20 Best Chevy Lift Kits (2022 Updated)

2018 F-150 2wd – installed by myself. Took me 2 hrs for drivers side, 20 mins for passanger side. Make sure to unclip abs/brake lines. No need to remove strut bottom bolts. Insert bottom first, step on lower control arm, push the top in while pushing upper control arm up.

There is more slack in abs/brake lines on passenger side, hence it took me a lot less time to install. Truck looks great. Also installed 1″ rear block, which was necessary for me, as I was dead even after 2″ fronts went in.

Wanted to retain some rake and avoid Carolina squat look when loaded. Overall great kit, would highly recommend, be careful not too overtighten it.

I installed this lift with a friend on my truck in about 45 minutes. It was really easy and made a visible difference in the look of my truck. I decided to go with the red aluminum over the black plastic for obvious reasons.

The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is the cheap garbage bolts that were supplied. I trashed those and supplied my own grade 12. 9 metric bolts, washers, and all metal lock nuts.

This kit didn’t just make my truck look better, it turned heads! When I first installed it my neighbor’s wife was eyeballing it AND me! Boy was her husband upset when he came home to find her in my backyard pool cooling off after a HOT afternoon if you catch my drift.

I since then have moved due to the hostile environment of being a homewrecker. Me and Martha (the aforementioned female) have bought a new home and wish they made a kit for decks! My “deck” has a gnarly bend in it, but that will have to be fixed with a little elbow grease from Martha! To make things short, this kit made my truck look fantastic, got me the best fornication in years, and a new girlfriend! Buy the kit, meet hot moms, live large.

It took me a long time, over a year to choose a kit. I ultimatly deceided on this kit for numerous reasons. There is no cutting or welding involved , the warranties offered, the easily obtainable replacement ball joints if needed in the future, and the quality and completeness of this kit.

It covers all the bases. You get the 3. 5 lift in front, 2 inch in rear which gives you an awsome stance. I can honestly say that i love this kit, glad i went with it. It looks amazing, i put 305 55 20s on my stock wheels with no rubbing or other issues.

The truck handles better than stock. My truck had the stamped steel arms, and these new superlift arms are awsome, can feel the difference in handling and responsiveness. Substantial improvement over stock.

The bilstein rear shop option is a great improvement over stock as well. Differential drop rounds out the kit.

The ball joint on the upper control arm that came in the lift broke and I’m afraid that I’m going to need a whole replacement control arm for the drivers side. Can I order a new control arm alone or is this piece covered under warranty?.

The lift kit was easy to I stall. We had access to a left which really made it easier than laying on the garage floor. Especially when it came to installing the spacers for the front differential.

I purchased a 2. 5 inch kit. My first kit installing and first 4×4 vehicle. Back went on super easy and happy with height and stance. Front also went on fairly easy but had to cut the u bolts to be able to get a socket on for torquing.

I attribute that to my leaf pack only having 4 leafs. After I got it installed, front springs sat completely flat. I heard mixed things whether the springs should be completely flat or have arch. Called customer support, asked my question, they requested me email a few measurements and pictures, did that, never heard back they just mailed me new front springs.

I assumed I for the wrong ones at first. So, spent another weekend replacing the front springs…. too short. First springs measured 46. 5 inches, second ones 43. 5. Springs brought my front axel forward 2.

5 inches and when I put a tire on and let the truck under it’s own load, tires were in the fender and not drivable. Called rough country support and took a 4 tries for someone to actually listen and answer my first initial question about if they should be flat.

Long story short, told me to install the original ones sent……. another few hours of my time. So I all, took me about 22 hours to install including my 6 calls to customer support. Do your research on the kits before ordering from here.

In the end I am running the kit because it’s on, but won’t purchase again from here, will explore other options.

Enjoyed installing the kit. Highly recommend getting a new steering stabilizer. As for tools a pitman arm puller that fits, stout jack and large jack stands. Little car stuff won’t work. Started on the weekend, gave up in the heat of the day.

Had a buddy help some. Then after work for 4 days. Had some issues that had to wait till the next day for parts or tools. Some stuff fell together, other times it would fight me for longer than I would have liked.

I bought the truck with 37’s and a 2″ leveling kit. The tires rubbed. Nothing says idiot like rubbing tires because everyone knows you installed tires bigger than your truck can handle. Couldn’t give up the tires, so I lifted it, The warning sticker they give you had me freaked out about driving, but everything was okay when test driving.

First task was pulling a trailer to town, drove and handled well. Need to get the tow set, steering wheel is off(was before, worse now. ) Corners are a little harder so I need to take them a little slower.

Braking seems about the same. New shocks helped with the ride. Recommend this kit.

I purchased a 2″ lift kit for my 77 K5 blazer to replace some saggy leaf springs and put a little lift in my truck. The shipment was delayed by FedEx by about a week and when I received the springs they were shipped bare metal, just a label directly applied to the spring.

the paint was significantly scratched, and the retaining C clip was actually bent on 2 of them. There was no packing list included so I could not really verify if I was shipped the right goods of if I actually received everything in the order.

during installation of the first spring I was unable to torque the U-bolt fastening nuts as the length of the ubolts is way too long to fit a long socket over the protruding end and still engage the nut.

Also the shock absorbers sent with the kit will bottom out about 3-4 inches before the spring will hit the rubber pad on the frame. it seems to me the u-bolts shipped are to go with the version that uses a block below the spring (and above the axle) to give the lift.

no blocks were included in my kit and the kit I purchased is supposed to have the lift in the arch of the leaf spring. the rear springs are suffering the same issue with the U-bolts being too long to be able to torque.

So either I ind a way to cut the ubolts down while on the truck, or I received the wrong items or am missing items for this kit. but this is certainly not just a slap on project, expect to have to do some customization of the parts in order to complete your build.

the only reason this is 2 stars and not just one is because you can make it work, with a lot of effort and the proper tools, although I will probably ditch these shocks and get something that actually fits.

The product box was damage when I received it. But everything looked to be there in on tact. Install was very simple took about 2 hours to complete. After install I was very pleased with how the truck looked and handled.

It’s been on there for a week now and I’m very pleased with the product. I would recommend this product. But if you have a truck with a flat bed really need a 2” block in the back.

The kit arrived quickly, in perfect condition, but with no paperwork whatsoever, except a packing slip from summit. I clicked on the instructions on summits website, which were for a different kit. Notified summit asap, got a quick response.

However, I guess they are still waiting to hear from tuff country (TC) like me. I made 5 attempts to reach tuff country for a set of instructions. The one time I got a guy on the phone, he gave me a couple tips (below) but never offered to send me the instructions although I told him I’d emailed twice and called once already asking for them.

summit was fairly responsive, sending me the TC leveling kit instructions which explain the torsion keys. Also they sent me the skyjacker adaleaf instruction, which I don’t recommend following (I didn’t remove the entire leaf spring from the frame just dropped the axle).

What the TC leveling instructions don’t say is air up the tires equally before taking initial measurements and if you need to make further adjustments after installation, to level both sides, you will need to jack up the vehicle to take the weight off before turning the adjustment bolts.

Up down, Up down, kind of a hassle. Keep in mind, upon installing the new torsion keys, the adjustment bolts will be angled inboard, compared to the OEM vertical position. On the addaleaf I rejected the skyjacker instructions and used some other TC instructions for a FORD, that had a few decent pictures and some good cautionary info.

Save your factory bolt and use it for alignment while clamping the pack back together. Also the TC guy I spoke with says to install the long end to the rear, and keep the spacer plate above the adaleaf.

I jacked up the rear, supported with 2 stands, then did one side at a time because I didn’t have that many jacks & stands. I used a ratchet strap to pull the axle forward when reassembling the U bolts.

these shocks are wider than the factory and the boots were very close to my exhaust, so I cut off the rear boots after installation. I may also cut off the front boots – I’m worried the boots are not installed correctly but may never know for sure.

Regarding the front shocks, they have a thin welded nut to hold the top of the shock during installation but its positioned high and blocked by the upper shock support. Maybe you have a super thin angled open end wrench but I certainly didn’t.

The rear shocks come with 2 diameter bushings-make sure you choose the size that fits your bolts. Also they come with a bunch of other hardware that didn’t make sense. Who knows maybe its for another vehicle.

Even with very basic tools, and plenty of head scratching I was able to install the whole thing in 8 hours by myself. Air tools would have probably saved me a couple hours. Instructions would have saved a couple hours at least.

A second person would have probably saved a couple hours as well. Two guys with air tools could probably get this done in a few hours. Some guys may have done this before and toss the instructions anyway, but not me.

This was the first time I’d done the job – call me crazy I guess. As a double check I plan to have the mechanic at Les Schwab check my installation before alignment to make sure nothing got screwed up along the way.

Hopefully this review helps out the next guy until TC can get their act together and include a set of instructions for this “kit”.

Truck looks and rides great after installation. Directions for the install need some modifications for a 2015 GMC 1500. Dropping the front diff does not work out even close to what the directions descibe.

I did not have to notch the crossmember which it gives measurements of where to cut. Glad I checked before I cut it. But I did have to trim 2 fins off the front diff to clear the frame not the cross member.

Also had to trim rack and pinion steering to clear front diff. Very tight even after trimming. My suggestion would be a 3/4″ drop instead of 1″ on the front diff. I spent more time makeing the front diff clear than installing the rest of kit.

This was installed on a brfand new truck with 600 miles on it. Rides better than stock!!!! 2015 GMC 1500 SLE crew cab.

I have always wanted a truly lifted truck. I did my research, checked around about having professional installation but knew I would never turn over that kind of money. I really wanted to install myself and have a fair amount of knowledge/experience but admittedly almost got cold feet and let others do my install.

I had estimates from 2 different places to install the RC 7” lift on my 2016 GMC Sierra 2wd. Although it was a lot of work and there were a few kinks to work out, I am SO glad I stuck with it and completed it on my own.

I did call the great guys at RC Tech support a couple of times to verify a few items as the install instructions are for a wide variety of trucks, I wish they were more tailored and specific per application, but that really was my only complaint.

It did take me a bit longer than advertised but being new to this type of work and a bit particular so I’m sure that contributed. The ride is really good, but I have noticed decreased turning radius with the 35” tires installed.

All in all…very satisfied and would definitely recommend!.

Looks great and is easy to assemble. Instructions are easy and clear as day. One thing I wish I knew was that I was going to have to order new wheel bearings/hub assemblies for the front. Most trucks that are this old have corroded wheel bearings so you cant reuse the old ones.

Rough Country should have this noted in the description as a warning mentioning something about it. Got the kit thinking I had everything I needed and low and behold… old bearing wasnt reusable and now im having to wait for the new ones to arrive.

I was thinking maybe rough country could have an option to buy new ones with the kit or tell you before receiving the kit to buy new ones if you have old worn out corroded ones. If you have new ones.

They should come out of the old knuckles with ease and slide into the new knuckles provided with some grease. Most people dont have this case and it was frustrating to find out I was going to have to stop my build until I get the knew hub and bearings.

Everything else. Awesome job.

Product is heavy duty and well built. But come on, the instructions are less than desirable. When you scan the code it let’s you print out the instructions, which is great. But would be nice if they specified where and which bolts and nuts go where and for what.

And then no specification on much of anything. The pictures in the instructions were useful but you should have instructions for aluminum control arms, steel control arms, and cast control arms and not just one set of instructions for all three, it makes for confusing reading and very time consuming.

I have an engineering background and it was still very unclear. There was an added cost to me at the shop that installed it due to this. I spent alot of time myself on line trying to get information on how to install and what a night mare.

These issues should be addressed by yalls development department as it is very difficult to navigate.

My 17 yr. old son bought the 7. 5″ lift for his 2013 1500 4×4 Silverado. He did purchase the loaded front struts as well. We performed the lift installation over the weekend. It took about 12 hrs. total from start to finish.

We had a little trouble with removing one of the front bearings from the original spindle (no fault of RC). Once that hurdle was complete, the rest of the install went smooth. The overall installation was great.

All of the parts were bagged appropriately. Parts arrived on time and in 1 single delivery (there were a few boxes). Installation instructions were great. Couldn’t have been better. Lift looks awesome!! Already sending more new customers to RC!!.

I have purchased 3 lift kits from rough country, installation/fitment/instructuons has always been great. But in regards to this recent purchase the turning radius decrease after the installation makes my truck nearly undriveable, you can forget drive through and parking lots.

I cant even perform a rh turn with two lanes clear. Its ridiculous. The turning radius decrease is so great I cant even park in my own driveway, literally I’m parked on the damm sidewalk, not happy but since my frame horns and transfer case is cut up there is no going back.

My previous trucks were not subject to this decrease, I wish in the kit details they would state you loose the last 1/4 of you turning, really kinda bummed.

End result was pleasing. Truck drives great on road, decent off road. Installed onto 84 Ranger. Not a perfect kit. at least mine wasn’t. Had to bend the tabs out on the extended radius arms to slide over the traction beams(axles).

The drop mounts aren’t perfect, but manageable. Instructions were a little off as far as hole size for drilling passenger side drop mount(use the larger bolts supplied). I wouldn’t beat the crap out of the lift kit, like extreme off roading though.

No sway bars and truck drives good. Overall it came out good. Maybe 12 hours working, reworking. It was a little bit of work, not a smooth operation. Satisfied though. 1984 Ford Ranger 4×4 single cab short bed.

Overall I have been very happy with this product. the installation was pretty tricky but it was also expected. Reading the instructions was actually a big help when it came to the installation. I have only been using this product for a few weeks now but I have had no problems and it has accomplished everything I have wanted from it.

I would recommend this product for anyone looking to lift their vehicle themselves. I have driven many lifted vehicles and most of them ride pretty rough with this lift that was not the case it actually rode softer with the lift than it did stock.

1997 Ford F-250.

I am very pleased with the quality of these springs. Installation went well and all of the necessary parts were included in the kit. The instructions were even pretty good, although it mentions some grease that was “included”, but wasn’t in the kit.

Packaging for the front springs was lacking severely, but everything still made it in tact. If you are considering this kit for your Blazer, talk to the reps first. They are very helpful and easy to work with.

Personally, I recommend 4″ rear lift with the 3″ front. I will definitely work with Suspension Connection again for future needs. 1987 Chevrolet K5 Blazer.

Installed this on my 2004 F-250 6. 0l. It was an all day job for me and a buddy. It does its job, lifted the truck and rides just a touch better than stock. Everything you need is there and everything seems to be good quality but the instructions were awful.

Very outdated, they don’t include correct part numbers for the parts included. We had trouble figuring out which were the front and rear shocks among other things. The instructions for the front lift were spot on, but when you go to install the rear lift you’re essentially on your own.

The instructions only tell you how to install rear blocks, not leaf springs! Had to do a lot of cross referencing online to figure things out but we got it done. If they’d just write up an up to date instruction manual this would be a 5 star kit!.

I ordered a spring lift no blocks. First I was told it needs to be delivered to a company or a place with a forklift. It arrived at my work in several packages over the course of a few days. No equipment required.

Could totally be delivered to a house address. They don’t offer any u-bolts for dually axles cause the tube is larger. They did not include the drive line carrier spacer but tell you its required in the instructions.

They tell you how to re locate the front sway bar with parts but no parts to relocate the rear sway bar. Steering adjustment after lift instal to me at least seemed like it needed a longer adjustment coupler.

Not much threads left after I straitened the wheel out. After I finished getting everything else needed to compleat the installation its was an easy install and works as it should.

Overall, I like the kit. Installation was straight forward and simple for anyone that is familiar with working on machines. Good look, good ride, for a good price. I loved how fast the kit shipped, and arrived.

The only issue I had with the kit was that the provided hardware for bolting the brake line bracket to the upper control arm wasn’t long enough (even without the brake line bracket, the bolt hardly had any threads left after putting it through the upper control arm).

On a side note; my package was delivered in a broken open box, with parts spilling our and laying in my front yard. One of the straps that compress the rear shocks was broken. It was frustrating to receive a kit in pieces.

The only suggestion for improvement I have for shipping would be to add bands on it to try and help hold it together. I do have pictures of how the kit was delivered if anyone was interested.

I just got this kit installed on my 04 Silverado 2500HD 8. 1L. This kit is essentially the same thing as the 3in Zone adventure series kit except for one very important difference. this RC kit doesnt include a diff drop.

The vibes are terrible at hwy speeds and the CV angles are pretty extreme. I ordered the zone diff drop kit and had it installed. Way better!! Until RC includes diff drop, I cannot recommend this kit.

Do yourself a favor and go with the zone kit, which you also have the option to upgrade to fox shocks. Either way, you definitely want the diff drop!!! Aside from this the kit is OK fine. Shocks are stiff but seem to do well on washboard.

On road, stiff.

Start with the good. The kit rides quit nice, better than 16 year old factory equipment for sure. Issues with the kit. The studs on the shocks are short. I am not sure a 1/4” more would be enough. It took some time to compress the rubber enough, and flat enough, to start the nut on the top front shocks.

Many golf words were used. The hardware sent to remount the brake lines to the new arms is also short. No threads come through the hole to give any hope of catching. Luckily I had done longer on hand.

The kit really cannot be installed with these two issues. There are a few installation steps that could use more information and some things that just need more steps. Experience and wisdom pays off but if you are a novice ask around for advice.

The ride height is not what I was hoping for. The front end is higher than the rear, not just a little. Quite noticeable. I have the torsion bolts just under tension, as low as possible. Still sits high.

The rear blocks could use at minimum an inch, two more would be better. Unless you are going for the new southern, lift only the front end look, which I am not. Maybe I can buy taller blocks and bolts for the back, maybe I will just bag it but I shouldn’t need to correct it.

I am not sorry about the purchase but not happy either.

Nice kit. Everything seems well made and installation was fairly easy. The part I didn’t understand was why the hardware for lowering the front differential didn’t come with thick oversized washers like it came from the factory? GM thought it was necessary so why doesn’t RC? Also, I would like to see some torque specs in the instructions instead “torque to manufacturers specifications”.

Everyone doesn’t have that information readily available and sometimes it can be very time consuming have to find it on the internet. Just my two cents.

I absolutely love my kit, and the way my truck looks with it now installed! Installation was pretty easy. I did it in about 4. 5 to 5 hours in my garage by myself. The only issues I had / have with the kit was I was missing a few nuts, and I’m sure if I had said something I could have had them sent to me, but I just ran and picked up what I needed real quick.

The only other thing is, I wish it came with paper instructions. And yes, I could have printed them out if I had known, no big deal though. Like I said I love the kit, the quality it great! I’m super pleased about it!.

What another great lift by Rough Country. Just the look I was after. Rides better than factory. The key to this is to follow the instructions, loading the suspension before tightening upper control arm and lower shock bolts.

Otherwise you could introduce binding. It took me several hours to install as I was meticulous and took my time.

It looks well built, impressed, doubt if the springs will ever rust. At 63 and doing it alone it wasn’t too bad but I had all the tools I needed including a 3/4″Dr. breaker bar with a cheater pipe to get those 1&1/8″ bolts out.

rough. It looks great when all done. One thing I’m not crazy about is the alignment of the front shocks. You have to REALLY push the shaft inwards to get it into the mounting hole big time. The bottom of the shock is up against the new Radius arm limiting it.

I hope the shocks don’t wear out prematurely with the pressure on the shaft. Reason for 4 stars 1993 Ford Ranger 4. 0L 4×4 5sp.

Had to replace stock front springs as they were shot and bushings were gone. Wanted a bit of lift but not so much to affect steering geometry and driveshaft angles. Actual lift on my 85 K2500 was between 2.

5 and 3″ which was perfect for what i wanted. Looks fantastic on my old girl and rides like a dream compared to the worn out stock springs and shocks. Decals on front/rear shocks didn’t match, so i just left them off the rears.

Front brake line extension brackets were a joke, fortunately my were long enough thanks to a prior replacement. 1985 GMC Sierra Classic K2500.

Shipping was very fast and very reasonable from suspension connection. Absolutely the best deal I could find. After I had a front end collision, I had to replace my old lift kit and I chose this tuff country lift.

Seems to be a solid product for a good price. The instructions are good, but if your going to install this kit yourself, your going to want to have a good assortment of tools to make the job easy. The 8-10 hour installation is a bit underestimated once you add rust into the equation, and my truck is pretty dang clean underneath.

Lubricant is your friend. There were some minor paint blemishes that I had to touch up with undercoat. I’m assuming they had the parts hanging in a booth. I’ve been driving on salted roads and the finish seems to be holding up nicely though.

I bought the tuff country shocks with the kit and the ride quality is good. If your looking for a 4″ lift, my opinion is this is the best bang for you buck. 2003 GMC Sierra 1500HD SLT.

Installed on 2008 2500HD 4×4 extended cab, Kit is complete and no extra parts needed, handling and ride are excellent, truck drives like new. I replaced ball joints, tie rods, pittman and idler at same time.

The negative is there is quite a bit of grinding needed to install sub frame and some difficult drilling. If I had to do it again I would buy the multi piece sub frame instead of the single piece. However once you get through the hard part the kit works excellent.

I installed this by myself in the garage using only jack stands and floor jacks , no lift needed. Mostly done with hand tools and a zawzal for the mods. Ride only changed a little due to the shock stiffness.
