccoli florets. Seasoned them with a little garlic salt and pepper.

When the pasts was done (& rested) I dished it up, put the chicken etc. on top with a sprinkle of grated parmesan. It was tasty, easy, and quick. One word of caution, watch that milk and water mixture, it can boil over the second you turn away.

I reached over to rinse my hands and it went from simmering to all over the stove in a blink of an eye! :).

Alfredo! Find this one of the best Alfredo pastas, with only one drawback. It has too much salt in it. If you would please, greatly reduce the amount of salt. We can always add, but we can’t take it out of your package.

I don’t think it would harm the taste, but it would be some much better tasting for me, as well as being much healthier. I find I can reduce the saltiness by adding some extra liquid and thin pasta that cooks at about the same rate.

I also add fresh spinach near the end, to just wilt in the sauce before it is too thick. Thank you!!.

This product did not dissolve properly in my alfredo sauce. I always make alfredo with natural parmesan romano cheese and did not have a problem with another brand. This brand, however, was gritty and did not dissolve at all, ruining my meal.

It did not taste as grate as other parmesan romano either. I have to question if it’s really natural.

This grated parmesan cheese has a great robust cheesy flavor. It’s perfect on pizza. The little portion control packets save money and reduce waste. This is a terrific product.

Alfredo is already super yummy as is. When I seen they had this roasted garlic I definitely fell in love with the classico brand. Its thick, creamy, and flavorful. I prefer to pair this sauce with shrimp, scallops, broccoli and mushrooms over shells or macaroni.

Charing the veggies add so much more depth of flavor into the sauce its unbelievable. I also use it as dipping sauce. If you roast some russet wedges or even red potatoes the Alfredo as a dip is delicious.

Pour it over them fresh out the oven and you’ll have some creamy melty goodness on your hands. They are always priced well or apart of a deal; either but one get on or 2 for $4. Ill take either or honestly, because you can never have too much jarred sauce.

I really prefer homemade sauces and usually it doesn’t take much time to make a simple sauce from scratch if I use canned tomatoes to start with. It’s not always an option though. My husband lived in Italy for a few years and can be very picky about tomato sauces as well so finding good convenient ones is a little trickier.

The first thing I look for in a jarred sauce is that it’s not too sweet. A lot of jarred sauces suffer from too much sugar so you can’t taste all the flavors of the sauce itself, much less what you put it on.

So I look for ingredients similar to what I’d use. This sauce is made from tomato puree, diced tomatoes, onions, salt, basil, garlic, olive oil and other seasonings in trace amounts. Pretty close to what I put into mine except I’m also nuts for oregano.

There are nice sized chunks of tomatoes in the sauce and it’s liquid enough. The flavor is good, the garlic and onions aren’t overpowering and it doesn’t have that off taste that some sauces can have.

It does taste pretty fresh. It’s great for quick meals. Poured over chicken breasts and topped with cheese, or baking fresh ravioli in it are two of the meals my family makes when I can’t cook. We always keep a couple jars on hand for that reason.

It also makes a decent pizza sauce when my daughter wants quick pizzas.

I love the Classico line of pasta sauces. I use it in anything needing tomato sauce or canned tomatoes like spaghetti, soups, meat loaf, pizza, etc. I usually purchase several jars at a time, online, because some stores don’t always have the flavors I want.

The added bonus is that I reuse the 24 oz jar to can foods in. I had never had a problem with my orders until this last one. I was shocked when I slid the box across the deck where the Fed-ex delivery man left it.

I could hear glass clinking together. I cautiously opened the box thinking there were broken jars. I removed a wad of brown paper from the top of the box expecting to find the jars wrapped in the mesh cardboard that is usually the norm.

Instead there were 8 jars, a couple on their sides, but the rest right side up and not a scrap of paper even separating the jars. The jars weren’t even stabilized to keep them from moving around in the extra space in the box.

I was shocked that they all weren’t broken. Some did have dented places in the lids. I used the worst looking one today, but the jar wasn’t chipped. I won’t know on the others until I use them. It’s a million wonders they all weren’t ruined.

I was lucky mine were all intact. Fed-ex deserves a medal for getting the box here safely. The packer deserves a reprimand for being so neglectful.

My family and I love ragu products. Specifically their six cheese and Parmesan and Romano sauce. It is delicious. However we recently had somewhat of a scare when looking inside of a jar we purchased and was preparing to cook with.

A small speck of glass was on top of the sauce. I quickly inspected the jar and to my surprise the jar was in tact. I contacted Ragu via email but hadn’t heard anything back since it occurred over the weekend.

I then contacted them via phone Ragu Parmesan Romano Sauce once open again. I was greeted by someone not very willing to help take down my concern until I stated I don’t want anyone to get hurt yet alone die from consuming in case this item needed to be recalled.

She then was willing to record my experience and pass it along. I will update once I hear back from Ragu. I still like the brand but that experience had me on edge because my child consumes this regularly and usually I’m not stopping to take a look in the jar.

This is one of my favorites. You do not need parm cheese with the added cheese flavors in the sauce. Has a creamy sauce flavor. I use this for baked ziti. Good price. Not expensive. It’s easy to work with and I was definitely satisfied with this.

I would definitely recommend to others.

One thing I love about Ragu sauce is the variety of flavors. To me that means a variety in pasta creations I can make. Don’t chicken Alfredo him to death sis, try something different make your own recipe based on the ingredients on the bottle of the sauce or look a recipe up and make something different.

I love using this sauce to make my pasta extra cheesy. If I have wine, I like to add a little to the sauce along with the cheese. Thank me later sis!.

This is my new “go-to” dry curd or Farmers Cheese! I will forever mix this with my small curd cottage cheese for the extra tang. Can be used in sweet and savory cheese taste treat sensations! Just add a little sugar mixed with small curd cottage cheese and bake with pastry dough for desserts or mix with small curd cottage cheese for perogies.

I will always use this feta cheese fried with my French Toast, maple syrup, Mandarin oranges and powder sugar.
