Took me a while to find a Chinese Checkers board that actually had pegs. Marbles are all well and good as long as you’re not playing with young children. It can be trying enough playing 3 or more without having to deal with running around after marbles.
This was a gift for elderly couple who like to play Chinese Checkers but have difficulty handling the marbles without knocking several out of place. The pegs solved that problem and the vibrant colors was easier on their eyes.
Figure the pegs would be easier for young children to manage as well.

The board is well made and for the price and exceptional purchase. I would recommend it with the following considerations; The board even though well made is on the small size and could be a little larger.
Also the board is not painted resulting in a few problems when 6 players are playing ( you lose vision of the area you are trying to reach; they all look the same. Te marbles are unique colors and would have been better served if the were bright basic colors.
Now with that said, would I purchase this product again; yes I would. We’ve already had allot of fun playing and using it.
The game is as advertised. The wooden board and marbles are sturdy so I expect it to endure for many games. It could be improved by adding some color to the board and I miss the lines that are usually printed on the board.

The best board I have ever had. Pegs are great! and stay put. No marbles rolling away. Large playing area. I can’t say enough about how nice this set is. All my friends ask about where I purchased the board.
We really like this board. If you bump the pegs accidentally they don’t roll all over the place like marbles do. We also like the lines on the board to help guide our plays. And the size of the board is perfectly fine.
I thought it might be too small, as someone complained of that in a review I read before I ordered. If it is smaller than a standard size board, we can’t really tell. Great price!.
The product itself is fine and I am happy with it. However, the packaging was less than desirable. It looked as it had been opened and resealed with packing tape to the point the tape had to be cut to get to the game.

They make you think that it has a compartment for each set of balls but it is not true. Only one compartment for all the balls. Which makes it hard to identify the color of the balls since they are just regular marbles.
The grandkids loved it. We had a lot of fun and they werent in their devices for once. If I had thought about it more I would have ordered one a little larger. Us old folks fumbled with the marbles a little.

I wanted to teach my 5,6 & 8 year old nephews/niece how to play and originally bought a cheap set with marbles in a local store. Unfortunately, the set was too small and the little ones’ hands kept knocking the plastic marbles out of the shallow indentations, frustrating everyone.
I did a Google search and found this set. It’s a good size, has a nice solid feel to it and best of all it has pegs that stay in place and don’t get knocked off the board. It’s a game we’ll be able to play for years.
The only thing I’d change is to add the connector lines, to make it easier for the kidlets to understand how they can jump, but I can live with that. Also, it arrived much sooner than I expected, less than a week from the time I ordered it.
The wood and pegs are excellent on this game. The painted edge around side was not carefully painted and was a bit marred but doesnt take away from being able to use the game. Overall the game was a good price for the quality.
The wooden board is heavy and well constructed. The wooden pegs fit snugly and stay put. The only negative is that the smooth bottom surface was sliding too easily across the table whenever we needed to advance a peg.
I will correct that with a few rubber tips – problem solved.
The colors of the marbles were not as shown on the box. There were no red marbles. Instead, a light beige had been substituted. So three of the colors– beige, white, and yellow– were very similar, because the yellow marbles were also light in color.
This made the game a bit more challenging to play, especially for younger children. Otherwise, the board was sturdy, and the marbles fit well in the holes. The larger-sized board was a plus.
I really like this Jumbo Chinese Checkers board. The bigger board is easy to use, easy to move the marbles. It is very well made. We are giving one to granddaughter for Christmas, can’t wait to see her open it.
We tested it out and decided to also buy one for our house. I would recommend it.
I have 2 of these, and will get 1 more for my house. There is room for your fingers to actually pick up the marbles! My granddaughter and I really challenge ourselves and sometimes play 3 colors each! It is large, and very stable.
We put felt in the bottom of ours so as not to scratch the table.

The game arrived when it was supposed to. The picture above is what was online, and on the box. HOWEVER, the colors of the marbles were not what was shown. It may sound silly, but I wanted a game with the BRIGHT colors, and we didn’t get any red marbles but instead got some sick-looking barely pink ones which look an awful lot like the white ones.

I love the wooden construction and pegs as opposed o the metal board and marbles my sisters and I grew up with in the 40’s and 50’s.
The pegs, however, are rather easily knocked over by small hands as they don’t sit very deeply into the holes provided and are quite loose in the holes. I provided a drawstring cloth bag for peg storage, something the manufacturer could include, like the bag in Scrabble games that holds the letter tiles.
