20 Best Chest Workout Machines (2022 Updated)

I bought this about 2 years ago during a Black Friday sale and it has been one of my most favorite purchases! Great piece of equipment for keeping the dad bod under control and adding muscle mass. Perhaps not sturdy enough for a large upper-tier athlete, but good durability.

Assembly was not difficult, but it was tedious and the directions could have been clearer in some spots. Took about 3 nights to do, working 1-2 hours each night. Having a lat bar is what really set this item apart from the rest, especially for the price.

The pulley track for it is not perfect, but it’s a great added dimension for a home workout. It also came with accessories to do other pulley exercises. The pull-up bar is an added bonus, though the grips could have been wider, and the rack can move during high effort pull-ups.

Coming with a nice bench is another huge bonus, especially since it inclines, declines, and has a quad extension/hamstring curl device. Fits in one-half of my garage despite a shelf behind it, and I can park the SUV on the other side once I turn the bench sideways across the front foot of the rack.

I was a bit worried with all the comments about how difficult this was to put together, but Ive really been wanting a good smith machine. Simply put, if you ever enjoyed legos as a kid, then you wont have any issues assembling this.

Its literally just a giant lego set and the instructions are lego style. Just make sure to do your due diligence. Wait to tighten frame hardware until its all assembled. Dont over tighten pulley mounting hardware.

Basic assembly principles. Im really impressed with how smooth the smith bar is. A lot of machines like this have their weakness in their butterfly portion not being smooth. Ive had no issue with any cable portion being smooth.

Another big plus is that the cable ends and attachments fit my military style d-rings making swapping attachments quick. The only thing I wish it had was a pull-up bar mounted on the front-top-middle.

Would be very doable. Overall a great machine if you assemble it properly!.

Once together, it’s fairly solid for a home gym. Don’t expect the ‘firmness’ and smooth operation of pulleys you’d get on a dedicated exercise machine at the gym (for many thousands more). However, it does the job and it does it safely when working out alone.

The instructions were not great. Just pics with no order of operation, so it was easy to not do something in order and have to make a quick change. Bolts didn’t match up well to pics and numbers in some cases, but it all ended up together in the end.

There are no extra bolts/nuts/washers, so be careful not to drop even one. Get someone to assist the first few pages of instructions and then the rest takes about 4 hours to assemble. I recommend it.

About as close to commercial gym quality as you can get for a home workout gym. It’s a great machine with a whole range of different workout routines. The hangup on this product is assembling the Smith Machine.

The manufacturer did a very poor job labeling the parts and you’ll find there are sooo many parts and is overwhelming and frustrating when you’re assembling this machine. My suggestion is to take all the parts out of each of the huge boxes and unpack them all.

plan on two hours for this and then another 12 hours assembling this machine. Take your time and don’t rush putting this machine together and follow the picture details to the T. It’s all worth it though once you’re done.

I’d give this product 5 stars but the assembly and lack of the parts being labeled I give this product 4 stars.

Delivered in time as promised. Product was well packaged and when actually seeing how many individual parts there are to assemble, it can seem a daunting task. Fear not, instructions are very clear, parts are packaged separately for each step and labelled step 1, step 2, etc.

You will need to allocate around 6 hours, and don’t rush ahead, step by step. One piece of advice, there are some clearer assembly diagrams at the back of the book for the more detailed parts. This is a seriously well built and well designed piece of kit and the assembly instructions for something built from so many parts are a credit to Body-Solid.

Can’t recommend Fitness Superstore and this gym highly enough, you won’t be disappointed. Lastly, a special shout out for Karl who we dealt with.

I currently own one of these. The correct Model name is the Body Solid exm 1550 LPS. This model has been discontinued now, but there are some wonderful bargains on these in used condition, out there, now.

Previously I owned a Body Solid exm 3000 LPS. This one ( the 1550 ) is a little more limited in its stations compared to the 3000, but it has some great features like that Biangular arm Chest Press Shoulder station, that is wonderful very natural in its movement, giving you 25% more work on your arms and shoulders for the same movement as on the conventional arm press stations.

To me the seated Leg Extension feels easier on the legs than the same station on the exm 3000, which is slightly different in its engineering and construction. The Leg Press station is a very smooth station, and did you know that by using the lower part of the pedals with your toes and the balls of your feet you are doing a Toe Raise? The machine is very easy to use, very smooth and quiet in its operation, I suggest oiling it about once a month.

It is simple and effective, easy to get in and out of, doesn’t take up a lot of room, looks attractive and has about 20 exercise movements you can do on it. I am very happy with mine! Sorry that I can’t add photos at this time.

I purchased the G1S on Sam’s Club’s website after looking at several other home gyms on other sites. The G1S is made by Body Solid, so I went onto their website and was very impressed by the quality of the equipment they had to offer, they make commercial work out equipment, as well as home gyms and accessories.

The gym arrived in several boxes on a pallet via ups freight about 10 days after ordering. (the driver had a pallet jack and was able to wheel it right into my garage) Everything was packed very well and the quality of the parts was impressive, mostly high quality steel, the only plastic I can think of are the caps that snap into the holes at the ends of the steel square tubes that make up the frame.

The seat, backrest and tubular cushions for your legs are very good quality. The instructions were very clear and everything fit together nice and tight. It took about 8 hours to assemble but was very much worth the effort, it was actually kind of fun.

The fasteners are separated in small bags and labeled for each step. Allen wrenches are provided, however, I would recommend having a rubber mallet for the end caps, a socket set for the nuts and bolts and a tape measure for the cables, as there are 4 cables of different lengths and you will need to install them in the correct order.

Just take your time and use a little common sense and it will all come together just fine. When I completed the assembly there were no parts left over. HINT: You will need to fine adjust the cable tension in 1 of 3 ways as described in the instructions.

There is a double pulley with 4 bolt holes on each end, I installed the bolts in the 2nd hole from the end on both ends of the pulley and the tension was perfect. (you will understand what I mean when you get there) The machine is awesome and I can tell it will last a lifetime.

I LOVE IT !!! One more thing, one of the tubular leg cushions was slightly deformed (nothing big) and I was a little tired and installed the weight #’s that label the steel weight plates backwards (160lbs to 10lbs instead of the other way around) Duh!!! I called Body Solid customer service and they sent new ones with no questions asked.

Went all in and got the complete setup. I honestly have not gotten around to using the wall track. I use the bench daily for low row, bench (obviously), flys, skull crushers, seated curls. the list goes on with how much can be done with this thing.

The cable machine itself will be going with me on every trip, it is so portable. I don’t really use the smart connect feature yet, but will be doing so soon. The free classes through the app are a great way to get acquainted with the products and learn how they are intended to be used (for example the cable locks to extend the cable to the desired starting position for bench press).

I could go on and on. Since the bench folds away for storage the footprint is next to nothing and replaces an entire gym worth of equipment, which was extremely important to me. The only strange thing about the cable machine is there is no resistance on the second half of the exercise.

I thought that was going to be a deal breaker for me initially, but I actually don’t mind it. The muscle exhaustion and pumps I get from this machine are next to none. I have been in the gym my whole life and have used a wide spectrum of equipment free weights, smith machines, bowflex, bodylastics, etc.

Out of the home gym equipment the maxpro is my favorite so far no questions about it. For fitness on the go. forget about it the maxpro can’t be beat. I love not having to feel like Jake the Snake carrying around my bag full of bands having to fish for the right resistance and combine multiple bands on the handles at one time to get the right resistance.

Like I said, if you’re on the fence just buy it already.

I’ve had the MaxPro for about a week and a half. So far the equipment has met my expectations on quality and function. I spent hours reading about it, watching videos (both on this site and reviews online) and weighed the options for a home gym option.

The space-saving design, portability, range of resistance provided and overall versatility are what sold me on this machine. I love it. Conveniently I setup this machine either on the floor in my house for a quick workout after a busy day.

Otherwise, if I have the time I use the Slimline wall track and bench in my garage for a longer workout hitting a wider range of muscles. It’s easy to get a pump and I don’t miss the eccentric workout all the much.

There is a compromise in any choice being made when working out. Either you pay for a gym membership that carries with it the hassle of getting to and from a gym that is shared with possibly hundreds or thousands of people.

How clean is that facility? Are all equipment options functioning? On and on. Another option is to pay for a collection of items that you have to find a place to store and organize either in your home, throughout your space, or hope a different all-in-one machine can provide you with a decent workout.

Well, my MaxPro is a beast in providing more than enough resistance in a small package and I don’t have to share it with an unknown group of people at a monthly cost. I also don’t lose a room, or two, to make a home gym.

I haven’t been to a gym since the spring of 2019. My workouts on the MaxPro have provided me with that pump I’ve missed getting before the pandemic. Up until now I’ve resorted to two pairs of dumbbells, suspension bands and running.

Variety is back in my routine and I love having access to a real gym, the MaxPro!.

The maxpro can* be the total gym but I feel its more of an addon to a home gym then a “total gym”. Lacks eccentric resistance which is crucial and extremely beneficial when doing squat type of movements as you need to build your legs to support the weight going up and down as well.

Have to appreciate what this tiny/portable machine can do and understand that due to its size and portability it will have comprises. For the record strength bands are not the same nor similar and silly to compare.

This resistance feels like actual weight. 100lbs feels like 100lbs. Cliff notes. Concentric resistance (resistance as you engage the muscle) no Eccentric resistance (0 resistance as you return to original position.

Lightweight and built well. Calibration is simple and quick. Need frequent use to break it in as it can feel choppy for a bit. Portable can take it with you. Resistance feels like actual weight not like what you feel from a loop strength band.

Which is a stretchy feel. Quick to adjust weights and comes with bars/ankle straps/handle straps. The maxpro definitely feels complete when coupled with the bench and the wall rack. Rack is well built and provide different angles.

Bench is very solid and provides even more variety. Using the maxpro on it provides so much versatility as doing incline movements on it is based on the angle of the cable so no real need to have an incline bench.

This is a great piece of equipment that filled in the gap in my home gym. Already have 90lb powerblock dumbbells with an adjustable bench. I was using strength bands with wall hooks top/bottom to get different angles definitely not good enough for muscle building.

After a week of maxpro doing back movements I see more development in my upper back. It can do all of the cable exercises you would do at the gym at home now. Even can do leg extensions and leg curls with the bench with ease.

It was weird not having eccentric resistance. I made the adjustment and squeezed and held it for 2 seconds at the top of the movement. Doing lat pulldowns and other rowing motions on this had my back sore in areas i have not felt sore in the past.

I can’t compare it to Tonal or Mirror as those take up a large footprint and the maxpro is really tiny so I can’t expect the world out of it but it is definitely good enough. The Tonal has eccentric resistance but requires a $50 membership and thats an expensive retention price just for that.

If they come out with a new version that provides eccentric resistance I do not think I would upgrade as I feel holding it for that extra squeeze is all I need. In summary I like it and haven’t felt this excited to work out in a long time.

The wife and I enjoy using it and we fight over using it sometimes :).

I assembled it myself. Had fun, even though manual was incorrect in 2 places. I have been using and very happy I got this item. It definitely not a gym quality equipment and the bottom is not very thought out.

It is very strict pull-up bar set up. Considering I also purchased $15-20 tools to assemble this bar, I am slowly falling in love with this item. The potential is great, with a thought for another upgrade next year.

Great delivery, thinking about skateboard.

It builds well and the quality seems pretty nice as well especially at the pricepoint I got it at. Not really a complaint but a design suggestion. Without the use of counterweights like sandbags or anything else, the structure tends to want to tip over when you do tricep dips.

So maybe having an option to bolt to the ground would be nice. (option of course). I used concrete bags. Fantastic product though.

Great equipment. I wish there were some extra pieces for various screws and nuts because some are small and could’ve easily been lost in the process. Other than that, the power tower works great and has given me good variety in my home workouts during quarantine.

I shopped long and hard for a versatile gym system compact enough to fit in our garage that had enough weight to ensure I could progressively increase the intensity of my workouts. The PX2 is extremely well-engineered and functional.

Moving through a workout is easy, adjusting the seat, back pad and arms is quick and intuitive. I can pop into the garage, bang out 3 sets each of 11 exercises in 90 minutes, and head inside for dinner.

I can also head down between Zoom meetings to get the blood flowing back to my head. No time wasted traveling to a gym, or waiting for machines to open up while lollygaggers socialize. Very satisfied with the purchase.

I wanted to switch from an old power cage using weight plates to a stack weight system. The Powerline P2LPX is the perfect solution. The injuries sustained over the years limit my comfortable range of motion allowed by my joints.

Fortunately the P2LPX allows for controlled joint articulation and repetitive rep movements. The leg press really helps to control pain and injury in my failing knees. While space was not an issue for me the P2LPX does not occupy a large area, although it is over 6 ft tall.

Assembly is a time consuming project. Give yourself a day or two to complete the process. It’s not overly complicated and anyone with basic mechanical skills can accomplish the assembly process. Just be patient.

Good home gym. Installation was easy as majority of parts were assembled. It’s compact and easy to use. Our family love using this home gym!

Very happy with both the product and service. Will definitely be using Best Fitness Equipment again and fully recommend them. They delivered to WA in a very fast time. With all components intact and no damage to the packaging.

I was able to commence assembly straight away. The Powerline functional trainer meets all my needs and more. It replaced my old quad cable machine that I had for 20 plus years and I’m sure with the quality of my new machine it will last just as long.

The cables run smooth, the weight stack is more than enough and the pull up bar is solid when doing chins or hanging leg raises. Easy to put together by yourself if you have a background in exercise equipment, it takes about 3 hours for one person, but would recommend two people if available.

Instructions are easy to follow.

I was very nervous to spend the money on this because I didn’t believe I could get a high quality trainer for this price. Installation was lengthy and a bit tedious, but certainly very straightforward.

Took me about 3-4 hours. The machine is incredibly smooth. In fact, it’s smoother than what I’m used to at the gym which I was not expecting. It’s very sturdy and looks like it will pass the test of time.

I’ve used it nearly every day for about a month now and nothing has deteriorated. The only negative I can find is that when I lower the handles, a ton of slack gets in the cables and it looks like it could slip off the bottom pulley.

I simply keep a tiny bit of tension in the line when I lower it now and I’ve never had a problem. The weight stack is sufficient for pretty much any basic cable exercise; but isn’t great for pull downs or low rows because those moves typically use a single stack and 160 pounds isn’t enough weight.

I purchased a straight bar attachment with hooks on both ends that allowed me to use both stacks at once. It was around $20 on Amazon and allows me to do heavier row exercises. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied.

I’ve always relied on free weights and Olympic lifting in the past, but the PFT 100 has allowed me to experiment more and do things I wouldn’t ever try in a commercial gym. I’m relying on it more and more and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a solid home gym centerpiece without a huge price tag.

Lastly, I was very happy with the customer service. Joe responds personally to questions very quickly. I had no issues with preserving or delivery. Very pleased with Strength Warehouse.

Prior to my first daughter being born 2. 5 years ago, I was a fairly active person, regularly running 25-30 miles/week and even running several ultramarathons. Strength training wasn’t a priority, but something I occasionally did.

Two kids in 2. 5 years later and I have run maybe 25-30 miles total this year, and my muscles are hidden under layers of belly fat. Finding time to work out was extremely challenging, and I have never been much for going to the gym.

I decided to invest in the Bowflex Revolution after reading quite a few reviews (it’s definitely an investment), and I can say that I am extremely pleased with my purchase! Setup took less than 3 hours (by myself), and the workout instructions are clear and easy to use.

I am currently still doing the “introductory” 20 minute workout plan as I get more comfortable with the equipment and build up strength, but I don’t feel like I am losing out on strength development by not using regular weights.

Also, I am actually motivated to get out of bed at 4:45 every morning to work out before getting the kids up for daycare. The cost is going to be a hurdle to some, but if you can afford it, or can afford to invest in it, I would absolutely recommend the Revolution to anyone looking for a do-it-all in a compact package workout machine! #sweepstakes.

I was so excited for this to arrive I took the day off work. As a disabled veteran with limitations this has changed my life. I’ve only had it less than a month and the difference in how I feel about myself and the convenience of having it in my garage make this the best new purchase of 2022 besides my new house.

I can get a full body workout in 30 to 45 minutes. I have spent some time in the gym previously so I know my way around a cable system and how to work my muscle groups. To a new comer it may seem like a lot but as with anything, the more you practice the better you become.

Don’t discourage yourself, believe in yourself and know that this piece of equipment is what you are looking for. The set up is step by step, follow the piece of paper, lay out all the boxes but keep all the stuff in the boxes.

Wait until the instruction tell you to open. Other than that, I’ve found that metal coat hooks can store the attachments on the wall. I really need the weight holder rack but I can’t afford it. Also, you can leave the weights on the bar and as long as they aren’t locked in they won’t create any resistance.

Once you get a pattern of how you work out, you can arrange and just slide and lock. The #sweepstakes win would be life changing.

So, I’m a 50+ female who is ‘starting all over again’ with fitness. I wanted something multifunctional that would work all the muscle groups. This fit the bill. It was fairly easy to assemble with 2 people, although when I took out the seat it had a tear in it that was not apparent from the packaging – somewhat disappointing.

Aside from that, all parts were there, and in good condition. However, the instruction book was not very helpful with getting started. I went online and found some great YouTube videos that really helped.

Would recommend this item. Be aware that the PR1000 does not support upgrading the power rods. That’s fine for me, but you might want to choose another model if you anticipate wanting more weight. Overall I’m very happy with the purchase.

I bought this a 5 years ago. It took 8 hours to put together with the crude instructions. I don’t know if they changed them, but man… it was not step by step. It was literally a bunch of pictures with the quantity of that specific part.

After it was completed it was almost as if it needed grease on the pulley system and the support bars for that holds the Olympic bar in place. They seemed to take a lot of extra effort to move when using either.

In short. I sold it and put it together for the new owner. It seemed to work smoother after putting it back together for the new owner. I would just buy a more expensive one next time to try my luck… and no pulleys.

For the price it’s a great home gym that lets you do pretty much everything you could want. I’ve been lifting as my main hobby for over 10 years now and got this to replace my old cage that was finally on its last leg.

I love the extra options this has, the butterfly, dual top cables, good low pully; for what you get it’s a great machine. For anyone curious, it took me about 4-5 hours start to finish to put it together by myself, not too bad and it was easy enough.

Just know this is a bear to put together. It will take a good 4 hours if going solo. I don’t consider that a negative. That aside, I had a few issues. The right arm wasn’t machined properly and didn’t slide in with ease.

After 10 minutes realizing the fit was too tight I had to pound it in with a mallet. Also, on the right side the arm height adjuster wasn’t machined properly either and wouldn’t drop in. It gave me fits and even with a few dozen mallet poundings it still barely dropped in.

When I try to pull it back out. Wow, good luck with that. It’s pretty much stuck for lift in that one spot because of the machining defect. Thankfully, I landed it in the right hole. Finally, the seat is way too wobbly.

This is a design/engineering issue and the major downside to this piece of equipment. While it’s usable, the seat wobbles like crazy, like some poor old adjustable bench. Overall, if I knew then what I know now I wouldn’t have purchased this.

It’s functional, and I’ll get use our of it, but between the seat wobble/design flaw and the poor machining it needs a bit of improvement.

I like this machine a lot. The assembly was reasonably easy. I initially put the foot plate on upside down, but that was my error. Pros: Very smooth operation. Many F-I-D angles. Neutral and standard grip options.

Can be used unilaterally. Versatile, I performed shrugs and seated one arm presses as well as chest presses. No spotter needed. Very effective. The shrugs were amazing and unexpected. A great value. Cons: Not many.

The bench moves slightly. The neutral grips could be a bit longer to give a narrower grip option for people with bad shoulders. The bottom end of the bench could be a little bit longer. These are minor things.

The unit is excellent. I have a blown out right rotator cuff and I have a very hard time with regular push movements these days. I tested out this unit with 20 sets of chest presses, 3 sets of shrugs, and four sets of seated one arm presses(like a Viking press).

I got a great pump and a deep burn. The unit performed better than I expected. Paired with the plate loaded dip unit, I can again hit my push movements hard and comfortably.

Picked up this machine prior to the price hike, and I am very pleased. This machine is extremely versatile. +Positives – the overall unit is very sturdy and smooth with only some slight wobble (in the arms) when you really stack on the weight.

Decline, flat, and incline all work well for chest (It does take some sets to dial in the settings/position, angle, etc. , before becoming entirely conformable). Hit traps via shrugs and shoulders via a Viking press movement (by sitting the opposite way), as well.

Place the stoppers on the lowest level, and I can hit bent over single arm back rows. -Negatives, the angle of the handle is just a bit off. I have tested them both ways (flipped in and flipped out).

I find that the flipped in variation is more natural for the standard grip bench press. However, it makes the close grip a bit more awkward. The flipped out version is (as in the pictures) feels more natural for the close grip but is slightly awkward for the standard grip.

Finally, I agree with some comments that the handles are just slightly wider than I prefer. the best way I can describe the result is that the overall feeling, while using this machine for chest, is “tension” on the muscle rather than “squeeze.

” (I am 5’10” with relatively long arms). That being said, since owning this machine, I have significantly improved my chest development.

I bought this in store last week of Dec even though it shows no stock. It comes as a 3 pc set of boxes. No damage to anything and was happy that all the screws, nuts and stuff were labeled. Instructions are VERY basic and get worse as the build goes on.

Pay very close attention to your steps bc the instructions leave steps out and it gets frustrating as you get to assembling the pulleys. I luckily had a similar gym setup from Walmart years ago so I was familiar with how it assembled otherwise I would have been lost bc the instructions missed a lot of steps and a few pages at the end.

Took about 4 hours to assemble with me and my son. It’s a nice beginner setup and easy to use with many workouts. Worth the price once you get it built.

Bought this during covid-19 and it was hard to find. The closest one I could find was at a Dicks about 85 miles away. These were flying off the shelf so I bought one online and made the long drive to pick it up.

You can find this from online retailers, but those prices were way over inflated and many of the reviews talked about damage. I am guessing their delivery people weren’t as careful as the Dicks staff because mine had no damage at all.

I just recently set it up and only time will tell for sure, but the machine feels way more solid than I would have expected for the amount I spent! This is a great buy. Only negatives that I could find are the directions could be a little better (see below) and its a little short on the hardware.

This comes with a chain and two quick links – enough to connect the pull down bar but you have to disconnect the pull down bar to connect the ankle strap. This is not a big deal – its easy enough to switch it out or spend a few bucks at the hardware store and problem solved.

Assembly. The instructions are ok but there were a few things that were not clear. Here’s a few tips: 1. There are holes on the sides of the rods that the weights are slid down over. It does not matter what direction these holes are pointing.

The holes are only there so you can insert a lock (direction not important). I spent a long time trying to figure this out. 2. The upper most weight has holes on the top and bottom and a few grooves in the top.

The picture in the directions make it look like the holes only side should be up. The rod that you insert the pin into to select the weights will not go all the way down and I cannot use the bottom weight.

I think the top weight should have the grooves side up so the rod can insert deeper into the weight stack. 3. It is very easy to overlook the rectangular double washer plates that go below where the two vertical pieces that hold the bench attach to the piece that runs along the floor.

I only realized I missed these when I was done and now have to unbuild most of it to install these. Just a heads up. the Dicks website say this is MWM-990. When I picked mine up, the boxes said it is MWM-989.

I called Marcy to ask about this and they said it is the same machine with a slightly different trim just for Dicks. The one I have looks like the pictures so I am not sure what the difference is, I just wanted to let readers know the machines function the same, so don’t freak out if your boxes say MWM-989.

Another heads up, Marcy has a video showing someone working out with this machine. The video shows him using a short bar to do curls. This machine comes with the pull down bar, but the shorter bar in the video is not included.

You can still use the pull down bar for the curls or purchase the shorter bar separately.

It took me about 4-5 hours to set it up. Instructions were okay but could be better, I had lots of experience in putting some furniture together so it was pretty easy to figure out. It comes with spare parts as well.

The size is pretty compact, roughly about 69†in length, 78†high and 35†wide. The gym itself is pretty good, it comes with a regular bar that can be used for pull-downs/biceps curls. It does need some tweaking once it’s finished though.

Do not tightened the bench press too much in order for you to get the full range of motion. However, my partner (who is much taller than me) can’t do all the exercises because it’s too cramped. I found out that it’s not recommended for anyone who’s 6’ tall or more.

First off, I really do like the BowFlex PR3000. It’s extremely versatile, easy to use, and very smooth in operation. I really love the fact that I can do many different exercises without having to reset the machine.

Now the bad news. BowFlex support is terrible! I’ve had to call them 4 to 5 times and each and every time I was placed on hold for almost an hour while waiting to talk with a live person. E-mail is almost as bad.

I had issues while doing the assembly of the machine, see the first pic that I attached. Once the base is assembled and the bolts tightened the results are as you see. One leg of the base doesn’t touch the floor.

It’s not my floor as I tried it in another location, same result. I did assemble the machine as is and it does work, after adding a piece of wood under the leg. A costly piece of equipment such as this shouldn’t have to have this done.

I believe that the welds for the brackets were done incorrectly. My second problem is with the height of the PR3000. See the second pic. Before buying I did a bunch of online research. Everywhere that I looked the height was stated as being 82 inches.

I even asked the BowFlex rep what the height was, she told me 82″. I explained to the rep that the ceiling of my basement gym is 82. 5 inches, so the height was a big concern for me. She again stated that the height is 82″.

I wasn’t too happy to discover that the true height of the assembled machine is 83. 5″. As you can see, I had to remove ceiling tiles to make it work. I brought these issues to the attention of two different BowFlex reps.

I sent email along with pics of the issues to them. They replied to me but completely ignored the issues, totally blowing me off. Now I can’t even get them to reply to me. I’m sure that they are hoping that I be quiet and go away, I’m not.

I don’t expect a miracle, or to have my machine replaced. But I don’t expect to be blown off and ignored either.

I debated for a long time trying to decide what type of home gym I wanted to put into my home during the COVID epidemic. I have used commercial gyms for a long time to keep in shape and to complement my running and golf habits.

I wasn’t sure if I would like the bowflex power rods vs weights but have been pleasantly suprised! First, the delivery and set up was incredibly easy and well mapped out. The parts were all clean and free of grease so I did not make a mess of the carpet.

The instructions and packaging were the best I have ever seen and believe me, I have put together a bunch of home projects for our kids, etc. The unit itself is amazing and really allows for working out any muscle group that you want.

They describe 75 exercises but really the number is unlimited if you are creative. What I like is the circuit training feel to the apparatus. You can go from quads to Lats to chest and back again in a circuit until you are done.

Just amazing. It does take time to figure out how to get it set up properly and what “weights” you want to use. I combine this with free weights and a sit up / weight bench and am very happy. I get a great workout and the power rods seem to be a little easier on the joints and tendons.

The only downside would be the crunch apparatus which I don’t care for but I don’t really like the ones in the gym either. Also the preacher curl device is a little awkward to set up and use but is still a good device.

All in all A++. I am extremely happy with the purchase and feel that it is well worth the money and is incredibly well engineered. #sweepstakes.

I ordered the machine on May 7th and it was delivered on May 18th which is very good because of the coronavirus situation. But when I received it the main box it came in (2 boxes for the weights 1 for the machine) was in bad condition.

When I opened it up the shield that cover the plates when fully assembled was bent on the top left corner so I used pliers to fix it to the best of my abilities. Parts: All the parts were there that are to be used to put it together.

Note: Description says total weight is 283lbs. Please use caution with all three boxes. The two boxes that contains the weight plates each hold seven so the weight is roughly 70lbs per box. The main box is roughly around 143lbs so I recommend getting help to bring all three in.

Assembly: The instruction manual that came with the machine pretty much is easy to understand. It is all diagrams and pictures showing you what pieces go where. Putting the machine together was not difficult at all.

I followed the instructions and put it together without any help. As far as time I really can’t say because I was in no hurry of putting it together but I will say it will take a few hours to assemble.

Note: The “X” that is crossing out the wrench and screwdriver in the instruction manual means that you do not tighten the screws yet. Doing so will make it challenging to line up everything correctly when assembling the machine.

Using the machine: I am a bodybuilder @ 5’9″ 200lbs. This review is for individuals around my height. The machine is absolutely great. I really love the machine. I do not have to worry about going to the gym though they are closed in my state.

For my height it fits me good. I can do all the exercises without any problems. I wish the machine had an adjustable seat to raise and lower when doing chest exercises. Leg extensions were no problem to do.

My feet never scraped the floor when doing the exercise. I highly recommend not using the chain when doing lat pulldowns. It shortens your range of motion tremendously. I only use the chain when doing straight-arm pulldowns.

Also I went to Walmart and purchased snap hooks because I got tired of screwing and unscrewing the hooks that came with it when switching to do a different exercise. I love this machine and do recommend it to beginners and intermediates.

For heavy lifters and tall people this is not for you.

The home gym as a whole is durable and pretty comfortable for the price. This is coming from a 6. 3′ 270lb guy. I’m maxing it out constantly so it holds up. My only gripe is the casing on the bottom cable stripped off after a week of use.

Nothing major and yes it is correct. It’s Ironic because Marcy equipments slogan is “when you finally get serious”. Well I guess I’m too serious. Marcy said they would replace the cable with proof of purchase, but I normally don’t expect gym equipment to fail so I didn’t save the receipt, plus there’s nothing wrong with the cable I’d just strip the new one again I’m sure.

The FTG30 is a great all round machine, particularly coupled with some Olympic plates. The build quality is really good and it’s really sturdy overall. I haven’t bolted mine down and it hasn’t moved or wobbled at all.

The instructions were relatively clear and assembly took 2 hours on my own. I would recommend getting someone to help though, particularly to balance the larger bits while you bolt them up, particularly if you aren’t too handy with a spanner yourself.

The range of exercises available is great and transitions between exercises is quick and easy with the quick release sliders. There are also safety chains to hold the attached barbell out of the way.

The chin-up/pull up bar is also really solid, not moving at all when I drag my 92kg up and down. Make sure you remember to oil/prep the sliding parts before use. the instructions don’t mention this but it’s required for safe and easy usage.

Plenty of storage for plates and accessories. The size is actually more compact than I anticipated but still roomy within the frame so you can fit a decent quality FID bench in between. Overall a great product.

The customer service from World Fitness has also been second to none. I had an issue with the courier and they jumped straight on it for me, resolving the issue quickly and with clear communication.

I really like this system coupled with a separate purchase of Olympic weight plates. Even with that extra money I prefer this over the smaller sets with weight stacks on them. Two people assembly would be nice but wasn’t a necessity as I did it myself.

Make sure you set your flat head bolts in the holes and use your socket set and a quality hex driver for the hex head bolts and you’ll have a much more enjoyable assembly. My only complaint would be at Marcy the manufacturer, for very poor assembly instructions.

All built and working , instructions could be better but ok , used. YouTube to fill the gaps , took 2 evenings to assemble as expected ( it’s a big piece of equipment), all part present and fitted perfectly.

We are now using and it’s great , would recommend. It also looks the part. The smith machine is excellent and the other exercise apparatus is well constructed. Only issue some paint work could be better.

But will fix that ourselves sometime. There are some good videos on YouTube for this machine. How to build and how to work out. Worth watching. Cabling takes a bit of working but following the instructions in correct sequence will keep things right.

The delivery was abysmal. I have a disability and the driver left the three heavy boxes at the entrance to my secure block of units, even though I was standing at my front door. A neighbour had to help me drag them into my unit.

I independently sourced a local company who put it together for me. It took their tradesman three hours to assemble it – they were fantastic. Lucky I printed a copy of the assembly manual as the paper copy wasn’t in the first box opened.

The home gym is now assembled, but I need to get some silicone spray to lubricate it as it is very stiff to use. There was none provided with the home gym, so have sourced it separately. Hopefully this will loosen the machine and make it easy to use.

There was a rolled up sheet of exercises to use, though I’ll get my exercise physiologist to run over these with me. Fingers crossed.

I have only been using this gym for a week, but it seems to be working fine. Smooth operation and fairly comfortable. Very compact compared to some others. Also, the price was very good. Sams was, by far, the cheapest price and shipping was included.

I am tall and the machine has an adjustable seat, so it works fine for me. Now, the assembly instructions (not instructions, just diaghrams) were horrible. Just a bunch of pages with bad copies of parts.

I could do much better with a cheap digital camera and a copy machine. This is not much of an issue with the big parts, but the small parts are impossible to identify. You must measure many of the parts (such as bolt length) to identify and also use process of elimination by grouping known parts, then go through the rest and group them based on other known factors, such as number that are supposed to be in the box.

That doesn’t always work, as I had a “steel bushing” missing and there were only 7 of these in the box instead of 8. (“Steel bushing” is actually a plastic bushing) Also, I got the 150 pound weight stack, which is optional.

No additional instructions included with it. I assembled and put the stack on top of the weight “carriage” (part N), but the cable is too short when you do that. I emailed the company to ask for a new cable and after several email exchanges, they finally understood what was wrong and told me not to use the weight “risers” (part L) when adding the weight stack.

This would have been nice to know BEFORE I had assembled. I had to pull apart several pieces and reassemble. Absolutely horrible instructions and no instructions for adding weight stack.

Am very pleased with the ordering experience with Sam’s Club and timely delivery by FedEx. Assembly instructions consist of parts-id list and parts-keyed drawings which are adequate excepting a couple of points, but would probably be difficult for someone not very mechanically inclined.

Note-if you bought the optional 150# adjustable weight stack you will NOT use use the 2 grey , round tubes with enlarged ends! And the square bar with solid ,round weight bar at each end goes on TOP of the weight stack, not on the bottom, and the long socket-head bolt goes thru the square bar, threads thru the top hole of the weight stack lift rod and is finally capped off by a washer and nut.

It took me probably 3 hours to put it together plus more time to correct a few errors and fine tuning to get all the cable slack out and still permit easy weight-selector pin operation. Everything works smooth as silk, quietly with a good quality sound.

It will give you one heck of a work-out and I am thoroughly pleased with it. Be aware it is heavy and awkward to move. For the price, I think it is head and shoulders above anything we researched and will do well everything it is billed to do plus its quality is high.

The quality of the product is outstanding and the thought that went into the design of its functionality is exceptional. My wife is only 4′ 10″ tall and I am 6′. The system provides enough select-ability on all components that we can both perform every advertised exercise comfortably.

The assembled product is sturdy and well laid out so that the motions are smooth and quiet. The directions are minimal (as others have mentioned) but if you take the time to first understand the assembly depicted on each page and then follow the sequencing you should be just fine.

I will caution that you should install the pulleys (there are a lot of them) and route the cables at the same time (i. e. drape the cable over the pulley and then install the pulley) otherwise you will find yourself disassembling a lot of the pulleys due to insufficient clearance for cable ends to pass through the assembled opening.

Assembly tools are provided but you will be much more efficient with your own socket set and adjustable wrench. I put it together by myself over the course of two evenings (about 4 hours total) and only required assistance from my wife for about 5 minutes in order to hold a component in place while I installed the fasteners.

I did find a defective part that was quickly replaced simply by emailing (with a picture of the defective component attached) a representative at Body Solid. Strength Warehouse USA (the lowest price overall) provided a flawless home delivery service.

Excellent this far. This is my second Body-Solid Gym purchased for home use. I bought the first one, which is still going strong, about 16 years ago. I had to buy a new gym because the guy who bought my home wanted me to leave the old one when I moved.

The Fusion 500 is very smooth and provides a ton of exercises that can be incorporated into anyone’s full body workout. I would highly recommend it.

So impressed with the quality of the materials. The pulleys are really great since it allows you to adjust or change it to a different angle.

I love Strength Warehouse USA Seated Row. This equiptment Is solid steel. It’s compact sturdy& perfect for a home gym. Assembly was a ease The team was supportive & addressed all my needs. Only one thing I didn’t like & can understand due to the current time is the delays/ backorder aspect.

Reguardless I’d still give it 5 stars. I bough 2 of these once for my self & one for a friend.

Great piece of equipment. Helps me stay in shape as I get older and continue to break personal bench press records. Great value for the price. Easier to put together than it looks.

This machine is very solid ,and a nice proper position for you upper chest development. Takes my strength and chest to the next level. This is my fourth plate loaded machine by steelflex !love them all very impressive,trust me! Martin D.

A terrific piece of equipment and you won’t regret hiring someone to assemble it. Buy and lay out your rubber mats in advance because you can’t easily move it after assembly. I bought the G12 to satisfy two gym-starved teenagers during the pandemic so the 1:1 ratio was not an issue at all, even for dad.

They have been using this machine with the heaviest loads non-stop for 5 months and I am impressed with its sturdiness and smooth cable and smith machine operation. The G12 has a small footprint because its front facing weight plate storage allows you to push it up against a wall, and you can access the plates from inside and out.

Given that it is a relatively compact unit, I was careful to select a FID bench that could fit inside the unit for inclined bench presses on the smith machine. For this you need a FID bench whose head rest easily overhangs its back legs when elevated at 45 degrees.

This way you can guide it head-first deep into the machine. Hardly anyone needs this functionality but I mentioned it just in case. My son’s are 6’3 so the other important consideration was buying a low FID bench so that they can do fully extended lat pull-downs using the cable function and padded leg support.

Most benches are between 40 and 55cm high in the flat position so anything under 45cm works well for seated pull-downs if you are tall. Finally, if you buy a FID bench for the G12 with a leg extension and leg curl attachment you will have a complete home gym.

After looking for a while what kind of affordable rack with all the belt and whistles and something that can do pretty much all. I settle for the G12. I DID checked REP, MARCY, ROGUE but the price, size, material and attachments they just didn’t have it all in one.

I originally wanted the G9 but it was out of order at the time and after talking to CALEB and DAN from FORCE USA it helped me clear my mind and focus on the G12. yes more expensive but i get 2×200 loaded plates which saves me money on the long run as it is 1:1 ratio.

yet i keep the space and free weight to add onto the smith machine and squad. which was a plus for me as i have lots of plates. The costumer service was above and beyond , if i could give more stars i would.

i even video chat with CALEB who showed me the racks and answered any questions i had. in addition i have been talking to DAN via FACEBOOK and they can check things for me. lots of companies dont do that.

i asked question about metal rating, and others that don’t appear on some of the machines. all was clear and upfront. one recommendation i have is for for the company to bring the colors back!! that would be amazing.

but please don’t change the costumer service!! please give those guys a raise as well. i am expecting the power rack in 12 days (i know this can change) once i do i will update this review or make a new one.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I have NOT been able to find a FID bench that will work on the G12’s Smith Machine while inclined. Meaning I cannot perform incline bench presses on this Smith machine. I’ve tried several brands and styles of benches, and even Force USA does not offer a bench that works.

The problem is that the benches will not fit far enough under the Smith bar to be able to perform incline presses. I wish I would have thought to check this while I was in Utah looking at the machines.

I have old shoulder injuries that ail me these days, so using the Smith was/is a really important factor in me purchasing this machine. Needless to say, I am very disappointed that I cannot perform incline bench pressing movements on my brand new nearly $6K machine.

(BTW – I contacted Force USA twice about this and they basically just brushed me off telling me they don’t know of a solution. This after putting me on hold to go check their benches on the G12 and then acting surprised on the phone with me when they found out their own benches won’t work for Smith incline presses on their own very expensive machine.

And speaking of expensive. I will also add that I expected the attachments that came with this very expensive piece of equipment to be higher quality than they are. I ended up spending even more money to get higher quality attachments.

Other than these complaints, the machine itself is a beast. Good quality and smooth operation. And fits nicely in my home gym.
