20 Best Chili Seasoning Packet (2022 Updated)

Thank you [brand:mccormick] for the family size seasoning mix. I make chili monthly and is by far the best store seasoning mix. Its not spicy at all, and it has no artificial flavors. Great for my family of 5 and plenty of leftovers for work.

Very affordable found at [brand:walmart]. I would recommend this to others.

Here’s another favorite recipe. Saute a chopped onion and chopped green pepper, add ground beef (can mix with ground elk for additional flavor), and make chili according to directions with. Substitute Stewed Tomatoes for the diced tomatoes and add a 1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves.

Simmer as directed. The stewed tomatoes and cloves give this chili great flavor, try it!.

Until recently I have not used much in the way of seasoning packets because it seemed they always caused my delicate stomach to act up. I always season my own chili but bought this, on a lark, and tried it and loved it! I have sautéed ground beef and diced onions, add tomato paste ad some beef broth.

It makes super delicious chili with ground beef or diced chuck. That was really good. It make thee best chili cheese dog EVER! 🌭.

My Grandmother started her children cooking with Chili-O. My mother taught me,my sisters and brother how to make chili only using Chili-O. I taught my sons to make chili with it. My whole family which is about 25 people who do the cooking have been trying to find Chili-O for the last 3 years or more.

My son ordered the last two bottles he could fine 6 months ago and just got it. He was suppose to give a bottle to me but I don’t think that’s happening. He told me they haven’t made chili in years because he couldn’t fine Chili-O.

I don’t blame him for not wanting to give it up. Whatever possessed your company to stop making this product. At least give us a reason for making such a bad decision. You really need to start making Chili-O again.

I will tell you that I don’t try any of your néw products. There isn’t anything that makes me madder then to start using a product, LOVE IT, then the manufacturer stops making it and I can’t get it anymore.

Please start making CHILI-O again. You should be proud that you make a product that people love.

Your non-production of Chili-o Original mix in the end will cost you many lost sales as alternatives are available which are not produced by your Company. One of which I have found and will never buy your product again.

I guess you were trying to get much higher demand so you can raise its price. Why won’t you be honest and just admit your agenda instead of the pre-printed lame excuse you always send back? Good Luck on your scheme.

Okay. It was difficult to rate this product because I make a pretty mean chili from scratch. The recipe on the back of the package is for making a quick chili meal. All that said, the chili was tasty enough especially when paired with white rice.

I did not like the cumin powder or modified corn starch in the ingredients. I do appreciate the fact that it is gluten free, no msg or artificial flavors though for those folks whose diet restricts these ingredients.

It would’ve been good if the McCormick gluten-fre chili seasoning mix would have included on the back where instructions are given for a recipe using fresh ingredients like fresh tomatoes, dry beans.

In addition, the sodium content is too high in the seasoning and makes it too salty especially for people with high blood pressure. An option would be to reduce the sodium which could be made up for in another seasoning option of the chopped meat prior to the sauté with olive oil in lieu of regular cooking oil.

Acknowledge this is a quick fix meal; however, health concerns can also be considered when making a product for general public consumption. Overall, I give it 4* because the taste was good. PS Sorry, lost photo of pot of chili and now it is all gone.

If you follow the directions on the package, you might not get the kind of taste that you associate with a good bowl of chili. There is a bit too much of a tomato flavor, too, so I would back off on using a whole can of diced tomatoes — say 11 ounces of the 14.

5 in the standard can. Add some dried cumin, and maybe a little cilantro to get closer to a nice chili. You still won’t be there, yet, but those additions will get you closer. I’d also point out that the chili is quite a bit on the dry side.

It would be a mistake, though, to add just water to the mix as that will dilute the mix’s already subtle flavor. A better solution would be to add some V8 vegetable juice, but remember, if you do this, make sure you back off on the diced tomatoes.

Another possible enhancement would be to use diced tomatoes that are already Mexican/chili seasoned which will add some zip to the dish. Not one of McCormick’s better offerings, in my opinion; try their great Sloppy Joe mix instead.

this is my favorite chili mix, adds the right amount of seasoning and salt without being very hot at all. Whole family likes this.

This makes a really tasty chili. Glad it’s back! We make chili a lot in the winter months and this is a staple for our spices.

Chilli man chilli is the best chilli I have ever had. O grew up in Springfield Illinois where it was originally made at. I wish all the walmart stores would sell it but you don’t see it on the shelves on the west side of the country.

Heard about this years ago when Chilli Man won national Chilli Championship cookoffs twice. I was jealous. So I wanted to taste the seasoning to see how fabulous it truly was compared to mine. This stuff does not disappoint, and it works with both meat and faux meats used by vegans and vegetarians for a filling, lightly spicy dish.

I love dumping everything into a pot and having dinner ready in an hour that tastes and smells like I’ve spent hours over a hot stove.

We are originally from Springfield, lL where Chili Man Chili was originally manufactured. We grew up eating it locally. After moving away we missed it and when visiting Springfield would purchase several cans of chili and many packages of Chili Man Mix.

Since we do not get back as often, it is easy, convenient and economical to buy mix on internet thru Walmart. My wife makes chili by using the mix with hamburger, tomato sauce and chili and pinto beans.

We love the flavor.

That’s right, chili would not taste like chili without Williams chili seasoning. My mother used Williams and she taught my wife how to make her chili. I learned from my wife and have been making chili with Williams for many years.

One of my secrets to my delicious chili is to use about 1/4 more than any recipe calls for, makes the chili spicier. The blend of spices is always consistent and I love the 18 oz bottles because they are more economical.

I also love Williams Chili Seasoning because it’s made in the town in which I was raised.

I have used this product for 50 years and my mother before me. Its name was Grandma’s Chili Powder before Williams purchased the company. In my opinion, no other chili seasoning compares. Thank goodness they preserved the recipe.

Without Williams (Grandma’s), chili beans and recipes calling for chili powder just wouldn’t taste the same.

40 years! That’s how long I have been making chili with McCormick seasoning mix. I’ve taken it to youth bonfires, football parties, big church suppers. Always a hit. And we enjoy it at home on a regular basis.

Tonight I made the first chili of this fall, and made some extra to share with a neighbor. After we ate ours, or tried to, I actually had to call and apologize to the neighbor for the horrible chili.

I couldn’t even eat mine. The worst chili I have ever had in my life. And I did nothing different except use your “new and improved” mix! No more, McCormick. This family is moving on!.

I have used the Williams Chili Mix for years! Use the Chili mix to make Tacos, and they are the best tacos I have ever eaten. Cook the meat then add 1 packet of Chili Mix with just enough water to get it mixed around, let it warm through then eat! Sometimes I add a little salt to it also! This is a must try for Tacos, better than any other Taco mix in the stores! Thanks!.

I gave up on packaged chili seasoning years ago, but I was in a pinch and needed something easy/quick. I was pleasantly surprised. This was some darn good chili. Good enough in fact, that I’ll use it again next time.

Start with William’s Chili Seasoning Mix when you want to make a very good chili. Add an onion, fresh garlic, Ranch Style Beans and stewed and fresh tomatoes and top it off with a can of Rotel. Voila! It’s the best!.

This the BEST CHILI SEASONING MIX EVER !!! HANDS DOWN. Yes it would be nice to have it at your local store, I used to be able to walk in and buy at the Poulsbo Walmart. They may still have it there, my husband has had to due the shopping lately.

But you can ask the store to order it or write LAWRY’S TO !! Its worth buying over internet from Walmart. I used to be able to order from the company, they no longer do that for some odd reason. If we let the the LAWRY’S company and our stores where we shop know that we want their LAWRY’S CHILI maybe they will.

Everyone who has tasted my CHILI LOVES IT ! I LOVE IT!, The McCormick ‘s DOESN’T come close to the FLAVOR. LOL, they come from the same company which might what the problem is.

Lawrys makes making chili a breeze! I literally run to the store, grab a packet. the ingredients are all on the back that you need. and boom! Your dinner will be made in a jiffy! The flavor of this is delish.

This chili seasoning is really good. I did follow the direction exactly; I did added tomatoes; onion; bell pepper; celery; jalapeño; garlic and a few cans of green chile. For a spicier kick I added 1 tsp of cayenne pepper.

I will be making this chili again but I’m gonna quadruple the recipe next time. Thanks.

This is very, very hot. I mixed it with 2 cans of kidney beans, 2 cans of fire roasted tomatoes, marinara sauce and pasta and it was still very hot!! Now that I know, I will mix only about 1/3 or 1/2 of pkg with my other ingredients.

But it did add the flavor I usually get by adding a can of chili w/ beans but at a much better price. So recommend but be wary depending on your tolerance for hot food.

I use this when I’m making a big batch of chili. It has the perfect combination of spices that compliments all the other ingredients. And I love that I dont’ have to have all these spices on hand. Living in Florida, spices tend to attract moisture and these packets keep the spices dry.

I have not had a bowl of chili in 9 years, until I tried this product; spices with heat and I do not get on, yet when I made this with ground turkey, kidney/black beans, onions and bell peppers, I was so pleasantly surprised.

The mix of spices is just right and I wouldn’t alter the ingredients. The best part is my GI tract is happy because this is mild!.

this is a great quick meal. especially if you have not defrosted any hamburger. Just cook the frozen hamburger and keep going to the final delicious meal. This mix is my favorite, good chili taste, exactly the taste you think of when you think chili! Make it as hot as you’d like, great feature!.

This is my “GO TO” spice blend for making Chili and the best over the counter product available. One 4oz Kit (bag or box) requires 2 lbs of beef. I mostly use ground beef, but occasionally use hand diced pieces of chuck/sirloin (brisket, short ribs and other cuts or combination thereof can be used).

A double recipe is ideal for parties and leftovers can be frozen. The salt & cayenne packets (I use both in entirety) are ideally proportioned and result in a properly seasoned recipe with just the right “kick”, but you can easily adjust the amount to your personal tastes.

I always add sauteed onion (medium/large size yellow/Spanish/Vidallia) and bell pepper (large green or 1/2 green & 1/2 red/yellow/other for a nice color contrast). I also like to add Fresh diced garlic the last 1-2 minutes of cooking the onions/peppers.

I have never used the garam masala (sp) to thicken the chii; instead I chose to use about 2/3 of the recommended water (liquid such as brown ale/lager beer can be substituted for additional flavor; the alcohol cooks out).

If you add beans like I do, one regular size can (14-16 oz), drained, is ideal for a standard 4oz Kit (which uses 2lbs of beef). I use 1/2 can DARK kidney beans (they are a MUST for me as the color is much more vivid & appealing than the color of traditional/regular kidney beans) and 1/2 can BLACK beans (again because the color is vivid & appealling and contrasts well with the dark kidney beans; and also because they have a somewhat firmer texture and subtle differences in flavor).

FYI: Traditional CHILI is made from had cut pieces of beef (not ground beef). Vegetables such as onions/peppers can be used but are not required. CHILI does not contain BEANS; adding kidney beans, black beans or other LEGUMES will disqualify you from most if not all OFFICIAL Chili contests unless otherwise stated.

But I make CHILI to EAT so BEANS and anything else you want to add/substract are acceptable!.

Love using this to make beans and groung beef Chili. I use 2 lbs of groung beef, seasoned with Adobo, Paprika and Cajun Spices, and cooked until browned, chopped onions and green peppers, cooked, 1 can of red beans, 1 can of pinto or pink beans, 1 can of Chili Starter (crushed and diced tomatoes, bell and chili peppers), 1 24-oz jar of tomato, basil and garlic pasta sauce (to add more flavor and sweetness), and a few spices, and a couple of cups of water, and the Chili kit content minus the thickening masa.

Mix all ingredients together in a large pot, heat to a boiling, then simmer for at least an hour. This Carroll Shhelby’s Chili Kit makes good Chili even without all the extra ingredients I use to make my version of Chili.

For easy Chili, just follow the instructions on the back of the package.

Not bad, but not fantastic like I expected. Basically it turns out like taco meat with chili flavoring that would be good for chili dogs. Taste was good without the cayenne packet, but I found out there was absolutely no need for the masa packet.

Once you doctor it up with your own seasonings, beans, onions, tomatoes, garlic, peppers, more water, etc, it passes for what we call chili around here. Good but nothing to write home about. Truthfully, I can get the same results with ordinary chili mixes like McCormicks or even store brands.

I like the GV Chili seasoning over other brands including name brands because our family don’t like extremely spicy things. GV chili seasoning gives off just enough spice that makes the chili so good.

For this curious my Chilli besides browning the ground beef takes about 10 minutes to make. I use all GV brands. Here’s a quick recipe. 1lb or 2 of HB meat brown it. 4 cans of GV Chilli Beans in red sauce.

Great Value 64 FL oz tomato juice pore over beans. Mix in two packets of GV chili seasoning. Stir until mixed well then add cooked HB meat. If ya want quick and easy this is quick and easy and can simmer on the stove to warm up.

It’s been hard to purchase our regular products over the past year or so. As such, I got ‘stuck’ picking up some of the Walmart brand chili seasonings. They have been sitting with my seasonings for months.

Ran out of our regular seasonings and used the Walmart brand. I can’t believe how good it tasted! It is a mild basic chili base that is GREAT for our family!!! I like it hot, my wife likes it bland, and the kids vary in every spiced combination in-between! In the past we would add spices to ‘regular’ chili seasonings with substandard results.

But the Walmart brand is a great balance to eat as is or to enhance as one might like without the conflicting taste from other more expensive chili seasoning and the hot sauces one might add. The Walmart brand mixes very well with every seasoning we tried.

If you have a family that likes chili, but never seems to be satisfied with the normal packaged seasonings, try Walmart brand. It’s a 1/3 the price and and offers more opportunities for enhancing.

this is a really great seasoning! It’s nice and salty and pair very well with whatever kind of taco meat you’re using whether it’s beef or ground chicken it definitely does make a difference and makes it very flavorful!.

I love these Chili spice packs. I use a can of regular Campbell’s chili and a can of Campbell’s spicy chili, add these two cans to cooked ground beef and add a package of McCormick Chili Spice and you have a great meal.

I also melt shredded cheese on top. Folks who have eaten this recipe swear it was home made chili.

Great consistent flavor. If you don’t like diced tomatoes, you can use tomato sauce like my daughter does. This makes a delicious chili whether you use ground beef or ground turkey.

This seasoning helps to cut the prep time down, by helping to add flavor that Regular Chili Powder doesnt, unless you work at it. Cooking is time consuming… and all good help is always welcome.

I order thee products over and over again. The have really helped lower my sodium intake / lower BP/ and certainly help my heart stay healthy. Mrs dash’s chili, taco, meatloaf, sloppy joe mix are the best.

This is one of my favorite spice packets to use. I’ve tried many chili recipes that had this or that as a secret ingredient but this is one of mine. Not too warm, not too salty. Super tasty.
