20 Best Chimney Sweep Vacuum (2022 Updated)

The C3 Calima is a wonderful canister vacuum by Miele. I have used and owned many canisters from the German manufacturer, both in Germany and here in the US. The only disappointment was one made in the US who lasted only 3 years, as I had to replace the motor unit.

Since then I made sure that I bought only vacuums made in Germany, or those that used German made parts. I bought the last vacuum 7 years ago, and it is still in top notch condition. I bought the Calima for a new vacation home.

While I do not know, of course, much about the longtime reliability of the Calima, it performs superbly sofar.

I’m not sure if I’m reviewing this on the correct product page but I’m writing about the Miele complete c3 excellence powerline vacuum. I absolutely love this thing. It was not cheap but I 100% stand by the purchase and would do it again in a heartbeat.

It’s great for many reasons. It’s bagged and everything is sealed so no need to empty a bin regularly. We’ve had this vacuum for over a year now and I still haven’t had to change the first bag we put in yet.

I was originally not super happy with having to buy bags given their price, but after seeing how long a single bag lasts, I have no qualms. The suction is great and has multiple settings depending on what you’re looking to vacuum.

There’s a nice long retractable cord that makes it easy to move around and to store. We have central vac at our new place but I just bust this guy out instead of using the central vac.

I absolutely love this vacuum. Yes, it is expensive, but I’ve learned that at least as far as appliances are concerned, you get what you pay for. The power head works very well to pick up all the hair, dirt and other junk from carpets.

I love the adjustable wand height, and the fact that it adjusts down for more compact storage. The hardwood tool is like, honestly, the best thing in the world. It pivots in all directions and makes getting under the sofa and other furniture a breeze without having to lay down on the floor to do it.

We’ve had this for about 5 years now, and I still think it’s as great as I did when we first got it. I highly recommend it—it is way better than the Dyson we had before!.

Where do I even start? I’ve had many different vacuum cleaners in the past, including those by Shark and Dyson. This beast is in a different league. It definitely wasn’t cheap (I paid $799) but it’s so worth the price! When friends or family ask what I paid they think I’m crazy till they try it for themselves! I couldn’t and wouldn’t EVER go back to any other brand of vacuum! Firstly the build quality is far superior.

I expect this will last as long as my old Miele which lasted around 15 years. It feels very solid and dense and has an unmistakable air of quality about it. Talking about air, it really does suck it in.

It’s the most powerful vacuum I’ve ever used and easily lifts up rugs, carpet, cushions and lino in the kitchen! Nothing can stand in its way. It handles everything with ease. It also has a very effective air filter on board which helps with any odors.

The machine comes with a handy selection of brush heads and tools underneath a hatch on top of its sports car-like chassis. There are also buttons that govern the level of suction power – from a low power mode suitable for vacuuming curtains and other delicate items, a quieter mode for when you’re vacuuming through the night and of course the rip-roaring full suction mode for everything else.

Without taking up too much more of your time – this is a spectacular piece of engineering which you will not regret buying. It will last you decades and can handle everything you throw at it. Buy it and love it.

Just make sure that when your friends borrow it (which they will ask to do) you get it back!.

My husband and I are tall people, I absolutely love the fact that this canister vacuum has a long nozzle where I don’t feel like I’m leaning over too much to vacuum the floor. It’s very quiet, you can still have a conversation with it running.

The turbo suction is no joke, be careful it’ll eat your rug easily, learned there are different settings for the suction amount! Love that the floor head is much larger than the other leading brands.

I also have allergies, so this HEPA filtration system is a a bonus to help keep our inside air clean. My only suggestion for future models is to have an option for on/off switch to be on the handle too.

You always have to use the foot switch for operation, for older folks it’s a long of bending down for operation. Overall so glad we invested the money to get this great vacuum!.

Pros: I never thought a design of a vacuum could change so much the use of it. Miele is exeptionally convenient and solid to use. All main attachments lock in, small attachments are always within the vacuum so you will never lose them.

All the parts cna be carried with one hand. Due to long hose and other parts even tall people can use the vacuum without the need to bend – you can even use Miele in the centre of the room and reach all the floor in medium size rooms without moving the vacuum, cable is so long I can vacuum most of the house without switching power outlets.

Performance is the best I have seen. Has two main attachments, one is turbine with brushes works perfectly for carpet and picks up every hair but sometimes struggles to pick up small rice bits. Other ending picks up rice bits without no problems, but doesn’t pick as many hair.

Bags and filters have a decent price, 4 and 2 filters (lasting around a year) cost about 15-18 gbp or 11gbp if you buy 4 years instantly. Vacuum doesn’t release any “vacuum smell” air out, Miele does not get hot as my previous vacuums.

I just can’t say enough good things about it, especially if you get it with a discount. Cons: Miele c3 cag and dog is amazing, but it could improve in:-Easier way to remove hair from Turbine brush. -Small attachments locking.

-A more straight forward opening of the vacuum to reveal bags and filters.

I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of use, power and convenience of the A9T-Auto. The suction in ‘turbo’ mode is excellent. I did not expect the A9T to be as powerful as our AC-powered 2200W barrel vacuum, which has a power head.

After giving an area of carpet 10 passes using the power head of our barrel vacuum, I was surprised that several passes with the A9T-Ultra in ‘turbo’ mode managed to lift additional dirt from the carpet.

The stick vacuum is easy to use, being lightweight and easy to manoeuvre. The swivelling multi-surface power head and extendable shaft make it easy to vacuum around and underneath objects. A major plus is that the multi-surface power head does not seem to clog up with long hair.

What little remains on the head is easy to remove. In contrast, the power head of our barrel vacuum requires disassembly and matted hair cut free with a sharp knife after every use. The ‘Kompressor’ lever has also proven effective at pushing off long hair wrapped around the primary cyclonic mesh filter, prior to auto-emptying in the tower.

Having two batteries is a major convenience. Although only lasting seven or eight minutes each in ‘turbo’ mode, we can vacuum our entire (carpeted) four bedroom house on the two batteries. In comparison, to clean the house with the barrel vacuum required two to three times as long and was certainly more onerous.

The vacuum is easy to disassemble and clean, and being able to wash the filters under the tap is a major advantage. The dust bag automatically sealing when removed from tower ensures there is no mess.

After one use, my daughter decided she wanted to replace her barrel vacuum with an A9T-Auto. There are some negatives, although minor. It would be useful to be able to separately purchase more of the additional tools (such as those provided with A9T-Ultra), and some method of being able to clip the crevice tool to the shaft of the stick when in use would be an advantage.

For those with small or weak hands, removal of the battery can be difficult. Increasing the suction from ‘power’ to ‘turbo’ mode would have been much more convenient with a single press of the ‘+’ button, rather than needing to hold it down for several seconds.

It would also have been convenient if the batteries charged in tandem. The dust bags are quite expensive and not designed to be reusable, although being supplied with three with the purchase was very handy.

Overall, the A9T-Auto is an excellent powerful and easy to use vacuum cleaner and highly recommended.

I was given the privilege of being able to test this vacuum from LG and my first impression was whoa this looks amazing quickly followed by a wave of panic thinking “ holy hell that’s a lot of parts “ But I have to say it was reasonably easy to put together with the instructions! I was extremely shocked at the price as this definitely fall is the higher end price range and to be fair personally I don’t think it’s worth the price! There was parts I loved and others were well a let down ! My kids usually love helping with the vacuuming but unfortunately this hand set is quite heavy and can be difficult to maneuver for little hands and a mum trying to juggle a toddler of their hip.

The small head seemed all but useless as it was difficult to get it to give a good clean of a surface! The large head well I have so many bits i personally dislike firstly is doesn’t eat Lego and it also doesn’t like stickers and both these things till be throw at you like a projectile when you lift the vacuum up and it’s still going and I can confirm it hurts when they connect.

Yes it’s sleek and stylish and will suit most design styles but it is bulkier than I expected! The mop head is easy to use I have to say I love the laminate instructions so there is not reason worry about ripped or water damaged instructions! So if you really want to spoil yourself with an very up market vacuum that may or may not vacuum up what you want to vacuum up give it a go.

The 2 batteries make it super easy and quick to swap them over and they both charge at the same time one in the handset and one in the stand. Unfortunately a mum of toddlers and older kids I don’t have the time to pick up every tiny piece off the floor so I can vacuum it without having it throw something at me.

The cyclonic wind that blows from the handset while is use is a tad intimidating if you have long hair as when you lean down your hair is super close to it. My family have all used it and had similar dislikes but all in all the carpet feels softer after using it as it doesn’t flatten the fibers and it feel soft and clean after each vacuum.

I can’t express how thankful I am for this opportunity !.

As a vacuum it’s perfectly acceptable. It does require a fair amount of regular maintenance (tip clean the interior dust trap weekly) but it does a good job picking up dust and hair. It does a terrable job of picking up anything the size of a small pebble or larger and most of the time it will just spit it back out.

The mop function on the other hand is awful. Really, don’t waste the extra hundred dollars for this particular version. The water can’t be controlled and just slowly drips out. Per the manual it only uses plain water so no soapy solutions to get the floors really clean.

The one time we used the mop function, the spin head on the vacuum part stopped working the next time we tried to use it. I don’t think it was related but we did have to return the unit for a replacement as a result.

The kompressor feature is nice to push down pet hair and results in having to empty it less often but sometimes pet hair gets stuck on the other side. When that happens more gets caught up there until you take the whole inside apart and clean it out.

Battery life is acceptable and I can usually get about 800 square feet of carpet on the second setting before one battery runs out. On the most powerful setting though I can maybe get a full bedroom before it runs out.

The extra battery it includes is a bonus. Also the stand works great and has a spot to charge the spare battery when you aren’t using it. Bottom line, this product is good but don’t waste your money on the version with the mop function, for the price you can get a standalone electric mop that out performs this one by miles.

Also full price is too much for this unit. I got it on sale for $550 and feel like that price is on the high end of what it is worth.

Over our 46 years of marriage having living in DC, Texas, Hawaii and now I’m Central California, we have purchased over 25 vacuum cleaners of all the various shapes, sizes and types. Most have not led up to the hype given them by their ad departments- until now.

We just finished a remodel of our ocean front condo having installed beautiful Black Forest white oak hardwood floors. We tried a few of highly touted vacuum contraptions on the market and were disappointed in the results- left over dirt, minor scratches on the flooring, cumbersome machines that were difficult to use.

Flash forward to our new LG Cordless. Our hardwood floors love the vacuum as it not only does the job of picking up dirt, dust, dog hair (think Long haired Tibetan Terrier) and yes, some of my hair that is hastily departing from my head as I continue to age.

Being a bit of a nit picker, I’ve always had a problem with things being out of place, windows that needed cleaning and floors that required immediate attention. Our (MY) LG Cordless is the absolute best in thoroughly cleaning AND polishing our floors thanks to the ingenious hardwood floor attachment that comes with the LG.

FYI, be sure to not use the well designed carpet attachment on your hardwoods. Suffice it to say, i found my Nirvana and no longer have the need to conduct hours of research to find my perfect vacuum.

I absolutely love this vacuum cleaner. The $1300 price tag is justified by the amazing quality this machine. I have purchased a LG TV, LG sound bar and LG fridge myself and have always been a big believer and lover of the brand.

So it came to me as no surprise, how great this vacuum is. It has so many attachments ( only wish that it came with an attachment bag, so I can store them all) and it’s super quiet! Also the vacuum handle is height adjustable, so perfect for short people like me.

My favourite attachment is the yellow punch nozzle which I have never seen on any other product. It uses vibrations to unlock trapped dust from mattresses and upholsteries. It’s absolutely perfect for me because I vacuum my fabric couch once a week.

The mop attachment is good in theory (it has a rotating mop and vacuum in one attachment), however I do find it a little tricky to use and I’m also very cautious with it since I don’t want the vacuum to suck up the liquid and get into the dust canister.

Mop is located at the back of attachment and vacuum is at the front. The vacuum, comes with 2 batteries, combined use time of 120mins on normal use, so I never have to worry about the battery running out! For someone with two young kids, I used to take out my dyson three times a day! And now my dyson has been moved to the garage, LG A9 ultra vacuum is now the new king!.

LOVE Henry/Harry!!! Friendly little chap with a FEROCIOUS appetite. He’s the vacuum we should have purchased YEARS ago, instead of all those bagless, horrifyingly expensive uprights, promising to be all we needed to keep our home clean and quickly proving they just weren’t up to the job.

One of the most amazing points about Harry is that he doesn’t blow “wet dog” odours back out as he vacuums. Now the carpets not only look spotless again but the rooms smell fresh thanks to his charcoal filter.

The electric lead is really long and the dust bag is massive so, all in all, no need to keep stopping to find another socket to plug in to, rarely having to fit a new dust bag and no stopping to pull dog hair out of his special “fur” attachment, because he just keeps going.

Pros: Tube too long for me as I am short, but you can remove one piece of the metal tube to reduce length. British made. Previously had two small cheap (<£70) hepa 'Hoover' cylinder vacuums which funnily enough failed two months after warranty each time! Wanted new hoover to last much longer to be kinder to landfill (eco reasons) and it seems robust enough to last longer than 2-3 years, time will tell.

There must be a reason why cleaners and builders routinely choose this brand!Great suction including large bits of kiddie-crumbs. Very long lead mitigates extra weight on stairs and less time changing plug sockets.

Cons: Heavier than last vacuum (it’d be hard not to be, to be fair, as last ones were light). A bit cumbersome on stairs but long lead helps with that.

I couldn’t despise a vacuum more than I despise this one. We have had three Shark vacuums before this one. They were all the Navigator, but not the lift away. This model is horrible. The drum fills up with ONE PASS OVER OUR LIVING ROOM AND WE HAVE BRAND NEW CARPET.

Literally, we had our house was built, everything completely new, we have no pets, we don’t smoke, and we bought this vacuum brand new to use in our new house so none of the old “dust and dirt” from our previous home would be transferred to this “new everything” house.

Every single time we use it it smells weird. We’ve cleaned the filters, we clean the drum, we have replaced the filters, all three, it still smells. The way it’s built is so unsteady it falls over at the slightest gust of wind.

Literally I have walked by it too quickly and it’s fallen over. The hose seems like it’d be long but it’s so tight it doesn’t stretch far. I cannot find a single thing about this vacuum I like and that stinks because I am an avid Shark product lover.

Now, as I’m looking for another new vacuum to replace this barely used one that’s garbage all around, my husband doesn’t want to get another Shark because of this one. Not to say I blame him, because I don’t, it’s horrible.

Over the last 7-8 years of having Shark vacuums this one ruined their image and reliability for us both. And that’s after our second one caught on fire and burned my husband’s hand, but they sent us a new upgraded version of that model we had even though it was two years old and pretty worn out, because the reason it caught fire was fixed for the new model they sent us.

So we weren’t even that upset over that entire incident. This whole vacuum in comparison makes me really annoyed they would even sell a product like this.

The Shark – Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is a good and powerful relatively lightweight vacuum. The cord is long, the handle is a comfortable height, and the vacuum swivels so it’s easy to push and get around furniture.

It has powerful suction and is height adjustable so it works well on different types and lengths of carpet. The roller can be turned off, which is convenient if you want to use it on bare floors or decorative carpeting with long tassels.

Some things that I would have liked more of is on board tools, this only comes with 1 extender crevice tool and 1 little combo duster piece which I don’t know what it’s really called. The dirt cup is an ok size but of course space is taken up by the filter, and It’s easy to empty.

You can remove the whole center section of the vacuum and use it with the hose and extender crevice tool or other tool if you want to vacuum higher places like vents on a wall or ceiling fans, or go up the steps while vacuuming the baseboards, etc.

Easy to use- makes vacuuming seem like less of a chore! It’s been over a year since we got it Oct 2020, and it’s still working just as well as it did the 1st time we used it, which is saying a lot because it has to keep up with the fur of 2 cats and 1 long hair dog that sheds a lot! We’ve gone through a bunch of vacuums, all brand names, thru the years, and this Shark Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is definitely the best one so far!.

This vacuum is okay. I broke my other Shark Navigator, the NV586 purple one, about a year ago and needed a quick replacement so I thought this one would be just as good. It was not. It was fine but really just not powerful enough to handle my 4 kiddos and two pets.

So I went looking for an upgrade and I am coming back to write a review finally becuase I recently purchased the new Shark Vertex DuoClean (AZ2002) and OMG I never knew what I was literally missing. One single pass over an 8×10 rug and the DuoClean picked up more dirt and hair than any other vacuum I have ever owned.

No exaggeration, I think I picked up years worth of nasty that I had no idea was still in there. As a bonus, it also glides over the hardwood floors picking up everything instead of scattering it like other vacuums and now I am also throwing away my brooms.

After owning three Sharks and one Dyson, I would recommend the DuoClean forever. So the NV360 is fine for single folks with no pets or kids who also don’t need to do hardwood floors, otherwise watch for a sale and snag the new DuoClean.

Works like a champ. I have hardwoods, rugs, carpet, and tile throughout current home and it switches seamlessly between all three without having to change the device. Has been a life saver with hardwood floors and no longer having to waste 45+minutes/day sweeping to only have a ton of doggo hair left behind- 20mins and all surfaces are clean af! Quiet, effective, and extremely efficient.

No doubt its worth the $1k price tag!.

Love my Miele C3 Marin! Very powerful and quite machine. All the included attachments are on board the machine. The power head is super quite and easy to operate. The bare floor tool is Great at picking up any kind of fine dust and debris of tile.

All in all I recommend this vacuum to anyone who suffers from allergies it’s a 100 percent Sealed System.

I’ve only used it a few times, but this canister vacuum is much quieter than any vacuum cleaner I’ve had before. It also has lots of ways to adjust it to the needs of the particular job at hand. I like that the tools have somewhere to hide and that the stick clips into the canister to stand up vs.

our previous vacuum which gave me gray hairs from the loud bang every time the stick wand would topple over onto the floor!.

After having the vacuum around a month, cleaning is less of a chore, having to plug in the old unit (standard style vacuum) felt more difficult, and then connecting attachments via the extendable hose was never truly easy.

With this vacuum we simply grab it as required and then do a weekly all over clean. Connecting the attachments is easy and the head automatically adjusting to different surfaces is very handy, we mainly have carpets except for the kitchen and bathroom.

There is a 3 step selector to increase or decrease the standard roller head suction and 3 modes of power (eco, std, boost). Even my daughter now cleans her room with the smaller roller head as it will get around much better than the old full size vacuum.

Emptying the cleaner is easy but whatever attachment is on the unit must be removed first, my only concern is if the mechanism will become more worn due to always having to be clipped and un-clipped.

If hair gets tangled further inside the unit, that can also be opened easily, although putting it back is slightly trickier but not hard. The wall holder and charger are well designed and make regular use of the cleaner more likely, the smart charger is always on and should keep the battery at optimum.

The battery indicator automatically adjusts the remaining use time dependent on the surface being cleaned (heavy pile carpet will cause more resistance to the roller therefore using more power) Overall very happy with the Vacuum, all well made and thought out.

At first we nearly returned our V11 Absolute having been annoyed with the fact there is no clickable on/off switch. Having to hold down the power button is tiresome when doing the full house. This combined with the weight of the vac does put a lot of pressure on your trigger finger causing discomfort after 5 minutes.

Fine for a couple of mid-30 year olds like us but for anyone suffering from arthritis I’d highly advice buying something else! I guess the another gripe would be you have to lay the whole thing down when you stop as there is no locked upright position like the Shark cordless have.

But this was expected from a Dyson cordless handheld. Everything else is great, the suction perfect, ease of emptying great, cleaning the filter simple and fast! Holds loads of waste, tool options, charging time, mounting on the wall with ease, can vac a 4 bed detached house with 10 minutes to spare on the battery.

It is a life changer for family with young kids too! Thanks Dyson – but please fix the on/off switch as it’s so annoying and you will lose sales for just this one gripe. We only didn’t return it as there wasn’t a strong contender.

Shark just don’t have the customer service Dyson has either! I’ve had broken parts in the past replaced with next day delivery for free – no quarrels.

I have used the V11 for 6weeks. The suction power is very impressive. The suction is better than my corded Miele vacuum cleaner and it is much quieter and way lighter. It has removed far more dirt than the Miele which is only two years old.

The V11 has brought vacuuming into the 21st century. The various attachments are easily attached and removed, the machine is light, steers easily over carpets and hard floors. The ‘boost’ setting has huge suction power, which I rarely need to use, the ‘auto’ and ‘economy’ settings are perfectly adequate for 99% of usage.

I have a Labrador which moults continuously and the V11 picks up all the dogs hairs without any problem from both carpets and hard floors. The battery is currently more than adequate, I have not yet run it flat, using it in a 3 bed size house.

Emptying the bin is very simple and works easily. The floor brush head keeps itself clean, I,e,there are no hairs wrapped around the roller and after 6 weeks it still looks like new. Dare I say it is a joy to use – even the kids are using it because it is so easy to operate !! I’m not impressed by many things and I’ve had Bosch and Miele vacuum cleaners which were both good but, this V11 out scores them hands down, no contest.

I would happily go out selling the Dyson V11 as it is such a a convincing machine, I highly recommend it. ( And no, I am not a dyson employee!! ).

If you like using a canister vacuum or are thinking of getting rid of a heavy upright or other vacuum, then this is the one to purchase if it meets your cleaning needs. I’ve had other much more expensive Miele canister models in the past with more bells and whistles, but as far as suction goes, every Miele canister vacuum has the same motor.

I found this particular Miele model was the lightest and smallest Miele canister vacuum I’ve used making it extremely easy to operate and store and pull out whenever I need it for even the smallest of messes.

I’ve done a ton of research on many brands and many different Miele models before making this purchase. When choosing the correct Miele canister vacuum it is all about your home and your cleaning needs.

This model is perfect for hardwood floors and low-pile to mid-pile carpeting/rugs and everything above the floor. I’m pleasantly surprised how well the air driven turbo carpet nozzle cleans and how easy and light it is to push around on area rugs and wall-to-wall carpeting.

Although the turbo nozzle isn’t as wide as an electric power nozzle or upright vacuum’s cleaning path, the turbo nozzle also has a great benefit of allowing it to reach in tight places like between chairs under beds and in-between many tight places and furniture.

I recommend opening the air flow valve on top of the turbo nozzle and setting the motor speed dial on the canister NOT to the highest level when using the turbo nozzle on carpets and rugs. I have a cat and with these settings, the turbo nozzle really does a great job of picking up dirt and cat hair on my carpets & rugs and with minimal pushing and pulling effort on my part.

For bare floor cleaning, use the included bare floor tool with the motor speed dial on the canister to the highest level. I find this Miele canister vacuum model is extremely easy to operate and works well if you use the correct settings.

It is true that an electric powered carpet nozzle offered on other higher-end more expensive Miele canisters might work better for certain jobs, but with low-pile and mid-pile carpets like the ones I have and living in a relatively small home, this model is perfect choice for us and cleans extremely well.

Also keep in mind that Miele models with the electric power nozzle have much heavier hoses, heavier hose handles that are awkward for above the floor cleaning/dusting, heavier carpet nozzles, and heavier wands that make cleaning more difficult because of the weight (especially when cleaning above the floor or carrying the vacuum to multiple floors).

You will not have weight issues with this model. The only cons I have for this model is that even though it is a lower-end Miele canister with less bells and whistles than other Miele canister models is that it is still a Miele and it is kind of expensive, however you do get what you pay for and that is quality I can feel with every use and hopefully this quality will last for years (I believe the motor has a 7 year warranty from Miele).

Also, the cord could be longer, the bags could be bigger and less expensive (however, I would never go with a bagless vacuum again because of the mess and dust seeping back into the air. Miele bags are of the highest quality), and it would be nice if the tools had a place for storage inside the canister, but this might make the weight of the vacuum heavier so I can easily live without on-board tool storage.

Overall, I’ve tried and owned many other types of vacuums including bagged and bagless uprights / canisters with and without electric power nozzles, stick vacuums, and a central vacuum that was built into a house I once owned.

By far, this has been the lightest and easiest to use vacuum I’ve owned and it far exceeds all of my cleaning needs and the canister is totally sealed locking in all of the dust and allergens (A sealed Miele is really terrific if you have allergies or don’t want dust to resettle on your furniture after cleaning).

At one time all Miele vacuums were made and assembled in Germany and that always meant great quality. Although this model is assembled in China, parts and design are from Germany. If you have multiple pets, a large home, lots and lots of wall-to-wall carpeting, and carpeting that is shag or high-pile, then this Miele model may not be for you.

I have had this Vacuum 4 years. I know several others who have them, one has lasted over 15 years. For those of you who say it does not pick up pet hair I would suggest you use the powerhead with brush on it.

You do and should check the roller every couple months and cut away anything wrapped around roller for optimum function. I never use anything but that whether carpet or hardwood floors. I have two cats who shed , so does a friend, picks up all of it and this little gem is powerful.

I have no problem with it effectively picking up pet hair. The extension on the wand is an excellent part of the design, and well used.

When I purchased this vacuum, it was the best, most powerful vacuum I have every owned. However, after having only used it 8-10 times, it broke. The floorbrush stopped working. I called Miele and was shocked when they refused to honor their manufacturer warranty because it was not purchased at a Miele store.

When I called the Miele store in my area for advice about the vacuum they stated that Miele products do not work well if you have pets. (they even said the pet vacuum they sell does not handle fur either) I was surprised by this but appreciated their honesty.

Long story short, if you have pets and/or carpet this is not the vacuum for you. If you think you might ever need help with a part or need the assistance of their customer service dept, this is not the company for you.

I sent a complaint to the better business bureau about them and sadly, found myself in good company with numerous other complaints about them. The Better Business Bureau rates them an F. It doesn’t get any worse than that folks.

What a great vacuum! This replaced my 10+ year old Miele cat & dog vacuum (bagged vacuum) and I have to say, it was a lot better than I expected. I was worried that the suction wouldn’t be as strong having also used a bagless Dyson – I was wrong! The suction on this is so much better than the Dyson and I would say better than my previous Miele too.

I have hardwood floors, low pile carpets and various rugs around my house and I’ve actually only used the highest suction setting as a test and have found that I only really need the medium setting or lower for my needs.

It looks great (my husband says it looks like something from Star Wars!), isn’t too heavy, has a long cord and stores well, as the tube is telescopic. The dust compartment is clear, so it’s easy to see when it needs emptying and also very easy to empty, a quick wipe down with a damp cloth after and you are good to go again.

The only negatives are very small, one being that the two handles at the top look very similar. One is a carrying handle and the other is the handle for the dust compartment which comes off if you pull it up.

Of course I will get used to this in due course and remind myself that the one with ‘Miele’ logo is the carry handle. The other thing is that this vacuum is slightly too wide to sit comfortably on a step of my stair case.

I usually leave it at the top or bottom and vacuum in sections so not too much of a problem, but something to bear that in mind if you have tall narrow stairs. All in all I think this vacuum is great value for money, keeping in mind you don’t need to purchase any bags for it and the filters are washable so lot’s of savings there too.

I’d recommend this Miele over a Dyson any day to anyone thinking of purchasing a vacuum.

First impressions were very good. The vacuum cleaner all goes together well, and the quality of the product is very obvious (especially when compared to our cordless VAX which has several bits broken after only a few months).

I’ll admit our wonderful cleaner has used it more often than we have, but we all agree it is manoeuvrable, vacuums well, and also empties relatively easily and cleanly. We have a brush bar on the heads of both our cordless vacuum and the Harry (pet version of Henry), and that is useful when our cat is moulting.

This version of the Miele lacks a powered brush – if you have pets I would probably consider upgrading to the pet version. We still use the other vacuums for areas where the cat hair has built up in his favourite sleeping spots around the house.

One niggle is that the handle to release the dust container is the same size as the handle to lift the vacuum itself and located where you would normally expect to lift the vacuum. cue all of us regularly picking up the wrong handle and removing the dust container instead of lifting the vacuum.

Our cleaner mentioned the very easy-to-use adjustable hose, and the handy tool storage. Dust container is a decent size. All in all, we will probably keep both our Harry and cordless vacuums as they have the powered brush bars, but I’m afraid Harry has been relegated to being the upstairs vacuum.

The Miele is an excellent quality product – just wish we’d got the pet version!.

We’ve had a Dyson cordless for about 7 years and its been a fantastic product but it is now showing its age. The battery isn’t great and its almost falling apart. The Miele brand comes with some very high expectations and this didn’t have many reviews, given how new it was but we took a punt.

What an exceptional product this is and it blows our Dyson out of the water by a mile. It’s light (5kg~) easy to manuever and all the accessories can be attached to the hose so that you don’t have to leave them behind.

Emptying the hoover is easy, you simply lift a lever and it unclips. There is a push button near the bottom so emptying it is easy. It comes with a standard filter, which is recommended that you change but you can order a HEPA one from the Miele website if you wish.

There is also a small brush that you can use to clean the dust compartment and the one of the filters can be rinsed in water and left to dry. Excellent suction power with 4 different settings incuding a super quiet one, in case you want to vacuum at night.

The accessories that it comes with are pretty standard on all vacuums and the main brush allows for hard floor and carpet. Overall, this is an exceptional product and I’m glad we purchased this instead of another Dyson.

My only negative is that the cable isn’t as long as it could be but it’s fine for our house.

Suction is good, but very much in line with other good vacuum cleaners such as electrolux. It is heavy, large, difficult to maneuver with a large hose which is difficult to manage if you have smaller hands.

The bagless mechanism is where it all falls apart. It is clumsy, and messy. You’ll need another vacuum to clean this vacuum, and if you’re sensitive, keep those N95 masks handy, because the plume of dust upon release is like a mini nuclear bomb that blows up your trashcan.

Also, parts are fragile, the plastic seems thin and brittle, and the release ‘button’ doesn’t look like its made for touching. It looks like something you should leave alone, like it’s part of some complex mechanism.

I know it sounds silly, but I think these things should have clean, touchable designs. This clasp to release is just inelegant.

Pros: No expensive bags to buy. Mains operated so battery doesn’t run out every five minutes. Handle on pole comfortable. Canister pulls around effortlessly. Very strong construction of the casing. Tools slide into place smoothly.

Turbo tool for carpets does a thorough job. Cons: The yellow clip on dust bin has to be fully engaged with thumbnail (to the right) after closing the bin, just to make sure it is tight and secure. but that isn’t a problem really.

The canister is fairly heavy but that doesn’t matter as you push the pole not the whole unit, and the canister is not too heavy to carry upstairs.

I bought this vacuum over a year ago after deciding I wanted to try a canister vacuum and a different brand than Dyson (everyone has a Dyson, and I like to keep it different!), and I am so glad that I did.

I vacuum almost daily and am a little rough with my vacuums, so quality is important to me and this vacuum definitely holds up to the beating it gets. It’s so easy to empty the canister, and the overall vacuum is so light even my 5 year old can maneuver it.

The best thing about this vacuum is how amazingly quiet it is- my child can watch tv in the same room I am vacuuming and not have to bump the volume up like he doesn’t even notice I’m in the room.

Plus, this vacuum will suck up even the tiniest flecks of junk along baseboards on carpet and wood. I really can’t say enough good about this purchase. 10/10 definitely recommend.

Let me start by saying, I have never left a review, but I felt very compelled to do so for this product. I purchased this vacuum in September, after having owned a few other Sharks – I have always been a huge Shark fan.

that is until now! This vacuum is not the same quality that I am used to from Shark. Immediately upon using, it is very awkward to maneuver, and the floor nozzle that holds the brush roll is defective – meaning it sounds like it is going to break into pieces every time you place your foot on the nozzle to bend the handle backward.

And, then once you finally have the handle back and are ready to begin vacuuming, every time you even need to make a slight turn, it is SO LOUD like plastic breaking. I called Shark and explained the situation, since there is supposed to be a 5 year warranty, and did a video call so that they could see and hear the issues.

The representative did confirm “you definitely have a defective vacuum”, so I thought – Oh, great, they are going to replace my vacuum. WRONG! He proceeded to tell me that eventhough there is a 5 year warranty, the floor nozzle is unfortunately not a covered part.

So he said it was almost $100, but as a courtesy they were willing to offer me 50% off. I advised that was unacceptable seeing as they should stand behind their product, especially after only a few months, and that I should not be on the hook to spend more money for a defective product that I received out of the box.

He placed me on hold and spoke to his “superior” and then came back and said that unfortunately that was the best that they could do. I said I would rather spend my $50 on purchasing another better quality vacuum and I will unfortunately just be trashing this one.

Total waste of money. This vacuum is absolute garbage and I would steer clear if I were you. They clearly are not making the same quality vacuums anymore and they certainly do not stand behind their products.

I hate this vacuum. I have been using it for about 3 years and I have absolutlely had it it with this thing. I’m in the middle of vaccuming my living right now and I had to stop to write this review because I hate it so much.

My old Shark powered lift away was a much better vacuum. There are little teeth on the Apex Duo vacuum that strip hairs from the brush roll but those little teeth catch all manner of things that a vacuum should be able to pick up which then clog the intake and have to be removed by hand.

My Jerky goldendoodle decided to take a paper napkin from the end table that I forgot to pick up before retiring to my slumber and chew it into tiny pieces. I awoke this morning to see my floor covered in such a multitude of white fluffy bits that I initially thought maybe he had murdered a chicken in the night.

I pulled out my trusty Shark Apex Duo and began the to tackle the mess. I instantly realized the most expensive vacuum in the Shark line up is indeed powerfull. it has the power to destroy time itself.

It took what should have been a 30 second task and turned into an entire morning of frustration fueled by bending over, removing the brush roller multiple times and displacing the offending pieces of paper towel that were standing defiantly in front of the intake all while my morning coffe cooled to the point of no return.

I have grown to hate this vacuum and so will you. I am going to smash it with a baseball bat and put it on YouTube, so keep an eye out for That.

Bought this shark duo on Black Friday on the shark website they had an awesome deal that I just couldn’t pass up, my old shark had died after having it for 4 years! I loved that thing! So naturally I knew I had to get another shark… my friend had bought this same one back in the spring and loved it so much she told me to get one, so I did… I love that the bottom plastic top can pop completely off and you can take the orange roller completely off I have not yet taken this roller off yet but find that the window coming completely off is very helpful to get to paper/nerf darts out of without having to take it apart with a screw driver.

I love that I can completely remove the tank and vacuum under my couch the whole way! I tried to do the same for my oversized chair but it’s not as tall as my couch off the floor to get under it… I haven’t yet tried it under my kids beds yet but have no doubt it will be excellent for that too! My bed sits on a box so unfortunately I can’t vacuum under it but love all the attachments it came with… especially the under the appliance wand.

Where has this wand been all my life! How did I live without it! The only downside that I can find as of now for only having it a couple weeks it that it’s a bit heavy so it wouldn’t be a great option for a older person who has weight restrictions(like after a surgery etc.

) I have 2 dogs and I have to vacuum every other day (2 labs) and it doesn’t amazing at getting it all! I love that the wand has a light on it too! I can’t say enough about it! Love love love it!.

Let me start by saying this is my favorite vacuum I have used, it works on hardwood, carpet, rugs (even thick ones!), and everything else. However, using this vacuum has a few drawbacks I will address later on, but it doesn’t totally ruin the experience.

Build Quality- This is a Dyson product and like all other Dyson products – is built really well. Zero complaints on how anything feels or fits and is top-notch. Everything is made of plastic however it still feels high quality and I can’t complain about the plastic build because if they used any more premium material it would quickly get very heavy so the well-finished plastic will do.

Attachments- Let me start by saying the laser hardwood attachment will ruin how clean you thought a room was, truly terrifies me that I have that much dust that I can only see with Dyson’s green laser but I am glad it is gone! All the heads on this vacuum are powered, an electrical port travels down the long tub or connects directly should you just plug the head in straight (such as the attachment for your car, works great and leaves those amazing carpet lines in your car) and that’s amazing but it means all the attachment heads will cost more so just a heads up there when you go to buy new or other attachment heads.

I believe this is the first time they are doing the powered heads as my last Dyson (v10?) did not have power running to the attachments. Features- Outside of the laser head attachment, it has a sensor in the vacuum that displays on the small LCD screen how many and what size dust particles it picks up.

I am not sure how accurate it is but either way, it is pretty much a gimic – your house has dust and lots of it but this puts an arbitrary number to it that to me at least doesn’t really matter. The screen is awesome for displaying your power, issues with the filter, and battery life.

Really nice and high-resolution screen for what it is. Outside of those and the new attachment heads and them being powered, it is pretty much the same as every other model except a bit more powerful and a bit more efficient.

Bin- Generally about the same size, with the same issues my last one had. Certainly big enough for my house that’s around 1800sf, can do it in one to two runs which is pretty good in my opinion and certainly not a problem.

If it is, they have the oversized one that is even bigger (and surprise surprise even more $). My issues- Let’s start with my least favorite, this thing clogs often. My dogs don’t shed a lot but for some reason, this thing clogs on their hair and it is due to the design as any small piece of fuzz can clog it.

This is because where the vacuum ejects the debris into the storage container, it is a flat slightly curved surface so any fuzz that isn’t less than 2″ will hit the wall and stop effectively clogging the vacuum and then backlogging the clog into the incoming pipe which can be difficult to pick out.

My second issue is that it can be an actual pain to get the tube to detach from the vacuum and takes me several minutes sometimes to press the red detach button in a sufficient way to eject. My last Dyson had both of these issues that I was hoping to be fixed but nonetheless, here we are.

Conclusions- This is a great vacuum, and I find that my issues are either very minor or only relative to me as most people don’t try and suck up fuzz. That’s ok but my issue is that they tout how powerful this is but my old college vacuum sucked up fuzz no problem.

I think I will continue to buy Dyson vacumes but I would really like to try a shark or one of the competitors to see how it fairs as well. I rated this 4 stars but really I think it is a 3. 5. I think if you are ok not sucking up fuzz this is the best vacuum on the market and it sucks up everything else leaving the BEST carpet lines of all time which really is all that matters here anyways lol.

I purchased the V15 Detect right when it launched in March of 2021. Overall, I’ve been extremely impressed with the performance of the V15 as a primary household vacuum cleaner. The Laser Slim Fluffy cleaner head is an absolute game changer when it comes to bare floor cleaning, and truly shows you how filthy your floors are, and how effective it is at cleaning them thoroughly.

It is so effective at removing fine dust off flooring surfaces that I hope Dyson eventually miniaturizes this cleaner head for use on glass tabletops and granite countertops. The “Hair Screw” tool is equally impressive for removing debris and hair off of any surface without tangling around the brush roll.

The motorized cleaner head with the “anti-tangle comb” is just as effective at removing hair from carpeted surfaces without any entanglement around the brush bar. The motorized cleaner head, coupled with the powerful suction of the V15, has proven to do an exceptional job at deep cleaning carpets in our household on a near daily basis.

Despite the wonderful performance of the V15 Detect, the primary, and significant, drawback of this machine is the propensity of hair tightly wrapping around the “shroud” within the clear bin. My wife’s long hair wraps around the shroud almost instantly, and once that happens, other debris such as cat hair and fluff builds up around the entangled hair.

Although the bin-emptying process involves a red silicon squeegee that is intended to remove all debris from the shroud, most of it is remains wrapped around the shroud. Now it has become routine maintenance to completely remove the clear bin and wipe down everything with a microfiber cloth whenever I need to empty the clear bin, which is essentially every time I vacuum the house.

Because of this issue, I can honestly see myself changing this out for a different model in the near future – perhaps an Outsize. I sincerely hope that Dyson redesigns the whole clear bin/shroud design sooner than later, because I am starting to get tired of having to thoroughly cleaning my machine every time I use it.

I had done extensive research prior to purchasing this vacuum. I had understood the physics of suction and agitation, ergonomics and weight balance, ease of use and creature comforts. I’ve gotta say this particular vacuum nails a lot of things in the head.

I had actually purchased three vacuums and tested them in my home until the return date was due. Since we were looking specifically for cordless I had the Shark Vertex Pro Duoclean, the Miele HX1 Tri-Flex and this Dyson V15 Detect.

All three of them were way above the price range that I had initially thought for a cordless vacuum. But with the addition of a new puppy, a house, two new cars, and kids in the near future, we decided the vacuum would be an investment for time savings and health.

I found this Dyson to correlate with real world testing of its suction and ease of use. This is incredibly lightweight and easy to use. I loved the tiny roller heads that can sneak there way into the furniture and underneath tables and chairs.

With than tiny head came unmatched agitation and power. This has an adjustable gate which allows you to choose between a better seal (higher suction) and more ground clearance to pick up larger items.

Although I have to say a lot of competitors did as well. The battery life with the sensor was stellar on all surfaces. And we were amazed by how well the green laser worked on our hardwood floors to visualize the hairs and dust in what we thought were clean areas.

The headlights on other vacuums are just not the same. People may say the sensor is gimmicky, but it truly benefits the user by sensing particle intake and boosting/reducing motor speed to provide a deeper clean while saving battery when not needed.

The parts themselves feel slightly plasticky, but robust enough to not worry about hitting them against furniture or stairs under normal use. Other vacuums we had looked at and tested may have felt more cheap and still were weighty.

I would highly recommend this product if the budget allows and you are looking for a vacuum that doesn’t have water filtration or a lot of maintenance.

I do not have a pet, I purchased this a couple of months ago because it claimed to have excellent suction. I learned the suction is really no better than any other vaccum I have owned. I also not impressed with the tools that came with it.

The wand extends to twice its length, which is a great idea, but it is hard to lock it in place and it collapses while using it. The brush that came with it is a pivoting dusting tool, bascially a two piece dusting brush that has a joint, its not a thick brush, as the brush is only on the outside rim of the tool which easily comes apart from the nozzle itself, and is really not good for anything other than high usage such as a ceing fan.

It also includes a crevice tool, and a pet turbo tool. As I said, I do not have a pet. When I first expressed my opinion about the tools I was offered a free dust brush and an upholstery brush. It took over a month to receive the free brushes, the upholstery brush was odd, with a hard detachable part, and felt around the edge of the tool itself.

It went in the trash. The dusting tool was exactly like one I had pruchased on line, for a few dollars. the brush part is very thin, again the brush only goes around the edge of the tool. The dusting brush also not a vry good tool.

When I looked on line to see the cost of the tools, I could not find upholstery brush. I guess the tools don’t sell very well so they used them as giveaways to make me feel better about the purchase.

Overall the vacuum itself works well, has good suction and does what it was designed to do. Does it work well for pet hair, I don’t know, but I don’t see why not. MY suggestion is for Hoover to go back to the drawing board, and make brushes that will actually do a good job, and don’t give away something that is not salable.

I recommed the vaccum, but find another source for the brushes.

Purchased this vacuum because my girlfriend and I shed as much an animal and it leaves space for pet hair in the future; and it was in sale, plus decision fatigue from all those “top vacuums of 2022” websites.

I’ve used it for about a month now It is exactly what I was looking for after weeks of looking at different comparisons and website. It has powerful suction, great for hair (and pet hair) hose and attachments for hard to reach places, can turn the dial and go from hardwood to carpet easily.

If you’re sensitive to noise, it is loud; but it’s a powerful vacuum so that is to be expected. It’s sturdy and does not feel cheap. The extended wand for hard to reach places is hidden on the additional arm attachment so don’t worry.

The instruction are great for telling you how to clean it and there is even a suction pressure dial that indicates when you should clean the filters so that’s handy. For the style of vacuum it can reach pretty far using the main suction (meaning it can be lowered pretty close to the floor while still maintaining suction) but don’t expect miracles.

It manoeuvres like you’d expect from a vacuum if this type but really easy to push around. The suction is so strong that when you use the wand attachment the hose “shrinks” under the pressure so you have to fight that and keep the vacuum in place or it will roll towards you.

Zero complaints about it. I love it and it’s serving me well so far.

Somehow it slipped my mind when I ordered this. If you intend to use the attachments or vacuum hard floors with this vacuum then purchase something else. Why? when using the attachments or vacuuming hard floors you can not turn off the carpet roller brush.

Completely unacceptable and this is not unique to Hoover, you need to be careful when purchasing any upright vacuums though more expensive ones most likely will have the feature and even some less expensive ones will too.

I was being careful as Hoover does make a model that I am going to buy someplace else just like this one in the same price range with a carpet roller brush turn off lever. Im really disappointed in Hoover, they have a great product, nice long hose (really important to me) ok attachments at this price, even rubber coated wheels instead of hard plastic but I guess the competition to keep price low compared to the other manufacturers are having them leave off this needed brush turn off.

Its really silly trying to use the all thoughtful attachments with nice long hose only to have the carpet brush roll spinning like crazy in one place on your hardwood floors ( I was cringing when this was happening) and if not on the hardwood try using the attachments on carpet and the vacuum will start walking on its own while you use the attachments.

Product = Fail.

The Shark Vertex DuoClean PowerFins Upright is exactly what a neat freak w/ OCD should own!!! You can feel the weight of the machine as you start it up (after you’ve adjusted the pile setting for hard floors, carpet, etc.

). I have been using another brand unit for the past 15 yrs approx. & was happy with it for almost all of those years. It provided me an introduction into the upscale vacuum product & also gave me some great ideas on what it was lacking & what I liked.

This Shark machine has all I was looking for & more!!! Pros: Versatility – it can become a canister vac, mobil detail unit for the vehicle, deep cleaning machine for furniture & mattresses and even a deep clean machine for the hard to reach, often forgotten places (under the fridge or oven – how long has it been since you actually swept under there?!) Easy to Assemble – The joints and nerves in my hands are under constant attack, which make even the smallest “grip”/“grab” task mildly frustrating.

After waiting a week for help to put it together, I decided to “suck it up buttercup” and try myself. It was all of about 5 steps & BOOM – we’ve got a new “toy” in the house! Gadgets/Gizmos/Attachments/Accessories – There is an accessory for almost any task in your home & automobile! I haven’t tried them all yet, but very excited to do so! Hopefully it’s a breeze to use them & attach them as it was to put together the entire machine! Bonus – I don’t often purchase a product on the actual brand website, but after a night of insomnia, I stumbled on this paid programming segment (as well as the hair dryer…so I may have that on my next Shark/Ninja product acquisition list!).

I was so shocked that a vacuum could do ALL of that, plus you’d get bonus accessories & items as well as an extended warranty option all for purchasing on the site! SOLD – sign me up! Cons: Weight/Vibration – As mentioned previously, I do have severe hand issues, so although I was amazed at how “fluffy” my carpet felt after vacuuming SLOWLY for my first test run & how I feel like that carpet hasn’t actually been cleaned this whole time, after a little bit, I could feel the tingling and vibration for the next couple hours.

Not a deal breaker, just definitely a thought to consider – ensure you have the energy & appropriate rest time afterward if you suffer the same symptoms. Attachment Storage – it lacks the “on the unit” storage of most competitors & wish it did have clip places to attach them to the unit itself.

Instead, they give you a bag to put it in. Which this is fine if your household is of the same mindset as you – but if you live in the “real world” like I do, it’s likely that you live with folks who don’t put things back where they belong, therefore you’re likely to have lost or M.

I. A. Accessories. So here’s to hoping my “happy-go-lucky” loved ones heed my warnings if they do not store the accessories back in their designated & appropriate area! :).

I give a 5 out of 5 star review for the Vertex Duo Clean. It offers high or low suction power using 3-speed (hard floor, low nap, high nap settings), zero frustration to attach and detach accessories with snap off button switches, keeps fur and hair off the head nozzle rollers with duo clean engineering.

I have been using my Vertex well over one year, and I have had no issues. With the low suction, I can vacuum most throw rugs, bathroom mats, without using a hand held accessory. Suction is high so to remove an attached accessory, I just hold handle between my legs, and twist off; pull off does not work in detaching accessories.

I like how the head nozzle has flash light to see dust better in dark. I don’t have that light though if I use accessory with the long tube, but that’s not a big deal. I know the dust is there, or saw it from head nozzle light, and just make sure to suction the specific area.

True, by design, the two on board attachments get knocked off, but we do bump our vacuums around against things, so I don’t see that as a drawback. It makes it easier to pull attachments off while in use, and they only fall off if you bump the vacuum.

This vacuum is not responsible for blowing dust bunnies around by the way. All vacuums blow air out while in use. When people don’t wash their curtains, linens, blankets, vacuum their closets, wash their walls, vacuum their furniture, or clean their ventilation, change heat pump filters frequently, have old shredding fiber carpeting, or have a poorly running heat pump, you get floaters; That’s why some people have air cleaners running in every room.

I also love that this vacuum is self propelling, and see why due to extensive high suction, and a tad, slight heavier vacuum. I do have to use low suction on high knap carpets to push easier. Only one type of carpet (rare), extremely thick high knap, this model is hard to push through the carpet, even on low suction.

However, I can still get the carpet vacuumed with slightly more cardio effort. This carpet fiber I do not encounter frequently as a home cleaner. I check my head nozzle for any accumulated hair, and sometimes, if the vacuum is rolled over dried, sticky stuff on the floor/carpet, then hair is going to stick with that and get caught up in the felt roller bars.

At least I do not need scissors to have to cut off the roller bars, and the hair is pulled out stuck in between the grill and felt roller bar. I love the button on each side of the head nozzle to detach the roller bars for cleaning, as well as cleaning inside of head nozzle.

I feel Shark vacuums could stand improvement in the plastic sections of the vacuum that could be fitted with stainless steel plating to protect the plastic that can get overly scratched or easily broken located in in the neck region and lift away attachment region on this vacuum.

Also a larger canister would be good. Hair does clump up and doesn’t easily fall out of the canister. My hands get dirty here in assisting the dirt to fall through. My client complimented how clean I always get her carpet, as she has a shedding German shepherd so I just vacuum until no more hair gets sucked inside the canister.

The two on board attachments provide all I need in cleaning stairs, upholstery, and cracks and corners. No need to carry in a ton of accessories to clean a home in most cases. Be sure to register the vacuum with Shark to warranty the performance of your vaccine.

Kind of like, kind of disappointed. Purchased to replace our 5 year old Shark Navigator Lift-Away whose electrical cord broke. Having hard wood floors, our options were limited. Having loved our old Shark, it seemed to be a no-brainer to purchase this with the hard wood floor setting.

So far. Pros: – hardwood floor setting – lift away cannister – powerhead fits underneath most of our furniture – the soft front brush roll is nice as it dusts our wood floor Cons: – the quality of build and parts seems cheaper than other models – no longer has the built in wand nozzle light – the canister “lifted away” is super finnicky to click and lock back into place – wand is also finnicky to get locked back into place after using – the soft front brush roll is annoying as heck on area rugs: doesn’t matter the thickness, it always seems to pull just enough of the rug into the machine causing the powerhead to think it is jammed and stop working.

Machine has to be turned off and back on to reset. Overall, after being excited about the brush roll fitment, I am disappointed in this vacuum. The wand and canister’s finnickiness is super annoying as I use both every time I vacuum; same with the brush roll’s inability to handle vacuuming smaller area rugs (as in 3 x 5 entry mat and 2.

5 x 7 runners) without “clogging” the powerhead. The only reason I am considering keeping it is because we got it on sale, and have hard floors; other models designed for hardwood floors don’t have power heads that fit under furniture.

Some of it is a shiny material and other parts have a matte finish. At just over three and a half inches tall, it fits under most of my furniture with ease, getting the hard to reach areas that I often neglect.

It has a TrueMapping Distance Sensor that protrudes slightly from the top and an AUTO Mode button beside it that can be pressed to initiate automatic cleaning (custom cleaning can be initiated through the mobile app).

The button also acts as an indicator light. It’ll either be off, solid white, flashing white, solid red, or flashing red, depending on the scenario. With the top cover lifted, there’s a Wi-Fi indicator light, reset button, power switch, and multifunction cleaning tool (for maintenance).

There’s also access to the auto-empty dust bin and the filter. The front has an anti-collision bumper and multiple sensors. On the bottom, there are additional sensors, the main brush with a release button for maintenance, two side brushes, wheels, charging contacts, a water outlet, and a reservoir.

Included with the robot is the Auto-Empty Station, which has an infrared signal emitter to help the DEEBOT dock, auto-empty inlets where the dustbin’s contents go when the station is initiated, a dust bag under the top lid, and an indicator light.

The power cord wrap that’s built into the back is a nice touch that I appreciate because it helps with hiding the power cord. Both the DEEBOT and Auto-Empty Station are very well designed. Setup: Under the top cover is a paper insert that has the steps to get started.

I found them to be helpful and easy to follow. Basically, all that’s required is to remove the protectors, install the side brushes, place the Auto-Empty Station in the desired location, put the DEEBOT on the station, power it on, download the app, scan the QR code on the DEEBOT, then finish the on-screen instructions.

Within minutes, my DEEBOT was ready to go. Setup was seamless from start to finish. I always appreciate an easy setup process. Performance: The DEEBOT is impressively efficient. It doesn’t just roam aimlessly and change directions when it bumps into a wall or object.

It maps out the room, moves in straight lines when it makes sense to do so, knows where it has been, and covers nearly every inch of the floor. It’s even able to make it over a somewhat high transition strip that’s between my laundry room and living room.

I’ve inspected its work after multiple uses and couldn’t spot anything significant left behind. My wife and I have a cat, so we were hoping this would help pick up hair throughout the week instead of it accumulating prior to our normal cleaning day, and it does a fantastic job of doing that.

It’s also helpful for the inevitable kitchen messes after preparing/eating meals. Looking at the clean floor after it’s done and seeing how full the dustbin gets is quite satisfying. The Auto-Empty Station eliminates the need to manually empty the dustbin after each use, but I do have to occasionally check the dustbin because pet hair sometimes gets caught.

When the DEEBOT transitions to carpet, it recognizes the difference and increases suction automatically. Even with the higher suction engaged, it still operates quietly. The only time it gets loud like a full-size vacuum is when the dustbin is emptying at the Auto-Empty Station.

A lot of our flooring is hardwood, but several rooms are carpeted, and the cleaning effectiveness on the carpet is just as impressive as it is on the hardwood. I wouldn’t say it can replace a standard vacuum, but it certainly helps keep my carpeted rooms cleaner than they’d normally be.

Whether I tell the DEEBOT to just do certain rooms or the entire first floor of my house, the battery lasts a long time. On average, it can get up to three hours of runtime on one charge. The mopping capability for hard floors is a great bonus, but it’s not perfect.

As I mentioned, a large portion of my flooring is hardwood, so having the mop helps keep the hardwood cleaner than just a vacuum would. However, mopping just involves a wet cloth getting dragged across the floor as the DEEBOT is also vacuuming, so I wouldn’t say it’s deep cleaning by any means.

Although it’s better than vacuuming alone, I wish the mopping cloth spun or vibrated to scrub the floor a little more than it does. My other wish is that it was acceptable to use a cleaning solution instead of just water.

The instructions specifically recommend purified water. There’s no mention of a cleaning solution, so I’ve just assumed it’d be best to stick with water, in case using a cleaning solution somehow causes damage.

Despite those wishes, I still like the mopping capability because it does a pretty good job of preventing grime buildup on the floor. Overall, this DEEBOT has the smarts and performance to deliver nearly perfect vacuuming, but I think the mopping performance is just moderate.

App Features: General controls, like starting, pausing, or stopping a cleaning job can all be done in the app. Additionally, there are plenty of more advanced features available in the app as well, such as cleaning schedules, a cleaning sequence (order in which rooms will be cleaned), the ability to select a specific room or area to be cleaned, virtual boundaries, adjustable vacuum power or water flow level, and more.

If you have Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant devices, the DEEBOT can even be controlled with your voice. It’s a feature-rich app that makes the DEEBOT experience both user friendly and convenient. Verdict: Where the DEEBOT OZMO T8+ falls short is mopping.

While it’s cool to have a robot vacuum that mops at the same time, I think the word “mop” should be loosely used in this case. It’s more like a wipe. I might eventually try the add-on mopping accessory with high-frequency vibration that can be purchased separately, but I wish that was already an included feature and that cleaning solution could be used instead of just water.

I think this DEEBOT is mainly designed to be a vacuum though, so with that in mind, there’s no denying that the DEEBOT OZMO T8+ is an innovative and effective robot vacuum. It accurately maps out the floor, knows where it’s been and where it still needs to go so that a spot doesn’t get missed and time isn’t wasted.

The feature-rich app enables highly customizable cleaning, like schedules, virtual boundaries, or even the ability to tell it a specific area within a room to go clean. The icing on the cake is the included Auto-Empty Station that empties the dustbin automatically after each cleaning job.

I’m happy to report that the robot vacuuming experience has been nearly perfect and for that, it deserves my recommendation and a five-star, “Excellent” rating.

I’ve had the Deebot T8 AIVI for almost a full year and we use it pretty regularly in our household. I’ll start by saying that I am mostly satisfied with my Deebot T8 AIVI, however I give it 3 stars because it delivers less than promised and falls short on several points.

tl;dr – the ‘AI’ is a joke, the mapping almost makes it amazing, but bugs in the software ultimately make even this great feature a constant frustration. AI Object Recognition – This is an area where the T8 AIVI disapoints.

Prior to this we had a fairly basic Neato Botvac D80. The D80 was generally better than the T8 AIVI at avoiding obstacles. The T8 AIVI maybe knows how to avoid a pair of keys left on the ground (not a problem in my household), but it will run into your legs or your cat full speed and regularly pushes around the 2inch tall water bowl for our cat.

Not only this, but it still gets stuck on the same furniture that our previous botvac struggled with. Since this is partially a software feature, perhaps they will improve it, but currently this is just a gimmicky feature with no real value.

Mapping – The T8 AIVI does an impressive job mapping your house and dividing them up into regions. That paired with the ability to do specific area cleaning and integrations with smart home speakers brings you as close to the Jetsons as you’ve ever been.

It feels great to tell Alexa to clean your kitchen and then watch as the T8 AIVI goes and cleans up just the area requested. when it works. The problem is that this map changes on almost every run. One day everything is great, the next all your room labels are gone.

The following day the rooms themselves have been merged into new zones so you can’t even just clean the kitchen. You can go into their app and set these up again, but that gets annoying if you have to do it every time.

On top of that there are several bugs that sometime prevent you from being able to get your map set up how you had it before. Worst of all, the T8 AIVI is very sensitive to being moved and any manual movement (say it gets stuck in a corner) will cause it to lose the entire map.

When the map is lost you have no choice to but do an entire cleaning over again. In the end this is still an effective botvac and we use it almost daily. I have not used the regular T8, but if you’re considering the T8 AIVI, perhaps go with that instead and save yourself a few hundred dollars.

The good – It works. For a while. We bought this in February 2021. It has cleaned our home several times a week accurately for many months. It does a good job, maps great, sticks to a schedule, finds its way to the charger etc.

All what you expect from an 800 dollar robot. BUT it died today. One of the motor wheels just stopped turning. Nothing clogging it, (we dont have pets) or obsructing motion. I would hope the engineers designed this for more that just a warranty period of flawless operations but these days I am sceptical.

We are sending it back (TO NEW YORK) for repairs (FOR SEVERAL WEEKS) as it is under warranty, and I am requesting a new device. We will see what happens. Like all things robotic, the engineers need to over build these things so they actually last and I am afraid that they just do not (dishwashers, fridge, washing machines of the past all build to last vs today) We paid A BUNCH of money for this and simply don’t want to shell this out every year.

A life span of 4 to 5 years to me should be the benchmark for something like this and acceptable to me. Under one year, NO way.

I have owned other leading brands in the past and let me tell you! Ever since I had purchase my 1st shark 5 years ago which it did last for that long until my tubing ripped and couldn’t find replacement parts for it.

The shark company provides wonderful products that really have a high performance. They’re efficient, lighted for better visibility, have great maneuverability when rotating. So when my husband found me this as a replacement I knew I just had to try it.

It came with 3 attachments and has a lift away function where I can leave the floor part and walk with the bucket basically and vacuum in hard to reach places and stairs. It’s not too heavy and very easy to use! I love how powerful the vacuum is.

It picks up any mess my littles leave me. I use this 3x a day and it’s not an imposition to unravel the cord plug it in an unplug and ravel the cord back up. It’s super quick and easy and honestly, I find vacuuming enjoyable and now have a machine that not only happens to be my favorite color, but my favorite brand as well! So happy to have found this! Oh and did I mention how easy it is to clean and there’s a compartment for when/if definitely when something gets Caught in the hose and clogs it, there’s a compartment you can open on the side to get it out.

How neat no more burning up motors and having to completely disassemble to resolve an issue. Shark Also has made it super easy to clean and empty. There’s a separate compartment in the bucket with a mesh bucket so that it stays in there and filters out the debris and keeps the hair and/ bigger things trapped up too.

Love love it!.

Got this today, was a breeze to assemble and get going. Picks up a lot of dirt and hair quickly, I like the no tangle bush as we have a longer hair dog, and my wife and daughter both have long hair which used to have to be cut from the beater bar of our old vac on a regular basis.

This one has 3 filters so good for allergies, and the dual brushes which did very well on carpet and hardwood, getting a lot of the dust on the wood floor the old one couldnt get. Only a few things to note, the bin is a bit small and had to be dumped a lot because of pet hair, 3 times on our main living room.

It is not the lightest vacuum but about the same as our old one. I wish it came with a cleaning brush head separate order. and had room on board for all the attachments instead of just 2. The head is low profile and fits places our old one would not, and it turns very well.

Will see how well it holds up as the Dyson 07 it is replacing lasted us for 20 years and did a good job consistently. Just didnt want to pay top dollar for a Dyson again. 3 months later and the vacuum is still doing a great job.

We have not had any problems with hair wrap on the brush bar with our golden retrievers fur. Still have to dump the bin a lot with pet fur. Still miss that there was no standard brush attachment, but came with basically two upholstery brushes one powered, one not.

About to order the standard long bristle cleaning brush so I can clean the air return and vents, be nice if the sizes were standard so I could just use the old ones from other vacuums. Another quick update, trying to find accessories like the dusting brush has been difficult.

Shark does not carry one on their website, even though the owners manual says they do, and cant or wont tell you the dimensions needed. Ordering one from Home Deliveries USA, let you know if it fits in a later update.

Well, it does vacuum well. And there is the HEPA filter. For reference, I am used to my old upright Eureka Boss Smart Vac (which lived a long life but recently died), and this Shark is harder use use in many ways.

For starters, a filter bag is so much easier to deal with than the canister, which has to be emptied after every vacuum, and doesn’t even empty completely on it’s own (i. e. you have to reach in to dislodge hair, etc).

I also failed to realize that with the swivel steering, the upright unit is just more unstable and a little harder to push overall as a result. The real kicker though is the almost complete uselessness of the attachments.

Because you have to take the upright handle off, the unit that is left is so short you then have to carry it around. In addition, the attachment tubing is so short that you have to bend over to use the attachments.

So you therefore are all bent over, trying to carry around the unit in order to use the attachments, which is very back breaking. So. It does vacuum; it does good on bare floors and area rugs of various pile depths.

If you never use attachments and don’t mind skin and nose contact with your floor detritus, then this vacuum could be fine for you.
