20 Best Child Gps Tracker (2022 Updated)

I have version 7. 0. One would think that the browser based user experience (UX) would be at a much higher level and EVERY option clicked would actually work without producing an error. The street view doesn’t work.

The zoom level on the platforms Google map prohibits 15 zoom levels (you can only zoom to a 1-mile viewport on a standard 1080p monitor). The UX is simply awful. Completely non-intuitive. Don’t get me started on the Android mobile app.

It’s HORRIBLE! I used the web app 8 years ago. It’s nearly the same. It sucked then and it sucks now. Tech support takes 3 times to answer basic questions. With the longevity that this company has, it must be broke to not be able to afford better software and better service.

Hey CEO, raise your prices so you can hire better software developers and provide better service! We don’t want cheap, we want solid, good software and good support. The hardware seems good enough, that I’d pay nearly double for it in order to have better software, but the most import thing to solve is the crappy zoom level limits on your Google map.

Great product and as advertised. The battery life may or may not be as much as advertised but is most sufficient for my application. Lots of complaints in other reviews about battery life that I don’t understand for the most part.

I use my tracker for a kayak that I keep on a trailer and like using the Nano when traveling and with the kayak sitting on a trailer and the concern of being stolen. I charge my Nano frequently because it is possible and I want the most charge if the tracking need ever arises.

I look forward to the iPhone and iPad apps being more capable and that is my only dissatisfaction. This unit is also small and that might be the compromise in a shorter battery life. There are a couple of variables that enter into the amount of battery being used, this battery is most sufficient for me.

I get instant text messages and e-mails when my geofence is violated with an exit, very reliable. The phone support I got to help with the instructions and “how to” was much better during the week for some reason than when I made a call or two on a weekend.

The development of a geofence was quite easy.

I love this tracker! I am not good with technology but even I set it up and put it on my daughter’s car by myself. It even told me when she was speeding, naughty new driver! Now I will know where she is at all times! Everyone should get one for their teenage drivers or for a suspicious acting husbam, ha ha!.

I love this thing. Highly recommend for anyone who’s like me and just feels better the more I know. To try it out, we took it on a road trip. The accuracy and battery life was incredible. Now, we have it in my elderly MIL’s car to help keep a better eye.

A very good tracker to track cars. It is small & portable The device is very easy simple to set up and the website to track is also very easy navigate. The iPhone app is also very handy. The users get a lot of data pertaining to location, speed, & fuel usage.

It also has paid services like road side assistance. Would be very useful for tracking fleet vehicles (commercial or otherwise).

Poor quality and bad service. did not work at all first two days. Tried one more time before returning, it worked for about 40 minutes. now it’s stuck won’t update. Complete Made in China junk. Ashame.

The Spacetalk Adventure smart watch is a large, robust watch with a few nice tricks that allows parents to keep in touch with and track the location of their kids, but it might not be great for all families.

In my family’s time using the watch, I found some joys and some frustrations. I think it’ll be good for school, but so far we haven’t been loving it for summer. Pros: • Location tracking is easy and useful • Phone calls are very simple and easy • Step tracking gets the kid moving • Spacetalk customer service is very helpful and provides assistance setting up and using the phone • School mode allows parents to block some or all functions to allow the kid to focus • Geofencing allows parents to get notifications if their kid leaves a defined area Cons: • The watch is very large, and the band fits my large adult wrist • The band is difficult for a kid to latch themselves • Setup is kind of a long process, and the watch can’t be used on a typical inexpensive “watch” line; only the more expensive phone+data line • Doesn’t work on Verizon (not a problem for me specifically, but important to know) • No way to set gender neutral pronouns; the app allows “male,” “female,” or “unspecified” • Whether or not gender is set in the app, all notifications include something like “Xxxxx has shared his/her location” which is not only inaccurate but also awfully binary • No way to lock the screen manually (power button is on the back of the watch body); after 15 seconds the screen dims, and 5 seconds later it locks by itself • No way to exit the fitness tracking screen unless you wait for the 20-second timeout.

• No way for the kid to set contact photos Let’s cover our experience with the watch: Upon first opening the package, I noticed how big the watch is. My kid doesn’t say they mind the size very much, but I think there might be some subconscious bias about that, because they haven’t been wearing the watch every day.

The setup process was fairly long and involved with the included JumpySIM. I used the Spacetalk customer service hotline to guide me through the setup process, and I found the customer service agent friendly and thorough.

It was through this process that I learned I can’t just set the watch up on a $5/month watch-specific plan from my main carrier, T-Mobile, but would have to add a phone line. This is not ideal for my situation as a new Magenta Max line would cost quite a bit.

I might stick with JumpySIM or find some other service that offers decent coverage for less than $18/month. My next frustration was with adding me kid’s information to the watch. My kid is non-binary, and I was sad to see that the app allows only “male,” “female,” or “unspecified” as the gender options.

In addition to that, all notification’s about the kid’s activity include the phrase “his/her,” as in “Chris has shared his/her location with you. ” That’s awfully binary. I think something should be done to allow for gender neutral identities and custom pronouns in the app and notifications for those who want that option.

As I mentioned in the intro, we haven’t been loving the watch for summer, but maybe it’s our particular situation. My kid is regularly active, and they like using the step tracking function as a way to gamify that activity, but in general, they get kind of bored with it and haven’t been wearing it every day.

They stick close to home and haven’t been in any summer camps, so maybe that’s why we haven’t been pushing its use too much. I think when school starts, we’ll get more use out of it. I like that we have the option of disabling all apps or allowing specific ones to be accessed, and I like that we’ll be able to get stay in touch with our kid during and after school if necessary.

They’ll be looking after a littler sibling after school this year, so location tracking, easy phone calls, and geofencing will be very helpful.

The Spacetalk Adventurer 4G Kids Smart Watch Phone and GPS is a neat device especially for my 8 and 10 year old, they like it besides the lack of apps or games you can use on it, which is ok with myself and my wife.

The setup was easy, we chose to use the service they recommended and setup took about 30 minutes total. My 8 year old is tiny, so we have to put it on her upper arm and my 10 year old said it feels a little bulky but not too bad.

They do love the way they can easily call my wife and I and we used it a lot at the race track this past weekend to easily find them around the pits. This was probably the absolute best feature or reason for owning one, quick and easy to find your kid when they are bopping around to other kids race trailers and campers, especially when there are thousands of people around.

Yes, that sounds crazy, but guess what, ATV racing is all family, but now we just have easier access to finding them quickly. The apps are limited, I would love to have the ability to link this with Live 360 so I can have all my kids on one map as I have 4 daughters.

I do not think this would be a hard request to add with Spacetalk, hopefully it is added at some point to make the watch that much more useful. We had to add the service that enabled features, I should have looked into that first, was not expecting more charges to utilize basic features of the smart watch as my other smart watches do not need this.

I think this is a HUGE negative compared to just buying another name brand and just having the cell service added. Overall, the watch does what we need, is very useful, customer service is great and setup was easy, I could have easily did it without calling Spacetalk, but for non-techy people, the Spacetalk rep we delt with was super nice and easy to talk to, he also agreed with the Life 360 integration, he said it should be an option to use if you are already paying for the service.

I like the app and is easy to use but having all on one map would be so much simpler for big families like mine. For the price, it is a great device, just needs some polishing with what is available and what integrations could help further their success into this market.

The device has a very strong magnet and a rubber to seal off charging port making it water/splash proof when you attach the device to the outside of a moving vehicle. The downside is that it provides real time data and very limited historic data.

The historic data does not have a time stamp on the point. So you know the ‘where’ but the ‘when’ when looking back a day is unclear. Took stars off for that. If they update it, and the history is time stamped, I will revise my review.

Another feature I like is the Fence. When the device is stationary, you can put a fence around it and when the device leaves the fence, you get notified. Lights can be turned on and off to be more discreet.

I gave only 3 stars because while it does give the correct street name, still the number address is always WAY OFF. like, you can be parked INSIDE the house and it still says you’re like 5 or 6 houses down.

but most importantly, the BATTERY DOES NOT LAST AT ALL! I got this for my boyfriends car and am doing it discreetly but its EXTREMELY DIFFICULT WHEN I KEEP. ON. HAVING TO GO BACK N RETRIEVE IT AND CHARGE IT! ITS INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING.

ALSO, WHEN HES HOME ID LIKE TO SWITCH IT TO EVERY 4 OR 6 HOURS BUT WHEN U SWITCH IT BACK TO EVERY MINUTE- IT STILL HAS TO WAIT 6 MORE HOURS FROM THE TIME U SWITCH IT!.

At first I must admit I was skeptical!. I’ve purchased so-called trackers several times before. However, after the initial setup, which was easy and I do mean VERY easy (I’m no tech Guy, So If I Can Do It ANYONE Can Do It) once I was done it connected IMMEDIATELY with pinpoint accuracy!!! I was shocked and blown away! and very impressed! But of course being the skeptic that I am / WAS, I had to take it for a “test drive”.

And once again, shot and amazed I actually found something that REALLY works!!! I WILL be buying a FEW MORE for the several vehicles of the family! Thank you LandAirSea, I am a HAPPY CUSTOMER!.

I bought this for my son’s birthday last year. Display is VERY dark, I can’t read it. We bought it in store but assistant wouldn’t take one out to show us and couldn’t show us a working one. He was also unable to tell us anything about it so all we had to go on was what we’d read on the website ourselves.

If I’d seen the display I wouldn’t have purchased. Basic functions like an alarm have to be set up via app rather than on the watch. We’ve had issues with the actual device coming out of the strap which has made for some rather frantic searching in the grass at parks and in the classroom at school.

The keeper on the strap broke early on and we’ve been using a rubber band. And now, one year after buying it, it’s stopped working. Not sure if it’s the battery or just stopped. We’ve been very disappointed and we’re now researching alternatives for Christmas this year.

Got this to replace my sons fitbit, sick of their battery issues. The vivofit jr 3 seemed perfect, games, 1 year battery with no charging, the ability to set tasks and chores for him. Got it in the mail today, very disappointed with the fact that the screen wont stay backlit.

That’s probably the biggest drawback. The screen doesn’t appear to be touch screen, which is just awkward. I was also really disappointed with the photos of chemical type burns on children’s arms in the Amazon reviews from the band that comes with the tracker, thats one reason I cant stand Fitbit.

So we had to order a whole new band for it. Overall I’m not impressed, time will tell whether I completely regret buying this or not.

My 8 year old figured this thing out in 10 minutes (I had to read the manual). My 5 year old can navigate the main menu really easily but needs help with starting timers or the stopwatch. It’s very kid friendly and the app is very parent friendly.

I assigned chores for them to do everyday and they get such satisfaction hearing the coins make sounds when I check off the chore. I was afraid I’d have to sync the watch each time they completed a chore but since it’s Bluetooth it syncs automatically when it’s within range of my phone.

Having the ability to create rewards tied to the chores is nice too. The fact that chores and rewards have prepopulated options and the ability to create your own is really nice too. My oldest has ADHD and has a hard time staying on track but she loves seeing her chores with how many she has completed and how many she has total.

It has actually helped keep her more focused. Overall I’m very happy with this and my kids love it. It’s nice that they can keep it on 24/7 without worrying about charging or getting wet is nice. After a year I’ll have to change the battery but it’s a really common button battery that I already have at home so it’s no big deal.

For this price buy it!.

I picked this up for my 9 year old. The watch is great and had an interactive game that opens up levels for them the more they walk. The app also has incentives and awards for kids too. You can set chores and goals for them.

Another huge bonus is its waterproof. My kid could go swimming in it and everything. The only problem with this watch is the battery will eventually die at which point I believe you have to replace the watch.

For that reason I recommend NOT getting it used. My experience was dubious in the buying process so make sure you’re getting a new one. But overall, it’s a great kids watch and durable.

We purchased with VivoFit Jr 2 to help with tracking our 5 year old daughters activies as well as incentivise good habits. So far it has been helpi g alot with the tasks abilities theough the fitjr app allowing us to set task for her to achieve and to bring some fun an reward into creating everyday good habits like making a bed, brushing teeth, packing up room etc.

Overall a very handy well priced little watched when on sale. The only negative is it doesnt track the heart rate all day and the minimal price different to the Jr 3 makes it more attractive but the atores were sold out.

All in all we are still very happy with the Garming Vivofit Jr 2.

Pros: Bought as a 6th birthday present for my son. He’s had it 2 weeks now and is still motivated to complete his step count, activity minutes and earn coins for doing chores. I had thought it might wear off after the initial excitement (17000 steps clocked on his birthday, mostly from running around the kitchen table!) but it seems to still motivate.

Nice rugged device with a simple interface. I didn’t want the vívofit jr 3 as I didn’t want the games on it and also, I prefer him to tell the time on his analogue watch. This was just what we were after.

Cons: The reward game on the app is ok. Not sure it adds much to the package as I think it will have limited appeal over time.

Great product – I received my device earlier than expected. The activation process took less than 5 minutes. I’m currently tracking my teen since he got his license and let me tell you that your tracker has not failed me once.

The best feature is being alerted when he exits the geofence. I was able to monitor exactly where he was going. Worried mom’s mind totally at ease. Best purchase EVER!!!!!.

Six months ago we purchased three TickTalk 4 watches for our three oldest children. In that time we have learned that these are the best options on the market for our family and, in my opinion, for most.

If your goal is to have a customizable, kid-friendly, GPS-enabled, multiple network, safe means by which to allow your child to communicate with you and a few other, trusted individuals, this is what you want.

This is the most cost-effective, reliable device that fit all of our needs. Our eldest child has behavioral health diagnoses that necessitate that we have a way to track her when she is not at home. Our #2 relies on the ability to reach out to both us parents and his grandparents who don’t live nearby whether it’s out of need or simply to say “hello”.

Our #3 is just old enough to leave the house on her own for a bit, but she’s still not mature enough for my husband & me to be comfortable with her going places without a direct, immediate line of contact.

These TickTalk watches enable peace of mind for parents, freedom of movement for children, and generally increased communication with extended family. When you spend this much money on a device that’s ultimately at the mercy of your elementary schooler, you want it to be durable.

While this one isn’t fully waterproof, it is definitely water resistant enough to last the average hydro-centric incidents like forgetting to be taken off in the shower, washing hands, rinsing out dishes, playing in the hose, etc.

While the TickTalk 4 has not proven to be the most resilient in actual crash testing, this has given them the opportunity to witness first-hand their great customer service and excellent company policies.

About a month ago my third kiddo dropped her watch (she doesn’t remember how, of course), and the case & screen cracked: rendering it useless. I contacted customer service via Facebook and received a rather prompt & detailed respond that fixed the problem in a very reasonable, customer-friendly manner– even though the damage caused to her watch disqualified the warranty.

All in all, this is a solid, 4/5 piece of equipment. To get all five stars I would expect the watch to handle a bit more wear & tear without busting as well as it to be waterproof. But there is no better comparable option on the market today in my book.

And that’s coming from a mom of six kids, so you know I know a thing or two about products worth buying. ;).

We were very excited about this watch. We wanted a way for our 10 year old to be able to communicate with us when she’s not with us and this seemed like the perfect device. It arrived quickly and packaged securely.

It seemed very durable as well! I felt very confident that it could take the beating that a 10 year old would put it through. The face talk and calls came through extremely clear and the accuracy of the GPS was very reliable.

I thought having the iheart Radio feature would satisfy that desire to have a little something extra on the watch besides just calling and texting. At first glance I was worried about the channels offered as I thought they might be too kid-friendly, but after listening to a few of them, I was relieved to find that they played today’s current pop and dance hits that you would hear on the radio.

Setting up the app was super easy and the controls offered satisfied my needs as a parent. Now for the disappointing part. My daughter is very sensory sensitive and so the bulky size of the watch was what turned her off.

Especially since she’s never even worn a watch before. I would recommend if your child is not accustomed to wearing one, to at least start with that, and then maybe they would ease into the size of the Ticktalk 4 better.

But she just could not get over it and it was very uncomfortable for her. And I needed her to love it so she would want to wear it everywhere she goes and this was not the case. Also, when it came time to add her contacts, everyone I tried to add was very apprehensive about adding another app to their phone in order to communicate with her.

(You know how grandparents can be about the unknown) And I needed her to be able to communicate with her coaches too and I definitely did not feel comfortable asking them to download the app and communicate with her separately.

So for some, this may be the perfect fit. For us it was not and I couldn’t be more bummed because we are not ready for her to have a phone with access to ALL social media, but yet we need her to be able to use a handful of some aspects of it.

So I guess it’s back to the drawing board. I will continue to follow Ticktalk’s product development in hopes that they can come up with something less bulky and a little more universally user friendly.

I will update my review again if I have any problems with our return.

After trying a couple different options we have settled on the Tick Talk 4 watch to best meet the needs of our family. Before deciding, we tested the features on the Verizon gizmo, the Tmobile Sync Up, and the Tick Talk 4.

While all three of these options offer GPS Tracking, text messaging, and other features, Tick talk 4 one upped the game by offering listen in, no games on the device, controls that were able to only be altered by the parent account, and the best service coverage overall.

My daughter attends camp in the Texas hill country 2+ hours away and I am able to still accurately view her GPS location and connect to her watch. The battery has lasted 3 days so far with limited GPS location request, listening in, and text messaging.

I love that this watch gives me the connection to my kid without the annoyance of a phone. I want that security but none of the screen addiction of the phone (tik tok, social media, mindless games, etc) and this gives me just that.

The only thing that I would change is the appearance of the watch (it is rather bulky, think 60 year old man “sports” watch) and the feature of only people within the app being able to text her. However, I do love that if I do want to give someone “authority” to text her that within the app when they request to be added to her account I can select the features they are permitted to use.

My husband and I both have full access to change settings and track location while my mom on the other hand has text and call privileges only. I had a hard time springing for the Tick Talk 4 because the other two I tried were offered at no cost with a device line as a promotion but in the end I’m glad I invested the extra cost and now we are going to order one for my other daughter.

We bought this space watch after being disappointed with another kids tracker watch due to that products customer service & lack of info about the product updates needed/how it works info etc. The space watch is good at calling out (as my daughter has practiced more than required!) and the volume on the watch is just about ok for conversations but it could really do with one or two more noise level increases to make it easier to hear in busy situations, especially for the incoming calling alert sound.

I like that the contacts list can have pictures alongside the names of the contacts (these show in the watch screen) to make it easier for younger kids to find who they want to call. The SOS calling button is a bit under developed I feel, as it can be easily pressed when trying to do other things on the screen.

It would have been better if it was something that didn’t go off accidentally so easily, maybe a button you have to press in on the side of the watch would be an improvement? The SOS option will call a set list of contacts until someone answers but I’m not sure if it will stop calling out if it goes to an answerphone if it deems that answered? The tracking function seems accurate so far but it could be improved by reducing the safe zone to less than 140m diameter from the safe point you program in to the app.

The app is easy enough to use and the customer service is really good, they’ve answered the phone pretty quickly whenever I’ve called. The watch itself is quite chunky and there are a lot of app options in the watch for the wearer to use, which I feel is a couple too many for the main functions of the watch.

Because if the amount of ‘stuff’ they’ve put in to the watch it does mean the writing is quite small and pressing the right area on the watch can be fiddly. The messaging function has programmable preset words or sentences you can pick from or you can write your own with a querty keyboard – this is split though so switching between two screens to complete a sentence is too much to bother with normally.

I only bought this because the previous one I bought didn’t have a reliable customer service and wasn’t as user friendly for understanding how to make it work safely and more reliably. I feel the price of the space watch is too high for the user experience but it’s the better option at the present time so I just felt I had to suck it up.

I hope improvements are made but the main function this watch serves me is to help keep track of my daughter in events situations and summer clubs where I’m not always with her.

I love the Spacetalk. I think it’s perfect for kids in year 6 who want to start getting a bit of independence, maybe walking some/all of the way to school or to a friend’s house. It’s totally secure and when you ring them, they are far more likely to answer a watch on their wrist than a muffled vibrate at the bottom of a bag.

Once you give a child a phone, it’s almost impossible to take it away again so I think the spacetalk bridges that gap between ages 10-13 where children need a phone to text/call their parents to get picked up but don’t need access to social media when they’re out and about.

My year 8 daughter has been wearing one for about a month now. The school mode is really good as it lets you add lots of sessions, better than Apple downtime which only has one start and finish time each day.

Our spacetalk is disabled during lessons but enabled at break and lunch in case our daughter needs to get a message to us. The reason I’ve only given 4 stars instead of 5 is because the battery life isn’t great and the actual charging mechanism is a bit dodgy, sometimes it isn’t in the cradle properly, although it appears to be and therefore it isn’t fully charged in the morning and dies during the day.

But overall I’d still highly recommend the spacetalk to anyone who doesn’t want to give their child a phone, and all that comes with it, yet.

We’re very happy with our Spacetalk Adventurer. It does what we want, which is enable my 10-year old to keep in contact with us. That’s handy for afterschool pick-ups, as well as generally out and about on weekends.

We use the School Mode and have it set up so that most of the watch features are not active during school hours but come on at 3pm. We also don’t allow calls or messages from other than pre-approved numbers (so no scammers, market research, etc).

We’re happy that it doesn’t do social media and doesn’t have any attractive games. The battery life is perfectly fine, -we just need to make sure we charge it each night. It’s easy to read text messages, but a bit hard to write them on such a small watch face, so my child tends to record short voice recordings and send those instead.

Unfortunately, this is the second Spacetalk Adventurer I have purchased within one year since I overestimated the ‘water resistance’ of the first watch. I had understood that it would be fine to wear while swimming, but this was wrong and the watch was destroyed.

So don’t make that mistake. Nonetheless, the fact that I went out and purchased the same watch again must say something about how much we like it otherwise.

We just started letting our young son ride around the block to the park and got him this watch for several reasons. GPS! Huge draw, works pretty well with with pinpointing his location. all I know I can see if he leaves the park! It has a bunch of cool features for parents/guardians to know where your child is.

It syncs with my phone, it’s got some fun sounds and ringtones to choose from, I can monitor his calls, load the contacts we want him to have so he can only call designated numbers, etc.

If you’re looking for a fantastic gift for a kid who doesn’t really play with toys, look no further! I purchased this for my 8yr old grandson. I was in a bind trying to find a great Xmas present for this boy of mine.

I did lots of online research and watched tons of reviews for this watch and decided to give it a shot. My grandson LOVES it! He has his choice of gaming, photography, sound effects, voice changer and MORE! This is great, and although it doesnt have access to the Internet directly, a quick plug in to a tablet or desk/laptop and you can download more games.

and transfer your pics and vids to that device, as needed. This also helps kids learn how to tell time and use the calculator app to improve math skills. Buy this and you AND your child will be so happy!.

It is a great watch for kids. My daughter loves it and wears it all the time. We love all the functionality that this watch offers. Our favorite is GPS, I like how it allows us to setup safety locations.

My daughter enjoys getting to take photos with her new watch. She also likes knowing how many steps she has, since our family regularly has step challenges. I like how she can text me from the watch, so I know it is time to pick her up from her activities.

My 6 year old son loves his watch. He wears it most the day. The battery life is good. He loves to look at what time it is and take pictures. As a parent I like the GPS Feature. I’d recommend!

I got this watch for my then 6 year old son last January (2021). I was very happy with it until recently. It motivated my son to move more, do more exercise and encouraged him to do some household chores and become more independent.

He got a sense for saving up virtual coins to get a new toy or book and to work for it. The adventures offered in the app was captivating enough for him, but 9 months in we reached the end of the adventures and it started from the beginning.

At this point he has lost interest in. To get a new set of adventures I’d have to buy a new band (strap) in red or black which would unlock the Avengers adventures. A new band costs 40 euro including delivery and VAT.

But the main problem is that the watch stopped working. It started with the watch not keeping the time and then the battery died, so we changed the battery to the recommended one. However after a few days the time kept lagging behind again and when that happens the watch doesn’t count steps or measures the sleep.

I changed the battery again (both were high quality branded batteries), but after a week the same happened. I tried a few troubleshooting steps that I found online, but it just got worse to a point that the watch is now rendered completely useless.

I’ve been in touch with Garmin support for 2 weeks, sent them a few details, but so far I’m none the wiser. While researching online about this issue I realised I’m not the only one facing it.

This is the second VivoFit JR3 we have purchased from Rebel Sport. We purchased the first for my eldest son’s 6th birthday. Now it’s time to repeat the process for our younger son’s birthday. We have had great success using the step counter and marvel game rewards to get the kids out and about, whether swimming, walking or riding, they love checking in afterwards to see how many steps have taken.

Also worth noting that we had a fault with the first watch and I called Garmin directly. They were incredible and replaced the watch straight away. Very impressed, that why we purchased another for our other child.

problem is that even with the setting of sending location at high frequency i do not get updates every 2 to 3 minutes. It does not give clear points of location – not great for kids backpack as sometimes the location is a bit off and not accurate.

battery does hold for very long though. It is ok for items like car, bags, etc.

Great idea, love the months of battery life. Hate that sometimes it hangs, and might not show the motion for a whole day. The issue was coming erratically, and I hope it is will be fixed with the software updates.

Not waterproof, so it’s a good idea to put it into a small plastic bag right away.

It is not a real time tracker unless you are within bluetooth range which makes it pointless. 1 star rating

What’s cool is you can program the watch as for my boys to “go pee” every two hours. Watch beeps and says go pee with bathroom background. Has other chores and things like homework or brush your teeth with a toothbrush background as well.

They can get reward coins that you can set and a spider-man game for them to play as well. It’s a simple game nothing to complicated for young ones. Has the basic fitness tracking along with time and calender.

You can type in your chore or whatever or choose the pre programed options. Your personnel chore wording should be short so it fits on the watch space such as “Go Pee”. Cool product bought two of them at a discount price during Christmas 2021.

Boys love them except “go pee” but it works. If you reward them with coins then give them some sort of time with a kindle or nintendo switch to reward them with however many coins you decide is the right amout for a particular reward.

So 150 coins gets them t. v. time a favorite food. Endless what you can do with this to motivate them. This does not charge it’s a battery and it’s already to go when it arrives. When the battery dies you can replace it.

I think it said it last a year + maybe longer depending on usage.

I spent about a year trying to make the Spot Trace work as an anti-theft device on my 40 foot sailboat. Granted, the device is easy to set up and install – I installed it close to the engine and got it with the 12 volt cable so I could hook it up to the boat and not worry about changing the batteries.

Unfortunately the Spot Trace does not detect movement very well, not to say at all. I have sailed for days without this thing tracking. I’ve had things fall on the floor in the cabin and people get seasick without the Spot noticing movement and I’ve motored for hours without the device tracking.

I’ve even brought it to shore in my pocket on shopping trips. No tracking. I could make it track by turning it off and back on after I started sailing, but I’m afraid even the most considerate pirate would not be that helpful.

The Spot support crew have tried different solutions. They replaced the device itself, we tried installing different versions of the firmware, we tried installing a special super-sensitive vibration sensing firmware tweak, but nothing could help it detect movement and start tracking unless I REALLY shook the device around.

After almost a year a nice lady in support took pity on me and went off script: “Well, we’ve had some problems with this device on sailboats”. Thank you, that is very helpful to know instead of just letting me waste my time for a year.

I wanted my money back since the device does not work as advertised but Spot argued that the device actually tracked from time to time, so they wouldn’t make a refund. I argued that it was like having a house alarm with a movement sensor that only detected Halloween Parties and claiming that it worked.

They said they’d refund me $50 as a good-faith gesture. The money never showed up on my card though and this is pretty typical for the Spot support experience. They are happy to suggest solutions while on the phone but once the call is over I will have to call them back about any promises they made.

for instance, it took 3 or 4 calls over a month or so to push them through the process of sending me a replacement device. The Spot Trace might work in a car or a trailer, or on a high-speed water craft, but personally I wouldn’t trust it to and since Spot support seems to consider the device more of a toy than a safety device, I would look for a company with a more professional approach.

Easy to setup Don’t forget to check for updates like your phone when you buy an unit I called support because I was not able to get it going and did the updates with support: knowledgeable and friendly.

Bought it because of « boat motion » option. Tested it last weekend by actually taking the unit in my hand walk away from boat with and got email notice. What’s left to test: longevity of batteries and how it reacts when it’s cold.

My grandson is ecstatic with his Garman watch. He has so many functions he is enjoying. He told me it is a life changer for him. He is doing many chores now and gets points which he records on his Garman watch.

Hes very careful to protect it though he insists it is extremely durable. I dont think hes ever been as happy with anything Ive ever given him before. Many many thanks.

I went against all the negative reviews and purchased this vivofit jr for my son for Christmas. Not even 3 months later it stopped working. I purchased another battery, although the manufacturer says the battery life is 1 year.

It worked for about one more week with the new battery and then completely died. I tried another new battery and it wouldn’t even turn on. Garmin only has a 45-day guarantee. Many reviews said it was junk.

I should have listened! I will never purchase another Garmin product again. Fitbit is releasing it’s Ace2 kids fitness tracker in May. I will wait for that one!.

Pros: Encourages children to increase physical activity. Got it for my 9 year old. Went for the 1st gen version as he isn’t into marvel characters. Great watch. I have a vivofit so we are going to have fun challenging each other.

Cons: Screen is a little small. Kids don’t necessarily need character icons to encourage, they all use ipads etc so the design can be sleek/adult like and still appeal to kids. They want to be like their parents!.

Last month I took my daughter to Disney World, she is 10. Walking around the parks can accumulate a lot of steps and we found after day 1 is was just shy of 30,000 steps. That’s a ton of walking and of course the complaints start coming in like “I’m tired of walking”, or” I know I am too big, but can we get a stroller?” I decided to use the Garmin Vivofit JR Minnie Mouse tracker, not only is it Disney stylish for the theme park, but I it was helpful in making the trip less whiny.

After day 1, I established a few challenges with the family. 1st, she needed to beat my step count daily for extra rewards ($$ for souvenirs), each day she beat me I have her an extra $2. 2nd she needs to accumulate 140K steps for the 7 days we are there as a cumulative total, again extra money $40 for Souvenirs.

By the end of the week she had the potential to earn enough to get a cool overpriced Disney toy. Looking back on it, this tracker saved me from tired kid frustrations, the need to want Souvenirs all the time (earn it) and promoted fitness (found her doing jumping jacks to get counts up to beat me).

Another positive is at the end of the night, I had a tired kid.

For our grandaughter who is turning 6y/o. She is sport mad at this young age and the watch will keep her motivated and active. It is agreat learning tool. Have brought the Garmin Vivofit Jr2 for all our granchildren for their 6th birthday.

product was exactly what my daughter desired for her birthday. I felt whilst quality was inherent of garmin brand. i think after product service could be improved to develop more product loyalty with the customer.

Simple email congratulating on decision to embrace higher quality and suggestion that in future another range of garmin products could also be beneficial to customer in their healthy lifestyle choice.

Even perhaps a discount if upgrade to another garmin product.
