20 Best Cheese Slicer Wirecutter (2022 Updated)

Look no further! This is the best cheese slicer I have had so far. Perfect thin slices. I keep mine inside the fridge right beside the block of cheese and no discoloration or rusting so far. Still works like it is new and I had it for almost 4 months now.

I recommend handwashing since it washes easily.

I love the metal build of this cheese slicer. I’ve had other ones with plastic components, which would break and snap. This one is solid and has a good feel when slicing. The slices can be thick or thin, depending on the angle of the slice.

Even if it does wear down a break, I think I would get another.

This has been the best cheese slicer I’ve ever owned. It slices through hard cheese easily and cleanly. My only complaint is that the handle where it attaches to the plane started to rust after 2 weeks.

I received this as a gift from my mom and then my daughter insisted I try to find her one because that’s what she wanted most for Christmas. I was so relieved to find at Crate & Barrel and my daughter was thrilled with the gift.

She uses it almost daily and says it is her favourite gift and it makes slicing cheese such a breeze!.

I’ve had a lot of cheese slicers in my lifetime and this is by far the best one. Who knew that having a good cheese slicer in your life could be a game changer? Not me- but happy I purchased.

It is a cheap cheese slicer, as far as price. The wire isn’t very taught. You do get what you pay for. It will work, but I recommend paying more for a better quality slicer, same style.

Nice and simple device enables cutting easily and uniformly. Much better than a more expensive Farberware slicer I bought.

This cheese cutter is awesome. It is plastic so yea not super fancy BUT it works amazing and feels like it will last.

This is an excellent quality cheese slicer – it’s exactly what I was looking for. Sturdy, well made, simple design. Mine came with an extra wire, but even it it had not, this would still be an excellent value.

Works about as expected, doesn’t roll as smoothly as my other (cheaper plastic) cheese slicer. Came with a spare wire, which I guess is sort of nice, but it’s hard to see and there’s no clear way to store the spare onboard, so odds are in favor of it vanishing before it’s needed.

When I went looking on line to buy a traditional cheese slicer all I kept finding is plastic with bad breaking reviews. So I was very hopeful when I ordered this and I am happy to say it’s exactly what I wanted.

Light weight but metal, Came with replacement cutting wire. Very stylish, so I feel that it’s not only functional but I can leave it on the cutting board with company here. I would definitely say this is a steal at the price and the quality !.

Very heavy duty, much better than the cheese slicers I have bought in grocery stores that break when slicing hard cheeses. This also comes with an extra slicing wire.

I bought this a few weeks ago and have used it a couple of times already. It’s easy to hold and slices with little pressure. Cleans easily and the size great.

This wire slicer does a great job cutting cheese from blocks at various thicknesses. However, the cutting wire assembly that is doing that great job can pop out and need to be replaced. However, there’s a trick to making it last much longer.

At first glance it looks like it doesn’t matter which way you hold this slicer. However, if you hold it the “right” way the cutting wire will last longer. That right way is to cut with the screws which hold the cutting wire in place facing up.

That way you’re not pulling the wire from its brass ends with each slice. That said, the slicer comes with a replacement wire.

Just what I was looking for! It’s very sturdy! And comes with an extra wire which is useful! I’ve gone through many cheese slicers over the years, and this one feel strong and over all well made! We will see when I have to change the wire, with other ones I’ve owned I couldn’t change the wire and had to buy new ones every time it got loose.

I’m very happy I purchased this. I would encourage you to buy this if you don’t want to buy a cheese slicer board this is compact, sturdy, storable.

This slicer is so much better than my old one. The one it replaced lasted 10 years and finally fell apart. It was the type with 1 adjustment in the center above the handle and the roller was plastic.

The plastic roller broke off. The new one is all stainless including the roller. Its heavier and has 2 adjusters on the outer ends. It feels better built and works better. The slices of cheese stay a consistent thickness now.

It appears this one will last as long if not longer because of the build quality.

The Fox Run 5047 Adjustable Cheese Slicer was a replacement for another slicer we had used for some time. The Fox Run model was better quality with a sturdier feel and better materials then our old one.

The ole one was not adjustable, so that feature was a key feature in selecting the Fox Run slicer. We actually bought 2 and gave one to our daughter-in-law. She too, noted the quality. We have only used it a few times so far and are anxious to see how long the cutting wire hold up.

But, we are very satisfied with the purchase of this item.

We tried the local stores 9Walmart, Target, Lowes, and so forth) to find an adjustable cheese slicer. The only things showing were those non-adjustable, “Professional Slicer” models, which in our opinion, are useless.

Give me an adjustable any time. It’s convenient, each slice is uniform, and it’s easy to handle and clean.

It looks nice, but to adjust the width of the cheese slice, you have to remove the screw completely, and manually move the adjustable part, the part with the roller (the roller is very stiff and difficult to roll also).

The part doesn’t slide; it physically comes off and I had to push it back on and then replace the screw. I am going to put it in one position and leave it there rather than go through all this every time I want to adjust it.

Also, there is always the danger of dropping the screw during this adjustment process.

I didn’t even know that cheese slicers with adjustable sizes existed. I didn’t even really realize that this one was like that until after I got it. Honestly I don’t know how I lived my entire life without having an adjustable cheese slicer but I do know that I will not live the rest of my life without one now.

Lol it’s really sturdy it’s easy and comfortable to hold and really just a nifty little tool.

One can certainly adjust and cut thin slices of cheese with this wire slicer. However, for softer cheeses like jack, the cheese slice tends to cling and wrap itself around the roller. The cheese leaves a residue on the roller and it is hard to clean well.

Probably one should use it only for hard cheeses.

I really like this cheese slicer. I have been using it for years. When the wire broke after several years of use on the first one I had, I didn’t know the wire could be replaced so I bought a whole new one.

Now I know, so the next time it breaks, I will only buy the wire replacements. It is a very sturdy cheese slicer and I use it often.

Arrived in an unlabeled box, with no instructions or any identification at all. After fiddling with it I was able to attach the wire, found the 2nd wire taped to the bottom and also found out how to detach the wire from the lever.

However it doesn’t align with the slot. Might fiddle with it more to see if I just attached the wire wrong. 3 stars for lacking instructions.

The wire came loose on the second cut. It only came with one of the two replacement wires, but I put that one in. It made it to the second block of cheese before the end did the same thing. The wire is strong enough that it is hard to reshape, but not strong enough to not get flattened out and come out of the holder.

I will be returning.

I bought the cheese slicer and the slicer mad love them both. Sometimes old timetable things are the best. I use them every day. The cheese slicer is also good for slicing spam and other lunch meats.

This cheese slicer looks good until you use it, The knots on the ends of the wire are not strong enough. Probably good enough for Philly Cream. [warmed up] Needs a little stronger wire. Sorry for the poor review, but it is what it is.

I love WMF brand, they have the best kitchen tools, very good quality and have the right weight to it.

Item is of good quality and works well for “hard” cheese like Jarlsberg. My only issue is that the handle seems too short for my hands. Although if it were any longer, it mike be too much leverage and cause the slicing wire to break more often.

It works as described and I can live with it for the next few hundred pounds of cheese.

This slicer is great – with its adjustments and extra wire. If I had to suggest improvement, I would say that a larger handle and thicker chrome plating would be nice. (The chrome flakes off after a year or two allowing the underlying “pot metal” to corrode and eventually break.

).

It is a good size, a little bit bigger than I thought it would be and that’s great. High polish and very sturdy, best cheese slicer I’ve ever owned. Great price, well built and the extra wire make this a nice value for your money.

These sweatpants are absolutely worth it. I ordered a mens XL for length and oversized fit and they are tight in the waist but not in a bad way just that you can tell they are made very well. So soft and cozy and they so far have not stretched out at all.

Will be buying more pairs for sure. For size reference I am a 14 and 5’11, so the XL was tighter in the waist but very comfy in the legs.

Always a great experience although my kid’s wish that they would have sent them the stickers this time. Some tithes send and sometimes they don’t. The last 3 times they did not:( So I have 3 unhappy kids All of the Products are amazing super soft wash amazing and so stylish.

We regularly eat Dutch smoked goat cheese. It comes in a roll, like thick sausage. After looking in stores and online, and buying 2 other slicers, I found this one. It is perfect! It has a wire strong enough to slice the cheese and allows you to adjust the thickness of the slice.

The one glitch is making sure you clean in the groove, otherwise cleaning is easy.

Love this marble cheese cutting board. Heavy and the slicer doesnt waste any time slicing through cheese or summer sausage. Highly recommend it.

Nice cheese slicer. The wires you need are underneath the marble block. When you open it, it appears that the wire is broken, the wires you need are located under the board.

This slicer is a great value. It slices and is easy to clean. It even came with replacement wires.

this is a horrible cheese cutter. the fir slices is way to big or too thick. After just 2 months the roller fell off. Very cheap looking. bad materials don’t buy this u will be disappointed the price wasn’t cheap.

The thickness of slices are perfect for anything you want to make. Sandwich or egg dishes it’s great.

This is a simple good product because it has a single wire and I can cut my cheese thin or thick. I had one like it for 15 years and I finally broke the wire.
