20 Best Cheese Making Kit (2022 Updated)

There is no video or instruction showing how to make hard kefir cheese using the spring, whether it’s done with the whey still in the jar or not, whether in the fridge or at room temp. The kefir cheese doesn’t just plop out of the mesh basket, so there is risk in damaging the mesh when removing the cheese.

The mesh basket is also very difficult to clean without damaging it, when kefir cheese has stuck to it. The recipe book doesn’t specify what size jar is appropriate for the quantities for each recipe.

If I’m adding 2L of liquid for example in the fresh cheese recipe, I don’t imagine it would fit into either size jar. I paid for express delivery and it arrived in the standard delivery time. Disappointed.

It is pricey but a good way to make Kefir Cheese within a few hours. There is a spring pressing down onto the cheese, which makes the process much faster than a cheese cloth. It receives 3 stars only because it is too expensive for what it is.

A Bowl and cheese cloth do a very good job too. I guess the product is designed to satisfy the needs of one or two people. It is too small to create a larger amount of Kefir cheese, and a cheese cloth and bowl would do a better job.

I also purchased the Kefir maker, but it only works well for Water Kefir and is too small. nInrather use 5 jars you get for a few dollars at K-Mart.

I have been looking at the Kefirko Cheese Maker for ages but kept using my made up one from pieces in my cupboard The thing that sold me was the spring token pressure on to extract the whey. Just finished my first cheese using it Coconut Apricot, Ginger and Macadamia with Sweet and Salty Seasoning.

So yum and so easy to use. The recipe boom looks amazing, as I only made coconut milk kefir can I adapt the recipes using dairy?.

You can only make this cheese after raising the milk temperature above 90degC. Milk boils at around 82degC! If you warm the milk in the microwave you end up with a big mess and your milk probably didnt reach the desired temperature I.

e. no coagulation. Thats what happened to me!.

Love it! I’m just disappointed it is so expensive here in Australia. If I hadn’t had a very specific need for my dairy and cheese culturing, I would have gone with a less expensive idea. That being said, it is an fantastic product.

With lactose intolerance this is a must. Very easy to use easily holds cheese made from half a gallon raw milk. Have to curdle it in two batches, but the basket can hold it all to drain. Very useful tool.

Amazing product, purchased as a gift. All reviews on the internet are very good.

It is a very good product and accomplishes all the requirements! The only consideration is that the cheese is creamy and not very solid

This is the second cheese maker I have purchased. This is a gift for my SIL. The fist was for my husband and he loves it.

Online in the “what’s included”, it says the package includes 4 starter cultures and 2 tablets of Rennet. My package did not include any Rennet tablets. However, the instructions for making the cream cheese do not mention the Rennet tablets.

Well it was really quite a challenge, all I was looking for was a thermometer for food, and I happened to come across this kit, which includes a thermometer, so I told myself why not? I made mozzarella according to the recipe I found on YouTube (who would like to attach to the comments) even though there are preparation instructions it was easier for me to see with my own eyes and make.

The mozzarella has run out faster than I thought, having to prepare again, luckily the amount is plenty of cheeses, so if you like mozzarella or ricotta cheese and also kitchen lovers, I highly recommend you.

Kit contains thermometer, diaper cloth, and all ingredients. Gluten-free probiotics.

Well I am a big fan of mozzarella string cheese and after making fresh mozzarella I am leaving string cheese behind. It’s so easy to make with good instructions and supplies from the NE Cheesemaking Supplies.

There is nothing like taking fresh, hot and stretchy mozz in your hands and forming it into a round ball with a sprinkling of salt…. wow. For those who don’t give this a try you will not taste the difference between store bought cheese and the fresh mozz you made with your two hands and the awesome cheese kit.

Frankly it’s hard to believe the only things you need is the mozzarella kit and some good milk and SHAZAM you got cheese. So if you want to have fun with family and friends give this it a try and I guarantee you will make a memory that will live on with those that help make this mozzarella cheese.

Well, it was different. This was my first time ever making any kind of cheese, and I started out with the wrong kind of milk!!! So, after another trip to the store , exchanging wrong milk for right milk, I got started making the mozzarella.

The rennet tablet did not dissolve as I thought it would. But I used it. My curds did not set up as they were supposed to, but after working the cheese curds in the hot water, everything came together.

My cheese is fabulous. I will definitely tell my friends to try this. I will make more.

I have hand milked cows, Jersey- Sahiwal X, so both butter fat! I wanted to value add my milk. I use 4L raw milk to make Feta, and so far it is flying out the door as fast as I can make it. I am using the Artisan Kit, as had everything I need.

I’m thrilled with it. No one r cheese ever the same, but all delicious. Now my first Pressed Cheddar on the go, ‘drying’. Nothing went as planned. the milk did not set in to curds, as added another rennet, then visitors.

so diced curds sat in milk fridge for extra 24hrs,, so on heating nice and acidic. Then one pressing, the cheese came out completely lopsided. so recrumbled added a bit of whey, mixed with hands and started again, Now a perfect ’round’.

! So Ill just have a iniquities flavoured cheddar, hope can be patient! I also make my own butter in my Nutribullet, cream cheeses, Ricotta from the whey, and Whey smoothies/ Lassi. Dogs get Sergey in their rice meal now too.

We were impressed with the possibilities of this kit and bought the same one for our adult children and grandchildren who live out of state. We have been thinking of creative ways to stay together during the pandemic, and we Zoomed our first cheese (Ricotta) with great success.

Excellent product, great instructions and cheese cloth and thermometer was included for convenience. I am getting another gallon this weekend when I go out to ride my horse.

Using this kit was a perfect introduction to goats milk and cheese making. The only confusion I experienced was exactly how to add the salt at the end, but I improvised with a potato masher and it all worked out fine.

Will enjoy making chèvre again, as I feel quite emboldened by this success on my first try.

my first time making cottage cheese and cream cheese. instructions were ok, got a little confused, but, I was able to work my way through and ended up with an edible product! It would be nice to have a list of items that one needs to have when you first start into cheese making so you have everything on hand (butter cloth, hard cheese molds, more explanation of which cultures are needed to make which types of cheeses, press, etc.

).

I chose Gouda for my first cheese. The instructions were easy to follow and everything worked out well. I have t got to taste it yet because it’s still aging. One thing I think would be a great addition to the kit is a follower for the mold.

I ended up using a large measuring cup as a stand and pressing it upside down. But doing this left an unpleasant indent in the cheese. I’ve since bought a follower and a press and I will try again.

I started making cheeses almost the day after I got my kit. Mozzarella was my first try and I over stired it so it broke down and didn’t work. Since, I’ve made cottage cheese, feta, and farmhouse cheddar.

Feta is ready tomorrow and the cheddar has about another month to go. Can’t wait to see how things taste. The kit comes complete with everything you need but cheesecloth.

I bought this kit as a birthday gift for my brother’s birthday. He wasn’t a cheese person until I made cheese over 30 years ago. He asked me about cheese. My kit is so old that it is no longer sold. My search started as finding supplies for me and then changed into a birthday gift for him.

I visited a local farm with a lawn sign advertising “raw milk”. When she asked me to meet her girls, I was stunned to meet goats instead of cows, so I rolled with it and the exuberant farmer introduced me to each of her goats.

It was obvious they are content, humanely cared for and healthy. The farmer told me all the things I could do with goat milk, including ordering supplies from NE Cheese Supply to start my own culture.

I was intrigued. Two weeks later, I ordered my first kit and bought one gallon of fresh goat milk to try my hand at Chevre cheese. It was so easy, I feel like the cheese made itself. All the ingredients and special material was in the kit.

I had no worries!! It was easy, fun, and I have over 2 pounds of sweet creamy delicious cheese in my freezer to enjoy with my hubby at any time I choose. PLUS, I still have enough culture to make four more batches PLUS the rennet and start-up culture needed to make french style goat cheese (ANOTHER adventure!) all for less than $26.

It’s a great kit. The items inside are the highest quality. I’ll be able to use them again and again without them breaking easily. I liked that it came with a slotted spoon, so I didn’t have to buy one.

I was hoping it would do parmesan cheese and a few extra hard cheeses. It would have been nice if it came with some mould and more rennet. I am excited to make the quark as I can no longer get it in stores.

I’ve used it twice so far to make bocconcini and ricotta.

Really good fun being able to make cheese at home with the Artisan kit. Instructions are easy to follow and we’ll written. Made my second batch if feta on Sunday, turned out much better than my first attempt (I messed that one up by not leaving in molds long enough and not making the brine as per instructions! Still ate it though, ended up being a feta style cream cheese which was still yum!) Made a batch if Haloumi last week and that turned out perfect.

All melty inside and crispy on the outside once fried and drizzled with lemon juice. Going to try a hard cheese next, probably cheddar. But also want to try Brie, Camembert and a blue cheese, just have to find somewhere that I can get the right cultures from.

All in all, very good. So much cheaper than buying from supermarket, if you have a bit of time to practice. (Also I made some yoghurt using the putple Mad Millie water bath to keep the heat constant, came out silky smooth and delicious!).

After taking the cheese making workshop, I was excited to make cheese at home straight away. I bought any extra bits I needed – slotted spoon, cultures, extra baskets – from Kitchen Warehouse. Everything is included in the kit to make ricotta, mozzarella or marscapone & it’s so easy and simple.

My ricotta turned out creamier than any deli bought cheese. Looking forward to making feta and haloumi next.

Somehow I missed the “for soft cheeses and lightly pressing hard cheeses” when I ordered it, but it works great for the pressing I’ve done. What constitutes “light” pressing? 50lbs? No problem. I’ve made a half dozen batches of cheddar with it, and it works great.

This basket holds up well and gives shape to the cheese. So far I have used it for Chevre. I bought three more!

This cheese mold was exactly what i needed to start making cheese. Did my first batch of cheese which is some brie. Now i have to wait a couple of weeks for testing the cheese recipe but the instruments, like the cheese mold, cheese cloth and the yeast where all good.

Bought for a friend who loves my feta. A great starter kit for anyone interested in making their own cheeses – the instructions are much improved from when I bought mine many years ago, very clear & easy to follow.

The Press is a nice weighty solid object. The plastic is quite thick so it hold its shape well. The Form and the follower fit perfectly with only a the smallest, tiniest, little petite gap, its. wait for it.

There are not enough holes for the whey to drain properly which led to my cheese sitting in liquid during pressing. Also, the follower is so tight my cheese cloth didn’t fit. Will have to drill more holes and sand down the follower for it to be usable.

Meanwhile my 5 gallon Emmentaler is ruined.

We didn’t discover we needed a baking mat or a food processor until we opened this kit and visited the website. Since we have a small-ish kitchen, we had neither (we used a handy blender stick for things like food processing pesto).

We actually ordered a four cup food processor just for this recipe for nearly 100 dollars only to discover you need a much larger one. I also don’t love that the recipe is exclusively online, forcing you to use a screen while baking, so it would be nice if instructions were printed as well.

Packaging is appealing and directions are easy to understand.

So, the process was not entirely-stress free. We could only find ultra-pasteurized heavy cream! Were we rolling the bagels right? But you can’t argue with results. Sitting down to eat a meal of bagels with a schmear that you made from scratch is amazing.

Next time, it’ll be easier.

This was a great Valentine’s Day gift for my partner! We always go get bagels on the weekend, so we had a blast making our own. We even decided to make the whole batch at once and had our neighbors over to help while drinking mimosas.
