20 Best Chips For Salsa (2022 Updated)

I have liked these chips for years. But for a long time I couldn’t find them in stores until I ran across some @ BigLot stores which is the only place I could find them after discovering them at work in the snack machine.

Firstly they are packed with flavor in every bite. Avocado, tomatoe, jalapeno, and salsa spice in a perfect blend. tortilla chips that u don’t need the salsa with. Lastly as such a perfectly seasoned chip when u do use it for salsa or nachos they are amazingly delicious.

I picked these up from a gas station because I was craving some kind of chips and dip vibe but didnt want to spend close to $10 to get what I wanted. These chips were like $2 and advertises that “the dip is in the chip” so I thought I’d give it a try for the price.

I didnt like these at all. The concept is great but everything else kind of misses the mark.

These tortilla chips are quite unique and very verde tasty : ) Paqui seem to have some skill with creating good flavors. I tried their nacho chips and thought they were good and these salsa verde chips are a notch better.

They are crispy and crunchy without being too hard – not quite as perfect in texture as Late July chips, but better than average. The salsa verde flavor is spot on – actually better than most actual salsa verdes that I’ve tried.

What’s disappointing for me is that they don’t use organic dairy – they did for their nacho chips, so it seems weird that they haven’t here. I’m trying to avoid dairy products these days if not organic, because of concerns over animal welfare.

I’d also prefer if the cooking oil was expeller-pressed. For social and environmental impact I’m giving them 2/5 green stars. They use non-GMO corn but other than that there’s nothing in particular to suggest responsible sourcing of ingredients.

They are made by Amplify Snack Brands – the same people who make Skinny Pop – and I haven’t found any information on their sustainability or general corporate responsibility. There are other chip brands out there using organic ingredients, using green energy, making biodiesel from their used cooking oil, supporting conservation projects, etc.

(like Kettle and Boulder Canyon). Hopefully Paqui (Amplify) will improve on these issues over time.

These chips have so much flavor and they are my absolute favorite! Think of the flavor like fresh cool ranch with a little bit of a kick. They are crisp and have a great amount of seasoning on them without being too much.

I just wish the bag was a bit bigger because then I would have to buy less of them. 🤪.

Bag was less that half full. It’s pretty pricey for 1 bag of chips, however they do taste good and it’s something different. Find whatever coupons you can to try them atleast once stay away from the ghost pepper ones crazy got I could only eat 7 at a time you start to cough and need milk.

I loved these chips they do have a little kick to them but they are definitely good. My husband loves them he swears it taste like salsa but in chip form. I would like to think it’s healthier than other chips.

But we love them and definitely recommend.

I picked up a bag of these just to try them out. We usually go the cheap route with the OTB brand but decided to splurge and try these. They are fantastic! It’s a thicker chip, has a great corn taste, a slight amount of oil, and the perfect amount of salt.

They are perfect for eating by themselves or with salsa. We liked these so much that we bought three more bags before they are no longer stocked.

I grabbed a bag of these from Sams club in Tucson. Looked like they were being closed out. Best chips i’ve ever eaten. Now i have to figure out how to find them in Colorado. Sams club should stock these.

It would be one of those items I’d specifically make a trip to Sams just to restock.

Oh my goodness, these chips were amazing!! I wish Sam’s club would sell these chips permanently! Like another reviewer mentioned, we almost finished this bad bag in one day LOL. So so good.

Never tried these before but they are lush. And love the taste of them. Would recommend these even nice with a dip or used for nachos. And at a good price you get 3 big bags.

Love these tortillas with hummus, salsa, cream cheese and chive dips. Great flavour not too overpowering. Very nice with a glass of wine or 2!

These are great for parties or having friends over, a nice accompaniment to go alongside sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiche, etc… My go-to crisps/chips when I’m having people over

Nothing beats the classic and delicious crunchy nacho cheese chips! The type of chips that work good for any occasion. Not to mention, the perfect go to snack, binge food, gaming fuel, and taste buds pleaser.

I personally don’t care for cheese all that much on my own terms, however Doritos has the perfect amount of cheesy taste, it never goes wrong! Haven’t tried any other flavors but I don’t need to when I’ve never opened a bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos® and it wasn’t delicious! The serving suggestion is odd, but like it says on the packaging, it’s just a suggestion! I have never met anyone that only had one single seven chip serving, who does that?! They are so good that they get addicting.

This savory and crunchy type of chips never lasts very long anywhere as they get devoured by any one. How could you resist? I’m not proud of this but I love Doritos so much, I once ate TWO FULL PARTY SIZED BAGS of Nacho Cheese Doritos ®.

Did I mention it was in the same day? Consumed both bags in their own individual sittings but all at once. Talk about a problem! My tummy wasn’t happy with me afterwards but my taste buds were in an orgasmic heaven as I try to scrub the cheese powder residue off my fingers.

Worth it? Maybe not because now I’m out of Doritos 🙁 Did I also mention that only happened two weeks ago? I’ve only consumed one other bag of Doritos since then (by myself) and I think it’s safe to say that I need to go buy more.

So that way I can eat them all. I like food too much, and when I find a food that I enjoy perfusely, I end up bingeing on it like no tomorrow.

We love Doritos in this house. A nice crispy, nacho cheesy, tortilla type bite. The only downfall to these chips is the orange fingers, so we usually only eat them at home, so we can wash our hands. Now for meal… we make Walking Tacos at home.

We first had them at sports venues for my kids, and now make them a lot. We buy the 10 pack for this meal. Make your taco meat as you normally would, following the flavor packet instructions. This comes from your grocery store, not the Doritos.

Gently crush each bag you plan on using, and then open it. Add the cooked meat to the bag. Now add your toppings… lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and salsa. Now serve the bag with a fork.

Give it a little mix before you eat. So you get multi levels of flavor in each bite. The kids love it and makes them feel like they are having a special treat. Parents love it, because it is way less messy than a traditional taco.

These are some of my favorite tortilla chips ever and I have been eating them ever since I was a kid. I usually buy a box of the individual snack packs of these. I can’t buy the big family-size bag of them because I would just mindlessly eat myself into oblivion.

Once you start eating them, it can be difficult to stop because they are so good! Although there are a variety of different flavors, the original nacho cheese flavor is the best, in my opinion, and the only one that I like.

I’ve tried the cool ranch doritos, but I just didn’t care for them at all. I will always prefer the cheesy taste of the original doritos. It just doesn’t get any better than that and I will continue to be a regular consumer of them.

I definitely recommend them to anyone who likes cheese and tortilla chips– these are the perfect snack for you!.

I love On The Border chips, they are normally light and crispy and perfect out of the bag. I thought these Salsa flavored chips would be even better – no need for dipping. Unfortunately, the chips are slightly stale (not as crispy and light as the regular chips) and the salsa flavoring has no spice.

It tastes more like a mild BBQ flavor because it’s slightly sweet. Hard pass on these. I’ll just buy a jar of salsa for the chips from now on.

What can I say it’s a On The Border Cafe product. We like the salsa flavor, just tangy enough, holds up well with dips. If sealed well with a clip, the chips will stay fresh for awhile. We always get a second bag because the salsa flavor isn’t a normally stocked item.

The chips hold up well to being used as the base of nachos. Great Taste / Great Vaule.

Really enjoyed these. They have great flavor – although note that they are pretty spicy. If you aren’t a spicy kind of person, they may be too hot. The flavor is excellent however. I was a bit bummed by the 2nd bag b/c there wasn’t as much flavor/seasoning on the chips, but hoping the next bag will be like the first.

These chips are gluten free. And the packaging states that the chips were made in a facility that doesn’t process gluten. Some Barnana chips at sold at other stores don’t mention that. So I ordered three packs of these chips from Sams club.

All three bags had burst open in the box. There was no cushioning material( the air filled bags) in the box. I had to throw them all as the nearest Sams club was not near. Very disappointed.

Great taste ! Shipment arrived well protected. Packaging is a bit deceiving as the contents are nowhere near the size of the package, but I can’t fault the taste. I see this as a good alternative to the famous Kerala (from India) banana chips with clean ingredients.

Lacks the same flavor as this chips is made from plantain and much less salty. Me and my family really like the taste ! Ordering my second shipment now.

We love that these plantain chips are USDA Certified Organic (a big plus), but are a bit on the salty side. These chips are thick enough for generous servings combined with dips and/or hummus. They were sent by mail, and they traveled pretty well (3 bags) with most chips intact (not crushed in transit).

Very crunchy and addictive snacks. The price for these ‘Party Size’ bags (12 oz. ) are a bit high (in comparison to other types of chip snacks), but well worth a try!.

These Nacho chips taste great. I can’t believe they are low carb. I was able to buy a bag in store and I just ate some with guacamole dip. Being on a low carb diet, I have been missing chips as most have too much carbs.

Wish the sodium wasn’t so high but I will eat just a small serving at a time.

I loveeee Zambos!!! My favorite!!!! They’re perfection !! The perfect amount of lime and chili (not spicy at all). The perfect crunch!! I recommend them 1000%!!!

Omgggggg I’m trying to choose healthier options and here you have it plantain chili limon flavor I swear these are so good just the right amount of spice and lime flavor and very crunchy not hard at all like most plantain chips , I was scared to try them but hey you only live once lol , I wasn’t too hot about the price they were $2.

99 I felt like that was sorta steep for this 5. 5oz bag but then again they’re really good so it was worth every dollar !! Definitely recommend !!! Try them !!!!.

These are addicting! They are so expensive and hard to find where I live, but my hubby and me just love them. Add to that a good horchata, and boom!

Normal [and recognizable] ingredients. Taste great. These chips are crispy, and they’re on the thicker side, so they should stand up to whatever you’r dipping into. 🙂 Simply corn chips cooked in corn oil–so I don’t need to worry about my food sensitivities.

My local Targets don’t carry them, so I just order online and get them delivered. Target’s got the best pricing I’ve found for these chips.

Love them. Love them. Goes great with my salsa. I can’t order them as above because of a fixed income. The shipping is costly too I ordered peanuts in a shell. Salsa/ chips. Almost 9. 00 shipping I think the nuts did it.

I had read about these Donkey Unsalted Authentic Tortilla Chips last summer somewhere. Instead of actually trying to find them, though, I decided I’d make my own. So I did – several “batches”, in fact, using white flour tortillas and corn tortillas over the summer.

But, they were always lacking something. By chance about 3 weeks ago, I saw these Donkey Chips at Health Heart Market when I was looking for something else. I decided to purchase a bag. One of the best online purchases I’ve made! They’ve got taste, have that “addictive” feature, and are reasonably priced.

No salt needed actually. Although if it were included it would be a plus. I don’t miss it, though. These also beat hands down my “homemade” version from the summer. Thus, I’ll be scrapping my recipe and keeping these on hand.

I love, but can’t eat “Dorito Nacho’s”, due to them having MSG. But, since trying “On The Border Cafe Style Salsa Tortilla Chips”, they are much better, and even have a slight heat to them. And, best if all, ” No MSG”! I hope Sam’s keep selling them!.

These chips are fabulous! They’ve been my favorite for years! They have the perfect blend of spices without being too hot. They also have a cool cilantro & lime taste that’s just right. They’re perfect when you’re craving a good fresh salsa but can’t make it to your favorite Mexican restaurant.

These chips stand alone!.

Love these, they taste so good salty and crunchy, more of a tortilla taste. Which I love, like how they’re made in scoops or flat lay kind. They scoop up salsa nicely and such sauces. I do loveeeee how affordable they are and availability is awesome being that they’re at any gas station, store, supermarket, grocery, auto stores, or even dollar stores too.

They have quite the variety of stores and tastes!! Affordable. I definitely recommend and will continue to repurchase.

If I had to pick a bag of chips that changed my life, it would no doubt be the Tostitos Corn Chips– with a hint of lime. I didn’t even know these existed until several months ago when I causally picked one off of the store shelf and tossed it into my shopping cart.

Since that day, I have eaten them with cheese– nacho style, dipped them in salsa, and eaten bags, and then more bags of them plain. In my apartment they are now the universal favorite and everyone buys them and shares them.

Having a bad day– simply grab some delicious chips and I pretty much guarantee that you’ll feel better about your day. These chips really are a pretty much perfect combination of crunchy and flavor, and have just enough seasoning that you can always taste it but are never overwhelmed by it’s assaulting flavor.

I might sound a little bit flippant in this review, but the honest truth is that I love these chips, all of my roommates do too and we would all highly recommend them to others. At the very least try them, who knows– they may change your life too.

These are the lightest, thinnest, saltiest and tastiest chips basically ever. We LOVE to eat these with hummus, salsa, avocado, cumin seed sour cream, etc. You name it. They make the perfect base to nachos, and can even be eaten solo.

I would give these chips no stars if possible. I’ve eaten at Frontera restaurants and these chips do not reflect the quality at Rick Bayless’ restaurants in Chicago. I experienced food poisoning from eating the chips despite the expiration noted within date.

There was a strong chemical odor and flavor which made the chips taste rancid. Please do not eat these chips!.

We LOVE these chips. They are crispy and salty and delish in the oven if you get the oil on them nice and hot again. These are the closest thing we have found to actual taqueria chips like you’d get in a restaurant.

These chips taste great. They’re your standard restaurant-style tortilla chips and you can’t go wrong with this purchase. If you like tortilla chips, you will enjoy these. I recommend trying them warmed up in the oven.

These generic chips are great for branding. Huge size, 2 lbs and a great price! Would definitely recommend. Very fresh, crispy and tasty. Love these chips.

Mission quality in every bag. A very veritile product, and menu favorite. These chips are cut thick and lightly salted. We store ships in a cool and dry place to extend shelve life.

We enjoyed the taste although it’s definitely misleading to call it a “Hint of” since the flavor is actually quite noticeable. If I had to quantify it, whereas I would expect something with a “hint of” to be a 3 out of 10 in flavor, these are more like a 6-7 out of 10.

Not a problem for anyone in my family but, if you really only want chips with a hint of flavor, these probably aren’t for you. The problem with these tortilla chips, that will prevent us from buying them again, is EVERYONE in the family found them too salty.

I actually have a higher tolerance to salt than many and even I couldn’t eat them on their own due to the saltiness. The only way they are edible is to eat them with an unsalted dip of some sort. For example, dipping them into some real quacamole made with no salt tones down the saltiness of the chips enough to enjoy them.

But, what’s the point of buying guacamole chips if you have to dip them into real guac to make them edible?!?! And, unfortunately, I don’t know of any unsalted salsa to eat them with. So, unanimous agreement in our family is to not buy these again unless they cut down on the saltiness.
