20 Best Chicken For Tacos (2022 Updated)

Flavor and color not the same. I used to remark that old El Paso had the same great flavor and never changed. Have been enjoying for 50 years, but will not repurchase now. The seasoning changed and the taco shells burn in an instant in the toaster oven.

First time in my life I didn’t enjoy taco night. My hubby was looking forward to the tacos, he’s going to hate them now. Even if you change back, how would you get the word out to your lost customers? Tastes like salt and red chili powder.

No flavor at all. A real loss.

I got both the original and the 25% Low Salt. Both easy to use & taste good; not spicy hot. The low salt one still tasted a bit too salty~guess thought it would be Alot less salty even though 25% less.

The only thing I would recommend is to change the directions: mix the package with warm water in a bowl or glass until it’s dissolved Before add the meat~less chance of getting lumps and less chance of clumps forming on the side or bottom of the frypan.

I would recommend this to others; infact already have to 3 couples!.

I’ve been using this mix for my family as long as I can remember, but no more. The manufacturer can deny all they want, but their recipe HAS changed. Grandkids won’t eat the tacos or enchiladas I make with this any more.

All my family members who cook agree and now use Taco Bell. You will lose a huge customer base Your new “original” recipe is soooo salty and the flavor is just not there anymore. I’m sure due to cutting corners.

Taco Bell is my go-to seasoning now. IF IT AIN’T BROKE, DON’T FIX IT! Very sad.

I’m obsessed with using this in my ground beef. I love that it’s a paste, it seems to make a huge difference in the decadence of the flavor. Definitely adds more moisture into the beef! I’ve tried making my ground beef without it and just using dry spices, but this makes a noticeable difference.

It’s a little pricey, but I look the other way because it’s worth it. My friends and family love when we have tacos or nachos for dinner because they know my ground beef will be there, they just don’t know my secret is store bought.

Try it, you’ll love it! My only tip is that since this is a paste, you’ll want to drain some of the oil out of the pan first so there isn’t too much oil/water content after adding this in.

I’ve been trying to locate gluten-free taco seasoning/sauce for 10 months now, and my search ended when I discovered the Frontera brand of products. This sauce is nothing short of outstanding, due to the blend of flavors and the texture.

I love that it calls for a bit of sautéed onion (I use shallots, onions create problem with digestion), and then you add the sauce. Since it is just for me, I use a portion of the packet and store the rest in fridge for another day (can use to flavor mini turkey/chicken meatballs — very flavorful).

The fact that product is preservative free and has a mild kick of chiles are added pluses. I don’t like very spicy foods. This has just the right amount. I am very happy to have found this product, and glad that I can purchase it at Vitacost (great price, especially when discounts are offered).

I highly recommend that you give yourself a treat and try this Frontera sauce, as well as other products in their line.

We just had this last night,simple and quick fix. There was four of us and there was left over tacos for today. Even the grandson talked about how good this was. Sometimes it’s hard to cook getting in late,but if you lay out the meat I to fridge and upon getting home.

As someone who loves food, I was excited to receive free samples to try out. We prepared all three samples on separate nights and enjoyed them as a family. The first sample we tried was the Grill Mates: Garlic, Herb & Wine Marinade mix.

The mix was used on pork, following the instructions on the package. What I found interesting is the fact that we all had a different opinion on the taste of the prepared meal. I, for one, did not even taste the marinade.

My mother liked the taste, while my husband thought it made the pork taste like meatloaf. I’m wondering what made our opinions range so differently. Regardless of the mixed reviews, I’d like to give it another try, perhaps on chicken and marinaded longer.

At this point though, we’ll go for 2. 5/5 stars for the marinade. The McCormick Taco Seasoning Mix is something we’ve actually used multiple times in the past. I had wondered if perhaps the “recipe” had changed since I’d last used it, but it tasted the same to me and the rest of the family.

We all liked it, would use again, and recommend to others. 5/5 stars for this mix. The final sample we tried was French’s Creamy Sweet Applewood Mustard Spread. I’m not a huge fan of mustard and usually use sparingly, but we made turkey subs and added a good amount of the spread.

It is SO good! I’m definitely adding this item to my future shopping list. It made my tastebuds sing. Everyone else in the household agreed. 5/5 stars for this sample and definitely going to recommend to others.

I appreciate that McCormick is offering this 30% Less Sodium Taco Seasoning Mix. It’s down about 60 mg. from the McCormick Original Taco Seasoning Mix. It still offers the same great flavor and convenience, but less sodium is always a plus to help my blood pressure & heart.

Lower sodium in this seasoning packet can pair nicely with lower sodium taco sauce, fat free cheese, etc. , to help make your entire taco experience a bit more healthy. I would purchase these McCormick 30% Less Sodium Taco Seasoning Mixes again as the taste is less salty, the packets are great to keep on hand for taco nights, they store well, they are convenient to use, they are priced reasonably, and they’re from the trusted McCormick brand.

The taco seasoning is sensational. Before trying this one I always assumed all taco seasoning packets were made equal, but I literally had to “eat” those words. This one is above & beyond. It’s more complex (definitely in a good way!) in spices and flavor, but not in an elite foodie way, it’s more of an authentic taste, if that makes sense.

It cooks up really evenly & smooth unlike others that seem difficult to cook down or dissolve, leaving lumps. You’re not limited to tacos when you use this seasoning! I like to mix it into hamburger meat before I make patties for fiesta burgers.

It’s also great used in Mexican beef & cheese dip.

I used the McCormick Street Taco Pork Carnitas Seasoning Mix with one pork tenderloin and a diced onion placed in a vacuum seal bag and cooked it in the Sous Vide for 12 hours at 155 degrees. When finished I pressed it in the bag to break it up which ended up with a pulled pork looking product.

I then spread it on a foil lined half cookie sheet and put it under the broiler high heat for about 10 minutes to brown it. Came out excellent. Will definitely get more of these packets.

Too spicy! The pork carnitas that I have made, and the ones I have order in numerous restaurants are not spicy. Thought I would skip the step of making my spice blend by using this packet. This mix was red with pepper.

Luckily I tasted it before using. Holy cow, it’s too spicy for us!.

This is THE BEST premade taco seasoning. Way better, less sweet, more flavorful than any competitor I’ve tried, especially McCormick’s (way too sweet). I’ve tried quite a few different brands because of difficulty finding Lawry’s in stores, and none of them compare.

If you are looking for a high quality, authentic tasting and healthy choice for frozen Taquitos – these aren’t for you. If you are looking for a quick, easy and tasty snack or meal- buy them! I really like these Delimex Chicken Cheese Flour Taquitos.

I usually always have a box in our freezer. We make a few at a time for a quick snack or I’ll make a whole box for dinner and have Mexican rice and chips and salsa on the side. Even the kids love these! They aren’t spicy at all so it’s good for kids or adults who don’t like spicy foods, but I dip them in a mixture of hot salsa and sour cream and it makes them even better! I only cook them in the oven and I usually cook them for 22-24 minutes because I like them a bit crispy.

My kids have made them in the microwave and are fine with them, but I would never make them in the microwave- I need that crunch! The air fryer will also work. I have tried the ones with corn tortillas instead of flour and I didn’t care for them.

I think the flour ones have a much better taste and texture. So if you need something for a quick snack or meal I highly suggest trying the Delimex Chicken and Cheese Flour Taquitos.

You aren’t eating them for their “healthy benefits”. In fact some of us may be having them for the complete opposite reason (Junk Food Day!!) I think they’re great for what they are. Good idea for game days.

I can see them as after school snacks or as I mentioned before- the all important Junk Food Day. I’ve only made them in a conventional oven. They’re crunchy and perfect for dipping. The filling isn’t terribly important to me with these.

It’s tastes fine.

I like getting these because they can be a quick, easy snack or appetizer in the microwave. I like putting them in the oven for a little crispness, but it takes a little bit longer of course. I dip these in salsa, hot sauce or queso.

I wish there was a little more filling on the inside edges like in the picture on the box. There’s a lot of tortilla comparatively to the contents on the inside. These taquitos have a better taste to other brands I have tried though.

Like the individually wrapped chicken breast. Great flavor.

These are the best chicken breasts we have ever eaten. Whether you put them in a casserole, grill them or stir fry them, they’re always delicious! We’ve tried many other brands but none of them compare to these.

These ones are so much better than the beef ones. The beef ones are always bland tasting and never have enough filling. These are very flavorful and are usually filled enough. Good for a quick snack or to make easy Flautas.

Best frozen Taquitos out there hands down. Great flavor and good filling! Great with Guacamole, sour cream, salsa and even nacho cheese. Product fine as is. Chicken with a bit of a kick and good flavor.

Yes I would buy again and like to take these camping! You can grill them they are great!.

Claims to be “shredded seasoned chicken.” It’s pate not shredded – could be chicken, could be beans, could be anything. And it’s completely bland.

I have a funny feeling those saying they are mushy didn’t cook them correctly. I tossed them in the air fryer but you could also put them in the over. The inside is soft (which you should expect) with the top part being a little crunchy.

These are soft shell corn tortillas so I don’t know what some people expect. I really enjoyed them.

I have seen 2 types of complaints so far. One being there’s barely anything in the tacos and 2 they don’t like the corn salsa flavor. Well, these are MINI tacos so what do you expect?! They of course don’t have a ton of filling in them but they taste amazing! There’s only about 1 or 2 pieces of corn in each taco so those complaining about it must really hate corn.

I eat these with avocado or sour cream. My favorite is with sour cream and they are great. I’d buy these again and again.

These have been a family staple for the longest time. All of my children love them. They’re not overly flavorful, but good enough that we love them. They’re not overly spicy, either, just after you eat a few, you might taste the spice.

I make them in my air fryer, 400F for 7 minutes. You may or may not have to flip them depending upon which air fryer you have. I had to flip them with my last air fryer that I pull out like a drawer, but I do not have to with my Emeril air fryer that has a chicken wire-like basket.

We’ve had this several times now (5 tacos each as there’s only 2 of us!) Don’t judge! I spread some sour cream and guacamole inside the tacos and stuff a combo of the seasoned meat, grated cheese, lettuce and chopped baby plum tomatoes inside, then top with the salsa.

Everytime we’ve been delighted with the meal. Full of flavour and a nice change from the norm. The last time we got them, 6 of the taco shells we’re broken, but we got over it and used our initiative and just topped them with the meat and other bits and bobs and ate them like you would a poppadom.

Simple. It all goes down the same way! That’s the only time we’ve ever received it damaged but that is due to the way its been handled and/or packed and does change the fact that it’s delicious, so still a firm 5 stars from us.

Simple, easy kit to use. Tastes nice and is a family meal pleaser. I do only buy when on offer as when at full price I feel they are not great value for money as you buy more ingredients separately than the box contains.

So I bought these to change up the usual dinners. Easy to make, no bother at all and quite tasty. However, You better book a couple days off work because you’re signing yourself up for an fiery experience, not just a fine dinner.

They’ve really done the Mexicans proud, once these badboys land the next day you better hold on tight. Between 8:30am and 12:30pm I’ve made 4 trips to the bathroom and it isn’t showing signs of stopping yet.

Still good though, especially if you get them during the deals. 4 out of 5 stars, minus 1 for the trauma I’m experiencing.

These are delicious, full of Buffalo Chicken Spice/flavor, tender, and ALL white meat! We are addicted. In fact, these are now my “go to” chicken dinner. I cook these in my Air Fryer (directions for re-heating in your Air Fryer or MicroWave are on the package) for a total of about 24 mins, and serve it with an bag of assorted Romaine Lettuce, and low fat Ranch, Blue Cheese, or Italian dressing and it tastes like a Buffalo Chicken salad from a restaurant! Delicious BUT SPICY! In fact, these are numbered on the package as a “2” between Mild & Hot/Spicy and honestly, these taste more like the 3.

VERY spicy and hot but delicious all the same. I tame it with salad dressing and it does the job.

I had high hopes for these. They looked really nice frozen and even coming out of the air fryer. However eating them reveals the terrible chicken inside. Grisly, chewy and basically inedible. The coating was decent however.

Why can these companies not put out a piece of chicken that is edible? One of the patties had this weird gelatinous goo inside of it. It would move around but not drip. I almost vomited.

I’m not typically inclined to review a grocery item, but these are good enough to motivate me. I was hesitant to purchase them, but when I saw the air fryer instructions I figured it was worth a shot.

I was concerned that they would be some sort of processed patty; they are not. These are full chicken breasts, just flattened out to cook evenly. If you’ve ever made your own fried chicken breasts like this at home, you are likely familiar with this, so not a big deal.

The taste is very much like a Wendy’s spicy chicken sandwich, maybe a little bit spicier. If you have little kids it might be too much for them, but if you like a good spicy chicken sandwich, this is an excellent option.

There are 8 chicken breasts in a bag, so these really are an excellent value.

This was pretty good! A great flavor and I loved the creamy tomatillo-cilantro sauce. I thought it was cool that it seems to be in a biodegradable bowl. I picked this up at Town Talk and it was less expensive than at regular stores (it’s a close out market) and it wasn’t expired so for 1.

99 I had to get several. Definitely a great meal to take to work and eat for lunch.

These are absolutely fantastic. The first time that I tried them I just ate them out of the bowl I didn’t even use a tortilla. They are that good. The only way that I can think of that maybe they give me a little bit better is if you made it a meal by serving it for dinner and either a burrito form or tacos.

Definitely worth you guys checking this out you won’t be disappointed.

Delicious, savory, quick versatile meal! Decent portion size. The biodegradable bowl kept the chicken perfectly steamed and not dry. Flavors from chicken; green, yellow, and red bell pepper; rice and black beans were balanced and delicious.

Exceptional price. Hopefully, they will still have it in stock–they have been flying off the shelf at Sam’s Club, where the initial purchase was made. So yum!.

This is my go-to quick dish for my meal preps and even for a quick dinner when I get home from work. I use it for green salads, chicken salads, tacos, soups and so much more! The taste is amazing and it truly helps a lot for meal prepping.

Love the shredded chicken. Easy to prepare. They are so flavorful. My go to is making flautas with the shredded chicken.

I’ve tried to like this product, I’ve purchased several times and always regret it. I will not be buying in the future. I believe it was fairly okay at one point years back, when they first took away the one I was purchasing that came in the purple bag.

It was Teriyaki flavored & I always made sure to look for the purple bag b/c it was not rubbery like most of these pre-cooked chicken breast products. I thought it was MM brand, but maybe it Tyson, not positive.

In any event I remember being so disappointed when I never could find any longer at Sams. I usually like Member’s Mark products, this one is a big failure. Which is a shame b/c I enjoyed the convenience of using them in the past for all sorts of dishes.

But this chicken is really just awful, no way around it, it’s very rubbery, & can be fatty around the edges. I think they are quick cooking the raw chicken too quickly before the freezing process. Just seems like meat that’s been cooked too fast at high temps.

I’ve tried slow cooking on lower watts in microwave, I’ve tried cooking in convection; I’ve done everything possible to heat this precooked chicken to try and make it not be rubbery or taste under cooked but to no avail.

Don’t waste your money on this one!.

Well All odds I thought were against me. I don’t cook, I’m over 300 lbs, I’m on Weight Watchers (with a strict point system) and I have a low paying job. I also don’t usually like white meat chicken.

Lucky when my mother was alive she introduced me to liquid smoke otherwise known as Mesquite. I haven’t had Mesquite in 20 years. The other day I was in Sams in Daytona looking for zero point food and I came across Mesquite Grilled Chicken Breast, I remembered in New York I loved Mesquite, but since i live in the south now a lot of people like smoked products like smoked ham, smoked turkey etc and I don’t.

I was afraid to buy this product especially on my income. Well I took the risk and bought this product. It said I can microwave it. I did and I wasn’t expecting much, but afterwards I took it out it was Delicious !! Because of the seasoning on Weight Watchers per serving it;s only 1 point, and it’s filling I usually have 8 oz.

(2 pieces. ) It’s about $4. 00 a pound but it’s precooked and great! At work I just let it defrost on my desk and when I get hungry I grab a small piece and if I can make it to lunch I heat it up in the Microwave.

I truly love this product Thank you Sams Club you have made my diet a lot easier and i’m much happier camper now!.

This has been our favorite frozen chicken breast for years. But recently the chicken has no grilled look, has a very strange taste to it, even has gristle in it, and the bottom of the chicken breast has a funky slime coating on some pieces (you would have to see it to understand).

The last bag we bought had an entire piece of chicken that was pure fat/gristle. I tried to upload a picture but kept getting an error. In the past the plastic container had a clear section so you could see the contents of the chicken.

Now they took that away and you can’t see the chicken breasts thru the container. Maybe they don’t want consumers to see the chicken before purchasing? Anyway, I hope Members Mark is reading this. Please bring back the good chicken you had in previous years.

I don’t plan to buy this any more until they improve their product. With the Members Mark guarantee on the bag I plan on returning it the next visit to Sams for a refund, and I would recommend you do the same if you are dissatisfied with the quality of the chicken.

The product does not come seasoned which gives you the freedom of different applications for the meat as well as being able to flavor to personal taste. Its quick and easy to heat, comes out nicely juicy, yet because of the reheat there is a little extra chew to the meat.

All around though pretty good chicken.
